However, some members of Daybreak weren't interested in fighting. They were much more interested in studying magic. So, members of Daybreak decided to form a sister organization called the Arcane Academia, which was dedicated to spreading knowledge about magic and its origins, as well as teaching especially gifted people how to use it.
However, disaster stuck as a member of the Academia, going by the name of Reine, gifted with the power of aqua magic and skilled with allure spells, sought to unleash havoc on the Earth and overtake it for herself. In truth, she was simply a vessel of corruption, tainted by an otherworldly being known as Hecate. Hecate was a goddess of corruption who could not stand up to the others in the the Realm of the Divine. Unsatisfied by only ruling her plane of the Phantom Vale, she decided that, if she couldn't rule the entirety of the Realm of the Divine, she would overtake the human world and rule that instead.
She embedded her own consciousness into the body of Reine, effectively stealing her soul and sending it to The Phantom Vale. Hecate learned that their souls were still linked to their elemental aspects, and devised a plan to use that to her advantage. She took the souls of humans with aspects of the other elemental and, when she had collected them all, drained their magic and used them to create the first Spirits, elemental lifeforms that caused disturbances in the human world. Any human that worshipped her creations was invited to join her. In doing so, she created Nemesis.
Daybreak and the Academia settled on working together - Daybreak would slay spirits and protect the members of the Academia from the, while the Academia would try to pacify and study the spirits. For a time, this was all the humans could do.
That is, until Allora, Goddess of Dreams and her sibling, Nakos, God of Wisdom, reached out to Daybreak and the Academia respectively. They offered a solution, but it came with the sacrifice of magic. The Academia finally found the answer to the question of the source of magic - it came from the Realm of the Divines, but that was where the problem began. Allora and Nakos offered to seal the link of the worlds to stop more damage, but doing so would seal the humans abilities as well. It was the only way, however, and so the seal was put in place. The Phantom Vale was also sealed from the rest of the Realm of the Divines, trapping Hecate there forever.
Thus ended the Mystic Era, and began the Era of Rebirth. The humans were forced to adjust to life without magic, and over time, the records that magic existed were thought to be fantasy stories. Most thought that there was no way that something like that could ever have happened.
Forever was not forever, as Hecate broke the seal. Though Allora and Nakos knew this was possible, they had believed Hecate would have no more means of creating Spirits. In reality, extracting the magic from the souls was the catalyst to Hecate's understanding of the elements, allowing her to replicate them to create more, as well as reawaken the magic that laid dormant in humans. With the knowledge in hand, Hecate took her physical form to Earth, settling at a tourist destination known Puy de Dôme in France, hoping to prey on the minds of the people and give Nemesis new life.
Determined to stop Hecate, Allora and Nakos vowed to rebirth and lead organizations of Daybreak and the Arcane Academia and slowly but surely regift the magic to the humans.
That is where our story begins...
- Daybreak's theme colors are Pink Sherbert, Popcorn Yellow, and Lemon.
- Sister organization to the Arcane Academia; relies on them for spirit information and in return grants their members protection from spirits that go haywire.
- HQ is on an artificial group of islands known as the Casrial Archipelago, located in the Pacific Ocean and shrouded from the eyes of non-magic users by a special aqua-allure spell.
- The Arcane Academia's theme colors are Sapphire, Royal Purple, and Dark Lavender.
- Study spirits and work to see if they can pacify them.
- Sister organization to Daybreak; gives them for spirit information and in return requests for their members protection from spirits that go haywire.
- HQ is on an artificial group of islands known as the Kirrior Haven, located in the Atlantic Ocean and shrouded from the eyes of non-magic users by a special aqua-allure spell.
Both organizations have a lot in common with each other, being:
- Members are sorted into teams of 2 to 5 members that operate together
- Other than slaying/studying, there are some 'professions' around the base.
> Culinary - Focuses on creating rations for those on missions as well as preparing food for the members of the organization in general.
> Smithy - Focuses on creating weaponry and tools for the members of their organizations
> Tailoring - Focuses on creating clothing and armor for the members of their organization.
> Environmental - Focuses on making sure the wellbeing of the base and islands are okay, as well as keeping up a garden and, in the case of the Academia, the habitats for captured spirits
> Medical - Focuses on healing any injured members of the organization, as well as supplying teams medical kits.
> Scouting - Focuses on gathering information about the spirits and other world events that may concern their organization.
- Professions all have their own islands, save for the Culinary profession, which operates in the main HQ building. An island for dormitories, however, takes it's place.
- Bridges connect the islands.
- On the main island, there is an airport and a boat terminal, which is where teams set out on their missions.
- Team members do not need to be in the same profession.
- Allora and Nakos recruit members via dreams, unlocking their magic and leaving a message in a person's room once they awaken, giving them access to an allure teleportation spell to their base. Once there, the person is allowed the choice of which organization they'll join.
- Nemesis's theme colors are Arsenic, Onyx, and Blood Red.
- They worship the spirits.
- Hecate is said to be the 'mother' of spirits, or their creator.
- She preys on the minds of the weak to 'corrupt' them and get them to join Nemesis, almost akin to brainwashing.
- Their base is located at the base of a dormant volcano in France, hidden from non-magic users by a special terra-allure spell.
- While the profession still are technically there, they are not official and anyone can do anything, and sometimes are even ordered to do something specific whether they want to or not.
- Nemesis typically divides their members into smaller 2-3 person groups called families - the stronger families protect spirits that Hecate does not want to lose, the weaker are fodder.
- Dorms are very small and cramped compared to Daybreak and the Academia's more luxurious dorms.
- They travel exclusively via allure teleportation spells due to being based in a tourist destination.
- Hecate recruits via tampering with the mind or inviting those who worship the spirits to join Nemesis.
The two elements do not need to be compatible for a combination magic, but if they are, a person can use it without combining their spells with a partner.
Each element has a theme color.

AQUA - Water (Lake Michigan #50A6C2) - Ignis (Steam), Glaze (Freeze), Terra (Mud), Voltage (Shock), and Tempest (Typhoon).
LUCENT - Light (Sunglow #FFCC33) - Can combine with Ignis OR Voltage (Flash)* and Shade (Eclipse).
SHADE - Darkness (Titanium #B6AFA9) - Can combine with Lucent (Eclipse).
GLAZE - Ice (Pale Aqua #BCD4E6) - Can combine with Ignis (Melt), Aqua (Freeze), and Tempest (Hail).
TERRA - Earth (Earth Yellow #E1A95F) - Can combine with Ignis (Magma), Aqua (Mud) and Flora (Nature).
FLORA - Plant (Shamrock Green #009E60) - Can combine with Ignis (Burn), Terra (Nature), and Virus (Toxin).
VOLTAGE - Electricity (Electric Yellow #FFFF00) - Can combine with Aqua (Shock), Lucent (Flash), Tempest (Storm), Chime (Thunder)
TEMPEST - Air (Lichen #C0D9AF) - Can combine with Aqua (Typhoon), Glaze (Hail), Voltage (Storm), and Chime (Windstorm)
CHIME - Sound (Toolbox #746CC0) - Can combine with Voltage (Thunder) and Tempest (Windstorm)
VIRUS - Poison (Fandango #B53389) - Can combine with Flora (Toxin)
* - A triple combination, Effulgence, is possible if all three are used together.
There are two sub-types of magic that do not count as a full element, yet some humans may be gifted in the art of them. (This is the only way one can have three or four associations)
