Fantasy Hunter's Moon: The Sin & Sentence [IC] [CLOSED]

Senya landed a strike at the Taskmaster from the surprise attack. They had already managed to land damage in the first strike. If they just kept the pressure up right now, they may have an easier time with her. Otherwise the guards will take over quickly, leaving them to change focus. They can't allow her to breathe when the moment is highest. One wrong mistake and it's over. She attempted to shield bash her for good measure and then swing her sword sideways at her torso.

"Blame the stupid one." Henderson called out to Kassidy and he eyed up the four guards. Somebody is gonna have to take care of those. "Come on, which one wants to get broken in first?" Plan was simple, grab one of them and toss them to the others.

"...Order them to strip. I must see their full form."

"..Atleast it ain't Cassandra this time around." With that, The battle starts as the team said the keyword and had their weapons ready. Wesley took in the carnage that ensued him, as well as Inari's nearly loose sash and the fact the Loque has the face of many nightmares but don't mind that. He looked at the miniturized sword that he has on his hand pondered to that keyword.

"Gods... okay... Eggplant" with that, what seemed to be a toothpick when it was shrunked. Wesley's ninjato returned back into its normal size and ready to be used once more. "I'm not saying that ever in that context. Again."

He dashed towards the nearest guard and used his vampiric powers to run up the wall and jump off it, sending his blade towards the guard's chest.

The sound of Loque's rapidly beating heart is all she can hear right now; all the screaming and gunfire became muted and gradually replaced only with a loud ringing in her ears. A dark, blurry disarray of random colors and shapes is all she can see; everything became dimmer and dimmer as it turned into a mess of nothingness. The trembling stopped as her body became numb, unable to feel herself shaking anymore; only the cold sweat dripping down her face. Though she might've taken Thelyra's eye out, Loque herself didn't even realize what she's just done or where she even is right now. She looks down at her feet, and saw what vaguely looked like her own reflection on the ground, splintered and broken. She looks just like she did decades ago, when she was still in their hands. It spoke to her.

"...You should've been a little more careful, meat."

She screams again. With her face still exposed and her teeth still gnashing, she tackles the colorful mess that resembles Thelyra the closest and keeps tearing chunks out.

Concurrently, Somewhere else in the Abyss.

------------------------

A light sigh passed through the (relatively) young elf's lips as she sat down in her quarters. Having been taken away from the main group, and by her own refusal to join the more beastly members of the group who'd been summoned back by Xager, Gwenaelle'd been primarily relegated to adminstrative duty. Even the most rag-tag of rebellions needed some planning and oversight, she supposed. Still, it seemed so dreadfully boring compared to what she'd envisioned herself doing when she came here. A small part of Gwen thought that, perhaps she should've went on those other expeditions. The rest of her couldn't even attempt to forgive beasts for what they'd done to her. By all accounts, she was dead. A simple footnote in ancient history, of a long-dead race. Perhaps, only notable for being one of the last royals of that same race. A walking anachronism, who was snubbed out in her prime by them. Although she felt a deep, intense loathing... she couldn't bring herself to feel true anger toward them.

After all, if a true beast is so driven by pure instinct and emotion, then why not a half-beast? A quarter-beast, even? Perhaps that night was only just the result of however many years of trying to rid them from her own lands. Yet, something deeper pried at her mind, and halted her hatred.

Her own race. And, perhaps more specifically, herself. Since, as she's now... intimately aware, it wasn't beasts, war, or plague that annihilated her race, but something far more banal... and yet, she couldn't quite place how she felt. Disgusted? Disappointed? Defeated, even? Perhaps all of these at once. To think. The great, old race, annihilated by blood-mixing. The queen couldn't quite figure out who she should blame. It's not like half-elves were exactly looked upon very fondly. Much the opposite. So would it all be down to the aristocracy? Gwen does remember her hayday, the parties that she'd throw at her estate, inviting nobles from the entire continent to indulge in all of life's most carnal pleasures. All of them.

...There is someone else, now that she thinks of it, though. Ah, such ethereal beauty-- even by the standards of an elf. She always seemed so especially friendly to the then-princess, too. And the lavish festivities she orchestrated! The carousing, the feasts... the orgies. Such a thought was like a thumbtack jamming itself into Gwen's thoughts. She couldn't even remember the woman's name. Ss... s... something. It'd come back to her eventually. Perhaps they might even see each other again! Maybe agree to cool it with their... kinds of activities.

Gwen slowly came back to her senses in the gentle flicker of lantern light. The ink on her quill seemed to have started to dry, and the tea she had brought was beginning to chill. How one can pass the time with a full mind and a bit of daydreaming... The thought was interesting, though. Perhaps she might meet herself down here somewhere. Or her father.

...Furrowing her brow at the thought, Gwen quickly decided it would be best if she didn't see him.

Inari was disappointed to see the concubines run away. She wanted them to stay and witness her glory, so that they would know very well why she would be their master after this fight. Now she'd have to drag them back here to witness the carnage, and she could only carry one with each hand. Demons were so unruly.

The arrival of the guards caught her attention. She spun about and headed to engage the nearest one, slashing out with her sword. They didn't need to get overwhelmed by the little ones.

Having charged himself within, Takato sighed and used the opportunity afforded by Loque and Seriphine to deal some quick, hard blows to Thelyra, before moving back to assess the situation. Thankfully, the other demons and their concubines scattered, scared for their lives and unwilling to fight for their master's subordinate. However, as Kassidy and Vincent shifted their attention to the doors, four guards had already made their way in. He spotted Henderson, Wesley and Inari heading towards them, so whom he should concentrate on was made easy - this was the way, as he faced towards Thelyra.

Out of his right arm, manifested a talisman-like card. Seeing Loque and Senya maintain the pressure physically, he may as well help using his incantations. This time, however, it wasn't a card from the basic Talisman Set. This time, he had drawn from the ever-expanding Assassin of Assassins Set, as he dubbed it at least, the talisman-like cards he had collected over the years following the introduction of the mystic barrages from the assassins that may come and attempt to slay the siennyin. The card he had drawn was referred to by its user as "Taboo ~ Pan Gu on Earth", which applied significant gravitational pressure on the target used, forcing them down to the ground, to nearly the extent that the ground itself would thicken in response to prevent further damage.

He wasn't much of a fan of the Assassins of Assassins Set. These were cards meant to be used against the siennyin, and yet here he was, using one against a being likely more powerful than he. Hopefully this will work, and keep Thelyra down.

Seriphine quite literally hissed at Thelyra after striking her. Loque's bite made an impression on her. Demon or not there was no denying her lethality. A shame, really...

The others struck true as well and once chaos erupted it was time to strike once more. Seriphine danced around Thelyra and once the others had made their moves it was time for her to do the same. Several horizontal and diagonal strikes were delivered at Thelyra's legs in an effort to cripple her.

Traitors die on their knees.

---
The group pressed their assault, some of them continuing to attack Thelyra in an effort to slay her quickly, while others attempted to eliminate the four guards that had been in the room when the assault began. Henderson grabbed onto the closest guard, as soon as they arrived, lifting the incubus up and hurling them at the other guards. They quickly avoided the incoming incubus, whom bounced and slid across the hard floor. Wesley moved in quickly, using his vampiric power to gain a bit of aerial momentum in an effort to put down one of the guards. The guard, however, saw him coming, and narrowly avoided getting stabbed. He was, however, cut across the chest by Wesley's blade. In retaliation, he delivered his own slice across Wesley's back as he landed.

Inari moved in on one of the succubus guards, coming in low and slashing upwards and out with her blade. It connected, the blade shooting sparks into the air as it cut through their skimpy armor and hit flesh. The succubi yelled out, before delivering her own cut that shredded the fabric of Inari's clothes and drew blood from the kitsune. Inari followed up, retaliating with another slash across the demon's midsection. The succubus would not have time to attack a second time, as shots from Vincent's semi-automatic rifle would impact her chest plate and cause massive dents. Forcing the demon to stumble away from Inari.

Kassidy would take on the fourth demon, rushing them and firing her pistols as they prepared to strike the friendly blue succubus with their own weapon. Kassidy's shots would connect, peppering the demon across most of their body. She would then leap towards them, wrapping her legs around the demon's head and twirling about. It was a rather interesting acrobatic move, which resulted in the hostile succubus landing on their back nearby. As the succubus lay on the ground, Kassidy sat up and planted a pair of pistol shots in their head to finish them off.

Loque descended upon Thelyra once again, attempting to bite her over and over with her strange extending mouth, but Thelyra managed to retaliate in kind. When her mouth extended once more, Thelyra grabbed onto it with one hand, before delivering several brutal punches to Loque's head. Over and over, she punched away, determined to get the gluttony demon off of her. And soon, she did, as Loque fell off. Senya would take that valuable time to shield bash and slice at Thelyra, cutting her across her side and knocking the wind out of her as she tried to get off the floor. Then, Takato would use one of his cards to try and KEEP Thelyra on the floor. Which didn't work. Thelyra was far too powerful. She forced herself to stand, ignoring the wounds she had taken or the card. Even Seriphine's slash at her knees wouldn't put her down. But it did stagger her for a moment and forced her to cry out in pain.

"YOU ABSOLUTE WRETCHES! ONCE I'M DONE WITH YOU, YOU'LL WISH YOU HAD NEVER BEEN CONCEIVED." she spat.

The series of punches right to Loque’s head didn’t do her rapidly deteriorating mental state any favors. Every strike that landed caused flashes of uncomfortable memories to manifest, serving only to terrorize her further into an animalistic mindset.

That all too familiar voice speaks again. “...Do you know why we do to you what we do, meat?” Before it could go any further, she heard something else.

"YOU ABSOLUTE WRETCHES! ONCE I'M DONE WITH YOU, YOU'LL WISH YOU HAD NEVER BEEN CONCEIVED."

The raving beast replacing Loque could only reply to this threat by frothing at the mouth and snarling. She charged at Thelyra again, still determined to rip her to pieces with her teeth.

"Where do you think you're going?" Henderson said as the other guards scattered, now each busy with their own problems. He wasn't done tossing them around. Next one he would get his hands on would be used to beat the unconscious incubus further.

Inari continued to press the attack against the guard who she had attacked, and had attacked her, intending to finish them as soon as she could. She could barely feel her own wound. Only a scratch, hah!

Thelyra is standing up and was just begging for more. Loque herself sprinted towards her, there's nothing Senya could do but keep attacking until the guards were dead. She attempted to circle around the Taskmaster, making multiple swipe attacks so she can keep moving.

Takato thought quickly as he considered what to do next. Using a talisman that he was ultimately inexperienced with didn't work out, as despite the card working, Thelyra's overwhelming might, physical or not, managed to overpower it, even with her physical injuries. She was a force to be reckoned with, surely.

He could step in to aid physically, but the motions of Loque and Senya surrounding Thelyra, along with Seriphine, made the prospect a tad questionable. And considering her might, if Kassidy was able to charm them, then Thelyra should be able to do that with far more ease and swiftness. He'll have to try another talisman-like card, though this time one that will actually hurt her, hopefully.

Out of his right arm manifested yet another entry in the Assassin of Assassins Set, one referred to as "Taboo ~ Axe of Chen Xiang", which creates a sharp disc of qi that cuts through beings only. He had not the misfortune to meet the assassin that held this card, having been passed onto him by his master. Creating the disc, he raised it high, and waited for the right time to send it down, as to avoid hitting his compatriots.

Wesley groans as the blade swipes his back. leaving a cut both on his clothes and body as blood seeps into the surrounding fabric.

Thankfully. His wound closes up due to his vampirism. He creates some distance from himself and puts his Ninjato back to its sheath. and opened the two pouches on his belt and pulled out two Kunais. He then charged at the guard. who looked ready to take the hit, but not knowing that he was engaging a magic reflection that was running ahead of him. once Wesley gets close. he would dematetialize and reappear behind the guard to throw his kunais at his vulnerable backside.

The assault recommenced, as Thelyra got to her feet and spat her threat at the members of Vincent's group. Meanwhile, the guards attempted to stop the attack on their leader, continuing to try and eliminate some of the group. Henderson once again tried to grab a guard, but this time the guard managed to slip out of his grip. The one he had thrown had sprang back to his feet, and moved in quickly to deliver a painful strike across Henderson's back. Inari, meanwhile, continued to duel with her chosen guard. She struck the guard again with her blade, carving another gash in their torso with a horizontal cut. Kassidy would also get involved, firing a pair of pistol shots at the guard and striking them in the back. The guard would shrug off the shots, however, and deliver a sharp stab through Inari's left shoulder. Inari would counter attack rather swiftly, however. She knocked the guard's legs out from under them, forcing them down onto their back. With a twist and a well planted kick, she shattered their sword wielding arm. Then, delivered a number of curb stomps to the demon's head. They would prove fatal, the third or so stomp smashing the demon's skull and sending blood spurting out of orifices.

Wesley would use his supernatural speed to attack the incubus he was fighting, nearly teleporting behind the guard and throwing kunai into the guard's back. The guard yelped in pain, before twirling about and delivering a nasty arcing slash across Wesley's torso. Afterwards, Vincent's rifle shots would rip into the guard, peppering him across his own body.

Loque attempted to bite Thelyra again, managing to rip the flesh out of Thelyra's arm as she tried to shove her backwards. Seriphine would move in quickly as she managed to shove Loque off, slashing the taskmaster across the chest. As Senya moved in, however, Thelyra took notice and managed to avoid her swings. As she bent over to avoid a horizontal swing aimed at her neck, something dropped from above. And she saw her horns fall to the floor with pair of loud clacks. Takato's blade had sliced her horns off halfway down their length. Thelyra screamed out in anger. "YOU BASTARD!!" she shouted, leveling her finger at Takato. "MY LADY WON'T GET TO KILL YOU, BECAUSE I'LL MAKE SURE YOU DIE SCREAMING HERE AND NOW!"

Thelyra then spun about to face Senya. Then all of a sudden, she blew her a kiss. A huge mass of purplish pink mist flew forth from her mouth, hitting Senya square in the face. Senya swatted the mist away from her face, but it was no use. She had been charmed, feeling the sensation settling in. Thelyra then pointed at Takato. "Put him down!"

As Gwen sat alone, her mind wandering off, she soon heard a voice from behind her. "Gwen...I need a word with you." they said. She knew who it was. Xager. As Gwen glanced back, she could see that Xager wasn't in her usual armored attire that the group had seen her often in. This time, she was in more relaxed clothing. It reminded her of what some of the humans back in the mortal realm wore in cold weather. Loose wool shirts, dark colored trousers, warm gloves. It was usually cold here in the Abyss, but here in particular it had grown rather chilly.

Xager approached, shutting the door to her quarters behind her before moving over next to Gwen. As she sat down, Gwen could tell something was up. As stonefaced as Xager tended to be, with her creepy piercing gaze, she bore a frustrated expression this time. "...Tariun has decided to no longer provide aid to your comrades here in the Abyss, due to the statements a few of your group's members. Particularly Hudson." she said, her black and gold eyes staring at the paper that Gwen had been writing on. They soon moved, looking to Gwen. "Your allies will not survive down here without aid...so now I have to figure out a way to convince Tariun to continue supporting them."

"Maybe wear helmet! Baka! Manuke!" Inari laughed as she continued stomping on the demon's head, finally killing them with a few more giggles and a wide smirk. These Atracan boots she had taken before the journey were really quite nice - far better than geta, tabi, or other sandals. Good support. Good maneuvering. Comfortable. And great for kicking and stomping. The leather was also easy to clean. A little bit of water, a rub down, and no more blood!

She spotted Henderson having a little trouble with the soldier he was fighting, and she hurried over with another jubilant warcry. "Kutabare yowamushi!" Inari angled her sword to get a good stab in on their side.

Considering that her door had opened behind her without her knowing, Gwen stiffened in surprise. She hated it when people came in without knocking. It was a problem that the court sorceress never seemed to understa--

Ahem. Gwenaelle seemed somewhat unphased on her initial reaction. "Ah-- pff. I'm sure th... they..." Thinking about it harder, however, her body language changed. Thought, then worry. It wasn't for the good of the others who'd die without that support, but much more for her own sake. If they don't complete their mission, then the chances of a demonic invasion become much, much higher. And, in turn, that would mean any chance, any hope of rebuilding her rightful kingdom would die in its infancy. ...Just what in the hell did he say which prompted this kind of reaction?

It didn't take long for that same look of dour frustration to take hold of Gwen's features, the elf's brow furrowing, and ears lowering beneath her hood. She's still wearing it-- they get cold easy, after all. Wiping at her face, the queen sighed. "...I might need a bit more info than they just said something, no? What did they say? Or-- perhaps, what did they do. I have the feeling that man has more balls than brains, and he'd do something, as opposed to simply say, yes?"

"...I might need a bit more info than they just said something, no? What did they say? Or-- perhaps, what did they do. I have the feeling that man has more balls than brains, and he'd do something, as opposed to simply say, yes?"

Xager's eyes drifted back to Gwen. "Hudson was paranoid as always. Decided to break away from the group before they ventured into Sekath's territory. He stated that he'd rather take his chances alone than 'blindly accept whatever dodgy help we provided.'...He firmly believes we're going to turn around and screw you."

She then looked back to the paper. "After Hudson's statements, Vincent told him to leave. So now, Hudson is heading straight towards Sazak's territory. Jakob, Riberta, and Venextos decided to accompany him. I've been told that they met with Azathor, an ally, whom gave them a vehicle and a small task to deal with during their journey in that direction. Azathor is one of Sazak's sons, whom wishes to have Sazak's head on a spike. He has proven trustworthy time and time again."

"Vincent and the rest of your group have ventured into Sekath's territory to accomplish the last task Tariun gave them. With the aid of a succubus named Kassidy, whom is an ally to our cause, they are to kill Sekath's second in command, the grand succubus and taskmaster Thelyra...I'm sure you know of Thelyra, as she was alive during your lifetime in the mortal realm. She played a major part in your downfall, and was rewarded by being turned into a demon. They should be engaging Thelyra by now."

Xager's eyes moved back to Gwen. "...They will need help in escaping from Sekath's territory. That's a given. I need to speak with my lady, and convince her to aid them. Otherwise it is very likely they will be captured and killed...or far worse."

Takato groaned slightly, as his destructive disc only cut off Thelyra's horns halfway, and hadn't gone any lower. The disc flew into the distance, through the wall, out of the battle and likely out of his control. He had hoped it would go lower, but his thoughts were interrupted by the taskmaster's rageful scream.

He hadn't realized horns were that important. Now her fury for him likely would match that of Sekath's... probably. Takato shuttered as Thelyra went ahead and charmed Senya, who turned to put him down.

As he tried to think of what to do, Takato's thoughts turned to Kassidy. Could she somehow be of help? He tried to think quickly, recalling all he had learned so far about these lustful beings, before remembering when they were passing through her friends. Could it be that she, and in turn, all succubi and incubi, can just charm another's charmed to their side, or at least nullify it? It was worth a shot.

Checking to see where Kassidy is, he lightly fired one of his tiny, horn-derived projectiles at her to draw her attention, and as she turned her head, he pointed at Senya in a polite fashion. And so, he strafed towards Kassidy to bring Senya closer to her, and to reposition himself for a more basic attack to Thelyra, a charged orb of qi aimed straight at her.

Henderson turned around to the guard that took a stab at him and reached to grab him by the neck. He was going to slam and stomp this whelp until he was nothing but a stain.

To be quite frank, Gwen couldn't say that she was surprised that Hudson had struck it out on his own. Brash, brave, and monumentally fucking stupid, yes, but surprised? No. The rest she wouldn't have realized to have gone along with him, but didn't really know them enough to care all that much. Like the blasé annoyance at losing one's tools, as opposed to the fear of a friend group tearing itself apart. She found her hands at her temples, rubbing small circles into them.

"I'm sure you know of Thelyra, as she was alive during your lifetime in the mortal realm." "Thelyra?" The all-too-familiar name made the she-elf let out a throaty growl. "Boudin. Honestly, I'm not surprised that she of all people is a succubus. She couldn't keep her hands off of anyone, and I swear whenever I was around her, I always thought I smelled piss--" Gwen cleared her throat quickly. It's not quite the right time for centuries-old gossip, she figured. "...But, I'm sure that even she of all people has some choice power as this, ah, what did you say. Grand succubus?" ...Catchy name...

Gwen looked over to her rifle, leaned tidily against the foot of her bed, pouting in thought. "Even if demons here aren't like, ah, unicorns or something, having to use silver against them... yeah. They might need help." She lifted herself onto her feet, hefting the same rifle up into her hands. "To be quite frank, I'd be more bothered with helping them right now, and worrying about that holy-infused big-hat tart says about it later. Gather someone up, say... I dunno. A certain huntress." She clears her throat for effect. "And go out to help them before that other tart does, ah. Things, to them. And, trust me, I thought that Thelyra was bad when I was... alive. Feels weird saying that."

"But, honestly. It seems like you came to tell me that the rest of them are stupid, and that I'm not good enough to be a-- a grand succubus. And I already knew one of those." ...Yes, she is jealous about it.

Seriphine gritted her teeth as the assault continued. With the others striking back and forth at either Thelyra or her guards the Elf saw no point in holding back until the deed was done. Then, in the midst of the battle, Senya was charmed. Seriphine cursed and dashed in for another strike, this time in the hope of disabling one of Thelyra's knees or legs altogether.

The painful ringing comes back in Loque’s ears as she rips into Thelyra once more. Though it fades away to the cacophonous noise of chains rattling and a fire being lit.

The voice speaks in her mind again. “...Your kind do nothing but inflict pain onto others, and you deserve every. single. bit. of pain we inflict onto you, you disgusting creature. For as long as we keep you alive, you’ll do best to remember this...

Frantically, her eyes dart around the room in an insane furor trying to find whoever’s taunting her somewhere inside with her among the mess of twitching silhouettes and blinding colors, only to stop and stare at the burned and rotten thing now replacing Thelyra. It has eyes like hers. It has a face like hers. It has a body like hers. It’s just as repulsive and disgusting as her, and it needed to die as she cannot stand looking at it any longer. So again she charges at it in a craze, attempting to tear it to ribbons.

Wesley dashed away from the guard and gripped the area where he was cut from the guard's weapon. it was deep, But was regenerating. albeit, rather slow. he decided to just pick him off from affar and to punish him for being quite the prick in this battle.

He dug into the back pouches of his beit and pulled out what seemed to be like 2 Shurikens, The guard looks at him smugly but was completely dumb founded when Wesley fanned out the shurikens to reveal two more in each hand, thus he had 6 in total, He starts running up the walls and throwing them with clear cut percision, aiming for the inccubi's vulnerable spots.
