Cameron never minded the attention he got, because she got plenty of her own. A few years after she was born, her younger twin siblings came along as well, Rory and Robbie. Her parents, being perfectionists themselves, always put pressure on their children to be the best they could be.

It was this pressure that broke Lucas. As a teen, he started acting out. Smoking, drugs, drinking, partying-- he did it all without question. He quickly became the black sheep of the family; their parents were openly ashamed of him and his actions. He didn't care. Cameron felt the extra pressure to be good and perfect for her family, so that's what she did. Lucas dropped out of school and moved out at sixteen, and her parents couldn't find him. Everything fell onto Cam's shoulders.

If she hadn't become friends with Anna, she might have snapped. Anna was truly the glue that held everyone together, and that included Cam's mental stability. Still, the pressure of being perfect is alot to bear. After graduating high school, she went away to college, and is currently a senior majoring in education and minoring in music and child care. Personality:
To those who know his parents, Micah is quite like a mixture of his mother and father. To those who don't know his parents, no matter.

Micah is a big proponent of flirting. However, like his father, he has a distaste for those who only like him for his looks, so he finds himself in a bit of a rut, since he also appreciates a pretty face and long legs. Much of his jokes and flirting stem from this paradox, as well as jokes about the possibility of following in his father's footsteps (though everyone outside his family assume he's referring to being a bartender). He is capable of taking things seriously, but he would rather lighten the mood then let the air hang heavy around him. If he feels he can find a laugh to be had, in class or in a sad situation, he will take the chance.

From his mother's influence, Micah is quite defensive for others, especially those who find themselves teased for any differences they may possess. He himself is immune to jabs about his own quirkiness and his narcolepsy, but he cannot stand for insults against members of his family or his friends. Even strangers have been on the receiving end of Micah's "noble" side. Micah's jokes, in that moment, take a dark turn, turning the tables on the bully so they feel ashamed for their actions. "It's a start," his mother has said, "but you need to tone it down so no one walks away with their head down."

Micah is well known for his loyalty to his family and friends. This is partially why he hid his feelings for his best friend's girlfriend--what kind of jerk would he be if he made a move, as much as he wanted to? However, he is also known for his forgetfulness (the topic of many of his in-class jokes), so he often had to explain to teachers where his homework was or why he had forgotten to bring his textbook that day. (Really, he was lucky he didn't get in so much trouble.) His mother told him it was probably due to a sleep-addled brain, affected by his narcolepsy, but he likes to think it's a fatal flaw.

History

History:
Micah was born the firstborn son of a former stripper and a former drug addict. His parents' love story was one of those heartwarming ones that you want to gag at, but it's so cute you love it anyway. But let's not get into that now.

Micah grew up in the loving atmosphere of his parents, as well as his Aunt Skylie, who lived with them until she got married herself and had a son. So, Micah and Jared, his cousin, played together often as they grew up, along with the children of their parents' friends. At a very young age, Micah came to understand love through the affectionate glances and touches shared between his parents, his aunt and uncle, and all their friends. And so, he came to value the time spent with his family, even hugging his father out of nowhere whenever he seemed to be having a tiring day. And he knew tiring days.

His mother, Naomi (called Nomika by his father), was born with a condition known as narcolepsy, which causes sleepiness. as a child, he didn't quite understand why his mother was constantly sleeping or would be able to fall asleep anywhere and in a manner of seconds... not until he showed signs of the same condition. Although it has not been proven that narcolepsy is genetic, Micah seemed to have inherited a more mild form of the condition. If he is tired, he will fall asleep, so he has to make sure he gets a good night's sleep. Neither of his younger siblings, born when he was two and five respectively, have the condition, which therefore caused Micah to grow close to his mother out of empathy.

As he grew into his teenage years, Micah was slowly keyed into stories from his parents' pasts. Cole, his father, often told him of his grandmother, whom he would never meet, as she died when Cole was a teenager. He then went into how he used to be a stripper (which Micah found amusing, but not surprising--some of his parents' interactions suggested something along those lines), and Nomika told him how she was once addicted to narcotic drugs. Micah understood and did not judge his parents. It was their sharing of their pasts that allowed Micah to learn what he wanted to do for himself. And as he went through middle and high school, he began to show facets of personality from both of his parents, to their surprise.

In high school, Micah started to become a comedian of sorts. (His parents' friend, Ivy, would have been proud, being a stand-up comic herself.) He made jokes in class that even teachers appreciated, while also defending others from the harsh taunts and jokes of bullies. he couldn't stand people that would make fun of others based on how they look or act, especially seeing as his mother and Uncle Elias had suffered from such taunts when they children. Micah was the type of boy who flirted shamelessly, and didn't seem to truly care about others, until you saw him in action trying to make a stranger smile.

Even now, he's not quite sure how it happened, but he met the eight most important people in his life in high school. Through them, Micah finally understood Cole and Nomika and Skylie's stories about their friends and how amazing they were. Micah loved his friends, and every day was fantastic with them around. He was especially close to Leo, who he affectionately called "your highness" to his face. They were practically opposites, and they didn't always see eye to eye, but everyone knew they were best friends. Micah would do anything for him... anything.

Unfortunately, his friend wasn't exactly a faithful boyfriend. His longstanding girlfriend, Alana, didn't know, but rumors had it that Micah's best friend looked at other girls. Micah didn't want to ruin their relationship, but a part of him yearned to tell her. As things went on, he realized he was developing feelings for Alana. He distracted himself from these feelings, despite the petty part of him saying he'd be more faithful, he'd treat her right. In fact, he'd once asked Anna, their mom friend, what he should do, but she'd just smiled and told him he could figure it out.

His solution? Bury those feelings and pretend they didn't exist.

This was unhealthy for him, definitely. In fact, it was exactly what had happened to his father and mother (minus the boyfriend part). He found it funny, actually, that he was following in their footsteps. What next? Was he going to start working as a stripper? (Spoiler alert: no.) Micah ignored his feelings and kept joking around, flirting with other girls in school, dating a few, breaking up with them, wash, rinse, repeat. Though he enjoyed his high school years and time with his friends, there was a part of him that wanted escape from this torture, from watching him hold her hand when there was someone else who wouldn't hurt her. And yet, he continued straddling this line between love and hate for his best friend. Oh, how fickle the human heart could be.

Graduation came and went, as did the post-grad trip with his best friends. Somehow, they just seemed to lose touch after that. Micah went on to college to study education. His Uncle Zeke's wondrous ability to bring smiles to children's faces had inspired him, and since he was a funny man anyway, he figured, why not? So he made it through college with the support of his parents, siblings, aunt, uncles, and cousins.

His feelings for her remained, though he also began an on-and-off relationship with a childhood friend, Rafaella, the daughter of his father's best friend. They were a bit explosive to watch, but Micah liked it. It was better than hoping for something that wouldn't ever come to fruition. So he continued his strange relationship with her.

Then, after his first full year of graduate school to get his master's degree... he received the worst news in the world.

And now he'll have to face the people he hasn't talked to in years.

Personality: Leonard had always been known for the air of confidence that he always carried whenever people saw him. He carried himself with pride. And oftentimes, this crossed over to the point of arrogance. He's only ever arrogant when he knows he can back what he says and does up - because then he could savor the feeling of flipping the table at someone and watching them cower as he proves himself right once again. And when someone does badmouth him, it's almost always assured that Leonard will find a way to twist things around so that he comes out on top. It's where his position has always been and will always be - Leonard doesn't have any plans of falling down any time soon. If it means having to work for it, then he would damn well do it.

He knows how to skirt his way around conversations, how to make himself look good at all times. It's how he had held his position for so long and how he intends to keep it that way. Sure, there are does that don't agree with him but he brushes them off. No need to dwell on the people who wouldn't really matter in the long run. But this does lead to him creating more shallow relationships than genuine. It's hard for him to feel intimate with somebody - to completely trust somebody like you would a friend. Sure, he would hang around people and mess around with them but he finds it very hard to feel any sort of connection that runs deeper than the surface level. It had been an entirely foreign concept to him until he had met the group, and even then, it took him a while to completely warm up to them.

Leonard despises showing any sort of weakness and as such, never shows them. Even to the people he trusts, Leonard doesn't budge. Whether it is fear of judgement or fear of losing everything he worked so hard to build up, the reasoning behind this feeling had never been clear. Not that he spent actual time to think about this. This has caused him to internalize a lot of his problems with no other medium to vent it out than running. He doesn't easily show chinks in his armor even to his closest friends and he really doesn't like it when someone begins to be a tad bit too nosy into his personal life.

Bio: Leonard was born into richness. Growing up with a silver spoon had given him more privilege than others, one that he had exploited a lot during his childhood - and admittedly, sparingly as he grew up. Still, it was such a waste not to use his money for himself after all. He got things handed to him on a silver platter. No matter what he wanted, as long as it could be bought by money, it was quickly given to him. It was hard not to grow up spoiled when you lived in his family and honestly, Leonard had been a very spoiled kid. However, as he grew up, he found himself needing to prove people wrong whenever they said he just depended on his last name and his parents' money. Frankly, he hated it when people just keep on telling him that he, by himself, is practically a nobody. Leonard wasn't going to stand for that.

Life had been good. Sure, he had to move a few pieces here and there. Sure, he wasn't exactly forming meaningful relationships with other students. But hey, at least he wasn't at the bottom of the food chain and suffering there right? Leonard could say that he was happy enough. He had a good time - making friends, getting girlfriends, winning medals. And it continued like that for years before he met this group of friends. Completely accidental, he swears on his life. He was partnered up with Anna on a science project and he wasn't going to ditch her to make it by herself. He could, but she was too sweet. So, they grew closer during that time and once it was over, they remained friends. And through her, he got to know the current group and even met the most popular girl in the school. Weirdly enough, he actually did start seeing them as friends. They were all too different, yes, but they somehow worked out.

Highschool came and went. Leonard had pursued a degree in athletic training. It had been no secret that he loved sports and he wouldn't mind a career of coaching people on how to do sports and not get injured in the process. He could always start small with education but he was planning on working for a couple of years and then trying for physical therapy so he can get into bigger leagues. Being a highschool coach hadn't been part of his plans for the future - no one expected it to be - but he made it work. On the sideline, he helped his older brother and his family with their business to keep the income flowing. But with the sudden news of Anna's death, Leonard dropped it all for two weeks to fulfill Anna's wish. It was the least he could do for her after all.

Nevertheless, he allows the boy to aid in business dealings every now and then through his other son. It is no secret that Leonard doesn't like him very much.

Sarah Mae Drestback | Mother | 52 | Once upon a time, Sarah was known for both her beauty and cleverness. Somewhere along the way, however, she had fallen under the influence of alcohol. Now constantly inebriated, Sarah is typically only ever in the house with a glass or even a bottle in her hands. However, her tongue is still as sharp when you catch her sober. Leonard is somewhat disappointed in his mother's transformation but loves her nonetheless.

Christian Xander Drestback | Older Brother | 29 | Christian tried to be a good influence on his brother but ended up overshadowing him in all senses. Leonard wouldn't go as far as saying he hates his brother but he views him more as competition rather than a brother. Lately, the two have been working on their familial relationship due to the influence of Anna all those years ago.

Vanessa Creselia Drestback | Younger Sister | 22 | Vanessa may have been the closest family member to Leonard. There's a silent understanding between the two of them. Leonard would have never admitted it but he had sought a friend after his separation from the group and Yvette came to save him from spiraling back to what he was. There seems to be an unspoken relationship between the two of them that they haven't talked about yet. Anna died before they could solidify anything. They decided to just keep it at friends for now.

Cameron Rollins | Friend | 22 | They had gotten along with each other for the time that they were in their peer group. However, they weren't particularly close. Simply two people in the same friend group. Nothing much. Until a certain event that stuck with Leonard for all these years. Nearing the end of their senior year when exams were coming up and projects were piling up, he had been partnered up with Cameron. Knowing the girl's tendency towards good grades, Leonard had devised of a semi-concrete plan on making their lives easier on their project and booked it towards her house. He'd gone over at multiple points so her parents had no qualms in letting him in and telling him that Cameron was in her room. So he headed up and entered, announcing his presence just as he opened the door. And there she was, blade at hand dangerously close to her wrist. He couldn't tell you how he managed to calm her down from her breakdown but he was thankful for it. He stayed over to make sure she's completely alright. Ever since then, he's gotten the habit of checking her wrist whenever they saw each other. Unfortunately, graduation came and they fell out of contact. He sometimes wonders about her well being and hopes she's doing alright.

Micah Elias McKinney | Best Friend | 23 | Micah was, without a doubt, the closest person to Leonard. His joking and honest demeanor earned great admiration from Leonard, not that he ever admitted it out loud. Leonard often found himself able to calm down around him and not think of what he needs to do, and simply let the motions take him. He was and will never be irritated with Micah's overly affectionate behavior towards him and will back him up if need be. He's gotten to the point of being invited over to Micah's house repeatedly and practically being adopted by the McKinney family - something he is still fascinated with, how quickly they had accepted him. He truly did enjoy his time with Micah and would happily recount to you the amount of times Micah was a good person. Though, a few things he does regret is the fact that he stood between Micah and Eden. He wasn't stupid enough to not notice Micah's feelings - the boy was easy to understand after all - and Leonard did believe that Micah would be a better option than himself - painful to admit but true nonetheless - so he was waiting for Micah to confront him about it. But this may have contributed to emotionally distancing himself from them and it may have ended poorly. Nevertheless, Leonard sees Micah as a great friend and regrets losing contact with him. He has tried to reach out several times but stops himself out of fear of Micah not feeling the same.

Lorelai Sabrina Laurent | Friend | 22 | Lorelai was the person Leonard always turned to when it came to school work help. While he wasn't necessarily bad at his studies, he was still aiming for a higher grade than what he had. Who better to ask than Lorelai herself? The tutoring sessions they had were fond to think back to and he does do his best to help her when she starts to become curious about something. He had a crush on her once before, while he was in a relationship with Eden but it was born more out of desperation as he tried to think of anything else other than Eden's inevitable speech of breaking up with him - which happened ironically because he was trying to prepare for it. Eugene Wyatt Treat | Friend | 23 | You would have never expected Leonard and Wyatt to ever be friends. Even if they were in the same friend group, you'd think that Leonard would just ignore the buck teeth boy. But he didn't. You could say that Wyatt basically became Leonard's pet project. He was aware that changing his appearance wouldn't do Wyatt any good if he didn't change in the inside, so that's where Leonard put all his focus to. To give Wyatt more self-esteem. Leonard was also made aware of Wyatt's financial status which made it difficult to fix his fashion sense and it was regrettable that they graduated before he could see any real progress. backstory: Caydon was born into a family that was cursed to always fuck up. His dad bounced when he and his older sister were just kids. His sister, Calliope was older than him by 2 years and basically raised him. His mom was always working and never around to spend time with any of her kids. It was always just him and Cali. He barely knew his father, him having split when he was just a year old. His sister barely remembered him and didn't care to anyway. He spent his days, running throughout the town, getting into trouble and building up walls that his sister always broke down. Then came high school and the 'incident'. The 'incident' was that his sister then got pregnant, with his nephew Joseph. The dad who was his best friend, he trusted with his sister became an asshole and said that the child probably wasn't his as his sister with a nature like his own, partied a lot. Caydon never let anyone disrespect his sister, even if it was someone he trusted. So he beat him bad, that he had to be hospitalized. He was just a freshman and was sent to juvenile for the rest of his freshmen year. He came back different and much darker, but if you needed to find drugs, liquor, or anything.

Caydon was the boy to go to, then the time that Anna came to him even when the rest of the school was scared of him. She managed to break down the walls that he had spent his whole life building up. He became apart of the 'group' where he met the perfect girl, Cameron. The only other girl who tried to break down his walls but never could. A year after leaving high school. He managed to get a girl, Varla pregnant. At first, he and Varla tried to be good parents and a couple but it became too much for Varla. BACKSTORY—.
⌲ zemora was born to gene shelbia and ayelet shelbia on december fourteenth, her wide eyes opening within a hospital room and surrounded by her parents and relatives. she was a christmas miracle to a couple that had struggled for so long to bear a child.

⌲ she finds herself returning to the hospital multiple times, her mother confined to a hospital bed each and every time. she's too young to understand anything aside from what her father tells her: "mama isn't feeling too well, zee. she's going to go away soon."

⌲ ayelet shelbia passed when her daughter was only four years old. grief-stricken, the widowed father and his daughter migrated to the united states to start anew. zemora had difficulty adjusting to the foreign language and culture, and was prone to emotional outbursts because of this.

⌲ it wasn't until her father met alana's ( the it-girl ) mother, diane, that zemora finally allowed herself to properly adjust. her and alana became quick friends, and after three years of their parents dating, they could officially call one another sisters.

⌲ though it took her several years to become comfortable with the english language and culture, zemora excelled in her education. she had always perceived her mother's dying wishes to be that zemora was happy and successful, so she intended to see through those wishes and be at the top. for all thirteen years of schooling, her name was among the top students.

⌲ high school was a tumultuous time for the girl. alana, who had been at her side since they'd first began attending the same school, had fallen in with a more popular setting than zemora was comfortable with. the people that her sister hung out with saw zemora as more of a free homework ticket than a person, and she often spent hours upon hours at night, finishing assignments for students that would pay her to do so.

⌲ it wasn't until later in her freshmen year that alana introduced zemora to her group of friends, seven other people with varying personalities that seemed to all work well together. though she was hesitant at first, she fit right in, and even went so far as to have a brief crush on leonard before he and alana began to date. all was well for the girl, and she held high hopes for her remaining years of high school.

⌲ though zemora had her group of friends that she could trust and confide in, there was still peers that detested her every action. one night, she had caught a stomach virus that left her attached to her toilet nearly every ten minutes. unfortunately, she'd been paid that morning by a member of the football team to complete his homework for the following day. when he learned that she hadn't completed it, he and two of his teammates ambushed her in the school parking lot. they tore her book-bag apart, ripping her textbooks and breaking her supplies in half. as distraught as she was, zemora hadn't told a single soul what happened, and instead gathered as much money as she could to replace everything that night.

⌲ from that moment forward, zemora refused any offers of payment for homework, which gave her the cold shoulder and a deadly glare by many of the popular kids in the hallways and classes. however, her decision benefit her own grades further, and gave her room to even apply for an internship at the mayor's office.

⌲ zemora graduated high school alongside her friends, with the valedictorian title, with her associate's degree, and with a scholarship to yale university. though leaving her friends was difficult for her, she happily welcomed her new future at an ivy league university.

⌲ she graduated yale with a double master's in political science and business, and with a perfect record and lengthy recommendations, zemora is now a secretary to the ambassador of israel, a steady job with a generous pay.

even though they were the same age, alana took on the role of the bigger sister. protecting zemora from any mean girls (as often as she could), trying to help her become more social, introducing her to her group of friends and other things of the sort. and the girls remained close despite their very opposite personalities.

throughout high school, alana became somewhat close to leo so when the two began dating it wasn't a surprise to their other friends. they had their ups and downs which is what made alana confide in leo's best friend, micah, for advice. it was during this time that alana started to notice a connection with micah, again, one she knew she could never act on. she convinced herself that this was just a misinterpretation and that was she felt was merely friendship but was it really?

it didn't matter because she and leo's arguments and lack of communication caused their break up during their post graduation mountain trip. this split between the couple lasted roughly two and a half years before they reconnected when they happened to run into one another at a sports game (i'm thinking baseball).

Born from a Polish father and an American mother She spent the first parts of her childhood in Poland before moving to the US. Mari was raised mostly by her father with her mother leaving the picture before she was old enough to remember all that well. This left the at the time, young man to limit himself to work jobs that weren't far from home so he could both work full-time and raise a daughter. This meant the two did move home to be closer to new jobs a lot of the time, and while the two didn't live in the lap of luxury they always managed to scrape up enough to get by over the years. Because of how busy her father would get, Mari is a naturally independent person. She'd rather struggle to do a thing herself than bother someone else for help.

She moved from school to school with each time her father would find the next job to jump to so she ended up being the permanent new kid with a strange accent. Leaving for the next place before she could truly settle in this left her with a devil may care attitude to making friends. Have fun. Talk about yourself as little as possible. Don't get attached. You dont have to wish goodbyes when you dont have close friend to do it with, right?

This became routine for her until her senior years of high school where she managed to stay long enough to actually keep a group of friends during her time there, mostly thanks to Anna making her feel welcome. Bio:
Tyler's parents weren't exactly apathetic when it came to their son, but they weren't on top of him every second, either. He's an only child, but makes friends easily, so never really had the issue of loneliness. While his parents smoked marijuana daily, they always told him they didn't want him smoking until he was older. Of course he didn't listen; he smoked for the first time at seven years old. Of course he had no idea what he was doing, and he didn't like it back then, so he didn't touch it again for years. When his parents weren't smoking, they were fighting, so the older he got the more time he spent away from home.

He picked smoking pot back up in middle school, when he started dating Traci. The two of them dated throughout middle school and even into high school some. They broke up when he caught her making out with someone on the football team, which is part of the reason why he hates jocks. That and he seemed to always be picked on by the jocks and their counterparts. He started hanging out with the 'loser' crowd, but he never minded being seen as one. He stayed single throughout the end of his high school career, though there was one person he had his eye on.

Despite this, he disappeared after high school and actually went to college, making sure he went somewhere where no one would recognize him. He cut his hair and built himself up, and even graduated early. He works in marketing now, but the little stoner that he was born as would always be inside of him.
