LILY
post six ❀ 'the cats are so cute, but welp we'll have to leave em' ❀ bus ❀ ophelia Aster Aster

Lily took Ophelia's offering. A ball attached to the end of a wooden fork. She eyed it suspiciously, examining the texture with its colourful sauce and herbs. She then, out of fearless curiousity, shoved the whole thing into her mouth and immediately melted.

"Mm!"

Takoyaki tasted better than she thought. Lily didn't know what she was expecting. Maybe an unnatural rubbery bite once she got to the octopus, the suction on the tentacles.

But she hummed and nodded enthusiastically in approval. "This is good!" she said with half a mouthful.

Lily still had one more corn on the cob, though now full she held it purposelessly in her hands. She could give it away to someone on the bus-- someone else must've forgotten their coins like she did and had to starve.

When they arrived in the bus, the two sat in their original seats. A few of the students were already there and her smiles were returned in kind. The bus driver however was absent.

People were slowly filtering in and Lily could've sworn she heard cats entering with them. She glanced to the back rows where Pandorans congregated.

"Do you hear that?" she asked Ophelia, adjusting the wooden bangle around her wrist.

"H-huh? Yeah, I'm fine," Khione replied after catching her breath. She nodded at the offer to hold onto Rex (at least this way she can personally ensure he doesn't run off to trouble again) and kept an iron grip on the dog leash as though clinging for dear life. Even with the leash in her hands, the young ice user was still stiff, mouth taut and body rigid. It made Axel who was seated next to Tavi sigh.

Her worry was evident and she did not know how to voice her concerns without hurting her friend's feelings. She had been against the idea of bringing Rex onto a school trip and tried many times before the trip to convey her concerns. Of course, being weak-willed and afraid of discouraging Tavi, Khione's arguments were almost always in the form of passive murmurings which the Elite waved off as nothing. She mustered up the courage one more time, taking a deep breath before meekly asking, "Tavi, aren't you... aren't you afraid the teachers are going to spot Rex?"

Her eyes fleeted to the teachers who were starting to round students back to the bus. It seemed their break was over.

Post no.6
"Of course I can afford it," Rob said, affronted. "What do you think I am, poor?" He shakes his head, ordering five sausages on sticks and paying for the both of them. Whilst he was perfectly capable of devouring all of them, they were mostly a safety precaution against his two best friends. He glanced around warily. They had a habit of swooping down and stealing his food -the savages sometimes didn't even leave any left for him. Not that he was any better. Speaking of which, since they were going to the beach maybe he could shift into a seagull and steal the foods of innocent passersby. He bet he could get more food than Kaia and Uriah.

"Aren't you excited for the beach? Warm sand, sunshine, building sandcastles, babes in bikinis, beach volleyball....skinny dipping?" He waggled his eyebrows suggestively. Perhaps if Kaia was distracted enough maybe he could even get a girl. Two? Three? Grinning to himself, Rob willfully ignored the fact that they were not in fact on a beach holiday and would probably have to go and kill something/get killed by something. The cat in his hood had woken up, probably from the smell of food, and he was feeding it small morsels. He didn't know what the elite girl was talking about when she gave him it. This cat was cute and perfectly charming just like him- oh wait there it was. He winced, scowling as the cat dug its claws into the back of his neck when he didn't feed it the next piece quick enough. Dickhead. He pulled the thing out of his hoodie by the scruff and glared at it. "Hey you're a dog aren't you Curt?" He didn't take his eyes off the evil demon. "Wanna eat this?"

Before long they were being herded back on the bus. He wondered if he could drop the asshole out of the window.

• Curtis Laucron•
Curtis rolls his eyes, but the faint hint of a smirk on his face shows that it was all in good nature. He chooses to be nice for once and not insult Rob for his lack of neat appearance, which says otherwise to the wealth he implies. "I suppose it is a nice change of scenery," Curtis responds, his arms crossing over his chest. He makes no comment on the girls and the bikinis, the much needed recreational side of things, or the illegal nudity; because unlike Rob, Curtis understands that this is still a school field trip and his pride would never allow him to engaged in such tasteless conversation with Rob of all people.

His brow furrows, seeing the cat in Rob's hood. Dare he ask? "Are your eyes only for show, Daze? I'm human," Curtis says with a touch for annoyance---a common tune sung around Rob. "But if you're talking about my Chimeran form, it's a jackal. Not a dog." He narrows his eyes with a slight growl in his words. "Besides, that's a stupid question. If we're following that logic, shouldn't you be afraid of cats?" He throws the question back at him, but it's not really one he needed an answer to.

Fortunately, before Rob could respond, the teachers began ushering the students back onto the bus, rounding them in like cattle. Curtis is mildly confused, vexed and yet unsurprised to see the Pandorans do their utmost best to sneak the felines on board. Whatever it was, he made a promise to himself not to ask. They were Pandorans after all.

What a pity.

The rest of the drive to their lodgings is uneventful and by the time they reach, it is soon approaching sunset. Looks like the volleyball competition would just have to hold out until tomorrow. It seemed a great misfortune had befell upon the students as the teachers inform them that some of the dorms were now out of service, which meant one of the affiliations would have to camp out in tents instead. The second affiliation would still get some lodging through it would be less accommodating than the original while the third group would be given the rooms originally prepared for the students. Knowing the student body was self governing, the teachers allowed the groups to decide who was going to stay where on their own.

Their short lunch had come to an end and the three Elite Ten members that were somehow on the same bus found themselves seated in their previous seat, at the back. Of course, the presence of a large Golden Retriever was very much attention-grabbing as a small-framed female was holding onto its leash. She was also squished between two large males- one seemed to be lost in thought (or rather, zoned out) while the other busied himself with looking through his items in his bag.

Though Octavius wasn't the brightest tool in the shed, he was definitely not an idiot. From the time they step foot onto the bus until now, he had sensed a cloud of worry veiled over his female friend. He had brought it up several times, both subtly and directly but she had waved it off. He concluded that she was probably not feeling well and would prefer if they reached their lodging as soon as possible. It never once crossed his mind that she was petrified to the bones about getting caught by the teachers for bringing his dog.

Should he have mentioned he already had approval beforehand?

Thinking for a moment, Tavi faced the female on his right before shaking his head, obviously a gesture that signalled her worry never once surfaced in his mind. He then reached into his backpack that was on the floor, looking through his bags of chips things before pulling out a slightly wrinkled up document of sorts- it was the approval letter he had gotten from the Academy to bring along Rex. He handed it to her before saying nonchalantly, "I got the approval a week before the trip."

He then proceeded to lean his hand down before giving Rex a little rub on his head, the canine obviously enjoying it as it panted some more from having chased the cats at the rest area.

He didn't seem to be aware of Khione's reaction after having notified that the teachers knew Rex was coming along.

-----

As soon as the bus halted to a stop with its brakes in place, the doors of said vehicle opened and even the teachers were unable to successfully usher the students out in order. It was as though everyone had one thought in mind and that was, they were finally able to reach land.

While other students seated before them made their way out, Tavi reached into his bag before taking out a pair of beach sandals he had packed specifically. One of the only things he hated about the beach was that his shoes always had sand in them. He then placed his sports shoes into his bag before grabbing ahold of Rex's leash.

"Let's go, Rex." It was as though the Golden Retriever understood what he had said as it barked and wagged its tail before following its master out, onto the beach.

At the announcement of one affiliation having to sleep on the beach, the gentle giant wondered whether Elite Ten members had their own separate dorm to stay in or would they group up with their own affiliations.

Usha Kershaw

Jasmine | Aster Aster | Bus --> Beach

She knew for a fact that she wasn't crazy.

Well, maybe in other manners she was but she knew she was definitely sane in the head. As such, when their lunch break was over, Usha took it upon herself to inspect why in the world the bus smelled almost bad.

The blond didn't usually care about other's business but somehow, many of the students who boarded back on the bus, specifically the Pandorans were acting suspiciously. Somehow along the ride, the bus begin to smell like actual crap. Even the teachers chaperoning the bus she was on and other buses agreed to pull down the windows slightly to air out the smell. This, of course, caused some complaints from the students as the hot air begin to ventilate in the relatively-packed moving vehicle.

Usha assumed it was because she was deep in thought but no one sat next to her. There were an instance or two whereby a Genesis member sat next to her but they retreated just as they saw her face. She guessed it was because her thinking face made her look angry.

When the buses finally reached the beach, Usha Kershaw found herself walking out of the bus and standing next to her affiliation leader. Jasmine was probably one of the only few in Genesis who wasn't scared or in any way, intimidated by Usha. Most probably because she herself could be scary when she's messed with.

"Was it just me or did it smell like actual crap in there?" Usha asked, emphasising on the word 'crap' just as a few cats hopped their way off the bus. One yawned and stretched after landing on the ground, another ran for its life and two more merely sat on the ground, wondering whether they should do now.

"What the fuck..." She mumbled to herself as she spotted a few Pandora members reach into their onesie pouches before pulling out an accompanying feline.

"You what?!" Khione's exclamation ended up being louder than expected. She almost jumped up in surprise, clutching the approval letter in her hands with enough force to crinkle it. Fortunately for Tavi, she did not tear it in half. "Wh-why didn't you tell me this earlier?" Khione's voice dropped into a hissing whisper, embarrassed that she had garnered the curious attention of so many. It was rare to see the usually quiet and timid Elite snap like so.

Exhaling deeply, all the tension left Khione's body as she could finally relax, knowing that Rex was in the green light. "Did you know about this, Rex?" Khione asked the golden retriever with a pout. As if in response, Rex barked happily, leaving Khione to sigh more. "Well, good for you," she smiled wryly, patting the dog on the head as his tail thumped happily against the bus floor.

---

Upon reaching their destination, the Elites were naturally given high class rooms apart from all the affiliations. Khione supposed it was one of the perks of being the strongest. After all, the Elites were likely going to be the next wave of renowned Magisters; but that did not mean she found it fair that she got a luxury hotel room to herself while many others had to sleep in tents. She wondered curiously if she would be allowed to let some of her friends share her room, but then remembered most---if not all---her friends were in the Elite 10.

"Oh well," Khione thought, giving her sympathies to the masses. She could only hope that everything would go smoothly. "I wonder if Axel and Tavi want to grab dinner together," Khione wondered aloud, deciding to check into her hotel room first.

"You'd have your brother to thank for that," Jasmine responded deadpanned, too tired from the mentally taxing ride to comment on Usha's language. "Apparently, he thought it would be a good idea to have the Pandorans sneak a cat onto the bus. If I had known, I would've requested we have the buses sorted in according to affiliations." She sighed, making a mental note to do that next time. The only reason why she had not protested this time was due to the freshmen. The field trip was a good opportunity for others to mix and interact with those outside their affiliations.

"Speaking of your brother, I need to look for him. It seems the living accommodations have been compromised. I'll see you later, Usha." Jasmine patted the blonde on the shoulder before walking into the throng of people in search of the other affiliation leaders. Perhaps they'd draw lots this time to decide who'd be staying where---at least for tonight.
