That One Fear In My Enemy's Eyes

Location: Open Space

Through the vast and endless void of space a single space pod flew silently, albeit rapidly, towards a new and as yet undisclosed destination.

Seated inside in an induced comatose state supported by state of the art life-support systems was a single crimson haired female warrior. Her posture was upright, her arms crossed, her face calm, and her mind in a state of perpetual serenity during her journey. The new systems allowed her body to enter a state of suspended animation, allowing her to travel vast distances through the universe without aging or losing any existing health, strength, or stamina which she'd gained until this point. It was a miraculous feat of bio-engineering to be able to so perfectly preserve a being without the use of liquids or freezing temperatures, courtesy of a humanoid race known as the Tuffles.

Her name... Valkyrie Urzen, or "Val" for short.

She is a Saiyan warrior, proud and confident and occupying the lower echelon of the Elite Class within her race. The strongest of Saiyans held what were known as "power levels," numerical representations of one's raw energy output, in the range of around 18,000-20,000. Valkyrie's power was 12,860, making her a formidable warrior in her own right. While not the most powerful female Saiyan in existence, she was a contender for the title.

Her destination... Planet XK-02B, known to her kind as Planet Zsuriin.

It was a neutral world with sentient beings for its native population who looked like a strange mixture of humanoid reptilians. They had a relatively humanoid shape, but their bodies were covered in rough scales which doubled both as armor and, in some cases, weapons. They also had long tails as well and their mouths were incapable of inter-galactic (IG) speech because of the solid shape of their jaws. Without lips, they couldn't form the IG tongue's vowels and consonants, and were forced to use an interpreter to communicate with people from other races like Valkyrie.

Her reason for coming to this world was simple: They'd requested aid.

The native population was being threatened by an invasive force of inter-planetary pirates, none of whom held power levels above 8,000. But the natives only had power levels in the triple digits, so they could not defend themselves against the invaders. As an allied race to the Saiyans, Valkyrie was deemed sufficient to quell the threat.

A warning alarm began sound, and the life-support systems slowly began to power down as Valkyrie was roused from her catatonic state. Her eyes fluttered open and she cracked her neck first to the left side, then the right. She reached over and turned off the alarm, looking out the front of her pod's window to see Planet Zsuriin taking up her field of view.

The corners of her mouth curled in a smile as she pressed a button forcing her pod into the final stage of descend from the atmosphere. The pod was engulfed in red light as it began streaking through the planet's atmosphere gathering tremendous heat and speed. As it broke through, it cooled and she slowed it down to land safely in an open area away from civilization.

However her approach had not gone unnoticed. The small group of planetary pirates had already taken over native's primary nation and knew of her arrival. Having prepared themselves the moment her ship was detected, it didn't take long for the entire group to find their way to her position as she stepped out of her pod.

Valkyrie was different from normal Saiyans in the respect that she opted not to wear armor. Instead, she wore light but durable fabrics giving her compete freedom of movement while at the same time making her look more like a regular human from Earth than a Saiyan due to the fact that her tail was tucked around her waist and hidden beneath her clothing.

The invaders were a group of non-humanoids, as she now had seen. They were quadrupedal in their general posture and very insectoid in appearance. They had four front arms and two rear legs, each one jointed and covered in natural armor plating. None of them had tails, nor wings, but they knew how to control their Ki to fly all the same. Their faces looked almost like those of giant praying mantises, but their arms all held normal insectoid-like feet instead of any kind of claws or hands.

She glared at the invaders, numbering about 50 or so, as they floated in the sky above her. They weren't speaking, and neither was she. There were no words to be said. She was here to either force them to abandon the planet, or die.

"I will give you this chance to leave this planet peacefully. You cannot defeat me, even with your numbers as they are. If you do not leave, I will be forced to destroy you." She said in a loud, clear voice.

The invaders obviously understood the IG tongue though they didn't seem to have mouths which could form the same kinds of words. They uttered strange clicking noises and almost gurgling-like sounds instead. Val's upper lip curled in disgust at the sounds, and she took in a deep breath as she let it out slowly and softly through her teeth to slow her heart rate.

Obviously they didn't care to go quietly, so it was time for Valkyrie to do things the hard way.

She took her stance, and the invaders all began to power up and prepare for battle. Val, already being at full power, simply smiled at their display. Her Scouter read their power levels very clearly, and the only one worth worrying about had a power of 8,454. The rest were all below 6,000 and would make for fairly easy pickings.

The small horde of enemies began descending on her, and she dug her feet into the ground and readied herself for her counterattack.

"Have ya heard the rumors of who could be hiding on this sorry as hell planet?" an saiyan in very damged armor said to a squid looking alein sitting next to him. "Theres thousands of outlaws hiding here, inlcuding us. Why they hell would I care for the one your talking about?" The collar around one of the squid's tentacles said. "Well you should, they say its the Frost Demon Pyro..." After the sayain said that the room went quiet fast...

Meanwhile on the Vortex which was parked in one of the many deserts on the planet, Pyro was sitting in his room listening to some classical music and drink some fine wine. "A well deserved break after that last raid on that spaceship. The human may not be powerful but they can craft a nice bottle of wine" Pyro said as he slirled the wine in his glass.

Then a large explosion went off right next to the ship. "... And like that the breaks over and soon a worm will go to hell" Pyro said finishing his wine before walking at his room calmly. His crew was running all around the ship in a panic as the alarm went off. Pyro stopped on of the crew and asked "Whats going on?". "Sir there a large band of bounty hunters shooting our ship, we are prepare to escape..." But before the crewmember could finished Pyro already headed to the exit.

Outside sveral diffrnt ruff looking aliens were blasting the ship, including a squid and saiyan. "I think there going to run, those ahhhhh" The squids the collar said before it got complete blow up by pyro when he exited the ship. "We will be leaveing, after you all die. But im a nice alien so Ill give five seconds to run" Pryo said walking slowly to bountyhunters. Some hunter flew away quickly, some stayed still in fear and a couple charged at pyro.

"5...4...3...2...Die." Pyro said opening his palm and pointed it at the crowd. "Black Death cannon" Pyro said before a large shooting a beam at the center of crowd that created a large explosion. A large dust cloud was created from the explosion before.

After the dust cleared there was a large hole and several died bodys around it. The Saiyan was trying to crawl away. "Sorry, but you did have five seconds" Pyro said appearing infront of him and pointed his finger at him...

An explosion rocked the planet as the mob of fighters descended upon Valkyrie. Her aura flared about her wildly like a raging inferno and like a bolt of lightning she raced through the skies striking enemy after enemy without mercy. The first blow saw her fist pierce straight through the stomach and the out back breaking the spine on its way. The second saw a similar fate, but this time through the middle of the chest and through his ribcage and heart. The third was decapitated by a blow to the base of the neck taking the entire head clean off and leaving it in tact as it stared shocked at its killer.

One by one they fell to her might as she arced through the air at incredible speed. To any mere being without significant power, this would have seemed like a dream with enemies just dropping dead by divine intervention. But to the one watching with a power of 8,000, it was as clear as day. The odd thing was that as Valkyrie systematically destroyed its subordinates, it simply watched.

It took only a single minute for the 49 others to fall to the ground, their bodies broken and maimed beyond recognition.

Valkyrie looked up at her new opponent who floated there calmly watching her as if it wasn't in the least bit frightened.

"Do you still intend to face me?" She asked.

The creature floated down to stand before her. Her Scouter read 8,000. But again she felt it was a ruse. This one was stronger than the others. Just looking at it she could tell. But by how much?

She waited patiently for it to make a move.

Pyro walked back onto his ship leaving behind several bodies of foolish bounty hunter. "A place to relax for a few days is all I ask and yet all I get are foolish hunter who can't even put up a good fight" Pyro complained as he headed back to his room. "Sir we are preparing to launch off world soon. Were should we be heading to next" one of the crew member said running up to Pyro.
"Sense every time a try to just hide on a planet we get found by bounty hunters, we are go to take planet over and cut off the communications on it." Pryo said smirking. "And I know just the one..."
The ship then started heading into more unexplored part of the galaxy to a planet with little no information of the locals. Because of the dominate race lack of communication with other planet it would be easy to cut off communications without raising curiosity.
The trip to the planet would take a few days. Pyro headed to his room for some relaxation and comfort. In a few minutes he was in his chair relaxing listening to classical music and drinking some nice wine.

Sayle was rushing down a crowded street, large brown cloak hiding his form. He was weaving skillfully and smoothly between people, apparently in a hurry to get somewhere. In reality, he didn't really have anywhere to be. He just preferred to have things done quickly. He was heading back to his hideaway, or rather, his hideaway on this planet. He was about a half a click away from it when he felt a hand press against his cloaked back. Rather, the hand shoved him. He stumbled forward a moment before a powerful voice commanded him not to move. He could feel the heat of a small ball of ki near his cloak, threatening to light it. Slowly, his arm, still hidden by the cloak, began to stretch. It reached the bottom of the cloak before shooting out and grabbing the source of the voice's ankle, knocking him off his feet.

While the man fell with a shout, Sayle dashed forward just in time for a small form to launch a jumping kick past him. Spinning on the heel of his foot, Sayle faced his attackers. He was met with a small band of what he could only assume were mercenaries. They couldn't be muggers or a petty gang. They all had expensive looking armor. Sayle's hands began to glow a pale white color as he started to channel ki. He examined the gang of attackers. The leader, the one with the powerful voice was a Saiyan. He was massive, much taller than Sayle, and had a bald head with square features. His scouter read a power level of ten thousand. That was nearly double his own power. He doubted he'd be able to best him alone. Thankfully, the other attackers had significantly lower levels of strength. The small one who had attacked him was a diminutive Saiyan, who had a power level of about three thousand. He had long black hair, and thin features, which seemed to be a common appearance among Saiyans. He couldn't have been taller than five and a half feet. Another was a Namekian who weighed in at two thousand. He was nothing special, other than the sword strapped to his back. Sayle would have to keep an eye out for that one. Even if his power was a third of Sayle's, that sword could prove dangerous. The other two unsettled Sayle slightly. They were two Saiyans that were completely identical. They wore the same robe and armor combination, both had equal length long straight black hair, and pale white skin. They both were glaring at Sayle with an unnerving intensity. They both also possessed an equal power level of five thousand.

As he examined them, both staring each other down, Sayle spoke, "What do you want from me?"

The massive Saiyan replied in the same powerful voice he'd commanded Sayle with earlier, "Your head on a pike, thief."

Sayle's eyes widened as he realized they knew about him. He ground his teeth as he slipped his cloak off his shoulders. Looking around, he made sure nobody was watching. He was currently in a largely abandoned part of this city. Nobody was around for miles save the homeless or petty criminals. Sayle felt slightly guilty about what he was about to do, but he couldn't afford to let these people go. They recognized him. They were a massive threat. He put forward a hand and gave the universal sign for "Bring it" as he lowered himself into a fighting stance.

The first to attack was the smallest of the group. The Saiyan launched himself at Sayle with a jumping punch. Sayle turned his head and avoided it, reaching up grabbing the man's ankle as he flew past, throwing him at the advancing Namekian, who already had his sword drawn. The Namekian slowed as he avoided his sprawling team mate. Meanwhile, the leader was upon him, and Sayle found it nearly impossible to avoid him. Massive muscled limbs swung around just inches from his head. Sayle launched out a kick as hard as he could at the massive man's leg, causing him to lose his footing for just a moment, which was all he needed. His hand, still coated in hot white ki, shot out and started to eat through the man's armor, disintegrating it as he touched it. A solid hole was quickly burnt through the armor, a pink burn the size of Sayle's hand covering the massive man's chest. The man, seemingly angered by being hurt by someone who's power was so inferior to his own, responded by slamming his fist up into Sayle's jaw, sending him sailing into the air. Sayle was struggling to right himself, feeling light headed. Instead of righting himself in the air, Sayle let himself fall to the ground, landing just in time to dodge a blow from the Namekian. The weakest of the group was surprisingly fast, Sayle having just barely enough time to dodge each blow. As the Namek took a stab at him, Sayle ducked low and drove his elbow up into the Namekian's ribs. The Namekian stumbled away, struggling to catch his breath. Sayle's arm stretched and grabbed the man by his sword arm, dragging him roughly forward only for him to receive another blow to the stomach and a round house kick to the jaw, sending him stumbling away, dropping his weapon. Sayle's arm stretched once more to retrieve it. He turned and took a swing at the short Saiyan, who dodged it swiftly. He swung at the Saiyan again, this time with an open palm. The blow missed, and Sayle's arm stretched out at an impossible angle, bending elastically to smack the Saiyan on the other side of the face. The Saiyan, stunned, didn't realize until it was too late that Sayle was taking a stab at him with his stolen blade.

The battle seemed to fall still as the Saiyan fell, sword still embedded in his gut. The leader stopped his charge, as did the twins, who hadn't moved to engage until that point. The Namekian seemed awestruck as his companion fell by his own blade. The only movement was Sayle retrieving the blade, as well as the sniper on a nearby rooftop pulling the trigger on his rifle, or rather, his arm. A ball of compressed ki the size of a fist slammed into Sayle's back, sending him forward into the waiting arms of the twin Saiyans. Taking advantage of Sayle being caught off guard, one slammed his knee into Sayle's gut, the other jumping in a perfectly coordinated attack and sending his heel into Sayle's jaw, very nearly breaking it. The two continued to wail on Sayle for half a minute in a perfectly coordinated fighting style. Sayle tried to recover by taking a sloppy swing with his sword. The attack whiffed completely, but slowed their assault down just long enough for Sayle to take aim at one of them and release a large ball of ki, which exploded against the Saiyan's gut and sent him stumbling back, his clothing burnt. With a sudden burst of energy, Sayle channeled energy into his palm, and it took the form of a small pointed spear extending off the flat of his hand. Flying into the air, Sayle turned and launched the spear at the sniper, who he noticed was some kind of hybrid of Tuffle and machine. The Tuffle had no time to react, the spear of white energy piercing his heart, killing him immediately. As the attack dissipated, a fist sized hole was left in the Tuffle's corpse. Sayle turned back towards his remaining attackers, who had since regrouped and were all staring at him, a mixture of mourning and rage in their eyes.

The two twins were the first to react, rushing forward in unison toward Sayle. Dropping his sword, Sayle let both his hands glow with the same burning technique he used to melt through their leader's armor. They attacked in that same coordinated style they had used earlier, pushing Sayle to his limit to try and defend. The trio exchanged punches, kicks, and jabs for what felt like hours, each taking their fair share of damage. Sayle had just barely avoided a kick to the stomach when he launched out a weak wave of explosive ki, forcing both of them to retreat. Taking just a fraction of a second to catch his breath before they charged once more, Sayle launched his palm out toward one of the advancing twins, his palm slamming into his forehead and stopping him abruptly. Apparently not fully understanding what happened, the other Saiyan continued to charge, but glanced back long enough to check on his brother. The second he took to glance at his brother was all Sayle needed to regain the advantage. He slammed a fist into the distracted Saiyan's windpipe, crushing it. Just to finish him, Sayle spun and slammed the back of his fist into the Saiyan's jaw, sending his corpse tumbling away from the Namekian. This enraged the remaining twin, who tried to charge, only to be blocked by their leader. He made some sort of hand sign, and immediately the Namekian started to fly away. Reluctantly, the Saiyan followed.

Their leader turned back towards Sayle. It was then that he noticed the leader's lack of scouter. Meaning he had no way of knowing how inferior Sayle's power actually was. He stared at Sayle for what felt like an eternity with a mix of anger, sadness, and what seemed like fear in his eyes. Speaking with barely restrained anger, he addressed Sayle, "Levy, Adam, and Nobu." He said, gesturing towards the direction the Namekian flew off in, then the Saiyan, then himself, "Remember our names..."

The threat hung in the air as the massive Saiyan launched himself into the air after his companions. Sayle would have pursued, due to the fact that they knew who he was, however, as soon as Nobu was out of sight, all the energy and adrenaline Sayle had possessed just moments ago left him almost spontaneously. He found himself suddenly hit with the pain from the dozens of bruises and cuts covering his body, and the burn mark from where the Tuffle had shot him. It was almost too difficult to stand. He doubted he'd make it back to his hideaway, not that he thought it hadn't been compromised. He stumbled into a nearby building and sat against the hard stone wall, trying to regain his bearings. The encounter had told him something important, however. Somebody knew who he was, and that fact worried him greatly.

Valkyrie was rather surprised by the speed of the alien creature's opening attack.

She just barely managed to catch it, stopping it only a few inches from her face. Her eyes were wide with surprise, and the creature knew it held a psychological advantage in that moment and took full advantage of it. With her mind in a momentary state of surprise, she wasn't prepared for its next strike in which it grabbed hold of the wrist which she'd used to stop his attack and pulled her in to knee her in the stomach. The blow knocked the wind from her lungs as she doubled forward, and it began swinging her around by her arm before letting go and watching her fly into a nearby hillside.

Valkyrie disappeared into the hill sending a small amount of rubble and debris around the premises, and the creature floated into the air to wait for her to reappear as it was obviously a seasoned fighter and knew that she couldn't possibly be defeated by such an attack.

She opened her eyes in darkness beneath the rubble of the hill and her jaw clenched.

Bastard... She thought.

She took in a deep breath, and as she let it out she flared her aura which destroyed the hillside around her. Standing up from the rubble with her blazing red aura whipping about around her, she floated into the sky and began prepping for one of her practiced techniques. She focused her Ki in a very specific manner which drew it away from her musculature and began positioning it behind herself. This was a means of Ki-based propulsion to rapidly increase her speed for brief times by sacrificing a bit of her durability and raw strength.

Valkyrie then bolted forward catching the creature completely off guard. In the milliseconds before she reached her objective she flooded her right fist with Ki previously used to propel her forward amplifying the force of her attack as it landed squarely on the creature's jaw. The chitin armor of the creature cracked as it was thrown backwards across the landscape for several miles skidding across the soil, rock, and water before finally slamming into the base of a mountain which had previously been in the distance during their fight.

Valkyrie chased the creature down and used her Scouter to scan for the creature's presence. The power reading had dropped dramatically with that one blow to just above 3,000, but Valkyrie wasn't convinced that the reading was entirely accurate. She had felt the creature resist her assault. She managed to overpower its defenses, but it had seen the attack coming in time to try and erect a defense. If it had been fast enough to see that attack coming and start preparing to defend itself, then it was strong enough to withstand that blow.

She floated there patiently in a guarded posture as she waited for the creature to reappear. Seconds ticked by and turned into minutes, and Valkyrie began wondering what in the world was going on down there. The power reading was still just over 3,000 even after almost 5 minutes of waiting and Valkyrie was growing impatient. Was it out cold down there? Was it hiding? Was it waiting for her to follow up?

She powered up a Ki blast in her hand and launched it at the mountain. The blast struck the face of the mountain and sent more debris and rubble everywhere, but it didn't draw out the creature. Instead, her Scouter flared with a new reading. The power level it was detecting was now growing rapidly. 4,000... 5,000... 6,000... Valkyrie was growing concerned and began charring energy for another Ki attack at maximum power, but as she did so the power was still growing. 9,000... 10,000... 11,000...

Valkyrie let loose with her Ki blast which destroyed what remained of the base of the mountain for almost 20m in all directions, but the creature managed to push through the attack and smashed into her. Its shoulder found its way to her stomach, its arms wrapped around her back, and once again the wind was knocked from her lungs. The creature flew high up into the air before flying back down and ramming her into the ground. Hard. The crater produced was over 100m wide and nearly 8m deep. It flew up into the air and began launching a barrage of Ki blasts into the ground, and when the assault was over it floated there watching and waiting.

Meanwhile, down inside the destroyed earth and rock, Valkyrie's anger was beginning to mount...

After a few days of travel the Vortex made it to its destination, the planet Margen. The planets dominate speices was a small bluish skilled humanoid races. Not very powerful with ki and havn't formed great connections with other race as of yet. Easy targets for Pyro's crew take over.

The Vortex landed in a field near to the capital of one of nations on the world. Pyro was on the made deck of ship as he pressed a button on his scouter so the whole crew could hear what he was about to say through there own. "Gentlemen this is not going to be a simple raid, we are going destroy all contact resources for off world. I want that done first and done quickly before the can evem think about using them. Then after that's, enjoy your vacation." Pyro said before calmly walking off the ship.

After walking a few feet away from the ship several space pirates flew out of the ship and splitted up in several directions. Pyro smirked as he continued to calmly walked to the capital. In a few minutes the planets military was scrambled trying to stop the pirates, with very little success.

When Pyro entered the capital were several tanks, high tech fighter planes, and some ki using soldiers waited for him. "Ohh how cute, all of you are in the higher hundreds in power levels. I'm in the tens of thousands. So do you want to surrender or do you feel like dieing" Pyro said mockingly. Then the military opened fire. Pyro chuckled alittle and aimed his palm at them...

About an half hour later Pyro was drinking some local wine givin to him by a very scared alien woman. He calmly sipped the wine on top of a towering building looking at the destroyed city around him including some flaming tanks and destroyed jets." As long aasthose moron got rid of the communication system, we'll will be golden" Pyro said to himself smiling.

The dominate race to planet were able to send one message before all communication systems were destroyed. Where it went to or who it was sent to, is unkown... For now.

The alien creature floating above in the sky gazed calmly down at the rubble beneath which Valkyrie was now laying. She was pinned down, her left arm kept in place by the several tons of rubble. She was almost sure it was at least fractured given the pain she was feeling, if not broken outright and the sensation only mitigated by the adrenaline coursing through her veins. But through a small gap in the rubble she could see the creature floating above with its arms crossed as if trying to tell her with body language that it was useless.

Her rage began to boil. She had trained her whole life to join her parents in the Elite Class caste of Saiyan warriors, and she knew that her power was nothing to scoff at. But that thing was still floating above her and looking down on her.

You'll pay for this... I swear you will. She thought.

She clenched her jaw and began to power up once more. Using her aura she blew away the rubble and launched herself at the creature with all the speed she could muster. But in her eagerness to attack she had neglected to use her Scouter to see that its power had been hovering just above 15,000, and by the time she'd reached it the creature's power had shot up to just over 18,000. Her attack was met with fierce resistance, and even though they traded blows and she got in a few good hits it was still no use. The creature took the upper hand and began bashing her about as if she were some kind of ball on the playground.

Finally, after having its fun for about a solid minute it bashed her into the ground once more. Valkyrie was down, and her power beginning to dwindle. Her left arm was now visibly broken as it was bent at the center of the forearm and she had lost the feeling in her hand. She was barely holding onto consciousness, but she could feel that there was more wrong with her body now than just her arm. A few broken ribs for certain, possibly one or two vertebrae in her back as well were at least cracked from all of the impacts with the ground.

Valkyrie heard some kind of indistinct clicking and clattering noises and realized the creature was speaking to her. She couldn't understand a single sound, but there was no mistaking the tone of its voice as it began to utter what was for it a laugh. Valkyrie's head rolled to the side as she looked up at it out of the corner of her eye. It was standing over her. Literally. One foot was on either side of her waist as it crossed its arms and laughed at her.

Valkyrie snapped.

Her pupils shrank until they were almost invisible, her jaw clenched so hard that her gums started bleeding, and she clenched her right hand so hard her nails cut through flesh.

"How... dare you..." She said through her teeth.

The creature stopped laughing, but leaned down at the waist to get a closer look with what she could only see as a smile on its face as if to say "Aw, how cute. The weakling wants to talk tough."

Valkyrie looked down at the ground as drops of blood dripped down from her mouth and spilled from her palm.

"How dare you... How dare you!... HOW DARE YOU!!!" She shrieked.

Valkyrie's aura erupted to life throwing the creature off of her and into the sky. It regained control and watched as she made it to her feet and shot a murderous glare at it. Her blood and sweat were evaporating off her flesh almost as fast as they could form from the heat of her power which was now skyrocketing. The creature didn't have a Scouter, but it didn't need one as it could sense power levels unlike Valkyrie. Her power level matched its own of 18,000 in an instant and then kept on rising. Her power shot to 21,000. 24,000. 30,000. And finally her power came to rest at, what was for Valkyrie, an outrageously intense 36,000. Thanks to her instincts and fine Ki control, she was able to use her Ki to snap her left arm back into proper position so it could be of use to her, even if only for this short time.

Valkyrie shot at the creature and slammed her fist into the area where its chitin-like armor showed a gap. The impact force of her fist cracked the armor and allowed her fist entry into and through its stomach. Continuing its push, Valkyrie felt the spinal chord snap under the weight of her attack as her fist reappeared through its lower back. She pulled her fist free and began beating the creature for all of her worth in the same manner in which it had beaten her down. She was merciless and enraged, and she would not stop. Not until she confirmed its death by her own hand.

Each blow shattered more of the creature's armor until all that remained was the softer flesh-like substance which served as its skin. Every blow to that flesh caused horrific damage ranging from instant bruising to complete destruction in which case the flesh tore itself apart under the force of her attacks. The creature began coughing out blood with each blow to its chest or stomach, presumably because that blow through its body was forcing blood out its mouth. Valkyrie slammed the creature down into the same crater it had made when she had hit the ground, and then she dive bombed it smashing her knee into its upper chest. The blow was so strong that it literally tore the top half of its body clean off the rest, sending the upper chest, shoulders, and head bouncing a few meters away while the rest of it bounced the other way.

Valkyrie breathed hard with teeth bared as her sense of consciousness came back to her. Her power level began dropping like a stone in the sea and her grip on the Ki holding her arm in lace was released causing it to bend again at the center of the forearm. She supported her broken arm with her good hand, cradling it against her stomach as she observed the creature's lifeless body in two halves and spat at it.

"Take this with you to the afterlife... Never laugh at a true Saiyan." She warned.

Valkyrie then limped across the planet for several hours to her ship, which was remarkably in near perfect condition. For all the trouble that thing had caused her, neither it nor its subordinates had thought to damage her craft. She fell into the seat and pressed the button to engage the autopilot on a return course to a massive stationary asteroid which served as her deployment base. Outpost Base Z-239. That was the designation of her base of operation from where she was deployed throughout the Galaxy.

Valkyrie put the rebreather over her face and engaged the ship's life-support system as well as its distress signal so that the doctors at Outpost Base Z-239 would now immediately that she was in need of medical attention. The moment she landed, they would be ready to receive her and place her in a rejuvenation chamber. But she was growing concerned about whether she'd even last long enough for them to do that. Her strength and consciousness were rapidly fading, and she was forced to activate the emergency life-support systems which induced a medical coma to preserve her mental state and physical condition that much more and give her the best chances for survival.

It would be another three days at maximum speed before she reached Outpost Base Z-239... Could she last?

Elprede released a loud, long yawn as he walked down a pristine white hallway, illuminated by paneled lights in the ceiling and floor. They appeared as if there was nothing there at all, just simple architecture that served no purpose other than providing structure, but each inch gave off a sweet, comfortable radiation. It filled him with warmth and kept him cozy as he strutted down it. It still didn't stop him from letting off yet another yawn, giving a sleepy 'hello' to a brown and white spotted Nephelem cat that passed by. He was not a morning person; his fur was tousled and messy, clothes slung on without much care or thought. Hell, he didn't even have his I.D. on to show he was a serviceman at all, though it was still in his back pocket. Such was his normal routine when his superiors had the audacity to awaken him at such an ungodly hour.

He shook his head vigorously to try and clear his fuzzy eyesight and thoughts. He needed to focus now, there was work to be done... probably. There wasn't any other reason for him to be awoken unless it was for a job, though considering all the work he had done the day prior, he would've thought they'd cut him a bit of slack. Apparently not. Seeking a bit of company at the moment, he snapped his fingers in front of his face and tapped the inside of his left ear, pushing a tiny button inside of it. Up and at 'em, JJ. We've got stuff to do. He thought. A slew of images flew across his image from the internal computer installed onto his brain and placed almost directly in front of his cornea. Nephelem technology was fun like that; everything was done in his head and nobody would be the wiser because nobody could see it.

The symbol of the Nephelem came up on screen with 'UVT Co.' underneath it in big, colorful bubble letters. The standard HUD for his personal computer system came across his field of vision; standard area temperature and danger meters in the top left, a 3-D map of the B-25-C14 sector station came up, showing the different levels and moving, glowing green, blue, and red dots to show the other Nephelem on-board. Red were servicemen and women like himself, the few green units were the chiefs and managers of the station, while the lone blue dot was the man in charge of everything; he was called the 'Sector Lord.' Elprede called him 'Control Freak' because of his uptight nature and ability to seemingly make a fuss out of anything that was out of place. It gave Elprede a great deal of disgusting amusement to watch him freak out over a misplaced crate, courtesy of him. It likely would have gotten him fired by now if he weren't the best guy they had for any job they gave him.

"Hello, sir!" A cybernetic female voice rang in his head. Elprede recognized it as his computer immediately--Jasmine. He called her JJ.

Salutations, my wonderful partner, he greeted happily through thought. He was always happy to talk to her, his computer was a wonderful asset and friend. The plus side was that she could process and interpret his thoughts so he never had to awkwardly speak out loud to her. Everything processing okay?

"Spectacularly, sir!" JJ exclaimed proudly. "I took the liberty of doing some general updates and system upgrades while you were sleeping. Speaking of, how was your rest?"

Elprede shrugged. 'S was alright. About the usual, except with half the time shaved off. He stopped when he came out of the hallway he was traveling through and into a huge, spacious room. Hologrids zigzagged across the floor with hundreds of super fast shuttles blazing across it every second. He looked up and to his right, making eye contact with a sensor in the corner of the room. a translucent box appeared on the far right of his vision, thousands of lines of code blazing by within a split second until it made a ding when a shuttle cart had been called. Nodding affirmatively, he crossed his arms over his chest and waited... he hated doing this.

"That's a problem," JJ said, however, paused. "Excuse me, you're being called via video transmission. I'll put them through to you now. "

Her voice cut out and the ugly appearance of a huge black wolf appeared on screen wearing pure white male dress clothes. Elprede knew who it was, and he did not seem happy to see Elprede. "Head to the warp room, Elprede." Control Lord Xaoc growled, eyeing the picture of Elprede he could see with a certain measure of disgust. "The details of your job are being sent to you now--" Elprede saw that when a mail symbol flashed next to his map. He'd check that on the way. "--You are to leave immediately. You know the drill, get to it." The call ended as soon as he finished his sentence, leaving Elprede annoyed.

"Sheesh, talk about anger problems... and he wonders why I call him control freak..." he muttered. His eyes flicked up to the mail icon and it opened, displaying the instructions for his job. The shuttle cart finally arrived and Elprede stepped on immediately, very happy. He input his coordinates while reading and tapped the 'Ready' button on it and the thing shot off like a rocket, roaring through towards the warp station. The job he was given was... surprisingly high priority and strange.

Distress signal caused by a spacecraft activating its emergency life support? Strange... he thought, running it back over in his head and dismissing the message. He cleared his HUD, all internal systems disappearing from his vision. Sector XK-02B... wonder what's up.

He arrived at the warp room shortly. He grabbed one of the watches off a stand, tying it tightly onto his wrist as he walked by. He quickly punched in where he needed to go into the watch, and without further ado, held it out in front of him. A beam shot out and struck the air, a small, whirling wormhole appearing out in front of him. He stepped into it quickly, walking out into empty, black space of space sector XK-02B.

JJ, scan the nearby space and find a spacecraft. Preferably one that has any kind of life support on. He commanded.

"Yes, sir," JJ responded. The world turned cybernetic to Elprede for a moment and he could see the different 3-D map lines of space that determined its spatial location in relation to everything. Within a few moments, it all disappeared and his vision was back to normal. " One such ship was detected. I'll load a flight path to it now."

Elprede watched his map until a line directing him appeared on the computer's map. He nodded and immediately set up, breaking past light speed in an instant. He didn't have to show much restraint for himself in a vacuum such as this, no friction to burn him alive and no gravity to slow him down. Freedom. It only took him but a few seconds to blast across the sector to his destination, coming to a stop as he watched the... Saiyan space pod zip by. Target acquired. He took a much slower approach, catching up with the relatively slow-compared-to-him object quickly still but carefully because he did not want to accidentally damage it. He leveled out when he was directly next to it, peering inside. A female Saiyan, red hair... badly wounded.

Where's the nearest station from here, JJ? Elprede asked quickly.

"For this pod... a 3 day travel time to Outpost Base Z-329," JJ answered a second after searching the cloud data banks. "Scanning her current condition, it is unlikely she'll make the return trip back alive. She is currently in cryo-stasis to preserve her energy and health."

Well informed now, he decided to take a bit of a risk. Set our return coordinates for warp to Outpost Base Z-329 and send a notification to them of  our arrival. He commanded, moving to sit atop of the pod. For the moment, he could sense her Ki and it was seemingly dangerously low. He drew upon his own Ki and summoned it outward, pushing it towards and into the Saiyan. He couldn't give too much otherwise he would harm himself in the process, but hopefully enough to temporarily stabilize her. He held his watch out once more and summoned another wormhole, taking them the Saiyan base, a few hundred miles off from it. He remained flying alongside the space pod for the rest of the journey, watching for any complications

Outpost Base Z-329

"Sir, we are receiving a transmission." Said officer Zicks.

"What's the source?" The Overseer asked.

"Nephelem communication, sir."

"What? We don't have any scheduled deliveries incoming or exporting this month."

"It's not a delivery, sir. Imminent worm hole activation approximately 400 miles out with immediate distress relief requested."

"Distress relief?... What's the justification for the request?"

"Saiyan Space Pod 27 detected sir. Emergency Life-Support Systems activation confirmed... 27... 27... That's Lady Valkyrie's vessel, sir." Zicks said frantically as he recalled her information.

"Prep Landing Bay 7 for reception and retrieval and dispatch the medical team at once!" The Overseer ordered.

Meanwhile, out in space and inside her pod Valkyrie's body responded to the Ki sent to it. Her physical condition did not improve any, but the extra Ki helped relieve the amount of work the computer had to put itself through to ensure her survival. As the wormhole was opened and the ship sent through and out the other side, Outpost Base Z-329 came into view immediately and Valkyrie's ship adjusted its course appropriately after a few seconds and retrieved the data regarding its destination in LandingBay 7.

"Sir, the wormhole was opened. Lady Valkyrie's ship is on approach!" Zicks called out.

"Status of the Landing Bay!"

"Crash Pad is ready to receive and Medical Team is ready to retrieve, sir!"

"Good."

Valkyrie's ship rocketed towards the surface of the planet. Breaking through the atmosphere it made a beeline for Landing Bay 7 and smashed into the Crash Pad. Thankfully they were designed to absorb the impact of high-speed entry, and thus it was a perfect reception.

"Get her out of there now!!" Cried Doctor Nills, head of the Medical Team.

The team approached the pod and activated the pod's door, opening it and allowing them to retrieve Valkyrie's body from within. Taking off her rebreather and disconnecting the Life-Support sensors and IV, they replaced them with mobile versions on their stretcher and raced her off the Landing Bay and into the Base proper.

While inside and on their way to the Medical Bay, the team rapidly examined her physical status.

"What's the damage?!" Doctor Nills asked.

"Sir! Left arm, broken Ulna and Radius with two detected fractures. Ribs 3, 4, 5 on the left side broken. Ribs 2, 3, 7 on the right side broken. Near lung puncture on Rib 4 on the left side. Cervical Vertebrae 3 and 4 cracked. Thoracic Vertebrae 3, 4, 5, 10, and 12 cracked. Hairline fracture of right Fibula. Severe concussion. Mild internal bleeding located in the sternum just above the stomach. Possibly a nicked artery."

"Damn it all." Doctor Nills exclaimed.

The team made it to the medical bay and immediately stripped her armor and clothing and placed her naked and unconscious form into Rejuvenation Chamber 3, as it was the only one not in use by other patients. Hooked up to her mouth was a rebreather, and through it a gas was passed which restored her body from the medically induced coma her ship had placed her in. With her body returned to its normal state, healing could begin properly as the liquid filled the chamber and she floated as if simply treading water in the sea during a leisurely dive.

"I want at least one nurse present at all times until we confirm her condition to be stable. Understood?" Nills asked.

"Understood!" Came a unified response from the staff.

Nills sighed and began walking back out to the Landing Bay. Elprede had been allowed to travel with them if he had so chosen to the doors of the Medical Bay, but not inside as it was reserved for staff only. As soon as he exited the Medical Bay, Nills made his way to Elprede's position and extended a hand out to thank him.

"You have our thanks for delivering Lady Valkyrie to us, sir Nephelem." He said.

"Sir, your message has been delivered," JJ said immediately. Her voice was drowned out by the roaring of passing through the wormhole for a few seconds before they appeared out the other side and Elprede could hear her once more. "Response has been made. Direction recalculating to crash on Landing Bay 7."

Elprede nodded in acknowledgement. "Roger. Are they planning for a crash landing?" He asked. A small stream of Ki was kept flowing into the female Saiyan, not enough to overtake his natural, high-speed regeneration of energy.

"Yes, sir. Prepare for impact."

He made a small hissing noise. Saiyans were still so unduly primitive with how they handled their technology; considering nearly a third of the shipments he transported were new scanners because they kept breaking the old ones. He was quite lucky that it was nearly an impossibility for him to break the computer literally fused to his biological structure otherwise he may have already broken it during his many fights across the cosmos. He flinched and raised his Ki to defend himself against the building heat from entering the atmosphere of the planet, a cool mist of purple Ki, though mostly by drawing his forearm over his eyes to shield them from the blinding light of the flames licking at his body. Traveling faster than the speed of light meant that they weren't actually exposed to a high amount of it most of the time, even if his eyesight was infinitely better than a Saiyan's by any means anyways.

"Sir, impact in 10 seconds!" JJ warned.

Right. He responded quickly, tensing himself and preparing to leap off the pod. Timing was everything for this to work, and well, he was a master of speed and precision, nothing he couldn't handle. At the very last possible moment, he leaped off and backwards just as it smashed into the landing pad. Elprede floated in the air, watching it skid across the floor before slowly lowering himself to the ground and crossing his arms over his chest. He observed them fuss over the Saiyan until they disappeared into the base and out of his sight.

Turning, he did a two-finger salute to the man addressing him and then did a small bow. "The honor is all mine, Saiyan. Though, I'd prefer if you called me Elprede." His eyes twinkled as he peered up from his relatively low position, considering the man was most likely 2 or 3 feet taller than him. Elprede put his hands in his pockets and switched off his computer interface, letting it run in the background due to the massive amounts of influx information JJ was gaining from scanning the environment.

"Is she going to survive?" He asked, then tapped his noggin with his index finger from his left hand. "Computer told me she was in pretty rough shape. I gave her some Ki to try and stabilize her until we got here. What could possibly do that to a Saiyan besides a Frost Demon?"

Nills nodded in response to Elprede's request.

"Very well Elprede." He said simply.

As Elprede asked about what could do that to a Saiyan, Nills sighed.

"My best guess, taking the damage into account, is that the aliens responsible for invading and taking over Planet Zsuriin held significant power levels and at least one of them managed to give her a sound thrashing. We'll have to wait until she wakes up to know for sure what happened, but since she was able to come back I presume her defense mission was a success despite her condition." He said.

He wandered over to her ship and activated the main computer. He searched the memory bank and tried to see if the ship had recorded anything, but it hadn't. Valkyrie had a bad habit of simply leaving her ship and proceeding with her mission rather than recording the process via her Scouter. During the fight, her Scouter had been damaged, but was still operable and sitting on the floor of the pod. He picked it up and searched the Scouter's memory banks to see if she hadn't at least gotten something on it even if nothing had gone to the pod, but there was nothing there. The only thing present was a number: 18,000.

"... I guess I was right. The Scouter's last recorded power level was 18,000 which is a significant cut above that of Valkyrie's who only has a power of around 12,800, give or take. The one leading the space pirate group must have been quite the warrior to do this to her." Nills said.

@Deathrattle BB

Elprede frowned, his teeth showing lightly. "Planet Zsuriin? I made a shipment there a week ago... we didn't receive any signal that there was a problem." He mumbled, looking away in what was presumably the direction of the planet. What a bummer that pirates were still on the rise. His ears perked, listening intently to Doctor Nills and following him to the pod. He examined the pod closely as well but saw nothing out of the ordinary. It almost seems like it was too clean, and well, he had the need to dig a little bit deeper. Time for some probable cause and illegal conduct.

"I think I've got an idea." He announced. He held his hand out to Nills, gesturing for the Scouter. "May I see the Scouter, please? It's a little-known function, but it activates a low-quality security footage when it takes damage. Low quality because it was made to mostly just be able to withstand damage rather than have anything truly useful other than sound. It may or may not have anything useful regardless." He explained, giving a small smile afterward. "Either way, I'll repair it for free anyways. It's cheaper than just making a new one."

Yo, JJ? I got somethin' I need you to do. Breach the security of Planet Zsuriin and look through the security footage of the last few days there. I want to figure out what exactly caused this. If nothing else, we may get a glimpse of the fight or hear the sound. If they have power level scanners, look for anything in excess 12,000. He ordered.

"But, sir, isn't that--"

He interrupted her. Don't question me, JJ. Just do it, and keep incognito--Control Freak will skin me alive if he finds out I did this. He could tell JJ was unhappy with this but she did as he requested anyways. He sighed and let her work in the background once more. He would have to apologize later.

"So your telling, even through I order you to destroy there communications system before they could send an SOS, you went to mug some of them before destroying the one in your area. And now we don't know if the sent a A MESSAGE OR NOT TO SOMEONE WHO COULD COME HERE AND CAUSE PROBLEMS!" Pyro said angry and annoyed to one of his minions. It was Pyro, the minions and, a few senior crew members all sitting around a huge table aboard the Vortex.

"Sir what should we do? If they sent a message then we'll be swarmed by bounty hunters and space police in a matter of days! We need to leave." One pirate, a shark like humanoid said.

"Why should we leave? Their message probably, even if they sent it, probably won't  reach anyone who cares. Besides we should more one keeping the people on this planet in line during our little vacation here. Our men can easily put down any attack but if we don't want to end up getting an even larger bounty for mass murder we need to get them under control." A blue haired and green skinned female stated.

"We will stay for now, until there signs of attack from a group bounty hunters, the police, or some "heroes". Then we pack up and leave while I take care of the first wave of morons." Pyro said calmly before picking up a glass of wine and drinking some of it. "Now to keep the people of this world in line we just need to show we mean business and not by randomly beating up the people and destroying cities. We simple give a chance, not a big chance but chance for them to get rid of us. A tournament  of there "strongest warriors" and our crew, were the final round is a fight against me." Pyro said smirking.

"Brilliant sure, it'll get rid of whatever hope the people have and give our crew some fun. And maybe one will defeat you and we'll get a new captain" The shark man said before everyone laughed at that someone could defeat Pyro.

The pirates then spread word all over the planet about the tournament. It would take place in three days in the worlds capital in a large stadium were the ring was being constructed by the local under the eyes of the pirates. But far out in the galaxy the message sent by the people of Margen has made to Outpost Base Z-329.  It simply said "We need help, pirates have started over running our world. We are located on planet ER-345, planet Margen. Please hurry there maybe a frost de..." before it was cut off.

@ChoShadow @Deathrattle BB

Doctor Nills handed the Scouter over.

"Whatever you can find to assist in our ability to help Valkyrie would be appreciated. The more we know about how she ended up this way, the more thoroughly and efficiently we can treat her." He said.

He turned and began walking back towards the base.

"If you are so inclined you may come inside. The Medical Bay is off limits to non-personnel, but since you brought her here I think we can make an exception. With the advanced Rejuvenation Chambers we recently developed, and presuming that her mind is still stable despite her concussion, it shouldn't be more than a few hours before Valkyrie is at least awake and able to speak to us about what happened to her." He offered.

He left the choice up to Elprede, as he needed to get back to the Medical Bay to check on not only Valkyrie, but other patients as well.

Meanwhile, inside the Communications Chamber, a transmission was received and pondered over by the top brass of the Base.

We need help. Pirates have started overrunning our world. We are located on planet ER-345, planet Margen. Please hurry. There may be a Frost De-.

"Sir, what do you make of this?" Asked one of the Communications officers.

"... It's hard to say. We cannot presume anything if a Frost Demon is truly involved. They are an incredibly cunning race and very, very powerful. We cannot blindly rush to their aide. We will wait for Lady Valkyrie to return to full health before we make any further decisions."

"Yes, sir. Relaying the message to the Medical Teams now to send Lady Valkyrie here upon completion of her recovery."

"Mm."

@Deathrattle BB @ChazGhost

Elprede nodded. "I'll do what I can." He replied to the Doctor distracted. He decided to follow Bills into the base, he was interested in actually meeting the Saiyan he just saved from dying in their sleep. They may not be interested in meeting him if he phrased it like that, though, Saiyan pride being being very important to them. He never understood it certainly himself, but then, he didn't really need to. As long as they weren't going around and spouting off nonsense about it, or getting themselves woefully killed because of it, who was he to care what they held in high value? None, was the answer.

Nevertheless, he shook his head to clear his thoughts. JJ, when you get a chance I need you to examine the security memory on this Scouter. It might have something useful, and it isn't illegal for me to do! He cheered the last part, but his computer partner seemed still reluctant to do it. Elprede fiddled in his ear until he pulled out the sticky piece, sticking it to the Scouter. She would handle it when she could, which was surprisingly not long.

"Both jobs are complete. The security footage of Planet Zsuriin has been uploaded to your cloud storage, and the Scouter memory for review." She paused and hummed. "The Scouter's memory is... The video footage is too inconclusive and fuzzy. The sound seems to exhibit many blast attacks and strange clicking noises... I cannot translate it into Nephelem."

Clicking noises? Is it those weird, angry bipdeal bugs in Sector Z-34-S?

"I am uncertain, but it is possible. No other organization uses such a series of sounds for speech." Another pause. "Incoming SOS from a far off planet. A pirate attack. They describe a Frost Demon to be among the pirates."

Elprede scrunched his eyebrows together in confusion. What would a Frost Demon be doing with pirates, of all things? Why would they be attacking a planet now, he was aware that they were mostly harmless in their... Less than amiable doings. He had fought one before and that had quite drained him, he wasn't eager to face off against another, potentially stronger Frost Demon.

Remain on standby. Send Control Freak the details of our mission success and send a video meeting request to command of this base. I'd like to know what they plan in doing in light of all this. He cut off that train and thought further, his face turning sullen. And... I'm sorry for earlier, JJ. I didn't mean to be rude.

There was a pregnant moment.

"I know, sir." JJ replied softly.

With a shake of his head, he only barely was paying attention to what Nills had said. Something about advanced rejuvenation chambers. "Would you like me to provide Ki for her over the next few hours so that she might be recharged when she wakes up?" He asked, feeling much more tired than he was before now. "And... You wouldn't happen to have a bed or chair or something, would you? As you can understand, it is quite early for me. I would return to my outpost but I want to meet, er... Lady Valkyrie."

Nills looked over his shoulder.

"We have a rest area in the lobby. Feel free to take a break. It will be several hours yet before Lady Valkyrie has strength enough to wake up and speak about what happened."

He stopped a moment.

"Also, providing her with Ki will be unnecessary at this time. The Rejuvenation Chamber liquid has properties which accelerate the Ki regeneration process in the body. But thank you for the offer."

At that moment, a security guard walked through the door.

"Pardon me, doctor. But Lady Niir'lana is due for arrival any moment and has requested passage to visit Lady Valkyrie." He said.

"Lady Niir'lana? I thought she was still on leave. But very well. Please inform her that her request is accepted." Nills replied.

The security guard bowed.

"Yes, sir. It will be done." He said as he turned and left.

Nills looked back at Elprede.

"If you're at all curious, Lady Niir'lana is another of our VIP's. Despite being a Low Class Saiyan, her power is an impressive 10,445, only around two thousand lower than Lady Valkyrie. In truth she has actually defeated Lady Valkyrie in several competitive bouts. If you are at all interested in speaking to one of the Saiyan Race's most prodigious talents, Lady Niir'lana will be the perfect candidate for you." He said, walking off towards the Medical Bay.

Meanwhile, in the Communications Room, the Commander was still trying to make a decision about the Frost Demon message. Wherever there were Frost Demons, there was usually mischief that caused more short-term problems than it solved larger issues. In truth he was thinking of ignoring the transmission and leaving it to other, more prepared third parties. But all the same he sent the transmission to the Saiyan's home planet for analysis where a more thorough and informed decision could be made.

@Deathrattle BB @ChazGhost

Elprede looked uncertain about the doctor's refusal of his offer but figured he would have to respect it. He was in no position to insist otherwise, this was their territory. He had pretty much no say in decisions here. "That's unfortunate. Call if you ever change your mind." He replied, shoving his hands into his pockets. His interested piqued at the mention of this 'Lady Niir'lana.' "Just tell her to come visit me if she cares to." He was too impatient to get to his nap to actually pay attention and almost quite literally disappeared. He had broken in a jog, which even to Saiyans was difficult to see even if you didn't blink. The accompanying gust of air blowing violently past was indication enough of the Nephelem's departure.

JJ, look up who that guy was mentioning for me, will you? He asked, arriving in only a split second to the rest area. It had many benches and beds, many of them occupied by Saiyans. He didn't pay them much mind, even if he got extremely awkward stares from the Saiyans who were awake that had seen him. His sensitive ears picked up quite easily the whispering chatter of one of them, saying something about him being a 'pipsqueak.' He sighed. It was always the same reaction by any race who was larger than him.

"Of course, sir. I'll place it in your notifications for when you are ready to view the completed profile." JJ responded. She sounded sleepy now, which adversely affected him.

He was feeling much more tired now. Yeah, cool.  He said. I've got a bunch of docs to fill out.

"Sounds lovely, sir." She quipped.

Shut your circuits, Jasmine, or I'll make YOU fill them out.

Jasmine didn't speak another word.

Settling down on one of the benches, he almost immediately let out a loud, toothy yawn. He didn't want to take one of the beds in case somebody who was actually injured needed it. His eyelids suddenly felt heavy and he maneuvered his fluffy tail to use as a pillow, laying down across the bench. He kept his eyes half-opened, though lidded. If he was going to wait he might as well go through the backlog of reports he still had to do. He flicked his eyes up and the virtual keyboard appeared in his field of vision. He dutifully went to work, his eyes flicking across the keys as he typed until his eyes closed completely and he fell asleep after a few minutes. The augmented reality disappeared.

The pirates spread every country, city, town, and village on the planet about the tournament. "Send the strongest fighters your little world has to the capital. If they win you all get your freedom again. But that's not all by the law of our crew, the man or woman who can defeat our captain gets the ultimate treasure we can offer, the dread ship Vortex and it's crew." one of pirates said to an audience of a whole village. The villager looked at each other in and some looked excited about the chance for freedom as well as getting rich. But had a look of dread. They knew no one on world had a chance against the frost demon...

Pyro was currently watching the construction of the arena. He was standing in the bleachers as a few of his underlings discussed how and what to build the arena with as a another pirate walked up holding one of the native by the arm. "Hey cap we found the man who sent message" The pirate said tossing the native to Pyro. The man fell to ground and looked up at Pyro with a look of pure fear.

"So what did the message say and who did you send it to?" Pyro said looking down at the native.

"umm...umm... all it said was we were being invaded by pirates and they were lead by a frost demon. We had no idea one o the most wanted pirates was the captain when I sent it to the Saiyan outpost..." The native said shaking before falling back fainting.

"I see... it was just sent to a bunch of monkeys and they don't even know it's me. Whahaha... We won't need to worry. They won't send much if any to help a simple pirate invasion with only a small sitting of a frost demon." Pyro said laughing and confident in himself that he could take down what ever the Saiyans would send. The other pirates joined in soon after in the laughter before dragging the native over to help work on the arena.

Meanwhile in a small village on the other side of the planet some of the native were working on rebuilding one of the communication systems for off world. Will they able to finish it before they are discovered? Or will get founded out? Find out next time!

Within the hour a new Saiyan Space pod came rocketing through the skies and touched down on the Crash Pad of Landing Bay 12 to the Northeast side of the base.

Out of the pod emerged a tall, voluptuous, and powerful member of the Saiyan Race: Era Niir'lana. Her violet hair was tied in a long thin pony tail which fell down behind her almost to her ankles. Her gray eyes were focused and disciplined, but calm and relaxed at the same time. When she beheld those who came out to greet her, she offered them a smile.

"Welcome Lady Niir'lana. We can honestly say this is a surprise. We weren't expecting you." Said one of the Saiyans who'd come out to greet her.

"Apologies for the sudden unannounced arrival." She replied.

"Not at all milady. What brings you here?" He asked.

"I heard that Valkyrie was deployed from here to deal with some space pirates. I was in the sector so I decided to see if she needed some help. However..." She glanced to the base.

"By the looks of things she's already back, which shouldn't be the case... What happened?" She asked.

"Lady Valkyrie met with fierce resistance and was forced to activate her Emergency Life-Support Systems. She was rushed back to base by a Nephelem who happened to pick up her distress signal."

Era was surprised.

"So Valkyrie met her match eh?... Interesting. I didn't think she'd ever struggle with the likes of some lowly space pirates." She said quietly.

"She is currently in the Medical Bay in Rejuvenation Chamber 3. According to Doctor Nills, she's expected to recover enough to speak within a few hours."

Era nodded.

"Oh, the Nephelem who brought her here is resting in the lobby. He said if you were at all interested in seeing him that he'd be waiting for you."

Era looked to the base.

"Maybe later. Right now I'm more concerned about Valkyrie. Excuse me." She said.

Era walked into the base passing through the lobby. She glanced to the side and spotted the Nephelem who had brought Valkyrie here, but she looked ahead again and walked over the doors to the Medical Bay. At the door she met with the security guards who gave her immediate passage into the room. She walked over to the Rejuvenation Chamber marked #3, and beheld Valkyrie's crippled form floating in the healing liquid.

She observed the visible physical damage to her body, particularly her arm, and wondered how in the world some space pirates could have done that to her.

"Valkyrie. Just what were those things?" She asked aloud.

Her Scouter flickered, and she saw Valkyrie's power flare as she floated in the Chamber.

"A momentary increase from 12 to 2,600... And now it's back to 12." She noted.

"What was that?" Asked one of the nurses.

"That was Valkyrie's fighting spirit." Era replied.

"What in the world does that mean?" The nurse asked.

Era glanced to the side to look at her.

"It means that Valkyrie is reliving the battle she just had in her dreams. Given that momentary boost of power I'd say she experienced quite the blow to her Saiyan pride which made her power run wild. If that so, then it explains why her body is in such bad shape. The broken bones not withstanding, a lot of this damage was likely due to her power getting out of control. It wasn't ready to process as much Ki as she forced through it." She said.

"Oh... Is that right? My goodness, Lady Valkyrie. What were you thinking?" The nurse asked aloud.

"I doubt she was thinking at all. Knowing Valkyrie the moment her pride was damaged she snapped and blacked out letting her instincts take over. When she wakes up, I doubt she will remember much of what went on." Era said.

With that she turned and began to leave.

"Wait, miss Niir'lana. What about that power boost? Was that a good sign?"

Era looked over her shoulder.

"It depends. So long as she doesn't power up for more than a split second, she should be fine. But if she powers up for more than a full second or so it could cause further damage... I'd recommend giving her a further sedative to keep her under and provide her with more lucid dreams to keep her calm during the recovery period." She said.

And with those parting words she left the nurse to keep watch over Valkyrie as she walked outside. The moment she exited the doors, a couple of the male Saiyans were waiting for her.

"Lady Niir'lana. Is there anything you need?" They asked.

She gave them a glare.

"What I need is some space. Go back to sleep." She ordered.

"Yes ma'am!" They said, going back to their beds and benches to rest on her order, but still ogling her as she walked towards the Nephelem.

She sighed and began walking towards the exit.

Elprede was startled awake by a sudden nearby surge of Ki energy. It was really unfortunate on how high strung and alert he was to his surroundings at all times. But it has saved his life numerous times already, he couldn't afford to not be, especially with all the assassination attempts that were made on his life due to his own rarity. He sat up on the bench, his arms behind him and his hands flat against the seat as he looked in the direction of where he felt the Ki. He recognized who it was-- Lady Valkyrie. Rolling his eyes, he let off another yawn and stretched his arms up skywards until the numerous joints clicked or popped in them.

JJ woke up along with him in that moment. "Sir, the profile is ready and you have received a message from the Control Lord; you're to return to base immediately."

The silver fox rolled his eyes as they refocused until he could see everything vividly. His vision was always slightly surreal to him at how sharp it was. "Well, tell Control Freak he can shove it," Elprede muttered, getting up. He heard a small commotion and looked to see several male Saiyans crowding around a rather robust female one. One scan of him told him the names and everything about the males, though he only noticed the female in particular; Lady Niir'lana. He decided to look over her profile finally while also giving a growl in disgust at the males.

"Ugh... that's revolting." He muttered, slightly angry. "The males of humans and Saiyans are so... primal. Gathering around any female they see that they find attractive and suffocating her." He wasn't particularly concerned in whether or not they heard him or not. It wasn't as if he would be here much longer anyways, and none of them were anywhere close to strong enough to take him on in a fight, even if his own power level felt comparably low to them. He kept himself at low energy most of the time anyways to throw others off into thinking he was weak. With a shake of his head, he turned away when Niir'lana passed them by without a second thought.

He walked away towards the exit of the building, sticking his left hand in his pocket while he raised his right one, unsheathing it's claws and scratching an ear on his long ear. He wasn't concerned with actually meeting Niir'lana anymore, he gained all the knowledge he cared for from her profile already. "JJ, save this outpost's coordinates and chart me for home, please." He asked, not bothering to just think it to her. He didn't feel like it.

"Would you prefer it as a flight path instead of warp?"

"Flight path, please. I'll just come back here in a few hours when Valkyrie is actually awake, or when she's recovered. One of the two. Waited too long and I'm itching for a good race now."

Era walked outside and began inspecting Valkyrie's ship. Like Nills before her she was interested in seeing if the ship's logs had any recordings of what had happened to Valkyrie. But alas it was a wasted effort. She found nothing that Nills hadn't found already. When she was done inspecting the ship she walked back inside the lobby and sat down on one of the benches. She crossed her arms and closed her eyes, meditating until the promised time of awakening.

... Several hours ticked by moving the planet into the evening hours with the sun setting on the horizon. Era's eyes slid open when she heard the Medical Bay doors open, and out walked Doctor Nills.

"Lady Niir'lana, Lady Valkyrie is conscious." He said.

Era smiled and got up to follow him into the Med Bay to speak to Valkyrie.

However, conscious and ready to speak were two different things. Valkyrie's brain waves on the monitors indicated she was awake, but she still didn't seem to be in any condition to be speaking or relaying a story about what had happened to her. Era was not surprised. Valkyrie's awakened state didn't necessarily mean she had the strength to communicate.

Era checked her Scouter.

"Power Level 37... At least it's rising." She said, turning off the device.

"Indeed. It seems her body has moved beyond the preparation phase and is now entering the Ki Restoration phase." Nills observed.

"Good. That means that her wounds will start healing as her body accumulates enough Ki to support he healing process."

"Exactly. With any luck it won't be long now until she has accumulated enough Ki to open her eyes and speak to us about what happened." Nills said.

Era nodded and began to leave.

"Tell me when she's ready to talk. I'll be waiting in the lobby."

"Very well, Lady Niir'lana." Nills replied.

Era sat back down in the lobby, and the wait for Valkyrie to truly awaken and become ready to speak was another four hours. Her power level had risen to 250, and she finally opened her eyes and managed to at least say "hello" to Doctor Nills. He promptly fetched Era and ushered her into the room.

"You really outdid yourself Valkyrie. Anything to say about it?" Era asked.

Valkyrie's eyes narrowed slightly, but behind the rebreather was a smile.

"Lick my tail Era." She replied. (basically "fuck you" in Saiyan slang for this RP)

Era laughed out loud with Doctor Nills turning away as his face reddened slightly.

Era and Valkyrie were both old friends and friendly rivals, and they spoke to each other like this all the time.

Elprede wasn't entirely sure where he was going at the moment. It just felt like he had something to do, though for the life of him he couldn't remember exactly what it was. This was going to keep bugging him until he remembered what he was supposed to be doing at the moment, instinctively flying to whatever path he had been following for the past six hours. Visiting his family and seeing how they were doing had been a relieving breath of freshness that he needed in his life. They were all doing relatively well for themselves now which made him quite happy. He started to slow down upon approaching the planet, tearing a swathe of seared air through the planet's atmosphere as he landed back down on the Crash Pad that Valkyrie's ship had landed on. He made sure to move quickly out of the way in case any other the Saiyan pods came flying in.

JJ, what am I doing here again? Elprede finally decided to ask.

"To see how Lady Valkyrie is doing." She replied quickly. "It is surprising that you forgot already."

He shrugged and started walking to the medical facility. My mind is still stuck on the races. They were fun, but not really challenging.

"Perhaps you should attempt to reduce your speed if it bothers you?"

Elprede nearly choked on the air as he took in a sudden breath. What!? Are you crazy? I said it was fun, not that I was actually looking for a challenge! He shook his head at her.

"Sorry, sir."

Don't worry about it. He said, walking through the entrance and making a beeline for the room he saw Dr. nills go into before. He opened it and looked inside, sea blue eyes flashing. It isn't... like...

"Oh, am I interrupting something?" He asked, ears twitching at the loud laughter coming from the Saiyan girl. He looked directly at Nills, perplexed. "'Cause, uh, I just wanted to check if that Saiyan I saved earlier was doing okay. This is Lady Valkyrie's room, right?"

Valkyrie, still stark naked in her Chamber, glanced to the new Nephelem arrival and blinked.

""Saved me"?" She asked, more than a little confused.

"Yes, Lady Valkyrie. This Nephelem, Elprede, detected your distress signal and used his worm hole technology to bring you to us when your ship's log still estimated a three day arrival time. Without him, you'd have died inside your pod." Nills said.

Valkyrie blinked again, looking from Nills to Elprede.

"My thanks, Elprede." She said simply.

Era arched an eyebrow at Elprede.

"Getting a nice eyeful there Elprede?" She joked.

@Deathrattle BB

Elprede didn't seem to pay any mind to Valkyrie being naked. In fact, he didn't even blush or become flustered from it. He had balls of stone, or rather, did not care at all. The latter was the correct choice over the former; these Saiyans were fierce warriors, man or female, sex did not matter. He was hardly interested in the females of his race, no matter how attractive they were, what difference would it make to him if it were Saiyans instead?

He nodded in acknowledgement to Valkyrie. "I was just doing my duty, Lady Valkyrie." He sent a cross glare to Niir'lana. "Am I supposed to be getting an eyeful of something? Or do you Saiyans find something embarrassing about being naked?" He crossed his arms over his chest, leaning to the side, against the doorframe.

"Uh, sir... why do you think they wear clothes?" JJ tentatively said.

... Shut up, JJ. I can be stupid sometimes if I want to.
