[IC] Catching a Troublemaker

Dakota Eimear

Due to the fact that they were currently directly linked, Dakota took the brunt of the scream from Kassana in her head. It was the first, and basically only reason she came to yet another abrupt stop. She didn't respond right away opting to nurse her now slight headache and catch her breath. After a minute or so, she stood up straight again and turned around to look back at the factory she'd just took off running away from.

"I... Have no idea." She responded aloud to Kassana's question, confusion heavy in her voice. "Why were we running?" She repeated, this time in a soft whisper as she ran a hand through her hair, effectively messing up the already tousled locks. "What... happened in there...?" Another question neither of them would really be able to answer. They had to go back.

With a sigh, she started towards the factory, bound and determined to actually catch up with the boys and Naia this time. She really didn't have far to go this time, as she hadn't gotten very far away before Kassana had stopped her. In no time at all she arrived back at the doors to the factory, where she lingered on account of the horrid stench that was basically rolling out of the place. A few bracing breaths and she stepped inside of the factory.

'S-something tells me... It w-was a good thing we weren't in here...' She commented to Kassana as she took in the sauce covered room and her teammates. Her eyes came to rest on Kalin for only a second. The poor boy looked... terrible to be completely honest. She glanced to Jack a question in mind for the boy who so resembled herself. That question never came as she noted Kalin needed him more at the moment.

Upon locating Virgo's retreating back, she scanned the room for the little gremlin who had probably been the cause of this. The little disgusting bum trying to wiggle out of a window. Oh hell no. That thing was not getting out of here. If it got out, who knows where it'd go.

With that thought in mind, she began to move farther into the factory. 'Kassana... Any suggestions?' While Virgo as chasing the troublemaker directly, she set about finding another way to get to it in the meantime. Maybe they'd be able to trap it between the two of them, or at least prevent it's escape. She probably could have just attempted to shoot at the thing from there, but her aim was poor enough as it was. There was no point in adding in the maze of machines between her and the target.

Virgo Capri

He was almost there! This was the final stretch! With a surge of speed, Virgo all dashed straight for the cape-ruining perpetrator.
"I got you no-WHOA!" He cried as he felt one of his boots all but dunk themselves in a large puddle of sauce before sliding against the floor, causing him to slip and fall belly first. With a short yell of alarm, he belly slided at the creature before the thing jumped out of the way, allowing the Golden Soul to slide right into one of the machines, face-to metal. It was a miracle he wasn't losing anymore teeth at this point.

Virgo felt himself a clench a fist at another ramble from the goblin, as well as the sounds of little feet. Little feet getting away. At once, he tried to understand them. To try and find a way to at least decrypt them just a little so he could try and solve this whole problem peacefully. But now...it was starting to annoy him. He was practically shaking in anger now, his hands slamming against the sauce covered floor before he hefted himself up, the front of his shirt covered in dripping red, as well as most of his face now, but it was more of the frustration's work in turning it red than the sauce. It showed no remorse.

He looked at Kalin.

Not for his friends.

He looked around at the factory.

Not for public property.

And with an eye-twitch, he looked at his cape.

And not for personal belongings. ESPECIALLY HIS!

"YOU CAN'T RUN FROM THE CONSEQUENCES OF JUSTICE, YOU FIEND!" Virgo cried and stomped his foot, his tone of pure vengeance and rage piercing through the air, before he took off after the retreating menace, green eyes tracking its small form taking the bottom of the machines as cover. The coward! The smell had gotten worse, and from the combined effort of the pungent order, physical activity, and the anger, a massive headache pounded furiously. But he ignored all of it once he turned the corner and saw his target about to escape the window.

No. Not again. Not this time.

"THIS! STOPS! HERE!" The boy yelled one more time before he darted forward and grabbed both of its ankles just before it could escape, grinning widely in victory and malice before beginning to pull.

Kassana Silverstream
As confused as Dakota was about the situation, Kassana found herself to be even more confused because she wasn’t really seeing any of the details of the situation with her own eyes. They were all coming to her second hand and she wasn’t quite the best at filtering out unneeded information just yet. All in all, that created a rather overwhelming situation for the weapon girl. She saw everything about their situation that Dakota did, but she was also taking in extra information and it took her more than a minute to filter through it.

By the time Dakota asked her if she had any suggestions, Kassana was only just piecing together what she was looking for suggestions about.

Kassana took in the window and she took in the state of Virgo in his pursuit. She wanted to believe that Virgo had caught the annoying little vermin, but she couldn’t bring herself to accept that as fact.

The little creature was still close to a window and considering where Dakota and Jack and Kalin now were, going the other way wasn’t exactly an option for the creature. They could cut it off from the other side of the window.

‘Well, you could try a shot from here,’ she mentioned, ‘or a better option might be to run around to where the window opens on the other side. If you have the breath for it…’ This mission had actually turned out to involve a lot of running around and Kassana didn’t want to make assumptions on her meister’s stamina, particularly when her own stamina was quite literally pathetic.

Kalin Mickleson

Jack's frustration was evident, and Kalin silently withered. He'd really fucked it up this time. He'd put his whole heart on the line, and it ended how he feared. He fought off the trembling, he'd seen and felt this all before, there was no point. He had no words for his meister, he'd feel his disappointment in a moment. There was no reason to gather up his courage, it would end up either being all in his head or it will end up shattered on the floor. He felt sick and he felt weak. But the mission wasn't over, and he couldn't bring further shame to Lord Death. "W-We still have work to do..." He enveloped himself in the golden light of his transformation, the blade landing on the floor.

Jack could decide whether he actually wanted to go on with him. He wouldn't hinder the mission, one way or another. He wasn't as brave or as strong as he had thought before. He'd laughed internally at Virgo, yet here he was the one on the floor. What the hell was wrong with him, and why did he think he could be anything more than a sword? Storybooks are storybooks, and heroes aren't cut from his cloth.

Jack successfully managed to bring the Indian back to what was currently left of her senses when he spoke to her. Naia blinked and turned her head towards Jack for the duration of his speaking, though the only response he got from her was a brief nod. A moment later, she started off after Virgo, careful not to lose her footing on the sauce covered floor. She didn't stop to notice Dakota and Kassana had arrived, nor did she really care at that moment in time. She had a massively angered Virgo to catch up with and an imp to stop.

She caught up with Virgo, just in time to see him go sliding face first into one of the large metal machines. In the few moments afterwards, she stopped to watch and make sure he was okay, despite the fact that the gremlin had long moved on. It seemed she needn’t have worried about him quite so much as he got up not too long after, and after a rather loud exclamation, tore after the troublemaker again. This time, with Naia trailing not far behind. As it could be expected, when they did catch up to the Gremlin and her meister managed to catch ahold of the thing’s ankles as it was attempting to escape through the window.

Her movement stopped just slightly behind Virgo as she wondered how the heck she could help in this situation. She hurried to the possibly not-so-great conclusion that she’d simply grab ahold of the thing too, that way if something happened, maybe at least they’d be able to keep it from getting out of the building. This in mind, she moved up to Virgo’s right, and reached out towards the gremlin. Her hands found their spot quickly, just above the shorter boy’s on the gremlin’s legs.

The little Gremlin was caught off guard as hands caught hold of its little ankles. Its squirming continued as it was yanked. The creature wiggled, its gibberish words escaping in panic. He held his staff up seeking a last minute resort to escape. A brief chant came out just as another set of hands gripped its ankles. A sudden foul smelling gust of wind errupted from its body as it secreted a rather unpleasant slimy and slippery greenish clear liquid from its body. The last resort it had! The gust sent the creature back, its rear finding itself planting directly into Virgo's face.

The creature only stayed still for a second, its feet pushing off using Virgin as a diving board, utilizing the motion that had caused Naia who was gripping on to fall forwards towards Virgo if she decided to keep her grip. It was at that point the now slimy troublemaker slipped its ankles from from the two, jumping onto the head of Naia before pushing off with a great deal of strength, the moment pushing to carry Naia directly face to face with the poor butt rest and diving board Virgo, their lips threatening to touch in the oncoming collision.

The gremlin flew off tumbling along the ground smacking into the side of a machine, the mixture of sauce and its slimy secretion mixing in a disgusting mix. It shuffled up glancing up noticing Dakota standing not far at all from him. The messy creature seemed to pause for a second, letting out a sudden sneeze, sending out a yellowish mix of yellow snot, mixed with some of the red sauce spraying towards her. It turned quickly, slipping a little from its own slime. It began to run again, turning away 90 degrees to start running to the side towards more machinery for cover finding its escape route of the windows temporarily blocked trying to make a break for it to hopefully find another window or escape route to escape from.

Jack Trinity

“You sure?”

Still, even as he asked, Jack didn’t hesitate to pick up the weapon that clattered onto the floor. If Kalin had felt too ill to continue, Jack would’ve had no problem with quitting the mission. The thought of disappointing Death didn’t particularly upset him. Losing a game did a little. But then, that was how games worked. You win some you lose some. There was little point in continuing to play if his partner wasn’t feeling up for it.

“You’re braver than you look,” Jack smiled. “Or rather, you try too hard, mate. But then, I suppose, that’s what makes you Kalin.”

Jack watched Virgo and Naia struggle to hold down the disgusting creature, voicing the thought that passed through him as he studied the gremlin “We’ll need a cage of some sort…”

Unfortunately, there would be no time to look for one as the tiny goblin leapt free from Virgo and Naia causing the weapon-meister pair to collide face to face. Unable to help himself, Jack let out a low whistle at the amusing scene. The disgusting thing knew spells. Of course it did. What sort of magical creature being kept at a school as strange as DWMA didn’t? Though, from what he’d seen thus far, nothing it did seemed particularly harmful. Jack had panicked at the bomb in an almost embarrassing manner. It had been nothing but a prank—disgusting though it was.

Perhaps I’m being too cautious.

Still. It was hard not to be without his die. Sighing, Jack pulled his bowler hat low, letting his feet take him in the direction of Dakota.

Hold your breath.

It probably wasn’t necessary since Kalin was in his weapon form, but Jack thought it regardless. Driving the short sword downward with both hands, Jack split the spray of slime/snot/sauce before it reached the older girl. As much as Jack wanted to catch the little bugger, his friends mattered to him more. Besides, it would be a shame to see the timid girl who shared notes with him covered in sauce. Violet eyes tracked the gremlin as it ran towards the machinery.

“If you could at least hit it in the legs, that would be wonderful,”
Jack commented to Dakota before quickly following suit. Seeing the gremlin slip away from the combined grips of two of his classmates made Jack wonder whether his attempts of catching would be any better. It wasn’t as if physical strength was his forte. He’d have to wear it down first. Or cut off its legs. Stopping beside a furnace, Jack let his target take cover behind the machines. Even he lost sight of it, he could still feel its soul. Not malevolent. Playful. Mischievous. A prankster’s soul, possibly dangerous, but not intentionally so. Why hadn’t he felt it before?

“Come out, come out wherever you are~”
Jack called as if he didn’t already know where it was.

The smell of the factory was gradually getting worse and worse and he wanted the bloody mission to be done with quickly. Still these sort of games took time. Maybe. Jack rounded a conveyor belt, feeling for the direction that the gremlin was headed towards and moving through the maze of machines in a way that allowed him to cut the creature off before it could reach its intended destination.

“There you are.”
Jack said, stepping forward to block the gremlin’s path. Kalin was spun idly around his hand. “Are you done playing? Professor Hiro wants you back in one piece, I think. Sad to say I’m not Professor Hiro and a sword isn’t a non-lethal weapon.” Grip tightening around the handle of the short sword, Jack tapped the flat of the blade against his free palm, tilted his head, and smiled. “Let’s just go back to DWMA before someone gets hurt, Kay?”

Virgo Capri Virgo gritted his teeth as he held on to the gremlin's ankles like his life depended on it. And yet even though he had it right in his grasp, it still felt as though the gremlin had the upper hand! It was hard to keep a grip on it with its squirming, its odd slippery skin almost breaking free several times. Not to mention the effort it took to avoid slipping in the sauce again. He could do this! He just had to...eh? Virgo saw something move in the corner of his eyes right before Naia came up beside him, grabbing hold of the ankles as well. A big grin appeared on his face, his face of frustration breaking away into a face of gratitude and delight! Hi-His partner! Naia was helping him! With a nod in her direction, he turned back to the task at hand. Right...Right! As long as he had people behind him to help, there was no way he could fail!

...If only he had been aware of the Jinx he set upon himself.

A few seconds later, a gust of wind, a putrid one at that, blasted in Virgo's face, causing him to squint his eyes. Wh-What? His eyes soon widened in surprise when he felt the slippery skin get...well, get more slippery.
"What in the name of JU-" He was interrupted by the Gremlin breaking free of his grasp and landing butt first on his face, causing his mind to instantly blank. Did it just...Virgo yelped when he felt its feet slam into his face and push off, causing Virgo to quickly scrunch up his face and look at where it was going, frowning and shaking in irritation. "And just where do you think you-MMMF?!"

And then his lips pressed against something softer than a gremlin's foot.

Virgo was face to face with Naia, green eyes staring into dark yellow ones, as time seemed to stop. His right eye twitched as feelings of confusion and shock sparked inside him, a large blush spreading across his face right before the two tumbled to the floor. Regardless of if the two were still touching lips after that or not, he laid on the floor, mind trying to process what just happened.

Dakota Eimear

Dakota was about ready to attempt to go around to the outside, opting not to shoot at it in case of accidentally injuring Virgo or Naia, when the gremlin managed to slip free of both Virgo and Naia. How it managed that she wasn't quite sure, but it didn't matter. What mattered now was containing it again. Her eyes traveled around the factory, briefly pulling her focus from the troublemaker, to attempt to pull together a brief plan. She hadn't even noticed how close the gremlin had come to her, nor the disgusting projectile sent her direction until after Jack had already prevented the mess of slime and snot among other things from hitting her.

She focused on the task at hand, her eyes trailing after Jack as he went after the gremlin to figure out at least a direction. Her pursuit lead her in the same direction, following Jack for a few moments, before she found a machine that was safe to climb. She made use of that opportunity to get up to a higher vantage point, and then continued to follow after the gremlin, carefully picking her way over any machines she could get to. Her pursuit was slow, as she had to be rather careful on machines that might happen to still be working for whatever reason, and sometimes had to find alternates ways around due to large gaps in machines.

Just as a heads up... She began to Kassana as they drew closer to catching up to Jack and the troublemaker, I'm terrible at shooting at... anything really... my aims bad or something... So... if we miss the thing... It'll probably be my fault. She finished, and fell silent for a moment, as they'd arrived atop a machine not far behind the gremlin, Jack had already gotten in front of it by then. She stuck to what shadows she had there, and knelt, watching and waiting. Ready to act when it was needed.

Who knows... Maybe he'll manage to catch it. She added on, then remained silent, holding Kassana in front of her carefully.

The chain of events following the meister and weapon pair and their grab at the gremlin caught the Indian girl very off guard. One moment, they had ahold of the slippery creature, and the next it had landed butt first on Virgo's face. The very surprised Naia didn't think to let go, or rather by the time she'd been pulled forward and the gremlin had slipped free, she'd only just realized what had happened.

"Agh!" She exclaimed as the gremlin used her head to launch itself away from them, and her towards Virgo. The pair where face to face, quite literally, not even a moment later. Lips met lips in a strange turn of events.

A blush rivaling the darker skinned boy's spread across her face as her brain finally caught up with the situation. Both her eyes were wide and shocked as they met her partner's eyes. A few seconds after they hit the floor, Naia pushed herself up and away from Virgo, reacting without thinking. She sat on the floor not far from Virgo, staring at the side of a machine as she worked through the chaos running rampant in her head. This wasn't something she could mentally write off as 'Another Strange Occurrence In Death City'. She was not exactly sure how to handle it.

Eventually, she shook her head, and drew in a heavy breath of air. "Virgo... We need to catch up with the others..." She breathed out, her voice not exactly as calm as usual, but it was evident she was trying. Pale green light enveloped her as she changed. The bone dagger landed on the ground not far from whichever of Virgo's hands was closer to her, within easy reach for when the boy was back to himself enough to continue. Not that she was really all that ready to keep going either. It was better than doing nothing.

Kassana Silverstream
Dakota’s demeanor was something that shocked Kassana to a degree where she wasn’t quite sure how to respond. Usually, Kass herself was the quiet one, the one who didn’t know what she was doing, and the one who was afraid that something was going to go wrong with whatever it was she and her meister were trying to do; this time, though, it seemed that the roles had been reversed. Had they, though? Kassana still wasn’t entirely sure what she was doing. She didn’t know how they could catch the little gremlin who seemed intent on escaping them. She didn’t feel like she had any answers at all.

There was one thing she did know, though. Kassana knew that if Dakota gave her a wavelength to concentrate, she could make sure it didn’t miss. Kassana knew that much about how her weapon form worked and she was sure that she could make that much happen. All she needed was for her meister to actually give her some wavelength to work with.

Their movements were nothing to the slingshot. She barely noticed them. Most of her focus was elsewhere, anyway… keeping a focus on the odd little creature’s very unique soul. She wasn’t sure if it’s uniqueness was a good thing or a bad thing.

“If you move to shoot, you won’t miss. I can do that part… I think,”

As much as she tried to sound confident, she became hesitant towards the end. She’d never actually taken charge of aiming before so she wasn’t truly sure this would work. She only hoped that it would.

Virgo Capri

Virgo was, simply put, a boy of constant energy. Always running, always walking, always talking, he did it all. But after everything that just happened, he honestly felt his energy draining. Both in physical and mental terms. It was one thing getting slipping and sliding in rotten tomato sauce. And it was another thing slamming into walls and machines left ad right. And his cape...well, that was when the line was drawn, but still! And now...now this. Was that really what a kiss was? He didn't really...feel anything. He had seen people do it before, but it seemed like only couples and people in the movies did it. Wait, did that mean him and Naia were a couple now? He was so confused. He didn't know what to think of it...but what he did know that enough was enough.

"Virgo... We need to catch up with the others..."

"...Hmph! You're right! " He replied with a voice of determination, slowly picking himself up and turning his attention to the bright flash of green light. He crouched and picked up Naia before jogging in the direction the little destroyer of society went. After a few moments, he had soon turned a corner and came across Jack and Kalin (In his weapon form) in front of the thing. With a huff, he quietly stepped behind it, grip on Naia tight and with an expression of determination. This time, it wouldn't get past him. "NOW this ends here!"

The little Gremlin skidded to a halt as he witnessed Jack stepping forward stopping him from his dash forward. As energetic and crazy as it might be, even he had his own limits. Still, he wasn't about to give up, he tasted freedom and he wanted to keep it! All he had to do was escape the building and hide away for a bit to rest... then he could go back to causing more trouble around town. It was all about escape as the wide eyed gremlin suddenly dipped its little staff into the mess of sauce on the floor.

"Wakakakakaka!" It called out in its muffled tone, suddenly flinging the staff forward, the saucy mixture flying forward aimed straight towards Jack's face. Using the chance, the little creature suddenly darted forward, diving quickly between Jack's feet, using the sauce and its own slippery slime to slide on the ground between jack's legs and dart forward. Its little frame could be seen more easily for the others, forced away from some of the machinery as it attempted to move around the boxes and other objects in the room seeking to make it to the other side of the factory attempting to make its way towards an open window on the other side.

"NYAKAKAKEE KOOOOO!" The creature chanted in its gibberish as it waved its stick around causing a light glow. It was at that moment a loud sound ripped through the factory... the sound of nails screeching down a chalk board. The noise was continuous, reverberating from the staff attempting to disorient the Students in a last ditch effort to make its final break for it as it came closer and closer in its great attempted window escape out of the factory and away from their attempts to capture it and ruin its 'fun'.

Kalin Mickleson

Jack easily and comfortably took Kalin back into his hand, and the Meister likely felt the weapon's wave length falter for just a moment before becoming more steady than it had before. He could make time to mope later, when he wasn't Galahad . Galahad always finishes the job. Galahad seeks justice and loves mercy. Galahad certainly didn't let his failings get to him like this. No. Where Kalin fails, Galahad will succeed.

GALAHAD
"A cage may not be necessary my friend. I believe with a conk to the noggin with the flat of my blade may end up being enough to set him to rights. Then we'd just need some chain or rope." Galahad stated levelly assessing the situation. Virgo made a valiant effort, he can't be faulted for that, but ended up a buffoon. Galahad noted a trend, however filed it away politely. Fussing over other's shortcomings was beneath him. He was a good at heart, and that's all that mattered. Well besides finishing the mission, keeping a positive attitude, protecting Jack and his allies, delivering the world from evil and all of that stuff, but you have to start somewhere. 'I'd prefer not to reap such a thing.' the blade responded to Jack's little threat, but there was some give..

The creature seemed to be intent on testing Galahad's resolve not to kill it. Another assault of Tomato Sauce. Once again Jack is sheltered as Galahad throws his will into rolling across the back of Jack's hand, into the air infront of Jack's face, splatting the tomatoey mess aside with contempt, before falling within the easy grasp of Jack's other hand. And then the unholy racket started, and it became a time for action. The non-demon weapons were going to have a rough time. Yeah. This wasn't going to fly. 'Jack, I know you're probably not keen on this, but either you need to throw me, or you need to make up a lot of ground quickly.' Galahad looked up at him through the blade, rather than Kalin.

Jack Trinity
The ease at which Kalin, or rather, Galahad, moved to deflect the sauce impressed Jack. Proud. Assured of its goals and its own ability, Jack could tell the instant Kalin’s alter ego took the reigns. There was subtle difference in the way their wavelengths matched. Truth be told, Galahad’s confidence was probably a closer match to his own personality…if slightly…compared to Kalin. But then, more similar didn’t necessarily mean better partner. His die had chosen Kalin, hadn’t it?

It was always right on such matters.

Kalin was frustrating. Prone to odd moments of fear and recklessness. A boy whose self esteem had taken a beating from whatever dramatic past Jack didn’t particularly want to delve into. The same boy who leapt out of weapon form to protect him from the spaghetti sauce bomb. For some inexplicable reason, win or lose, Jack wanted to finish the game with him—even if Kalin was utterly crap at games. The fact that Kalin had to wear a knightly armor to continue playing was a testament to the boy’s insecurity.

Galahad was a crutch.

Just like his die.

Legs already moving after the slippery little creature that escaped between his legs, Jack opened his mouth to respond to his weapon, but the ear-splitting noise created by the gremlin drowned out anything he had to say. Forced to stop and block his ears, Galahad’s voice then reverberated in his mind, offering suggestions.

Throw or close the distance?

With his glasses off, he could tell that the gremlin was within shooting range of Dakota and Kassana. And now that the thing was driven out the maze of machinery, it was an even easier target. Wouldn’t throwing Kalin/Galahad at this point disrupt their aim? Risk his partner getting shot at? He could hear his uncle telling him how strategically dumb tossing one’s weapon was. But his uncle wasn’t here—and the gremlin was too close to the window for comfort. Even Dakota didn't miss and could slow it down, she'd needed someone there to catch it. Taking a deep breath, Jack changed his grip, raising the short sword like a javelin above his left shoulder.

Throw it is. I hope you know what you’re doing.

A couple steps forward and Kalin/Galahad was release from his meisters grip, blade aimed at the retreating gremlin’s back. Fortunately the path was cleared when the creature moved aside the machinery in its attempt to escape…so there were no obstacle in the demon weapon’s way at least. Whether Kalin would return to his human form to avoid reaping the thing or remain in weapon form for safety. Whether Dakota would shoot the staff(to stop the noise), the area in front of the gremlin (to stop it in its tracks), or the gremlin itself. Not to mention the timing of his throw. It was all a gamble. Leaving things to luck and fate. That was how Jack rolled. He'd nearly forgotten.

Ears still ringing from the racket reverberating throughout the sauce covered factory, Jack straightened, his hands in his pockets as the fifteen year old went to search for something to restrain the gremlin with. His die as well. Can’t forget about that.

Dakota Eimear

Dakota listened to Kassana and nodded. She didn't really have anything to say in response to that, so she stayed silent and watched as Virgo and Naia caught up with Jack and Kalin. The gremlin made another break for it. "Not happening." She muttered to herself, and lifted Kassana's weapon form in front of her. She focused on her soul wavelength, trying to gather enough of it for Kassana to be able to use. She wasn't the greatest ranged meister around, but she a lteast knew that was how ranged weapons worked. By using the meister's soul.

We need to-- She started trying to speak into the link when the sharp sounds ringing out through the factory cut her off. Reflexively she shrank into herself, the once ready weapon now held up by her head as she went to cover her ears. This wasn't good. This was really not good. She grimaced, grit her teeth, and pulled her hands away from her ears again. Ears ringing, she positioned the slingshot in front of herself again and drew it back. She didn't actually let go yet, on account of Jack throwing Kalin at the gremlin. She needed to see where the blade was going to end up...

The noise needed to end. Now. She decided to trust that Kalin had the sense to keep out of the line of fire, and drew in a breath as she attempted to aim. The staff... That's where this noise is... That's where we'll aim... Dakota stated into the link. She hesitated a moment longer, then let go, hopefully shooting at the staff, but if she missed and hit the gremlin instead... well, both would work. Just so long as they didn't hit Kalin. Soon after shooting, she brought one hand up to cover an ear, and watched, hoping and praying they'd finally catch the blasted imp.

The Gremlin's desperate attempt to flee only continued as it made its way closer to the window. Its little body scurried around the machinery, navigating the messy floor with relative ease although limited in the paths it could take. The staff continued to emit the noise screeching at their ears as it was prepared to make its final escape. All it had to do was get to the window and slip out and he would be home free! Just a little bit further to freedom and away from the unfun kids!

The pellet from the slingshot rushed through the air. The Gremlin wasn't at all aware of the shot as it flow through the air, the loud noise of its staff adversely making it much more difficult to pick up on a much more subtle noise. As the creature landed from a jump, the staff was struck directly upon its head. The sound only grew more intense, the sound of fingers on a chalkboard reaching a note far worst then before briefly. The staff was pushed forward suddenly the bottom of it striking Goblins gut before dropping to the floor.

"GRAKYU GEE KAAA KOOO!" His voice escaped from his sown lips from being hit by its own staff. It had served as enough of a distraction as a weaponized Kalin flew at him. The Gemlin looked up in panic shuffling to move only to be struck by the thrown weapon as he was sent toppling over onto the ground face first into the saucy mess on the floor.

Kassana Silverstream
In the moment that felt like it lasted ages, Kassana was trying to pay attention to what was happening around them; she was trying to, but quite honestly, she was failing at it because she still wasn’t used to trying to focus while in weapon form. It was all still… fuzzy. Kassana knew she needed more training and she thought, at one point, that perhaps that was why Lord Death had sent her on this mission in the first place. Without a partner, the only way she could practice was with another meister who lacked a partner and Dakota was just that. ‘Does Lord Death actually think things through that much?’ she couldn’t help but wonder.

Her thoughts had been wandering to so many different places that she’d almost forgotten about what really required her attention in that moment. As Dakota’s wavelength had started pouring into the holster, Kassana had completely missed it.

‘Shit!’ Kassana cursed. ‘Sorry Dakota.’ Those were the only three words she had time to mentally output, though. Then she had to get to work.

Kassana mentally calculated the amount of wavelenght that Dakota had poured in and then added her own to the holster. The two energies mingled together - not perfectly - but not too differently either that a shot was impossible. The bolt unleashed and Kassana knew in that same instant that there was nothing that could send it off course. In that moment, her attention to the world was almost perfect because she could actually see - and laugh at - the impact of their shot.

Then her mind screamed out, enough to reach all of the meisters in hopes that one would listen.

‘GRAB HIM!’ For only after they caught the gremlin could their mission be done.

Virgo Capri

Virgo watched the Gremlin's back with wolf-like intensity. This was the final showdown. He didn't know where Kassana and Dokata were, but with the rest of them here, it couldn't get away now! And from the way it just stood there, even Virgo knew it didn't have anymore tricks up its sleeve. Virgo smirked, feeling his soul getting excited and struggling a bit to keep in tune with Naia's. This was it! They're finally gonna complete the mission! Everything's gonna be A-Oka-wait, what's it doing with the staff-?

"Wakakakakaka!"

Virgo's eyes widened in surprise when he saw the Gremlin fling a big glob of tomato sauce at Jack right before darting forward and sliding under said dice meister's legs. If the normally forgiving vigilante didn't have a grudge (and still had a clean cape), he would've found its persistence to be one of its most and only admirable traits. Before Virgo could even tell Jack to watch out, it seemed Gallahad already had it covered, causing Virgo's eyes to momentarily widen and a big grin to appear. So cooool...wait, the Gremlin was getting to that window! Not cool!

"NYAKAKAKEE KOOOOO!"

And now there was a loud noise! Super not cool!

Virgo's body tensed up for a moment to sprint after the Gremlin, but forced himself to stop when he saw Jack turn around and throw Galahad! Not to mention seeing something wiz by through the air above him, causing him to turn around to see Dakota and Kassana positioned on top of a machine. What happened next was a series of events, Galahad hitting the Gremlin and whatever Dakota shot hitting into the staff, stopping the noise that felt close to bursting his eardrums.

There was a small moment of silence where Virgo just stood there, blinking in wonder at the events that just took place...

'GRAB HIM!'

And THAT was his cue to run after the Gremlin.

Running into the scene, the Vigilante spotted one of the sole causes of this disaster: The staff. An Idea popped into his head, and Virgo picked up the staff, putting down Naia in a spot that wasn't covered in tomato sauce, before using both hands to slam it down into the floor, a sharp crack resonating through the factory, causing him to smile a bit. No more magic!

And with that, he threw the broken staff away and went over to the gremlin before reaching down and wrapping it in a tight bearhug before lifting up.
"Go-Got it!" He grunted.

And no more running!
