With the two volunteers off to the store, their driver here passed out on the couch, Zem probably going back to work, Tyler busy with bags and Micah...oh goodness how old was that candy... Mari felt it was as good time as any to get her room sorted out as well as grabbing a change of clothes. Something a bit more comfortable to wear when she would be cooking probably. Getting off the chair she had sat on in the corner of the room she stopped at Micah and his stale candies and opened her bag, taking the candy she had packed for the drive there but never got around to eating them. At least it was fresh if he really wanted a sugar rush before Cam and Caydon came back from the store. She had more stashed in her luggage anyway so with a wordless smile she just left the bag on the coffee table for him (or whoever wanted them really) before heading off to drag her luggage into her room.

She obviously hadn't forgotten the layout of the place all these years as she had no trouble remembering which room she had previously claimed. Might as well claim it again. She closed out the room door before Hoisting the case onto the bed she opened it up to search for a new outfit. Grabbing one and quickly changing she took a brief glance at herself in the mirror with a light sigh as she tied her hair up with a ribbon. She had lost a bit of weight again it seemed nothing drastic really... though her therapist would probably be disappointed... but these past 2 weeks had been stressful, bad habits were let slip. Maybe the vacation would help out? Hopefully. She promised herself shed give eating dinner a try one they got some ingredients back.

...3 hours had passed since Cam and Caydon had left to the store and still no sign of them. While she did recall Cam saying the store was 30 minutes away it still seemed awful long to be out. At this point she had moved to one of the windows facing the front of the cabin. Taking a seat on the edge of the sill she was glancing out of it half to watch for the two coming back and half to just admire the scenery. It was just as nice as she remembered it and being so far away from everything else she could bet that it was a good spot to do some good star gazing. Maybe she could sneak out a night or two. She had forgot to check before her phone signal seemed to fail her but she hoped there would be something cool to see.

To say their trip to the store hadn't been a disaster waiting to happen would be a lie. Cameron had sensed some foreboding feeling as she and Caydon settled in the van to head to the store, but she'd chalked it up to old nerves as he started the engine and they set off. The ride to the store had been filled with silence between them and a static-y radio that Cam quickly gave up hope on. Once in the store, they'd shopped for a good 30 minutes or so before calling it quits, and heading to check out.

It was on the way back to the lodge where shit hit the fan. Cam had been engrossed in her phone, utilizing the little bit of service she had to check some social media when the van started making funny noises. Caydon had assured her nothing was wrong, but oh how wrong he was. A good distance still from the lodge, the van lurched to a stop, throwing both of them forward. "What the hell was that?" She'd asked, but Caydon was already getting out to investigate.

Despite the cold, she followed him, coming around to the front just as he propped the hood open. "What's going on?" Shivering, she took his phone as he handed it to her, glancing down at the device as he instructed her to call a tow truck. "Okay." Before she could even make the call, though, another one had come through. She answered it and placed it on speaker, holding it closer to him so he could talk.

When he'd snatched the phone out of her hands, she'd thought that she'd done something wrong. Did they just say gang...? The ensuing conversation between Caydon and the person he'd taken off of speaker phone didn't give anything away, but when he handed her the phone back she was hesitant. Still, she called the tow truck and they waited, Caydon tinkering under the hood almost the whole time.

Cam fiddled with his phone until handing it back once the tow truck arrived. It took them back to the lodge, where Cameron grabbed the majority of the bags. Thanking the driver, she headed for the door, managing to twist the knob and get into it without help. "Hi guys!" She greeted cheerfully, lugging the bags over to the counter. "We're back!"

"And so the cycle continues..."

location: Cabin

Leonard promptly passed out before the two could even leave to go to a store once he had managed to get his piece out. It wasn't like the house would collapse on itself just because he was asleep. Surely, the others would be able to keep everything in order. They were all adults now, way different from when they were in highschool where they had to be reined in by Anna. Then again, it wasn't like Leonard was dead asleep back then when they arrived. Things do change after all.

If you would ask him what happened in the three hour span, Leonard would have absolutely no idea what to tell you. The only thing he can answer is that it was probably the best sleep he'd had for the past month or two. An hour after he passed out on the couch, he had stood up and headed over to his old room - his body automatically finding it even if his brain wasn't processing much of anything that was happening. After shedding his jacket, he collapsed onto the bed and just continued his sleep without much of a care of what anyone else was doing.

When he woke up, he immediately grabbed his phone and was relieved to see no new messages or notifications. The weak signal up at the cottage probably helped with that. He had half a mind to just turn it off and lock it in his bag for the remainder of the trip so he can feel this peace indefinitely - but he knew that his anxiousness would just eat up at him. He looked at the time and tried to remember what time they had arrived. It would have been around... three hours since they had come. Surely that means the duo had returned and they would have started with dinner, right?

He grabbed his jacket and put it on again, rubbing his eyes and letting out a grumble. He didn't feel as groggy as before, but he couldn't wait to relax even more. Sleep even more. Maybe he really did need a vacation. It hadn't even been a day and he was already able to achieve something he couldn't grab for most of his adult life. He silently made his way around the cabin, having been too used to keeping himself muffled so he wouldn't disturb Alana's sleep whenever he went around the house in some godforsaken hour of the morning.

The first thing he noted was that there was a lack of noise coming from the kitchen area. Taking a peek there revealed that Cameron and Caydon hadn't returned yet. He was pretty sure the drive out to the store wasn't far, but maybe they were just taking their time. Who knows how much the two needed to have some talks. With nothing better to do, he made his way to the couch he had previously occupied and simply sat there, forcing his body to relax. To go into vacation mode. His thoughts went to wondering where the others were, likely in their rooms catching up? He was pretty sure Alana would be with Tyler. The two had always gotten on well, for better or for worse. He couldn't blame them for wanting to talk after all these years.

Before he could analyze further as to where anyone else would be, Cameron and Caydon had come back. Leonard quickly made his way towards them, noting for a moment that there was an unfamiliar tow truck outside that had driven off. "Welcome back." He greeted and would have offered help but Cameron seemed to have it all handled. "I'd say I hope you didn't run into trouble while outside but that doesn't seem to be the case..."

If they were going to be here a while then she might as well get comfortable. Plus she wanted to change into some warm pajamas since it was just friends. Right when she finished Tyler had peeked back in and motioned for her to follow him which she already knew meant he brought along the party favors. She hadn't smoked in weeks due to hiding it out of fear Leo's parents would find out and flip.

She wasn't exactly the goody-two-shoes, prim and proper daughter in law they thought she was. It was just a part she played, more so for his sake than theirs. After all, that's the kind of girl he was supposed to marry. Right? Not the sometimes unruly girl with an open mind and way adventurous personality. She sometimes wondered how he ended up with her and not someone like...her sister. Zem definitely seemed more his speed if you asked her.

Here Alana was, three hours after everyone had gone off to do who knows what whole Cam and Caydon were at the store, high as a kite. She laid back on the cold roof and looked up to the sky, watching as her breath became visible when it hit the cold air. "Oh, Zem is gonna be pissed. Are my eyes red?" she asked, a giggle escaping her lips. It was a stupid question really since her eyes always got red after smoking. She didn't know why and it was quite annoying but oh well. She was grown now. Not some kid hiding it from her parents. Zem wasn't her mother.

"I'm glad you came, Ty. And not just because you brought the good stuff," she said with a smile. Straightening up a little, Alana tightened the grey, fluffy robe she'd draped over her pajamas. The trapped some of the warmed air in so she wouldn't become a human popsicle. She sat up and looked out at the snow-filled area below them and smiling. It brought back so many memories, some bad but mostly good. "Remember when we had a snowball fight out here?" she asked with a laugh.

It would seem Cameron and Caydon had been voluntold to go to the store together. Tyler couldn't help but grin at the pair, even if they weren't looking his way. It was obvious the pair had a thing for each other, had even back in high school. Not understand the dilemma, he made a mental note later to ask Caydon what the hell the holdup was. Snickering as Cam said she couldn't drive in the snow, Ty grabbed the bags he thought were hers and held them up.

"These yours, Cam?" When she nodded confirmation, his eyes flicked towards Caydon and his grin grew. "I'll take 'em to your old room." Whistling a jaunty tune, he turned, both his steps and whistling stopping when he saw Micah munching on Jolly Ranchers. "Micah." He started, quirking a brow in his direction.

"Nevermind." Shaking his head, he just glanced over at Alana when she mentioned sleeping beauty's bags. "Why, of course." He slung Leo's bags over where Cam's were, and started after the blonde. "I am all for ham and cheese." He smiled at Mari, appreciating how nice she (and most of the others) were being. He didn't think he was a super huge asshole back then, but he hadn't always been the nicest guy.

---

Three hours later, Tyler had dropped off the bags in the right places-- he hoped-- and was sitting on the roof with the girl who'd been like a sister to him for years. He'd been out here by himself at first, but truthfully, it was lonely. So he'd climbed back in his window and went to find Alana, pssting at her from her doorway and motioning outside.

She followed without hesitation, and soon enough they were both lit on the roof. "Are your eyes red?" Tyler echoed the question as though he hadn't heard her. "I dunno, probably. Lookie over here." He leaned closer, then grinned. "Yup. Tomato red." Laughing, he leaned back and placed his hands behind his head. "She'll be fiiiiiiine." Though they both knew she'd be pissed once she found out Ty was still a bad influence.

"I'm glad I came, too." He told her sincerely, looking over at her. "Of course I remember. You losing, of course." Smirking, he threw some soft snow at her. Glancing down at the ground, he spotted the tow truck. "Uh oh. Something went wrong."

ZEMORA SHELBIA
T.....H.....E..........N.....E.....R.....D

In the hours that had passed, Zemora had deigned the idea of unpacking her luggage, instead resuming the paperwork she'd left incomplete upon their arrival to the ski lodge. Truth be told, she despised the prospect of completing work on a supposed vacation, but her position called for tedious tasks that stole her time away from reconnecting with her friends.

Despite her stoic demeanor and clipped tone when she spoke with anyone, there was a deep feeling of selflessness that she harbored for her friends, who had shaped her high school years more than she'd ever admit.

Her current focus was centered on arranging a shift schedule for the secretaries that fell beneath her in superiority. Nobody could do what Zemora could, and with her absence, only she could determine who was efficient enough to temporarily acquire her role. Unfortunately, not many of her colleagues proved worthy of the position, so she devised a turntable that would require each secretary to take turns working alongside the ambassador. The process hadn't been anywhere close to smooth; every decision she made and informed her colleagues of was awarded with a series of phone calls that forced her to slam the door close of her assigned bedroom in the cabin, a colorful string of words flying out of her mouth so that she could enforce the importance of her decisions.

Quite frankly, she was exhausted.

So, when the crunch of tires on snow sounded outside, alarming everyone that Cameron and Caydon had returned from the grocery store, she set aside her paperwork, shoved her phone into the pocket of her coat, and left the solace of her room to snag the coffee before anyone else could get their grubby hands on it — even Leo.

Her heeled boots clicked as she took each step down the stairs. She regarded Mari, seated by the window, with a seemingly blank stare once her feet landed on the final step. However, a glint of amusement shone in the lighter hues of her eyes; despite the heavy amount of snow lining the routes to the nearest grocery store, three hours was far too much time for anyone to buy necessities to last a few days. After all, they could always return for another trip. So how was it that Cameron and Caydon took so long to return to the ski lodge? The entire situation was laughable to Zemora, although she didn't entertain so much as a bark of laughter.

Upon entering the kitchen, she was met with a surplus of plastic bags holding enough food and drinks to last them all for a month. She stepped around Leo from where he stood at the entrance, her gaze raking each bag in search of anything similar to coffee. For a moment, Zemora wondered if her assumptions had been wrong, and it genuinely took the two that long to go shopping, what with the number of bags they'd arrived with.

Until she took a glance out the window and caught sight of a tow truck replacing the van.

"Did you hijack someone's truck?" the girl deadpanned when she turned towards the two, assessing their features for any trace of guilt. The last thing she wanted to deal with was a warrant for their arrest, and she most certainly wouldn't be paying for the bail.
when will you be back at the office?

Caydon was just done with life at this point. The whole trip to the store had been filled with silence and radio which didn't even work all the way up in the mountains. He kept glancing at Cam, trying to see if he should say anything and she was looking away the entire time. What was the hell was he supposed to say anyway? It wasn't like he planned on seeing her ever again, maybe totally wasted at her future wedding since if Anna was alive she would have dragged him there to support their friend. He wasn't expecting to be here..without Anna to keep him together. As they shopped in the store, he just watched her while looking throughout the store. She grew up from this adorable high school good girl to this beautiful woman. Like he knew that she was beautiful before everything but this just cemented his ideals. She was way out of his league.

Once they paid for everything, they headed back to the cabin. Then...the car broke down. Caydon could have sworn he heard the laughter of Alana. At first it was just a bit of a sound, which Caydon would have looked at back at the lodge when still a good 30 minutes from the cabin. The van stopped and he sighed and got out the car not even seeing that Cameron was trying to talk to him. He went under the hood to see what was wrong. As he looked at the damage, he tossed his phone to Cam who had come next to him as he was working. "Call a tow truck. This piece of shit van isn't going anywhere. The goddamn alternator is shit. " Before she could even call the tow truck, a call came up for him. It was his right-hand man for the gang, Jake who didn't know that he was on speaker as Cameron answered and put it on speaker for him. The first thing the idiot said was

"Hey boss, the gang-"

Caydon snatches the phone from Cam immediately taking it off the speaker. And speaking into the phone. "What the fuck have I told you about talking about that on the phone. Whatever Jake, I will deal with you when I get back. I said we will talk when we get back. Shut up now before your idiotic mouth gets yourself killed. " He mumbles into the phone and shakes his head and then speaks again "Hey I need an alternator for a Ford Van. Model 2010. Yea. What? That long for it to come in. Well fuck. Ok, order it. Talk to you later. " He sighed giving the phone back to Cameron who was hesitant to take it back. He was frustrated with himself, as he didn't mean to snatch it away from her like that. She called the tow truck, and they waited for it as Caydon kept working on the truck. He was trying to see if the only thing that was needed was the alternator which it was. It was surprising.

The tow truck arrived and they drove back to the cabin. Cameron was already out by the time the truck stopped grabbing most of the bags. He sighed as he grabbed what was left. He walked in and then glanced at the Leo who was up and around. It has been about 2 hours since they had left. "Yea the damn van crapped out on us, I figured out the problem but the goddamn issue is that I'm not gonna get the part till at least 2 weeks. There's a fucking backorder. " He said loud enough for the people near him to hear him. He walked into the kitchen where Zem was waiting for him and her first fucking question was if they hijacked a goddamn tow truck.

"The fuck Zemmy? I wouldn't hijack a goddamn tow truck! Who do you think I am? I swear..." He looks at her confused

Micah McKinney
Micah Collage.jpg

It said a lot about Micah that none of his old friends questioned his munching on five-year-old Jolly Ranchers. Mari's only response was to leave a fresher bag of candy on the coffee table. As everyone else dispersed to put their bags away, Micah casually stretched his arms and snatched the bag of goodies. He might as well go with the flow, so he took his own bags to his old room. After a quick inspection of the place, he was able to ascertain that he had indeed left a candy stash behind the nightstand. At this point, he wasn't bouncing off the walls, but he was starting to get full from the stashes of the stale stuff and what Mari had left.

Now. What to do with his time?

After rummaging through his bags, Micah found a book that his uncle had lent him. He'd simply said, "Apparently this is at least five percent of the reason your aunt loves me." Curious, he'd taken the book, but he'd only just reached the part where the main character met the character with the same name as his uncle, Zeke. Maybe he could read that.

~ 3 hours later ~

So apparently Micah had gotten sucked into the book (DAMN YOU, JULIE KAGAWA). By the time he looked up, three hours had passed, and he'd changed into pajamas so he wouldn't have to wander around in the boots Annabelle had insisted he bring. Cat Noir socks were cooler, anyway.

Hearing Cam and Caydon finally come back, he put the book down--I'll be back for you, Allie, my love--and went to the kitchen. "I assume your quest was at least mildly successful?" he commented with a smile, peering into the bags they'd brought back. "I could definitely pull off a fancy grilled cheese with this." Even though he was currently without a shirt and probably shouldn't be cooking anything remotely grilled with so much skin showing, Micah immediately grabbed some butter, flour, and milk and a bowl and got to work. He smirked a bit at Zemora thinking that Caydon and Cam had hijacked the tow truck and listened as Caydon explained how the van broke down.

The only ones absent were Tyler and Alana, but Micah had a sneaking suspicion he knew where they were. If anything, he was just offended that he wasn't invited. Although he'd never actually used drugs, he'd occasionally wondered what would happen to him if he did, considering his narcolepsy. His mother had been addicted to narcotics because they kept her awake--would the same happen to him? Hm.

He'd been so focused on making the fancy sandwiches (if there was one thing he went back to France so often for, it was the croque monsieur), that he realized he'd forgotten the most important question. Putting the bowl down and walking over to Caydon, he put his hands on his friend's shoulders. "Did you. Or did you not. Get. Candy?"

Of course Cameron wasn't blind, she knew how much time had passed since they'd been gone. But it wasn't like anything had happened, not really, beyond the van breaking down. A twinge of sadness coursed through her at that thought. Perhaps something could have or should have happened. After all, it'd been three hours. But neither of them had made a move, definitely not on Cam's part. A thought struck her then and her eyes flicked to Caydon as he entered.

What if he wasn't into her like that?

Feeling suddenly depressed and stupid, she headed for the counter to set the bags down. She tore her gaze away from Caydon and towards Leo. "Just a little bit..." She grinned sheepishly. "The van broke down." Her gaze shifted again as Zemora descended the stiars and came to stand in the doorway to the kitchen. Was she surprised at the amount of bags? Cam would have tried to tease her, but then Zem caught sight of the tow truck.

"Did you hijack someone's truck?"

Despite herself and the seriousness of the question, Cam burst into laughter. Serious laughter, where she had to hold the counter to keep from falling over. Her giggles finally subsided, just as Caydon asked her who she thought he was. "A gangster, obviously." She might have been partially teasing him based off of what she'd heard his friend say on the phone. She just didn't realize how close she was to the truth.

Micah started to cook, then seemed to remember his candy. Cam dug around until she found the two large bags of assorted goodies, plopping them on the counter next to them. "Of course we got it." Stepping back, she looked around. "I'll be back. I wanna change." And with that, she slipped from the kitchen and upstairs to the room that used to be hers.

"Only because this house is full of cheaters and I was drunk! You know how I get with tequila," she joked as the tow truck pulled up. "I guess so. Let's go find out what happens...and get snacks," she grinned, another dead giveaway on her being high. She probably reeked of marijuana too but whatever. She motioned for him to follow as she climbed back into the house through the open window. Throwing the sweater on the bed before going downstairs where the others were. She could hear the chatter about a tow truck being hijacked and something else but her mind darted elsewhere at the mention of candy.

"Oooh, yummy!" she said, grabbing one of the bags that Cam had clearly brought for Micah. "May I? Pleassssse?" she said, batting her big, slightly red eyes at him. She didn't wait too long for an answer, opening the bag and digging out a few pieces then handing it back. "So what is this about Caydon being in a gang?" she asked, laughing. She didn't know the truth behind it or that she had walked in at a semi-awkward moment but she noticed the exchange of glances being made. When Cam announced that she was going to change Alana thought it was the perfect opportunity to slip out before Zem could comment on her current state of soberness...or lack of. "Yeah, I'm gonna find my house shoes. My feet are cold from being outside in these socks," she said casually.

Once she was in her room, she looked around and wondered out loud where she'd packed her slippers before noticing the bag by the door. "Bingo!" she said happily as she picked it up and set it on the bed. It wasn't her bag but it was similar enough for her to believe it was. That changed the second the opened it to reveal lingerie and six-inch, platform heels. "What the..." she muttered, carrying the bag out of the room with her. "Hey...who's bag is this?" she asked loudly, holding the duffle in one hand and yanking a piece of lingerie from it with the other, causing one of the shoes to tumble out and onto the floor. If she had been sober she probably would've been more discreet about the question but well, she wasn't.

Tyler truthfully didn't think he wanted to go back inside. He didn't need the judging, mostly, or the argument that was inevitable. Frowning as Alana started inside, he sighed and followed her. Besides, he was all for snacks. Just the thought of something to munch on made his earlier thoughts disappear, and a grin formed on his face.

Just to show off, he slid down the banister heading downstairs, hopping off the end and practically rolling into the kitchen doorway. "Why did I used to do that?" He asked as he caught himself with his hands on the doorframe, looking around at the others. His grin grew again, and he straightened. "What's going on?" Alana had grabbed a candy bag, and asked about Caydon being in a gang.

He quirked a brow in Caydon's direction, but quickly grew distracted by the candy. That is, until Alana reappeared, demanding to know whose bag she was holding. "Yours?" Tyler shrugged around a mouthful of snickers. He stopped dead chewing when the stripper shoe fell out of the bag. Staring at it, he finally looked up and noticed the lingerie.

"Holy shit! Naughty schoolgirl!" Tyler was up from his seat in an instant, taking the lingerie from Alana to inspect. "Niiiiiiice." Looking at Alana, he was quick to add, "It's not mine, though. Hand to god."

Micah McKinney

Micah's intimidation tactics were rusty, he had to admit. He hadn't truly used them since he'd talked his cousin into going on a double date with him and Rafa (it helped that he already liked Rafa's older sister), but STILL! YOU DIDN'T MESS WITH HIS CANDY! Well, actually, you didn't mess with his mama, but... Anyway.

Cam dug a bag of candy out of one of the bags, and Micah immediately gravitated toward it, forgetting his abandoned mixture for the intended croque monsieurs for at least a few more seconds. But before he could lay waste to the sweets inside, Alana joined them, grabbing the bag in question. He pouted at her as she batted her eyes, which made him pause in a way that was very similar to any anime he'd ever seen. The moment she set the bag down again, he shook himself, having forgotten what he was doing prior to pondering Alana's batting eyelashes and their direction at him. He drifted back toward his mixture and started up again, thoroughly confused.

His mind came back to him (not that he'd exactly had one) when Alana came back with someone else's bag in her hands. She took out an article of lingerie from it, and he suddenly felt intensely confused. Tyler, who had also finally joined the group, seemed amused by all of this, at least until a shoe clattered to the floor. Micah's confusion intensified.

Putting his mixing bowl down again, he went over to Alana and stared at the bag and its contents. "I don't remember packing this... maybe it was Rafa?" He frowned, picking up the shoe in question. "I wonder if I accidentally ended up with someone else's stuff at the end of a night." Shrugging, he went back to his mixing. "Sorry about that. I think that's mine. Rafa's way of messing with me, even though she knows I'm not ashamed of it. My dad did it for a while, after all."

Of course, he had no way of knowing that for once, it wasn't him.

Caydon froze at the mention of being a gangster by Cameron. He looked at Zem who was already looking at him, with a quizzical look. Asking him through body language does she knows the secret. He shook his head softly but sighed to himself. How long was he going to keep this secret from his friends? Zem found out because she was in his life, and he couldn't hide it from her. He had to tell her, to get this feeling of being a leader of a gang and all the pressure off of his chest. He wanted her to tell him that he was still the same stupid ass shit that she cared about regretfully and she did exactly that. So why was it so hard to tell the others about it? Why was it so hard to tell Cameron?

Everybody started to walk in and eventually the conversation was lost but he still was frozen. Alana grabbed a candy and asked about him being in a hang and then Tyler came in and looked at him quirking up an eyebrow. He sighed and just walked away. Not answering their question. Caydon didn't want to lie, but he didn't want to have his secret come out as well. He wanted to be their fuck up that they all knew not, someone that they didn't know like him as a gang leader. He headed outside and just stayed there for a moment. Then Alana called everyone with a question with a piece of underwear, he waited for someone to speak up but he was not expecting anything to come out of Micah's mouth.

He just stared at Micah's as he went back to cooking. "Wait...what?"

Still watching out the window she could hear the noise of a car engine faintly, assuming that it would for sure be the van but her brows furrowed a bit upon spotting a truck instead...She would have assumed that someone unexpected had arrived if she hadn't quickly spotted that the van was being towed behind. She squinted her eyes a little as she watched the truck. Did they crash? She hoped not. Well, judging by the two now making their way to the cabin they at least looked okay. Maybe it was just normal car trouble. The van wasn't new and it did just run non stop to get them to the cabin after all.

She hopped off the window sill she was sitting one once Caydon and Cam were reaching the door. "Welcome back!" She called making her way into the kitchen as Cam left the groceries on the counter, spotting that Zem and Micah had beaten her to the kitchen. While Zem was joking about hijacking the truck Mari also had turned her attention to the grocery bags that Micah was already peeking through. She had offered to help out after all. Maybe she could whip up a nice salad to go along with the grilled cheese? Would depend what was brought back from the store of course. She had pulled one of the kitchen stools towards the counter , kneeling on it to peeking into one of the bags before starting to slowly pull out the groceries to put away. She had been busying herself with the task before picking up the real reason the van was towed... 2 weeks? Her gaze shifted up to the group as she left down on of the small bags of salad leaves on the counter. That was no big deal...right? They could all still get home in time. She hoped so. She had only booked a dog sitter until the last day of the trip and she doubted they'd want to keep her dogs for much longer than that. No need to worry about that for now. Nope. She'd focus on the now and try to relax. With that she turned back to putting away the groceries that they wouldn't need right away.

Turning to grab the next item to put away she had just caught Alana grabbing for one of Micah's candy bags with eyes which were still noticeably red. The reason why wasn't a mystery to Mari, she had spotted Tyler and Alana on the roof already from the window in her room. She knew what they were up to but she didn't comment on it, it was none of her business and they were grown adults after all. After Alana charmed her way into snagging the bag of candy she made her way out of the kitchen again Tyler had arrived moments after, looking as though he would have rushed right into the doorframe if he hadn't managed to catch himself at the last second after sliding down the banister, the action pulled a light laugh from Mari, now watching as he too snatched a bag of candy from the stash. Micah's supply wasn't going to last long at this rate it seemed.

Just as she turned back to putting away the last few items and making a start on helping to cook her attention was again pulled but this time by Alana holding out some...questionable attire asking who the owner was. With her hand moving to place just under her chin, her gaze darted down to the shoe that had bounced along the floor once she had joined the group to view the situation. Well. It definitely wasn't hers that was for sure. She could not imagine being that sure in her body to wear something like that...well ever! Her head immediately tilted when Micah owned up to it possibly being his. At first she didn't fully process what he said and assumed that it literally was his clothes which of course was incredibly confusing and her eyes fluttering in disbelief was definitely communicating that as Micah walked back to the kitchen as if nothing happened. Caydon also seemed to share a somewhat similar confused outlook to Micah's answer. Though she then realised that he meant it was mixed up with someone else's stuff. Where on earth would someone be to get that kind of thing mix- oh... Well then. Her old friends really were living some crazy lives in her absence it seemed. Or at least one was so far.

"I wish I had a reason to wear this but it's not mine," Alana shook her head, another laugh escaping her lips. Her words were obviously directed at the lack of spice in her sex life. Well, more like the lack of sex life since Leo had never really been big on showing interest in being intimate. She loved him of course, but it did put a strain on their relationship on top of many other things. Mostly it just made her feel less attractive than she'd like to admit and kinda made the pressure from his parents for them to have a child even harder. She gave Micah a bewildered look when he walked over and mentioned it possibly being his. What was that supposed to mean? "No offense, Micah, but I don't think this would fit you," she teased him.

Her eyes scanned the room again, landing on a certain red faced girl. At first, she was sure that the high was playing tricks on her. No way was Cameron the owner of such a scandalous outfit. "Goody-two-shoes Cam!? Please tell me this sexy get-up belongs to you," she smirked. She was very hopeful since she had never really seen the girl do anything bad and she'd loved to see her break out of her shell more. She'd always thought that girl could be a lot more fun if she wasn't afraid to put herself out there more and if this was hers then she sure was doing that. "Wait, is it yours? Who are you wearing this for?" she questioned againn.

Leonard idly listened to the happenings of the group as they continued to talk - something about Caydon being in a gang? Though his mind was stuck in the fact that the van did break down and that they were stuck in the cabin for two weeks. That was fine. That was completely fine. As long as he didn't have to make a call to extend - after all, he doubted his father would be very happy about it if he ever does. The drive back would involve having less stops, of course, since he would be pressed for time but it wasn't too bad.

He migrated towards the bags and began to dig through the bags for his coffee that was promised to him. He looked up for a moment when Tyler and Alana came back, narrowing his eyes at the two for a moment before going back to his search for the elusive cans. It wasn't long before he had managed to snatch one up and he stepped off to the side as Alana managed to snatch a bag of candy that was meant for Micah. He couldn't help but let out a chuckle before popping open his can of coffee and slowly began making his way through it.

Leonard decided to make himself useful by at least putting away some of the items that came from the store. Better to have them all stocked somewhere than just leaving them out on the table. Everyone had set off to do their own thing, Cameron to change, Caydon to... somewhere, Alana back to her own room... He gave Marianna and Micah a small nod as they continued to set for their dinner and he began stowing away their supplies in what he remembered to be some of the proper places. He wondered if this would be enough to last the two weeks or if they had to march out somehow to where Caydon and Cameron bought all of this on foot.

His concentration on the groceries were broken when Alana came back down the stairs holding a duffel bag with a question - a lingerie on hand and a shoe falling onto the ground. Leonard wasn't sure whose it was either - definitely wasn't his or Alana's. Micah came up and claimed that it was his and to Leonard, that sounded like it was normal. "Oh, you tried out Uncle Coleson's old job?" He remarked, turning to Micah as he returned to mixing. He really wasn't surprised. The McKinney family was very open about... well, everything. Besides, being a stripper, he heard, was good money. "How was it?" He curiously questioned.

Suddenly, Alana turned to Cameron who was silent and burning. She then questioned if it was Cameron's. The two dots couldn't connect in his brain. Cameron had been very uptight before and he would have never thought she would ever think about being a stripper. It wasn't like she didn't have money either, right? "Come on Alana, let up on the poor girl." Leonard called out as he returned to arranging the groceries.

No.

No, no, no.

Not happening.

One minute, everything had been fine. And then, in just a matter of seconds, everything had gone to hell. She'd gone upstairs to change into something more comfortable, which consisted of a tank top over her sports bra, and a pair of flannel pants. She'd slipped her feet into her slippers and gone downstairs, only to find Alana holding a bag that looked an awful lot like one of Cam's. But that wasn't the only thing. Cam watched with horror as one of her stripper shoes fell to the ground with a clatter. Tyler was on his feet in an instant, snatching the lingerie Alana had pulled from the bag.

Of course Cam recognized the schoolgirl outfit. It was a crowd favorite.

Not the time, Cam! Scolding herself, she opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. She couldn't claim them. Thankfully, Micah stepped up to the plate, but Alana was quick to shut him down. And then... those beautiful cheerleader eyes turned on her... and everything Cam had been trying to hide went up in black smoke.

"I... I..." She didn't know what to say. How could she come clean to her friends that she made the majority of her money stripping?

Leo seemed to notice how much trouble Cam was having, as he instructed Alana to lay off of her. But she couldn't just think that everyone would just forget about the outfit or the shoes, especially considering Tyler was now holding the skirt up to his crotch and sashaying his hips back and forth. "Oh, my god." Stalking forward, she snatched the skirt from his grip, which just caused him to grin. Turning to Alana, Cameron tilted her head back to look up at the girl.

"Yes, they're mine."

Micah wasn't sure why everyone was so confused. Hadn't he told them his father was a former stripper? Or... wait... had that only been Leo? Huh. Well, that explained it. When Alana told him she didn't think the lingerie fit him, he glanced over his shoulder at her, raising an eyebrow. "You'd be surprised what I can fit into when I put my mind to it."

He let that sink in for a moment, because, as he'd very well intended, there were multiple ways that could be construed. Oh, yes. He had learned much from his father.

There were several reasons why Micah was convinced Leo was his true love (besides the fact that they were basically Zuko x Sokka from Avatar). One of them being his complete lack of surprise at his admission of a brief career. Instead, he asked how it was, bringing up his father, Coleson, in the process. Micah grinned at his friend. "I'm not saying Dad's a liar, but it wasn't as fun as he led me to believe. Then again, I was never as good at lap dances as he was. Tried to use a Greek stage name, too. Eros. I quit about three months in. But I still call two of my friends from there every once in a while."

It wasn't until he was done answering Leo's question that he realized Alana had zeroed in on Cam's reaction to this whole mess. Though the cogs in his head turned pretty slowly most of the time, they managed to click into place just in time for him to figure out that Cam was embarrassed. It would appear that the clothes weren't his, after all.

Ignoring the tension between Alana and Cam, Micah stepped away from his cooking (again) and put his hands on Cam's shoulders. "Cam. Honey." He waited until his old friend looked him in the eye. There were many things he wanted to say, like there was nothing to be ashamed of, that she was probably better at it than him, that she could always talk to his dad if she wanted tips or something, that she was still basically his second little sister.

Instead, this was what he said:

"What's your stage name? Also, when are you on next? I want to come support you."

and so the cycle continues
Leonard nodded at Micah's admittance. Like any other job, it seemed like it entirely depends on the person whether it was enjoyable or not. "Eros, huh? Not a bad choice of a stage name." Or at least, it didn't sound too bad. He hasn't really been talking to many strippers to find out what their stage names were and what kind of experiences they had. "Well, at least you could cross that out of your bucket list eh? Being a stripper-" He made a motion of taking out an imaginary list and then using an imaginary pen to cross it out with a small grin.

It was then that Cameron snatched away the skirt from Tyler's hands and turned back to Alana - looking her straight into the eyes and admitting that it was hers. Leonard blinked, his mind processing the entire thing. He had convinced himself that Cameron couldn't have ever resorted to such jobs. Hm, five years is still five years. Everyone probably changed a lot - Leonard had to admit that he did too. And it wasn't like he knew Cameron all that well either.

Micah had been the first to move to ask her about her stage name and then asked for her schedule. Leonard took a sip of his coffee, mulling over what he should say. It's not like he was particularly disappointed. Simply surprised. Though, it seems she was very embarrassed about it - if her earlier hesitation was an indication. In any case, Micah had the right idea. They should support her.

"Well, how about you then?" Leonard asked, calling back to his earlier question to Micah. "How was the whole thing? Are you at least enjoying it?" A job should be something you would enjoy. Leonard knew that was the truth because so far, he had been rethinking about the decisions that led to him landing straight back to his father despite having every intention to leave the family business behind once upon a time. He shook his head, this wasn't the time for that. It was where he was now. No more complaining.

"I really do have to ask, why'd you bring the clothes? It doesn't exactly fare well for-" He gestured to the general direction of the window. It was horribly cold outside and the only thing keeping them warm inside was the heater. He was a hundred percent sure that such form fitting and revealing clothing did not give provide much insulation for the cold.

ZEMORA SHELBIA
T.....H.....E..........N.....E.....R.....D

"Language," she murmured, her tone quiet but fueled by her usual sarcastic manner, regarding Caydon's fit over the van. The faintest sense of dread washed over her as she began to process the information he relayed. The van had broke down, which could mean that the group would be stuck in the lodge for longer than anticipated. That certainly won't do, especially for Zemora.

She drew away from her own mind when Caydon questioned what kind of person she thought he was, to which Cameron replied with the exact answer, albeit unknowingly. The girl shared a wary glance with the male, being one of the only members of their friend group to have full knowledge of his occupation and livelihood. A secretary in the political world and a leader of a gang surely made for an odd friendship, but there was a sliver of pride in being trusted with his secret, in being trusted to not tell anyone else of it.

However, she also knew that there was something between Caydon and Cameron, a flame that had rekindled even after all this time apart. Caydon would be expected to tell the group soon — there was no possible way that such a secret could last so long.

Her hand reached for a can of coffee once Leo moved away from the grocery bags, idly taking note of how many cans had been purchased and if it would be enough to last the duration of their time in the cabin without any means of venturing out. After all, the van was broken. She opened the lid, immediately tipping her head back to take a swig of the bitter sensation. "Exactly what I needed," she mused, more to herself than anyone in the room.

An ongoing commotion in the living room caught her attention. She lowered the hand holding her coffee towards her chest, and stepped out of the kitchen and towards where the group was huddled over someone's luggage. It took a split second for her gaze to latch onto the lingerie in Alana's grasp and the platform heel resting on the floor. A quizzical expression crossed her features, her dark brows furrowing as she contemplated how the attire of a stripper found its way into someone's luggage.

Surely, none of her friends were leading such a life following high school. Right?

Her confusion became far more evident when Micah took ownership of the attire. "What?" she questioned, her glance shifting from Alana's hand to the male. "You were a stripper?" While she had high respects for anyone that delved into sex work, knowing that the industry was corrupt and oftentimes traumatizing, she couldn't possibly imagine him performing in male lingerie at clubs. "How-"

Her voice fell quiet when suddenly, a blonde head of hair stalked towards Alana and took claim of the lingerie. Her sister had begun berating Cameron, egging the girl on and fishing for details behind the article of clothing. For all that Zemora prided on, truly believing that she was the smartest among her friends, it was an immense struggle to piece together the lingerie with Cameron, the epitome of innocence and rule-abiding. Judging from the other reactions in the room, she wasn't the only one confused, but Micah and Leo were quick to accept the situation and ask her reasonable questions. She took a deep inhale and stepped around her friends, turning to face Cameron. "Just out of curiosity.... You're not in any financial trouble, are you?"

Per her sharp memory, she could recall that Cameron had been born into a wealthy family, which she supposed was a primary reason for their daughter's good record. Had she been cut off by her parents? Was her student debt too much to pay back in time? She didn't want her concern for the girl to be obvious, so her question appeared hesitant, unsure if that was the reason why Cameron became a stripper.
when will you be back at the office?

Alana shook her head at Leo's comment to let up on Cam and she probably would've if she wasn't still high from smoking with Tyler. "I'm not judging, just curious!" she protested. Before she knew it the blonde was yanking the lingerie from her fingers and admitting that it was hers, a smirk tugging at Alana's lips. She couldn't help but wonder what it was like to get up on stage and dance. The girl had guts that's for sure. It took a lot to have all those eyes on you like that and she'd never really seen Cam as the type. Guess she shouldn't underestimate people. "Go you. I bet you look fierce in that," she winked before turning to walk away and sit on a nearby bar stool.

Upon hearing Leo's question for the girl she smirked. Her mind couldn't catch up with her mouth to stop her from saying what came next. "Maybe she wanted to wear it for a special someone. You know, some people do that sorta thing," she rolled her eyes. Part of her was throwing a dig at him for their lack of spice in the relationship and the other was just spouting out whatever came into her head. She wasn't sure but maybe Cam did intend on wearing it for someone, her eyes traveling to Caydon as the thought crossed her mind.

"Not everyone is a stick in the mud, Zem," she added in reference to the questions of why she was stripping. Maybe that was harsh but Alana was used to her sister's judgment so she just assumed that was why she asked. She muttered something under her breath about needing a drink then turned her attention to Micah. "I can totally see you being a stripper," she laughed a little but she was being sincere. He had the personality to entertain and the looks to earn good money from it. Not that she fancied a lap dance or anything. Ugh! Go away bad thoughts!

Caydon just stared at Cam. He was in shock, images were passing through his mind at a rapid pace. He was frozen in completely surprised. Cameron was...a stripper? She was a fucking stripper?!?!?! What the fuck. What the actual fuck. She had all the money in the world. He knows her father was still doing well enough..not that he kept tabs on them. Oh, so what if he did? It wasn't like it was nothing illegal in checking up on an old friend. So why...why was she doing stripping for strangers who did not deserve to even glance her way. He grew angry but closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He had no right to get jealous, Cameron wasn't his, no matter how much he wanted her to be. And he did. So badly.

He had always wanted the girl with the golden heart. One of the only people who ever saw the true him. She was his entire world in High School. He made sure that no one messed with her or broke her heart. Caydon was never good enough for her, even her father knew that about him. That night flashing back in his mind, that night that her father threatens to take away his sister's child, his family if he ever thought about asking her out. It was the day, he was gonna tell her how he felt. Tell her everything. Reality came crashing through. He was destined for the dark alleys, the broken streets, and the guns and blood. Cam was so much more, she deserved so much more. So he kept his mouth shut, and just watched as the love of his life walked out of his life. He tried with Varla. He tried but no one could be her. No one could be Cameron.

He snapped out of his head when Alana snapped at Zemmy, having missed a lot of what happened. He looked at Alana and glared. Sure, Zem was a bit of a stick in the mud but she was just checking to make sure that Cam didn't need help. Unlike Alana, who thought Zem was judging Cam. Caydon knew the truth, that she was just concerned for Cameron, and was checking if she needed any money help. Zem and he had the weirdest friendship, a gang lord and a political secretary. It made no sense. Zippo but it worked. It had worked ever since High School. Zemora whether she knew or not was his baby sister and was a protected member of the gang. He may or may not have added her to the gang without her knowledge but it was for a good reason. If anything was to happen to him or his sister, Zem had custody of Lilo. He had yet to tell her this but hell he was pretty sure she already knew.

"Alana, she was just asking. There's no need to jump down her throat ok?" He said in a gruff and strong voice as he walks towards Zem and stands by her as he looked at Zem to check if she was ok. "It's completely valid fucking question. I would have ask the same thing. She wasn't judging Cam." He said strongly with a hint of you better back the fuck off. No one talks to Zem that way. He placed his arm around Zem, to let her know that he was there to back her up always. It may have seemed like they were a couple but honestly, she was his baby sister, and he would always protect her no matter up. She was his Zemmy.

Well no one seemed that surprised by Micah informing them of his job. Though she guessed if she thought about enough, she shouldn’t really be all that surprised. Micah was always a free spirit. A more adventurous side occupation didn't seem out of the ordinary. The penny dropped however when Cam had admitted ownership of the skirt Tyler was currently having a dance with which admittedly caught Mari off guard enough to stare as Cam snapped the outfit off him. She might have even slipped out a giggle at his joking mannerisms, finding them amusing if Cam didn't seem so upset about it and such a bit of news was dropped. Was she disappointed with the new information? No, of course not. What right or reason would she have to be? Besides, if she could be successful at something like that, more power to her. Mari definitely could not do the same. She honestly was just surprised that the girl she knew as a goodie two shoes and assumed she would be studying hard or something had decided such a thing. Another reminder of change she supposed.

While Mari didnt want to pry and instead wanted to show support for Cam, Zem did ask a very important question that Mari didn't think of right away. Mari knew financial trouble all too well over the years, even if she was in a more comfortable position now it wasnt like she forgot though...didn't Cam's family have money? Maybe something had happened she missed over the past 5 years?... She couldn't help but look to Cam with a hint of concern in her eyes as if silently asking the same thing.

The question had resulted in both a remark from Alana and a sharp response from Caydon before Cam could even answer. The whole thing sounding a bit tense. A feeling of something uncomfortable shot up her spine. Like this was an exchange she somehow wasn't supposed to hear. Her eyes darted away awkwardly, catching the kitchen doorway and the food she and Micah were supposed to be making already. Half thinking maybe a meal would settle peoples thoughts and wanting to be in a...less awkward situation she took a step back "I'll get back to working on dinner if anyone wants to...uhm... join in" she spoke softly to announce her departure before sliding off to the kitchen counter again to finish what she had started.

Tyler was indeed holding the schoolgirl skirt up to his hips and sashaying back and forth, putting on his version of a stripper show. Apparently, the clothes belonged to Micah? The shoes, too? Interesting, but to be honest, Tyler could see it. And who was he to judge? Micah had a personality that belonged onstage. Of course, Tyler had always thought a performance stage, not a stripper stage, but again, no judgement. Only a couple of them seemed surprised at Micah's confession, but the tables turned in a matter of seconds when Alana zeroed in on Cameron's reaction.

"Cameron what?" Tyler stopped mid sashay, looking around the room. His eyes came to settle on the redfaced goodie two shoes, who seemed to be at a loss for words. He looked at the blonde like a little sister, and realizing said little sister danced for money was quite a shock. Alana went on to ask who she was wearing the clothes for, and Ty's shock gave way to amusement and he started dancing again.

Leo told his fiance to let it go, and next thing Ty knew, Cam was snatching the skirt out of his hands. He smirked and held his hands up in mock defeat. Micah stepped over to the still embarrassed Cam, and the words that came out of his mouth nearly caused Tyler to choke.

"What's your stage name? Also, when are you on next? I want to come support you."

"Yeah! Now it's a party." Tyler grinned, then seemed to think about what he said. "Only we need other strippers. I'm not watching someone I consider a sister dance, no offense." Cameron rolled her eyes at his comment, and he shrugged. The situation just got more and more intense as Leo asked Cam if she enjoyed it, and then Zem asked if she was in financial trouble. Alana clapped back at that one, and Ty let out a low whistle.

"No cat fights." Tyler watched as Mari excused herself to the kitchen. Deciding to follow, he headed in that direction. "Alright, Mari. I can't cook but how can I help? Can you believe Cam's a stripper?"
