The Hoard of the Dragon Queen
Episode 1: Greenest

Five days ago in the Town of Easting, you were all offered 500g to travel with Mr. Takashi's Caravan to Balder's Gate. Offer was extended by a lesser known merchant group called The Guild, and would be trading and shifting goods between the towns they travel to.

*General Knowledge* Mr. Takashi is a charismatic middle aged half elf who owns the six wagon caravan. Each wagon is a covered wagon pulled by two horses each, have two drivers each, and at max four guards per wagon. There is a total of 18 hired hands for protection and/or work.

Two days ago you all had just left the first town of Iriabor; and are now on your way to the lovely town of Greenest to drop off the precious metals, clothing, alcohol and other goods. So far there has been no excitement or need of hired hands, but the general consensus is you will be needed after you pass Greenest.

*Go ahead, explain what you have been doing for the past 5 days. Roll what you think you need to do any action you may want to do that would require a roll. Example: To make potions with a Herbalism Kit/Apothecary kit, try to get more information with Mr. Takashi, Bluff or intimidate other player's or passengers, etc etc.*

Rumours of his brother’s death had driven him to the edges of his sanity, especially since his elder brother, Galadir, was too busy with his own problems, saying that he would accompany his search for vengeance in his own way. He somehow doubted it, he knew that his brother would eventually get to it, at some point, but how soon was eventually? Fifty years? A hundred? Whoever killed their brother could be long dead by then, and vengeance would slip beyond their fingers; he couldn’t allow that.

His sister on the other hand had given him some support, in her own way. A sort of blessing in a way, saying that her work in Neverwinter was far too important to leave alone, but that she would accompany him when she could. It was in the end up to him to search for his brother’s killer, alone. And how ironic was that? The family outcast, the one that had gone off the rails and had come close to bringing shame to them all, was the only one actively seeking revenge.

He would have wished otherwise, but what choice did he have? He followed every rumour he heard, asking anyone who knew of an elf that fit his brother’s description and after a month and a half of looking he heard a whisper. Baldur’s Gate, it was where his brother was when, according to bard, he was last seen. It was only convenient that he ran into Takashi when he did, and decided that he would pay his way to his destination in the form of acting as a guard. There was irony in that too.

For the past five days on the road, he tried keeping his mind off his brother by talking to the others or practicing his swordplay in the night when his Trance was over to keep himself busy, to the point where it became a ritual, to see the sunrise while he practiced forms, footwork, and kept his weapon sharp.

Malfindor currently sat on one of the wagons, sharpening his sword as he looked at the scenery pass by, letting the sound of the whetstone scraping against the steel of his weapon wash over him. “I don’t think I ever asked,” he said to the group in general, “but what brought you all here, if you don’t mind the prying. Trying to keep the boredom at bay, you see.”
