HISTORY
Welcome to the History section and the start of the Lore section! In the Introduction, we're going to go over the events that lead to our characters' current predicament. In Previous Chapters you can find a basic rundown of what happened in previous chapters (hurrdurr). Future Chapters is where I'll put ideas for Future Chapters and you guys can see if you like 'em or not. Once you're done here you can move onto Settings & Locations.
Introduction
You're probably wondering how our adorable helpless little Assembly landed themselves on an unfamiliar war-torn continent with the primary military power of the land hunting their heads. Well, lets start at the beginning.
200 Years Ago: The Grey War
Up until this time, the continent of Neth had been ruled by two nations: Palenia and Fuccino. Both countries waged war on each other off and on like bickering ex's for their entire history. Palenia's roots in tradition and Fuccino's boner for progression kept them ideologically divided. That in and of itself wouldn't have been a problem. Palenia and Fuccino have never been able to mind their own business, and have always been eager to push their views onto their rivals so that all of Neth could get on the same damn page.
Their aggressive will to unify each other resulted in countless battles that often took place in the center of the continent where their borders met. Eventually, the people in the middle got sick of having their farms burned down every ten years and shit. So they decided to unify into a militia known as the Grey Force. The Greys were composed of Palenians and Fuccini who believed that the only way to establish peace on Neth was to separate the two nations and form a third independent state. Their knowledge of both Palenian and Fuccini tactics won them the war, and the new nation of Herranow was formed. And so began an age of peace on Neth.
5 Years Ago: Operation New World
Five years ago, Nethite explorers hypothesized that their skinny little mass of land wasn't alone in the world. There had long been talk of worlds outside of Neth, but due to centuries of war, Palenia, Herranow, and Fuccino spent most of its history worrying about themselves and their own political conflicts. But soon, the fighting stopped. After enjoying two whole centuries of peace, all three Nethite Leaders put together a fleet of explorers, sent half of them west, and the other half east.
This project was called Operation New World, and included volunteers from all three Nethite nations working in tandem for the first time in history. The Eastern Team never returned, and the results of their journey are unknown.
The Western team was a different story.
4 Years Ago: The Rising Sun
Satrella did not take kindly to strange ships on their horizon. Taros, the militant powerhouse of the land was the first to make contact. As one might expect from the nation's history, they responded with violence.
Most of the Western team was wiped out, and the rest were taken prisoner and questioned about their homeland. After discovering that the Nethites had come in peace, the Tarosian military held a council with its neighbors: Wynda, Ifrin, and Aquano.
Wynda and Aquano immediately decided that the prisoners should be freed and that the Satrellians should meet with the rulers of Neth and make reparations for Taros's foolhardy response to their mission.
However, the Tarosians were not so trusting. Having spent the most time with the prisoners studying them and their ways, they had learned of twisted religions and customs that threatened the delicate balance that the Satrellians had managed to strike after centuries of war and conflict.
Ifrin was divided as usual.
Eventually, the four nations decided to attempt to make peace with their newfound neighbors to the east. But Taros betrayed their word and began a blitzkrieg-like war to take over the entire continent in an effort to unite it against Neth.
Imperos of Wynda was the first place to be hit. The Tarosians made an example of the land, and it has become one of the bloodiest battles in Satrellian History. From that point on, the lines were drawn, sides were taken, and war began. It was during this time that rumors of the Songstress, a woman who could supposedly summon angels with her singing voice, began to emerge, and Emperor Steele of Taros demanded that she be brought forth. The Imperial Palace became the center of the Tarosian operation.
The Tarosians formed SUN, the Satrellian United Nations. They enlisted the help of several Ifrinic Warlords, the elites of Wynda, various Aquani tribes, bandits, pirates, smugglers, you name it. SUN crusades all over Satrella with the goal of uniting the entire continent, and later Neth, under the Emperor's leadership for a better, brighter world. For this reason, SUN is often referred to as the Rising Sun, for the Emperor promises to bring light to the world by unifying it politically under one SUN, just as the world is in its natural state.
As the war continued, captured soldiers and civilians were sent to the Imperial Capital to take part in a "groundbreaking" magical experiment. The information regarding this "experiment" has been kept under wraps since the war began. Its details are known only to the researchers directly involved and the 13 Apostles.
The war in Wynda became a civil war as many of its regions sided with the Empire, or at least considered it. Resistance leaders were juggled, killed, and juggled again, until eventually, a charismatic young warrior known as Uryva and a brilliant young strategist named Edvyn created a force and a banner capable of uniting all of Wynda.
2 Years Ago: The Assembly
Taros planned to lure Neth's most powerful leaders to their land under the guise of a peaceful meeting. However, the plan was to capture them, hold 'em hostage, and leave the rest of Neth runnin' around like a chicken with its head cut off.
So, they enlisted the help of a Nethite Explorer by the name of Hayden, who was totally ignorant of the war in Satrella and Taros's plans on account of being locked up in a cage the last few years. Hayden was to serve as their messenger. They sent him/her along with a small crew in a Nethite vessel back to Neth to convince Nethite royalty to visit Taros and make peace with their new neighbors.
Taros promised to release all of the prisoners, to form a peace treaty, and to gift the Nethite explorers with a small portion of their treasury as an apology for their suffering.
The foolish Hayden agreed, and found passage back to Neth with Tarosian messengers.
The leaders of Neth had long considered both their Eastern and Western teams dead, and were shocked to find that there was indeed life in the west. The Tarosian ambassadors and Hayden assured them that the Satrellians only wanted peace between the two continents.
The leaders of Neth decided this would be a perfect opportunity to showcase the talent of their young heirs, and make this glorious moment in the history of the world a triumph for their children, who would soon inherit their thrones. Prince Blank Blank of Herranow, Vicar Blank Blank of Palenia, and Senator Blank Blank of Fuccino were chosen as the emissaries. Each of them brought along two of their most trusted retainers and an assistant.
And so, they formed the Assembly of Neth to represent their unified countries and learn the customs and ways of the Satrellians.
Before the Tarosian messengers returned home, they tasked Hayden with the job of Navigator. He/She would be the one to lead The Assembly back to Satrella.
The Tarosian messengers returned home before the Assembly set sail, and notified the Emperor that the leaders of Neth themselves would not be arriving, but their heirs would. The Emperor altered his plans of executing their leaders, because simply killing their children would only agitate the country against them. No, now the Emperor seeks to form a forceful allegiance with the countries of Neth.
Present Time: The Assembly Gets Boned
Once the Satrellians returned home, everything was set to "welcome" the Nethite royals.
When the Assembly arrived after a long ass journey overseas, they got "welcomed" alright...with a small military force set to take the Assembly in to be publicly executed or used as ransom or...something nefarious, they don't fuckin' know! All they know is, the Tarosians have some fucked up shit planned for them. The Tarosians burned the Assembly's vessel, the Blue Rose, to a crisp, thus preventing their escape from the foreign land. To make matters worse, shortly after the Assembly set sail, there was a coup in Fuccino that resulted in a massive power shift. The current "official" Fuccini government has allied itself with SUN.
Maybe it was a stroke of luck, maybe it was some good ol' tactical genius, but the Assembly escaped, and learned from the locals that Satrella is in the middle of a war...and Wynda is their best bet for passage back home to enlist the help of Neth.
Armed with only the equipment they have on them, a small force, and a map of the continent, the group hides in the wilderness of Taros, attempting to cross the great river separating Taros and Wynda...but the Tarosian military power extends further than they know...
But fortune shines upon them. A Tarosian courier lead Edvyn the strategic brain of the Wyndan Resistance straight to the group. Now the Resistance and the Assembly must work together to get Lamont, Zakai, and Diana back home to enlist the help of the Nethite army and push Taros out of Wynda, and put an end to their invasion. Little do they know, the shit's already going down in Neth...

CHAPTER 1
"Oh, hi there!"
Location: Fortune Bridge
It's in that ugly little light green circle, I'm sorry it's so ugly and faded I'll do better next time xD
The Great Bridges are a network of bridges that connect the small islands of Taros and Wynda to each other and to the mainland. The Assembly received a tip that in order to escape to Wynda, their best bet would be to cross Fortune Bridge, which connects from the Tarosian mainland to a tiny Wyndan island known as Fornith. Fornith is currently occupied by the Tarosian-Ifrinic alliance, but the rebels have established an underground railroad of sorts to smuggle Resistance loyals capable of joining the Resistance back to the mainland.
The Assembly had no choice but to move in broad daylight across the bridge, fearing that if they waited for nightfall their pursuers would catch up to them. Meanwhile, Vyn is leading a covert mission to secure information about enemy troop movements by capturing a Tarosian courier known as Mercury. At the end of the bridge on the Fornith side, the two groups have a chance encounter as the small force tracking down the Assembly finally catches up.
After working together to defeat the Tarosians, the The Assembly joins the Wyndan Resistance.

CHAPTER 2
As Above, So Below
Location: The Whispering Woods, Imperos
Fortune shines upon the Assembly. Diana and Vyn have managed to plant of seed of diplomacy between the Resistance and the Assembly. With their powers combined, they hope to find safe passage for the Assembly so that the entire continent of Neth can be enlisted against the unforgiving march of the legions of Taros.
They're on their way to meet the leader of the Wyndan Resistance, Uryva: a young man with a penchant for justice and a strong arm in combat. With no time to waste, the group decides to travel through the night. The forests of Imperos are poorly protected by the forces the Tarosian-Ifrinic Alliance left behind. It would appear that they are focused on holding the larger towns and cities, thus allowing the Resistance relatively safe passage through The Whispering Woods, a region recently renamed after the fall of Imperos. But tonight, they've happened upon a forbidden ritual that could alter their course.
Meanwhile, two riders of the Resistance seek out the Elven tactition Vyn, second only to Uryva himself, with dire news. Strangers from a nearby village comb the woods for a grandfather's missing granddaughter. Foul creatures lurk within the darkness. Will our heroes be swallowed whole by ill understood forces? Or will they survive a dark night in The Whispering Woods?
Obviously they're gonna survive lmfao. And so they did. After capturing a poorly practiced necromancer, the group aligns with Fridith and Eydis, along with two hunters, Roth and Lirim. The Resistance messengers bring some real fucked up news with them about Uryva...

Chapter 4: Sap Is Whack
Location: Duke's Path
Goal: Capture Three Enemy Bases
Optional Objective: Free all Prisoners for BITCH U GUESSED IT Treasure and stuff
Introducing
+Tazia
+Nephi
+A bandit turned good guy character or a capturable bandit
+Any other captured Laguz
+Perhaps a captured rebel
+Anyone else you guys can think of introducing after you read the synopsis weeeeeee
Synopsis: On their way to Castle Sagarus, the Resistance encounters a group of bandits called The Prowlers. The Prowlers are a group of bandits who used to specialize in drug trafficking. The drug is called Sakire Sap, better known simply as "Sap". Once the war started, the Prowlers also began to specialize as slavers too, and they're secretly receiving support from the Alliance to capture and trade Laguz slaves, random rebels, and to just generally cause trouble in Imperos.
So they're holed up in a hilly, mountainous path known as Duke's Path, named so because it's the quickest way to Castle Sagarus. Rumors have been floating around that bandits have taken over the area the area and are attacking people on their way to Sagarus. They're robbing, kidnapping, killing, extorting, and of course sellin' that sweet sweet sap. You know. Bandit stuff. Since most of Imperos's army was decimated and the rest were pretty much drafted to go fight elsewhere, and the Tarosians are working with The Prowlers to stifle Resistance movement and of course buy all dat Laguz booty, no one's doing jack shit about them.
However, The Resistance doesn't have time to go around the mountains, because if they did, Uryva would be fucking dead by the time they got to Castle Sagarus. So of course, they go through Duke's Path and bam, Chaos ensues. After a base is captured, the Prowlers will receive backup from Tarosian Gryphon Riders who were coming through to pick up the latest batch of slaves.
Mechanical Details: Each base on the path will have three bosses, so to speak. Wave already said they want to play the Big Boss, so that leaves two spaces open if any of you want to create one off villains for the chapter. If Wave opts to learn how to control the enemy and stuff for this Chapter, it'll be a no death Chapter. Every chapter where one of you volunteers to learn how to control the enemy for the first time will be a no death chapter actually.
- Chapter 5: Uryva
-
Chapter 5: Uryva
Location: Castle Sagarus
Goal: Rescue Uryva
Optional Objectives: Defeat Commander VII or Commander IX. Epic rewards per defeat.
Introducing
+Azusa
+Jacques
+Kira
+Uryva
+Cortea
Synopsis: It's the day of Uryva's execution. The Resistance arrives just in time for the show and must find a way to save Uryva without getting all their asses killed. Lucky for them, Spades' theatrical flair should buy them the time they need to perform a sneak attack and rescue the leader. If anything, this execution could backfire against the Empire and show the people that they aren't unstoppable. Vyn thinks up a brilliant plan (to be discussed lul) and they set it in motion and yeh mate, combat ensues. Really not a whole lot to say about this one yet.
Mechanical Details: This is gon' be a toughie. The crew will be bombarded with endless troops until Uryva is rescued.
- Chapter 6: Hunt of the Golden Prince
-
Chapter 6: Hunt Of The Golden Prince
Location: Some Forest In North Wynda or Whatever
Goal: Survive X Amount of Turns
Optional Objectives: ???
Introducing
+Taran
+Soa
+Any Laguz
Synopsis: After their narrow escape from Sagarus, our heroes continue their journey northbound. They've received word from a Resistance messenger that they could potentially find a way to sneak the Nethite Lords onto a boat and send them back to Neth. However, the retainers they brought with them cannot go along, as it would be harder to sneak them back and shit with more people. The camp takes a rest to wait out a snowstorm and to consider this before moving out to the Port.
However, their restful day is interrupted. Taran, the missing prince of Taros, has landed himself in a bit of a pickle. Having flown to Wynda in search of the Assembly, his luck's finally turned around! He found them! Now he can fuck them up and shit! Sike. Turns out being a missing prince puts quite the bounty on your head. Especially in a hostile country full of angry anti-Tarosians. He's being pursued not only by a bounty hunter named Soa, but by a group reasonably angry Laguz as well. Taran brings trouble to the Assembly when Soa captures him and the group takes them in.
Mechanical Details: This is a survival chapter, so our guys are gonna be in like a fort and shit. The enemies are all gonna be Laguz, so it'll give me a chance to mess around with them and see how their stats fare.
- Chapter 7: Deja Vu
-
Chapter 7: Deja Vu
Location: Some Port In North Wynda or Whatever
Goal: Defeat teh Boss?
Optional Objectives: ???
Introducing
+Punisher
+Anyone from Neth
+Any Tarosian Peeps
+Anymore Wyndan Resistance Peeps
Synopsis: The crew arrives at this Port or whatever where they intend on sending Zakai, Lamont, and Diana back to Neth aboard a secret ship. They're about to say their tearful goodbyes to their retainers when holy fuckballs, a ship from Neth comes sailing into the port, followed by a Tarosian Warship. Also, some Tarosian guys who were hot on Taran's trail followed the Assembly to the Port.
The Nethite ship holds people from Neth who came as backup after apparently some big fucked up shit went down in Neth shortly after the Assembly left. It is revealed that apparently Fuccino has sided with Taros. President Dusette has been assassinated and in his place is a King. A resistance toward this new rule has arisen in Fuccino.
With backup from the Neth dudes, the reinvigorated crew fights off the dudes and receives a new goal.
Mechanical Details: This is a crazy fuckball chapter where like, you fight a bunch of Tarosians, but also, the Tarosian Warship will be firing bombs at the end of every turn onto random cells.
