Hand-to-hand Combatant Nathaniel had never really fought for most of his adult life. But when serving under Waller, he learned to fight quickly, he's formidable and should never be taken lightly. While there is always someone better than him, Nathaniel is a force to be reckoned with in close-quarters.

Genius-Level Intellect – Nathaniel has a Masters in Physics and Engineering, and usually applies his knowledge in his laboratory when developing something.

Marksman – While working with Waller's Task Force, Nathaniel was trained to handle weapons and was an exceptional shot. However, as Hyperion, his gun use is cut down to when it is needed or when he is told to do so. Either way, you can rely on his shot.

Peak Human Physical Condition – To be an Astronaut, Nathaniel had to train his body extensively, just so he can withstand high G-Forces. As a result of his low-gravity training, Nathaniel is able to maneuver incredibly well in the vacuum of space. Nathaniel is as strong, fast, and agile as a human being can be.

P E R S O N A

Although usually kind and considerate, Nathaniel can be very prone to being ill-mannered, and sarcastic when he is Hyperion. Acting as if his two identities were two separate people. Nathaniel justifies this by saying he NEEDS to act differently as Hyperion.

However, these are some of the only differences that arise, otherwise Hyperion possesses the same heroic traits that Nathaniel possesses. One of these traits: courage.

Since Nathaniel is a very achieved astronaut who has survived nearly dying in the vacuum of space, he has little to nothing to be afraid of. This courage plays well with his various capabilities as a vigilante.

A very key point of Nathaniel’s personality, with or without his suit on, is his loyalty to the greater good and great people. While in civilian clothes he will abide by the rules and laws of society, but when he dons his suit, Nathaniel may find himself outside the law a few times to get the job done.

Oddly enough, Nathaniel isn’t a very serious person, despite his extensive training and studying. He finds relief in a mock-carefree attitude, but in truth he hides his growing discomfort.

This discomfort is a product of Nathaniel’s PTSD. A result of the events that took place in space. When triggered, Nathaniel freezes up and goes into a slight panic attack, thankfully it doesn’t happen often.

Like his parents, Nathaniel is exceptionally bright. An impractical genius who when isn’t on the job, is always looking to improve his capabilities.

The Hexagons- Can be used in a number of different ways, from forming melee weapons to restraining a Meta, thanks to their small size and hexagonal shape, The Hexagons are also very durable and possess a micro magnet that works in tandem with Nathaniel's suit.

Pole Tag – A "tag" that coats an object in a magnetic charge, Nathaniel can then manipulate the object. The pole tags exert a larger amount of energy and aren't used very frequently.

The Environment Being an astronaut has made Nathaniel very crafty in a fight, utilizing his surroundings proves to be the best comfort when he is in a skirmish.

Mk. 23 Rifle – A Rifle with specially-made ammunition, able to stun or kill if the proper ammo is inputed.

S U I T

Mk. 56 – Once a space suit, the Mk.56 is a piece of advanced technology that is interfaced with Nathaniel’s nervous-system . A suit that can control magnetic forces at the user’s whim, and provide targeting and real-time live feeds of whatever Nathaniel needs thanks to an uplink with various different satellites. The suit is very durable, much more so than it was before it’s various upgrades.

The Hexagons – A product that Nathaniel developed himself, named after their hexagonal shapes. They can be used for virtually anything, so long as they aren’t destroyed. The hexagons are made of very durable material, making the production of them tedious but the payout worth it. Roughly 5 inches in diameter, they contain a high-powered micro-magnet inside and often are used as a form of defense or as detainment. Their magnets are strong enough to detain a Meta’s movement if they were to wrap around the Meta’s wrist and/or ankles.

Personal Electromagnetic Field Usually not visible, a small EM field surrounds Nathaniel’s suit at all times, running on a separate battery source than the rest of the suit. One of the two power sources coursing through the suit. This EM field acts as a defensive aura at all times, primarily for stopping bullets, unless Nathaniel decides to use it otherwise. It can be used to attach to certain surfaces.

Jetpack w/ storage – Nathaniel has built in a jetpack to the suit if he were to ever need it. The jetpack is primarily used as housing for the suit’s batteries. Along the sides of the jetpack are two separate chambers that hold his Hexagons, they pour out of small circular openings when he uses them.

Pole Tags – A specially designed device to coat an object in a polar charge, they come in either positive or negative. There are very destructive ways to use these tags considering that the attraction or repulsion can be used with up to 200 pounds of force. However, the tags require larger amounts of power and aren’t as optimized with the suit as the hexagons.

Repulsive Shockwave (Aimed EMP) – A shockwave that can push an enemy away and can temporarily disable electronics. It is emitted from the palms of the Aether suit, this is essentially Nathaniel manipulating the personal EM field that surrounds his suit. This is a surefire way to drain battery life.

Inhibited by PTSD – After his attempted murder in space, Nathaniel developed Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, which causes him to either freeze up and forget to breathe or to lash out in a panic attack.

Non-Auxiliary Battery Life – Nathaniel has developed a battery that can last 36 hours if he were to use his suit’s abilities at their bare minimum. However, he if used his abilities at their max potential the entire time, the battery life would be down to about 6 hours.

Mortality – Just like any other human, Nathaniel can die from a mortal wound. God forbid it happening, but if it does? Well if no one is around to save him than it may be too late.

His life was perfect: he was the well-rounded all American boy that everyone loved. His parents were geniuses, innovators in their own respective fields. They couldn’t have been happier when they heard of Nathaniel’s desire to be an astronaut.

Nathaniel breezed by school, dual-enrolling while in high school, double majoring in Physics and Engineering. All while acquiring his masters at 22. As much of a scholar as he was, Nathaniel took up sports as well. His days were always filled with potential. Nathaniel’s existence couldn’t have been better.

Soon, after two years with the required training, Nathaniel became an Astronaut for an organization called Celeste. He was assigned to accompany a team of five other astronauts to mine K-87, a large asteroid and Earth's first off-planet mining zone. Nathaniel was equipped with the newest space-faring suit, the first to use magnetic bearings in place of a tether, as well as state of the art mining tools.

However, Nathaniel's team weren't the only ones on K-87. Russian Cosmonauts had just beat them to the asteroid, and they were not partial to finding out about the American's arrival. It didn't take long for the cosmonauts to ambush Nathaniel and his team as they were mining.

The Russians soon captured and restrained the American astronauts and began sabotaging the equipment and stealing as much as they could. Nathaniel wasn't the first to stand up to the Russians, in fact he was the second. The first one died. Charles Montgomery, captain of the K-87 Calypso Mission, took charge and attempted to oppose the Russians. That brave man soon met his end by coming face to face with a bullet.

Nathaniel was the next to attempt freedom, he waited until his captor turned their back and sprung into action. With his hands still restrained at the wrist, Nathaniel took the Russian by surprise. Using the chain of his cuffs to take the cosmonaut down. The gun was free of the enemy's grasp, and Nathaniel took the opportunity to claim the gun for his own.

After managing to kill the remaining cosmonauts and rescuing his team, Nathaniel and the remaining astronauts arrived home safely. But not without repercussions, Nathaniel would develop PTSD and would subsequently be fired following what happened on K-87. Yet, none of that stopped him from what he did next.

Nathaniel stole one of Celeste's space suits and began to work under the guise of Hyperion, he did whatever he needed to survive. That meant anything, Around this time, a lot of Nathaniel's weaponry were still prototypes. He began tinkering with the suit's magnetic capabilities and began creating gadgets he could use in tandem with them.

Before Nathaniel could stoop any lower, he was reached out to by Waller. Nathaniel was personally trained by his patron extensively, taught how to properly handle a gun, and even refined his hand to hand capabilities. Waller even aided Nathaniel with his own psychological trauma, and even though Nathaniel still possesses it, it isn't as much as a problem.

Nathaniel was granted amnesty on the grounds that he continued to work with Waller, to which Nathaniel happily obliged. The Astronaut expelled from the Cosmos, fallen from glory, soon became a hero once more, for an even greater good. Now, Nathaniel is living a cushy life, constantly improving his gadgetry, as well as his capabilities.
