Mission acquired and mission accomplished.

With the ghost and most of their other dormmates distracted by the giant moth, Baxter was able to freely fulfill Potato Girl's desires to the best of his physical ability. The result of this sweaty and filthy work was Baxter winding up outside of her dorm just in time for her to get fairly insistent about tech support for some reason.

"Yeah, gotcha. If I need someone to hold the pc while I beat it for misbehavior I'll call." he winked as he left her to her room, eager tgo get back outside for whatever was going down out there.

But that was before he realized he was feeling suspiciously lightheaded, and raised an arm only to find that Chomper had managed to work his way out of the jacket ball and latch onto his arm. The little guy was sucking away like a twelve pound leech, but Baxter was more impressed that he'd managed to get out of the ball in the first place.

As a reward, Baxter once again reminded Chomper of the First rule of biting by sinking his teeth into that plant-flesh goodness. The shocked gasps of the familiar weren't even considered by Baxter, as the flavor just reminded him that there was still a meal to get to.

Deciding Chomper would be denied participation in the meal they were promised, Baxter sought out his room.

Upon finding said room, he merely poked his head in, gave it a once over, looked towards who he figured was his roommate and said "Niiiiceee," as the room started transforming.

He then said, "Okay bye!" before unceremoniously throwing Chomper towards his side of the room and dipping.

1537121363.elenawing_marlborocharm2rez.pngThe room had barely begun transforming when Baxter took his leave, staring with what at first appeared to be a bachelor pad with a pool table, a stripper pole, and ten different gaming consoles. But the second that Baxter was gone things began distorting.

The king sized bed wound up fused into the flat screen tv, the Game consoles mashed into the stripper pole as the smooth tile fractured and folded in on itself. What came out the other side was a distorted lunatic's version of what a Bachelor Pad looked like. Chomper went ahead and immediately scurried into the nightmarish mass of intertwined furniture, never to be seen again... probably.

But was this some glitch in the room's design, or was this truly what Baxter goddamn Caufield thought of when picturing the perfect room?

He wasn't there to see it, so the world may never know.

He was too busy racing back outside to get in on whatever was going down with the giant moth. Only, by the time he actually threw open the doors again the moth was joined by Moraine Le F-cup.

Any and all words she could've been saying were immediately ignored when Baxter heard the word 'Banquet'. Clapping his hands together loudly, he cheered.

"Yes! Banquet! Banquet! Banquet!"

He was cheerful and chatty practically all the way to the cafeteria, silenced only by the sight of the tables. The new teachers did not exist. Hell, the rest of the academy barely registered to Baxter as his eyes bore holes through the tables and any unfortunate students that were seated across from him. But he was finally silent, practically a statue waiting for the signal to come alive. That signal came in the form of being allowed to finally feast.

But 'feast' was too good of a word for what Baxter did at that table.

That was no feast... it was a massacre.

Entire plates had their entrees disappear before they could even be fully set down. Drinks vanished from glasses and cups ran dry as the casualties mounted. Chicken? Demolished. Steak? Evaporated. Mashed potatoes? There was no sign it ever existed in the first place.

To say Baxter gorged himself at that banquet would be to imply such a descriptor was enough.

And it very clearly wasn't.

After filling himself with an incomprehensible amount of food, Baxter finally submitted to slumber and passed out at the table until they were ushered back to the dorms. It was there that his drowsiness seemed to begin to fade, his usual smile returning as he proceeded to just start doing push ups in the common room.

"Good Eating,"
he grunted between pushes "Damn good eating!"

Was everything in this place going to hit like a whirlwind, or would some of it become normal? Sonia didn’t know, and wasn’t sure how long it would be until she found out, but she found herself feeling strung out even by the time they made it to the dining hall. She felt bad for the students that were stressed over their roommates, as well as worried over her own that she had yet to meet, and Moraine's harsh way of dealing with conflicts wasn't making her feel any better. At least some of the other teachers seemed a bit gentler, and she had to hope that the students wouldn’t all be horrible. Even in normal high school, there was always a mix of good and bad, wasn’t there?

At dinner she sat next to Arii since they’d already met, but didn't talk much, quietly observing the large room around her and only picking at the food. It was good, at least, so she wouldn’t have to worry about how well she would be eating here, but she was too stressed to feel very hungry. They would start classes soon, and everything would be new and difficult, and even though she was sure that it would all be worth it in the end she felt that she deserved to feel out of place and worried over everything that would happen in the next few days and weeks to come as she adjusted to all the new things. She had always believed that people deserved to be allowed feel both negative and positive emotions, and she was 'people', too, so she didn't always have to feel peppy.

When they went back to the dorms, worn out from the stress of the day, she only hung her cloak over her desk chair and flopped down on top of her bed in her day clothes to cuddle with Fern, who had come eagerly to meet her once she'd opened the door. As much as she wanted to help everyone else to adjust to the new situation they found them in, she needed to let herself come to terms with it, too. She already missed her family and friends, and she knew the first few nights would be hard when everything was quiet and there was plenty of time to think but also that she would eventually adjust, and make new friends. She hoped she had already started to do that with the few people she’d introduced herself to and spoken, and that she and her roommate would at least be friendly, if not actual friends.

"Oh, hello," she said with a small smile when the girl finally followed her into the room, sitting up and giving Fern's head a gentle rub to soothe him when tried to stay attached to her shirt. "You must be my new roomy. Sorry for not finding you earlier, it just feels like there’s a lot going on and I haven’t got my head on straight yet. I’m Sonia. It’s nice to meet you."

"Uh, alright?" Felix answered with some confusion at Ruth's request, tilting his head as he tried to figure out what she meant by 'cthulhu stuff' for a second as she led Baxter to her dorm.

After a moment he simply shrugged and went to find his own dorm to unpack. It took a moment, but once inside he could see that his roommate had already been there by the way the right side of the room was decorated.

The left side shifted once he stepped in, nearly making him jump a bit. His eyes widened as half of the room shifted, the desk chair becoming a wooden one in wheels while a small set of drawers took place near the bed.

It was simple, a lot like his room back home minus the small stack of books he'd usually have on his desk.

Anime-Room-bedroom-Background.jpg

Once the room finished shifting, he set his backpack down and started taking out all the clothes he brought. He put those in the closet, along with his empty bag. As for things such as his toothbrush, shampoo and conditioner, those went to the bathroom. Smaller clothing items went into the set of drawers near the bed. Once done he sighed. Once settled, the Green Panda had come out from his hood and made himself comfortable curling up on one of the pillows to nap.

"How about the name Thorn for you, little guy?" He asked, scratching behind it's ear. The plant creature huffed, which he assumed was an affirmation. Letting Thorn rest, Felix left the dorm to head out and explore the campus tjen head to the banquet.

At least, that had been the plan, but he grew curious at the teacher who was explaining ritualistic casting to the other group of Wild Borns, deciding that he may as well hear what that was about, he joined them. Shortly after, Moraine showed up to announce the banquet was about to start after letting Bellatrix know she was stuck with her current roommate for the year.

The teacher's words were a bit harsh, but well, she got right to the point.

Once at the banquet it looked like something out of a story. It was definitely nicer and bigger than at his old school's. He didn't grab much to eat, mainly due to the fact that he wasn't all that hungry, while quickly falling witness to Baxter's ravenous display that left Felix shaking his head with a small almost inaudible sigh. Was Baxter even human?

The banquet itself wasn't too eventful outside of that, and before long he was back in his dorm and dressed for bed, laying down and getting comfortable after putting his cloak and belt away on his rolling chair, practically deflating once he did so.

His eyes had been closed a moment, though one of his green eyes peeked open to the other half of the room, though closed again seconds later. He hadn't really met his roommate, but he could properly meet him tomorrow unless he decided to talk to Felix now.

Vienna was eager to explore the rest of the campus. A few things stopped her, however—the way the other students had stared at the Wild Borns, the vastness of this unfamiliar place, the idea of witches practicing magic everywhere. She had to admit that the way her dorm room had decorated itself had unsettled her. It wasn’t just the seeming lack of privacy (how could it see so deeply into her mind?), but the power of the magic. Vienna knew her fears were a bit irrational; sure, magic could be dangerous, but so could the car her father drove to work every day, the knives she used for cooking, and the candles whose scent had constantly permeated the air in her brother’s room before Vienna’s conduit moment had made her family much more wary of fire. And like a car or a candle, magic could do just as much good as it could do harm. The parakeet that was currently following Vienna through the dorm, for example, had been created by magic. Despite her distrust for magic, Vienna was not at all uneasy around Arvid, which was proof that magic wasn’t all bad. But she couldn’t help feeling nervous now that she was surrounded by witches. She’d get used to it eventually, right?

It would help if she could get to know some of the witches who had been around magic for all of their lives, but that seemed unlikely, based on the dirty looks the Wild Borns had gotten. What did the other students have against them? Were they seen as outcasts because they didn’t fit in with a source, or because they didn’t come from families of witches? Or was it for another reason entirely? Wondering why wouldn’t be any help to Vienna, though. She was more concerned about how the Wild Borns would be treated by their classmates. The worst case scenario was, of course, the other witches using their experience with magic against the Wild Borns, but Vienna doubted the teachers would allow any attacks. It was more likely that they would be the subject of gossip, exclusion, and verbal harassment, all of which Vienna found unpleasant. She wasn’t used to being ostracized; she’d dealt with a few bullies in her childhood, but mostly she had kept to herself and her small group of friends and no one had bothered her. She definitely wasn’t prepared to face her classmates and their potential dislike for the Wild Borns, so she put off her exploration of the campus by examining every inch of the dorm’s common area with Arvid by her side. The budgie seemed to know she was upset; he landed on Vienna’s shoulder and whistled at her as she ambled around the dorm.

There wasn’t much to do until she could meet her roommate, though, so Vienna gathered the courage to venture outside. What was the worst that could happen? She could get lost, someone could make fun of her, she could be injured or even killed by some magical accident—but surely there would be teachers and staff all over the campus. And other members of Vienna’s house would be exploring as well, so she may not be alone. By the time she had a hesitant courage to leave the dorm, her roommate had probably arrived, but she wasn’t going back upstairs now that she finally had the guts to go out into the campus.

Vienna had barely had time to appreciate the beauty of the campus when she had first arrived. Now that she’d had some time to get over the shock of everything, it was a relief to be outside and process the sight of the school. There were a few students outside when Vienna exited the dorm, and Professor Le Fay was among them, along with another woman who was saying something about rules and roommate assignments. The group headed for the common room, and Le Fay seemed to be gathering the other students to follow them, so Vienna joined her classmates in the common room to hear Le Fay’s announcement. She would have to explore the campus later, but it was a relief that the day was almost over and that she would be able to eat. It was a bit of a disappointment that she would have to leave Arvid behind, but he didn’t seem to mind. He headed upstairs, presumably to Vienna’s room. Vienna had hoped that the students would be able to bring their companions to class with them, but she supposed it made sense—although the animals’ behavior and intelligence were magically enhanced, they were still animals, and they would no doubt be disruptive in a classroom.

Vienna didn’t talk much to her classmates as they followed Le Fay to the main building. Whether it was because of nerves or exhaustion, she wasn’t up for a conversation at the moment. Just like their uniforms and their dormitory, the group’s dining area was decorated with a rainbow pattern. Vienna was sure that she would eventually get sick of the style. At least she would be in a different house after this year.

She’d expected a long list of announcements and explanations of what was to come in the following year, but the food was served just after the teachers finished introducing themselves. Vienna kept to herself during the banquet, as did most of her classmates. The only thing of note that one of them did was fall asleep on the table—Vienna recognized him as the boy whose plant creature had been strange and violent back on the ship. The meal was pretty impressive for school food; some of the dishes were more appetizing than what Vienna had typically eaten at home. She probably shouldn’t have been surprised by the quality of the food after everything else she had seen so far at the school, but at least it was a pleasant surprise.

The banquet seemed to go by relatively quickly, and once the students had been herded back to the dorm, Vienna headed to her room. Arvid greeted her immediately with a chirp from his perch. Clearly Vienna’s roommate had already been there, as the other side of the room was fully decorated. If the students’ rooms changed based on their preferences, Vienna could probably learn a lot about her roommate by examining their side of the room, but there wasn’t much to see. It was simple and cozy, which was probably a good thing—her roommate would hopefully be down-to-earth. There was also a perch similar to Arvid’s; maybe this person had grown a bird as well. Vienna could enter her roommate’s area and snoop further, but she restrained herself to respect their privacy. They would be arriving at any moment anyway, unless they wanted to stay in the common area for some reason. It was only a few minutes until curfew, so Vienna doubted anyone would be leaving the dorm. Despite being exhausted, she sat on her bed to wait for her roommate. Hopefully it would be someone she could become friends with this year. Vienna felt a bit guilty for not looking for her roommate earlier; hopefully they wouldn’t mind.

It was all well and good. Without Sprinkles approaching any closer, Arii let their comments roll off their back. They grinned that fake grin again and perked their ears at Arm-Wraps. Everything was fine.

Then the slightest brush of wind that had one of their ears twisting and their gaze following. Their pupils narrowed impossibly, orange all-but consuming their eyes as they took a cautious hop back, an electric caution running up their spine. Both ears went from perked to pinned, and they directed their gaze to the ground, all-but bristling as they bared the curve of their back to what their brain registered as an instructor. The same that were allowed to feed them to animals.

They stifled the sharp sound that boiled in their throat, though the edges of it—a soft rush of air—bled through the seams of their teeth and the guard against Fear. The same Fear that reared its head and bucked against the same guards as the instructor began a display of magic, her words flowing like water through Arii's ears, muddled and echoing. They stumbled back a step, only the Fear at being caught being disobedient flaring up through their veins with the sharpness of blade and the burn of boiled blood. Their eyes locked on the flamingo, and the book that it'd come from, more of the stifled hiss bleeding into the air in slow near-silence.

Go home.

Go home.

They wanted to go HOME.

Moraine's voice cut through the water in their ears clear as birdsong in the morning.

"You seem to be under the impression you have a choice or a say in the matter."

Arii's breath stuttered and their heart stilled, a headache immediately blooming against the joining of their skull and neck. For a moment, everything was too loud. Too hot. Too cold. Too bright. Too dark. Too loud. Dead silent.

And then it was gone.

They were almost concerned that they'd blacked out or something—that they'd lost their shit and turned into something without a brain, maybe. A jellyfish. Maybe life would be calmer as a jellyfish.

But air still filled their lungs. Their heart remained loud in their ears. They moved through grass that wriggled its way between the weave of their socks. Arii registered belatedly that they could see, eyes tracking the movement of the group of people being led... somewhere as if hypnotized. Their brain just turned off and let the attack run its course, their breathing steady and slow, though their heart still hammered in their chest as if it was a power tool on cement.

They were led to a table where they sat down, but they served themself no food. Even if they did have the will to take back their body from their brain's autopilot, the roiling, nauseating sickness in their stomach refused them. They simply sat. Sat, and stared, and answered anything they were asked mechanically—at times nonsensically. Their fingertips were numb where the wood touched them. Their ears heard things, but they never reached far enough for them to make sense of them.

For a quiet, comforting moment, they were back in Jet's workshop—his real workshop—listening to another one of his rambles about the function of bird wings—or the possibility of silver-laced feathers being conductors—or any number of things that bled together in swirling colors of blue and green in their memory.

It was only a moment.

Their eyes caught on the Headmistress, following the ears that still didn't hear. It was like watching a silent film, as quiet as she was.

By the time they were led back to the dorms, they were coming down—not quickly, but little steps. They registered what was said at the feast. They noted the people around them. They smelled the woody scent of the dorms.

They had the control to all-but stumble their way upstairs, slink into their shared room, and close the door. They slunk back from the thing, and let their shoulder hit Jet's bookshelf, uncaring of whoever the fuck was in the room with them.

They slid down to sit on the floor, gaze still muddied, and breathing positively meticulous. Cedar. They liked cedar. With its even, almost citrus smell, and the pink-red of its core. The strength and flexibility of its branches. They ran their thumb down it, earning themself a splinter.

It hurt.

Then, like nothing had happened at all, Arii took a breath, stood up, and their expression melted back into mildly curious apathy. They looked across the room at the white-haired one flopped across his bed.

Not worth it, they decided. He looked to already be asleep.

They turned to the bathroom to find something to help get the splinter out.

Ruth jolted up from her little nap. Her eyes were still red as she bewilderedly looks around the room. Frustation could be seen on her face as she realized where she was currently and her shoulders hung down in disappointment.

"I see, so it's not a dream." Pinching her own cheek just to make sure this whole witch academy wasn't a dream. Three days ago she promised some of her guildmates to help them farm an end game dungeon but guess that wouldn't happen at all. She let out a tired sigh when she heard teach Moray calling everyone to the common room and begrudgingly followed the instructions into the main building.

Ruth let out a faint whistle as she entered the main building with the other students. It looks more like a cathedral than a school hall, which was a good thing. Though she groaned when she noticed that their tables and chairs were also colored black and rainbow.

Listening to the headmistress' speech, Ruth took notes of all the teachers name and she noticed that the only male teacher was actually looks the most normal. Those eyes aside, he wouldn't look out of place if he decide to walk around big cities. The Sun Teacher looks very... overwhelming, fashion-wise. She definitely looks ready for the catwalks. Hopefully she wouldn't be as overbearing as teacher Moray. After the introduction was finished, foods were served.

Ruth was rather thankful that the foods were more or less normal. Her witch friend Millie told her about them witches eating fried frog and raw tree bark for breakfast. Ruth would need to scold that brat when they meet up. Shifting her attention to the foods nearby, she decided to just pick up some regular pancakes and ate silently while observing other students. Once finished she decided to just go back to her room and continued her sleep.

"Hm?" When she entered her room she found out her roommate was already there. A cute girl with bright eyes that didn't match the rest of her visual. Someone who also got her eyes changed? Seems likely, Ruth also wondered if her roommate had glowing blood too.

"Eh, I don't mind about those things." Ruth waved her hands at her roommate to dismiss her worry. Looking onto the bed, she found that Potato was still sleeping and was now hogging all of Mr. Bunbun for itself. She tried to woke it up with a light tap but the potato didn't even open its eyes.

"Super heavy sleeper." Ruth mumbled to herself as she picked up the potato and move it to the edge of the bed so she would habe more room to lay down, and lay down she did before looking back at her roommate.

"You can call me Ruth. Yeah, nice to meet you too." Changing her position, she's now laying sideways. Her right arms folded on the bed as her right hand lazily support her head.

"So what do you think about the academy? If you can rewind time and prevent yourself from getting that conduit moment would you do that? Any particular things that worry you about this place?" Her eyes literally glints briefly as she asked Sonia some questions. She's curious about what the other students think, her own roommates would be a good start for that.

When summoned for the banquet Hara wasted no time in concluding the small tea party she had been hosting, cleaning up her desk and fine tea cups before departing alongside her new friend and roommate. Once seated it didn't take long for the festive atmosphere to spill over from the other houses to their own nor did it take long for the food and drink to begin flowing like water. Speeches were made, arguments and jokes were shared and spectacles were put on display, some savoury and others not quite so much so. Baxter for one was quite boarish in his actions and was drawing quite a few eyes through his lack of manners and loud voice, Hara however paid him no mind and instead continued to dine on her own time, not rushed nor put off by said actions. After all it was rude to watch another eat and even more rude to stare at those enjoying themselves to no harm of others.

Once the festivities were over and done with everyone was escorted back to the dorms but before that Hara had managed to make her way in and out of the library with great haste making it back with plenty of time before the curfew. What she had rented from the library was two books, one pertaining to biology and specifications of different dragons, the other a book relating to Familiars and the rituals involved as well as the pros and cons of such a contract. Two very interesting reads to be sure. With the books in hand and Hara back within her dorm she set about reading through the books, the speed at which she did so being quite remarkable considering their size and width.

There was however an issue, though she had now read the theory she was far out of her depth when it came to understanding some of the terminology used. Her skill in magic was still too low to even practice such a thing. Placing the books neatly upon her study, Hara changed for bed and crawled inside just that. Ready to sleep she would need to further question her teachers or the librarian on such matter tomorrow when given the chance.

Whatever she had been expecting from her new roommate, immediate introspective questions were not it. It gave Sonia pause for a moment, a mildly surprised look on her face before she gave a little sigh and petted a hand gently over the soft moss atop Fern's head. What did she think of this place? There was so much to take in and so many different goods and bads, so many different paths her future could take. The unknown was always scary, but was that really all she felt? She had, quite honestly, been trying not to think about it.

"The Academy is . . . a lot." She said finally, a but hesitantly. "Everything is so different from what we're used to, I dont . . . I think . . . I think, if I'm really honest with myself, I would rather have stayed home."

She managed it with a faint smile, a little huff of breath that could have been anxiety as much as laughter, and she found herself cradling Fern a little tighter as if to remind herself that at least one good thing had happened already. "But . . . even if some of the teachers are, quite frankly, terrifying, some others seem okay. And there's a lot of opportunities to do a lot of amazing things. I think, in the end, it might all be worth it. Until then, it’s just going to be very, very difficult."

It was daunting, and even in their later teens they were all still just kids. She missed her family, and her friends, and her home, and everything that was 'normal'. She was sure they all did, to some degree or another. But there was still hope that, when it was all over, she would be able to achieve things she had never dreamed of, and be able to make something of herself and to help others that might need her.

"What about you?" She asked after a somber, thoughtful pause, shifting carefully back to sit against the wall with a pillow behind her and settling in to hear out her potential new friend. "Do you wish it had never happened?" She thought, perhaps, Ruth wasn't very happy about being at the Academy if that was the first question she chose to lead with.

Ritualistic, huh? Well- Rumi was nothing if not detail oriented, so there was a class she could look forward to. Honestly was not a fan of the bird that popped out of the lady's book, as shown by the way she not-so-smoothly ducking behind Sweetheart ( Ryan, that was his name, she should remember it even if she didn't plan on retireing the nickname ) when it appeared. Even worse was the appearance of Miss.Bitch, just as frigid as she had been on the ship. Go figure.

The woman said something or another about Sour Candy and Juvie- yeah- not all that surprising honestly. Rumi was still ever so slightly annoyed by the slight that dripped from the teacher's lips, despite it not being directed towards her in any capacity. Maybe everything the woman said just annoyed her now.

Normally , the girl would pounce on the chance to rub in the fact her roomie wasn't going to be escaping anytime soon; but not now. It felt best to lay off for a moment.

And now they were heading to a banquet of sorts. Yeah- sure. Why not?

The last remaining teachers were introduced with good time- a man with long hair and yet another flamboyantly dressed woman. Rumi appreciated the simple suit and tie the moon source teacher had opted for- It certainly seemed more fitting for a teacher. Or a butler. The second image had Rumi covering her mouth in an attempt to stifle a chuckle.

Rumi found her seat next to Sour Candy- of course. The iridescent girl was by far the most entertaining of the bunch so far, and the witch loved her entertainment. With some mild concentration, the girl picked out what snacks she could spot without meat, and enjoyed her meal... At least- as much as she could while witnessing the mild horror that was watching Honeybun decimate the dining table. Nothing within arm's reach was safe- and Rumi passively wondered if he had eaten the bones of whatever animals lay prepared as well. The scene reminded her of that old thing about throwing a corpse in a pigsty to get rid of it quickly.
Her attention was only lost when the boy passed out at the table, hunger satiated- for now.

" Huh. " Was all of the comment she could manage on the mater.

Other than the... Scene, her meal was rather uneventful. It didn't seem like the time to start harassing Sour Candy again, and so she didn't.
Until she made it back to the room and began unpacking at least. The other girl could avoid her if she wanted, but only until curfew came around.

And when it did,the door to the room was already open. Rumi was waiting- soft smile gently lifting her face.

" So, you were on the cart to kiddie jail, huh? " Busy hands folded a rather nice dark grey blouse, before tucking it into the open drawer " What did you do, punt a middle schooler? "

After having a good laugh at the expense of the frustrated and humiliated white-haired girl, Ryan fell in line with the rest as the teachers began to gather them all for the feast. It hadn't occurred to him until now, but he was starving! With the journey to the school, the first lesson with their familiars, and meeting with a few of the students, his growing hunger must have slipped his mind. A violent rumble from his stomach only gave him a harsher reminder and quickly followed the rest of his group to the cafeteria. Ryan paused for a moment as they entered the cafeteria and took in the room with an awed expression. This place was beyond any cafeteria he's ever been in before, though that probably should have been expected, but still holy crap! After letting the brief moment of awe wash over him he quickly followed the others to their table and took a seat, his eyes still exploring the amazing details and architecture of the room. Before he could continue to take in his surroundings the voice of the headmistress grabbed his attention and looked to the table with the rest of the teachers, arching a brow with curiosity as he took in the two new faces.

Nightshade looked painfully ordinary compared to the rest of the teachers, but Ryan couldn't help but keep his eyes on him for a moment longer than the rest. In his experience, ordinary people usually had the most cards under their sleeves and were more prone to dish out bigger surprises than most. He couldn't help but wonder what this teacher was capable of. The next teacher, Morningstar, made a small smirk of amusement slip onto his face from her chipper attitude. Other than her warm welcome he didn't have much to go on from her. Like his class, the teachers all seemed rather diverse and different from one another. A small part of him was somewhat excited to see what they could teach him this year. Perhaps he'll even be sporting a pair of wings of his own by the end of the year. Ryan chuckled at the thought before listening to the rest of the headmistress's speech.

After the teachers had been introduced and the food was finally delivered to their table, Ryan let his mind rest as he focused on finally feeding himself. It was hard not to stuff his face like the large human trash can across from him who devoured his food as if it was his last meal, but it was tempting to do the same with the dishes spread out amongst them. Instead, he took his time with his food, savoring every bite and just being thankful they were being fed after their long journey here. Halfway through the feast, a thought occurred to Ryan as Birch popped into his mind. He may be a wooden fox pup, but did he still need to eat too? Pursing his lips in thought Ryan decided to pocket a leftover bone from a leg of chicken with a bit of meat still attached. The mess it would leave in his pocket made him cringe lightly, but he didn't want to leave his new companion hanging. Afterward, the feast continued without issue, Ryan simply enjoying his food and listening quietly to the others around him with a stoic expression, his mind sometimes drifting in thought in between the conversations he could hear near him.

Once dinner was over and they were brought back to their dorms, Ryan stretched his limbs and sighed as the food began to work its magic, his full stomach making his limbs heavy, and his eyelids begin to droop. Before he could make his way to his room though he heard a small growl from below and felt something tugging at his pant legs. Glancing down with an arched brow a smirk of amusement slipped onto his face to see Birch greeting at the door with a lovely surprise attack to his leg, his teeth gnawing away at his pants. "Have a good nap little buddy?" he questioned with a chuckle. Birch only spats out his mouthful of the pant leg and sat up straight, glaring up at Ryan with a betrayed expression. Ryan figured his little companion was upset he had left him behind and held up a hand. "Hey, you fell asleep, and I wanted to have a look around. Besides, they wouldn't let me bring you to the banquet so you would have been left here from the start," he explained as he defended himself from the ankle-high wooden menace. Birch only gave an irritated huff and looked to the left, his tail twitching slightly in annoyance. Ryan grinned and gave a slight sigh before digging in his pocket and pulling out the chicken bone he had saved from the feast. "Is this a good enough apology?" he asked as he gently waved the bone back and forth above his wooden friend.

Birches ears twitched slightly and snapped his attention towards the bone, his mouth opening slightly as his eyes widened in surprise from the gift. The small wooden fox must have noticed Ryan's cocky grin and quickly looked away with an irritated huff and flattened ears, but still pawed at his leg to ask for the bone. A chuckle escaped Ryan before he knelt down and placed the bone in front of Birch, scratching behind his ear. "Next time I'll try to sneak you in bud," he said before Birch bit down onto the bone and began to gnaw away, a satisfied wag of his rooted tail signifying a successful transaction between the two. As Ryan picked up his wooden companion and chuckled as he munched away at his prize. Before he could head upstairs though he heard grunting coming from the common room and peeked in to see the large energetic boy doing push-ups, going on about how good the eating was. Ryan snickered and shrugged before entering the common room and passing the boy as he continued his push-ups. "Geez, can't believe you still have that much energy after all that eating you did," he chuckled before plopping down onto a couch across from him and leaning back on the cushions with Birch still happily munching away on his bone while lying in Ryan's lap. "You looked like you had nearly eaten yourself into a food coma," he grinned as he scratched Birches head. "Is that your power? Having a blackhole for a stomach and eating as much as you want?" he questioned with a tired smirk as he tilted his head further back into the soft couch.

"Yeah, I get you. That Moray teacher acted as if she owns the place." Ruth nodded at Sonia's answer. "If I get the opportunity to I would surely prank her. She might kill me for that, but it will be totally worth it."

"And as for me? I'm a gamer. Throwing fireball out of my palms and growing satanic horns would be my dream. I simply don't like school. School sucks, even if you add magic into it. That's why in most stories about school, the least thing you want to show to your audience is the mundane everyday class part. Unless it involves punching or dragon of course. I used to think a witch would raise a single apprentice and taught them thoroughly, but eh. I guess they also discover that it would be more efficient to teach kids in bulk. There is also bullies and with how segregated the school is and the fact that our dorm looks like a joke, I would be surprised if the students from another factions actually give us some respect. Also, notice that the very first thing they wanted us to do is wearing this weirdly colored uniform and this weirdly shaped chameleon thing? A very school-like move. You got a uniform, you got a uniform, everyone got uniform. Unless you're a teacher, then you don't need uniform."

Ruth paused and took a deep breath. Suddenly she realized that she had been vomiting all those words without stopping. Letting out a long sigh, she changed to a more relaxed sitting position on her bed.

"Sorry for the babbling. I assure you I'm not a negative person even with all those complains." Ruth made a pair of two peace sign with her hands. "I just prefers to vent my emotions in a more healthy way. If I don't I would probably explode." Ruth let out a dry laugh at her last sentence. It used to refer to her explosive anger, something that gave her troubles in her previous school. Though with how volatile her magic now, the explode part might be more literal than she would like.

Catoria listened intensively to lómhara, giving a brief nod when she summarized what she had practically written, she also gave another nod when she asked if her family had some benefits to it. There were a few, though that was mostly when it came to social situations outside the house and that is only if their siblings were nearby, her siblings typically only wanted to be the ones to be a nuisance to each other, and outside nuisances were unwelcomed. There was also the fact that they tended to have quiet a bit of information, allowing her to have knowledge and info in all sorts of things. Overall though it wasn't that bad, though it wasn't that fun either, having siblings that were your best friends out of the house, and worst enemies inside the house left them having mixed feelings on them overall. Nonetheless Catoria continued to sip the tea that was given to them, along with their little creature that was drinking from the cold cup. Catoria couldn't help but chuckle at the idea of them using novels in order to figure out what the high school experience was like, to Catoria there was no doubt that lómhara was pretty much spoiled rich. She couldn't help but wonder what her internal thoughts about her were, odds are she was being polite as of now, and Catoria heard that rich people can be a bit condescending towards those of a lower status than them at times, weather it was true or not she had no idea yet.

Catoria wasn't even surprised anymore when lómhara confirmed she was rich and homeschooled, there were a lot of hints leading up to the fact anyways, the fact she was heiress one of the worlds largest mining and jewelry conglomerate must have meant her family was more loaded than she initially thought. This sorta made Catoria wonder just how the currency here would differ? Would they have to abide by some new system, or would they accept the cash they are currently using? Or would they be able to transfer their own money for some of the cash here at a exchange rate, the sort of system you go through when moving to a different nation of sorts. She supposed she would find out about that later anyways; she was soon stunned by the revelations that the dragon on her shoulders was actually the one she created during the earth creation part. She was a bit awestricken and mildly jealous but got over it quickly enough. Catoria couldn't help but be mildly suspicious when lómhara proclaimed that they hoped that they would become friends in the future. To Catoria friends were a tool, one of companionship and one to be used to assist you in future endeavors, lómhara would be a good friend to have in both those categories considering their background. Though Catoria didn't ponder on that for long before she and her little creature finished their tea together, well, her creature didn't exactly finish it considering it only drank like 1/4 of the tea, but considering how small they were, it was fair.

Pretty soon they began to wrap up their little tea party, began to wrap up, and lómhara began to clean up everything while Catoria pretty much only watched and tried to make sure their little creature stayed out of trouble. When they were done, they pretty much opted to follow lómhara out leaving their creature behind in their room in a makeshift cage, she honestly had no idea what was going on when it came to the little event and it passed by like a blur to them. Her next course of action was undecided as of now, the typical chaos of being in this dorm with a bunch of other students wasn't really their idea of a nice evening out of their room. After all was said and done and the event seemed to be over, Catoria went on to explore the household on their own. in order to get a feel of the place.

One by one Baxter watched the other wild ones head off to their rooms as they passed through the common room. Seems like not everyone were as ready for more fun as he was, as some of them even seemed exhausted or downbeat for some reason. As if they didn't have every opportunity in the world just waiting to be explored, understood and thoroughly utilized.

He didn't get it, so just focused his attention on his push-ups.

He'd need his body nice and ready for the construction job he was planning. If they couldn't be outside their dorm for the night, it was fine. Baxter had decide after his little nap that he'd spend most of the night ripping his room apart and putting it back together just for the hell of it. See if he could get any cool banana hammocks going on in there.

The Do-It-Yourself home renovation community wasn't bound by mere distinctions such as normal housing and magical housing, Baxter would happily be its envoy, the medium through which it enacts its inspired works of residential art.

He was pumped and ready, already shifting to one-handed push-ups as he prepared to charge into his room and unleash every ounce of relentless, merciless fury on every plank, furniture and window inside. He would rip the very walls apart with his bare hands then staple them together with his teeth if he had to.

But all thoughts of that vanished when some guy with glow-stick arms strolled in with a wooden raccoon. He immediately gave words regarding Baxter's show of energy compared to when he was napping. Baxter swapped to the other hand as Glowstick plopped into a nearby couch with his wooden coyote. He questioned whether the good eating was the source of Baxter's... power? Implying that there was a power it could be the source of?

"Bzzt!" Baxter was quick to imitate the sound of a game show buzzer before pushing himself onto his feet and seamlessly transitioning into a furious squat routine "First mistake was assuming I need some low-tier ritual like that!"

Up and down he went, but he waved his hands in conjunction with his words as if he weren't in the midst of the most intense set of Squats in existence.

"Hungry? Eat. Tired? Sleep. Not tired?" Baxter's grin looked as though it might split his face in half if it grew any more "Well there's no reason not to be having the best time of your life!"

He raised one leg and stomped it onto the floor before cracking his neck.

"That stuff at the Banquet wasn't even in the top ten longest times I've blacked out for!" He declared before shaking his head "Probably missed some totally awesome info, but I'll just osmosis the shit outta it tomorrow. Tonight's just gonna be me, a sledgehammer, and- WAIT!"

The last word hadn't been even been towards Glowstick. In the midst of his speech, Baxter had caught sight of another wild one wandering around looking all over the place. Not only that, but she also had some kind of thing going on with her skin. It was like some psychotic school of Art-School hippies had assaulted her with a van stuffed with purple finger-paint.

Baxter had overlooked plenty of stuff since getting on the ship due primarily to his hunger. Glowsticks light-up sketcher arm tattoos were one thing, but there was no way in hell Baxter was just going to let the sentient Grape-Person stroll out of his sight without him getting the deets. He already had some idea as to why she was cosplaying half a peanut-butter and jelly sandwich, but Baxter had to hear it straight up.

"Yeah, Little Miss Grapeful!" he pointed her out before tilting his head to the head to the side "Heard some of the magic business messes with the looks when it wakes up or something. Is that why it looks like I could squeeze a delicious glass of Vitamin C outta you?"

Even if some of it was a bit strange, still, Sonia couldnt say that Ruth was wrong. Sonia did laugh when she mentioned punching dragons, but after a moment of thought realized she couldn’t say it was impossible anymore. Ruth's thoughts about bullies mirrored her own, though she didn’t feel so negatively about the dorm or their uniforms. It was just a cloak, after all. She was sure she would get used to the sleeves and the length of it which she was occasionally in danger of tripping on.

Sonia chuckled softly as Ruth apologized, giving her head a little shake. "It’s all right. If you feel like you need to talk, I don’t mind listening." She had a tendency to let others vent to her more than she vented to anyone else, which was probably a little unhealthy, but she was working on it, and trying to stay positive.

"I think our dorm is kinda cute," she admitted with a smile. "It’s a little childish, sure, but I guess we are the babies here, in terms of magical growth. At least we have our own bathrooms," she added with a shrug, thinking she should probably go utilize it to wash her face and brush her teeth, get ready for bed. "I didn't have high expectations for that, but the rooms are nice."

The way they had changed shape was beyond her, but what it had become reminded her of home, and she supposed that was where she felt most comfortable. The clashing styles of the two halves of the room was almost comical. She thought it was cool, personally, but she hoped it didn’t bother Ruth.

"I think if we stick together," Sonia said after a little pause, gently patting the back of Fern's head as she started to scooch them closer to the end of the bed where she could get her feet on the ground, "we'll be okay. Everyone has different strengths, after all, and we can help each other make up for our weaknesses." She hoped at least some of the others would agree with her.

"Ohh, I like that positivity." Ruth pointed at Sonia. "With the power of love, hope and friendship. Everything will be possible! Probably, hopefully, at least that's what I want to believe." Ruth's voice trailed off as she wasn't really sure either about what she just said. It's simply a jargon from a manga that she used to read.

"I'm going to sleep again. Night~" Having enough talking for the day, Ruth pulled the large blanket over her body. She was wandering whether to put her potato inside the blanket with her or not but decided not to. After finding a comfortable sleeping position the girl extended both of her hands upwards and performed a couple of clap and waited for something to happen...

"Shit." Woking up begrudgingly she walked towards the direction of the nearest light switch and turned off the light for her side of the room before trying to get back into her position. Truthfully, after that nap earlier she didn't feel as sleepy as before but her sleeping schedule was a mess before this so if she didn't force herself to adhere to a fixed schedule she would likely spent the class with little to no energy. Still, just because she had the motivation didn't mean sleep come easy at her. Sonia would probably notice Ruth flipping, spinning and kicking on her bed before she finally calmed down roughly half an hour later. When she woke up later she would already fell onto the floor while still hugging her blanket.

As the day progressed further and the Wild-borns were led down into the cafeteria, Caoimhe found herself quietly stunned. They were originally uncomfortable at the thought of leaving their flowery crow behind to go to dinner. After all, she was (rightfully) expecting the area to be packed with all kinds of students. And it was, but what really got her was the whole atmosphere of the place. It was larger than any other cafeteria Caoimhe had ever seen and the amount of food was more than they could picture in their head. Wow... They're... pretty well off here. She looked around and slowly the stunned feeling faded back to quiet insecurity. This was... overwhelming.

So Caoimhe spent dinner silent and ate quickly, only briefly pausing to listen to the teachers introduce themselves. Two of which they hadn't seen before like the ones who came to the Storm Rider to meet them. A well put together man and a shockingly bright woman. She took note of what they said and finished their food as the Headmistress finished her own speech. Afterwards, Caoimhe took their leave to head back towards the dorms.

Getting there took a little longer than they wanted, not having the path memorized. But she got there before curfew and gently opened the dorm door, poking her head in as she entered to see if her roommate was there now. And it did seem that was the case. Caoimhe paused for a moment, staring, before realizing they were staring and that's considered rude. They looked away, entering the room fully and shutting the door. Their form flickered slightly as the anxiety settled in her stomach. But Caoimhe forced herself to her bed and sat down, her crow edging to the limit of its perch to peer at her as she pulled her knees to her chest and just barely peaked over at her roommate. " Uh... Hi? " They mumbled, waving slightly. Good job, Caoimhe. Real smooth work. You probably look like a deer in headlights right now.

With the power of love, hope, and friendship, everything will be possible. It made Sonia laugh good-naturedly into a hand, but truthfully, it wasn’t so far off from how she felt. It could surprise people, sometimes, what honest interest, concern, and an offer of friendship could do to change someone's attitude. And there wasn't much people couldn’t get done if they all worked together to overcome each other's shortcomings. If she was honest and willing to help others, they would often give her back the same. It wasn’t true for everyone, of course, but that couldn’t stop her from trying.

"Goodnight, Ruth," she said softly, getting carefully to her feet to get her sleep clothes, turn off her light, and go to her bathroom. "I’ll be quiet when I come back out."

Fern would not be left behind, not after he'd already been alone while she was at dinner, so she brought him with her to the bathroom to brush her teeth, wash her face, and change. She was sad that he couldn’t come with her to class but could understand the reasoning behind it. It was like trying to bring a dog to normal school, she thought. Some could be well behaved, but most would cause chaos and distraction. Maybe Fern and Ruth's potato baby could be friends and keep each other company while they were away at classes.

Careful to turn the bathroom light off before opening the door, Sonia crawled into bed with Fern curled up under a corner of blanket nearby, and settled in to try and calm her mind with his small hand holding on to hers still. Tomorrow would be a new day, with its own trials. Now, it was time to rest.

Sitting cross-legged on her bed, Vienna tried her best not to watch the door of the dorm room while waiting for her roommate. It wouldn’t make a good first impression if Vienna’s roommate walked in on her gawking at them. She considered getting up and finding something to distract herself—if this was Vienna’s ideal room, there would surely be a sketchbook or some embroidery hoops in the drawers of her dresser or in the secretary desk across the room. But her roommate arrived only a minute or two after Vienna had. She didn’t recognize them, which was unsurprising, as Vienna hadn’t made much of an attempt to meet her fellow classmates. Actually, she had only spoken to one of them so far—hopefully that would change once classes started and things got a bit less overwhelming for everyone. Fortunately the student standing in the doorway wasn’t one of the witches who had been fighting earlier. Vienna still wasn’t quite sure what the cause of the fight had been, but whatever the students’ intentions, she would not have been prepared to share a room with anyone that aggressive.

The witch at the door took a second to stare at Vienna before entering the room and sitting on their bed, looking tense. Had Vienna made her roommate nervous already, before she’d even spoken to them? Maybe they were just shy. Her “Hi?” was barely audible, but at least Vienna hadn’t been forced to speak first.

“Hi.” Vienna knew she had sounded too abrupt. “I’m Vienna,” she continued in a more friendly tone, determined not to make the mistake she’d made earlier and forget to introduce herself. Arvid, who had tired of his perch, flitted to Vienna’s bed and sat on her knee. “And this is Arvid,” she said, just noticing the crow on her roommate’s side of the room. “You grew a bird too?” Not waiting for a response, Vienna chattered on. “I’ve always liked birds. I had a pet parakeet when I was a kid, actually, which is why I chose to grow Arvid. I was a little worried that we wouldn’t get to keep our animals, though.” Despite her usual shyness, when Vienna was nervous, she had a tendency to talk too much once she had started. “What’s your name? What do you think of the school so far?” She hoped to give her roommate a chance to talk, but it may have sounded more like an interrogation.

Caoimhe froze at the questions their roommate-- who they had now learned was named Vienna-- shot off one after the other at them. " I- uh- " they stuttered and Caoimhe couldn't help but feel the way their magic settled like a rock in their stomach. The same kind of feeling she had at her conduit moment. The crow of hers on the perch sidestepped back and forth, seeming just a bit concerned before cawing at her and. Caoimhe flinched, looking up at the bird and blinking before sucking a deep breath in as they pulled the corner of the blanket under them over their lap to play with it in their hands as they looked over at Vienna. Caoimhe avoided the direct eye contact she was more than aware of would cause her to panic worse.

" Um- Hi, I'm Caoimhe... I uh-- " Its okay, you've got this. Don't panic, just answer the questions. Its not like she's coming over here. Deep- deep breaths, Caoimhe-- " I- I did, yeah, he's a crow... I think? I- we haven't figured out a name for him yet. I've... never had a pet before. And uh- the school? " They paused, brow furrowing as they looked back down at the blanket in their lap. How did they feel about the school so far? It was... It was very pretty and very large. And Caoimhe knew that it was more than likely that they were going to get lost a lot these coming days until they figured out where everything was. The teachers seemed... well they were a lot, that's for sure. At least the ones the students had talked to. And the classmates? Well, they seemed alright so far. Save for the group Caoimhe had vaguely noticed nearly starting a fight on the Storm Rider. That'd probably not have gone very well if they did. She wasn't sure how to feel about how they had been randomly tested on Earth magic either... but Caoimhe looked at her crow. She might very well be biased on that feeling since she hadn't managed to finish his wings. They frowned and looked back over at Vienna, trying very hard to not look overwhelmed at the thought.

" I... Its a lot to take in. And very new to me. "

Korri sat sleepily in his chair at the banquet he had been whisked to in his state of tired and confusion. He listened as the teachers introduced themselves, all of them where women except…of course…the moon source teacher who was a fairly decent looking man with blood red eyes. “Yea so it’s a fact, all the teachers are hot” he yawned whilst talking to himself. He was bummed that Omo wasn’t allowed to come with him and sat back in his seat trying not to fall asleep.

After eating one or two plates of beyond delicious food, he slight wobbled back to the dorm to where he could see his classmates interacting in the halls and in the common room. “Yeaaaaa no” he mumbled feeling his already small social battery heading into the negative numbers and he simply wanted to fall into the comfort of his bear fur blanket that his grandfather gifted him on his twelfth birthday.

Entering the room, he noticed the other side had shifted into a more livable space and a boy with white hair laid on the bed. “Uhh hi I’m…” he stopped when he realized the boy was asleep “stupid and will introduce myself in the morning” he muttered under his voice and held his arm out for Omo to land on him “I missed you buddy” he smiled rubbing the owls head “time for bed, something tells me tomorrow will be even more hectic” he sighed and walked over to his bag that had yet to be unpacked before grabbing a pair of shorts and a sleeveless shirt that read ‘hug me I’m scared’.

He laughed at the shirt before crawling into his bed and snuggling Omo on the pillow next to him while the bear fur cover warmed his body almost to the point of sweating “damn it’s hot” he mumbled pulling the cover back slightly. As if the room heard him, the temperature on his side of the room seemed to drastically drop to the point where Korri started shivering. He yanked the cover back on to his body and snuggled closer to Omo as his eyes slowly fluttered close.

Korri didn’t even realize how tired he was as he completely passed out soon as his eyes closed, the stress of everything that happened today finally hitting him like a truck.

Before Catoria could get far in their venture a voice made them nearly jump up from where they were standing, two tall men that they failed to recognize, though to be fair, there wasn't much to note about them so they blended in with most of their peers decently well. The way they spoke to them, they had to say it was the first time someone greeted them like that, their next line left them a bit perplexed though. They gave a slightly confused look towards them before giving him a slow nod of affirmation, she couldn't help but wonder a bit if that last line was a attempt at a joke. Either way she tilted her head as a sign of curiosity, though she made no real effort to approach them, she did however give them a curious look. After a moment of contemplation, she decided to try to communicate with them a bit through basic actions, she created a small whirlwind on the tip of her finger, the little ball of air was powerful enough to be noticeable but small enough to not cause any harm. Clasping their hands together she got rid of the little ball of wind, before then taking her same ID card she gave to others and using the wind to glide it towards the strange man. Then pointing at him as if beckoning him to introduce himself and tell them what magic they were best with.

She then looked towards the other man that was with him tilting their head at them as well, a signal as to say they were curious about them too, though they were unsure if they would pick up on their signals. They figured it would be best to know as many of house mates as possible since it would give them a grasp on what relationships they should forge, who to avoid and what friendships to pursue. Plus having as much information as possible was always beneficial, though this thought made her shudder a bit as she couldn't help but notice that she was definitely her mothers kid with that line of thinking.

The odd boy became even odder as he made a buzzing noise and pushed himself up from the ground before beginning an energetic session of squats. Ryan fought hard to hold back a laugh, his grin spreading across his face in amusement as the boy began to point out the error in his assumption so casually, acting as if he wasn't in the middle of an intense workout routine. He arched a brow in curiosity, silently wondering if this guy was just putting on a show in front of him for appearance's sake, or if this was his normal go-to attitude. Either way, there was no doubt in his mind this man had an infectious aura of energy about him. A slight urge to get up and join in the workout routine crept through his mind, but his tired limbs and full stomach kept him anchored to the couch. So, for now, he'd enjoy the show and share his company with his fellow dormmate. Ryan pursed his lips in thought as the boy listed off the lack of reasons you shouldn't be able to have the time of your life and shrugged with a slight nod. "Fair enough I guess, but-" before he could finish, he jumped in his seat from surprise as the boy suddenly slammed his foot on the ground, Birch letting a surprised yip as he nearly toppled off his lap. Birch gave an irritated glare between Ryan and the boy before letting out a huff and returning his attention to his bone, crawling out of Ryan's lap and flopping onto the couch to avoid another close call.

Meanwhile, Ryan simply stared at the boy in slight confusion, a small smile on his face as he talked about the banquet and how that wasn't even the longest time he's blacked out. So blacking out was a regular occurrence for him? Good to know. Giving a tired chuckle at the thought before spreading his arms on the back of the couch and crossing one leg over the other. As the boy went on about his plans for the rest of the night Ryan arched a brow as he abruptly stopped himself once something seemed to catch his attention. For just a moment Ryan could only compare the sudden action to an excited dog spotting a squirrel to chase. Following the boy's gaze, Ryan lazily rolled his gaze over to spot another one of their dormmates he hadn't met yet. He was a bit taken back by her dark purple skin, barely noticing the slight blue mixed with the purple. How did he not spot her out of the crowd earlier, she seemed like she'd stick out amongst a crowd. As she looked over to them Ryan held up a hand to give a tired wave, a small smile lazily slipping onto his lips as he silently greeted her. Before he could say anything though the boy spoke first and Ryan had to cough a few times to hide his laugh from the name he called her.

"Miss Grapeful? Really?" he questioned in a low enough voice for him to hear as he looked at the boy. The nicknames in these dorms are both a curse and a blessing. The amused smile on his face soon fell slightly as he brought up the subject of people's appearances changing after their awakenings and leaned back in his seat. The foot hanging over his knee slowly rotated as he thought about the strange effects of gaining their powers, though he smirked as he made the comment about being able to squeeze vitamin C out of her. Glancing down at his right arm with a slight frown as he slowly began to sink into his thoughts. It wasn't an extreme change like some of the others here, but the markings running up his arms was more than a pain to deal with. "Hopefully they explain it to us tomorrow. I'm sure some of the others who had bigger changes than me are just as curious. Sort of hard not to ask what the deal is behind it," he said in a low voice, rotating his arm as his eyes traveled up and down his arm to follow the twist and turns of the markings on his arms. The sound of whistling wind caught his attention and looked up at the purple-skinned girl, his brows slightly rising in surprise to see a whirlwind on the tip of her finger. Once she brought her hands together Ryan followed the card she pulled out as it began to drift through the air towards the boy. "Cool," he muttered, impressed by how well she could use her powers. With his interest peaked he rose to his feet and walked over near the boy, looking over his shoulder to inspect the card while making sure not to intrude on his personal space.

Ryan arched a brow as he read the name on the card. "Catoria Veltora," he mused aloud, letting the name sink before looking back to the girl only to see her already looking his way. She tilted her head at him and in turn, he tilted his towards her as the wheels began to turn in his head. Was she mute? Ryan stared at the girl with a stoic gaze, clearly curious about his dormmate before letting a grin spread across his face. "Cool," he said before taking a step back from the boy and burying his hands into his pockets. "Good to meet you. Names Ryan, Ryan Teller," he introduces himself and nods towards her. "Cool magic you got there, goes well with the whole silent vibe you got going on," he chuckled before clearing his throat, realizing it may have been a bit rude to point that out about her. "Seems way more easygoing than my magic, plus you seemed to have a decent handle on it with that card trick of yours. I'm still just capable of crushing rocks and bending the earth. Not as... what's the word?" he muttered before snapping his fingers. "Graceful, I think?" he shrugged before a realization dawned on him.

"Hey," he said as he looked at the boy and nudged his arm lightly. "What's your name by the way?" he questioned as he glanced over to the boy with an arched brow.

As soon as Vienna snoozed off soft whispers echoed in her head and before she could notice around her the entire scenery had changed to a green field. "Hello there." Now there she was, a girl with a chameleon tail and rainbowed details on her skin and clothes. "Moraine is so shortsighted, she can't see your true calling. Cast on me The Rhinemann Ultra."

ferlan-mosong-star-guardian-neeko.jpg

A golden grimoire appears in the middle of her hands. "Find the Ars Paulina... Within its pages you'll find the spell." The book springs open, the pages glowing a faint golden light. On top of it the image of Professor Morningstar is clearly discernable. "She's the keeper, for now. You hold within you the potential to become the new one, I can teach you how." Then the book vanishes and afterwards the chameleon does as well.

The heiress dream isn't so peaceful, wooden snakes tie her to a tree as a blonde elven woman looks down on her.

Druid, Jinseok Choi (NIC).jpeg

"This? Really? A spoiled wild born... You think you can defy me?" As the snakes tighten their grip, Cloch's own bracelet springs free from her arm turning into a full grown dragon. The woman looks visibly surprised as the earth drake exhales his breath with a powerful roar, a green flash blinds her for a moment and when everything comes to focus once more the bracelet is once again in her arm but her captor is nowhere to be seen nor her familiars. Interestingly enough, the next morning she awakes with bruises on her wrists, ankles and neck that eventually fade half an hour later.

Felix and Caoimhe have a dreamless night and when they wake up they both get the feeling there's something wrong with their room. Their side is alright but the other, they don't remember having seeing such a display nor meeting their roommates the day before. Their awareness over this begins to fade as soon as their morning sleepiness does and by the time they are eating breakfast they've completely forgotten about it.

Bellatrix's and Rumi's dreams are another story altogether, they both spend the entire night solving life threatening puzzles inside a castle of gothic architecture, they've survived for what feels like two hours and 50 scape rooms by the time they hear her. "Good, quite impressive. A couple of Wild Born like you should have died long ago..." The voice belongs to the blonde girl owner of the castle, which happens to be sitting in the couch behind them. Her only visible eye is crimson red while the other one is covered by an eye patch.

"I was going to test all of you moon siblings but something weird is blocking my magic, odd, I put so much work into my dream palace." She sighed, this wasn't exactly what she had in mind when she planned this whole thing out. "You two are promising tho... If you manage to survive your first year I think you would fit into Blue Wolf just fine." She then clasps her hands and the dream ends, the memories about it a bit foggy but not entirely lost.

Korrnelius finds himself wandering once again in a green field full of green life. This time however there's someone there, the elven girl seems a bit upset at him for some reason. "You have any idea of the delicate balance I must keep around here?" She holds a staff on her left hand and a grimoire on her right one. "I don't know how you keep getting in here but it has to stop."

goyo-200818-16.jpg

She's about to banish him when the plants around him grow to try to protect him instinctively. "Hmph... That's unusual." She puts her staff aside and searches through the pages of her book for a moment. "Korrnelius Edgar MountCastle? You're a bit early, it seems." Her free hand digs inside the page she's reading, taking out a seed shaped green jewel from it. She hands it over to him, not entirely happy about it. "That will keep you from coming here involuntarily... And also allow you to come whenever you want to, I guess." She rolls her eyes, training a rookie wasn't on her schedule for today. "Do avoid getting here unless it's strictly necessary, I'm a busy Dryad and you are about to be a busy student." Her staff flies back to her left hand and she taps the earth twice with it, ending the encounter. Aside from keeping his memories from this and the jewel, he has the same experience as Felix and Caoimhe.

Everyone else has a good night of sleep and wake up unaware of whatever changes happened through the night. A staff member pays them a visit in the morning and hands them out their class schedule. There's enough time to take breakfast at the cafeteria before the first class of the day each day and a lunch break as well, they are also informed that they can freely move around the campus common areas until curfew time.

At 9 o'clock everyone is supposed to be sitting in classroom 1-C for their first class, they are greeted by a new face. "Good morning, everyone." Says a dark skinned young looking woman, her deep blue eyes have a streak of gold in them as does her black hair. "My name is Helvetica Scribanus, I'll be your Witch Culture and Laws teacher."

As she tightens her gloves some of you recognize the symbol in them as the same worn by the abjurers that picked you up yesterday. "Sorry I missed the welcoming banquet, I was busy doing some clean up." She looks at Ruth when she says the last part, clearly her little streaming incident had something to do with it. "Now, unlike the rest of your classes, you'll notice that there's only other Rainbow Chameleons here." She takes a pause, allowing everyone to confirm this before she continues. "Long story short, you're the only ones that need this class. The rest of students do not only come from well established bloodlines but have also received prior basic education."

She stands up from her desk and begins to walk around the classroom. "You will meet your fellow Sophomores later, on the rest of your classes. The main objective here is to help you get acclimated to our society, I suggest you all to take full advantage of it." She stops moving once she reaches the center of the room. "I'm sure you have plenty of questions... Let me tell you a story."

With a snap of her fingers the entire room shifts into a post apocalyptic scene filled with blood splatter and severed bodies, sulfur in the air and screaming from every direction. "Let's talk about how Wild Magic almost destroyed us all, shall we? " You see a creature flying by, white winged and enormous in size. It easily destroys a nearby town with some sort of light based magic, until 4 witches work together to slay it down.

bluezima-dong-wook-shin-14.jpg

lómhara could easily recognize the blond one casting earth magic, as it was the same woman that tortured her in her dreams last night. "The Regents... They stroke a bargain with the sources of magic, they pledged to restore balance to our world and in exchange they got the power to keep the monsters at bay." Visions of the world healing back and society rebuilding are seen before the room shifts back to a regular classroom. "Now, I'm not that into speeches and lecturing. So let's do something more dynamic, ask me anything you want to know about witches and I'll answer you." That said, she went back to her desk and took her seat once more.

Arii didn't sleep.

They were never good at that—much less in a new environment and having to wonder if they could refill their prescription in this... little personal hell that'd appeared out of the woodwork.

They didn't even know what time it was, and had to gamble on it being 20:00 when they took their pill. Wonderful. Perfect. Just great.

With irritation scoring prickling lines up their arms and along their shoulders, they settled at the tiny table at the end of the false workshop, loose leaves of paper in hand and mind swirling in violent circuits. Around, and around it went, spitting vitriol and snide remarks to an uncaring host. They moved the little bird creature from the windowsill, their ears primed to make sure they could muffle it should it wake up. It only stirred once.

They ignored their brain's suggestion to squish it.

No. Instead, they settled themself at the table and tapped lightly at the pencil case, surprised to find that it was actually metal—that it actually opened. Their ears perked up, a bubbling excitement rising to their throat.

They found a charcoal pencil and a soft cloth in it.

Both of Arii's ears flattened so far and so fast they thought they might have pulled something in their face. Damnit. What was it? What was these people's deal with anything bearing some semblance of modern. The excitement turned quickly to something sharper. It boiled, biting and slashing at their throat as they worked to keep it down with measured breaths.

They shoved the giggling, swirling comfort that offered itself to them away, cautious. That feeling made magic, and frankly they needed less of that in their life.

They turned to paper and... eugh... charcoal, instead.

The hours faded into paper and line. Into designs and diagrams. Into such that Arii internalized every detail, yet could never explain properly. They dozed occasionally, head leaned against their own shoulder for perhaps an hour at a time, but never properly slept.

By the time the sun came up, they had slipped out of their own dorm room and slunk their way to the common room, their hands streaked with black that Arii knew wasn't coming out any time soon.

Someone found them with their schedule soon after, and Arii spent the rest of their time memorizing it as they found the classrooms associated with it—hey, if creepy people in their weird little cloaks could meander around and wake people up, Arii could too... maybe not the 'waking people up' bit.

Hours later, they were the first in the 1-C classroom, paper for notes in hand, and a new, burning distaste for whoever designed the damn school. Still, they stayed quiet and alert as others filed in and class started.

They tried to ignore how being close to a member of the staff made their stomach churn. Or how if they couldn't get their prescription refilled, they'd have to deal with all of the side effects of chemical imbalance.

Fuckers.

The teacher's little lightshow gave them a headache. Still, when she asked for questions from the students, Arii's hand shot up and—unprompted—questioned spilled from them all in one breath—thank you, band.

"Why'd you guys take our tech? How did you guys take our tech? Isn't that supposed to be illegal? It's not contraband if it's not on school property—we had no way of knowing it was contraband, actually—what's this 'feeling' teachers keep talking about without properly explaining—It's a very vague description, and frankly, I'd like to think most of us have more than one emotion at any given moment—why is murder legal here—or torture, I guess—one of the two—why are teachers threatening students with murder for being students—actually, why is your application process for your school run like an online scam—why is there no way to tell time in the dorms—why do we have to pick one source when we graduate—why are you so secretive about where your school is—why does this school not seem to have outside contact with anyone—no, like, seriously, why can't we even have music—why is one of your teachers' first instinct to emotionally degrade teenagers—why is there not infrastructure in place to help mitigate wild magic damage—what's your magic rooms' deal against pencils—" Arii paused just long enough to blink in silence—"Those are my top ones."

The true easy courage was sleep deprivation, they decided.

Korri found himself dressed in his uniform and absentmindedly entered his class, ignoring a student who was already in the room, he remembered seeing them on the ship but choose not to speak and sat in a desk in the back of the classroom.

At some point, the teacher entered the class as He leaned back in his chair unintentionally ignoring her as she introduced herself. “Dryad?” He asked himself “that field…a nature spirit?” He mumbled lightly chuckling at the use of his mythological geek knowledge his parents swore would never come in handy “what did she mean by i was early, and what was that green jewel?” The questions piled on and on as the beautiful grassy field plagued his mind with the dryad standing in the center, scowling at him.

Korri was brought back to his senses by the sudden shift of the room that went from a normal class to a bloody battle field “huh” he looked around before seeing the giant white creature floating above them “ Holy Crap” he all but shouted, almost falling out of his chair, his previously cyan eyes now glowing an emerald green that contrasted with the bloody scene around them. He listened as she explained the history and gave a questioning expression when she said they struck a bargain with the sources. Where the sources living beings? They had to be right? How would you strike a bargain with the moon.

While those are all good questions” he spoke up looking at Arii before his gaze shifted to the teacher “how does one connect to a source? Let alone bargain with one. A professor gave us a brief lesson but I feel like we should know exactly what is giving us these abilities and what we are tapping into without prior knowledge” he meant to be serious, he wanted to sound knowledgeable but it came out sounding more like fear. What did these teachers have all these kids tapping into? What exactly are these sources they keep talking about and what was the deal with that dryad.
