The moment Lillian found herself on a rock, instead of plummeting, she knew her theory had been confirmed, he wasn't going to let her die period. The anger in his next words, however, would quickly inform her that suffering would be perfectly allowed. Letting out a slight yelp as she fell back off of the rock, arms flailing comically. A little grunt on the landing after, pain jolting through at the impact... Though instead of getting up right away to answer, she just laid there for a moment staring at the sky... before laughing at how ridiculous the situation was.

"Alright, F.U," Lillian started, as she picked herself back up a little. Using an abbreviation of sorts instead of his name, for now... Still wincing slightly as she thought of the word. Her tone was a little more... arrogant than one might have expected a human girl to be in this kind of situation, with a being such as he towering over her. "Maybe I was a little hasty there, and I guess you're right hiding would be better. But you need to understand too, I'm not a mind reader! I know you can't communicate very well, and sorry about that, but it's going to take some work in this okay?"

"And I wouldn't recommend letting me break my bones. Compound fractures, infection, there are a lot of ways for a broken bone to kill off a human. Sure it would be slow and painful as hell for me, but I'd still end up dead all the same."
She pointed out, having a feeling he wasn't going to like that either.

"Oh and if you want a cave, unless you've got me all ass backwards in this forest, there should be one over that way." It would take her a second, or two, to orient herself before pointing off in a direction she believed she knew more of the forest in. This was her home after all...
[/div]

Instead of responding with annoyance or fear as he had expected, she laid out on the ground and laughed. His eyes filled with literal flames and he growled softly. This human was getting on his nerves quite quickly.

She began speaking, and he didn’t really listen to most of it, not caring about her troubles or her worries. He didn’t even listen to the part about injuries eventually killing her, which could lead to some problems in the future. After being locked away for so long he had forgotten about how fragile their kind was.

When she spoke about the cave he finally listened. Looking over, he stood up. He could see it in the distance and nodded. Getting back down on all six limbs, he walked away. He got about two huge steps away from her before his chest glowed and he was pulled backwards. It was just enough to knock him off balance and sent him crashing into the ground,

Getting up slowly, he shook himself off, trying to walk away. It didn’t work, and he felt a pull on his body, as if he were attached to a wagon like a mule or a horse. He snarled, digging his claws into the ground and pushing. He finally started to move ahead.

Meanwhile, Lillian’s eyes had become purple, and she was slowly being dragged in the same direction that Fuudien was pulling.

Initially Lillian was pretty startled when he tried walking away, only to fall over as he did. Wobbling slightly from the way the ground trembled on impact, not sure what to make of it all. Doubting greatly that actually asking would get her anywhere, considering he didn't seem very concerned about anything aside from her last words there. So she was just going to let it go... until things continued to be strange, the way he was pulling away as though trapped.

The bond. The thought hit her hard, almost as hard as the sudden force did when he managed to push his way through it, moving forward. Lillian yelped, loudly, when she herself was pulled forward by it. Unable to keep her balance, at least initially, the drag along the ground was extremely strange. The speed wasn't so great as to cause her pain, yet nothing about it felt usual. It would take her a moment to manage to get back up, considering he didn't seem to be stopping...

"You do remember we're stuck together right!?" She shouted, actually kind of jogging a little there to try and keep up with him better... Which might have been a bit shocking to him since that would mean any resistance to his forward momentum would suddenly be gone.

"And struggling like that is the opposite of resting!" It was like he was trying to sabotage himself or something!
[/div]

Suddenly his resistance was gone and he fell forward, breaking even more trees. He had to have destroyed half of the forest at this point from all his stomping, falling, and temper tantrums.

Rising, he looked down, seeing her jogging. Then it occurred to him that the bond might be pickier than he expected. His thought were reinforced when his chest glowed and he was pushed backwards, where he landed curled around the spot where she was standing. If she was still jogging, she would have run straight into his massive stomach.

He let out a deep, frustrated sigh and sat up. He sat back for a little and thought, tilting his head now and then as he stared at her. He could use his magic to make her into something easier to control... Then he thought about the bond. He frowned. Perhaps if his intention was not to harm her and it did not harm her, then it would work.

Taking a deep breath, he blew down on her. The air was red, and crackled around her. She felt an odd feeling before she was on the ground again, having been knocked down by the transformation. Except... she didn’t transform. Now she had a cat tail and two cat’s ears on top of her head, but she wasn’t completely a cat.

Fuudien coughed, hacking up a lot of blood this time. He killed a whole little area of trees before sitting back up and looking down at her. Blood dripped from his mouth.

Of course it hadn’t worked. In his hurry to get control of her he had forgotten his own weakness.

Now weaker than ever, he took deep, labored breaths. It wasn’t necessarily that he needed to breath, the breathing just helped his body maintain balance. He could feel his body begging for a nice dip in a lake of lava, or a shower of fire. There were many places in hell were he could go to easily rejuvenate himself. He would have tried to open a portal there, but he wasn’t sure if the bond would let him and he knew he wasn’t strong enough to. His weakness showed physically on his body, thin cracks appearing on his ash-colored body, the red parts that looks like flames dying down until they barely glowed red.

Leaning down, he opened his hand to her, four of his eight eyes completely back, the others glowing with red specks instead of flames. He didn’t have time to argue with her and he couldn’t wait for her to walk beside him. So he did the first nice thing he had ever done in his life and politely asked her to step into his hand without saying anything.

His other hand gently touched her tail, the pointed to the sky. He tried to tell her that the magic would wear off sometime that day, since his magic was weak. If it didn’t, he would get rid of it when he was better... if she stepped into his hand.

It was odd to see him so calm and almost submissive, like he was a completely different person.

There would be a grunt from Lillian when she ran smack dab into him when he ended up curled about her in that strange way, an omph followed as she once more fell to the ground. Honestly between being picked up, licked, and falling to the ground she was just completely done with today. It was just a really, really, bad day, and that wasn't even to mention this bond thing. She had been about ready to make some kind of a suggestion when the breath hit, shielding her face in surprise, wondering how he was doing that when he supposedly couldn't hurt her...!

Except it wasn't painful, though it did tingle a little bit. A strange blend of displeasure, and fascination, as she wondered what he might have been doing really. Not liking the idea of him just spontaneously doing something to her, yet that damned curiosity that got her into all of this unrelenting as it wanted to see the outcome. Glancing around for a moment to figure it out, only to catch sight of her own tail as it flicked into view. Lillian would literally spin around in an almost twirl as she tried to get a better look of it, grabbing it halfway in the motion and just kind of staring at it. The brown fuzzy thing, yelping a little when she squeezed a little too hard.

This had to be the absolutely cutest thing she had ever had happen to her with magic, and she hadn't even noticed the ears yet! Once more her words would be stopped by the hand of the demon being set down, blinking over to him only for her eyebrows to furrow slightly. He looked... off, and that was oddly concerning. Not because she wanted him to get up and reign terror on people or anything, it was just an uncomfortable shift. Any sane person might have considered it a welcome one.

Deciding, for once, not to be her sassy self she would begrudgingly step into the hand, getting the message loud and clear. Besides, a giant rotting demon corpse would have probably been worse for the environment than his movements alone were being.

"We're almost there so you can get your cat-nap." Okay maybe there was room for some extra sass after all.
[/div]

He saw her frown at his appearance, noticing he looked different. It clearly took effort to not make a comment or sass him when she stepped into his hand. He very carefully lifted her up, lumbering slowly toward the cave.

She ended up making a comment anyways, making him smile just a bit. She was stubborn and it amused him. At least she had a little part of her he liked.

They reached the cave in no time, he reached inside, putting her down. The entrance was small and he didn’t want to harm her when he squeezed in. Crawling in, the cave entrance scraped gashes into his shoulders and sides with its sharp hanging rocks. His blood dripped down his sides and arms.

He finally made it inside and licked the ground, using the blood dripping from his throat. The ground sizzled disintegrating. It formed a little area of soft ashes, almost like a little pile of sand. He very carefully flattened it out. Lifting Lillian’s hand with a claw, he lead her to the pile so she could rest close to him while he slept.

The pile of ashes was surprisingly soft, and it didn’t cling to her hair or her clothes. That id, if she chose to sleep on it or sit on it.

Once he had done that, he let his head fall to the ground in exhaustion. His body relaxed as the red flames and fire became a soft blue, his eyes closed and he drifted off.

The first thing she would do when he managed to get himself in the cave was peek in, baffled for a moment as he licked the ground. Okay, so, apparently big demons lords had a tongue thing, or something... Maybe the dog analogy wasn't so far off after all... Most didn't end up melting everything like that though, but this didn't disprove the idea... The idea of his nesting a strange one, though it did seem to fit at the moment as she just slowly blinked when he settled in. That new, awesome, tail flicking slightly behind her in thought.

The whole situation ended up even more bizarre when he actually lead her over towards the... ash, stuff, that he was comfortable on. Well at leas the being stuck together thing had settled in. Not exactly settling in, instead she continued to observe this behavior, it must have been bad all things considered. So, in the interest of getting everything done sooner, she decided to leave him alone. Rather than torment him, or something else, that probably would have been so easy right now.

For the duration he spent asleep Lillian would find ways to keep herself distracted, though first she too ended up sleeping for a shorter span of time. The anxiety, stress, and every other factor of the situation would force her to shut down for a time. Beyond that a series of simple practice spells, nothing that should have been enough to disturb him she hoped... Then a few card games from the deck in her bag. She had a couple of snacks, but unfortunately she hadn't really prepared to go camping so... she would end up a bit hungry later.

Inevitably she would fall back asleep though, when night fell. Somewhere near the demon, though not too near him. On that strange ash that didn't make a mess, and was a much better bed than anything else here could have been... Which would help her at least sleep soundly through the night.

Morning cake with the soft chirping of birds and a calm glow onto the floor of the cave.

Waking up slowly, the color on Fuudien’s body returned to its lava red. His cracks had healed and his wounds had vanished. He was back to his normal, powerful self. Sitting up, he stretched out his body, careful not to break the rocks hanging from the ceiling of the cave. He shifted his body and twisted his arms as he shook out his sleepy limbs.

Once he was fully awake, he looked down. The human was curled up on a part of his large bed of ashes, which made him a bit happy. At least she knew how to listen, even though he didn’t speak.

With a sigh, he stretched out his wings and arms and focused his energy. A bunch of symbols glowed behind his back as his eyes flamed up. A flame started at his feet and crawled up his body slowly until he was entirely covered in a soft blue fire. Then the fire slowly shrank down, the protrusions where extra limbs and horns and spikes were disappearing. The fire became very small, then then it disappeared down the body of the demon the same way it appeared.

Instead of a massive demon with multiple limbs and wings, a tall, muscular, young man stood in the cave, his long black hair falling down his back. His skin was pale but his back was covered in dozens of black marking that looked ancient and intimidating. Two grey horns curled around his head slightly, then went back. His eyes were red and orange, like an eternal fire. Blinking, he looked around.

Good. His body worked. It wasn’t as useful or great as his normal body, but it would do. He focused, his eyes glowing. His wings appeared from ash. Flapping them, he looked back.

Good. His wings still worked. They disappeared in ash and he looked to the girl. She was still asleep.

Snapping his fingers, which had black-painted nails on them, tight-fitting black pants appeared on his legs. After he was clothed, he turned to the back of the cave and pressed his hands onto the cave wall.

He didn’t need to feed to survive, but it gave him extra energy. Since he could leave to hunt, he would bring the food to the cave. His eyes glowed and a magical beacon went out to the creatures nearby. They all walked in a zombie-like state and arrived at the cave.

Turning, he smiled, his teeth unnaturally sharp,

Later, in some hours, Lillian would probably be cursing the fact that this weird ash-bed was almost as comfortable as her own bed at home. Almost, all it really lacked was a pillow, and the to-tempting blanket that made it almost impossible to wake up in the morning. Without that she would actually end up beginning the process of awakening far sooner in the day than she normally would, stirring slightly at first before she would realize something felt off.

Sitting up more quickly at that, eyes bleary for a moment as she looked around... Weird cave, bed of ash, horny mostly-naked man sitting with a book on bones, birds singing, fresh air... Wait, what? The brunette would have only glanced at him for a moment as she looked around, but she would certainly end up doing a double take as her eyes suddenly snapped back towards him. Just staring for a moment as she took in the unbelievable sight before her. The events of the previous day coming back in a rush.

"No. No, no... no.." For a moment her words were muttered, as she rubbed her eyes slightly as if that would change the thing she was seeing in front of her. This couldn't be the same weird spider-bird-dog demon she saw yesterday, it couldn't be. Yet it had to be. Breathing out a sigh that was trapped somewhere between a groan, and a whine, that fact would slowly sink in. There was no one else it could be.

"You're Fu... Fuudien." She would state, after a moment, rather than actually asking right now. That would have been a stupid question anyways. Taking him in a bit more at that point, two things standing out to her immediately, aside from his demonic appearance.

"Okay you cannot wear pants like that, you... just, you can't. Where did you even get them." Demons were suppose to be monsters why did he have to be ridiculously attractive.
[/div]

He had finished his very large meal and was now reading up on his situation in an ancient spell book when he heard the girl. Glancing up, he saw her looking around in confusion. He didn’t say anything and continued to read. Even when she addressed him he did nothing but nod. Then she told him he couldn’t wear his pants.

He looked up, closing his book with one hand.
“I’m sorry? I can’t wear... pants? You’d rather see me bare? What do you take me for, an incubus??” His voice was smooth and beautiful, and he spoke elegant English. He opened his book again, continuing to read.

“I will need a place to stay. Preferably a place you can be near but your family cannot. Unlike you I am sure your family has magic and it is a waste of energy to smother my power signature with magic. As for food, we will need to go hunting every day. I require a cast amount of food I neither want nor need you to supply. You do not need to clothe me, I can produce materials from thin air. We will need to lay down some ground rules when you are more awake and my housing arrangements are taken care of.” He had continued flipping through his book, reading while he spoke. He got through several pages before he finished speaking. After the book was closed, at the end of his speech, he stood and it vanished.

He approchaed her, standing over her and looking into her eyes with his own. He couldn’t pin down the emotion on her face, but it annoyed him nonetheless. Without her permission he pulled her to her feet. He was about four inches taller than her and very muscular, so he was still a fairly large for a human. Putting his hands on her shoulders, he offered a very fake smile to her

“I do not like you, nor do I like your kind. If you annoy me even slightly, I will do my best to vex you as much as possible. Am I understood?”

[class=PostBox]width:80%;height:auto;min-height:350px;padding:10px;border:3px double #ffffff;margin:auto;border-radius:10px;position:relative;[/class] [class=PostName]height:26px;border-bottom:double 4px #ffffff;border-bottom-right-radius:90%;border-bottom-left-radius:90%;margin:auto;text-align:center;font-size:25px;margin-left:210px;[/class] [class=PostImg]width:200px;height:320px;float:left;overflow:none;margin-right:10px;[/class] [class=Credit]font-size:8px;position:absolute;bottom:0;right:1px;[/class] [class name=PostBox]border-color:#61BD6D;background:#444444;color:#ffffff;font-size:12px;line-height:17px;[/class] [class name=PostName]border-color:#61BD6D;letter-spacing:1px;[/class] [class name=PostImg]background:url('https://i.postimg.cc/2yV5mq2f/Lillian-Evans.png');background-size:cover;[/class] [div class=PostBox][div class=PostImg][/div][div class=PostName]Lillian Evans[/div][div class=Credit]Created by IdyllicDreamer[/div]
Well at least the communication problem was fixed, a thought that trickled in when he spoke in a voice that sounded about as good as he looked. It wasn't fair. Lillian wouldn't dwell on the actual sound of it for very long though, when it was the words that hit her most. The mental image that sprang to mind ended up having her press her now burning face into her hands. Just because she didn't want him in those pants didn't mean she wanted to see what they were not hiding. If nothing else she could take solace in the fact that he wasn't an incubus. If nothing else.

Fortunately for her modesty, and concern on the matter, his next words would end up flat out murdering her thoughts. Halting them in their tracks as she just slowly looked up at him. He'd just taken a shot at her powers, hadn't he? He wasn't even looking at her either when he did so, as if she really was that insignificant.. He was a lot less intimidating in that form, and she had already started reaching the point where she was intimidated by him anyways.

She didn't even make a sound this time when he picked her up, at least this time her feet were still on the ground!

"Well I mean first of all, fuck you." Lillian said as she moved to knock his hands off of her shoulders, as if she was going to be making a point of some kind doing so. "I think that's a two way street buddy boy. Don't forget you need me alive, or its right back to the void for you. And while I'm not exactly looking forward to the idea of dying, I'm pretty sure a suicide to take a merciless demon lord out of the mix would still land me in a place that's a hell of a lot better than where you'd go." Granted she wasn't even sure if she would be able to, if it came to that... But if it was between herself and people she cared about because of him? Small price to pay.

"Sorry, not sorry, but you can't scare me. You can make things a lot more uncomfortable for me, or maybe unpleasant, but you can't actually hurt me. So why should I be worried about your threats, when I'm holding something way worse over you? Are you really willing to risk your freedom for the sake of pissing me off a little, huh?"
[/div]

At first she seemed surprised and annoyed at his responses, but when he lifted her to her feet her demeanor changed completely. Her weak human hands slapped away his own and she growled at him, threatening him. At first he was mad, then he thought. Normally humans valued their lives above others, but she seemed like the type that cared about others... slightly. Still, slightly was better than nothing and that meant it was a risk. He didn’t know her well enough to test that risk.

Then she acted all tough and brave, threatening him more and pointing out him limitations in their arrangement. He frowned, crossing his arms.

“I’m unsure that you would do that, considering another human could release me again. And your crass language doesn’t impress me, little girl.”

Turning away, he walked to the edge of the cave, his hands behind his back. The eerie markings on his back were on full display as well as his well-toned buttocks.

“You should be worried because I can find a way... I always find a way. How do you think I escaped the inescapable? You should be afraid of me. You’ve no idea what I’m capable of.” He let that sink in, the ran a hand through his hair.

“Let’s get moving. The day is wasting away and your voice might possibly be the sharpest, most annoying one I have heard before. We need to settle our living arrangements so you can get back to your meaningless existence and I can get back to being.... me.” He allowed a small smile to cross his face as he took a deep breath.

It was good to be free.

[class=PostBox]width:80%;height:auto;min-height:350px;padding:10px;border:3px double #ffffff;margin:auto;border-radius:10px;position:relative;[/class] [class=PostName]height:26px;border-bottom:double 4px #ffffff;border-bottom-right-radius:90%;border-bottom-left-radius:90%;margin:auto;text-align:center;font-size:25px;margin-left:210px;margin-bottom:-10px;[/class] [class=PostImg]width:200px;height:320px;float:left;overflow:none;margin-right:10px;[/class] [class=Credit]font-size:8px;position:absolute;bottom:0;right:1px;[/class] [class name=PostBox]border-color:#61BD6D;background:#444444;color:#ffffff;font-size:12px;line-height:17px;[/class] [class name=PostName]border-color:#61BD6D;letter-spacing:1px;[/class] [class name=PostImg]background:url('https://i.postimg.cc/2yV5mq2f/Lillian-Evans.png');background-size:cover;[/class] [div class=PostBox][div class=PostImg][/div][div class=PostName]Lillian Evans[/div][div class=Credit]Created by IdyllicDreamer[/div]
Lillian almost continued to bite back, almost continued to taunt with some of her knowledge. Share the fact that only a certain type of person would have been able to open that door. Fragments of the broken information she had, facts that would have been dangerous for him to know. It was a bitter pill to swallow, holding it in instead of snapping back at him. Those damned pants would distract her again though soon enough, grumbling slightly as she looked away from him, uncomfortable. It was a good distraction from the anger though.

"My... place in the city would be the best." It was so tempting for her to dig in her heels, be as stubborn as she possibly could be just to infuriate him, but she wanted out of this cave. Out of the forest and away from these things. She would have suggested her family home, in the forest, where he would have been away from people... But explaining it to them, dealing with this... While it would have been do-able she didn't want to do so.

"We have got to do something about you look though, you can't be seen like that." Behind him still, in the cave, Lillian wouldn't notice right away that Sassafras had wandered towards the entrance, sitting there quietly in the middle of the opening looking towards him, rather than her. Tail just flicking rhythmically back and forth...

"Sassafras...? How did you find us you little rascal... He'll make things a lot easier." She would have noticed him finally when she started walking out, moving right for the cat as if she were no longer concerned about the previous conversation.
[/div]

He blinked.

“In the city?? Certainly not. A city is called so for its plethora of people. People are easily frightened by horns and I do not wish to deal with frightened people. And this forest is tranquil. You must live at some place around here. You would not know so much about the forest if you lived solely in the city. Your family must have a house at least. They probably practice their magic here, it’s remote.” It would also allow him to study the door. if he could figure out the portal he could destroy it, and then he would destroy her and return to his true home and his true life.

Then he saw the cat. That darn cat... why did it watch him so? Picking it up as it walked away, he began to walk. He gently petted it, trying to figure out its secrets.

“My clothing is fine. It is comfortable and mimics your’s. Tell me about this ‘Sassafras.’ It is clearly your familiar but what else? Could it also be a beast that your family keeps to protect you? Maybe your family is of the demon-summoning type and this creature is your protective demon? Tell me more about-“

He paused, turning to her. Waving his hand, her tail and ears disappeared. With that, he continued walking.

“It just seems too innocent and yet too brave to be a simple cat.” He held up Sassafras, look deep into his eyes. He wanted to know the secrets this creature hid. He pressed his face into the feline’s fur, hoping to feel even the slightest bit of magic to prove it wasn’t what it seemed... but there was nothing.

He sighed, holding the cat and looking around.

“So where is this forest home? I would like to rebuild my study I had in hell.”

[class=PostBox]width:80%;height:auto;min-height:350px;padding:10px;border:3px double #ffffff;margin:auto;border-radius:10px;position:relative;[/class] [class=PostName]height:26px;border-bottom:double 4px #ffffff;border-bottom-right-radius:90%;border-bottom-left-radius:90%;margin:auto;text-align:center;font-size:25px;margin-left:210px;margin-bottom:-10px;[/class] [class=PostImg]width:200px;height:320px;float:left;overflow:none;margin-right:10px;[/class] [class=Credit]font-size:8px;position:absolute;bottom:0;right:1px;[/class] [class name=PostBox]border-color:#61BD6D;background:#444444;color:#ffffff;font-size:12px;line-height:17px;[/class] [class name=PostName]border-color:#61BD6D;letter-spacing:1px;[/class] [class name=PostImg]background:url('https://i.postimg.cc/2yV5mq2f/Lillian-Evans.png');background-size:cover;[/class] [div class=PostBox][div class=PostImg][/div][div class=PostName]Lillian Evans[/div][div class=Credit]Created by IdyllicDreamer[/div]
At this point Lillian had to wonder exactly what was going through his mind when he decided against the city, and clearly had barely listened to anything she said. Was she just going to be constantly talking into one ear and out the other? Probably, great. That didn't mean she was going to stop trying.

"What do you want from me Fuudien? Aside from the obvious discontinuation of my existence, but seriously. You say you don't want to be at my family house, now you do. You have to figure out something with those horns anyways, I have things I need to do in the city!" She honestly wasn't concerned about taking him to her family, really. Not overall, not when all of them understood the nature of magic, they would understand the pickle she was in. They'd probably hate him, but that was about it, it wasn't like they could kill him as things were.

The curiosity on Sassafras would make her a little uncomfortable, the cat squirming a little upon first being picked up, but otherwise he seemed to remain pretty calm. The yellow eyes he had turning towards Lillian at this point for a moment, before letting out a small meow. She had forgotten about the cat-tail really, though, so when he just waved at her and the tingle came she was just a little puzzled.

"How about a deal Froufrou, demon's like those. I'll tell you some stuff about Sassafras if you agree to reconsider that outfit. And, I'll agree to answer your questions to the best of my abilities... If you try and work with me here alright?" Compromise, that would be the way to survive all of this with her sanity intact. "And if you give him to me I can get us to my families house a lot quicker than just walking all the way there."

Being her familiar he was able to help her with a certain number of spells she knew, making them easier for one thing. One of which would have saved them about half a day of talking considering how far away he had managed to take them. Since, unlike his previous critical assessment, she did have magic too! Imagine that.
[/div]

He turned back to her, letting the cat as he listened. She was so whiney. She just complained and snapped at him as if the situation was his fault. He clearly didn’t want to be with her, so he didn’t understand why she kept being so annoying about it all.

“Yes. I’d rather not be around you family, but considering you can live in the city alone I assumed you would have a house here for yourself.”

He considered her deal for a bit, then sighed.

“I suppose you’ll be unbearable until I give you something you want so I will accept the deal. You will tell me about your familiar and answer my questions in return for my outfit change and my cooperation.” He handed back the cat, then running his hands through his hair again.

This would be quite vexing. He was sure his minions who still lived had kept up places for him as he commanded. They would have safe houses for him with only the finest of thing for him to wear and use. Even if he was outdated they would be able to explain how the world had changed instead of simply demanding he switch his style of pants. Minions were so helpful. He wondered how they were doing, if they had kept up the mischief as he had told them to do. He wondered if his section of hell had been taken over by a different demon lord, which made him angry for a moment.

He looked at Lillian, sighing in annoyance.

“Listen Human. I might be able to bear living in the city if we can return to this forest so I can study. It would be preferable for both of us that no other magic-users find out I’m a demon. They might try to kidnap you, get me to do things for them, trying to kill me so they’ll appear heroic... it’s just too bothersome.”

[class=PostBox]width:80%;height:auto;min-height:350px;padding:10px;border:3px double #ffffff;margin:auto;border-radius:10px;position:relative;[/class] [class=PostName]height:26px;border-bottom:double 4px #ffffff;border-bottom-right-radius:90%;border-bottom-left-radius:90%;margin:auto;text-align:center;font-size:25px;margin-left:210px;margin-bottom:-10px;[/class] [class=PostImg]width:200px;height:320px;float:left;overflow:none;margin-right:10px;[/class] [class=Credit]font-size:8px;position:absolute;bottom:0;right:1px;[/class] [class name=PostBox]border-color:#61BD6D;background:#444444;color:#ffffff;font-size:12px;line-height:17px;[/class] [class name=PostName]border-color:#61BD6D;letter-spacing:1px;[/class] [class name=PostImg]background:url('https://i.postimg.cc/2yV5mq2f/Lillian-Evans.png');background-size:cover;[/class] [div class=PostBox][div class=PostImg][/div][div class=PostName]Lillian Evans[/div][div class=Credit]Created by IdyllicDreamer[/div]
"Houses are expensive, and if I wanted to stay out here I'd just go stay in my old room with my family. Besides, I needed a place in the city to make it easier for me to attend my college courses." Lillian explained, not sounding snappy or irritated in the slightest for once. A little frown popping up as she thought about that detail, she was going to have to work something out for her classes instead of just dragging him along to all of them. Though perhaps that might have been good for him, considering how out of date he must have been... A topic for another time though.

Taking Sassafras, pulling the feline close she would just listen to him speak. The cat continuing to seem entirely unconcerned about the situation, as if he literally just did not care about their problems or even their existence. Leave it to a cat. A little smile would actually spread when he agreed to that deal. A step of progress that was making her feel a bit more optimistic about the situation, that perhaps they could find a way to coexist in it all. Maybe it was a long shot, but it was about the only shot she had right now.

"I thought about that, and I don't think my family would be too big of a problem in any of those regards. Oh I'm sure they'll hate you and your existence, but since they love me the bond is going to kind of make it awkward all around. And I'd bet my bottom dollar none of them would try and kidnap me~" Her tone was almost a little more playful now. A mark of her improved mood, as her fingers just lightly ran through Sassafras' fur. A gentle purr starting up, before he would abruptly twist out of her grasp and go racing into the forest... For some reason. Prompting a sigh for her, but she didn't have the ability or energy to go chasing after him right now.

"Sassafras has been in my family for generations, he's a fickle cat. He became mine after my grandma passed away when I was little, he just kind of... picks who he'll go to next. I'm pretty sure he's been with us since we settled in this forest way back when. Mom thinks he's some kind of demon, but no one can quite figure out what kind because he just... Well, won't let any of us." He was a stubborn willful thing, but he also made for one of the best familiars around to those he actually chose to work with. Which just so happened to be Lillian right now. "He gets a new name every time he moves to another, when Grandma had him his name was Pyewacket."

"Also, if you want to keep from standing out and giving away that you're not exactly human.. You should probably call me Lillian, you know, that name I didn't give you until now."
She would actually give him a light bump at that, while trying to keep pace with him. Pushing a little, wanting to see if she could get him to play along... Still trying to ignore his current attire, but... Well, she didn't have anything else for him to put on.
[/div]

College? She was fairly young to go to such a prestigious level of schooling. Last time he checked only adults learned at such a level, and certainly not women. How much had he missed??

She cracked a small smile, while made him frowned. Her demeanor quickly changed and he did not trust it. Why had she become so happy? There was nothing to be happy about in their particular situation. Her playful tone didn’t help either. When Sassafras left abruptly it took all he had not to strike him down with a fire storm. He grumbled as he watched the cat leave.

Growing uncomfortable and confused by her lack of sass, he made sure to keep distance between them as they walked. He kept glancing over at her as if she might leap at him like a rabid dog.

“Your family would surely talk though, and I would rather not have that. As for where we shall live, I can take us to your home in either the city or the forest if you would visualize it for me.... in your mind. When we get to wherever we are going you’ll have to explain what you mean by ‘college.’”

he listened about her familair, simply growing more curious. If he was a demon, maybe he knew about him and his situation. Could he have been the one who freed him? And why? Not all demons even like him and most were jealous of his power and prestige. He was sure many of them had been mostly pleased when he was locked away.

She bumped into him... on purpose. He stopped walking and looked at her, extremely perplexed. He was going to question her more about Sassafras but now he was too confused.

“What is that that you just did? Did you trip?? And you’re smiling. What is that expression for? I find nothing amusing or fun about this. And your familiar has run away as well. Are you ill???”

He didn’t really care what her name was, he just wanted her to stop being confusing.

“Here, is this better?” He snapped his fingers and instead of tight pants he had a long black skirt on with slots down the sides.

[class=PostBox]width:80%;height:auto;min-height:350px;padding:10px;border:3px double #ffffff;margin:auto;border-radius:10px;position:relative;[/class] [class=PostName]height:26px;border-bottom:double 4px #ffffff;border-bottom-right-radius:90%;border-bottom-left-radius:90%;margin:auto;text-align:center;font-size:25px;margin-left:210px;margin-bottom:-10px;[/class] [class=PostImg]width:200px;height:320px;float:left;overflow:none;margin-right:10px;[/class] [class=Credit]font-size:8px;position:absolute;bottom:0;right:1px;[/class] [class name=PostBox]border-color:#61BD6D;background:#444444;color:#ffffff;font-size:12px;line-height:17px;[/class] [class name=PostName]border-color:#61BD6D;letter-spacing:1px;[/class] [class name=PostImg]background:url('https://i.postimg.cc/2yV5mq2f/Lillian-Evans.png');background-size:cover;[/class] [div class=PostBox][div class=PostImg][/div][div class=PostName]Lillian Evans[/div][div class=Credit]Created by IdyllicDreamer[/div]
Oh that was absolutely delicious, his reaction to the little gesture. It was even enough to let her drop the whole topic on her family, since he didn't know them, they certainly wouldn't have ratted her out of course. Instead her expression morphed into something of a grin, reveling in his confusion over the situation. Had he never really stopped to just have innocent fun before? That, well, didn't involve people getting maimed, or whatnot. It would slip for a moment at the change of attire, the skirt of all things, though those openings on either side... no, it didn't help.

"Wellll~ No, not exactly... you should... Go back to the pants, but make them a little less tight, add in... maybe some boots, and a shirt of some kind... Simple stuff, and then we can go shopping and I can show you the kinds of stuff that won't have you looking like a complete dork, or standing out too much." Things that actually left stuff to the imagination, that would have been nice. Though it was starting to dawn on her that he would... probably always stand out, no matter what he wore. Which would be potentially problematic... Women probably weren't as forward back in his day.

"And, it's called playing around, the bump~ It's something people do when they don't have sticks up their butts." She would actually twist lightly to wiggle her butt at him, wanting to create more confusion, because it was just too amusing right now.

Though maybe back at her place it would be easier to get him into something else, thinking about that apartment she had... picturing the entry room/living-room... A simple enough space, with a nice window that let light filter in. A desk with a computer placed against it, the TV on its own stand across from the couch with a pull-out bed. Accent tables on either side, all of the wooden fixtures a deeper wood that gave them an older look than they had. There were knick-knacks, clutter, and the likes around on various surfaces, and shelves, within the room. Some were magical trinkets, some mundane, but overall it would have a kind of cozy feel to it...[/div]

She grinned and he grew even more confused, making a face this time. Was she plotting some devilish scheme? Everything she did bewildered him, making him feel as if he was in an entirely different dimension. One he was extremely uncomfortable in.

Her comments on his attire just made him more confused. The garments he had chosen were perfectly appropriate and covered all that needed to be covered. Why he needed footwear and a shirt baffled him almost as much as her odd behavior. But he had told her he would cooperate. He looked down at himself and thought for a moment, then a new wardrobe slowly appeared. He had a nice black shirt on, some burgundy pants, and black shoes. They were a little outdated but he still looked good.

“Like this perhaps? Though the reasoning behind the shirt and shoes perplexed me. And-“ He put his hands up, his eyes widening as her butt turn toward him and wiggled. He looked in between her and her butt several time with a very alarmed face, his hands up as if he was being held at gunpoint, before he spoke.

“I... do not not know... what that was... but you need to stop.”

He hesitantly reached forward and touched her forehead with his fingers as she began to visualize her home.

The world around them became a blue of colors and when they settled, they were in her apartment. Fuudien promptly retreated a good distance as to avoid catching whatever illness she had.

Then he looked around. He frowned. The space was small, and he saw many objects he didn’t recognize. Even with his vast knowledge he could not figure out why there were two small levers on the wall next to the door. What was their purpose??? He curiously flicked one and the lights came on. He looked up at the lightbulb, which also confused him, and started flicking it on and off, he did it quickly for a while and then slowly turned it on and off, watching the lightbulb as if he could catch it in the act of magic.

By the time they had arrived back at her apartment she was practically cackling of all things. Practically, there were still obvious notes of a more 'normal' laugh, regardless it would be obvious that something about this situation was amusing her greatly. Perhaps it was the simple fact that he had claimed earlier he would 'vex' her, when she seemed to be the one confusing him to the point of torment, or something to that effect. Just the expressions on his face, how little he seemed to know on what to do with her, was all absolutely great. She would end up just about flopping back onto her couch as she pulled herself together. Something she would manage to do while he was playing with the lights.

"Okay... okay, so... That, is a light switch, and a light bulb is what's making that light. They're hooked up with wires and stuff to move electricity, you know like... lightning, to turn electronics on. It's, uhh... this stuff, inventors put together without magic. Energy is generated externally and supplied here, for different things. Like that. It's advancements made by people without magic to make life easier." Electricity wasn't her forte, most of what she said was assumed from tidbits she knew, trying to give him a general idea of some of the things of the world. Such as that.

"There are a lot of things in this world that function like magic, working like some spells, but they're not magic. They're just different ways some people have figured out to make things happen. If you really wanted I could try and get you more information on it, but, really with you having magic most of it is just moot anyways." Considering he could probably replicate most of the things technology could do with his own powers, she was mostly just trying to let him understand that there would be a lot of strange things in 'this' world that would probably appear like magic... but weren't.

"Also, yes, thank you, that outfit is way better, we could actually go to the mall now... You'll learn a lot more there... Mmmm... but you'll have to do something about those horns, if you went with them... well I mean most people would probably just assume you're crazy, or some weirdo." Or a cosplayer, but she really didn't feel like trying to explain that one right now... And if they went to the mall she could grab something to eat without having to cook anything, hunger was starting to gnaw at her from the previous day.

By point, for just a moment... Lillian had to wonder if that outfit really was better, he still looked unfairly good. Mind racing back to the pants, unable to get that damned visualization out of her mind. The incubus comment. It was horrible, so very horrible. She ended up having to avert her eyes away from him for a moment.
[/div]

After toying with the light switch for a good bit, he walked back over and crossed his arms. She was laying on the couch, cackling at him. He hadn’t the faintest clue what she found so funny but it was starting to bug him. She was sprawled out, laughing and making noises akin to laughing as if everything was fine and dandy, as if her world hadn’t been completely changed. It irritated him greatly. He was about to insult her to get her to stop being so confusingly happy but she started to explain the devices around.

He looked around as she spoke, putting his hands on his hips. The world had changed a lot since he had last been there. They had forgotten about magic and instead used science for most everything, they had made many more material items to fill their homes, and they had gotten far more idiotic than he imagined. Well at least Lillian’s family had. He didn’t think her very bright despite her knowledge about this modern world.

He began to walk through her apartment and look around at all the different areas and what filled them, still listening as she spoke about his clothes. It was very odd to think she lived in this small place all alone. She as very independent it seemed, which surprised him. The last time he had been in the mortal realm girls her age would be married and having kids already. And yet she was in a college... He found the window to the apartment and looked out in shock.

There were so many shiny buildings everywhere! And people in the oddest clothing of every color and race just waltzed about as if there was nothing wrong! These weird metal boxes on wheels zoomed down black paths that looked like roads make of rock. There weren’t any people on horseback and many people had small dogs attached to colorful ropes. Some of the citizens had small rectangular things that shone in the sunlight. They were thin and looked like simply a piece of metal but the owners just kept tapping them and looking into them deeply.

The world had changed a lot since he was last there...

“My horns? What of them? I see your kind now dresses differently but are they not aware that fairy and mystical folk exist? I could easilypass for a cave elf. And another thing... what in the name of Satan has happened to your architecture? It is all shiny and quite tall. Some of your very small building move about atop wheels. It’s all very strange. And where are the horses? Why do all the dogs trot around like they haven’t a care? Should t they be in pens of some sort? How do you live in such a small space that is WITHIN another space?? This whole world is quite mad.”

Though he hated that he had to get information from her, he was genuinely curious. He hated humans because of their foolishness and mortality, but he always admired their ingenuity. They came up with things to replace magic that most magical beasts never considered. And their foods were quite good~

Now they were starting to get to the sticky part of it all, the place where she was left to blow his mind on the facts of the modern world. Rolling her lips slightly she tried to think about the best way to explain some aspects of it all to him... Magic might not have been the best one to start with, overall it might have been the hardest one for him she felt. Then again why should she really care how hard any of these were for him? Sometimes she was just too nice, trying to spare the feelings of a demon lord she was probably going to end up unintentionally torturing.

"They're skyscrapers, with advancements in society the death rate of most humans has gone down drastically, resulting in a much larger population. So they started making buildings like these where a lot more can be housed in one area. This small space is an apartment, its one of the more affordable ways to live, really... This one is actually a lot nicer than some. This isn't even the slums." She started, the housing and buildings seemed to be a pretty good way to start. Managing to avoid laughing at the idea of cars being buildings, though she could kind of see how he might think that... Given both were made of metal around here more. Or, at least they looked like it.

"Those aren't buildings on wheels, either. They're cars, and they're more like... horseless carriages than buildings. No one really uses horses anymore, since cars can run on their own. They can be found out on ranches, a lot of people like riding them for fun now." A nice, safe, segway... Eventually she would have to break the news about magic and the world though. "And a lot of people just have dogs as pets now, they live in the houses with them and those people in particular are walking them. Which... is mostly done to get them some exercise as well as make sure they go to the bathroom. Most of them are pampered more than people are even."

There was only one topic left now, really... Since she couldn't avoid it, something had to be done about those horns, aside from a hat.

"As for magic, and creatures... Most people have forgotten about them. At this point they're more like legends to the common masses, rather than real things. Like stories to scare kids with. When human population started to boom, and technology got better, it started becoming a threat to magic folk, so they disappeared into obscurity and let tales of them fade to myth more than anything. Most like it better that way, though I've heard of some that are actively against it... No one is going to assume you're a cave elf, unless they do know of magic, then... Well, we're going to get that attention neither of us wants."

The witch hunts were one of the biggest events before they faded away, maybe she could have got him some books on those....

He listened as she began to explain everything, starting off with architecture. He looked out the window, analyzing the shiny and metallic buildings and trying to match her explanation with what he saw with his own eyes. It matched up quite well, though it was disappointing to hear than humans didn’t die as often as they used to. That meant he’ll was just a little less crowded than it should have been. If only he hadn’t gotten caught. Then things would still be miserable~

He frowned at the part about the animals. He quite liked horses, with their cold eyes and their deceiving beauty. One moment they would look stunning as the wind swept through their manes and the next they’d stomp you to mush. He used to ride his black mare by the name Azrael everywhere. She lived in the mortal realm and he’d often visit her. Sighing, he shook his head. She was probably dead now. That was a true shame. Azrael was so perfectly malicious. She could relate to Fuudien very well. He didn’t care much for these new dogs though. Dogs too were supposed to vicious, even as a pet. They would tear apart anything that tried to harm their master. These dogs he saw could be squashed easily. If he stepped on them they’d probably just roll over and die.

“What?!”

The humans had abandoned magic?! They had forced away the fairies and the mystical folk?! The only proper parts of the mortal realm were hidden, killed, or simply vanished?! He had begun to hate humans even more somehow. The mortal realm was a fun lace to cause chaos and relax when he got bored in hell. The best people to do that with were elves, or dwarves, or centaurs! No no could beat a dryad’s soft touch or a siren’s sweet song. Gambling with a Minotaur was always hilarious, and he had known many harpies who were quite good cooks... somehow.

But this human girl was telling him her people had gotten rid of it all?! What joy was there left in this disgusting world?! How could the humans POSSIBLY entertain themselves more without the aid of the magical beings! He had never heard a merrier group of drunken men anywhere other thank a dwarf’s pub, or seen a finer-dressed creature than one clothed by elves. This was an absolute travesty.

Then it hit him.

“They don’t... remember me?” He turned slowly to her, his eyes burning in fury. After all the pain he had suffered, after all the sinful pleasure he had treated their world to, after all the DEATH he was responsible for... they didn’t remember?

Oh boy, there they were. Quiet for a moment as she let him take in what that all meant, a world that had moved on from magic. Though there were still families that practiced, kept to the traditions, and refused to let it die. Like hers did, though she knew her family had old roots in it. How old, exactly, she wasn't sure... But, they traced back generations, and she knew there was power in old blood. Once she had more practical training she too could have probably been a vastly powerful caster in her own right... One day.

Instead of any of her sassy comments, little jokes, playful jabs, or odd sentences, Lillian just kind of winced when he brought himself up. She would have much rather not talked about that, not had to tell him that she hadn't even known who he was before yesterday.

"So... before I answer your question... just remember, you break it you buy it." Not that he would understand that, probably. How old was that saying...? "Please don't break my apartment." Clarification before she took a deep breath, by now she had probably already answered his question by not answering it, but she had promised to answer his questions... So she would do so properly!

"To be honest I hadn't even heard of you before yesterday, and my family does know stuff about demons. Which is kind of surprising considering... Well, what that being... told, show, mind-thinged to me. It sounded like you were a big shot, and there just isn't... anything." An idea popping up in her mind, one of those little conspiracy theories bubbling up... The odds of him having enemies were about as good as losing the lottery...

"Hey, you know, I wonder if someone went out of their way to get your name erased from history. Like, not even just human's incomplete history, the actual magical history." That was logical right? Maybe that would appease him, and they could... maybe finally get to the mall, because she was hungry and didn't want to cook.
