Ended up returning to my character sheet for edits sooner than I had meant to. But I had been looking at the other characters again and began worrying about Koodoo not having enough room to grow, and possibly being too powerful too early, so I went and cut back their agility-based abilities, and I may still try to wind back her miasma as well and place more concrete limitations on it than just "uses tons of energy and so she needs to go inactive frequently when using it". Also took the time to add a bit more to Marie's personality and backstory.

I'm really not sure why I feel the need to put these updates here when I change things, but it seems like good practice just so that at least Gnome is aware when things change a bit >-<

I'll have a quick peek before I go off to bed!

And dropping an update in the main chat is a good idea honestly, means all of us who are interested in checking in on these sort of things can do, as you rightly pointed out. As for Koodoo needing room to grow, honestly even if she wasn't overpowered I think that's a good thing to implement. The journey is the best part and all that goodness.

I, too, have made very minor edits to Emery's sheet, in addition to filling in the notes on armour.

On the topic of stat scaling, what would 1 point on energy be like? I'd sort of assumed that it would be around one or two hours max with Eudocia standing around and doing nothing, maybe thirty or twenty minutes during battle, ten at most when using extensive abilities without a few minutes' break in between, and it immediately disappearing from exhaustion should it use one of its stronger attacks (ie. untargeted intense sensory experience from seventy ft. away, the 'pulse' radiating outwards in all directions — though it would only be able to do even that in a moment of desperation).

As Gnome said, it's a good idea. Since it's not a new post, we would never get notifications that new information has been added.

I've expanded upon the energy explanation in the character sheets thread, hopefully it should answer you questions!

Ah, so Wumsy must rest every 16 hours for 6 hours to maintain full energy. Essentially 22 hour days, if they only rested for what was required.

For the most part, I'll just write with Wumsy being out, and assuming there's rest somewhere between scenes.

Question for everybody, where exactly would you guys like to start?

I'm currently outlining an intro and the game plan is that we'll all be meeting at Sydney base for the first time, and assigned into a squad together. Prior to this you'll have been resurrected (duh) and had a few months to find your footing and adjust a bit at the respective base for wherever you were killed. The training you'll already have under your belt on arrival is minimal, but crucial. You'll have had some practice at summoning and desummoning your Champion (This may come easy to some characters, especially if their Champion really wants to hang out), some very basic combat and firearms training and the same basic ICE service brief as all other staff (Covering health and safety basics, chain of command, etc).

I feel like having the first day basically just being our characters introducing themselves to one another and exploring their new life, facilites, lodging, etc, makes sense. After that they'll be thrown into the deep end of training. Incarnate simulations, combat simulations against other teams in training, that sort of thing. I don't want this phase to linger on forever so we'll move into more active phase soon enough, but they'll still be down time and training in all sorts of areas to keep up, whether on screen or not.

If you have any opinions on ways to proceed that are better than this, ideas you'd like to add, or literally anything else then just hit me up. Always happy to hear you guys out, even if I don't add it.

I appreciate it, though honestly for me it makes things rather more confusing than I was expecting. At least, when it was said initially those stats were more of a quick reference for approximately comparing across incarnates, but now there are hard numbers attached there. Though I know that helps some people, I suppose..

Could start us off with an emergency. Something that requires us to immediately enter combat. Something not so crazy that our newbie group couldn't handle with relative ease. It would give everyone a chance to showcase their incarnates, as well as help forge bonds between us right off the bat.

A few more questions before we start:

1. What does it feel like to summon a Champion? Is it like a pull? A poof? Differs between people?

2. Does the energy limit physically and/or mentally tire the summoner out or is it just about their Champion? Would they be able to feel the drain?

3. Are Champions aware when they're not out? To what extent?

So we're delayed until tomorrow, wasn't happy with the intro I wrote today so I've scrapped it. Sorry all! Got a few hours between lessons tomorrow though so I'll write up a new starter then.

As for starting us off with an emergency, that was sort of the plan for getting us out of the training phase but I suppose I could push things forward even further. We'll see!

I like to think it'll be somewhat unique to each person. I'll let you all give your summon a little unique flare, provided it's nothing too insane. No heart wrenching renditions of careless Whisper or anything like that.

As for the drain, you'd be able to feel your energy running out but it won't physically drain you.

They are aware, but are only able to use their humans senses to observe their surroundings.

Tbf despite their being some hard numbers it'll still be kinda losey goosey in the rp. It's not like I'm gonna have a clock counting down every minute that passes within roleplay. Don't worry too much about it, I'll be able to mediate any concerns here.

The rp is up, go check it out my friends! Added a link to the top of all the existing threads.
You could not have had better timing. You literally got that up as I finished my day, so I was able to get a post out rather quickly.

Also, for anyone besides Nico Moore that would be interested in either having an interaction with Wumsy, or just mentioning seeing them as it wanders the halls, feel free to do so. Wumsy is just randomly wandering around.

Brutal from Wumsy there 😆

Haha. Nico is just some random dude walking around. It makes it easier, though. If they were interesting, I'd have to either ask you to write in an interaction with Wumsy, or just have them not see Nico. But I want Wumsy to see everyone, even if they don't all see them.

I've started writing but unsurprisingly I'm not great at this and it's going slowly with how much thinking I have to do. Hopefully it will be done by the end of the day, though >.<

I used to be like that. Spent a lot of time formating and proofreading as well. But now my time is very limited. No real formating, and no proofreading either. :p

Take your time. No rush. Don't be intimidated just because I rushed mine out.

And I suppose this would mostly be a matter of whether Wumsy decides the inactive plushie form of Koodoo is interesting enough. They won't be active for now, and Marie herself doesn't stand out too much apart from being a bit of a mess right now ^^;

Unless they're doing something, instead of just going through the motions and following orders, it's unlikely Wumsy will take interest. Though they will pay attention to any names said, as well as any other information mentioned.

Wumsy is there if you want to have an interaction, or just mention seeing them wandering about. I really just wanted to highlight their independence from Dayquan. But it's also an opportunity if anyone wants. Not necessary, though. You don't even have to have anyone see Wumsy.

Put up my first post, hopefully it's good enough.
This is draining >-<
It was a lovely read! Please don't burn yourself out.

I love the developing sense of caution, even fear, everyone has towards incarnates. Especially with how so many people have been escorting Marie & Nico compared to Dayquan, since he didn't have his incarnate with him. It kinda makes it really funny that Wumsy is just wandering around and doing what it wants. XD

I also love how, so far, each post is adding a little more detail to the forest.

Also, that scene where Marie chucks the plushie is quite funny. XD

Gnomar Gnomar Can incarnates communicate through telepathy with their human? I noticed Echo had them communicate in thought. At least I assume, given the italics. I was wondering if that is something they should be able to do? Or is it limited to some?

I never gave it thought before, but it'd be fun to have Wumsy feed Dayquan information about the other newbies. Though I also like the dynamic of people hearing Wumsy give Dayquan orders. Like a reverse role where the incarnate is in charge. Though, even if they could communicate telepathically, I could always make Wumsy prefer audible speech.

That's fair to ask. It was something I had included on Koodoo's sheet, but I won't pretend that wasn't like 80% just so she could continue tormenting Marie even while not properly summoned ^^; The other 20% is probably so that the two can better act as scouts, moving information around insomuch as Koodoo actually cooperates, which is very little.

Basically I never really thought about it being a practical tool, and I can limit it to when Koodoo isn't summoned if that's better.

I think it being a practical tool depends on the incarnate. Someone as intelligent as Wumsy, especially with their high energy stat, can scout extremely far away and report without returning. Although, they're also capable of using communication equipment, as well as teleporting back in an instant to report. So it's not like it's overpowered or anything.
