Personality:

Charlotte seems to have this natural aura about her that just... Entices people, gives them this rush of nervous energy, and that feeling in their chests as if they knew something was going to pop out of the shadows and scare them. This energy of hers draws people in, in hopes of discovering the inner depths of this somewhat mysterious girl. But for most, she's simply too much. Charlotte may seem like your typical and average stranger, anyone you'd meet on the street really. Nice, possibly witty girl with the charming smile, a clean slate and a polite yet distant tone. Oh, but the Charlotte lying underneath, which honestly isn't that hard to uncover, is quite the catastrophe.

She seems to have a very disturbed sense of fun, as she tends to do things she probably knows will land herself, and even others, in hot soup for the thrill of it. Charlotte's been berated many times for her behaviour, but never seems to care, always blaming it on the fact that she's "dumb" or that she's just "useless", which she tends to say a lot, her actual belief in those statements being a total mystery to everyone she's met, even her close friends.

Charlotte has quite the self-loathing streak honestly, and while some people aren't buying it, thinking she's just making up excuses for bad behaviour, others sympathise with her and bask her in compliments, just like you would do with any other person that thought of themselves as "ugly" or "stupid".

Despite her comments though, Charlotte has proven that she's actually quite intelligent when it boils down to the serious stuff. She can think for herself and others and has absolutely no problem coming up with rather workable and rational solutions to issues that would require a decent amount of brain power to solve. Which is quite impressive, as much as she likes to brush it off and saying it's simply "luck".

Another thing that's hard to ignore is that if someone is in danger or in a dire situation, Charlotte will not hesitate to lend a helping hand, no matter how badly it may affect herself. Though her self-sacrificing nature may lead to negative repercussions, helping others while harming herself. Some see it as stupid, while others see it as commendable, either way, neither can admit that she's quite a kind person, another good quality of her's that she's willing to simply sweep under the rug.

Being the daughter of Até though, Charlotte is known to cause some mischief around the camp. Not too often, though often enough to warrant her quite a number of warnings. Just some minor stuff though, maybe she got her hands on some spray paint and started going all Van Gogh on a patch of grass somewhere, or she decided to give into her Kleptomaniac urges and steal something, only for that person to find out a few days later. Whatever it is, I suppose it's still mischief. As much mischief as you can get to for a camp that she's been in for god knows how long.

Biography:

Charlotte's life has always been relatively comfortable honestly. Though she was raised by a single father, a wonderful man named Brian Zhang, she was never truly displeased with her state of life. Brian's family had quite hefty sums of money in their bank accounts, all from their years of being doctors, lawyers, the typical jobs that would bring in the big bucks. Even Brian himself was pretty well-off, always looking presentable and tidy. So it was no surprise that he raised his daughter to be the same. She was such a princess growing up, a little spoiled in everyone's eyes. Everything she desired was at her fingertips. But unlike most others, Charlotte would never be satisfied with such a boring and luxurious life style.

You see, ever since she was a young girl, Charlotte's always been a bit more adventurous than others, craving that feeling of heart-pounding excitement, wanting to be on a roller coaster 24/7. She was fascinated by unconventional, and sometimes even stupid ideas, breaking rules and regulations just to find out what the outcome would be. Her family always did think she was weird, but of course, her father knew better than to question her daughter's peculiar behaviour. After all, Charlotte's mother was the goddess of mischief, Até herself.

As Charlotte matured, she grew smarter, and displayed traits that wouldn't be out of character for the daughter of the goddess of mischief. She was a rebel of course, breaking rules and all that, though her grades never did slip, what with all her intelligence and such. But there was still that empty hole in her heart, that longed to be filled with excitement and thrill. She wanted something special. And there came a point when she asked the question that would lead to one of the biggest decisions in her life.

"Dad, where did mom really go?"

It was surprising that she'd never properly asked her father before really. Her mother was always a topic she thought was too sensitive to touch on, thus never fully addressing the absence of a proper mother figure. Charlotte's father was stunned at first, before his face softened and he sat her down, not long before he told her the truth.

It certainly didn't upset Charlotte that he'd kept such a big secret from her, though her father initially thought it would. In fact, she was ecstatic. This meant more excitement. The knowledge that her mother was a goddess was baffling yet invigorating. As Charlie told Charlotte about Camp Daybreak though, her mind started to wander, until she finally got a hold of what the situation boiled down to.

It took Charlotte awhile to fully process that going to the camp meant leaving the place she called home for god knows how long. But the more she thought about it, the more clear her mind seemed to be, before she finally made the decision with two simple words:

"I'll go."

Themesong:

The Smiths - How Soon Is Now? (Yes, it's old. I know.)

Melanie Martinez - Dollhouse

4 years
