In Game

How fascinating... he spoke as he rose a curled finger to his chin. Minimal information but information it was. He took the time to inspect the Kryx who seemed to be somewhat of an opposite to him. It was quite the present for him to get a room with Nu. He could watch over her and understand where she was coming from more over time. He watched as the belt came off as well as the blaster put away. He took note of those as he might place the bun on one of them soon. For safety measures of course. His thoughts on how to go about such feats took his eyes off of Nu for the moment. He was ignorant to any senses that she was dealing with at the moment. Though his mind was taken out of the procedure once Cael's voice came on. He looked up to as if seeing the speaker would help him hear it better. As it would seem, a present was left for them. A present from Glak may hold even more information that Glo'cer may use later on. The strange ability that the Omniplight held was a useful one indeed.

He looked back to Nu once she talked directly to him once again. Indeed we shall. I wonder just what this gift is. Seeing Glak's abilities first hand will surly mean something useful will come out of it. Though, I may sit here for a moment longer. The adventures of the planet have worn me down. The atmosphere is not something I was used to and the minerals there were nothing too pleasing for my palate. You may leave if you wish, I shall be along shortly once my body  feels better. He spoke calmly though his little speech. Though it may have been true for some species to feel this way after such a planet, Glo'cer was simply trying to have Nu leave. He hopped she would leave her belt behind but there was a 50/50 chance on that. She seemed like the weary type to leave things behind. A thief keeps their things as close as possible as to not get stolen. He just hoped she would come to the thought that there was no where to go at this moment. Do tell the others I will be there shortly, however. I wouldn't want to keep them waiting.

Cael glanced around the room that was currently occupied by the cyborg. It was the one place on the ship he stayed out of for the most part. He didn't even use it for storage. He left it empty, except for the living furniture. Now however, it needed to be used, and Cael wasn't about to throw Artemis out of the room just because of his discomfort. Even he wasn't that bad a guy. He lifted his hat and scratched at his head as he looked around.

"Ah, naw. Yer fine. Everyone needs a room I recon."

Cael was thankful when the subject changed when Artemis noticed the box sitting behind him. He fixed his hat and sombered over towards the box and began flipping the clasps keeping it shut. Lifting the lid, the set of comlinks set in their foam holders, until Cael lifted one out and gave it a look over. He gave the button on the side a press and the little bracelet beeped to life. It quickly flashed the frequency, which Cael inputted into the built in com link in the small computer in his arm, and then returned to Artemis.

"Yea, Glak reckoned we could use these for some reason. Not sure what would make him think that though, never said a word to him about our little "trip" to Avalon. But, might as well use 'em while we got 'em right?"

As Cael held his hand out towards Artemis, something caught his ear making him turn his head so his ears were facing towards the engine room. Cael prided himself on being able to pinpoint anything wrong with his ship. He usually was the cause of what ailed the ship, so he was familiar with every problem, its noises, and how to fix them. But something was different this time. There was a strange hum coming from the engine's that sounded much louder than normal through the sound dampening walls of the engine room. Cael pushed the com link into Artemis' hand without another word and turned towards the engine room and began to briskly walk towards it.

As Cael approached the door to the engines, his eyes began to grow more and more concerned as he could see blue light erupting through the small glass window. He drew his blaster from his side and slowly approached the door, peering into the engine room slowly. His expression changed from one of concern to confusion as he observed large arcs of blue energy jumping between the engines. There was something strange about the energy, it wasn't like a discharge from the engines which would happen from time to time when Cael would make long runs. It was like the energy was alive and it was bouncing from one engine to the other. Cael wasn't sure what was wrong, but he knew one thing, he had to get the ship out of lightspeed immediately.

Holstering his blaster Cael reached to the side of the door and found an emergency button, placed strategically in case there was a problem with the engines and the crew was needed. He didn't really need them, but they needed to be aware that something was wrong. As the reg lights in the ceilings began to flash round and round, Cael flipped open the panel on his arm. He was patched into the ships com's in a heartbeat as he was dashing towards the cockpit.

"We got a problem with the engines, I gotta pull us out of light speed. This might get a little bumpy so everyone hold tight."

As Cael was jogging around the corner of the back of the ship, the humming continued to grow louder and louder. Everyone on the ship should be able to hear it now, which Cael was sure would undoubtedly raise some suspicions about The Odyssey once they got out of lightspeed. But Cael never made it to the cockpit to shut down the lightspeed engines. Suddenly the engines went quite. Cael stopped as he came into view of the lounge and galley and he looked around the ship. A glowing blue pattern had begun to crawl across the ship's floors, ceilings, and walls coming from somewhere in the upper deck. Cael starred at the pattern as it began to grow and grow over the entire ship. It headed for the cockpit and Cael was then running after it before it could get to the controls. He didn't have a clue what it was, but it couldn't be good. Before Cael could reach the cockpit, the glowing pattern enclosed the ship and began to glow brighter and brighter until finally every inch of the ship was enclosed in a blinding light.

Cael felt his head pounding before anything else. The pounding seemed to be at the rythm of his heart, so he knew he was still alive. He then could feel the cold metal surface of the floor beneath him and he knew he was still on the ship. The ship. That thought made Cael's eyes open wide and he immediately tried to get to his feet. He was a bit wobbly, he felt as if his entire body had been drained of energy. He wobbled to his feet, using the wall as support as he slowly made his way towards the cockpit. He looked around, the glowing pattern was gone, and the engines sounded like the normally did. The ship was still running, was that good or bad? As Cael entered the cockpit, the first thing he noticed was that the ship was no longer in lightspeed. That was good, because when Cael sat down at the console and began to look over the navigation panel, he noticed something strange. The Nav Computer was completely blank, except for the one icon flashing in the top right corner for a lost signal. Cael tried to search for a galactic positions satellite, but nothing hailed to his calls when he searched. Cael lifted himself out of the captains chair and began to look around through the cockpit windows, searching for anything that looked like a planet or a star system that he recognized.

Nu stood, poised in the doorway to leave, as Glo'cer talked again. Why did he always use so, so many words to say so little?

She narrowed her eyes, wondering if the babbling was a sign that he was up to something. She glanced over at her belongings, flicking an ear, when she heard it. A hum, not unlike the one that the box made when she touched it, but much, much louder. It sounded like it was coming from below her. In the next moment, a red light began flashing. Even with her limited experience with flying vessels, she knew that red was usually a bad color.

Cael's voice crackled over the speaker, sounding a little panicked. Nu looked over to Glo'cer, showing a little fear in her expression. They had just stopped for repairs and supplies, and now their engines were failing?

The hum was continuing, growing louder. Its volume should have hurt her ears, but instead it felt like it was filling them softly. It felt like a lullaby. And then it was gone.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw blue light. There was a pattern creeping across the walls and floor of the ship, glowing brightly. Nu's mind began to swim, as the shapes of the pattern began to look like half-familiar letters. It was then that she realized that her box was what was harming the ship. The lights grew brighter, and Nu had to squeeze her eyes shut against them.

@Bolts

Nu looked around slowly, pushing herself off the ground. The blue lights were gone, and she had landed on the floor just outside of cabin with Glo'cer. The Kryx took in a deep breath, and tried to figure out if she was injured. Her entire body was throbbing. Not with pain; it felt like every heart beat sent a surge of energy that her body wasn't equipped to handle. Groggily, she stood and moved toward the lift. Her shuffling didn't cease until she reached the door of the cockpit.

"Cael, I have something to show you."

@zCrookedz

Glo'cer inspected the Kryx who seemed reluctant to leave for the moment. It was as if she were trying to find some deeper reason for his stay which he didn't want. He stared at Nu as they were having some sort of mental interrogation, in his eyes. Suddenly, red lights came on in an emergency fashion. Glo'cer gazed up to inspect if it really was emergency lights or not but to his dread, they were. A million thoughts raced in his mind as to why this was happening. The thought that Glak missed something didn't hold up. He saw the Omniplight's ability's first hand as well as his movements through the ship. Given his profession as a ship repairer, surly he would not overlook the engines. It was close to 1% in his mind that Glak overlooked it. Since he was no where near the engine or had visual of outside, he couldn't really come up with a proper idea as to what was happening. Once he started realizing he couldn't come up with a plan of action fast enough, he saw the strangest thing. A blue lights in the shape of patterns climbed the walls of the room, the origin being Nu's bed, and continued the run outside as well. It was quick and hard to follow as the light started to blind Glo'cer. In seconds, the blinding light illuminated fiercely as Glo'cer tried to shield his eyes. A rumbling feeling sent him flying off the bed and on to the ground where he made light bounces before settling.

He felt the cold metal ground on his face as he came too. His insides felt like they were unnaturally swirling inside him. He tried to stand up, but was met with the combination of artificial gravity and the lack of energy to really move. He heard foot steps leaving the cabin he was in. His best guess was Nu leaving the area. He couldn't really think well at the moment, so he went with the idea. He let his body rest while he focused on making his mind feel better. Thinking simple things till it could escalate into more wild thoughts. That light... He muttered as he weakly pushed himself up from the ground. He hung off Nu's bed frame as he stared at the wall. It came from...He spoke aloud once more as he checked under the bed. The light had climbed from underneath Nu's nest like area but when he went to check, there was nothing. Just the dark underbelly of the mattress. His eye's narrowed. He knew in his mind that the Kryx had to be hiding something, but like a good thief, she kept her personal things well hidden. I really must keep an eye on her now. He mused to himself as he sluggishly went to his bed. He got out a tracking device and placed it carefully out of sight on the belt. Preferably in between where the belt and a pack would connect. It would be hard to spot as well as remain secure during more mobile times. Luckily it didn't give off sound either, he should't worry about Nu's senses defeating his plans. With that all finished, he went back to inspecting her bed area. He just knew something had to be there.

Cael wasn't happy about her having the room, that was for sure. Or maybe just uncomfortable with it. His feelings were obvious just by looking at his expression. Perhaps something had happened in the room she was now in... or maybe the first mate the room had initially belonged to was someone of importance to Cael? It would make sense to want to protect the place they once lived in or the space that used to be theirs.

As curious as she was, Artemis didn't make any further comments on the topic. After all, Cael's obvious discomfort on the subject and his eagerness to talk about something else were good reasons to pack away the little piece of information she had learned into the very back of her mind. Perhaps at a better time, she'd ask him about it? While she was pondering, Cael began to unpack the box where there were many comm devices neatly packed in protective material. Artemis could only guess that the devices were there to help the members of the group always have a way to communicate with each other in case they had to split up or something. Pretty useful.

Just then, the softest humming sound could be heard and Artemis followed Cael's actions as he turned to the source of the sound : the engine room. Before the cyborg could speak, Cael had pushed the comm piece into her hands and was off to investigate the problem. Curiously, she followed a few steps behind him in utter silence, carefully fiddling with the comm piece till it was secured behind her right ear, hidden under her pale pink and silver hair.

Ironfist entered the room as the strange whirring was getting louder and louder. Curious as she was, Artemis did not follow him to close to the room straight away as the cyborg had a strange feeling about the vibrations that were also resonating with her body. Whatever force coming from the engine room, which could be seen through the small window by the door, it seemed to tug at her core. She stationed herself by the wall a good distance from the room, watching Cael as he peered into the room, his cncern melting away into confusion. Soon, he was tapping away, connecting to the intercoms all over the ship, warning everyone that there was indeed a teensy weensy little problem...

Once he had sped off in a hurry to get back to the cockpit, Artemis made to follow but her eyes were drawn to the strange energy coming from the engine room. Peering in, her eyes locked on to the strange blue energy that was bouncing around the engines as the humming began to increase in volume, rattling her to the core. From somewhere in the lower decks, strange blue patterns started to travel across the ship, speeding in the direction of the cockpit. Artemis made to move, but she found herself memorized as the strange blue energy curled around her metal limbs. It really... felt so strange.

It was like the blue energy was pouring into her body and the cyborg couldn't help wondering what the strange, alien power was... yet it felt also so familiar as it coursed through her body parts. Suddenly, the strange hot feeling that washed over her intensified and Artemis felt her mind go blank and inactive while her vision faded into empty whitness for a few seconds. It was almost like she had been switched off, unable to think or move.

And then it was gone.

The noise died down and the strange energy had left the ship. Everything was silent and dark as if the entire Odyssey and its crew members had died... and, for a moment, Artemis feared that they indeed had. But, as she softly edged in the direction of the cockpit, she could hear noises. Groaning....movement. On silent feet, the cyborg pressed herself against the cold metal wall and peered around the corner, spying Cael slowly get up from the floor as if he had fallen... strange. He got up slowly and rather shakily as if all the energy had been sapped from his body. Soon enough, Nu arrived at the door of the cockpit, seemingly rather weak and wobbly from the way she walked. What had happened them?

In contrast, the cyborg was completely fine. The strange energy seemed to not have affected her in anyway save for the strange empty and longing feeling in her chest... so what had the energy done to them? And why such different effects? Artemis had a theory... but there was no way to prove for sure till she had seen everyone else on the ship and their reactions to the strange happening. Did it have anything to do with their bodies? Was it perhaps due to their biological make up and what not that led to them reacting in a negative way to the energy? Which sould explain why Artemis was perfectly fine...

Peering around again, she noted the Kryx turn towards Cael as if intending to speak to him, Hopefully, Nu was way too groggy to hear Artemis as she observed the scene taking place in the Cockpit. The Doragon's hatlay on the ground, which suggested that he had fallen or something like that, while its owner stared out into space, searching for something in the stars. Then the Kryx spoke and the Gwathian's eyes narrowed at her words. What did she know?

As she was on her way to the Galley Rosalyn started to hear an abnormal noise coming from inside the ship. It wasn't long after that that she saw the flashing of red lights. "What the hell is going on?" Cael then came on the speakers saying something was wrong with the engines and that they were pulling out of light speed. Rosalyn's eyes grew wide. They had just left the planet not to long ago. As far as she knew Cael already fixed up everything and got the parts they needed to make it to their next destination. What went wrong? Out of her peripheral vision she could see a blue light start to engulf the ship. "What the heck is that?" She murmured. There was a voice in the back of her mind that was telling her to crystalize her-self now. Rosalyn never failed to listen to that voice. She knew it was her gut speaking to her. Right when her body fully crystallized  the blue light engulfed her and then shone so bright that it blinded her.

When Rosalyn came to she was on the ground. It took her a moment to compose herself. She used the wall to help lift her self off the ground. Rosalyn didn't remember falling to the ground her head did hurt from the fall. Looking down she saw a dent in the floor that outlines where her body collapsed. Rosalyn inwardly hoped that Cael wouldn't get too pissed at her. It isn't like she could have stopped it from happening and as far as she was concerned what happened just now with the engines was more important. It was then she remembered that Lara wasn't too far behind her. "Hey furball! Are you ok?"  She called out. She may not like to feline but they were in this together and it felt wrong not checking on her. Once she heard something from her she would go and find Cael.

@Lioness075

Trotting at first and then slowing to a walk, Larassa followed after Sparkles' odd quiet, yet loud footfalls ahead of her. Mindlessly her hands into the pockets of her leather pants, Larassa started going over her mental list of what she still needed for her small garden when suddenly red lights started flashing around her. Instantly recognizing the lights as a really bad sign, not to mention Cael's mentioning of a problem with the engines, Larassa froze where she was.

Closing her eyes so she could focus intently on her hearing, Larassa then realized she could hear the faintest sound of something humming. Knowing none of the crew could hum that loudly, Larassa furrowed her brows and moved forward as if to turn the corner and finally rejoin Sparkles. Perhaps she had an idea of what was wrong?

Before Larassa could even make it around the corner, her vision suddenly went black and she awoke to find herself lying on the ground on her side. Frowning at this, Larassa shakily pushed herself up and onto all fours, as her vision was in and out of focus, and a steady headache now accompanied her. Struggling against the wall to get on her hind legs, Larassa stumbled forward until she was back on all fours and promptly threw up her last meal.

Hearing Sparkles calling out to her, Larassa quickly wiped her mouth and sidestepped her mess before turning the corner on all fours. Trying to hide how shaken she was and how crappy she felt, Larassa replied in her steadiest of voices, "I'm fine...Sparkles."

Hoping Sparkles would leave to investigate the problem, Larassa remained where she was, purposefully lingering so she could find some way to clean up her mess before anyone found it. Larassa also truly hoped that Sparkles had not heard her initial reaction to passing out. Light speed traveling was bad enough, mixing in some mysterious 'thing' causing her to pass out did not do Larassa any favors.

Cael continued to scan the stars for a few moments until he heard the others behind him. He turned to find Nu standing in the cockpit saying something about needing to show him something. This made him raise an eyebrow to the Kryx. Had she brought something on board that had caused the energy surge? As he turned tout head back to the console, he felt the drain of energy in his limbs still but it was beginning to fade. In the haste to return to the cockpit, Cael hadnt noticed that his bonus leg and arm felt completely nornal. With so much energy being released throughout the ship, why hadn't it affected his arm and leg?

His question became a lesser concern when Artemis areived, completely unharmed. She looked just as he had left her moments ago. This made him extremely  curious  and he heaves himself over to the console of the captains chair and began reading signs tic gauges for the ship. The ship was completely fine. Engines, warp drive, shields, guns, oxygen and gravity generators; everything was fine. Cael was completely perplexed.

He sighed before lifting the Com devise from the console and held up before him.

"If ya can stand, head for the lounge. If yes not there in 5 min, imma come lookin fer ya. Slime, I need yer help."

Cael put the Com down and turned back to Nu and Artemis as he noticed his hat in Artemis' hands. He hadn't even noticed it had fallen off when he got up. What the hell had just happened?

He lifted himself from the chair and walked over to Artemis. He extended his hand and took the hat from her hands.

"Thanks. Didn't even realism it had fallen off."

He nodded to Artemis as he replaced the hat atop his head. He then turned to Nu and motioned back down the hall.

"Ok Nu, what have ya got fer me?"

While Tiberius waited in his hideout for the right moment to reveal himself, he tried peeking around the crates to get a better look at his surroundings but from this position, he could only see small parts of a curved hallway. He sat back down in the corner nearest to the exit and pulled his hood back enough so that he could press his ear on the cold metal wall, hoping that this would allow him to hear what was going on with the crew. There was a soft humming noise from the engines working to maintain the speed but he was still able to hear some of the conversations, except for the ones on the upper deck. He immediately recognized Artemis’ and Hunter’s voice so he tried listening closely, isolating the ship’s sounds as best he could.

“Trip to Avalon?” he found himself repeating the words as if to confirm what he had just overheard the Dorogan saying. This was a fabled place, unconfirmed by even today’s highly advanced space exploration technologies. Looking for it was, in his opinion, one very expensive and time-consuming, not to mention nonsensical trip into the abyss. On the other hand, all the fame and glory for actually finding it was definitely going to be worth all the trouble, and these crewmembers didn’t look like the stupidest of people. The diversity of species might not have been all that random either. Each one brought experience and knowledge from individual galaxies, planets, and cultures. He now was even more curious than before, imagining all the things he could achieve with the reward.

A louder than normal humming suddenly reached his ears and Tiberius was forced to pull back from the wall as the noise was getting unbearable, making his ears ring. He wondered what was happening. He didn’t know the ship and how it operated but this could hardly be standard for it. The red beacon lights on the ceiling turning on and the captain’s warning confirmed the existing problem. Then the issue seemed to get fixed again, the loud humming dying down. Tiberius heaved a sigh of relief but it was short lived as the noise was soon replaced by a strange blue pattern enclosing them from the direction of the ship’s center, getting brighter with every inch it covered. By the time it had reached him, the light was already blinding him. He had nowhere to escape from it so he had simply curled up in the corner, covering his face and chest. It was then that he passed out, overwhelmed by the pulsating energy engulfing him. He knew he was going to regret entering this ship but he didn’t imagine in his wildest dreams that he would be annihilated by some strange alien technology.

When he came back to, the confused vigilante first looked all around and at himself, glad that the pattern had disappeared, then dug one of his claws under a scale on his tail deep enough to cause himself pain and confirm that he was awake and alive. He was pretty much done waiting for anything else to happen at this point and stood up from the ground, finding himself in need of the wall for support as he walked out of the cargo hold and headed down the curved hallway. In his other hand, he was holding his trusty short sword, untrusting his still somewhat blurry vision to shoot a pistol.

He could hear the crewmembers checking on each other, clearly having experienced the same thing and while their voices sounded odd and distant, he soon stumbled across the archer who had threatened him back in the hangar and had called him some funny nickname. His eyes trailed down to the small puddle of vomit the birdfox had probably made and was now trying to figure out a way to clean it up. Just as he opened his mouth to comment on the mess, his stomach emitted a growl, reminding him that he hadn’t had a proper meal for days, even though the puddle looked and smelled everything but appetizing. “Well, this is awkward.” He muttered and stayed where he was, just hoping that the Siklaid wouldn’t call for assistance and then blame all the mess on him.

Nu's tail flicked back and forth nervously, and her ears hung low against her head. "I s'hould not 'ave kept it from you. I'm not sure how to say why I did, without sounding like I 'ave lost my mind." She said, as she started walking and motioned for him to follow. "I.. I felt it to be Kryx, and no outsider should be allowed to claim what is Kryx.. but I did not know it could harm the ship."

Nu led him out, intending to take him straight to her quarters and show him the box, but when they stepped out, she found herself staring at Lara, who looked rather terrible, and the being from earlier, the one who had been in the hangar. Nu's nose registered two scents: the musky smell of Tiberius, and the sour smell of fresh vomit.

Nu glanced at the two of them, and then at Cael, with a mildly confused expression. "I will.. I will get it while you figure this out." She said to Cael, and moved past the pair with a slightly distrustful glance at the stranger. When she saw him in the hangar, she had thought he might be trouble. Turns out she was right.

The Kryx stepped onto the lift and returned to her quarters, finding Glo'cer inspecting her bed. "Problems with the ship, a stowaway, and my bunkmate inspecting my mattress." She commented, her tail flicking back and forth. "I'm starting to t'hink this job will not be worth it." The Kryx stood next to where Glo'cer was looking and used her tail to retrieve the box, perhaps even a little smugly. "You could 'ave asked if I knew what the writing came from. I would not 'ave lied." Nu said, taking the box into her hands and turning to go.

Glo'cer felt like he had placed his hand on nearly every part of the under bed. He could have sworn this area was where the phenomenon had sprouted. After a while of searching, he slowly began to feel he was going crazy from the repetitiveness. Of all the things.... He grunted to himself as he swayed his hand back and forth, collecting a little dust that settled after who knows how long. He perked up when he thought he felt something... only for it to be a dust bunny. Once Nu walked in, He jutted up and banged the back of his head on the bed. With a hiss, he stood back up, rubbing his head. He watched as the Kryx took the strange box from under her bed. Glo'cer was perplexed at where it could have been hiding. Surly his bunk mate would be an interesting species to inspect over time. Really? I feel as though I am learning a lot more than I once was. Either way... I figure your abrupt entrance and quick actions to retrieve this box means you wish to share it. You did run off rather quickly, which in turn, didn't give me much time to ask. We should head out. I have been putting off meeting with everyone as requested by Cael. I find it quite fascinating how you hid such an object so well. Perhaps you may show me some methods later? Once he felt his head starting to feel better, he soon realized his body was still rather uncomfortable with the force that over took the ship. His head still felt light and his legs felt more like jelly than before. He made a light cough at his own discomfort. I will just follow you. He said, finding his mind still scrambled and his limbs feeling more like jelly than normal. He was interested on how this whole endevour would play out. Knowing that Nu held something mysterious from everyone was quite the problem and he wondered how Cael would react.

 @Flutterby @zCrookedz

Cael followed after Nu as she lead the way and began speaking. The more she spoke, the more Cael couldn't help but feel as is the Kryx had lost her mind a little bit. Cael new of the Kryx a little bit, he know how strong their devotions to ancient religions and myths where. So it would only seem a bit natural for him to think Nu might be a little crazy, himself carrying very little for ancient beings and legends. But when she spoke as if the device had been the cause of the energy pulse, Caels nerves began to tighten. Had she brought something on the ship that had put them all in danger? That thought made Cael tense, and a bit angry.

When they reached the end of the hall and Nu stopped, Cael nearly ran into her in his thoughts. When he stopped and looked around, the smell being the first thing to greet him as he spied Larassa hovering over a mess that he could only guess was caused by the energy pulse they had all suffered. It wasn't the first time someone had emptied the contents of their stomachs onto the floor of the ship, a few drunken night came to Caels mind after successful smuggling jobs. But before he could make a move to help, Nu headed for the lift, and Cael's eyes followed until they landed on a figure he had never exspected to see after leaving Cardaleon.

Cael felt his legs moving beneath him before he knew what he was doing. He had sidestepped around Larassa and her mess and was making a Beeline straight for the Gehennian, who from the looks of it, was just as confused as everyone else. A sensible person would have picked up on this, put two and two together and come to the conclusion that the Gehennian had nothing to do with what had happened to the ship. Unfortunately for Tib, Cael was about the least sensible person in the galaxy when he was aggravated. Cael stopped inches from Tib and in a flash had Tib by the front of his cloak and pressed up against the wall. He slowly began to lift him from the floor of the ship, while his blaster barrel was pressed into the bottom of Tib's jaw. Cael's voice was deep and held obvious anger, and as he spoke, he slowly pulled the charging lever back on his blaster.

"I'll give you one chance, and one chance only, stow-away. What did you do to my ship?"

Tiberius could hear the three pairs of footsteps, one alternating with light and heavy metallic steps, the other two almost silent, coming their way and a female voice, which he assumed belonged to the Kryx. She sounded much different from the first time he had heard her talk to Artemis, much more worried now, explaining about some Kryx-related thing that may have caused the strange events that had just occurred.

When they came into view, he moved away from the wall he had been using for support until now, feeling his body recovering and able to stand on its own. He watched the Kryx disappear into the lift and quickly turned his attention to Hunter, who was now coming his way at a brisk pace, an angry expression on his face as if the vigilante had just killed all his loved ones.

Tiberius let himself be slammed and lifted up against the wall as if he weighed nothing more than a child, not all that surprising considering the Dorogan’s combined force of his above average size and the mechanical arm. As the muzzle of the blaster was pressed on his jaw, he released the mechanism holding his sword in his hand and let it drop to the ground, grasping Hunter’s metal arm in an attempt to loosen his grip and also to avoid himself complete hanging like a ragdoll.

He could have used the blade now laying on the ground to cut the other down or at least defend himself, before it even got to this, but he had chosen not to for a variety of reasons: He was outnumbered one to six, didn’t know how to operate this sort of spacecraft and on top of all, he wasn’t even hostile anymore. He actually wanted to join them on their expedition now.

“You can’t be serious. I didn’t do anything to your ship. I was affected like the rest of you.” He tried explaining, hoping that the Dorogan would see reason in his words for he was speaking the truth. “Besides, the Kryx already told you what that weird thing was and Artemis can confirm I didn’t have anything on me that could have caused all of this.” Tiberius was trying to keep his calm but it was getting harder, seeing as Hunter sure didn’t look like a man ready to believe anyone who not only had threatened him but had now also snuck onboard without permission.

While Cael and Nu conversed in the cockpit, Artemis remained silent by the door but turned to leave once Ironfist announced over the comm system for all the other members who could stand to make there way over to the lounge. However, Nu's next words caught the cyborg's attention so, instead of returning to the First Mate's quarters, she decided to trail the Dorogan' and the Kryx as she led the way most likely back to the crew's cabins. Whatever Nu had to say... it sounded rather interesting.

Not wanting to appear too curious or suspicious, Artemis waited for them to round the corner before following the pair back down the halls with soft footsteps though she was quite sure that Nu could hear her either way with that acute hearing of hers.

As they approached the crew cabins, Artemis took note of the change in Cael's and Nu's expression as if they had smelt something bad. A few more steps and the cyborg too was hit with a rather...interesting smell. Peaking down the hall between the dorogan and the kryx, she spied Larassa standing by something rather unpleasant and a familiar figure who brought a rather amused smile to Artemis's face. Well well, what was he doing here?

Seconds later and Cael had Tiberius by the neck and against the wall with An iron grip around the Gehennian's neck and a blaster to his chin. Observing from a distance and fairly out of sight, the cyborg's smile only widened as Shadow mentioned her and how she could vouch for him. Perhaps she could help him, but he'd owe her one then.

"He's right," the Gwathian spoke up, walking towards the group with a calm expression on her face as her eyes focused on Tiberius's. "Shadow here.... I trust him. He didn't have anything on him, so he couldn't have done anything to the ship. Besides, if he did anything to the Odyssey or any of us, he'd be in quite a sticky situation no matter how you look at it."

Approaching the Dorogan cautiously, she lay a firm hand on the metal arm of his, casting Cael a reassuring smile which was also a warning for him to choose his actions wisely. She had to remind him that the situation could go south fast depending on the Dorogan's decisions. "Don't worry, Cael. Besides, the ship is fine, right?"

Not long after she'd responded to Rosalyn, Larassa turned to the side to see Lizard standing down the hall from her with a rather perplexed expression. While Larassa was instantly suspicious of his reasons for being here and, much like Cael, ignored the logic to this situation, she promptly hissed at Lizard with her ears pinned to her head.

Taking a step or two away from her mess, Larassa soon returned to her hind legs, standing up since her body had mostly recovered by now and she didn't feel like she was in a dizzy spell anymore.

Not necessarily caring much when Cael threw Lizard against the wall, Larassa snickered before realizing she still had her mess in plain view of everyone present. Crap.

Frowning, Larassa realized there was nothing handy to clean up with and so she skirted around her mess before moving closer to Cael. Before she could make any remarks about Lizard or her strong dislike for him in general considering he'd aimed a blaster at her pilot, Artemis was at Cael's side and trying her best to deter him from harming Lizard or potentially tossing him off the ship. Personally, Larassa had always wondered what it'd be like to watch someone be ejected out of a ship while in space. It could be rather humorous.

Crossing her arms over her chest, Larassa then spoke up once Artemis finished her own rousing speech.

"Y'know, I've nevah seen somevone be ejected out of a ship bevore. Lizard cou'd make a fine example."

Grinning now, Larassa waited for Cael to respond.

Nu stared down at the box for a moment, wondering if the warmth she felt coming from it was physical from what it had done, or a spiritual comfort. She gave Glo'cer a look over her shoulder. "You talk too much, Numbers." She said flatly. After a moment of thought, she added, "People forget to account for perspective. It is fine to hide something under a mattress when someone is standing, but what about when they look under the bed? A hole in the mattress fixes that."

Nu's ears flickered, and she grimaced. "Come on, you dont want to miss the fireworks." She said, and beckoned him to follow.

When she returned, Artemis had joined the party, Lara had stood, and Cael had successfully started accosting the Lizard-being for reasons that didnt entirely make sense. She had heard all of the dialogue while gone, and she gave the sadistic Lara an odd look, something between disgust and fascination.

With that aside, she squared her skinny shoulders. "Artemis is right. He did nothing to the ship." The Kryx held up the white box she held. "This did." Nu's ears wilted, and she regarded the crew warily, expecting the backlash to be rather harsh.

Cael watched as the Gehennian struggled under the weight of his arm. He had to admit to himself, he rather enjoyed watching the lizard man squirm while his mind was set on him having messed with his ship. But when he dropped his sword when he could have obviously used it to help him out of his situation, Cael gave the Gehennian a bit of a questionable glance as he listened to him explaining himself. While true, Nu had told him only moments before that something she had had caused what happened to the ship, the sudden apearance of a new passenger aboard the ship had spark Cael automatic distrust for others leading him to the current situation. When he mentioned Artemis and was then reassured by the cyborgs touch on his arm and her words of reassurance, Cael's suspicious eyes darted from on to the other as his grip lessened on the Lizard.

It wasn't until Nu returned carrying a strange looking box that Cael released Tibs and let him drop back to the floor. Cael's eyes were fixated on the box, it was smooth and white and he could tell just from looking at it that the box itself was Imperial. He stepped over towards her a bit cautiously, hesitating a little bit when he reached out and take the box. Nu had said it called to her when she touched it. so what would happen if Cael touched the box. Finally he curled his hands around the box, and lifted it from Nu's hands. Nothing happened. Cael stood there, holdING the box and starring at it with bewilderment, and a bit of annoyance. He looked from Nu to the box then to everyone else in the room, before giving the box a little shake. He then proceeded to flip the box over and over from one hand to the next looking it over, while shaking it a little harder. Finally he stopped, and held the box out in his mechanical hand with a smile of disbelief.

"This? This is what caused my ship to jump into and unknown section of space? It's just a box? Doesn't even sound like there's anything in it."

Cael gave the box one last glance before he set it down on the table beside the box of opened com links and then turned back to Tib, whom he had not forgot about.

"You on the other hand are still an unaccounted for stow away on MY ship. A ship headed for parts that you ain't got no business be'in on."

Cael glanced over at the loading bay door and his thoughts went back to what he had heard Lara say before Nu had arrived. The side panel that lowered the ramp for loading and unloading had a second set of switches that would close air lock doors, creating an airlock chamber if one needed to go outside while in space.

Cael turned back to Tibs and the others with a bit of a smile.

"Never had the chance myself to jettison a stowaway from the ship. I'm with Lara, it might be kinda neat to see."

Rosalyn had thought she was fine to move but once she tried running to go find everyone else, her world started spinning. Stopping, her hands went to her head, as if holding it would stabilize the room. When it did not, she Went to go lean up against wall and shut her eyes, waiting for the dizziness to go away. She eventually slid down to the ground. It was embarrassing for her to look so weak infront of the Furball but there was nothing she could do about it. After hearing Cael's announcement on the speakers she decided it would just be better to stay here, close to Lara, than wonder off on her own in this state. Rosalyn had traveled on a spaceship many times but never had this reaction to anything. What in the world was that light?

Not  much time had passed before she heard steps coming towards them. It wouldn't have been weird since she knew the other would have come looking for the at some point but she didn't recognize the foot fall pattern. Opening her eyes Rosalyn was relieved that the room stopped spinning the head ache was now very dull. She looked up and saw this lizard creature. Why does it look so familiar?    Rosalyn never really got a good look at him when they were on the planet so she didn't particularly know who he was. Before she had a chance to question the creature she could heard multiple people coming this way. Rosalyn quickly stood up, not wanting to look weak in front of the others. Her body stayed crystalized since she had no idea who the foreign creature in front of her was. Rosalyn made a mental check to make sure her condition (one her body) didn't get any worse, after all she had no idea how long she was out for.

Rosalyn's first thought was to look at Cael as he came up to him. The look on his face was a little scary when he saw the lizard folk. She backed away a little as the scene in front of her unfolded. Questions popped in her head as the man said he was innocent and that the Kryx had something to do with this and that she had told them herself. Rosalyn did not trust the man at all but for some odd reason Artemis was defending him. She did not like the way Artmis reach out at Cael and the look she had given him. What in the world was that cyborg thinking?   Rosalyn couldn't help the smile that formed on her lips when Lara recommended he get ejected from the ship. She didn't care about the fact that Nu even admitted to the box being the problem, the lizard was still a stow away. "I agree with Fur Ball and Cael. Would be interesting to watch."

Tiberius let go of Hunter’s arm just as he released him as well. While the Dorogan then continued to inspect the unexpectedly small box the Kryx had brought, the vigilante used this time to bring his coat back into shape and to pull the scarf down from his face, which was additionally somewhat muffling his voice, all while listening and glancing at what was happening a couple of steps from him. They all seemed rather surprised that this small thing could have caused all of this turmoil.

There were toxic plants on Gehenna, the mere odor of which could make you nauseous and if this box contained some substance so strong it could cause hallucinations and pass out, they would still be affected by it, which they didn’t seem to be anymore.

The Dorogan was soon done foolishly playing with the box that had apparently teleported them to who knows where and turned back to Tiberius, who hadn’t missed what the Siklaid had offered to happen with him, even though he was hoping the other would have. The growing number of supporters of this idea was even more unsettling. He could call his sword still laying on the ground at any moment but that would only cause them all to jump on him and he knew he didn’t stand a chance against all of them at once.

“I can easily acquire a willing subject if you’re all so eager to see a man explode in outer space. In fact, there are so many of them you can make a daily routine out of it.” He said in a slightly joking tone, referring to all the victims falling to him vigilantism. “I, on the other hand, can offer a variety of skills that could be useful to you fine people on your little trip to Avalon for parts and souvenirs. I ain’t called Shadow for no reason, as Artemis here already mentioned.” He continued and threw a small smile to his cyborg friend in the background before looking back at Hunter. “And while I’d love to tell you all about them, I do believe you’ve got a more serious problem on your hands than me, starting with our unknown location and limited supply of fuel.”

Nu watched Cael expectantly as he reached out and took the box, waiting for the instant that he heard the hum and felt the tingle of energy crawl across his skin. But the pilot simply looked at her, and then the others, shaking the box and turning it over and over in his hands. Nu's eyes went wide, as he held the box out and questioned her like a stupid child. The box was placed on the table, and seemingly forgotten.

What had just happened? She had heard the box, felt it, it had spoken to her and written on the walls.. and yet Cael thought it was simply an empty box. Nu looked at the others, who all seemed to be much more interested in throwing the lizard-thing out of the ship, and walked back over to her box.

It sat innocently on the table, as if mocking her. Several choice words, muttered in her native tongue, escaped her as she stared at it. After a few seconds, in which Tiberius was making his case for not being sucked into space, she picked it back up. Was the warmth she felt imagined, or real?

"Four corners.. one path.." She murmured, turning the box over and glancing at Cael and Tiberius. Four corners, like the corners of the box? The corners of a map? Was the 'one path' the path they had taken to their unknown, unmappable location?

Or was it the 'one path' to enlightenment, the righteous walk to the Krasic? Nu shook her head at this; she needed to stop injecting her beliefs into this mission, as hard as it was. It would only make the others question her sanity and reliability.

Nu watched the others with a disgusted expression, absently rubbing one thumb over the lock on the box. "It's no wonder t'hat the worlds outside of Via are constantly at war; only violence can hold your attentions for long enough to be accomplished."  Maybe her tone was a little harsh. But, not only did she think Cael was an idiot for not paying attention to what she had said and showed, her pride was hurt by the fact that she couldn't prove what she had felt and heard, and so she wasn't believed.

Artemis remained silent as the others spoke with her eyes flicking from one person to the other. Larassa, Cael and Rosalyn's eagerness to see Tiberius launched into space brought a light chuckle to the cyborg. It would indeed be interesting to see.... but the Gehennian obviously had some objections to such a fate, like anyone else who didn't want to have their bodies ripped apart from the sheer pressure of outer space.

Her momentary amusement was replaced with curiosity as Nu spoke of the strange box and had let Cael examine it. Yet the cyborg, like the others, could see nothing significant about the strange object. In a way, it really did seem like the Kryx had lost her marbles but, Artemis held off some judgement. Nu didn't seem like the type of person to lie about such a thing and there would be no other way of explaining the strange energy that had taken hold of the ship from earlier. Perhaps they should at least keep the box in mind when they rechecked for the cause of the phenomenon.

Rosa was also listening quite intently to everyone's thoughts on the situation and, from her facial expressions, Artemis could see that the girl obviously was questioning the Gwathian's reasons for helping Tiberius. To anyone, it was strange for her to help an otherwise complete stranger to the team who had snuck on bored and was suspected to be the cause of the strange happening that warped them into unknown territory and left them almost completely stranded. Tiberius argued his own reasons for being innocent and, as he cast her a smile, she returned it, formulating what should be said next. After all, it would seem that most were against letting him get out alive. Though she doubted that her words could make a big impact on his fate, Artemis concluded that leaving him completely abandoned to the mercy of the others was definitely not going to end pretty.

"I like anyone I'm quite sure would love to eject someone into space and watch an explosion of gore and what not, but really, wouldn't it be quite a waste?" she started, casting a look at the members of their small band of misfits. "I mean, he himself obviously has some skills that can prove him useful to us, and what's wrong with an extra hand to help with our task? The more the merrier, am I right?" Flicking her eyes to Tiberius, she wondered if she should downplay his skills to make him less of a threat... or bring him up and make him look valuable. "If we were to let him speak of his own skills, he may prove to be a valuable team member... yet it is highly unlikely that, as strong as he may be, he'll pose a threat to any of us." This was a warning to Tibs. If he was allowed to tell his skills, he'd better be careful how strong or weak he made himself out to be.

"Speaking of threats, he hasn't done anything to the ship. Nu afterall said that the strange energy from earlier was caused by the box, so there really isn't any reason to waste power on operating the air lock in order for us to launch him into space to go splat," Artemis continued, grinning mischievously as she looked at Lara, Cael and Rosalyn, "Save for our own amusement that is, but would it really be worth it?"

Glancing to the side when she heard someone joining the party, Larassa noted Nu carrying some small box. As far as Larassa could tell, the thing was harmless and useless. How could something like that end up messing so much with the ship and most of its crew-plus-one?

Watching Cael handle the box and flinching when he carelessly tossed it about, Larassa's suspicions were confirmed when the Dorogan dismissed it as nothing more than an empty lockbox.

Folding her ears back against her head, Larassa couldn't help but move a few steps over to where the box was and sniff at the air in general. Not trusting the box since Nu had sounded so confident in its danger, Larassa slowly started to raise one of her arms only for Nu to pick the box up again. So much for the poking test.

Returning her attention to Lizard, Larassa frowned when he began defending himself against the many approvals of watching him float around in space. It wasn't like they had any other test subject out here. Logically, Lizard was their best option.

Hearing Nu's dislike of Larassa's brilliant space travel idea, she let out a quiet harrumph before crossing her arms over her chest. It was safe to say that Nu wouldn't be much fun around here.

As Artemis began defending Lizard, Larassa promptly rolled her eyes before glancing in any direction besides Lizard's. This idiot showed up at that hangar and had a blaster pointed at Cael's face, but Larassa was expected to welcome him with open arms? Hell no.

By the time Artemis finished speaking, Larassa took a threatening step forward while growling and dropping her arms to her side so she could use them, if necessary.

"Zis 'Lizard' showed up in ou' hanga' and aimed a blaste' at ou' pilot's face! I don't trust him and would rather kill him!"

Despite lacking her trusty bow and daggers, Larassa knew her claws and fangs would likely be more than enough in the moment. Plus, Lizard already disarmed himself.

Glo'cer followed the beckoning of Nu as she left the room. He felt sluggish and weak, even after he had time to recover from the strange force. He cared not for the nickname the Kryx came up with. Numbers... How simple. He muttered. Nu seemed to be spry enough to walk to the lounge area with ease but the Solidus had to use the wall as a support the whole way down. Even from this distance, he could hear the crew getting worked up over something. He let out a deep sigh. I had to get suck with barbarians... He let that thought fade as he thought about the box Nu had taken from her bed. It seemed... familiar in some senses. It wasn't something you saw everyday. He had a catalog like mind at the moment as he sorted through various different items he had messed with. Each more advanced than the rest. As he was sorting things in his mind, he finally made it to the lounge area only to see a new face. The reptilian being who had been near the ship just earlier. A stow away? It made sense considering ships got blasted out of the air. If his ship went down, it would be hard getting back out. While everyone was wrapping up their physical show off's, Glo'cer found it strange that the box was resting peacefully in Nu's arms. Shouldn't they have been more interested in the object that caused all the trouble. As he gazed at the box, something clicked in his mind. His eyes widened with amusement and curiosity. It was like a birthday gift to him.

That! Getting a clear look at it now... How fascinating! He said with more energy in his voice than normal. The pure giddiness of his tone was enough to tell something of importance was around. How did you come about an Infinity Lockbox? Those are not just simple contraptions placed willy nilly in the world. He slinked over to Nu with his eyes fixated on the box. OOO the goodies that must be inside! Its been years since I managed to mess with one! It's not so simply opened either! the Key to it is such an innovative piece of tech in its own right. His hands slowly made their way to the box, the fingers curling more with every inch. He stopped himself just a few inches away from the box as he looked up to Nu. Though he was a little embarrassed he was seen in such a giddy mood, he wouldn't let that shake him from his goal. Would you mind... If I took a look at it. It's been a while but I think I still have the basic method to cracking it open. The question was more rhetorical than anything. He WAS going to get his hands on the Lockbox. It would just be easier if she handed it over right now.

The others continued to argue, with only one mention of her box, and Nu began to think she would rather go back to her quarters and take a nap than listen to them decide the lizard's fate. Her ear gave a twitch as Lara spoke; such sudden loyalty to the pilot must come from her animal instincts. Since the conversation about the lizard was going nowhere, she watched Glo'cer approach. He appeared more sluggish than anyone else. Maybe the type of energy clashed more with his life-force than with the rest of them? Nu found this interesting to consider, and missed the part where his eyes fell on her box and grew giddy. The next moment, he was full of energy, babbling to her about something called an infinity lockbox.

Nu looked down at the box, and repeated "Infinity Lockbox?" He mentioned the key, it being a piece of tech, and she made a face. No wonder she hadnt been able to pick the lock, it wasnt a traditional lock at all. But when he asked to take the box from her, she looked up sharply and bared her teeth, which were at least as sharp and deadly as Lara's.

"Whatever is in t'his box is rightfully mine; Cael does not claim it and I am certain it is of the Kryx. None but Kryx may have what is Kryx." These phrases were uttered as a growl, and a set of spikes that were previously unseen, laying flat in indents of her skin, rose along her spine like the hackles of a dog. She paused, and the spines began to relax. She had to know what was inside. "You can open it, because I do not know how and because you will enjoy it, but what is inside belongs to me." Nu slowly handed the box over, and then proceeded to hover over Glo'cer like a worried parent.

@Bolts

He cared not for the open ended question as she repeated the name of the box, he was more interested in fooling around with the tech more than anything. Sure, he was interested on what was held within the box, but just seeing the chance at working the box again was more than enough. Glo'cer started backing away as the spines from Nu started to appear. They were prominent and definitely did their intended job. He was in fact intimidated but he tried his best to remain calm in his composure. He was surprised when the Kryx handed her possession over with care.  I assure you, I am more interested in the box than the contents, though I would still like to look at whatever is inside....with your supervision of course. He said carefully as to not create another round of intimidation. Once he felt the presence of Nu looming over his shoulder, he felt it was time to start fooling with the box itself. He didn't want to waste time in case something were to happen to it. The contents messed with the ship so who knew what else it could do. It's a fairly simple idea with a complex method of creating it. It takes a special key to unlock the hole in the box itself, then you have to work it in order to get the second lock. Picking a lock like this would be unheard of by normal means. It is computerized in ways that makes it exceedingly hard to pick it with each attempt. He finished his ramble as he twisted the box in his hands. He was gazing more at the beauty of the technology more than anything. He made a gaze up to Nu for a moment before he brought a long, thin finger up to his mouth. There was a clipping sound as he bit down on it. He was normalized to the pain. After years of being experimented on as well as his own endeavors, small pain was the least of his worries.

From his finger came some of his fluid. An electric blue substance which also highlighted the glowing bulbs on his body as well as his eyes. He carefully brought his finger to the box's keyhole. A light hissing sound could be heard to those who listened closely. That is normal...He said as he focused on the lock. It was a process unlocking both locks. He had to be careful not to trigger the security control that made the lock increasingly more difficult to pick over time. He wasn't able to reach the chip that held the security either for it was deep inside the box as well. It felt like time had stopped for Glo'cer as he went through the processes he had made in his head. Each carefully planned from what he knew of the box. One...His finger dug even deeper into the lock. More...He torqued his arm so he could place his finger the right way. Drop. He squeezed his arm gently as the pressure made a small drop of his liquid come out. A clicking sound happened as he did. His eyes widened with glee at his achievement. He wanted to keep the box for himself. He knew if he messed with the security, he could make an ever increasingly difficult puzzle to accomplish. Careful now. Whoever put something in here may have trapped it. He said as he carefully opened the lid. Within the box was a a strange shape. A white rectangle with rounded edges. A slight curve that made it seem like there were no edges at all to the object. It glistened at the lights of the ship. How... unexpected... Nu, is this something from your people? He said as he reached to the rectangle. His intention was to hand the rectangle to Nu, however, when he touched the object he received a nasty jolt to his body. His body jumped a little from the shock he received and the object remained in the box. Glo'cer was left laying down, a little confused at what just happened.
