~Friday, 3:15 PM, Easton City High~

"Yeah, man, I'll see ya tomorrow," Trey said to his friend as the two of them were walking out of class. It was the end of the day, and Trey was all ready to spend the weekend hanging out with his friends. I wonder what I should make for myself and Susan tonight, he thought to himself. As he got to the courtyard of the school, he noticed how beautiful the Fall leaves looked, stopping to take out his camera and snag a picture. Trey noticed a few girls try to get themselves into his picture, but he sighed and wagged his finger playfully, causing them to swoon for him. He walked over to the parking lot to get his car and drive off to buy ingredients for the night's dinner.

~4:15 PM~

Trey returned home after a trip to the grocery store, parking in the driveway of the house. He got out of the car and entered the house with his bags, hearing the sounds of the TV emanating from the living room, which most likely meant his sister was home. Putting his stuff down in the kitchen, he called out, "Hey, Susan, how was school?"

"Oh, hey, bro!" she called back, "Okay, I guess. We found a lizard out in the playground today. By the way, there's a package for you on the counter, don't know who it's from though. It just had your name on it."

"That's pretty cool," Trey said as he unpacked the groceries. "Package for me?" He walked over to the counter, finding a small box addressed to him. Opening the box, a small but intricate key fell out along with a slip of paper with writing on it. Trey mumbled the letter to himself. Sundown? He looked at the clock. He still had a few hours before sunset.

"What's in the box?"

"Oh, nothing, probably just a dumb prank." He brought the letter and key up into his room, tossing them onto his desk.

Easton High School

"Oh Emm Gee, its probably you are just a total Bootycall." Kendra rolled her eyes, her phone glued to her ear, the charms dangling to her chin and her attitude glasses crooked on her nose. She laughed. "Well, its true, Conner just wants sex, and he is just a man whore. He gets into the pants of every girl, just not me, I am not one of those bimbos. Okay, girly i gotta go, I am heading to my car." She paused a bit, taking out her keys. "Oh my god, no, its my cute little buggy car. come on, you know its cute." She looked at her Bug, pink and convertible, with white wall tires and a bumper sticker that says "I brake for hot guys."

"Okay, sexy bitch i gotta go, I will catch you on Instagram." She hung up and jumped in her car. As she drove on home, knowing her fathers will not be home yet, she turned on Ariana Grande and cranked the volume up.

Friday 4:15 p.m.

Brook Lane.

With a turn into a suburban neighborhood, toward some very rich looking houses, she made it home. She noticed a Blue Corvette was there. One of her dads was home. She turned off her car, got out and grabbed her handbag. When she walked in , the scent of cakes and cookies welcomed her.

"Well, Dad, someone had a good day at work." She shouted as she took off her shoes at the doorway.

"Hello, Kendra, how was school, Darling?" Joseph Wilcox took off his mitts and leaned on the wall, his apron still on him, stained with flour. "Your father is performing a surgery, hun so he wont be home until late at night. But me, I started my vacation."

"Yay, does that mean we can finally go see that broadway show together?"

"Oh, honey, you know it. Oh by the way, Kendra. You have a package in the mail. I put it in your room. And clean it, please, your dad does not want to see your thongs everywhere, for fashion reasons and for father reasons."

"My underwear is cute."

"You tell yourself that, dear."

Kendra laughed and kissed her dad on the cheek before heading upstairs. When she entered her room, she picked up some of her loose clothing and looked at her desk at the Package. It said her Name, but nothing else, no return address, nothing, just her name. She opened it and found a beautiful ornate key, thinking this will be a wonderful charm on her phone, then picked up the Paper.

"Flipside tournament? Do I look like a fighter? ugh, stupid scam artists." Kendra rolled her eyes and placed the key in her drawer.

Dominic was sitting in the middle of his living room, the package three feet across from him. He stared at it intently, "Not a gift... Not a prank... Hopefully..." He mumbled to himself. Dominic opened the package and stared at the key inside as he took the letter. He read the words before scoffing, "Well, finally something interesting." He threw the letter aside and took the key. "Might as well try it out when the times comes." Dominic stood up and walked around to see which door he would try it on. After a bit walking around he chose to make it the front door. He had hoped this wasn't a scam, "Got nothing better to do with my life." He thought to himself.

-= 3:53 PM + Some Highschool Thing =-

"Mya! Will you wait up?!" Amelia hissed, trying to balance her notebook in her arm and shove something into her bookbag with her other arm. Her phone hung between her teeth as she struggled to keep her sister's pace. Suddenly her phone slipped from her mouth and she dropped her bookbag and notebook to catch it. She could see Mya turning to see what she'd done, and she held up her phone. "Woo!" She said and knelt beside her stuff, shoving the things in her bookbag. She retrieved her notebook and threw her bookbag over her shoulder as she ran to catch up to Mya.

-= 4:56 + The Sidewalk, Somewhere around the city. =-

Amelia felt her sister tug her arm as a little furry cat approached them. She leaned down to pet it as it rubbed against her leg. After awhile they started walking again and she caught herself looking at all the beautiful trees. She took out her phone and took a picture, uploading it to Snapchat immediately. About a minute later they turned the corner and were at their house. Her sister went in and went to the kitchen first, not surprising. Amelia followed her, taking a few chocolates from the 'cookie' jar that their mother put for them when they come home from school, since she was always too busy to make any real cookies for them. Amy never minded this. She took the note off the counter that had rested beside the jar, reading their chores out loud. There were never many, it was usually just walk the dog and tidy up their rooms, but she read the last part separately.

-Amelia, there's a package for you in your room. I left it on your bed.

As she made her way upstairs, she threw her bookbag onto the floor and tossed her notebook there too. While unwrapping one of her Hershy bars, she examined the package. She shook it, of course, then opened it. Reading the letter carefully a few times, she took out the key. Flipping it a few times before shrugging and setting it on her bed. Sundown, eh? She thought, checking the time on her phone. She pondered if she should tell Mya, but decided not to because that would require getting up and that was not something Amy wanted to do at the moment.

~Friday, 4:45pm. His Apartment.~

What on earth could this be? Caelum thought as he strolled though his living room to the bedroom. He carried a strange package in hand, that did not tell him who it was from. Probably mom sending me stuff again to make sure I'm okay. Caelum smiled softly sitting down on the edge of his bed, and taking a moment to open the package. Inside was not what he expected to find. A key, and a letter? Maybe it was from some internet service he may have accidentally applied for. "I need to stay away from those porn sites... too much adware." Caelum read through the letter and was slightly amused by the idea. He tended to enjoy a little bit of mystery, and fantasy. He really didn't think anything would come of the letter and the mysterious key, but a part of him really wished it to be true. "Well, I guess I'll see for myself at sundown." Until then, he would try researching this "Flipside Tournament" on the internet. Maybe he could turn up some clues to why it was mailed to him in the first place.

Friday, 6:32pm

In the school dorm.

Aralyn flopped onto her bed grateful to finally be back in her dorm again. She'd been out with a group of her girl friends and now she was wiped out. Her black Samsung cell phone buzzed. It was Linnie, one of her close friends.

Linnie97: Today was great! Hope we can have more fun like that later. :)  The girl smiled. It had been a lot of fun in the downtown park and she couldn't wait to go hang out again.

Ari-Scarletlocks: Next weekend! Let's chill together. ;)  Can't wait.

 She dropped the cellular device back on her desk and let her face fall into her soft pillow. Aaaahhhhhh... it was so comfortable. Then her phone buzzed again.

"Gah! What is it? I just want to sleep forever..." With a slight frown and pout on her face she powered on the screen again. It wasn't her friend this time, but a text from the mail center about a package that had arrived for her. Aralyn groaned. She was too tired. But it could be important. It could be from her mom. And she knew that her mom would text her soon to see if she got the package... so the red-head dragged herself up and exited the dorms.

Friday, 6:57pm

Mail Room

It was getting dark out and she hustled into the lit building hoping she would make it before it closed for the day. She went through the standard mail procedures, signing her name and whatnot. Taking the package under one arm she trundled off back to her warm waiting bed. As she was walking back she pulled out her phone and sent a quick text.

Ari-Scarletlocks: Thanks for the package mom. Just got it.

When she returned to her room, she took a pair of scissors and undid the packaging. "What the--" It wasn't a care package at all and it definitely was not from her mother. All it had was a letter and a key. She read the letter and decided it was horribly sketchy. Excited, she pulled out her phone and decided to tell Linnie. At the same time a text from her mother came.

ParentalUnit2: What package??

Ari-Scarletlocks: Nevermind, just junk mail.

Then to Linnie,

Ari-Scarletlocks: Hey, I just got this weird package from some company called Flipside. I think it's a prank or something. It tells me to put this key into any lock after sundown. Should I do it?!?

Linnie97: So SKETCH! Do it! XP

Ari-Scarletlocks: LOL, you're such an awful friend. What if I get kidnapped? xD

Linnie97: It's just a key, not like personal info or anything. Try it, I bet nothing will happen.

Ari-Scarletlocks: The key looks super fancy too~

Linnie97: lol, what kind of scammer is this...?!

Ari-Scarletlocks: IDK, I'll let you know what happens...

Linnie97: XP

~Friday, 6:30 PM, Velstein Residence, Trey's room~

Trey and Susan had an early dinner today, thoughts of the key stuck on his mind as he ate. He lie on his bed in thought with the key and letter still sitting on his desk. "Well, if it's a challenge, now way I'm backing down from it!" he said with conviction. The sun was already down, so he got up from his bed and grabbed the key. "Any door, huh?" He looked to his walk-in closet's door which also had a lock on the knob. Taking a deep breath, he inserted the key into the lock and turned it, blacking out immediately after.

~Friday, Flipside 6:30(?)~

Trey regained consciousness in the middle of a street in an unknown city bustling with people. The sky was a solid orange with shadowy clouds streaking along. There were many buildings, mostly small, and most of which seemed to be small shops for food and other items. But there was one building in particular which stood out from all the rest: a giant Colosseum with grand television screens running along the outside. They were all showing the same scene, a replay of two people fighting each other with what seemed to be super powers. The sceen then changed to a man in a suit and top hat standing on a stage, a white, smiling mask covering his face.

"Good evening, denizens of Flipside! Yesterday's fights were full of excitement, but it seems as if we're getting some new challengers today! Who are they? We don't know, but we'll find out soon enough! The first fight will begin soon, the combatants of which will be announced in just a moment! Be sure to grab some good seats, because we're gonna go for a wild ride!"

The voice of the man rang through Trey's ears as he noticed groups of people begin to enter the Colosseum, hoping to get good seats of their own. Excitement and fear took hold of Trey's body as he followed the crowd into the stadium. He noted that the man said "new challengers" as in there were multiple people that were new to this strange land, not just himself. What am I getting myself into? Trey thought to himself as he walked through the gate to the seating areas.

Trey found a seat a few rows back from the front of the edge of the stand. Shortly, a man slightly taller than Trey took a seat next to him, but something was odd about this man. This man had long, bull-like horns on his head!

"What are you staring at?" the man said, with a slightly annoyed look on his face because of how Trey was staring at him.

"Oh, nothing, nothing at all..." Trey replied with a nervous face.

The man laughed a hearty laugh. "Hah, no worries kid, but it's natural for us flipsides to have oddities like this! And judging by your scent, you must be new here."

"'Flipside'? Isn't this world named Flipside?"

"Well, yes, but the 'people' here are also flipsides. You'll get to know more and meet yours in time. The name's Tauren, by the way."

"Trey Velstein..." Trey had no choice but to take Tauren's word for it. Whatever he got himself in to, it was something big.

~Wednesday, 10:00, Mountain Time Zone~

He took one last glance around his barren room, making sure he had left nothing behind. He still couldn't believe this would be the last time he would enter his room. Then again, he couldn't believe his life could be utterly wrecked in the span of a single week, either. It was almost a relief he'd be leaving. Almost. Despite how he might have looked on the outside, Nakano was very bitter about leaving the only place he could call home, knowing his parents were buried at a nearby park. It was in their incomplete will. They were to be buried in Kinstown, with the closest family being his aunt that lived around a day's road trip away. He'd have to leave the graves unattended. Nakano was tempted to break something, but knew it would do more harm than good in this situation. He tried to remember the sound of his father laughing and his mother singing, but they danced just out of reach. He had never thought it'd happen to him. Being completely honest, he realized, he hadn't put much thought, if at all, that he would one day be living without parents. Everything had seemed so calm, so perfect, so permanent. Nakano could have laughed. How quickly things had changed. It didn't take him long to realize he had lived the perfect life. He had a small group of good friends, two loving parents, a home, good education. Now it was everything but perfect.

If he was being really honest, Nakano would say that it wasn't only until the funeral procession was over that he actually realized he had never bothered to get his friends' phone numbers. He saw them everyday. He had never counted on having to move away. His mother hated change, and his father didn't like to travel. Now that they were gone, there was nothing stopping the world from tossing him wherever it pleased. He blinked away the moisture in his eyes before they could become tears. He wouldn't- no, he couldn't cry. Not yet. He had his chance at the funeral. Too bad he was too shocked to even eat. Not knowing what else to do, he left the room. He was leaving tomorrow, and he didn't want to cause any trouble for the cop they had hired as temporary guardian. The man was sympathetic, and cooked well. That poor man had already listened to him vent twice, and didn't say a word until he had finished both times. Nakano didn't know if he could live with himself if he got the man into trouble just because he decided to start puberty early. It would be more than just immature, the cop could lose his job. It was funny that he cared, considering he didn't even know the man's name yet. "Hey, Nakano! I found a package for you on the front porch!" The cop called out from across the house. It was the only thing Nakano didn't like about him. A trivial thing, really. "It had no return address, so I checked it: it's just a key and a note. I take it you probably know what this is for, so I'll just leave you to it" he was probably cooking, because the cop left before he could even clarify that he knew nothing about anything that would need a key to open. He took the key and carefully read over the note, almost losing interest after the first two sentences. "Flipside? A tournament? They couldn't mail it to me after I left?" He grumbled, crumbling the paper and tossing it to the other side of the room, thoroughly disgusted. "Stupid con-men or businessmen or whoever sent the stupid box. Of all the times to send something like this!" He would have tossed the key, too, if the sun had not started setting.

Nakano had no idea what, but something told him to hold on to the key. Before he knew it, the sun had set and the cold atmosphere of winter had begun to set in. A pity: it was actually fairly warm that day. Ignoring the sudden cold, he took another look at the key, flipping it in his hands. The key almost seemed to call out to him. The door to his room could be locked from the inside. He looked at the keyhole, then back at the key, then back again, trying to decide whether it would be a good idea to humor the cruel joke he was almost certainly going to fall for. He took a deep breath to calm himself, realizing just how ridiculous he would look if the cop were to check in on him right now. "Just try it, then curse whoever sent this to Hell when nothing happens. Easy" except it wasn't. His feet wouldn't budge. Not yet. When the last rays of sunshine dipped below the visible horizon, he took a tentative step toward the door, quickly becoming frustrated with how easily his surroundings had affected him. He ignored the suddenly biting cold and the heaviness of his malnutritioned body and took the last five steps toward the door. He angrily shoved the key into the lock and gave it a twist, immediately falling into darkness. He screamed as he lost consciousness, only now realizing why it had been so cold in the house. He left his window open. He was swallowed up, leaving the makings of yet another crime scene to shake up the town. Things just kept getting better and better.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It took him a moment to realize he was still alive. It took him another moment to realize he wasn't home anymore. It took him yet another moment to realize he might have been very wrong about that key. He slowly cracked open one eye, taking a quick peek around only to realize he was most certainly not in Kinstown anymore. He seemed to be in the middle of a shopping square. Slowly, he got to his feet, trying desperately to find something he even vaguely recognized. He could find nothing. It almost seemed like he was in a different country. There were many open and closed shops scattered all around him, selling what looked to be only practical survival equipment and a strange variety of different foods. It looked like crying would have to wait a bit longer. Overhead, he immediately noticed a screen displaying two older teens absolutely duking it out in the middle of some kind of depressed stage, meaning the stage was lower than the stands. It all seemed like a fairly strange setup until he took his eyes off of the floating TV long enough to notice the massive Colosseum looming over the city. Or at least, it seemed that way until he noticed he was standing right in front of the entrance. He heard a man introduce himself, making him automatically turn to the screen and notice the man in the mask preparing to introduce the next battle. Nakano never liked fighting. He was very tempted to just walk in the opposite direction and act like nothing had happened, but his feet moved on their own. Before he knew it, he was up in the stands sitting near a few slightly older kids with enough hair colors to make a rainbow. His body gave out on him, causing him to slump into the nearest seat, too exhausted to move another inch. It didn't really take him too long to realize he was probably one of the "new challengers" seeing as he had barely managed to arrive. Then again, it could just be a wild assumption based on the strange circumstances he ended up here, but he was fairly convinced his wild assumption was correct. A real pity, since he didn't know how to fight. How did he get into this mess in the first place?
(Most posts won't be this long. Figured since I missed two I could catch up better in one combined post. In half, they look to be around average size. I think.)
Brook Lane, Kendra's Room
Kendra was busy chatting with her friends on Facebook, and setting up for her blog. She just could not find her notebook for her script and notes. She opened her drawer and noticed the key. The key she was given by an unknown person. She looked at it and touched it. It was cold, and detailed. Kendra just picked it up and grasped it firmly. "Ugh, this is just a stupid hoax. There is no such thing as a Flipside whatever." She threw it back into the drawer and continued to blog.
8:00 pm
Kendra could not focus. She was thinking about the key. Why was she thinking of something so stupid and obviously a scam. But curiosity got the best of her. "Kenni, you okay?" Her friend Molly echoed from her computer. Kendra nodded. "Hey, did you ever hear of a scam where you get a key and an invitation to this thing called Flipside?"
"What? that sounds soo stupid. No, never." Kendra took the key out of her drawer and showed it to her webcam.
"Ooh, its pretty. What does it go to."
Kendra looked at the key and then back at her webcam. "I dont know, I mean it said open any door. I think its like a skeleton key."
Molly shuddered. "Ew, I saw that movie with Conner last week."
"You were with Conner last week?"
"Yeahh, Oh emm gee, he was such a cutie, with his hair short cut, and his jeans and his shirt. mmm, he was sexy."
Kendra laughed. "I told you about him though, be careful. Okay, how about I go through my closet, and you watch me go through it."
"Yeah, This i gotta see, you go into your closet and come out. Its okay I love you no matter what you prefer."
"Shut up, Bitch." Kendra got up and walked over to the closet, the key in hand. She lifted it up to the key hole and then looked at the webcam
"Wish me luck." Kendra turned and placed the key in the hole. the hole emitted a light, causing Kendra to widen her eyes. Molly tried to see what was going on. "Kendra? What is that?"
Kendra ignored her, the light was attracting her attention. She turned it and all she could remember is Molly's voice, a bright light as she opened the door and then, darkness.
Kendra Opened her eyes,  her vision blurred, and her head in a daze. She felt cold stone on her back as she stood upright and looked around. Where was she? There were many new people she didn't recognize. she got up, her body aching as she walked toward something that caught her interest, the Large TV of a suited man commentating on two fighters. "What the hell is this?" She took out her phone to take a picture, but she noticed her phone was off. She gasped. She never had her phone off. Never in her life has her phone died or anything. Now she is pissed. She stormed over to the Colosseum To find out this hellhole, with no WiFi and to give whoever took her a peace of her mind.
~Friday, 6:30 PM~
Dominic watched as the light of day vanished. It was nearing the beginning of winter so a relatively early night was to be expected. "Flipside here I come" He turned around, having gone outside, and walked back towards his door. He put the key in the lock and stood there in anticipation. He smirked and turned the key. Suddenly his vision went black. "Wake up!" His eyes snapped open at hearing the words. He stood up "It worked..." He thought as he stood up. Dominic looked around and figured he was in an arena of some sort. Which made sense considering the message and the key. He didn't see anyone nearby so the voice was obviously in his head. "I hope this isn't a dream. That would be boring.." He walked around to find out where he was exactly. Deciding to play it safe he moved with the crowd, and found himself a seat. The people, when he looked at them, were very odd and strange. This wasn't a dream after all and it brought a smirk to Dominic's face. He knew this was going to be fun, whatever it was.
Amelia had eaten dinner with Mya since their mother had not yet returned. She wouldn't be home for another four hours, and it was Friday, anyway. She snuck into the hall with the key in her tightly closed palm and went to the hallway closet. She fit the key inside and twisted it, but hesitated. Before she could pull back she felt something come over her and she was out in an instant.
-= 6:39 + Flip-side World Thing =-
She rubbed her eyes, adjusting them to the light as she heard the man speaking. The note flashed into her mind, and she opened her mouth. "What the fuck!?" Was her only comment, but she slowly made her way towards the auditorium looking thing. She took a seat next to the end of one of the aisles. She began to hum to take her mind off everything, and she turned to who she was sitting next to. She jumped a little when she saw him, and she tried her best to speak. However her jaw simply hung open, and she stared at the odd looking person beside her.
He turned to her, smirked, and introduced himself. "They call me Benji, kiddo. You?" He spoke calmly and it made Amelia hesitate. "Amelia.. Nice to m-meet you!"
After this they didn't say much. She was tempted to ask him about where the hell she was but she figured she'd see soon enough... Or so she hoped.
~Friday, Flipside 6:40~
"So, what is everyone waiting for?" Trey asked Tauren, noticing that the stadium was getting fuller and fuller by the minute.
"We're waiting to see who's gonna be in tonight's first fight," Taurent replied, his eyes affixed on the empty space at the top of the Colosseum.
All of a sudden, It became dark in the stands, the center of the stadium being illuminated, as four holographic screens appeared in the empty area that Tauren was gazing at. The denizens cheered as the masked man appeared on the screens. "Greetings, everyone, to Flipside Colosseum! Tonight we'll kick things off with a splendid event!" As the man said this, two spotlights illuminated opposite ends of what Trey presumed to be the fighting grounds. "Our first contender: the ripping sounds of his arm saws strike fear into his prey, Kreios!" Under one of the spotlights emerged a very well-built man with a shaved head in a tanktop, jeans, along with half an old-style goalie mask covering the bottom of his face showboating to the crowd. Upon closer inspection, as zoomed in by the holographic monitors, Trey noticed what seemed to be chainsaw blades running under his arms and over his knuckles. Must be one of those oddities, he thought to himself. The crowd continued to cheer as the masked man's voice rang through the crowd once more. "And his opponent: the sweet but deadly face you all know and love, Shugra!" Under the other spotlight emerged a kid who seemed to be no older than twelve, even the big screen showed it, though the kid did have some strange markings on his skin.
Trey couldn't believe his eyes. That child was just sentenced to death. "He's gonna get massacred!" he exclaimed.
"Shut up and pay attention." a voice called out. Trey looked around to see who it was, assuming it was someone behind him that was listening to his distress. Taking a deep breath, Trey looked intently at the "splendid" event that was about to occur.
~=Thursday 4 PM, Jefferson Street, Baltimora=~
Jane and her partner Jeff where coasting down the street in their shiny new patrol car. That was a particularly nice day, the sun was out, the streets where quiet and Jane couldn't help but pop out a cigarette as a reward for the good job at keeping her city safe.
"Do you mind?" Said sternly yet with a playful grin her partner just when she was taking the first blow. It was Jeff's little game whenever Jane smoked in the car. This time she was so damn near to wedge the lit cigarette in his eye.
"Dude c'mon! I'll keep my hand out, alright?" Jane said annoyed while taking a blow.
"But that wouldn't stop the slow death of your lun-HEY! *Coff* Coff!!*" Jane giggled gleefully as she blowed smoke on her partner's face althrough he wasn't amused the least.
"When I get home I'm gonna smoke so many cigarettes! Just to show you!" She said with a playful grin while Jeff rolled his eyes.
"Besides, what about that Flipside-thinghie you got in the mail?" Asked her partner while opening the window for some fresh air.
"Oh that? Well, it was just a key" Said Jane whith an ironic smile.
"Really? Geez what a let down!" Laughed Jeff.
"I know right? For a moment I thought it was a ticket for a great adventure or something!"
The two cops coasted while laughing merrily, while the day was soon becoming dusk.
~=Friday, 6:40, Somewhere in Flipside=~
"Wake up!"
Jane had some serious hangovers in her past, but this one beated all of them hands down. She was confused, and quite frightened, anything around her wasn't familiar. It clearly wasn't her appartment, nor it felt like she was in Baltimora anymore, it was some sort of auditorium but devoid of any seats or furniture.
"Hey is anyone here?" she yelled, only for her voice to be swallowed by silence.
She rushed for the nearest door and ran through some stairs, but when she finally got on the streets a spectacle beyond surreal laid before her.
A monumental colosseum-like building, dotted with tv screens was at the center of the plaza, with strange people that seemed like to be ripped off a fantasy comic book were rushing to see whatever the event was.
A young woman with at ears was merrily skipping while humming and Jane approached her, hoping that she could tell her what was going on.
"Excuse me, ma'am, wait!" The catwoman turned to face Jane with an inquisitive look in her feline eyes.
"Wait ma'am, I-I'm Officer Morgensen, Baltimora PD" She said while fishing her badge and showing it to her, the catwoman seemed to be mesmerized by the shiny looking thing. "Where am I?"
The catgirl smiled gingerly and giggled a bit "Why, you are in Flipside stranger! Are you here for the main even too? Come, it's something you really must see when you come to Flipside" She grabbed Jane by the wrist and dragged her inside the colosseum, even if the policewoman was confused and against it.
"Wait! I-I don't even know your name!" she asked while feeling unconfortable among the many weird monsters and animal people around here.
"Oh, name's Felicia, pleased to meet ya Officer Morgensen, oh! Do you mind if I call you Offi?" She said with a giggle while paying the ticket for the two of them.
"Well, officer is not a name is a titl-Offf!" She was again dragged by Felicia until they found some good seats beside an hulking bull-man and what seemingly was a normal looking human ( @Flip Jester Boy).
"Howdy! Did we missed something" Felicia asked to the bullman.
(Oh I hope this isn't to late.)
:Friday 3:30pm, somewhere in Japan:
Krystal walked out of the busy shop he had been in. He carried a bag full of random art supplies. Paint, pencils, pens. The normal things an artist would need. "Geez, my.projects due in two days... I can't believe this." He sighed heavily as he turned a corner remembering how his friends cat had spilled glitter all over his poster. "I'm gonna kill Marcus."
:3:50pm:
Krystal Sat the bag on the sidewalk outside his apartment. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his Keys fiddling with them. After a few minutes he found the one he was looking for. He slid the key into the lock and unlocked it opening the door. He picked up his bag and walked in slowly. "Marcus, I swear if that cat is in here again I'm gonna hurt you." He yelled as he turned re-locking the door.
"No worried chika, mom took her for the weekend." A voice yelled back from somewhere in the apartment. "There's a package for you in your room."
"Yeah yeah yeah." Krystal sighed and walked to his room. He opened the door and walked in throwing his bag on his bed. He then looked at his desk and the strange package. He opened it slowly and took out the small card reading it. "Flipside huh? Sounds like a joke." He said throwing the card on the desk and retrieving the key from the box. "I guess I'll find out later.
:Friday, 6:45pm:
Krystal sighed as he stood up looking at the poster he had just spent the last few hours on. "Not bad." He said softly as he popped his back. Just then his watch started to beep. He clicked it off and looked at his door. "I must be crazy." He then slid the key into the lock of his bedroom door turning it. He passed out only seconds later.
:Friday, 6:45pm, flipside:
Krystal woke up to a loud screaming coming from overhead. He looked around him seeing strange people with odd little characteristics. "I don't remember going to a sci-fi con, where am I?" He got up slowly brushing the dirt from his legs. "This definitely isn't home..." As he looked around more he saw.the people heading for a big building and decided to follow them.
"You didn't miss anything," Tauren said in reply to the cat girl. "In fact, the fight's about to begin!"
"Alright, folks, lets kick things off by selecting the playing field!" the masked man announced through a PA system as the four screens showed a roulette of several different images, each representing a different stage. The images slowed down their pace as they landed on an image of a bronish stone. "Looks like the stage is gonna be Stone Quarry!" The crowd cheered as wire-frame rocks and boulders appeared as they turned into seemingly real versions just like magic.
Trey was amazed at the technology used in this place. "How did they do that?" he asked Tauren.
"Well, kid, they call it Real Solid Vision. The stadium creates extremely realistic visual effects and obsticals to the point where they can be interacted with and manipulated by the fighters."
Trey watched the screens, which then depicted the two competitors, the child and the man, on opposite sides of the screen with a line down the middle. Good luck, kid, he thought to himself.
"He won't need it." the same voice from earlier mentioned. Trey could hear it clearly, even with the cheering crowds.
School dorms
She excitedly took out the old looking key and stuffed it into a safe's lock. It spun easily with a click... which was the last thing she was conscious of before blackness overtook her.
Flipside
"Wha--?" Her head felt kind of strange as Aralyn awoke in the middle of a crowded street. Not a block away was a large building. It reminded her of a Colosseum, except they evidently had more advanced technology because there were giant electronic panels. The screens were broadcasting some kind of Fight Club-like scene except... did that guy have chain saws in his arm??? Now the girl was majorly confused. Did she hit her head too hard or...? WAS SHE ACTUALLY IN A FANTASY BATTLE SITUATION...! The now-ditzy redhead nearly squealed with excitement. It. was. real. She took in the varied peoples walking around her and spotted a lizard-man, an alien, and a person with completely black eyes. Weeeiiiirrrdd... she took out her cell wanting to contact her friend but the screen remained black. Bummer. Well, she'd just have to tell Linnie, Johnson and Gabriel after she returned from her mini vacay!
She was very excited. This was such a nice break from the monotony of schoolwork and the endless wait for the weekend. Hopefully there was some kind of time difference here so she could conveniently return back around the same time she left. Now wouldn't that be great? But wait. This was more likely an effect of... a drug? A hallucination? A dream? She considered all those options then pinched herself. "Ow!" It hurt. So no... it couldn't be a dream. She wasn't high, or at least she didn't think so. And hallucinations surely weren't this detailed! There were far more species than her brain could invent.
Following the crowds seemed like the best move, and everyone was heading towards the arena, so she followed them. As she was nearly in a man in official-looking garb stopped her. "Ticket?" he growled. His skin looked to be striped like a tiger. Aralyn blinked and looked away.
"Er..."
"No ticket, no entry."
"Will this do the trick?" She lifted the key to eye level while waiting with bated breath.
"In that case... welcome." Sweet! Free seats! Excitedly, she went up the rows looking for an empty seat. There was one near a surprisingly human-looking police officer ( @Aardwolf ) and boy ( @Flip Jester Boy ). Before anyone else could claim the seat Aralyn plopped herself down near to the officer. "Howdy officer!" she said in a bright tone.
Amelia sat, listening to the man speak and watching in awe as the scenery changed. She thought about what Mya was doing, about why she was here, and about why everyone looked so bloody strange! Her eyes fluttered around and she felt like passing out because of the huge crowd, but she kept her eyes open in awe. After a moment she whispered to the odd looking person- thing- beside her. "Um- How- How did that s-scenery cha-ange?! T-That's so- amazing!" She tried to avoid looking at him, being polite to not stare.
"Ah, it's this thing. 'Real Solid Vision..' I think they call it, it's cool right?"
As he spoke she got the vibe that he was not much older than her, he just looked much older. "And- you-.." She stopped, trying to figure out how to ask him why he looked- not-humanly. "We all look crazy here, kiddo." He quickly said, flicking his hand on her head and moving one of her cat ears. Amy flinched in surprise, feeling the ears on her head. They felt like a cats, and she played with them. She heard Benji laugh as she did this, and quickly stopped, trying to save herself. They sat quietly the rest of the time, and she wondered if she could lay on the empty seat next to her to avoid someone else sitting next to her.
Three.
The countdown begun. The sound of Kreios' chainsaw blades could be heard throughout the hushed stadium, the spectators of which anticipated the start of the fight.
Two.
Shugra put his palms together, conjuring four floating metallic spheres, each glowing a bright light blue, which hovered around their creator.
One.
The two combatants got into their ready positions, able to see their opponent through gaps in the rocks.
FIGHT! A loud horn rang through the stadium as Kreios took the first move, charging at Shugra in a flat-out sprint. As his opponent quickly closed in, Shugra performed some somatic movements with his arms, causing two of the orbitars to shift their blue light into shield-like fields, just in time to block Kreios' initial assault. Kreios' blades revved as they collided with the force fields, creating bright sparks as he swung his arms along them, trying to break through. As the shields slowly began to shift colors to something akin to teal, Shugra then retaliated when his remaining two orbitars shifted into arrowhead-like shapes, their blue light focused on the end tips as they fired lasers at their oppresor, grazing Kreios' arms and causing him to leap back to dodge the attacks. Shugra then put on the offensive as Kreios did his best to deflect the shots with his blades. Kreios took cover behind a rock as the assault never ceased until there was an absence of the sound of lasers being fired. Thinking his opponent ran out of juice, Kreios leapt over the rock with a battle cry, only to be shot down by all four of Shugra's orbitals. Soon burn marks covered the body of Kreios as he fell to his knees, unconscious and defeated.
"AND THE WINNER IS SHUGRA!!!!" The masked man announced through the PA system as the crowd roared in a symphony of cheers. Trey couldn't believe his own eyes. The one who he thought was the underdog, who was now basking in the glory of his victory, was instead the one who outmatched the opponent.
Krystal managed to make his way into the colosseum just as the battle began. He sat up high in the back rows examining the two fighters. "Oh my God oh my God oh my God. This is so freaking cool!" He screamed as he jumped up and down watching shugra closely. "I wonder how they did that? Is it some kind of new VR tech?" His.smile stretched from ear to ear as he saw kreios get knocked to the ground. "Wow the little ones really strong." He leaned forward over the row.in front of him. His eyes then shifted noticing another person who, in this world anyways, seemed as out of place as he felt. He giggled a little as he saw the boy. "Not half bad, I guess I wasn't the only one who got a key." He then got up and slowly began to walk towards the boy.
(I don't know how to do the tag thing but I'm supposed to.be walking toward flip.)
~Friday, Flipside 7:10~
The battle could be called violently aggressive, but that would have insulted the smaller contender. Nakano watched the battle in amazement, fixed with shear awe at what transpired on that field. First, the entire field was converted into a stone battleground. That alone was enough to leave him stunned, but what happened next almost made him question his sanity. His eyes focused in on the smooth arc of Kreios' chainsaw blades as they slid across the forcefield, showering him in the sparks he had created. He had leapt back, immediately met with what appeared to be working dual lasers. He knew the poor guy was finished as soon as he jumped out from behind the rock. As expected, Kreios was shot down before he even made it all the way over the rock. Nakano really felt sorry for him. The man lay on the ground, thin streams of smoke billowing from his charred body. Nakano shuddered.
The battle was over before it started, really. It was evident that chainsaws were enormously outmatch by a combination of four laser beams. Just then he heard the winner being announced over the speakers. So, the kid's name was Shugra? The kid quickly established himself as one of the veterans of this game, or at the very least a dangerous natural. Nakano could swear he felt cold sweat on the back of his neck. Where he came from, the chainsaw won against a simple laser any day of the week. Apparently this wasn't the case wherever he was now. Then again, the only lasers Nakano knew of were the laser pointers his history teacher loved to use on the world map in his classroom. Not much of a laser. Battle having finished, he looked around the Colosseum, trying to figure out what happened next. He was beyond thinking the situation was ridiculous. He was way too deep into this to go into denial.
Flipside
Kendra was transfixed to the fight displayed on the Big screen. First impressions in her mind ran through her face.
Holy shit, he has chainsaws on his hands! What is going on? Who in the hell  puts chainsaws on their hands? And he is going up against this kid, oh no, no no, who funds this to see someone get massacred. If my phone was working, i would call the police,"
She watched the climactic battle, She gasped at the close calls, she even covered her eyes at the terrifying moments. "is it over?"
"THE WINNER IS SHUGRA!"
She opened her eyes, and saw the chainsaw handed man on the ground and the young kid still standing. She gasped and turned the other way, bumping into a large man.
"Whoa, you must be new. Here, let me help you get in."
Kendra shook her head. "No, no, I was just. there was a key, and in the package, and then the chainsaw guy, the-" she was in hysterics, and she couldnt speak for the first time. She was just pushed in the Colloseum as she stammered.
"AH, its okay, Darling, you will be fine."
She then screamed and ducked underneath the man before running. She held up her phone, Trying to turn it on.
"Pitiful child." She heard a masculine voice in her ear. She gasped and turned frantically, her fake glasses about to come off.  No one was around her.
"If you paid attention, no one is acting like a baby, like you are."
Kendra fixed her glasses and looked around, making sure she was not just hearing voices.
"What is going on?"
"Go back to the Colloseum, and find out." The voice purred.
Kendra sniffled a bit and looked back at it, shaking her head at whoever was talking to her.
"Do it, Kendra."
He knew her name.
"Of course I know you, I was with you the entire time. I am you."
Kendra raised an eyebrow and shook her head. "No. I can't. I just. Cant."
The redhead winced when she saw the young child facing off against the muscular chainsaw dude. This was going to be... unsightly. "Is he crazy? Someone do something--! That kid--!"
"Shut up and keep watching. You need to see this." A shudder rolled down her spine as she heard a voice... seemingly in her head because nobody's mouth moved as far as she could see.
"W-who's talking?"
"It's me. I'm you. The name's Quelyn. I'm Quelyn, your flipside," the voice elaborated. It was strange. It sounded kind of like her but the voice was lower, huskier, and slightly more masculine although it still sounded like a female.
"That-that's crazy... wait, flipside?"
"Explanations later, fight's happening now." So she put aside her doubts about insanity and dedicated to watch the grisly show... which did turn out to be grisly, just not the way she thought. The midget kid knocked the other guy unconscious with some kind of power. Fantasy world. Individual battles. Magical powers... what was next on the schedule?
"Wild," Trey mouthed, smirking a little. He actually enjoyed watching the fight, feeling the rush of adrenaline pump inside him as he watched. Trey then turned to Tauren, asking, "By the way, who's that masked man on the screen?"
"The masked man? Oh, his name is Starr. He's one of Flipside's announcers alongside McCartney, Lennon, and Harrison." Tauren responded. Starr's voice could be heard once again over the PA system.
"Well, wasn't that a wonderful fight, everyone? Now, the second fight will begin momentarily, so please be patient while we reset the stage and pick our next two competitors!"
I wonder who it'll be for the next fight, Trey thought to himself, not noticing the hand gripping his shoulder.
"It's time," a voice whispered into his ear, teleporting him into what seemed to be a preparation room.
"What the? Where am I?" Trey turned to see a man with white make-up and a scar in the shape of a star above his left eye. The man was also dressed in an eccentric suit and top hat.
The man bowed before Trey, saying, "I am Lennon. I have been informed that you were chosen to take part in the second fight, so I was to retrieve you." Lennon's voice sounded more mature than Starr's.
"Are you kidding me? I'll die out there. I don't have any special powers or anything."
"Who said it had to be you fighting?"
Trey then felt light-headed, blacking out before his body caught itself. It looked in the mirror, but instead of Trey's white hair and red eyes, there was black hair and blue eyes instead.
"Finally.What the? Why don't I have control of my body? "It's because I'm using it for the fight.Using it for the fight? Who are you, and how are you using my body? "My name's Sheath. I'm your flipside. Just be happy you don't have to hurt yourself fighting.Hey, I've been in fights before, I know how to handle myself. "You've seen what these people can do. You won't last one minute without my power." Alright, well, I leave my body in your hands then. Just make sure you don't lose. I hate losing. "Then we agree."
Meanwhile, a man with teal-colored hair appeared behind Amelia. "Come with me, most valuable princess!" he said as he took Amelia's hand, teleporting himself and her to an empty preparation room.
