The cool breeze blowing through her hair was like a stroke of encouragement, and the city lights below like a soft, warm welcoming. As Lily stared down at the darkness below, her feet solidly placed on the rooftop's edge, she couldn't help swallowing hard. It had really come to this. After months of struggling to grasp some kind of foothold on her life, she was simply ready to give it all up. Help hadn't come, and so she'd fallen from whatever ledge she'd been on and now she was still falling, waiting for the impact to come. But it didn't have to come if she stopped herself halfway down, right? The solution was there, sitting many stories down below her on the pavement.

It would be over quick, Lily was sure of it. The fall would be scary, but after that, she would be free. She wouldn't have to worry about where her next meal would come from, or how she was going to make it without her family. She wouldn't have to scrape by with the little that she had been left with. And she wouldn't have to worry that she would be alone for the rest of her life.

Lily had sent one last text before she'd left her apartment behind that night. It'd been a quick one to her sister, the only person in her family she still talked to. It had read nothing more than 'This is goodbye, but I love you.', but it had been enough to ensure she'd at least not left this world without saying goodbye to the one person she hoped still loved her. Of course, she had also scribbled a messy note and left it on her bed, figuring she should at least leave something behind so they wouldn't wonder for long when they searched her apartment to discover why she had done this.

All of these thoughts flashed through her mind as she stood there, the wind still tousling her long, brown hair. Lily was surprised her brain had so much to think about in her final moments, but she let it come, figuring it was better to let it happen than to force it all away. She thought of her parents, and their extended family, and how they had banished her from their home and world when the news had broken. She thought of the few possessions she had managed to pack before leaving. Only a handful held any sentimental meaning, but it was better than nothing.

Finally, Lily let go of a heavy and defeated sigh, shaking her head to herself. "Okay, Lil," she whispered out into the darkness, her lips pressing into a thin line. It was time...

And with that, the young woman straightened and inched her way closer to the edge until her toes were just past it. At this point, if the wind so chose to blow with a little more force, she knew she would topple over the edge and begin to fall. She sort of hoped that would happen, so she wouldn't have to do it herself. Despite how sure she was that this was the right solution, she didn't want to do it. She wanted someone to find her, to grab her and pull her away from the ledge, but she knew there was no one out there who would. She had been forgotten.

So Lily closed her eyes, and outstretched her arms, deciding she was ready to let go for good. It was now or never.

The rooftop was his favorite spot. It had been since he was a little boy.

Dimitri pressed the back of his head against the cool brick of the small upper area to the open rooftop. It was the only doorway that led to a set up severe fucked up stairs that eventually led to the rooftop. His heavy lids had fallen over his eyes, long lashes fluttering down until the darkness had consumed him. The last thing he remembered was running off from his best friend, Felix. Why? Well, because why the fuck not.

Felix was a prick but had always looked out for him. The taller male was his best friend and had always convinced his rich parents to lend out some money. That didn't really matter because the green had turned transparent almost as soon as it hit the young male's fingers. If that wasn't enough to push Felix away, Dimitri's mood swings would be another hard blow to the poor guy. No matter what, Felix was still there and for that Dimitri was thankful.

The sound of the door from the upper stairwell slamming open caused Dimitri's eyes to snap open. His left eyebrow raised as he tilted his head forward to get a better look at whatever the hell just happened. A girl, that is what happened. A girl that looked like she was homeless and was--holy fuck she is going to jump. Eyelids drooping once more, his lids pressed against one another two times; each time checking to see if said girl was actually there or a figment of his fucked up imagination.

Nope, she's real.

The dark brown male pressed his fingertips behind his body, touching the brick wall as he pushed himself up and off of the ground. He had never actually talked someone down from throwing themself off of a building. This was going to go one of two ways and with his luck it'd be the bad way. With one hand smacking the pack of cigarette's against his leg, his other flicked the dial on the slim blue lighter. Within moments the thin paper was in between his slightly chapped lips while his feet started moving towards the girl.

He watched her back as she extended her arms out beside herself. This was seriously some Titanic bullshit.

"It's a pretty narly fall.", his words were slightly muffled from the cigarette in between his lips. Right hand now pushing the pack into the pocket of his pants as he made his was beside the brunette, his feet planted firmly against the ledge. "I wonder which one of us will land first." Dimitri leaned forward slightly, extending his arms out on either side of him while his fingertips brushed her own. The dark haired male allowed his mouth to open, the cigarette falling from his lips, falling effortlessly down the side of the large brick building.

"At least you dressed the part, I really didn't want to get blood on my jacket today."

"I'm going to kill her."

There were two very good reasons as to why she was going to kill her older sister, Lily, if she hadn't already done so herself. 1. How dare she thinks it would be okay to just go off and kill herself? 2. Amelia had received said goodbye text while she was at work so she had to leave and run the streets looking like a hooker.

The brunette stormed down the Main Street, her heels clicking angrily as she continued her search. The city of Boston was rather large and it was going to be almost impossible to find Lily. Of course the smarty herself waited for it to be almost pitch black aside from the lights of the large city. None of these situations stopped Amelia though. She was the scrappy one in the family. She was the only dumbass in the whole Pommero family that would be half naked running around in the dark trying to find her messed up older sister. Right, did we mention that Amelia was the younger of the two?

"Hey baby, you going anywhere?"

The cat calls were becoming ridiculous. Honestly, how many times did a man use the same lines? It was sad to see how many men had said the same line. The brunette pulled the crop top closer to her chest, huffing lightly as she started growing impatient. Lily was selfish. She was so selfish, wallowing in her own self pity in that stupid little run down apartment. It was her fault that they had been kicked out of their family to begin with. Instead of feeling sorry for herself Amelia took a different route. She did what she needed to in order to bring some quick cash in so they had somewhere to live. Sure, it wasn't ideal and she was pretty sure that 99% of the people who had come into the dance bar had some type of sexually transmitted disease but that was still okay.

It was still okay...because she still had her sister. "Lily-Rose, you better show up in the next five minutes or I'm going to kill you myself!", her voice was raspy due to the amount of shouting she had been doing within the last forty minutes.

"You can kill me baby."

Red. Snap. What the fuck. Amelia's head whipped towards the man who opened his mouth, her hands balling into fists as she stopped in her tracks. The dark male parted his lips to speak but before any words came out Amelia had already lunged off of the ground, her heels falling off her petite feet as her right fist connected with the male's cheek.

She was going to do it.

And then she wasn't.

Lily flinched a tiny bit when she heard a man's voice calling out to her, his tone low and almost a little muffled, as if he had something in his mouth. She turned her head quickly, but almost too quickly as she felt her body sway slightly. That had her heart jumping up into her throat as fear and panic washed over her. She had nearly fallen. And now she was realizing she didn't want to. Now that someone had noticed her, she didn't want to let go. She just wanted help.

Those thoughts were only confirmed when the stranger beside her let his cigarette fall from his lips, the white and tan stick quickly disappearing from sight as it tumbled towards the ground. Perhaps he had done that intentionally, perhaps not, but either way, it made Lily feel like ice. That would have been her if this man hadn't interrupted her plans.

For several long moments, with her heart hammering inside of her chest, Lily stood there and stared down at the darkness below. Her hands had fallen back to her sides by now, though her fingertips tingled a little from where they had brushed against this man's. She had heard his words about her dressing the part, and although a little odd, she couldn't find it in herself to reply. All of this, and the realization that she didn't want to end things this way, still had her a bit shell shocked. Finally, though, the young woman managed to get her wits about her just enough to step off of the ledge and back away, but with her legs feeling like jelly from the adrenaline and fear, she didn't make it very far before tripping and landing on her butt. She let out a quiet 'oomph', but didn't move. Instead, she pulled her knees into her chest and stared at the ledge she had just been standing on. The one this man was still standing on now.

"You should get down from there," Lily breathed out, her light eyes on his dark ones now. How had the tables turned to her trying to talk him down from that ledge?

Swallowing hard, she tried to catch her breath and calm her panic and as she did so, she quietly studied this stranger's features. He was quite tall, taller than her for sure, and he had dark features. His jawline was quite prominent and his eyebrows dark and full, as were his lips... Realizing where her gaze had fallen, Lily cleared her throat and looked away, her hands trembling a bit as they now fiddled with her shirt.

Ironically, she felt more lost now than she had up there on that ledge. She didn't know what she was supposed to do. Did she leave? Did she go find her sister? Or did she stay up here with this guy, whoever he was? Considering how her legs still felt, though, Lily decided it was probably best to stay there sitting down, at least for a little while until her panic subsided and she could think straight once more. So she did, her knees drawn into her chest, as her gaze landed itself on this stranger again.

"Who are you?"

Dimitri was missing again. Usually Felix wouldn't have cared, or worried, or been bothered to find him. His best friend often disappeared and did his own thing for a time, only to show up again later so he could crash. Tonight, though, he wanted to find him, if only to give him a bit of hell for quite literally running away from him in the grocery store like an actual child.

The two of them had been out getting food and drinks for that night and had hardly put more than a thing of frozen pizza in the cart before Dimitri had disappeared on him. Felix swore he'd only turned his back to grab a carton of milk and that had been all his friend needed to slip out of there without being caught. He was still annoyed by the man's (correction, child's) antics. Even now, a good ten or fifteen minutes later, his hands were still clenched into fists and his jaw tight with irritation. When he laid eyes on Dimitri, he was going to make sure his friend knew how annoyed he felt.

Felix was so caught up in his thoughts that he wasn't entirely paying attention to the world around him at the moment. Maybe he should have been, but his feet already knew where to take him. He was headed to the apartment building he called home. It wasn't a far walk, five or ten minutes at best, but he knew the rooftop of that building was Dimitri's favorite place. If he had to guess where that man was in Boston at that time, it would be the rooftop.

But just because he knew his friend so well didn't mean he wasn't about to kill him for being an annoying pain in the ass. Shaking his head to himself, Felix rounded the corner of the street only to come practically face first with the last thing he expected to see: a woman dressed like a hooker punching a man in the face.

"Whoa," Felix chuckled slightly, "what's going on here?"

When the woman went to go in for a second hit on the man who had stumbled back a step from her first punch, Felix knew he had to step in despite neither person having noticed him yet. "Hey," he stated firmly, reaching out to grab the hooker's wrist so he could tug her back a little. "No need to bash his face in, sweetheart." Smirking, Felix let go of her arm and looked away from the man and down to her. She looked to be positively fuming, and he could guess why. "This dude trying to hurt you?"

Felix spared the man a look as he glared at the woman before he turned and walked away altogether, leaving him alone with her. He raised his brow, but said nothing and instead returned his attention to the little bundle of anger standing next to him. He was sure her hand had to hurt from that punch, but he didn't mention it yet. Maybe he'd give her pointers on how to punch better later; for now he just wanted to know what the hell was going on. At this point, all thoughts of Dimitri had momentarily slipped from his mind. Now his attention was on the pretty lady he had just stopped from knocking a guy's brains in.

The rush of the wind had only made Dimitri's heart race faster, the adrenaline that pumped through his veins giving him an all too familiar high. Maybe this really was going to be it. He had nothing to lose so jumping off the side of his favorite spot with a pretty homeless girl sounded like a not so bad way to go. The silence next to him wasn't unwelcoming, it was almost comforting as he stood there next to the brunette. She had no response to his sarcasm so either she was starting to panic or she was about to jump.

Dimitri kept his stance, arms out wide on either side of his body, while her arms fell limp to her sides. He would have lied if he didn't say that there was a drop of disappointment now in the pit of his stomach. The dark haired boy didn't move as he heard the her retreat from the ledge, the soft 'ooph' leaving her lips as she had fallen back.

In reality, he should have been relieved that she didn't go through with it but it was the opposite. He was ready for the end. He had been since he was a little boy in a foster home. The only family he knew was Felix and--Oh fuck, Felix. Dimitri's shoulders dropped, his arms moving back to his sides as he rolled his eyes slightly. Felix would never admit it, but he needed his fucked up side kick even if he didn't actually need him.

The once silent girl was now speaking, his dark eyes quickly turning to capture her own large blue ones. At her comment he couldn't help his mouth twitch up in a smirk, his hands now fighting his pockets to grab out a new cigarette. "That's bold coming from you.", his words were soft yet playful as they left his lips; the long white stick now pressed in between.

Dimitri stepped off of the ledge, shrugging his shoulders from the patchwork jacket he had on. The male leaned down, draping it over the girls shoulders before he moved back to the ledge of the rooftop. He moved his long body down slowly, his bottom now pressed against the ledge he once stood on while his long legs hung off of the side of the building.

"I'm not really anyone."

The wind had picked up slightly, the small hairs on his now bare arms raising as the black tank top he wore clung to his slim frame. "Why were you going to jump?", his head turned so he could get a better look at the girl still sitting in an upright fetal position. "Bad break-up?" His teeth raked up against the cigarette as he grinned, his fingers moving the tube from his lips as he let out a small puff of smoke. "Dimitri." Carefully he turned his body around, feet now planted safely on the concrete of the rooftop. "And what about you?"

The slam of her now raw knuckles of her right hand against the tall man's rather scruffy face really sucked.

Amelia retreated her hand quickly, her teeth now gritting together tightly as she took in a breathe. That definitely hurt more than she had imagined it would have. Movies and reality-shows really made punching a guy in the face look so much easier. The short brunette moved her elbow back, anticipating to give the man another blow to the face but it was quickly put to an end when her arm was grabbed. "What the f--", her words were cut short as she stared up at the man who had stopped her from the second punch.

The feisty girl went quiet, her bright eyes staring deeply at the man who was now smirking and calling her sweetheart. Who in the hell did this pretty boy think he is? Why did any man that she had ever come into contact with automatically assume they were going to be her Prince Charming? Reality Check. She was no god damn Princess and there is no such thing as Prince Charming.

The next few moments had come and go, her bright eyes not moving from her 'savior' even as the other man she had punched in the face scurried off. Like a little bitch. If she wasn't so aggravated with her dumb sister and now stranger danger in front of her; Amelia would be praising herself. A nice bowl of warm tortilla chips with some salsa and a tall glass of whatever was on tap to be exact.

"Let me say this right now." Amelia moved until she was directly in front of the man in front of her. She reached her arms up, both palms now pressed on each of his cheeks. "I am not sleeping with you because you decided to be a hero." Her blue eye's narrowed as her eyebrows just about touched as they furrowed together. Slowly her finger tips raked against his cheeks, her feet planting themselves back onto the cold sidewalk as she straightened the denim crop top over her chest.

"I do not have time for this, or to play up some dramatic fantasy in your tiny brain." With her right hand coming up to her forehead, she pressed her two forefingers out and saluted the male; her other hand lightly tapping the side of his right cheek. "Later, stranger danger." Amelia turned on her heels, her blue eyes staring ahead as she started to walk back down the street before she had been sidetracked.

Was this guy really going to jump? He had just talked her down from it, in his own way, and now he was going to do it? Lily was appalled and quite honestly grew more terrified the longer he stood up on that ledge, arms spread out as if embracing the wind tousling his dark hair. If the situation hadn't been so dark and adrenaline-fueled and life-threatening, it would have been amusing. In fact, if Lily hadn't been feeling so nervous about what this stranger was going to do next, she would have laughed at the irony of it all.

But Lily was definitely anxious and she was sure that leaked into her voice when she did finally speak. Thankfully, the guy was soon dropping his arms back to his sides and stepping down from the ledge. "It's bold of you to talk me down and then almost do it yourself," she countered his words with the tiniest hint of a smirk on her own lips now. She watched as he moved towards her, shrugging out of his jacket and then placing it around her own shoulders instead. Her posture instinctively softened in response, the warmth of his jacket soothing the chill she hadn't even known she'd been feeling. The action had been so unexpected, especially coming from a stranger, but it made her smile to herself all the same.

At least until this dude decided to sit down on the ledge with his legs hanging over the fucking edge. Lily's deep blue eyes widened as she witnessed this, anxiety once again filling her veins. She didn't like this one bit, not anymore. She might have been an inch away from leaping from that ledge herself a minute ago, but things had suddenly changed thanks to this guy. And now he was throwing caution to the wind as if he didn't have a care in the world.

It soon became clear as to why, however, when he began to tell her who he was. Or rather, that he didn't think he was anyone. Lily frowned at that, shifting on the cold pavement to wrap his jacket around herself a little tighter. "Bullshit," she muttered, not believing that for a second. Everyone was someone.

The girl thought about that for a few seconds before overhearing him ask why she had been about to jump. As he suggested a bad breakup, she rolled her eyes before meeting his gaze now that he'd turned his head to look at her. "Not even close. Besides, even if it were, I'm not stupid enough to kill myself over a guy," she smirked at him to match his grin before watching as he finally turned himself around so his feet were planted on the concrete and his back was to the ledge. He still might have been sitting on it, but she felt better knowing he was facing her and not the empty air that filled the space between them and the street below.

"I'm Lily," she said now, her voice quiet as she rolled his own name around in her mind. Dimitri. It was different, but it suited him and she liked it.

Clearing her throat, the dark haired girl eyed him for a moment, studying his features and the cigarette between his lips. She couldn't help wondering why he hadn't been about to hesitate to jump with her back then, despite somewhat talking her down from it even if it hadn't been directly. Though he'd referred to himself as a nobody, and she sort of believed that might be a reason why, she wondered if there was more. So she decided to ask him. "So, why were you about to jump?"

Felix wasn't entirely sure what to expect from this woman after grabbing her elbow. He honestly anticipated a couple of different scenarios playing out. Either she'd punch him next or she'd be thankful that he'd come to her rescue after she'd been struggling to get rid of the man she had punched. Well, maybe she hadn't been struggling that much considering she had managed to punch him and send him scurrying off... The thought made Felix smirk to himself as he gazed down at the dark haired girl now.

But this stranger surprisingly did neither of the two things Felix had thought she might. Instead, she stepped closer and reached up with her hands to place her palms against his cheeks. Felix felt his breath hitch in his throat at the sudden proximity, but he didn't move. In fact, he felt himself slowly leaning into her touch. At least until those words left her mouth.

"Oh honey, I wasn't intending on sleeping with you," the young man chuckled, watching her move away from him. His cheeks honestly felt just the tiniest bit tingly from her touch and his mind was a little slow considering he couldn't stop thinking about how pretty those blue eyes of hers were. Shaking his head to himself, he gave a little laugh and shoved those thoughts far away. When had he become a little sissy? He didn't just sleep with any girl he ran into on the street, but then again, most girls he ran into on the street weren't this pretty or feisty or alluring. And most were actually into him, but not this one. Oh no, she didn't want anything to do with him. Somehow, that made Felix want to change her mind even more.

In seconds, however, this girl was saluting him and turning to walk away altogether. Felix laughed in slight disbelief before stepping after her. "Hey, wait," he called, a slight smirk on his mouth as he lengthened his stride to catch up. "I'm looking for my friend. Have you seen him? Tall-ish, dark haired, looks like an ass?" He asked her, noticing they were headed in his original direction: towards the apartment.

Clearing his throat, Felix ran a large hand through his hair and shrugged his shoulders. "He ran away from me in the grocery store, can you believe it? I'm friends with a fucking child," he muttered, snickering to himself as if he couldn't believe he was still friends with Dimitri after all of this.

The laces on his beat up chucks were just about to unthread, his dark eyes staring intently on the strings. Thank whoever was 'watching' over them that the weather in New England decided to cooperate tonight because it wasn't too humid or too chilly. A perfect night in all honesty.

"Lily."

The girl's name rolled off his tongue whimsically, Dimitri's gaze moving from his shoes to her bright blue orbs. It was almost as if he had never said that specific name out loud before, his mind tucking the four-letters away for safe keeping. If he had remembered correctly; lilies were one of the worlds most beautiful flower however they were the hardest to keep. Oh the irony.

The wind shifted as more comments had come from Lily's mouth, his eyes moving back to the hard concrete of the rooftop as she asked why he was about to jump. "That's a loaded question." Dimitri leaned his left hand down, pressing the end of the cigarette out on the ledge before he tossed it off the side of the building. "Probably the same reason you were." His words came out soft, dark eyes now fixated again on Lily's bright ones. It wasn't like him to be running his mouth to someone he barely knew. No one knew his life, not all of it anyway. Felix knew the majority of it and that was only because the guy had managed to take him off the streets when they were teenagers. Life was different now; Felix couldn't be saving him for much longer.

"Do you live downstairs?" Was it any of his business? Probably not; but they were about to jump off into their sudden deaths together so it wasn't like it wasn't his business? "They're pretty crappy apartments.", the left corner of his lip rose lightly as he shook his head just imagining how pissed Felix must have been when he turned around in the frozen pizza aisle. "I have this issue where I disappear at times." His chest rose, laughter erupting from his lips as he leaned his head back. "I legit just walked out of the pizza aisle on my friend and now I'm here."

The laughter had only sidetracked the lanky male, his body rocking back instinctively and before he composed himself his hands slid off the side of the ledge that he had been sitting on. Thankfully he was tall or he would have been on Main Street for everyone to see by now. Dimitri's chest rose rapidly as he rested the back of his head against the side of the large brick building. Sure, he was hanging half way off the building but he knew he wasn't going to fall.

"Little help?"

His left arm went down, extending to the top of the ledge as the blood started to rush to his head. Even from this angle he still loved the rooftop.

Fuck he caught up quick.

Amelia turned her gaze to the male who had continued after her. This guy obviously didn't understand what a salute meant. The brunette was shorter than she had been, her heels were too far gone at this point to even think about going back to get them. It wasn't a terrible thing though, she was not a heals kind of girl; she preferred being barefoot.

"That sounds like half of the guys in Boston.", her eyebrows rose lightly as he had explained what his missing friend looked like. Half of Boston was dark haired and looked like an ass. They don't call everyone around here Mass-holes for nothing. Her strides stopped as she leaned over, grabbing her knee-high socks off one at a time before dropping them to the ground. The bottoms were wet from god knows what and the worst feeling in the world was wet socks.

"Are you sure you don't mean my ridiculously childish older sister?" If she was still alive and well after this little stunt then Amelia would definitely be hooking her up with this guy's dumb ass friend. They sounded like two peas in a screwed up pod. "Who runs away from someone in a grocery store?" The brunette pondered for a moment, her eyebrows furrowing as she tried to even understand how something like that happened.

Amelia moved in harmony with the taller presence next to her, her blue eyes continuing forward as she caught glimpse of her apartment building. Maybe there was something that Lily had left behind to give away some sort of clue as to where she would be. Lily was funny like that; incredibly smart but leaves track marks. As the two approached the building slightly more there had been hushed voices and then a few shouts. What the heck was going on?

"He's going to fall!"

The frantic woman on the ground looked just like the landlord. Amelia frowned, moving her eyes up to where the woman was screaming at. Her blue eyes traveled up the side of the building to a dark-haired looking ass handing upside down on the rooftop. "So, is that your friend?" Amelia couldn't help the slight smirk turning up the corners of her lips as she cocked her head to look at the brunette beside her.

Lily raised her brows when Dimitri claimed his reasons for jumping to be the same as hers. He didn't even know why she had been about to throw herself off of a ledge, not that she was about to tell him. They'd only just met after all and he was a complete stranger. A psycho one at that, apparently, because he'd been about to jump with her instead of grabbing her off of that ledge.

Now Dimitri was asking if she lived in the apartment building they were on the rooftop of. Lily snapped herself out of her thoughts and refocused on him, a smirk curling over her lips. "Mhm. They're shitty, but I guess they do the trick," she agreed, sighing a little as she thought about the small two bedroom, one bathroom apartment she shared with Amelia. It wasn't extravagant by any means, especially not compared to what they were used to. But she supposed it had everything they needed when it came to the basics and unfortunately it was all they could afford now.

The young woman glanced back up at Dimitri as he began to tell her where he'd been before he'd come up here to the rooftop. His words, combined with his laugh, had her laughing lowly, too, but she wasn't able to respond before he suddenly fell backwards.

Lily let out a gasp and scrambled to her feet in an instant as Dimitri's top half disappeared over the ledge. His legs, thank god, were long enough to keep him from falling, but that didn't stop her heart from racing almost painfully in her chest from the scare he'd given her. "Shit, Dimitri," she breathed out, hurrying forward just as a hand appeared over the ledge and she heard his voice asking for some help.

Dimitri's jacket had fallen to the ground in her haste to get to her feet, leaving her bare arms to feel the chill of the wind as she leaned over the ledge a little bit, just enough to see Dimitri with his back to the side of the building. "You asshole, I thought you were going to fall," she spat at him slightly, her brows furrowed and her jaw clenched. Despite her anger, Lily grabbed onto the man's hand and hurriedly tugged him back over the side of the ledge. She was so anxious, however, that she accidentally used a little too much force and sent them both sprawling to the ground instead.

A low groan escaped Lily's lips at that. "I think we're good," she muttered now, sitting upright and shoving her hair out of her face. She glanced over at Dimitri, who had fallen beside her, and smirked a tiny bit. How ironic that she had come up here to end her life and instead had wound up saving him from falling to his own death.

If this girl had told him to fuck off and leave her alone, Felix wouldn't have been surprised. He sort of was intruding on her space, not that he cared. Of course, if he was told to leave, he would respect that, but until then, who said he couldn't tag along with her and see if she could help him find Dimitri? When she instead chose to answer his question, though, he smirked and let out a low chuckle. "You've got that right," he commented, knowing he, too, fit that description. Tall, dark haired, and an ass? Yep, that was him.

Just then, the girl beside him came to a stop and Felix paused, too, glancing down at her to see her pulling off her knee high socks. It was at that moment that he realized she wasn't wearing any shoes. How had he not noticed that before? His brows furrowed in confusion, but he figured it wasn't really any of his business where her shoes had wound up. Based on the way she was dressed, he could confidently assume she had left them where she had come from.

Soon the two were off again, walking next to each other towards the apartment building. Of course, Felix knew the girl next to him probably wasn't headed there as her final destination, but they could separate when they passed it. Or perhaps she'd like to continue enjoying his company considering he was a rather fun guy to be around, if he said so himself. Besides, based on what she said next, he was beginning to wonder if she was searching for someone herself. Namely her older sister. "Why? You looking for her, too?" Felix asked now, letting out a chuckle as he thought of this girl's sister and his best friend both being stupidly childish. They sounded like soulmates.

"If she's as childish as Dimitri, maybe we should set them up." He smirked at that, just as they rounded the corner and his apartment building came into view. It was then Felix overheard a shout and he frowned deeply, growing serious as he noticed a small crowd of people staring up at the building. He followed their line of sight, only to see a figure hanging over the side of the building on the rooftop. His eyes instantly widened.

"Well fuck," Felix cursed lowly, his jaw clenching and his hands balling into fists at his sides. "I guess I just found the little shit." No sooner had he said the words, though, did a new figure pop over the side of the building and grab Dimitri. In seconds, the two disappeared back over the ledge, causing Felix to breathe a slight sigh of relief. "Any chance that's your childish older sister?"

Amelia had wondered how this moment had even happened.

How had the day turn so quickly? She remembered having a bowl of Lucky Charms with Lily hours ago before she had to go to work. They were laughing over the stupidest thing; Amelia picking out all of the marshmallows and eating them last. How had it taken such a dramatic turn? The male beside her was talking but she couldn't hear what he was saying over the sound of blood rushing in her ear drums.

The pure fact that just a slight glimpse of her sister's head peered over the ledge, just enough time for Amelia to recognize that old Nike shirt she was wearing. Had this guy's friend...Dimitri was it? Had Dimitri talked Amelia into doing such a crappy thing? Why else would the two of them be so conveniently up on a rooftop at the same exact time. Was this also a ruse of said guy to run away from his friend so randomly? Most importantly, why did Lily try and hide her little fling with Mr. Suicidal himself?

The brunette turned her head to the side to get a better look at Felix. "Why are they together?" Amelia felt the anger start to bubble in her chest as she tried to calm the anxiety that threatened to pump through her veins. Without hesitating any further she grabbed ahold of the taller male's hand, tugging him aggressively behind her as she pushed back the crowd of people and into the stairwell of the apartment.

She had managed to pull both herself and the male behind her up the shifty stairs and through the top entrance of the rooftop. As soon as the door slammed open her grip dropped from his hand immediately. "Lily-Rose.", her voice was eerily soft as she slowly started towards the two on the ground. Amelia's gaze focused on the tiny smirk on her sister's face before moving to the soft smile that had been placed on the male's face on the ground.

"Come osi.", the brunette muttered softly as she fell to her now bare knees on the concrete of the rooftop. It had been a bad habit of the hers to speak in Italian whenever she was having a break down. Thanks to four years in an Italian high school. Amelia allowed her lower half to rest on her thighs as she fought back the tears that had started welling up in the corners of her eyes. "Hai man pensato a me?", her voice broke as she stared at her older sister from a few feet away.

Had Lily even thought about what would have happened if she actually done it? What would Amelia have done? Run back to the screwed up family life they had? Continued being a stripper until she earned enough to be able to run away by herself? "You are so selfish!", her words finally reverted back to her first language as she pressed her palms against her now swollen eyes.

Amelia's mood shifted almost immediately when she noticed the eyebrows ruffle on Dimitri's face. "Eri d'accordo?!" The brunette almost tripped over her own feet with how quickly she moved up off the ground. She just about tackled the poor boy on the ground, her knees on top of his stomach as she slammed his wrists down onto the concrete. "Sei tu il problema?"

The adrenaline that had been running its course through him had returned but this time it was heightened. Possibly due to the fact that he could legitimately fall at any second if Lily hadn't jumped up the grab his hand. He hated to admit it but he had low to no coordination.

He couldn't help the wide grin spreading across his face, eyebrows raised lightly as he was pulled forward by the small brunette. He had no time to respond to her as his body went forward quickly, his eyes closing in an attempt to brace the fall onto the hard concrete rooftop. "How nice of you to lay out some pillows to help the fall." Dimitri teased lightly as he rolled onto his back, his dark gaze moving to the bright blue one next to him.

Dimitri watched as Lily pressed her hair out of her face while a soft smile landed on his lips. It was weird. He had the most instinctive urge to just reach out and--SLAM. The door to the rooftop had plunged open causing Dimitri to flinch, his body quickly moving to an upright position as he watched a brunette and...Felix? "Fuck me." The dark haired male sighed, glancing towards Lily for a moment until moving his gaze back to the other girl. He didn't want to assume that they were related but they could have almost been twins.

"Is she--.", his mouth pressed together in a tight line as soon as the girl started speaking in...Italian? What in the hell was going on? Dimitri cleared his throat quietly, unsure as to what he was supposed to do. Sure, Lily was really cool but he didn't do well in awkward situations and that was exactly what he was in the middle of. He shifted his position on the ground, keeping his eyes low so he wouldn't make eye contact with any of the three. He reached to his pockets, cursing in his brain when he felt the now smashed pack of smokes.

"You are so selfish!"

His head snapped up, eyebrows furrowing as he stared at the young girl on her knees besides Felix. And this was his time to exit. Fucking quickly too. His eyebrows stayed furrowed as he straightened his back slightly only to see the little bundle charge towards him. "Wait-no-!" Dimitri groaned as the back of his head hit the concrete now for the second time in the last twenty minutes. His tall frame was pinned down by Lily's friend, sister, bodyguard, whatever. Not only was she holding him down but she was also back to speaking gibberish. Dimitri flinched, his nose scrunching up as he attempted to move his gaze away from the girl screaming in his face.

Despite the darkness that had fallen over Boston, it was easy enough to see who was up there on the ledge of that all too familiar rooftop. Felix had spotted Dimitri's slightly longer hair and lanky frame with ease, and it seemed the girl beside him had recognized the female figure who had leaned over the ledge to grab Dimitri and yank him back over. Honestly, he was grateful she had, otherwise he might have just been about to witness his best friend's death.

Felix was just as confused as his new partner in crime, except for very different reasons. To him, this wasn't Dimitri trying to commit suicide. This was his friend being the dumbass he always was. Dimitri did stupid things and he did things without thinking. This looked to be another one of those 'things', though this time it seemed he had found an accomplice to join in on the fun. It was ridiculous and he was genuinely furious that the man had ditched him in the grocery store for this.

Now he felt eyes on him and when he glanced down, Felix realized the brunette was staring up at him. Her question, however, was only met with a confused look. "I don't fucking know," he replied, having absolutely no clue as to what Dimitri and this girl were doing together. Where had they even found each other? Or did they perhaps already know each other and were fucking around without a care in the world and he'd simply had no idea? Who knew. What Felix did know, though, was that they needed to get up there on that rooftop before anything else happened.

As if reading his mind, his hand was grabbed and he was being dragged into the building. Felix didn't resist, and on their way in, he caught the eye of the landlady, causing him to curse lowly. She had seen everything. She already disliked Dimitri for his antics, so this surely wasn't going to go over well with her...

Felix was a little embarrassed to admit that he was out of breath by the time he and the brunette made it to the top of the stairs. He really needed to do more cardio, apparently. But none of that mattered right now. Thankfully when the two of them burst through the stairwell door and out onto the rooftop, Dimitri and the girl were on the ground and nowhere near the ledge. He breathed a sigh of relief at that, before watching as the brunette left his side and immediately rushed towards who he learned was Lily-Rose. Pausing, he waited a few steps behind, a bit caught off guard as he witnessed her beginning to go off on Lily-Rose in Italian. Was it bad that he found that kind of hot? Maybe. But only because of their current situation, of course.

Truth be told, it was sad to see the way this girl reacted to finding her sister about to end her life. Felix couldn't imagine being in her shoes right now, but in some sense, he was upset about finding Dimitri like this, too. He'd never imagined his friend would do something as insane as this, but he'd been wrong. Unfortunately.

Before Felix could shuffle over to address Dimitri, however, the brunette was leaping to her feet and practically launching herself at the guy, pinning him to the ground on his back. His eyes widened a bit before he let out the slightest of chuckles. This girl really had a thing for assaulting men, didn't she? His friend didn't even try to get her off of him, though, leaving Felix to finally sigh and move forward to grasp the small brunette's waist so he could pull her off of him. "Normally I'd say have at him, but..." He trailed off, releasing the girl once she was on her feet. He frowned when he saw the tears welled up in her eyes, though, his heart dropping in his chest. The poor thing looked as if she might break down any second, but he didn't know what to do about it. They had only just met, how was he supposed to comfort her?

A light laugh escaped Lily's lips when she heard Dimitri's teasing comment, their gazes finding each other now that they were safely on solid ground again. She couldn't help smiling at him softly, her blue eyes taking in his features for the first time since they'd met. How long ago had that been now? Ten minutes? Twenty? She didn't know, but she was glad she'd met him. He was something else, but Lily knew she liked him already.

Before either of them could do or say anything else, however, the stairwell door slammed open, startling Lily and causing her to flinch in surprise. She snapped her gaze over just in time to see her sister and a random guy she had never seen before. Almost instantly, a look came over Amelia's features at the sight of her and she knew she was in deep trouble.

Swallowing hard, all hints of amusement left Lily's expression, her skin paling as she watched Amelia approach, Italian flowing off of her tongue smoothly. It might have sounded nice to anyone else, but to her, it sounded heartbroken. And she knew why. The tears in her sister's eyes only added to the sudden and immense guilt Lily was now feeling. She understood the Italian, even if she couldn't speak it very well herself, and it made her hang her head, even before Amelia switched back to English and called her selfish. She was selfish. Lily knew she was, but somehow it felt worse hearing it from the one person she loved.

"I'm sorry, Am," the older girl whispered now, her eyes slowly lifting to find her sister's again, but Amelia wasn't crouched near her anymore. No, she was in the midst of throwing herself onto Dimitri, pinning the poor guy to the ground. Her eyes widened at that, and she turned from where she sat on the ground to see that Dimitri wasn't even fighting her. He just looked like he was hoping Amelia would stop yelling at him.

Lily didn't have a chance to call for her sister to get off of Dimitri before the stranger she had noticed earlier was taking matters into his own hands and lifting Amelia off of the young man as if she weighed nothing more than a feather. She frowned, momentarily wondering who this guy was and how he knew Amelia, but she didn't comment on it. Besides, even if she could have, the stairwell door was opening once more. And when Lily glanced over, she realized with dread that it was the landlady.

"What in the world is going on here?"

The sound of the woman's voice, her tone furious, made Lily cringe, her guilt magnifying as she realized they were about to get in trouble and it was going to be all her fault. Swallowing thickly, she glanced over to her sister, at a loss for words and completely unsure of her ability to not make things a thousand times worse than they already were. She knew Amelia would kill her with her own bare hands at that point, so it was best to just let her younger sister handle things. It was a little fucked up that their dynamic was like that, but it'd been that way for years. Lily was a fuck up and Amelia often had to help clean up her messes.

Amelia couldn't hear the words coming from her new found friend as he had managed to grip onto her waist and pull her up off of Dimitri. She was too upset to even try and focus on anything but her own racing heartbeat and throbbing head. Her blue eyes held her sisters as she was placed back on the ground while her lips pressed together in a firm line.

Lily had always managed to do something to get into a bad situation but this had to be the worst she had done. "I'm sorry for attacking you.", she mumbled softly towards Dimitri who was still flat on his back on the rooftop. There was a soft chuckle that had left his lips which caused Amelia's lips to pull up slightly. The brunette turned her gaze up to the stranger she had been running around with, "Sorry for--"

"What in the world is going on here? "

Words cut short, Amelia turned her shoulders until she was met with a rather angry older woman. Crap. That said lady happened to be the one renting out the crappy apartments. This was going to be once again her problem to fix. Lily never thought about the consequences whenever she decided to pull a stunt. Why would she when Amelia would be tracking behind her cleaning up the mess. "Do any of you have any idea what you have done? " The lady's tone was harsh as she moved in closer to the group, her hands in the air as she talked.

"Ma'am, I am so--" " I do not want to hear it. "

Closing her mouth quickly, Amelia stared at the woman who was now angrily thrusting her pointer finger in Dimitri's direction. " You have been nothing but trouble since you've come here. I want all of you out of my building. You have an hour to get your belongings. " Amelia's eyebrows pressed together as she moved her gaze over to Dimitri's almost defeated one. Was this kid trouble and now thanks to Lily's little charade with him they were going to pay for it too? Sure, Lily had managed to tick off the land lady a few times but it wasn't anything major.

"Whatever, we are not paying this months rent." Amelia stood her ground, her arms crossing her chest in an attempt to show dominance. "Make it a half an hour now. " Without another word the woman stormed back to the open rooftop entrance, slamming the door behind her as she disappeared down the stairwell.

It was as if trouble followed him.

Dimitri should have received a god damn medal from getting Lily away from the ledge that she was seconds from leaping off of. Instead a miniature version of her was attacking him. Life really was a strange thing. The brunette stared up at the girl, his face paling slightly at the sheer anger that emitted off of the girls body. If he was going to die it was probably going to be from her.

Not only was she mad, but she was mad in Italian. Who the hell was this girl and how was she hanging around with someone as sweet as Lily? That was the real question. His dark gaze moved over to Felix who was now lifting her up and off of him with his al-mighty strength. "Show off.", he couldn't help the grin that managed to sneak up onto his lips as Felix placed the little bundle of anger back onto her feet.

Dimitri pressed his head back down against the cool concrete, letting out a soft breathe as he tried to comprehend what was going on. The dark haired boy let out a soft laugh, his head shaking as he turned his dark gaze over to the brunette who was now apologizing to him for attacking. Well wasn't she a strange girl. He waved it off, leaning up now on his elbow while turning to look at Lily. He wasn't sure what was going on through her head but he could tell that she was battling herself emotionally.

He moved to sit up, his hand extending towards Lily's but was quickly yanked back by the shouts coming from the land lady. Dimitri stayed quiet, his eyes not moving from Amelia's small frame as she tried to apologize to the older woman. Before he knew it the land lady was pointing at him and he immediately felt his heart drop. He fucked up. Again. This time it was worse because it wasn't just his life or Felix's. Not with was Lily's and the angry girl's too.

"I.."

Words wanted to come out but they stayed inside his throat, his gaze moving to Amelia who had stared at him for a moment before turning back to the woman. They had to get out in an hour--no now a half an hour. He knew that if they didn't leave on the dot than the cops were most definitely going to be called. That was a no brainer. He stayed silent until the woman had slammed the rooftop door once again leaving the four in the darkness. "I have a van...It's not much and I don't have my license but it's something."

Felix was honestly prepared for the brunette to lose her shit on him next, but she didn't. In fact, pulling her off of Dimitri seemed to bring her back to reality and break the angry haze that had taken over her. When she apologized to his friend, he couldn't help chuckling softly, his hands now back in his pockets. He'd heard Dimitri's comment about him showing off, too, and his smirk still lingered on his lips as he glanced down at the man who was now waving away the brunette's apologies with a low laugh.

It was at that moment the landlady decided to make her appearance and Felix turned on his heel to see her stomping out onto the rooftop, looking as if steam was about to blow from her ears. She was furious. He swallowed hard, hearing the brunette beside him trying to apologize for what had happened, but this lady was having none of it. As she continued to grow angrier, he shared a look with the girl beside him before returning his uneasy gaze to her.

Then came the real kicker, as she proceeded to tell them she was throwing them out of the apartments for good. Felix's eyes widened when she told them they had an hour to get their things, his mind so shocked it hadn't even processed the fact that the two girls must have lived in that apartment, too. Instead, all he could focus on was the fact that they were being kicked out of their home. And they now only had half an hour to do that, thanks to the brunette beside him claiming they weren't going to bother paying that month's rent anymore. For a second, he was staring down at her wide eyed, and by the time he came back to reality from his shock, the landlady was gone, the door slamming shut behind her.

"Well shit," Felix said lowly, his mind finally catching up to speed as he looked between the three others, seeing they were equally shocked. But he wasn't just that; he was angry, too. This was all Dimitri's fault, and the other girl's, for pulling such a stunt on the rooftop in the first place. He wanted to get mad at them both, but he knew better in that moment. They not only didn't have the time to start arguing, both Dimitri and the brunette's sister looked guilty enough for now.

When Dimitri offered up his van, though, Felix scoffed. "We all have cars, dipshit," he muttered before glancing to the two girls and backtracking a little when he realized he actually had no idea if they did or not. "At least I do," he added, his dark brows furrowing before he shook his head and ran his fingers through his hair. He was positively stressed now.

"Whatever, let's just start packing. We have half an hour and we're going to need every minute of it if we want to get out of here before the cops are called," Felix sighed, trying to rein in his anger. Then he looked down at the brunette beside him, his hands falling back to his sides. "I assume you two live here, too, huh?" He asked her, figuring based on her reaction and the fact that she'd told the landlady she wasn't paying that month's rent that they did live here. He felt bad, but at least it made it easier for them to pack up and leave together.

Lily was silent as the landlady went off on them, cutting Amelia off when the girl tried to apologize. This was not good, not at all. She was obviously furious with them, not to mention she seemed to recognize her and Dimitri, and Lily had a feeling that was because she knew they were troublemakers. Apparently Dimitri had had his own run ins with her in the past, too. Swallowing hard, she remained where she sat on the ground, trying not to draw attention to herself in case she made things worse.

But there was no making things worse, because they'd already hit rock bottom. When the landlady told them they had an hour to pack their things and leave, Lily's eyes blew wide with shock. They were being kicked out... And then that hour was cut in half as Amelia grumbled a retort about not paying the month's rent in retaliation. She groaned quietly to herself at that, but the sound of the rooftop door slamming shut drowned it out. After that, the four were left in complete silence within the darkness of the rooftop, all of them undoubtedly shocked by the turn of events.

The silence was broken a moment or two later when the strange guy Amelia had shown up with cursed quietly before Dimitri spoke up to offer up his van. Lily looked at him curiously, but her attention was soon drawn back to the stranger when he swore at Dimitri. She frowned at that, but let it go when he sighed and corrected himself. "We don't have a car," she confessed, realizing she and Amelia would be no help there. But at least Dimitri and this guy each had a car, right?

As they were now encouraged to get moving so they could pack, Lily quietly pushed herself to her feet, realizing now that Dimitri's jacket was still on the ground nearby. Neither had grabbed it before Amelia and this guy had shown up. She pressed her lips into a thin line as she bent down to grab it before turning to hand it to the young man himself. "Here," she said quietly, just as the other guy asked Amelia if they also lived in the apartments. "Yeah, we do," she answered for her sibling, moving away from Dimitri now to grab her sister's hand to tug her off to the rooftop door.

"I'm so sorry, Amelia," Lily breathed out, reaching out to grab the door with shaky hands now that she had let go of Amelia's. She pulled it open, allowing her sister to step through while she waited for the guys to follow. "I promise I'll fix this, okay? I promise," she added, her eyes finding her sister's as she hoped she wouldn't be too angry. But of course she would be, she had just made them homeless for crying out loud. Who wouldn't be angry?

Sniffling slightly, Lily waited until Dimitri had grabbed the door from her before turning and beginning to head down the stairs after Amelia to their floor. She didn't know which floor these guys lived on, but she didn't care to ask right then. She was too drawn up in her thoughts about everything that had just happened and how it was all her fault. She was going to have to fix this somehow and soon, she knew that. It was the least her sister deserved after everything.

Now what were they supposed to do? There was a .01% chance that their parents would allow them back into the wealthy home. Well, that chance was more for Lily than Amelia. The brunette was positive that if she had left her sister right then and there and walked back into the Pommero mansion she would be fine. But no. She would never leave her sister, no matter how selfish the other was.

Amelia's lips pressed together in a tight line as she listened to the three others talk. She was positive that the guy she had been running around town with was speaking to her but she couldn't put the words together. The feeling of Lily's chilled hand taking her own pushed the thoughts aside, Amelia's blue eyes moving in her sisters direction for a moment before moving back to the stairwell door.

This was exactly what Lily did. She did something stupid, got caught, and tried to apologize and say she would make it better. However, nothing ever got better. Amelia kept her remarks to herself as Lily apologized, stating that she would make it all better. But how? How could Lily make this better? She couldn't and honestly Amelia didn't want to hear any more of her intuitions.

"Not this time Lily."

The words left Amelia's mouth quicker than she had thought. It was only the truth though, there was no recovering from this. Whatever money they had had left had gone to the first last and security on the apartment. Amelia barely made enough to cover the rent and the food. There was no way they could afford a new apartment and after this little charade anyone who rented in the area would never allow them to be tenants. Hell, no one in their right state of mind would have allowed them within ten feet of them.

The brunette didn't bother waiting for the others, she moved quickly past Dimitri and hurried down the stairs. She needed to pack up what she had left in life. Thankfully when they had left the mansion they only grabbed what they could so it wasn't going to be too much to grab. Amelia shoved the key into the door, leaving it wide open as she started grabbing all she her arms could hold. Quickly her two luggage rollers were filled with clothes and miscellaneous objects that she had. The brunette left the rollers at the door, hurrying into the bathroom to change into something less revealing.
