Fandom Inked Skin (1x1 Wind Breaker w/ lemowiie)

Fujimori Rei

The alarm was loud. Too loud. It made Rei want to throw her phone against the wall of their bedroom. And yet, despite the overwhelming urge to throw their phone against the wall, roll over and go back to sleep, they didn't. Instead, Rei reached out and blindly felt for and tapped on their phone's screen a few times until their alarm turned off. Then they went still. Just for a few seconds. Maybe ten seconds as if they were trying to convinced themselves that getting up was actually worth it. Finally, there was movement. Nothing too fancy; just her slowly moving to sit up as one hand reached up to rub at their eyes. Slow, sluggish and regretting staying up until almost four in the morning trying to speed run an event that was ending later that day. But it had been well worth it.

With a sound that was a mix of a tired groan and a sigh, Rei pushed the covers off of her bed and got up, heading straight to the bathroom to splash face soap and water on her face and try to convince herself that she was somewhat a functioning human being. Even if the human being that stared back in the mirror when the bathroom lights were turned on had bed head like no tomorrow. That's when she noticed it. Ink on her skin. It wasn't there before but it was now. It had always appeared ever since the other one learned how to write. But Rei never wrote back. They had tried a few times, holding a pen and getting it close to their skin before she always chickened out and tossed the pen to the side with shaking hands. That nagging voice was loud as she read the ink on her skin. Whoever is on the other side doesn't deserve such a coward as a soulmate. She knew that. Why are you among the 5%? You can't even write back. Fate was mean like that. You're breaking someone's heart right now.

Rei sighed deeply and finished up. Their hair was brushed, their teeth brushed, face washed because someone would probably scold them if they didn't wash and moisturize their face today. Now all that was left to do was get dressed, have a quick breakfast and then it was off to school. Same old routine, different day. Yet there was comfort to be found in this boring routine. Even if Rei had to ignore their phone for a few minuets while they struggled getting tights on. Texts can wait for a few minuets. Tights could not and school uniforms, especially their school, demanded uniforms to be in perfection. Why is a looser like you even going to such a high end school? Their dad had thrown their name into the lottery, saying it was like a real life gacha. Because it was. Out of all the times to win a gacha. What funny humor the universe seemed to have.

A smile was always the first thing to appear on Tasuku’s face after his morning routine. He always woke up an hour or two early to make sure he could get ready without the stress of being late—after all, what was the point of leaving the house if he wasn’t dressed to the nines every time? His routine was practically the same every day, but it still brought him just as much joy and personal satisfaction! First, he took care of his shower: a very important step, since the Japanese boy couldn’t possibly leave the house unless he smelled like someone who had just looted a perfume magazine. Hygiene was important, and just because he was a guy who occasionally got into fights didn’t mean it was something he neglected. Then he would dry his hair, do his skincare, apply his makeup, and finally put on his uniform. Well, if it were up to him, he’d wear something else—this definitely wasn’t the cutest outfit in his wardrobe, but as the eldest, he had to set an example! He quickly ate his breakfast, tidied up his room, grabbed his things, and eventually stepped out of the house. His routine was pretty comfortable, to be honest. Tasuku had been following it for several years now. Feeling beautiful and doing everything he could to look his best always helped him start the day in a good mood. On the way to Furin, the young man hummed softly until an idea popped into his head. The Furin student quickly rolled up his sleeve, pulled a pen out of his bag, and calmly wrote on his arm, “Apparently it’s going to rain today—bring an umbrella!” He then rolled his sleeve back down and continued on his way to school. Why did he do that, some might wonder? Well, the answer was quite simple. Tsubakino was convinced he was part of the 5% of the population who had a soulmate. It was the name given to people who, when they wrote on their own skin, the writing would appear on the skin of the other. It was a rare phenomenon, and usually these pairs ended up together. A dream come true for a romantic like him! Ever since middle school, he had been writing little messages on his arm now and then, hoping to one day get a response (because yes, he had never received one). So sometimes he found himself having these kinds of one-sided conversations, but he hadn’t given up hope. The young man was walking peacefully on the way to his school when a uniform caught his attention. He had seen it several times and was pretty sure it belonged to Shirayuri, the all-girls’ school. He quickened his pace slightly to catch up to the person wearing it, a smile on his face. “Oh hey! You’re from Shirayuri, right?”

Fujimori Rei

Take an umbrella? Rei glanced at the sky, squinting despite the blinding sunlight before sighing. They could but what if their soulmate was in a whole ass different country? Highly unlikely seeing as whoever was on the other side of the ink had the same general schedule as they did. At least in the same timezone. All too often she had seen good morning messages on her skin right as she woke up, good night messages around a normal person's bedtime when they were deep in a game. Those were between the random messages she'd get throughout the day reminding them to eat, have water, something random this other person saw or thought about. Or random messages about the weather. Their life must be so put together. And what about you? Shaking their head, Rei pushed the thoughts eating their mind away and continued on her morning.

It felt weird to be carrying an umbrella when it was bright and sunny out though the last thing Rei wanted was to get caught someplace she didn't want to be in because of the rain. Like a cafe where the point of said cafe was to talk to people and make friends. A cafe without wi-fi. But if it was to rain later, at least this way they'd be prepared and able to go right home once school and patrols were done for the day. Their headphones were a comfortable weight on their head as they walked, choosing to not play any music today. It was peacefully quiet that morning and Rei wanted to take in the silence before anything too chaotic happened that would probably drain their already very limited social battery.

That is, until someone called out to her.

Turning around, Rei nearly turned into a statue of anxiety and nerves. That uniform was Furin; the sister (brother more like it) school of her school, Shirayuri. Their students patrolled together, painted over graffiti and just helped out where needed as needed together. The only difference was Furin were the guys who threw their fists around. Shirayuri not so much but that wouldn't have mattered anyways. Still, Rei couldn't help but grow wide eyed in both shock and surprise. This person wearing the Furin uniform...was beautiful. His voice suggested he was a guy though the makeup, skirt and heels could have suggested otherwise. Speak idiot! He asked you a question!! Oh right! "Y-yea-yeah..." Rei answered, quickly looking away to avoid being called rude for staring as their hands found their hair. What a great first impression.
