Despite being extremely disgruntled by Faust's fits of laughter, he still found it fitting to smirk as he used the time bought by his last attack to wipe most of the pie blocking his sight away. He felt a slight push on his armour again; another attempt at kicking? "Did you not learn the first time?" He inquired mockingly between gasps, still recovering from the pain. "Kicking armour does nothing."

He was unable to help but laugh at his enemy's other statements. "Did you truly believe I was attempting to take your life? I was simply toying with you." He mocked, as if believing such a thing was the most foolish mistake anyone could make. Still struggling to breathe, he could at least try to have the last laugh, he supposed. It did not matter to him whether Faust believed his statement or not; either way, he would either end up underestimating or overestimating Ordred, provided they met again.

Faust sighed, and grabbed the handle of the broken Widow Howl and cloaked. Luckily, the blade that broke wasn't taking a turn, it was falling on the ground, and it landed right in front of Nidelia, almost cutting her foot off. Faust cloaked, and then used the handle for another attempt to hit Ordred in the crotch again, only even harder than last time, before retreating ontop a tree and lying there.

The citizens' whispering came to a halt, and every sound fell silent. The shadows danced and filled the street with it's darkness, and a figure clad in full armour walked down the street, a weapon almost the size of him in his hand. Kaine carefully eyed the stranger, who had a very, suspicious accent. He eyed it so very closely. The light this thing gave off was almost blinding. No doubt, a lightling. And it definitely wasn't the little Emi twerp. He walked in front of Cora, towering over her. He gave her a light bow, and his mouth grew into a grin as he began talking under that armour.

Well. Is it not the daughter of Ordred? Are you trying to cut time off your practise again?

He asked, in a somewhat light tone.

Please, leave this insignificant little wretch to me.

He turned around to the guy in the cloak, and pulled his ragged cloak right off. Green hair, and a longsword he'd recongnise anywhere. No doubt about it.

Soryn of Lightwood. I see you still haven't made an upgrade to that piece of crap metal, have you?

He said in a mocking voice. He'd remembered that Bowyn had captured two Faeries. So Soryn had come to trade resources for the two people back. Maybe he'd taunt the prince a little... But killing him would be out of the question...

no...

Killing him would dirty his name. Killing an almost defenceless little wretch? That was just as low as the tactics the so called 'guardian' used.

What in all heaven and hell do you think you're doing? Dressed like some thief, running around Darkhold? Do you need an escort home?

The more he started to talk, the more the grin grew behind the helmet. Maybe he'd try to make Soryn burst with anger? Or go on about his grandparents? Or maybe insult his mother...

"...A stray darkling," came the reply as Alistair strode toward Collin, "Upsetting things". The creature was either brave, stupid or catatonic. Alistair lent down a little to look Collin in the eye before turning his head as if weighing up what to do next. It did not take him long to decide as his hand, strikingly fast shot out as Alistair wrapped his fingers around Colllin's neck. He rose to his full height, lifting the dark faerie off the ground. With Collin grasping his forarms to hold his weight, Alistair began walking toward the border of the forest carrying Collin to his side.

"You see young one, this place is out of balance. Something is here that should not be. And Balance. Is. Our. Duty." Alistair began, continuing to walk. "Guardians do not fight the petty wars of queens and kings." This was not strictly true, he did have his loyalties and obligations but this was not what he saw his role to be. "A guardian's role is to keep the flock." He pressed Collin against the trunk of a tree. "By culling the wolves who threaten it." He raised his other hand. There was a crack like thunder and a glowing, white claw extended from his index finger which he held raised, poised to strike. But he did not. Instead Alistair leaned inward to once again study his catch.

"But it is not you" The guardian dropped Collin to the ground, though he did not sheath the claw. "Can you feel it?" He asked, speaking slowly as if he was carefully considering each word. "Something is here that does not belong..."

{Julian of Darkhold}

Julian was among the crowd that had been observing Cora as she made her way through the crowd.  He'd been putting on a fire juggling show for the public up until word reached him Cora was coming, of which he quickly cleaned up his juggling equipment.  He now instead stood watching and listening to Cora and the stranger.  He then watched as Kaine involved himself with the group.  He made his way through the crowd, which was quickly thinning because no one wanted to be around if a fight broke out.

He walked up.  "Is the prince of Lightwood really worth your time?" he asks Kaine curiously as he looks Soryn up and down.

@Lost @JustAlexandra

{Nidelia of Lightwood}

Nidelia was about to yell at them again before her eyes widened and she allowed herself to drop to the ground onto her stomach, shooting a glare at Faust.  Of course it was also only just then she realized that they were both Darkhold Faeries.  Why were they fighting with each other.  "What are you two doing fighting each other?!  Aren't you both Darkhold Fae?!" she snaps at them, looking up at them from her precariously vulnerable spot there on the ground.  She didn't seem to be afraid of them even though they were both of the other faction.  Instead she looked rather mad at them, but not over the fact that a boomerang scythe was attempting to kill her, but because two Fae of the same faction were fighting.

~~Wasn't there enough fighting between the Lightwood and Darkhold Fae without in-fighting?~~ she thought to herself.  Then she saw the cloaked man attempt to throw the armored one in the way of the Scythe for her and she jumped back up, not going to allow that to happen.  Though to her surprise, instead of the Scythe hitting her it landed right in front of her foot and she sighed and looked at them.  "You should be ashamed of yourselves!" she scolded.

Unfortunately for Faust, such an attack would not work a second time, and Ordred evaded his second attempt at his private area, albeit with slight difficulty. Curses, the coward had gone off and hid again. "I do believe you should hurry on home to your little Lightwood. This has nothing to do with you." He turned to the unknown light fae, feeling too irate to deal with whomever she happened to be. "I shall be leaving soon myself."

|Soryn of Lightwood|

The prince shook his head. "No thank you. But I could use an escort to the castle, if you're offering," Soryn replied, a friendly smile on his face. Unlike most fairies of Darkhold, Soryn held no good will for Kaine. But he knew what Kaine was trying to do; years of politics had taught him quite a bit; and he refused to let the man get under his skin.

He turned his attention to the other fairy, the one who had tried to intervene on his behalf, and gave him a look of gratitude. He didn't know this particular resident of Darkhold, but he was grateful somebody had picked up on Kaine's mocking tone, and tried to help. He reminded himself to thank the fairy, when Kaine wasn't near. He knew the High Lord would take it as an insult if Soryn gave out thanks to anyone who stood against the man, and the prince could hardly have that. Politics were all about face, after all, and when he became king he could hardly make an enemy out of a High Lord of Darkhold.

Finally, he turned to the noblewoman he had run into earlier, only to find she wasn't a noblewoman at all. It had been Cora, the Guardian Heir.

In retrospect, he shouldn't have been surprised. Townsfolk didn't show such reverence to any blue blood, and she had acted as a guard of sorts. "Let me formally apologize for my suspicious behavior. While I have I faith in the people of Darkhold, I'm not foolish enough to believe I have no enemies here.

Cora Of Darkhold

Cora pursed her lips as Kaine walked up to the two, interrupting what she was about to say. This man was clearly not there for his "gran". She wasn't even sure what herbs could be found by the castle, but it wasn't many. Not to mention he had already been revealed as the prince of Lightwood. She was irritated, though. Her and Kaines job descriptions were both similar and different. Cora is heir to guardian, which means she will protect the people, town, and castle directly. Kaine protects the people on the battle grounds, from what she understood. With a bit of this and that here and there. That being said, she didn't appreciate her job being taken from her. Like she couldn't handle the prince of Lightwood. That was basically the definition of things she was qualified to deal with, once she became Guardian.

Cora scoffed at Kaine. "I am an excellent fighter, and you know it. Anyways, aren't you supposed to be doing your job?" she asked. She wasn't really good at comebacks, but that was the best she could think of. Her lack of people skills didn't help. "I can take care of...the prince," she said, looking Soryn up and down. He surely was a ways from home.

A fairy approached them then, surprising Cora if nothing else. That was pretty ballsy for a fairy, if she must say. To approach the guardian's heir and Kaine. She kept a mental note of the fairy, in case she saw him again. She said nothing as they spoke, waiting to see what would happen. Frankly this was the most exciting thing to happen to her today.

@Lost @Nidelia @MrEvilMexican

Kaine was somewhat amused at Cora's remark on how she's a fine fighter herself.

Yes, I am quite aware that you are a decent fighter. I daresay, you could beat me to pulp in hand-to-hand combat.

However, his smile faded when he heard the sound of someone making an insulting remark to him. He turned to the fool who would dare defile the fine veil of silence he inflicts upon the citizens of Darkhold.

YOU. Normally, I'd make you regret making a remark like that to me, but since I'm in a good mood... I will let you off for now, and deal with you later.

He moved forward a few steps, away from the fool and toward the prince.

You'd appreciate an escort to the castle? Well, you're in luck. I'm heading there myself as well.

He signalled to Soryn to follow him, and faced the other way, as all the citizens moved away to form a pathway for him to move.

Any suspicious movement, and I'll have your head served with soup, understand?

The prince raised an eyebrow. "Wouldn't dream of it." Soryn fell in step with Kaine. With his cover blown, travelling with Kaine was the safest way to the castle, repulsive as it may be.

As they began towards the castle, Soryn looked back to Cora and tipped his head slightly forward. He hoped she caught his message; that he wanted her to follow. It was silly, he knew, him asking the opposing guardian to accompany them, but he couldn't be sure Kaine would keep him alive. The man was a scoundrel, living for Moralee's beck and call. And Soryn knew he didn't hesitate to commit murder 'for the greater good'. Kaine was notorious for his ruthlessness, after all.

As if Kaine had read Soryn's mind, he turned his head backward and stopped dead in his tracks. He took a breath and...

Look, I know you don't like me. You have a problem with killing people, don't you? Well let me tell you, I am loyal to myself, and Darkhold alone. I would have no problem killing you, or Moralee in that fact, if it meant Darkhold survivng another single day.

Most nobles, or soldiers would never even dream of claiming that he/she had no problem murdering Moralee, but he knew none of the common folk even dared to mouth him off.

So if you think I'd do anything at the Queen's command, you are wrong.

He continued to walk toward to the castle, and continued to say things to Soryn even as he was walking.

Now I have a strange feeling about the two 'Faeries' that just randomly appeared today. From what I've heard, there is a Lightling, and then the other is a creature that does not resemble any Fae.

He kept his mouth shut about the balance between Dark and Light shifting to a more reasonable scale. He didn't need the little prince going about with crazy ideas. He didn't exactly like the idea of Escorting the Prince either, as he had some other business to attend to later. Maybe he'd just dump Soryn in the Castle the second he got there? Darkhold Nobles are dropping dead here and there and a PARTICULAR Noble family seems to get more powerful with each dead Noble. A particular family he himself had mocked once or twice... But that was when they were hardly powerful at all. He looked behind to make sure Soryn didn't get himself lost and murdered. Though he liked the idea of seeing him cry for help.

Anyhow...

He saw this as an opportunity to get something he wanted... Though he resented the idea of having to pay the Prince to bring him the moron's head.

There's a particular person's head that I want... Yellow haired, acts like a moron and he has this pet dragon thing. I know that you are clear on who I am talking about. If you'd bring him to me, I'd gladly give you the two captives for free.

Soryn stopped walking. He wondered when the High Lord would bring this up. The feud between Faust and Kaine wasn't exactly an indistinct one. The prince looked Kaine dead in the eye. "Let me get something straight. No matter how many times you ask, or how much blackmail you have against me, I will not give up Faust." Faust was lazy, easygoing, and nonchalant, and rarely tried to improve public opinion of himself. But he had become something akin to family. And, unlike most, he shared Soryn's dislike of needless death, and really stepped up to the plate when Lightwood needed him.

"Nor will I, for that matter, give you any fairy from Lightwood. Wouldn't you agree that such trades would negate the purpose of my visit entirely?"

Highlord Kaine Blackmire

Kaine smirked under his helmet. He had expected that response, before he had even asked.

And what right do you have? He's a traitorous little wretch. And haven't you realised he's older than any Fae is meant to be? He's a demon. Nobody should be able to live for three-hundred years and still look like a child.

Obviously, Kaine was making shit up. He had only known that the traitor should be dead naturally by now, but he has no idea of his true age.

Anyhow, he's a traitor. Darkhold deserves to have his head by right. It'd be for the best anyway. He'd stab you right in the back when he'd get the chance. The Darklings don't call him 'Nightmare's Reaper' for no reason.

That was a lie as well. What Kaine had said was merely what the higher authorities of Darkhold made him out to be.

Anyway, the castle is just ahead.

|Soryn of Lightwood|

Soryn shook his head. "Say what you will. I'd trust Faust with my life." He turned his gaze to the castle, looming ahead in all of its splendor. "Well, I imagine you have your duties as High Lord, so I won't keep you any longer." The prince bowed politely to Kaine. "Thank you for bringing me to the castle; I won't soon forget it." With that, he stood, and stepped into the structure. He knew he'd likely have a long, tense meeting ahead of him, so he relished the brief moment of respite he had in the entryway.

Kaine let out an almost unnoticeable sigh. It seemed like getting the moron was a harder than that. But it was what he had expected.

Very well. I will leave you here. Don't insult me by getting you killed.

He couldn't think of anything more annoying than the person he had bothered to escort dying. He had originally planned on seeing the captives for himself, but he had already figured out what one of the captives is.

I have better things to do anyway...

He muttered to himself, and went on his way. There was one particular Noble family he needed to see. And not for good reasons, either...

Nightmare's Reaper, Faust Windfallow

Faust looked down the tree at Ordred, and couldn't help but giggle to himself. One Guardian, pissed because he had been hit in the groin by a 'treacherous weasel'.

Well goodbye. I'll send you an apology card for hitting you in the dick.

He said, waving Ordred goodbye, though he would not see him, as he was still cloaked in the tree. He then looked down at the random lightling that jumped into the place and almost got herself killed.

Real sorry. Every Darkling to live in Darkhold all really hate me, and calls me a traitor. But still, why the hell did you jump in the way of the blade? Seriously, do you not value your life?

He was somewhat amused at Nidelia, jumping in and trying to be a hero. He gave a long yawn before putting his hands behind his head. They made a much better cushion than the tree trunk. Only that his left arm hurt like crazy with his head pressed against it, so he pulled it away.

Anyhow, don't run toward sounds that well... sounds dangerous. Anyway, I'll be going back to Lightwood later. You should too.

Muriel Muir

The entire time they'd been in this cell, no, since Lana had insisted that she just had to check out that stupid pond, Muriel had been frowning disapprovingly at her sister. And now, they were locked up in a prison is some other... world without any real way to get out or call for help. Hell, if they called for help it might just get them killed in this place, Muriel didn't know. She stood at the far corner of the cell with her arms crossed over her chest as she watched her sister pull uselessly on the bars that separated them from the outside world.

"I. Cannot. Believe. I. Let. You. Drag. Me. Into. This," she said to Lana, finally letting the urge to lecture her sister take over, her frustration and irritation dripping from every syllable," for the love of all things good Lana what were you thinking?!"

Lana whirled upon her sister, purple eyes flashing. "I'm sorry Muriel, okay? I didn't know the pond was magic!" Lana crossed her arms and leaned against the bars. "I'm going to get us out of here. I just need a plan." She looked about the cell, looking for any means of escape. she couldn't see any but she continued to look anyways.  "Don't tell me you weren't curious about the pond too." She knocked on the stone walls around her but they were very solid.

@Smoaki

Muriel Muir

"Sorry? You're sorry?! Lana, I don't care how curious I was about the pond, I wouldn't have gone and just jumped right in!" She continued, managing just barely to keep her tone at a normal speaking voice as not to bother those who might have the power to kill them," And a plan? Lana when have you ever planned anything and actually had it work out? One of your plans at this point might as well just be to ask them to kill us now and save themselves the trouble later!"

She started to pace the back wall of the cell in frustration, one hand twisting the ring on the other furiously, her nervous attempting to escape in the such motion.

Elmer was passing through the forest, lugging a few rabbits on their back from their recent hunt, before seeing the two fairies. One was obviously a Guardian, and Elmer did not want to mess with one, so they went to take cover behind a nearby tree. However, as they were on their way to hide, they tripped over a root and slammed face first in the tree trunk, creating a loud "Thunk!". So much for stealth.

@Collinbu98 @Ironrot

Collin didn't even make an attempt to avoid the guardians quick strike; it was clearly futile to try and defend himself.  Instead, Collin made himself deathly still, silently praying this moment would not be his last.  When the Guardian released, Collin took such a huge breath of relief he almost missed the guardian's words.

Still disgruntled from the guardian's feint attack, Collin was about to reveal his information right there just to move the attention elsewhere, when suddenly, something else did this for Collin in the form of a loud "thunk".  Collin's gaze immediately shot over to the sound, hoping the guardian's had as well.

@Ironrot @Scythio

Lana shook off her sister's comments. "I didn't jump in, okay? I was pulled. I will get us out of here you have  to trust me. Now I'm wondering why you look normal and I don't." Lana found the lock on the cell door and began inspecting it. She needed something small and thin to pick the lock. He pulled her ear ring out and tried to use the back end to pick the lock. When tat didnt work she searched her hair for a bobby pin. Finding one she began trying to wiggle it into the lock. @Smoaki

Alistair's head turned to quickly that it might have made an audible 'pop'.

" 'Friend of yours?" He asked, his deep voice echoing in his throat. With a single claw of light still raised, making a quiet cracking sound as it cut the air Alistar lumbered around the tree to find the faerie on the ground. A light faerie, clearly, Alistair reached down and lifted him up before placing back on his feet. The man hardly seemed a threat by himself, in both intent and capability but he did appear to have been skulking around like some forest rodent.

"Who." He paused to tilt his head, listening for any footfalls coming from Collin's direction, "Are you?"

God oh god oh god!!!

Solaire screamed in quite a panicked voice as he appeared to fall from the sky. He had planned to meet a fellow knight inside Lost Izalith, but he remembered that a weird bug thing jumped at his face and startled him so much he slipped over and fell inside some puddle, and suddenly found himself falling from the sky...

He closed his eyes and prepared for impact with the roof of some castle, until he heard a very loud explosion. A streak of lightning had struck a huge hole in the castle roof, and he was falling even further. On his journey down, he did briefly fall past a guard... but he couldn't quite make out his or her shape, as he was falling quite fast. He soon hit the floor, which happened to be the room Muriel and Alana were locked in. He made a huge sound that would've disturbed both the girls quite a lot. However, Solaire was in a world of pain, as he had broken quite a lot of bones. He ran his fingers over his chest, as some form ornate energy ran through him, repairing his bones, and the pain was suddenly gone.

By the shining high heavens and the dark burning hells!!! My luck is horrible!

He didn't seem to notice he had fallen into a prison cell or that there were two more people in the cell.

@Solaire_ (yes, try hard guard)

@Firebright (good evening)

Elmer let out a low groan of regret, before using their hand to draw a glowing script reading {I'm Elmer} in the air for the guardian to see. They tried peeking behind the guy to see anything, but only managed to catch a glimpse of a Darkling. Elmer decided to risk their chances and add a question to their script. {What's happening here?}.
