Here is where you can read the nitty gritty details of the role play. If you have any questions about the setting, mechanics, or anything else, feel free to post your questions here, and I'll answer them as soon as I can. I'm also open to suggestions if you think something might improve the role play.

- The world is an immensely treacherous place, filled with dragons, beasts with scythe-like claws and gnashing fangs, and creatures that could end the world by purely existing. With monsters lurking around every corner, it sounds impossible for people to relax, take it easy, and enjoy life. Imminent doom looming over a person's head does wonders for their mental health, and the thought of a precious home being smashed to pieces like a flimsy sand castle only adds to the fear.
It is in this world, a world riddled with destruction and carnage, where you play an important role.
You are a Monster Hunter, an honored and respected person in this society. It is your duty to brave the world of terrifying beasts, and slay them where they stand. You must do what few could ever muster the courage to do. You are a protector, a collector, and an aid to important research. Your work will leave you regarded as a hero, a savior to cities that could have been trampled under clawed feet and dragon fire.
And your story is only just beginning. - The setting will take place in the many villages and biomes of Monster Hunter. I'd say the only ones we'd be leaving out are the ones in Monster Hunter Online and Monster Hunter Frontier Online, since I don't think too many of us would be familiar enough with those games. I think the areas we'll be mostly focusing on will be the ones mentioned in the 3rd generation and above, as the later generations are the ones most people are familiar with. We'll also probably leave out the spin-off, side-story games and only focus on the main franchise as to avoid confusion.
All locations are fair game when you're going out on a hunt either by yourself or with other characters, as long as you don't teleport suddenly from one area to another during a quest. For example, you can't be hunting a monster in the jungle area and then suddenly end up in the tundra. Go with what makes sense to you and the people around you as you go out on quests. You can make up your own quests or use quests in the game to help inspire you. Who knows? Perhaps things aren't as simple as they seem, and you'll be launched forward into urgent, world-ending missions with everything in the balance. Who knows?
When you and your fellow hunters aren't busy gathering materials or slaying monsters, you'll be spending your time in the cities, mingling with the locals, getting to know the people around you. While you can hang around in any city you desire, you're more likely to run across fellow characters in the cities that have been dubbed as "Multiplayer Hubs" in the actual games.
These CitiesIf you'd like more detailed information on these places as well as those not mentioned, I would strongly recommend checking out the Monster Hunter Wiki, as it describes the monsters, gear, and locations way better than I could and in a much more organized manner.
Dundorma
Val Habar
Loc Lac
Port Tanzia
Minegarde Town
And Bherna
(since it's directly connected to the Hunter's Hub)
- Certain mechanics in the game will be tweaked slightly to make the role play more realistic, so to speak, to add better tension when you go out on a hunt. The hunts will bring about a bigger sense of danger, and you'll find you'll want to be much more careful about your actions when you're in the field. The core principles of the game will stay mostly the same, and any changes will be mentioned here in this tab.
Yeah, if it's too much, however, just lemme know and I can tone it back a little. Frenzy status is just a very unique effect and so I wanted to expand on it a little. Really, all of this here is to just give you ideas for tension, hardship, and drama while you're out in the field or at home. The main focus is to have fun and enjoy what unfolds as we go.
