Set in the year 2032 but in a world with a conpletely different history. Magic and technology grew in tandem combining into a strange type of science that made almost anything possible. Humanity discovered other worlds, other dimensions, and even other species. All before the year 2000. However now a new craze has swept the land. Access to magic and technology has made the everyday person powerful, but the extraordianary people of this world are borderline godlike. Yet crime has become far more dangerous than in our universe. Now a common mugged could blast holes in buildings or even destroy a city. The worl Government attempted to address this with martial law in 2020.
However a band of men and women with a common goal came together to fight back this tyranical government and the dangerous criminals that the government was responding too. They called themselves the Heroes of Tomorrow. The HoT carried on with their goals and forced the government to end their martial law mandate as they not only brought in criminal after criminal but won every single skirmish with the government forces. With public support falling the WG's only option was to grant the HoT amnesty and bring them into spotlight, under the payroll of the WG, and get them all the resources they could ever need.
HoT numbers grew drastically the past twelve years. Now hundreds of heroes call its headquarters home. However the situation is starting to destabalize, new superhero groups are forming, crime is again on the rise, and whats worse the WG is pressuring HoT to treat the newly developing superhero groups as criminal vigilantes. Already several groups have decided to fightback including the Millennia Alliance, Legion of the Mighty, and the Icons. They have declared Sovereignty and each group dropped their cities put of the world government creating new nations for the first time in nearly three centuries. With the WG threatening war declarations the HoT find themselves torn between keeping the peace, and fighting for freedom. Many media outlets however claim the Hero Wars have already begun.
(Hiya folks. This Rp is a superhero story with a twist. The heroes will be fighting one another and villains are playable but not the main focus at all. You see bad guys are great, but kinda unrealistic. No one likes being the bad guy in real life unless they are mentally unstable. Now i am not referring to little bad things but the serious stuff. However what we do have loads of is people who think they are doing the right thing. Thats what i am looking for in heroes and villains. People who arent just evil because they have had hard lives or are crazy, people who have genuinely convinced themselves that what they are doing is the wrong thing. There is good and bad in everybody, so lets see some of both eh?)
