Lok'Tar
The raven is the bird of a true warrior. One of death and carnage. - Beowulf

An ancient legend. Rán the goddess of the sea and her nine daughters will forever guide the viking warrior. Vida, the god of vengeance will always willingly help Rán set right any wrongs she witnesses.

Prologue
762 BC- The longboat was tossed on the waves. The crew scrambled to hold the mass and sails together. Just as it looked like the raging seas was going to claim them all, Novak stood, and the storm subsided. It was said that, when the Nine Daughters cried out for their due, he alone had the power to calm them. It was believed that no other was as favored among the gods. Among his crew was a witch, one of Hel and Loki. Her unearthly beauty made every man lustful but it was her dark powers that made them quake in fear. With her aboard, nothing seemed to stand in Novak's way. But as the voyage went on, the witch Sanija found that she was falling more and more in love with him with each passing day. But it was an unrequited love. For his heart and soul already belong to another.

At first, Sanija told herself she was happy just sailing by his side. That their quest was one of hopeless faith and would never succeed. Allowing her to stay with him forever. For Novak had a wife who was stricken by a mysterious illness. An illness without a cure it seemed. But after pleading with the gods, an answer came to him in a dream. A rare white flower that only bloomed once every 10 years under the light of a full moon on the clefts of a waterfall would hold the key to her salvation. Since then Novak voyaged relentlessly from island to island. Looking for his flower. The years on the water made him cold, uncaring. Fearing that quest was one destined to doom. Sure that he had already failed in his mission. Although the crew had grown rich beyond their wildest dream. And Sanija was in bliss with her warrior by her side. Novak was slowly giving way to despair. Not even the siren songs of the Nine Daughters could comfort him. That was until the flower was found. The pedals were almost iridescent. With a fragrance that was light, sweet, and hung on the air.

It housed the life-saving nectar Novak so desperately needed. But for Sanija, the flower marked her desolation. The flower represented the end to her time with her love, her champion. It meant he would return home to his family and leave her behind. Her eyes clouded with anger, jealousy, and bitterness. The thought of leaving him drove her insane. Crying out to the dark goddess Hel, Sanija begged for a way to keep Novak to herself for all eternity. Just as the group returned home, misfortune struck yet again. The moonflower wilted and died. The waters housed in it dried up and Novak no longer had the key ingredient he needed to save his wife. Instead, unbeknown to him, the witch Sanija had placed the original curse upon his wife. And it was her goddess that aided the witch in her own secret deceitful quest. Even after the passing of his wife, Novak wouldn't return the affections of Sanija. Lost to his grief and despair. Sanija's love for him turned sour as she once more called to her gods. They insured Novak would never die and wouldn't cross the rainbow bridge. That he would never be reunited with his wife in Valhalla. But Hel wasn't the only god watching. Rán and Vida had never turned a blind eye to their champion.
