perhaps it sounds a bit silly, but I've been stumped on this for a few days... What is the PROPER way to bump a post?

do you comment under it? do you reply to it? edit it?

i understand the bumping etiquette! don't bump a post unless it's been up for at least twenty four hours (or, alternatively (i believe), wait until it's left the front page), but I don't know how to actually bump it!

apologies, I'm incredibly new, but i can't seem to find a solid answer on this! (⁠●⁠´⁠⌓⁠`⁠●⁠)

A thread will only be bumped up to the top of the forum when a new reply is made on it, so yes, in order to bump a thread you have to post a reply to it.
