About

A laid back slice of life RP, inspired by a plenty of 80's media, but mostly akin to Netflix's Glow/Hollywood but set in the 1980's. We look at the lives of a group of young people, who aspire to be something in the glamorous world of Hollywood. We follow their journey, struggles and ambitions, and see how their lives interconnect with one another. This will mostly be a character, story driven rp, without any strict linear story line but mostly dependent on character development and the interaction between characters and the world. The rp will be set around a number of key places in LA, and probably one area where the players will gather at some point in the story. (A party/event perhaps?) For now that's the gist of the rp, I will probably add more details and plots in the future.

Roles

I wont be too nitpicky on the roles, though I'd prefer having a variety of careers, personalities and aspirations. A wide eyed musician from a small town, an overpriveledged actor/actress, an overzealous wrestler, a discreet part time porn star or a contemplative screenwriter. Just to name a few examples. But mostly, I'd prefer to leave everything to the player's creative freedom!

Rules

- Follow RPN rules
- I am quite nit picky on face claims. To have the full 80's experience, and maybe add a little twist to this rp, I will only allow realistic FC's from 80's 90's.
-RP may contain mature content.
-Respect other players. IC drama is the only kind of drama allowed.
-A minimum of 2 paragraph post per week, ideally.
-Just to make sure you've read all the rules, what is your favorite 80's/90's movie?

Welcome to Los Angeles

It was the summer of 1986. You look through the window taxi, or your own car maybe, as the sunset basked through the cityscape and palm trees one last time as it surrenders for the day. And the first of the street lights and neon flickering one by one, making way for the Los Angeles' vibrant and glamorous night life.


Hollywood is the place where you let your dreams become a reality. And you could say you're somebody who has ambitious dreams that needs fulfilling. Though with harsh competition and circumstance, it's never been easy, not even for anyone, to make something of themselves in Hollywood. But you always felt that your passion amounts to something and somehow that is true. It's either you would do what it takes to to reach those dreams, or maybe you're the laid back type who takes his time, more interested in the journey rather than the destination. Nonetheless you are eager to see what destiny has to offer. Even if you have to start off small, but then again, that's Hollywood.

I'll have to think about it. The reason why I prefer discord is, using the channels for the multiple locations around LA. Since the characters have their own individual thing in the story (starting points, activities, etc), and shouldn't linger in the same spot for the rest of the rp until the next scene, basically it just mostly helps with organizing posts in their specific locations for easy navigation, if that makes sense.

Hello? Soo uumm, dont really have an impressive explanation for my absence other than life happened . Very sorry about that BUT I am still very much up for this now that I have a much lenient schedule If interests are lost, I understand completely. That is mostly on me for not updating and leaving everyone in the lurch.
