Mr. Catwell
One Time Luck
Dear Reader,
I am Mr. Catwell, a 32 year old man who has been roleplaying since he was 13 years old. I have gone through all the phases of Roleplay that I believe one can. I've written one liners. I've written what you would call semi-para, and single paragraph roleplay. I've also written novels, both by myself, and with other people. I've been writing, and roleplaying, for a very long time. The only thing I've never done, too much, is fandoms. I'm not sure why, but... with a world of endless possibilities, and a nearly limitless imagination, I've asked myself the question, "For what reason would I ever do something that wasn't original?" Now, I'm not knocking fandoms, I understand that a lot of joy can be derived from them.
I just haven't found myself enjoying them too deeply. Those aren't my characters. I'll always feel uncomfortable making decisions for Harry Potter, or Severus Snape. They don't belong to me. I feel less inclined in that direction when it comes to super heroes, as they have countless incarnations, in countless universes; countless different story tellers. Even in a super hero story, I would prefer my own, original, character, and I would prefer that the person I'm writing with did as well. Same with Star Wars, or any other fandom that I might play. I also prefer that we do our own plots, even if it's all just improvised, with very little direction. I don't mind writing one or two paragraph responses, but, I do require that someone meets me there.
I will not slave, and toil, looking up nice, flowery words, and pounding away at the keyboard, feverishly, only to be handed mindless rubbish that took no thought, and very little effort. At the same time, I'm a very kind, constructive, and helpful partner. If you require any advice, or would like me to just keep my mouth shut, as far as your writing goes, that is completely up to you. I will let you know if I'm no longer interested in a story. I will let you know if the story is beginning to bore me, and if I feel we should stop, or change something. I will be polite about it, and I expect the same in return, even if we don't agree, or find ourselves at odds with one another.
I would prefer it didn't go that way, though, of course. I would prefer to be friendly, and stay friendly, with everyone I meet. If you ghost me, or don't want to RP anymore, at least do me the service of letting me know that you're not interested. I have learned to give up on people pretty quickly, though, so, if I seem surprised that you're messaging me, or don't answer back, don't be surprised, if you take a leave of absence, without letting me know.
TL; DR
Hi! I'm friendly, and have high expectations of myself. I have relatively high expectations of a writing partner. If you're not interested in putting in effort, don't bother with me. If you're going to ghost me, I'd really rather not put in the effort, unless you're willing to let me know.
Plots & Characters
90% or more of the time, I create a new character for a new story. If I don't, it's because I already have a bunch of characters that would fit the bill, and I want to play one, or more, of them.
Western (Action/Adventure/City Building)
I'd like to make a Western style town, and populate it with characters that we made. That sounds fun to me. Does it sound fun to you?
Plague World (This is a d20 Modern plot that I've always wanted to run...) (Action/Adventure/Post-Apocalyptic/Restart Society)
After an alien invasion, a group of skilled survivors wakes up to a futuristic, but biologically changed, Earth. They must jump start society, in this genetically engineered post-apocalypse.
Old Vampire x Young Vampire (Adventure/Drama/Supernatural)
I'd like to run the story of an old vampire turning a young vampire, and the struggles that they have; with immortality, and each other. Romance does not need to be involved.
Other Plots...
What I prefer, when it comes to plots, and story ideas, is that we collaborate together. Find where we mesh, and decide on a story, and characters, that fit both of our styles, and preferences. That way we don't fit the right pieces (characters) into the wrong puzzle (story). I'm very open to ideas that you're craving. I'm open to both of us having multiple characters, or even a tapestry of characters. I'm open to the plot changing very quickly, or terrible things happening. I'm open to almost everything, as long as it doesn't get too fetishist, or weird. As a side note, I'd prefer not to do deep romantic stories until I get to know my partner well enough that it flows naturally, and doesn't feel forced.
If you meet the above criteria, and you like what you read, I hope you'll consider me as a potential partner.
Sincerely,
Mr. Catwell
