» Answer Time!

Asa was busy enjoying the food that was provided to him when the television whirred to the response screen. Normally an interruption during a meal, other than checking in, was taboo to him so it felt like he was rudely interrupted. That is, until he realized he could see the responses everyone had. Admittedly he was curious to see some of the responses to the general question.

From the initial look over it seemed that not only was he picked once, by Ryou, but also by Nobu, the shy looking male who sat next to Ryou. Asa felt an immense sense of joy and pride to be picked by the person he had chosen and enjoyed spending time with but also someone he had yet to formally meet. Finally looking past the names in the answers, Asa couldn't help but chuckle lightly and shooting Ryou a small smile and playful head shake after reading Ryou's reason for picking him. “With our luck so far it would still be at least heavily delayed.” It was nice to know that Ryou wasn't just being nice and genuinely wanted to talk about food. Nobu's reason was also warming to read and Asa looked to the male with a gentle smile and slight nod. “You are correct, I would not mind. And I would indeed do my best to let you rest but be fairly warned that I will get you your meal.” After seeing who had chosen him, Asa realized that Ryou was chosen two more times in addition to his own choice. Once by Vivian, which was hilarious to read having seen their previous encounter, and the other by Eiji who... apparently took the opportunity to hit on Ryou via... This was completely cringe and Asa did not know how to react. Was it discomforting? Yes. Was it his business to know? No. The best thing to do was- Moving on! Get to the next questions and miss the pleasant surprise Ryou displayed. It was probably for the best.

For the second set of question and answers, Asa made sure to read the entire set before making conclusions. This was fairly simple as the television scrolled down to reveal one set at a time. First was Ryou and Asa was completely confused. From the question it sounded like Ryou had done something drastic that cost him greatly. That was concerning because the male didn't seem to deserve such an event from what Asa has seen. For whatever reason, most likely his innocent outlook, he couldn't fathom a reason on his own. Though Ryou didn't seam to be phased by the question as he was reading much faster than Asa, having already made a comment to him. Ryou's voice was softer than earlier but still grabbed Asa's attention instantly. He grinned and casually responded, “I would be honored to do so.” Not thinking about how he sounded. Asa intended to sound inviting and excited before turning back to check the answers again. Eiji's answer was a good one since the fat in the meat complemented the fat in the cheese. Asa turned and flashed the male a thumbs up. Macallan's set was heart wrenching and made Asa feel remorse for the woman. He looked over at her and she was sitting angrily in her seat. With an attempt to try to get her attention he waved his hand in front of her since he was sitting directly across from her. He had no words in mind that would help convey his sorrow but held a hang against his heart and opened it toward her, hoping she understood the intention. Taking a moment to himself, he looked back at the screen. Tina's set was funny and she seemed to have given it real thought. He turned to her to thank her for her consideration and seriousness. “No need to worry, I'm sure you and your group would find a way to survive together. I know I would try my best if I was I stuck in that situation.” Nobu's set was entertaining and relatable. Asa would have answered similarly because he enjoys sweets. Asa gave Nobu the same thumbs up he had given Eiji earlier. Yuuki's set was sad to read. To have to worry about people invading your personal space was not something Asa envied. He had heard about idols having crazy fans but to see that there was truth to it was upsetting. He looked at the girl with sad eyes, feeling bad that she had to go through the experience. But that did not prepare him for the last set, Vivian's. Asa could feel his heart drop in his chest as he looked at the woman beside him. She was clearly upset and Ryou had offered her his words of comfort. Asa hesitated but decided to simply lay his hand on hers and give it a squeeze. Words were not going to help and he knew it.

While trying to comfort Vivian, Ryou grabbed Asa's attention again as he stood from the table and spoke. Asa was frozen as he watched Ryou with wide eyed panic as he left the room. Something was certainly wrong and with the already worrisome responses Asa had read, he only hoped it didn't upset Ryou greatly. He hesitated, not knowing if it was appropriate for him to follow the man or if he should give him space. After giving Ryou a few minutes alone, Asa gave Vivian a reassuring look before standing and bowing to the table. “I will check on him and bring him back. Enjoy your meals and please excuse me.”

With a swift movement Asa pushed his chair inside and followed Ryou's footsteps to the outdoors where he found the man smoking. He stepped through the door, closing it behind him as he carefully approached the other. He had gotten this far without really thinking about what to say. “Uh...” He cleared his throat from the nerves as he looked out at the backyard. Asking if the man was okay was a silly question, he clearly was not. Asa went with the next best thing. “Can I help at all?” Normally when Asa feels down he would vent to his fish. They were not here and Ryou probably wouldn't want to talk to them. So he thought he would be the next best thing since they had picked each other to be flying buddies after all.

[div class=container][div class=image][/div] [div class=blk][div class=title]Tina Tillit [div class=line][/div] [div class=lil]The Cosplayer[/div][/div] [div class=b][div class=lilimage][/div][/div] [div class=info] [div class=post][div class=scroll] No one replied to her comment after she answered her questions. A quick survey of the table left her with an idea of why. Some people seemed to be upset at their question while others seemed to be fine and were eating happily. She was too busy trying to get a reaction out of someone to take a real taste of her food, which she instantly felt guilty for since she bothered the chef next to her and he had given her his first plate. A small sigh of defeat escaped her lips as she moved to take a taste of the delicious looking food. Looks were not deceiving in this case, it really was delicious!

It seemed like the last person gave in their answer as the television had come back to life and displayed everyone's questions and answers. The screen slowly scrolled so everything could be read as it moved. That proved to be annoying to Tina, because she didn't want to have to chase the words she was reading so thankfully the same display was on her tablet and could be controlled. She held the tablet in front of her and took a look at the answers to the general question.

The first thing she noticed was the absence of her name. It really wasn't a surprise since she was not acquainted with everyone and arrived later than most. She also wasn't the only one who was not chosen to be anyone's flight buddy. Apparently Yuuki and Macallan were in the same boat. It was surprising that no one decided to sit with the pop star but maybe others felt the same way Tina did about that situation. The other answers seemed to be filled with surface level familiarity and it was kind of cute. Ryouichi seemed to be the popular man at the table even though his appearance was the most intimidating. Was he a softie under that abrasive exterior? She found it hard to believe but anything could be possible. The second most popular was Asa, the chef to her left. Both answers seemed to be because he has a kind disposition and would have a good conversation or respect the lack of one. The other three answers were nice guesses based off of appearance. The only one answer that was a real surprise to read was Eiji's since... well it seems like someone has a crush right off the bat. That'll be interesting to live with. Especially since, judging by Yuuki's answer, Eiji is also someone with some fame. Tina couldn't help but feel like some commoner among these people now but she did have her own niche following.

The individual questions were also quite different. Some of them seemed casual and others were heavier. Tina thought hers was fun but seeing the others on the board made her nervous of what question she would be faced with next. She hoped she would be able to get something like favorite pizza topping or ice cream flavor. Those were easy to answer and non-invasive. Even though the questions were inherently heavy, the answers were worse. Vivian's especially. After reading that last Tina couldn't help but let out a pained “Shit...” Tina had to go back to re-read the second set again since the last one threw her for such a loop and Asa had commented on her question and answer. She only mustered up “Thanks. Hopefully friendship actually beats evil in that situation.” Before going back to her tablet. What was Ryouichi's question referring to? That's unfairly vague and Tina was burning to ask him to explain. Macallan was sitting in clear anger and judging by her answer it seemed like a bad memory was brought up. Poor girl. That must have been a huge loss for her that she still has to recover from. Asa apparently did other things than just cooking but Tina would not have answered his question the same way. He's way too innocent of a boy evidently. Then Yuuki having a crazy fan experience was shocking. People actually did insane stuff like stealing hair?! Disgusting and disrespectful. Tina was not sure of what to say to everyone but felt she had to say something. But Ryou beat her to the punch.

She looked at the table, this time speaking with a serious tone as opposed to a playful energetic one. “I apologize for everyone's bad experiences. It's bad enough to have to go through them but even worse to relive them again.” She paused as it seemed like there were a few comments being thrown back and forth. The man was right, this was a good way to break the ice. After seeing the kind interactions taking place, Ryou suddenly excused himself from the table and headed outside. Tina was at a loss. She had tried to make fun comments and failed too many times already. It was someone else's turn to succeed where she failed.

Nobu had just been quietly enjoying his meal when the tv had revealed the answers to everyone's questions and answers. His gaze flicked towards it pretty quickly as he caught the screen change colour in the corner of his eye. The answers were all there to see and of course his curiosity was biting at him to read. He left his eating utensils to one side to read through them. He was curious what kind of answers everyone put for the general. After all. They were all strangers to eachother so it would be off first impression alone these things would be based on right?

Ryou had answered with Asa as well. That wasn't all that surprising, hearing them pass comments in a friendly manner across the table to eachother they seemed to get along well already, though Asa seemed like the type of person anyone could approach. That was his own reason for choosing the same after all. What was a surprise to him though was that the man next to him was actually friendly and it was pleasant surprise at that. Nobu had glanced towards him as he spoke with the others at the table. His face was a stern one and to Nobu his personality until this point seemed disinterested. Maybe gruff? He couldn't find the exact word for it. But, right now his demeanor seemed a bit softer than that. Perhaps Nobu had pinned him wrong in his mind...

He read over Eiji's next. Blinking a few times. Oh. He really went for it didn't he. Throwing in a flirty comment into the first question of a group questionnaire full of strangers was a bold move. Ryou seemed to take have a positive reaction albeit surprised. He couldn't imagine being called out just because of his looks.

Next was Mac's. The lady next to him. And her answer was...him? Okay. He wasn't expecting his name to be picked, he hadn't made much of an impression so far, though to be fair he wasn't trying to, maybe she just went the easy route and picked who was next to her? As he continued to read his eyebrows raised as he felt his cheeks heat up and turn a shade. Too cute? He almost did a double take looking towards the woman beside him. He thought she seemed like one of the last at the table to say something like that. Looks surely were deceiving this evening... "You seem like a non-annoying flight buddy too. Thank you" he commented realising he had just stared at the answer, quickly turning his eyes away after. He tugged the long sleeves of his sweatshirt over his hands first and then rested his cheeks into his hands as he opted to read the answers from his tablet after this point. At least he could read them at his own pace and not feel his reactions were being watched.

Asa's answer again, was no surprise. He and Ryou had chosen eachother for good reason. Tina's answer made sense. Vivian did have that kind of atmosphere around her. Very poised. Yuuki's answer mentioned watching Eiji. Was he famous too? He must have been for a popular Idol to recognise him and be excited to meet him. Vivian had chosen Ryou also. He seemed to be the popular housemate for the evening it seemed.

Next was the individual questions. These were supposed to be the more interesting ones. He lowered one hand from his cheek to click through the questions. The mix was very diverse with his being probably one of tamest questions on there...it made him a little anxious as to what other questions they had lined up for him...

Ryou's was...vague. He had no idea what it meant. Do what again? Whatever it was he wasnt pushed on redoing it... Eiji's was just as benign as his and he agreed with it. He had to have at least one meat topping in his pizza choice when he would eat one.

Mac's answer pulled at his heart a little. She could have went with something embarrassing or light hearted but didn't so it definitely something that affected her a lot. He was sitting between two very interesting individuals it seemed. With a slight furrow in his brow he looked towards Mac and frowned, his look somewhat apologetic.

Asa's answer made him smile and tilt his head a little. He guessed they had something in common then. Not the martial arts of course. Nobu looked like he couldn't even punch through a paper bag and if he didn't love sweets so much he probably would be complete skin and bones already. He did know his fair share about ikebana though, having a crutch topic to talk about always made things that little bit easier. He had gave a polite smile towards the man when he commented on the last question Nobu answered about the plane seats. He did seem as kind as he looked then.

Tina's answer was amusing. She definetly gave it some thought for sure though. Yuuki's was...weird. Her answer itself wasn't weird but the fact someone would do that to someone was. Personal space invasion was something that always sat in a bad place with him, so even if he couldn't relate to the girl on any level what so ever he did feel for her in such a situation.

Vivian's answer had caught him off guard the most though. It was the shortest but held the most punch for sure and he wasnt the only one at the table slapped across the jaw by it either with everyone including himself giving her an apologetic look and a handful offering condolences too. While he felt the same sentiment and his mouth had made a motion to speak he stopped. Talking over a group was difficult. He also didn't want to overwhelm with so many people offering their apologetic words all at once. He watched as Ryou had stood up and excused himself followed by Asa, uttering a quiet okay when Ryou had asked for someone to come get hom for the next round. Asa had followed him out though so that probably wasnt necessary now. Ryou had seemed a little unsettled, the atmosphere had gotten a little heavy. Maybe it was too much...

He almost felt guilty that his question was as simple as an ice cream flavour. He hoped the next round of questions were as kind to everyone else as the first were to him.

After answering her questions she had just continued to pay attention to her food, that seemed to be what most of the others were doing for now so sue didnt think it would be deemed rude. Though her eyes did continuously flicker towards the screen as if her curiosity was wanting to fund out the answers right away. After all she wanted to know her roommates. Once the tv and her tablet had displayed the answers she wasted no time reading them.

No one picked her for the first question. Though that was no surprise to her. She had literally just walked through the door and just about got to introduce herself and nothing more so it wasnt like anyone could actually think on that question. She moved her attention to the individual questions...

She didn't understand Ryou's question or its answer to that matter...did he do something bad? She guessed they'd all find out eventually. Something told her this wouldn't be the only bonding exercise that the organisers had up their sleeves, she didnt mind though. She still had high hope that this would be a fun experience, after all, meeting people not her line of work or close to it for a change was something she could look forward to.

Eiji and Nobu's questions were pretty tame. Just food preferences that she guessed she could agree with. Mac's answer had pulled a visible frown from the girl as she looked to the woman next to her. She could relate to a statement like that in her line of work. Dating another Jpop star would always crash and burn because of the constant eyes and judgement from fans though when in PomPom she wasn't allowed to date anyway so she had never actually ran into such a situation. Even if she had though she was 110% sure Macs reason was nothing like that and while the statement made sense in both situations, she doubted they'd be near the same. Whatever happened must have hurt a lot...

She blinked as she read Asa's answer before stealing a glance at the chef in question. Martial arts. She didn't expect that answer from him for some reason. Perhaps because he seemed so gentle and well mannered? ...Though she supposed that actually did make a little sense when she thought about it a little harder.

Tina's answer had pulled a giggle out of the popstar while reading it. She was going to like Tina, she could tell. Vivian's answer cause her heart to drop though. Loss was a tough thing. Yuuki was a complete stranger to this woman but she wanted to stand up out of her seat and give her a huge hug if she could. She was sure the others felt the same, even with Ryou offering some words before leaving. He didn't seem like the kind that would at first glance. When Tina had apologised to the group Yuuki had nodded "I apologise too" she spoke softly, her question was a weird one, one that made her uncomfortable thinking on but she felt it was nothing compared to what the other two women had to answer, so it was only right to apologise in her opinion. A weird silence fell across the dining table after that because of the odd atmosphere. One not even Yuuki could save.

The Roommate House | Tokyo, Japan | First Night
The answers that made their appearance on the large screen were fairly diverse. Though, it seemed like Ryouichi was quite the popular character, with two others part from him having chosen the man as a flight seat partner. Feeling a few gazes linger on him, Eiji shifted in his seat, a little embarrassed at how much his answer seemed to stand out. They wouldn’t take his answer too seriously, would they?

You like my face? He heard the man in question ask, sounding slightly bewildered. Eiji met his eyes, giving a good-natured laugh accompanied by a light shrug. He did like his face. But, well, saying it once was just enough to be a funny moment for the show. More than that and, most likely, ‘Athlete E: Is He Gay???’ might just be a glaring headline in some cheap magazines in a couple days.

To his surprise, he was also chosen once, despite not having talked much to anyone. Yuuki, the idol, had been the one to pick him. He sent her a small smile in thanks, feeling bad that he couldn’t exactly talk to her now with their seats being so far apart. Her answers were as loveable as her demeanor, which was quite expected; considering how much his junior went on about her, Eiji probably knew enough to pass for a fan as well.

He continued to scan through the answers as he sipped on a drink. It felt like the lower he got on the list, the sadder the mood became. A tinge of relief grasped at his heart that he had passed by with a simple and easy question among the person ones… but he felt almost guilty that he did, considering the darkness that some of the others had revealed.

Ryouichi’s question, especially, made him wonder. Do what again? As he thought that, he heard a chair drag on the floor and saw the tall man leave. The air in the room felt much stiller than before and Eiji felt his heart clench. He watched as the man called Asa followed after Ryouichi and wondered if there was anything he could do to help ease the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the answer seemed to be quite an obvious “No”. His lips pulled themselves into a grimace that he quickly smoothed over.

He prayed for and dreaded the next round of questions. He could think of quite a few things they could ask that he really would not like to answer, after all. Hopefully, the next round would come with lighter questions, ones that they could laugh to, rather than fall into this awkward silence.

[/div] [/div] [/div] [div class=right] [div class=scroll] Despite her grave answer, a gentle smile graced Vivian's delicate features, a few wisps of her dark hair curling and neatly framing her face. "No worries, everyone." She said easily, dipping her head in a gracious acknowledgement and in gratitude of everyone's condolences. "We must be honest, no? Might as well get directly to the point." She lifted her shoulder in a shrug, hoping that her easy demeanor would get the attention off of her and relax everyone. Well, if she had known that her honesty would have caused such an outrage, she would have been better off lying.

A part of her was concerned for Ryou--her newfound friend seemed to have resonated with her answer. One of the other occupants had already left to go check on him, and if she joined, then there would simply be too many people, adding to an over-crowded effect. She'd have to make sure he was alright a bit later, when things weren't so tense. Vivian leaned forward, neatly coaxing a wine bottle out of the chilled plate it resided in. Her movements were quick and precise, methodical even as she poured herself a glass of wine.

It wasn't until her glass was emptied and refilled that she broached the subject of the game once more. "Well, that was certainly quite a way to start our first round, huh?" Vivian joked, hoping her carefree mask was in place and wasn't about to be questioned. "Next time, they should open with an embarrassing story. That way I can talk about the time I broke my arm to get a box of cereal at 2:00 in the morning, just because I was too lazy to turn on a light." She grinned, using herself in a lighthearted attempt to get things moving again.

Her hand quickly refilled her glass for the fourth time, needing the acrid tang of wine to accompany the memories she had unwillingly dredged up. [/div] [/div] [/div] [/div]

Mac remained stationary in her chair as the people sitting at the table around her continued to eat and answer their own questions. She glanced repeatedly at the answer she’d given for her personal question. Part of her regretted being honest in her answer. The question had asked her for her stupidest moment, and that was it, but it exposed a very personal, very dark part of her life. She almost wished she’d gone for a regular embarrassing story, like running full speed into a closed sliding glass door when she was ten and playing tag with her older brothers. However, another part of her—the her that the story behind those words had made her, the her that believed in honesty and trust—believed she’d made the right decision here. In any case, it was too late to change her mind now.

A moment later, the time ran out, and all the answers appeared on her tablet. Picking it up, Mac read through the answers. She read through the flight answers fairly quickly, not particularly interested in reading who any of them would sit with or why. She was not surprised when her name failed to show up as one of the answers—she didn’t exactly come off as the fluffiest bunny in the bunch. Skimming through the rest of the general answers, Macallan moved on to the individual Ryouichi’s interested her. She had already guessed by his demeanor and the way he held himself that he had a rough past, some experience with the world’s darker side. His answer to his question connotated that said dark past may have been a criminal one. She wasn’t one to judge. Whatever he’d done was done now, and if he was sitting here in front of them now, he’d obviously served his time for it. He’d paid his price; that was more than enough for her. If that was even truly who he was—she couldn’t be certain, after all. She’d had experiences with the dark side all her own; she’d been neck deep in it for more than half her life.

Eiji’s was nothing surprising to her, and nothing overly interesting either. She cared very little what his favorite pizza topping was, though she did disagree. Not all meat was good on a pizza. Some meats, yes, but certainly not all. Scrolling past his, Mac glanced up at Asa as his answer appeared next. She had no idea what ikebana was—she’d have to ask the man later when they were dismissed from this ridiculous game of twenty questions—but the mixed martial arts sparked her attention. That was something she was passionate about. In her training, they only taught her basic fighting style, something that could be taught in self-defense classes. Wanting to be better prepared, and simply liking learning different fighting styles, wanting to improve her skills, and seeing an almost artistic beauty in the action, she’d started taking lessons in several styles of mixed martial arts, such as Krav Maga and Taekwondo. Maybe she and Asa could learn a thing or so from each other, and it would be nice to have a sparring part for the duration of her stay here.

Macallan chuckled slightly at Tina’s awkward answer to her personal question. Had Mac been answering that herself, she’d have put down last to die, as her survival instincts and training put her senses on a higher level of alert. However, listening to Tina put herself in the shoes of each character and really think of who she’d be was slightly amusing to her, especially when she came to the conclusion that she’d be somewhere in the middle, making time for the others to escape. Macallan smiled when she read Nobu’s. She was quickly becoming fond of the small, soft-spoken male despite never having spoken to him. He was cute, and he this gentle, cuddly aura about him that calmed her in a way very few people ever had. It was a feeling she missed, and now she remembered just how much.

She grimaced after reading Yuuki’s. Macallan hated to have her privacy invaded, by anyone or anything, for anyone or anything. It irritated her to no end when people somehow rarely ever understood the meaning of personal space. On top of that, the idea of fame had always been less than desirable to Mac. She had no interest in having her life broadcasted to the entire population, and she’d never cared about money enough for that part of it to interest her either. Fame just wasn’t her thing. Continuing to scroll, Macallan paused on the next answer. It was only two words. Two simple, innocent little words. But it was everything Macallan’s answer said without actually saying those words. They were still difficult for her to say; Joshua’s loss was still a fresh wound. She looked up at the doctor with a saddened frown. She wanted to tell the woman she knew what it felt like to lose the man you loved, but she wouldn’t. Doing so meant talking about her own loss, and that was something she was far from able and willing to do.

Mac looked up when Ryouichi stood and left the table. She wished she could follow him. A solitary walk outside with nothing but the sounds of nature as her company sounded like heaven to her right about then. Still, she stayed put. She’d sit through the rest of this ridiculous game, and then she’d be free to do as she pleased. A motion in the corner of her eye drew her attention to Asa, and she felt her heart squeeze emotionally in her chest when he held a fist over his heart and opened it towards her. A wave of emotion flooded her, and she turned her gaze away, taking in a deep breath before she turned back. When Tina offered an apology for the bad experiences a couple of them had had, Macallan offered only a nod in acknowledgement, using that one movement to say “I hear you” and “Thank you” in one sentence.

Macallan glanced a Yuuki when she offered her own timid apology for the bad experiences her new roommates had in their lives, then turned her gaze to Vivian as the doctor spoke up. She liked how calm and composed the woman was despite the news she’d just delivered to the room. It reminded her of herself, and Mac knew the woman had to have military training. She wondered where she was from, and what kind of training she had. She’d have to ask her later, preferably when she knew her better. Knowing another round of questions was coming their way, Macallan reached for her water glass on the table, taking several generous sips before setting it down and picking up her tablet to await the next round of questions.

Ryouichi had just taken a long deep drag of his cigaret when Asa's voice sounded behind him. It came as no surprise that the young male had followed him outside, and somehwere it did warm his currently very empty heart. However he hardly responded to it as he walked further away from him. Not to get away, but simply because he was feeling restless. "I might not be the best company at the moment," he warned the younger male. He had not even looked up as he took some more drags. The ashtray left behind on the outside table, which he now realised was quite a problem as he was on the other side of the outside pool. He had to admit that this place was rather neat. Definitely coming fresh out of prison. Though he assumed even for the other seven it was rather luxurious. Or perhaps not all of them, Eiji must be used to this?

I like your face. He scoffed to himself. What was there to like about his face? Then again, Asa had followed him out as well. So appartently they seem to think there is something likeable about him. A second cigaret had found its place between his lips now, while he dumbed the filter of the first one that had fully burned to the end between his fingers. He let it fall into the ashtray, before looking up at the chef. "No, I doubt there is anything you can help with, unless you have a time machine hidden somewhere so I could undo the past," he said. Yet how far back would he go? Even if he would have saved Misaki that faithful day... It might not mean he would be save for the rest of the life. Would he go back far enough to not join the Scorpions? But, they would have been evicted than. He wouldn't want his little brother to grow up on the streets or going from place to place, never something to call home. He let out a deep sigh.

And even if he had lived after that day...Would he have grown up into the bright teenager and young adult he had been as a kid? Would he be standing here, smiling brightly at him, instead of this male he didn't know at all? They were the same age. Or close to the same age. Would Misaki be friends with Asa? He doubted it. More so because most friendships were made during college, right? And he doubted that Misaki would have wanted to be a chef or go to a culinary school. On the other hand why not? As an eleven year old, he had not really made a decision on his carreer or life or... He sighed deeply again. If Asa had been talking to him, he had not heard a single word the other had spoken. Though knowing the young chef he had tried to make those stupid awkward jokes, that would really have been awkwardnow falling on deaf ears. He pushed the second cigaret down in the ashtray and watched it slowly die. "What made you chose to go to culinary school?" he asked suddenly. He looked back up to the male, before shaking his head. "We should probably save that conversation for after dinner," he said, this time breaking off the conversation himself, "let's go back inside."

The stoic male managed to put something like a smile on his face. He pushed the doors open and it didn't really seem like the atmosphere had changed much. Though some tension seemed to have lifted itself. Thanks to Vivian, though he hadn't really catched all that she had said. Just something about being too lazy to turn on the lights. He watched her take some wine and followed her example. Though instead of the wine bottle, he picked up the sake. "Anyone want some sake?" he asked. He really hoped so, since it was bad luck and bad custom to pour himself sake. By pouring for someone else, the favor would have to be returned, right? He was still standing, so he'd be able to pour who ever wanted some.

Just like promised after fifteen minutes of them having the chance to talk about it, the answers dissapeared from the screen. The old man came back up, smiling friendly at all of them, which made it very obvious it was just a recorded video. "Ah, so are all of you ready for the second round?" he said with that same friendly tone. He let his gaze wander a bit, 'looking' at all eight of them individually. "I really hope you are enjoying the food and drinks. After today, you will be in charge. But that shall be no problem with such a great chef among you," he complimented the young culinary student.

The older male sat back in his chair as he crossed his arms on top of the desk he was sitting behind. "So let's see what this round will bring you," he said, "again you can chose your individual questions yourself by tapping one of the numbers on your screen. You cannot chose the same number as the last round of course." He chuckled a bit like a friendly grandpa. As he spoke the tablets also changed back to the screen they had first started with. It displayed the participants name and below it the number path. The previous chosen number was duller and even if tapped nothing would happen. "Don't be afraid to chose the same number as some one else, you each have your own set of nine questions," he said. Though that was quite logical and obvious or they would have all chosen a different number in the first room, which was very unlikely.

"So, let's see, the general question you will all have to answer... Ah, this is a nice one," the male spoke, "very fitting for the situation. Perhaps we should have started with this." He kept them all in suspense for a moment longer. His eyes traveled from the question that was written down on the paper on his desk back up to them. "How much do you judge a person by their appearance?" he asked, "you will answer that by giving your judgement over the person on your left. Keep it as short or make it as long as you want. Have fun!" The recording of the male faded as it now showed only the question once more. Underneath it was a little timer counting down from five minutes.

The atmosphere was heavy. Should Nobu have offered his condolences too? He had already asked this to himself earlier but was now second guessing himself a bit. Not that he didnt feel bad for Vivan, he did but he was sure she probably didn't want to have everyone crowding around and saying sorry, especially strangers. At least that was how he saw it. He wasn't the best at things like social cues. He'd miss them or misunderstand them from time to time so he would at times second guess his decisions like this.

Vivan had saved them from the silent with her words in a manner as graceful as her looks. Lightening the air with a joke. Which was good, he was sure he wasn't the only one feeling suffocated by the silence in the room since it was a rather awkward one. He admired how she handles the situation even if it must have been difficult for her.

It was around the time that Ryou and Asa had returned to the table as well. Ryou seeming a little less out of sorts than before he left. His gaze followed the man as he stopped before making it to his seat asking about Sake. Social cues may not have been his strong suit, but pleasantries and customs were easy to remember and take part in. His grandparents were really traditional and it was them that raised him through most of his childhood so he even knew about the crazy superstitious customs. Not pouring ones own drink was a common one though. His eyes travelled around the faces at the table before moving back to the male beside him. He then timidly raised his hand. "I'll take some" He answered softly with a smile since nobody else had yet to answer. Once Ryou would pour him some, He would thank him and return the favour in the same fashion.

Once everyone was seated again the tv had came back on to suggest more questions. Nobu would gave been lying if he said he didn't feel his heart flutter a little in panic at the thought of having difficult questions at the table again. Could this man not go away and let them just enjoy the meal? No. This was the game. This was what he signed up for...or rather this was what he signed up for after many days of 'pretty please' from his friend back home. Either way there was no point in complaining. He could just be glad they didn't throw anything difficult for him. With that thought in mind and the man finished talking once more, Nobu had lifted his tablet to tackle the next round of questions...

"How much do you judge a person by their appearance? you will answer that by giving your judgement over the person on your left. Keep it as short or make it as long as you want."

Nobu immediately moved his dark brown gaze to the woman next to him. Mac. Not exactly a subtle thing to do. Once he realised this he quickly looked back to the tablet and held his breath. Not a bad question but at the same time outright commenting on someone's appearance was a difficult thing to do. What if he sounded rude without meaning to? Best be calm and just to type before he overthinks it.

"Mac looks like she has a very strong personality. A very pretty lady. But I don't think I'd want to make her angry..."

He typed and sent before he could think about it too much. Next was the personal questions. While last time he lazily picked any number he seemed to stare at the device that little bit longer of course the numbers meant nothing at face value so he ended up just going for 4.

"What is your favourite architectural wonder?"

Nobu couldn't help but grin at his question. Being given an excuse to nerd out about something he loved was definitely an opportunity he'd snatch up. It was always enough to calm him and he immediately began typing.

"That depends on Ancient or Modern. Ancient would for sure be the palace of Alhambra in Spain. It's an impressive castle on the outside but inside it has the most amazing engravings and attention to detail on the walls, I dont speak a word of Spanish, but I'd love to be able to see it at least once. Modern would probably be Agora Tower in Taiwan. Its got an interesting shape and looks like something form a sci-fi film with the plants and trees lining the sides but I like the fact it's pretty much self sufficient for its residents where food and electricity is concerned. It really interests me to see peoples attempts at Eco friendly buildings the results are always off the wall."

He suddenly stopped typing....he was going to keep going if he didn't pull the plug on it. He reminded himself that everyone else at the table wouldn't want to read a essay type answer about buildings like he would. With a somewhat bashful expression after remembering this he left his table to the side to go back to eating his meal. Even if he had to cut himself off answering before he'd jump down the rabbit hole he actually enjoyed getting to answer that question an unlucky number had gotten him a pretty lucky question. Hopefully it was the same for the others.

» Failed Comforts

Thankfully it seemed like his answers were receiving positive feedback. The glances of his new fellow housemates were fixing on him one by one and he returned their look with a small smile or heartfelt filled eyes. It seemed like everyone had a chance to connect because of those questions and those looks he received served as a small source of confidence boost for him when he made his way out to help the man who he had become most friendly with in his short time at the house, Ryou.

Ryou was letting out a mouthful of smoke when Asa stepped outside. He was doing his best not to stare down the upset male so he kept his gaze out at the peaceful and pretty sight of the backyard. To think that they would all live at this luxurious house together still had not quite set in. Hopefully the serenity of the outdoors would calm Ryou a bit as well. Though that thought didn't seem likely as the first thing Asa heard from him was that he wouldn't be the best company. Which admittedly hurt Asa. It made him feel like he had made the wrong decision to try to comfort his new friend. On top of the statement, Ryou didn't even steal a small look in his direction. Asa let the male stand in silence for a moment before he felt he had to do something. He did come out here to attempt to help after all. As he was thinking about what to say Ryou had made a small joke about wanting a time machine. Asa doesn't know anything about Ryou's past but it confused the young chef. Ryou kept letting out sighs and Asa finally thought of something to say.

“If I had a time machine I would probably be some sort of scientist, not be a chef.” An awkward statement since his culinary focus was centered around doing food science. “Your past doesn't define you though. The decisions you made were for a reason and you shouldn't hate part of yourself.” Now he was getting philosophical. The words of his old sensei were sounding through his head and making it to his voice. That had to stop. “I think we would all be in a bad position if I was a scientist. I've already made messes with baking soda volcanoes.” Oh no, the bad joke that just flashed into his head was too powerful for his conscience to block. “Or maybe it would be helpful since I could turn you from blue cheese into happy cheese.” His voice at the end of his joke clearly showing the intent of comedy as he followed his own joke up with drum taps on the table nearby. Not only was it embarrassing to say, it seemed like Ryou didn't hear a word he had said. Or hew as choosing to ignore them. Now Asa was more worried. Ryou smashed a cigarette into the ashtray and suddenly stared into his eyes to ask him a question. Asa was too frozen to answer immediately but before he had a full second to give it thought Ryou said they should return to dinner. Thankfully he said he wanted to talk after dinner. So he doesn't find me weird or hate me. Phew.

Asa followed the older male inside with a slightly defeated look on his face. He failed in helping his friend but he also knew he couldn't let himself look upset in front of everyone. With a small breath he forced the smile on his face as he returned to his seat. Things seemed to be lighter than when he had left, thankfully, and he took a sip of water to re-acclimate himself. Ryou and Nobu were going to take part in sake and though Asa understood why, drinking was something he was normally wary of. He took another bite of food when the old man presented himself again.

Asa's cheeks turned a slight pink when the old man complimented his skills. He felt like he had much more to learn and improve on but it was appreciated. The new general question was a bit awkward to him but it would help everyone get over the awkward introductions at least. But first, his personal question. Picking up the tablet in front of him, Asa chose the number nine for no particular reason. He may have been lazy and wanted something near his dominant hand. The question that appeared was too accurate. Do you have an embarrassing routine for going to bed? Yes. Indeed he did. And he was not particularly wanting to tell anyone, let alone everyone, about it. But now he had no choice since they would find out sooner rather than later. He chuckled as he wrote his response. 'I do. I guess you would all learn of it eventually but sadly I will not be able to fulfill my routine here. Prior to falling asleep I lay on my bed and speak to my pet fish about whatever is on my mind. It has always been a way for my mind to stop racing and allow me to sleep peacefully.' Now all that was left was the last question and hoping that no one would make fun of him for his childish honesty.

Now to judge the person to his left. As kindly as possible. Vivian. A woman he had seen be angry and dominant yet is clearly graceful and poised. He held his gaze on her for a solid minute before smiling and returning to the tablet to type up his answer. 'From her actions and statements so far tonight she seems to be an intelligent, confident, and kind individual. She has no problem speaking her mind and being herself. I envy the freedom she expresses and look forward to spending time with her.' Finally done, he sent the answers in and took a deep breath as he relaxed into his chair, trying to let the food calm him from the emotional roller coaster he was just on.

[div class=container][div class=image][/div] [div class=blk][div class=title]Tina Tillit [div class=line][/div] [div class=lil]The Cosplayer[/div][/div] [div class=b][div class=lilimage][/div][/div] [div class=info] [div class=post][div class=scroll] The housemates were all responding to the answers to the first set of questions in their own way. Macallan, one of the people with a painful question and response, seemed to give Tina a small acknowledgment to her condolences. That was plenty since lingering on these painful memories was not something anyone should have to do.

Since the young chef had followed the muscular man outside, Tina was still sitting in in the tensed air of the dining room. Thankfully it was not overly tense for long as Vivian spoke up to diffuse the tension. She had such grace and honesty in her mannerisms that Tina couldn't help but think the woman was like some sort of ideal character from a show she has seen before. Too precious and kind, normally resulting from being hurt incredibly in the past. Nonetheless, Vivian continued and successfully calmed everyone's nerves a bit with a light-hearted joke. Tina forced a light giggle since she felt like it would be rude to laugh but the short story was indeed funny. “I think we've all wanted to avoid being blinding by the lights at the early hours of the morning. No one can blame you for that decision.” Tina grabbed her wine glass and tilted it towards Vivian as a long distance cheers before she began to fill her glass most of the way. She would take her time drinking the wine but she didn't want to have to reach across the table again.

As she set the bottle down Ryou and Asa had reentered the room. Asa sitting down and seeming different from when he had left and Ryou seeming to want to join in on the alcoholic ventures that her and Vivian were already started on. When he offered sake, Tina silently shook her head and held up her glass to show him that she had already started with something else. To her surprise though, the cute shy boy across the table, Nobu, seemed to follow Ryou's lead and accepted his offer. It was honestly a shock that the shy man would even be interested in sake but that wasn't fair for Tina to judge him so quickly. It looked as though things had actually become less stressful again. It's practically a party. She joked to herself as she took a big gulp from her wine glass.

Setting the glass down, she watched the two men pour sake for each other right before the television flicked on again. This time Tina couldn't help herself from responding to him as he spoke. “As ready as we can be!” The playfulness returned to her and the wine had possibly already started to have an effect on her. She should have been more aware of how much she had been drinking but she also did not think she would take the almost full glass of wine to almost empty in a mere couple of minutes. She was at a loss for why she had done that. The old man then complimented the man next to her and he was so clearly embarrassed it was adorable to see up close. Tina nudged him joyfully as the old man explained the rules again. But now it was question response time. Awesome!

She swiftly picked up the tablet and excitedly selected the number two. Two for what question they were on, of course! This made sense to her buzzed brain. The question appeared on her screen: 'What immediately disqualifies a potential significant other?' Pft! A scoff escaped her lips as the answer instantly came to mind and she typed furiously at the tablet. 'Being close minded. It usually means a person is stuck up, boring, rude, nd more. Having an opinion is one thng but not bing open to dscusion or unerstnding is another.' She hit the enter button angrily without even checking her answer over. It was probably fine and she was confident in it. Now to the general question! Tina did a small wiggle in her chair as she read the request again. She looked to her left to see the smiling Asa sinking back into his chair. With a blatant side eye, she started tapping her fingers against the screen again. 'Hnesly I want to eat his food. You already sad he's a great chef so it's gotta be great. And he seems super extra kind and innocent and I wa-' Whoops. She hit enter by accident. Whatever. The answer she gave was sufficient and this time auto correct saved her more than it did on her last response, not that she knew. She took another sip of her almost empty wine glass before looking at the table. Why did the bottle move farther away? Tina sat there in a small trance for a moment deliberating if she should grab more wine or not as the others answered questions. She didn't want to bother Asa as he was clearly enjoying dinner.

Dining Table
Interaction | Eiji ( OSWonder OSWonder ), Answering a question about Tina ( iShyShy iShyShy )
Outfit |

Thank goodness Vivian was as graceful with her word as Yuuki assumed she would be, joking off the tense atmosphere with ease, even pulling a gentle giggle from the Idol. It was almost a quality Yuuki envied as once she was upset the waterworks would start...and they would not stop. She wished she had that level of self control. She caught the smile Eiji had shot towards her from his seat at the table and of course she smiled right back with as much energy as she would normally showcase.

As the two men that had left returned, Yuuki only glanced up briefly. She was mentally preparing herself for the next round of questions. Hoping that she wouldn't receive something too difficult for her personal questions. She didn't take the older males offer to pour a drink. She had only turned 20 a few months back so she was just over the legal age to drink, being so busy with her solo debut she never really tried it yet and a table of strangers didn't seem like a good time to do that without knowing her tolerance. She'd stick to water and soda. It seemed the quiet boy next to him had politely taken his offer anyway so at least someone had.

It was not long after that the TV had turned back on to start the next round of questions. She couldn't help but flick her gaze towards the chef as the man on the tv complimented him, catching his slightly bashful response to receiving praise. It was nice to know someone could cook among them because she wasnt going to lie, the kitchen was a foreign land to her. She did not and could not cook to save her life... She tilted her head at the general question before immediately looking to her left at Tina. That didn't seem too bad of a question to her at all. She lifted her tablet and began to type.

"I like Tina's style. I feel like she's a super colourful and fun person ^o^!"

Content with her answer though short, she submitted the answer and with the same method as before she closed her eyes and randomly clicked on a point of the screen opening her eyes again after to check the question she opened.

"Are you afraid of the dark and Why?"

Her cheeks flared red as soon as she read the question. Did they ask this question on purpose? That was not a fear she was proud of. She was a grown woman after all but she supposed that they expected the truth for her answers, especially if she was going to be living here with these individuals.

"Embarrassing to admit but I'm sure people will notice eventually if I'm living here. Yes, I'm absolutely terrified of the dark <-<; Its lonely, you can't see where you are. Where you are going and if someone is with you or not, I don't like that thought"

She sent off her answer pretty quick he cheeks now cooling after sending it off, she looked up to see everyone else still typing away.

[/div] [/div] [/div] [div class=right] [div class=scroll] Delighted that she had managed to soothe the tense atmosphere somewhat with her joke, Vivian grinned at Tina, thankful for the woman capitalizing on her distraction. Quickly, the Indian woman was distracted by the incoming message of another round. Hopefully they took note of her earlier comment and refrained from such tense and difficult topics--but she doubted that everything would be smooth sailing. After all, this was an experiment. How else would they record reactions and observe trends if they didn't rock the boat a bit?

Vivian took a long sip of her red before selecting her number, her eyes softening as she saw the question. Not bad, nothing that would cause another uproar. The smartest animal and why.... Well, this was interesting. She had heard of psychological studies making correlations between the animal you chose and your mentality. Interesting--- she wanted to see what her choice said about her.

I'd say that the fox is the smartest. Not really a particular fox or anything, just in general. It's quite wily and knows how to get what it wants, and is really protective of its own group. That's pretty smart, in my opinion.

There. Onto the general question. "I hate judging by appearance. Say what you will, but everyone is fluctuating. You might catch someone on one of the worst days of their life, and develop a close-minded opinion, which isn't fair for either party. Upon first impression, I find my impression of Eiji initially to be comfortable and casual, which I appreciate. I've heard of his career before, and he seems quite down-to-earth, which doesn't necessarily apply to the other celebrities I've met before. I'd love to get to know him better, so don't hold me to this answer! : ) "
