Fantasy I am your villain - Dark Fantasy RP

Bunesh

Filled with DETERMINATION
What would you do in search of justice for your family, your friends and, your people? This is the question you faced after witnessing the massacre of your home and everyone you loved and cared about by soldiers of the Dorn Republic. The High King of Dorn, King Vaelictus Dorn IV - has long sought to bring the continent under his heel, and see the flag of Dorn flying from coast to coast.

In pursuit of that goal, he committed the greatest taboo and broke his kingdom's seal of magic.

Hundreds of years ago, magic nearly destroyed the world, from rampaging beasts with strange powers to the power-hungry making shortsighted deals with eldritch beings, the world was brought to the brink of ruin. It was only the creation of the six seals that stopped the chaos from reaching a point of no return, six seals created in what would become the six great holy cities of the land.

And Dorn was one of them.

Nobody ever thought he'd actually do it, breaking his Kingdom's seal and inviting the chaos back, but he had and in doing so unleashed strange magical beasts, and was able to equip his soldiers with bizarre machines that ran on magic, giving the Republic of Dorn's forces a decisive and overwhelming advantage. They rolled over defenses and crushed resistance wherever they went, taking two holy cities and shattering the seals therein, leaving only four great Holy Cities left.

And along the way, your simple and peaceful village was razed, the inhabitants butchered or enslaved. You only escaped due to luck and the sacrifice of your parents who hid you in the cellar and then died protecting it, leaving you as the sole survivor of the massacre. But the return of magical powers was not limited to Dorn, and had bled over to other parts of the land, and you were one such recipient being infused with the power of light, suggesting that your family may have had a more divine heritage.

Setting out, you sought to end this insanity and get justice for the innocents lost and so to that end, you formulated a plan. It took years, time, and patience but you made your way into the Dorn army and shot up through the ranks with your warrior skills while honing your light magic in secret. You kept your outrage at what was done to the conquered and bided your time, building a network of support from soldiers to nobles, all of which eager to see the mad king brought to heel and made to pay for his cruelty.

And then the unexpected: you met the princess.

Thanks to your skills and the silver-tongued whispers of your allies in the king's ear, you were awarded a high honor: to be the bodyguard to her Royal Highness, Princess Eve of Dorn. She was nothing like you expected; sheltered from the world, lied to and kept isolated, she was entirely unaware of the happenings of the world, of what her father had been doing. A good person, a genuinely good person who loved her father - or at least the man he pretended to be around her - and was kind to her servants.

But your position as her guard was too valuable for you to pass up; it got you close to the king, as close as you've ever been, and with a weapon.

So again, you waited patiently growing closer to this young woman who had such big dreams and hopes, a pure and innocent worldview that saw the good in everyone, until the anniversary of the King's Coronation when all the King's allies would be gathered to party and celebrate, and that's when you and your allies struck, to cut the head off this venomous hydra, save the land and avenge all those slaughtered for one man's ambition.

And it almost went perfectly.

You waited until Princess Eve was away, having retired to her room to rest before launching the assault, and at first, it went perfectly, but you were slowed by having to fight the Crownguard, giving King Dorn time to flee though you were soon close behind. You cornered him in his room... and that's where you saw The Princess, Eve was awake and confused and frightened, standing behind her father who held a sword wreathed in violet, ebony, and scarlet energies. She begged for an explanation but there was no time as soon you were fighting with the king, who struck at you again and again with his dark sword, but it proved ineffective against your holy light, and when you made the decisive blow, he tried to block but his sword shattered. Your aim was true and you cut him down, a brief surge of triumph as the architect of your suffering and the suffering of thousands of others was now dead, but your joy was short-lived when you spied Eve laying prone, blood oozing out of her face.

The exploding sword had showered her in red hot fragments that cut deep into her face, and now the foul magics contained within that blade were seeping into her. You didn't have time though, as the battle caught up with you, forcing you to prioritize the rebellion over the Princess and so you fought until the palace was claimed and the king's head was on a pike.

But what of the Princess?

You had to walk a thin line between merciful but strong and so you didn't have her executed and instead imprisoned - though this was merely a front to ensure her safety, and allow your healers to try and find a way to remove the toxic metals and foul magics within. You couldn't be seen as overly sympathetic so you had her moved to an island off the East Coast, where she would be far from the conflicts that had erupted and the unexpected civil war that followed the vacuum left behind by the king's death. You were placed as the lord of the City-State and from there could hopefully try and keep the anger and unrest from growing too far out of control, while keeping the foul magical beasts at bay.

During this time you received reports from the healers and mages trying to undo the magic on the Princess, and they were always the same; her condition was unchanged and she was deeply uncooperative, which given the circumstances was understandable, if not frustrating. But then one day you received a new report: Eve had escaped.

PM me if interested, this would be an RP with two focuses: one would be on your character consolidating their power, repairing what was destroyed by the last King, and generally trying to be a good and just leader and hero, or whatever kind of leader you want to be.

The second focus is my character (Eve) and her velvet-like obsession with revenge, picking up stragglers and the like and being an angery but vulnerable and angsty ball of sad.

This has open pairings, and is super LGBTQ friendly.
