PRINCESS ANASTASIA VICTORIA KANE
Interacting With: Michael Walliver Walliver Rose Sanctuaryforall1 Sanctuaryforall1 (Beauford Mentioned) Wolfiee Wolfiee

Anastasia had never been one for morning tea with her mother, so her absence was no surprise to anyone in the castle this morning. Sometimes she felt as if she were an adventurer hopelessly trapped in the body of a princess. Be that as it may, it had never stopped her from attempting to chase as many of her dreams as she could while stuck inside the castle walls. Thankfully, the princess had found several places within the castle walls that allowed her to chase what little freedom she had, one of which she was heading towards now. Anastasia had risen early that morning, before anyone could do her hair or reprimand her for not wearing any shoes. Shoes were the last thing on her mind as she ran towards the stables, the fabric of her dress bunched in her hands as she strode barefooted, with a mischievous smile painted on her lips. It was only when she saw the familiar face of her favorite stableboy that she slowed to a halt, nearly out of breath. “Morning, Michael!” she beamed, already making her way into the stables. She knew it was customary to let the stableboy prepare her horse, but she didn’t particularly feel like using a saddle today.

It was no secret that Anastasia’s horse, Shadow, was one of her most prized possessions. She frequently visited the stables just to keep him company. The stunning black stallion had been a gift from her father, and to this day she was still inseparable from him. As she approached his stall, she was happy to see that he had been brushed, hopefully this ride wouldn’t ruin her dress, or she’d have hell to pay. Regardless, she pulled open the door to his stall and ran her fingers through his dark mane before pulling herself up onto his back. There was something about being on the back of a horse that made her feel like she could fly. She inched the stallion forward, passing by Michael one more time and leaning down so that he could hear her whisper, “If my mother comes by… you never saw me.” She winked playfully, before softly kicking Shadows side. The stallion took off into the open fields that surrounded the castle, a top his back, a barefooted princess without a care in the world. She threw her arms back, trusting Shadow completely as the wind whipped through her hair. If she closed her eyes, it really felt like she was flying, thousands of miles away from the castle she had grown up in. Far away from any cares or responsibilities, as free as a bird.

She could’ve been out there for hours, but it felt as though it had only been a few minutes before a painfully familiar, shrill voice called out her name. “Anastasia Victoria Kane, what in God’s name do you think you’re doing?!” The queen yelled for her and Shadow slowed to a stop. Anastasia flinched as her blue eyes rose to meet their equals, her mother glared at her ordering her to get off the horse without even uttering a word. Ana slowly slid off of shadow who was immediately taken back to the stables by a waiting guard before she could even say goodbye. “Mother… I was just having some fun, I didn’t…” she was cut off by her mother’s harsh words “Not another syllable. There is a ball tonight and you are out here in bare feet! You will go back to your room and get ready, NOW.” Anastasia looked down at her feet, desperately trying not to roll her eyes at her mother as she began walking back towards the castle. “And make sure Vera does your hair for the ball!” her mother called after her. At the mention of her lady in waiting, Ana perked up. Vera was one of her dearest friends, perhaps the ball wouldn’t be so bad if Vera was with her. But before she went back to her room… her stomach grumbled. Perhaps she would make a stop at the kitchens, after all… she had missed breakfast.

The young princess raced through the castle, causing a commotion everywhere she went as she greeted servants and nobility alike. They all knew her and were used to her wild antics, but she still received strange looks at her bare feet. She knew she was not supposed to be in the kitchens, but that had never stopped her before and it didn’t stop her from creeping through one of the servant’s passageways to enter. Many people were bustling around, doing their chores and working tirelessly to prepare food for the ball tonight. But Ana was looking for one servant in particular, one whom she’d come to be familiar with, her blonde hair catching Ana’s eye as the princess neared her. “Pssst – Rose!” She whispered playfully, right as Rose turned around Ana swiped a pink colored tarte from the plate the servant was holding and giggled as she bit into it. “Mmmm – Strawberries” she licked her lips. She erupted into laughter at Rose’s surprised stare, and then slowly realized that Rose was not staring back at Ana, but at something behind her. The princess cocked an eyebrow before turning around and nearly smacking into her older brother.

PRINCE TERITHEON AGNAR KANE
Interacting With: Beauford Wolfiee Wolfiee Rose (Vera mentioned) Sanctuaryforall1 Sanctuaryforall1 Lilliana Wolfiee Wolfiee

Teritheon, much like his little sister, had not been in attendance at breakfast this morning. He had spent the early hours discussing politics with his bed ridden father. And as such, he was ravenous with hunger. He too had gotten the idea to simply make his way to the kitchens and try to find something to eat, however, Teritheon was accompanied by his lifelong best friend, Beauford, who had become the crown prince’s partner in crime. Theon had not been expecting to see his sister in the kitchens but admittedly, he wasn’t surprised when she almost walked straight into him. Theon’s hands reached out to steady the younger girl before his eyes trailed down to her bare feet. He cocked an eyebrow at her but didn’t bother to ask. “Ah yes, Mother said you weren’t at breakfast. You’re supposed to be in your room getting ready for the ball.” He sighed with a disapproving look. He was sure she had already been told this, but his sister rarely listened to any order she was given. “Vera is probably worried sick about you.” He rolled his eyes at his little sister.

Anastasia was not technically his responsibility, but she was his little sister, and a princess at that, her actions reflected on the royal family so in a way, he was responsible for her. As he stared at his sister, he realized she was holding one of the strawberry tarts that he had initially come looking for. His eyes wandered to the woman standing behind Anastasia, a blonde servant whom he had seen around the palace quite a few times. His stare lingered on her delicate features, her surprised expression. Guilt immediately washed over him; his sister could’ve gotten this poor servant in trouble. Suddenly Teritheon’s gaze softened "I apologize for my sisters behavior... please, take the night off, by order of the Prince." He winked as he leaned forward and plucked a tarte from the plate Rose was holding, smiling softly before turning back to his sister. “Come on – let’s get you back to your room.” He led the way out of the kitchens and back to the main hall of the castle.

Almost immediately, he was approached by a steward who seemed out of breath as though he had been running. The man caught his breath in time to speak a hurried announcement. “Your highness, your betrothed has arrived, Princess Lillianna is waiting in the courtyard.” Teritheon stiffened, but uttered a quick thanks to the steward. He had been betrothed to Lilliana since they were both children, their parents having agreed on the engagement to strengthen the alliance between their two kingdoms. Despite having been engaged from such a young age, Theon had never actually met Lilliana. He tried to keep his composure despite the faintest of red rising to his cheeks as he straightened his suit. He had been intending to walk his sister back to her room, but upon hearing this news, he realized he had more pressing matters to attend to. “Beauford, do me a favor and take Ana back to her room for me?” His sister immediately huffed at the notion, folding her arms in front of her chest. “I’m not a child, Theon.” The prince lowered his voice as he looked back at his sister, “Then stop acting like one.” He exchanged a look with Beauford, trying to communicate his thanks in advanced before turning and heading in the opposite direction.

Theon made his way through the palace, his chin held high as he was greeted by several nobles. Try as he might, he had never gotten used to the bows he received from everyone. When he finally made it to the courtyard his heart was pounding in his chest. What if Lilliana was nothing like what he had imagined her? What if they hated each other? What if they had absolutely no interest in each other? As he stood waiting for the door of her carriage to open, he forced himself to swallow all of these fears and bury them. The carriage door felt like it was opening in slow motion as a beautiful, dark haired women stepped out with piercing blue eyes. Theon kept his shoulders back, trying to keep his emotions in check as she princess made her way forward, surrounded by servants and a lady in waiting. He too made his way towards his betrothed, hyperaware that his mother was watching the exchange. His mother desperately wanting everything to be perfect. When the prince finally approached Lilliana, he found himself bowing, before reaching for her hand and gently placing his lips against her knuckles. “It’s an honor to meet you, Lilliana.” He smiled softly, his grey eyes taking in her every feature and trying to commit it to memory.

LADY DALIA YASIN

It had been a long journey to the foreign kingdom. The dark-haired lady-in-waiting had never been so far from home. She had been all over her home kingdom and had interacted with plenty of foreign ambassadors and nobility but had yet to set foot in another kingdom. While she had not heard many bad things about the Kingdom of Valeria, there were so many unanswered questions and things to learn about her potential new home. It was both thrilling and a bit unnerving to the young woman.

In front of Dalia sat her lady, Princess Lilliana Ivory Dauphina, who she had kept company during the long trip there. Wherever her lady was, the brunette was never too far behind. Over the years, she had become quite dedicated and very close to the princess. Had she not been brought to court and appointed as a lady-in-waiting to Princess Lilliana, she might have met a very different fate under the thumb of her deranged mother. In other words, she was quite grateful to have the opportunity to not only serve her princess but to be considered her friend too.

Dalia almost immediately sat up straight when the carriage rolled to a stop. "Thank goodness. We are finally here." she murmured, pulling back the current on the carriage to take a brief peek outside. She then turned back to Lilliana and studied the other girl. The lady had always found Lilliana to be unearthly beautiful with her long black hair and striking blue eyes. She could easily ensnare any soul with an appearance like that.

Before the princess stepped out of her carriage to meet her betrothed, Dalia quickly leaned forward and grasped her hands in her own. "If something goes wrong here, I will protect you, Lily. Alliances are not always made through marriage. I will find another way if you ever wish for me to do so." At that, she let Lilliana's hands go. Alliances could always shift. The betrothal between her princess and the foreign prince was not necessarily guaranteed.

Once her lady safely out of the carriage and had gotten a few steps ahead, the blue-eyed lady-in-waiting stepped out of the carriage and into a new chapter.

The sun was bright against her eyes, causing her to briefly reach up and shield it from her gaze. After taking a moment to take in her new environment, she followed a few feet behind Lilliana to where Prince Teritheon stood. She eyed the prince curiously from where she stood.

ELIAS CARDOSO

The castle and the grounds had been buzzing with gossip since word came that the prince's fiancé would be arriving on this very date. All of the palace servants had been busy with preparations for this event. While quite a few royals had come and gone in the past, this one was by far the most interesting. After all, if things went according to plan, the Princess Lilliana would be the next queen of Valeria.

While the dark-haired man could admit to being a little curious about the arriving royalty, he had not wasted his time indulging in silly gossip with the servants or other guards that morning. Instead, he had spent the first few hours of light exercising and training by himself. The guard never slept very soundly due to the haunting dreams of his past, so it was not atypical for him to be starting his day so early.

Elias had been standing guard near the front entrance door when the foreign princess arrived. The carriages the princess had brought were unsurprisingly grand-looking. Even from a distance, he could tell that the two elegantly-dressed, young women who had stepped out of the carriage were beautiful as their carriages were. It was a bit of a surprise to the sun-kissed man. High status did not always guarantee beauty and when it did, well, sometimes it created monsters on the inside. Elias was curious who these two ladies would prove to be in the end.

Despite his mild curiosities, the brunet was nearly motionless and his facial expressions remained unreadable to the untrained eye.

Michael, currently, was not having a good time. With all the preparations being made for guests and incoming nobles, he rarely got to see his friends. Grooming the nobles’ horses, making sure everything was tidy. He missed having everyone around. He missed Anastasia, and Rose, and Adam, and-

Well, speak of the devil. Michael thought to himself, seeing Anastasia. “And good morning to you as well, Princess.” he bowed, letting the smile come back to his face. He had groomed Shadow the night before, knowing how Anastasia loved the horse. A beautiful horse for a beautiful girl. Michael smiled wider.

Don’t worry. As far as I know, you were never here.” he bowed once again, watching her go off. And seeing her mother catch her. He quickly turned his back, not wanting to catch the queen’s gaze. Most of the royals scared him to death, the others annoyed him to no end. Like Teritheon. He hated that Anastasia had to deal with him. Something about the prince had always rubbed him the wrong way.

He heard the carriages approaching. “First guests of the day, I presume.” he spoke, knowing they couldn’t hear him. Or didn’t want to.

Princess Lilliana

Lilliana had been fidgeting slightly in her seat most of the ride thankful for Dalia’s company or she might have leapt out of the carriage at one point. They had been traveling for a while now and sitting still bothered the raven haired princess. She was use to moving about constantly with dancing, sword fighting, or riding upon her beloved horse Lupin so a long still carriage ride had her anxious to get out. Once they arrived the relieved voice of Dalia made her smile warmly.”Yes I’m glad we’ve arrived I swear Dalia I was about to leap out taking you with me.”she joked softy to her friend and lady in waiting. Her gaze flicked to her once more hearing Dalia say she would stand with her no matter what happen with this alliance. “Thank you Dalia I don’t know what I would do without you.”she said giving her friends hand a gentle squeeze before they both straightened up exiting the carriage.

Her bright sharp blue gaze flicked around taking in their surrounding before her gaze landed upon the welcoming party. A few guards and servants seemed to be there their attire making them stand out against the royals. A slightly older woman stood watching looking expectant yet nervous it must be the Queen she gave a warm smile towards her before the sound of approaching foot falls drew her attention. A man around her age with warm brown hair as the light hit it she saw flecks of blonde within the brown locks. He was tall and despite the attire he wore she could tell muscle hid underneath. She had been fearing for awhile now about this what if her betrothed had been completely unappealing to the eye, what if they didn’t get along, what if he was already in love with someone else. Those thoughts had swirled continuously the last year however this man was very handsome though that still didn’t qualm her other fears just yet. His deep voice reached her ears as he bowed taking her hand gently into his place a soft kiss upon her knuckles.

A soft blush tinted her cheeks before she gave him a soft curtesy. “It’s an honor to meet you as well Prince Teritheon.”she said warmly to him before whispering quietly so only his ears heard. “I’m curious to see if you are as nervous as I am.”she said very faintly as her gaze flicked back towards the welcoming party and the Queen who seemed to be observing them like a hawk. She had no problem with saying she was nervous who wouldn’t be in this situation. It made no difference that they had been raised differently then most they were still human with human emotions. They were allowed to feel fear, nerves, and excitement even if they weren’t always allowed to show it. So at least she hoped that her betrothed an her would at least be able to confide in one another about things only they knew about their way of life.

Lord Beauford

Beauford had been joking and talking with Theon well Prince Teritheon. The two of them having been friends since childhood it was often hard for him to keep up appearances of kingly respect for his friend. They had been heading towards the kitchen wanting to grab a bite to eat before everyone started to arrive taking up their attention. However as they were heading towards the kitchen a short brunette smacked right into Theon it only took seconds to recognize the face as Princess Anastasia. A smirk graced his lips it seemed she had the same idea as them since she held within her hand a pink tart in her hand. His gaze flicked to Rose who seemed a bit surprised by the sudden Royal and noble intrusion upon her. He winked at her as Theon stole a tart as well before hearing his friends request. “Of course I’ll make sure the Princess makes it to her room in one piece.”he said with a chuckle.

He watched as he friend straightened up and went to meet his betrothed. “Hope she’s as beautiful as they say!”he called after his friend with a mischievous grin. Then he turned back towards Anastasia and Rose giving them a dramatic bow. “If you’ll excuse us Rose I must get Ana back to her room before her royal family has a royal fit.”he snickered at his own joke a bit. It was common knowledge he didn’t get along with the Queen oh they were civil but that was about it. The Queen thought he was a bad influence on her children and though she wasn’t completely wrong about that. Beau was also good for them Theon needed friends and some interactions that weren’t all stiff and formal. He straightened up then offered his arm to Anastasia.”Come on we better hurry so we can all get ready for the ball. It won’t do well if we don’t look the part.”he said sounding a bit serious for once. Beauford was almost always playful and charming yet he also understood the roles they all needed to fill. He himself was a noble his status was influential and could cause problems for his friend or his family if he didn’t do his duties every now and then.

Once they walked off he relaxed a bit still keeping Ana’s arm within his as they headed towards her room.”I do hope that your brother and sister will be alright. It can’t be easy having been promised to another since they were children. I also feel bad for the other princess and prince as well. This is a nice kingdom however they had to leave their homes to be here that can’t be easy for them.”he said confiding his thoughts onto Anastasia. His gaze flicked to meet hers as they approached her room. “On a lighter note do I get a preview of the dress?”he asked with a purr clearly joking but the flirtatious tone was real.

This morning has been more chaotic than the royal family prefers. First of all, two of the four children were not present at breakfast, much to their mother's chagrin. It didn't help that Emmeline, after experimenting with some new art techniques, had attended with paint splashed on her gown. Of course, she wasn't aware of that at the time, but it somehow made the situation all the worse. As if Emmeline would willingly go anywhere without being neat! So, instead of using the break in her day to paint, read, or do anything else she may enjoy, she must find a new dress.

The dress must be absolutely perfect, as it is what she will meet her future husband in. What if he calls the betrothal off due to her appearance? The eldest princess simply couldn't live with that level of embarrassment, assuming she would even survive her mother's wrath in the first place. Squeezing into her new gown, a simple yet elegant piece fit for meeting a prince, she can't muster up the courage to say a word to her handmaiden. How could she?

Emmeline rarely experiences such fleeting things as happiness or friendship, unlike her siblings. Lady Odette is one of the few that she genuinely would consider a friend and even so, how can she be sure that the woman is really her friend? The younger girl was hired to be her companion, so how would one discern a meaningful connection from one tainted with gold? Even if the two are truly friends, that will all be over soon, as Emma will have to transform into a different person for her future husband. She will become whoever he wants her to me, just as her mother did for her father and her sister will do soon enough.

"Come then, before my mother beheads us both,"
she finally speaks as her new shoes are put on, referring to the queen's sour mood. However, a quick peak out the window lets her know that soon the mood will become even worse. They're here.

They're here and she isn't outside, awaiting them. How rude!
"We are in so much trouble. I'll have to run"
She mentions to her friend, picking up her skirt and taking off in a sprint down the hall. Sure, she bumps into a few servants, but she'll be in less trouble for that then "tainting their reputation" as the queen would say. The second she makes it to the front door she slows down and smooths her skirt.

Taking a step outside, she is met with many familiar faces, save for a few in front of her brother. She stands nearby him, clutching her own hand in a small display of fear, noting that the two youngest Kanes were still not present.

Guillaume de Clermont

The longsword looked weightless in the Knight’s hands, nimbly breaking the squire’s guarded posture with an easy hew. Clermont pushed the boy back on strike after strike, letting the dull training blade slam into the trainee’s padded sides. “Dead, again. You need to put up more of a defensive, Joseph.” His student only let out a pained groan, rolling in the dusty mud of the ring with a healthy dose of theatrics. “War is not all about the charge, pup. You must equally acknowledge when to take the back foot.”

Guille dragged the young man to his feet by the gambeson scruff, “Dust yourself off, grab something to eat. Rest of the day you got to yourselves and the ball.” At that mention, Joseph perked up suspiciously quickly.
“‘Course sir, right away sir. Good as gold sir.”
“Anymore sir from you and I’ll send you packing with the tip of my boot, get a move on. And remember for tomorrow! Defensive manoeuvres, I want to see you practicing.” Yet the afterthought of study fell on deaf ears as the lad returned his weapon to the rack with a hurried clank and ran in the direction of freedom.

Clermont tugged on the fingers of his gauntlet, pulling away the plated glove to run a hand through his hair and pat at the building perspiration of his forehead. Resting his arm on the hilt of the blade, the Knight gazed up into the sky with a squint, grinning to himself. Squires could make you cry in frustration, however, you had to admire their youthful spirit. Once, very long ago, as Guillaume liked to exaggerate - it had been him running at full pelt to escape morning sparring. What they don’t tell you is that feeling never quite goes away.

Packing up the equipment for the next session, he headed in the direction of the barrack’s baths. Wandering through the palace’s outer courtyards, all final preparations had sent the servants quarters into a tizzy. Where the kitchen was often a pleasant nest of activity, someone had shaken the hive. Overwhelmed by all scents of sweets and savouries in concoction of the head cooks' tireless creation, scullery maids made themselves scarce if they could be found within shouting distance.

Keeping to himself as the hum of work swelled in crescendo, the bear of a man focused on the task at hand. Ducking into the Knight’s living quarters for his daywear and retreating off to a long soak. A long soak that became interrupted by every other landed soldier thinking the same thing.

Nevertheless, he tugged a soft cotton tunic overhead which stuck slightly to his damp skin, draping nicely across the shoulders before a new pair of deerskin britches and calf-length boots. Opting for a cleaner gambeson jacket which, for the intent of keeping cool, he left unbuckled, Clermont affixed his sword to the left of his hip. Now was time to watch the circus unfold. Nobles flocking in through the gates to prepare themselves for the night, their poor porters lugging expensive cases of luxury fabrics like bow-kneed beggars.

Sir Clermont was in time to see some of the royals out and about, keeping his distance by the maids and valets. Distraction longed to tear his gaze away from its natural curiosity of seeing the newest figures at court, via one of the staff prodding his shoulder.

“You, you look strong enough, help me take this up to the Lady Belliveau’s chambers.”
“I’m not-”
The handmaid thrust the heavy case into his arms and piled onto it, causing a dour glare from the Knight but no arguments.
“Follow me!” She remarked in an all spritely, lilted manner, "Can't leave her waiting."
"I can." Clermont muttered.

Adam was finally release for his break and starts walking after Clermont as he saw him walk by. He walks quietly as he normally dose almost as a Phantom as that was his nickname. He gets glances from the servants as he walks by them. He eventually gets right behind him. “So, when where you going to tell me you were back?” In his quiet voice.

Lady Odette
Where is your home, vagabond?
Hooves pounded against the dense earth as a young girl of only 21 years, rode through the trees at the edge of the palace ground. She had stepped away from her Princess just for a moment for this ride and for her sanity's sake. Her dark tresses matched her stallion perfectly, black as the night sky, as her mother used to say. The stallion below her snorted and she patted his neck. Shifting her weight on his bareback, she lightly tapped his left side with her heel, telling him to turn about as it was time to head back. She wrapped her fingers in his mane as they galloped back to the castle to get ready to set up for the ball tonight. She was terrified for Emmeline. Her Princess had gotten so mature, and it seemed it was time for her to be wed off. Odie was scared of losing her only friend at the castle. Would Odie go with her royal highness or would she be without work? Shaking the tears out of her eyes, she focused on the stables as it came into view.

Odette not-so-gracefully dismounted from her horse, haltered him, and led him to his stall for a once over groom before she went into the palace. As she led her horse, she passed the stable boy and gave him a curt nod but kept to herself. Head held high, she was not one to let a man look down upon her riding abilities. It was deemed unladylike to ride like a man, in trousers, and bareback nonetheless. Once in the stall, she untucked her skirt from the dingy, torn trousers, and slid them off her legs. She put her good slippers on and tidied up her locks the best she could before turning to her companion.

Odette grew up on a farm, tending to chickens and learning manners from her mother who was practicing to become a lady-in-waiting. She learned everything she knew from her mother. Born into a lower-ish class, she was neither poor nor middle class. Odie was just, floating somewhere in-between. She was gifted a dark black foal when she was 10 years of age and aptly named him Black Knight (Knightie). He went everywhere with her, even when she became the lady-in-waiting for Princess Emmeline, she made sure he could have a stall in the stables.

Snapping back to reality, she gave her beloved Knightie a kiss on his velvet nose as she past him and out of the stables. She decided it would be better to use the servants entrance and go through the kitchen than the main doors. Odie ran through the halls hoping not to bump into anyone but then ran directly into Clermont and Adam. She slammed, full force into the older Knights chest and fell backwards onto the ground. Looking up at the two men, flustered, blush began to appear on her cheeks. She stood, nibbling on the inside of her lower lip. Her breath hitched in her chest as she dropped her eyes to the floor and ran a shaking hand through her dark waves. "My apologies, Ser." she managed to choke out at last.

Parry. Strike. Block. Zelena moves through the motions like a well oiled machine, what once was a scared little girl now a fierce warrior. She anticipates each of her partner's moves, though she allows him to do the same. Her opposition, once recognized as her father would get offended the second she overtakes him. So, as she always does, she limits herself. Waiting for the proper moment. In a true battle, she would antagonize him. Use everything the lord thinks against him until he's broken. Make them angry until they lash out. Humans are flawed. They are all idiots who have too much to lose. She is not like them, like him. She's been trained to not be.

"Shite"
The machine mumbles, suddenly feeling infinitely smaller as she accidentally cuts a piece of the curtain with her sword. As Zelena is unable to show her true self outside, she is sparring with her father in her chambers. This must be fixed. She can't leave the castle after this whole thing is over and have them believe that she is an unruly guest. That would ruin her reputation. A scolding look from her mentor has her assuming her typical posture, with shoulders back and an intense look in her eyes.
"I'll fix this. Thank you father for the session"
She gives the man a solemn nod as he leaves, shutting the door behind him. She changes quickly, switching from her typical ensemble to a "lovely" dark blue gown.

Zelena fixes her unruly hair, tying it into a braid behind her. Perfect. The woman morphs into the typical spoiled lady she grew up with, who she could have been. God, she can't stand that girl. Either way, it is time.

The grand Lady Zelena runs out into the hall, her dress billowing behind her.
"How rude!"
She screeches, allowing any nearby to hear.
"There is a tear in my curtains. Who was in my chambers?"
Adding a whiny tone to her voice, the woman whips her head around for any who would be interested. Time to pin the blame.

Guillaume de Clermont

Palming off the heavy luggage onto some poor, overworked porter, Clermont turned about to see Adam. He’d had a hand in training the younger knight some years ago, prior to his campaign abroad. The big man flashed a wide grin, grabbing Sir Storm by the shoulder and holding the junior at arm's length. “Let’s have a look at you, pup.” He chuckled, eventually releasing his old student with a clap on the back.

“Ahh, I’ve been busy. Must’ve missed you in the barracks, always were a quiet one - might start saying it’s witchcraft how you don’t clank around like the rest of us, but to the point! Soon as I got off the boat they put me to work, call it the audacity of the top brass.” He paused, glancing from under his brow, “And I suppose all is well behind the lines? You and I’ll have to catch up over drinks with the rest of the lads, been too long.” Guille declared, adopting a relaxed gait with a shift onto his back foot.

Between reminiscing what felt like ancient history and romanticised fact, Clermont’s hadn’t the time nor perception to dodge an unexpected, hurtling figure. Stumbling a couple of paces back from sheer force, the last thing he expected to be staring at was the slim, upturned features of a woman sprawled out now at his feet - a Lady at that. It wasn’t every day you had the nobility trying to sweep themselves under you.

“No apology required, are you hurt? Birds have broken their wings for less.” Clermont offered one of his rough, calloused palms as truce. “My lady? If you’d like I could accompany you to where you’re headed, save on any further tumbles.” The Knight quipped with an easy smile, looking the girl over. “Say, haven’t I seen you around? One of the princesses’ girls?”

His time around the eldest prince paid off, although much of it spent training, one could catch a glimpse into the lives of the royal family beyond official ceremony. That and once you’d lived in the palace long enough, you soon became accustomed to regular faces. Clermont had few memories of his family estate, age seven he was sent away and on occasion, had returned to organise family affairs at the behest of his father. Between that and travel, war left no time to call anywhere else home.

"Forgive me, I've forgotten my manners - I'm Sir Clermont, this is Sir Storm."

Palme Edgar Maine
Edgar sighed his thoughts roaming about the air around him. He took careful calculated steps to the kitchen's back entry.
He looked at the space before him like a fight. There were many options he could take, but only one of them could prove victorious.
He had to choose carefully. As he made his way closer and closer to the kitchen he paused briefly listening. There seemed to be quite a ruckus.
What was today? Why did he have a feeling that he was missing something? Something important. He huffed and kicked his boot at the floor.
He would have to ask later. Right now he needed food. Still lost in thought, yet fully aware of his surroundings, he inched forward.
Making his way through the small back entry to the kitchen. He stepped into the kitchen and took a breath of humid stale air.
Scents of spices, baking bread, and other foods filled the air. Covering his thoughts in tasty fantasies of food. He smiled and exhaled.

He walked through the kitchen weaving his way through staff and shelves. Making sure not to bump into anything or anyone.
Maine had his mind on one thing food. He walked carefully to the pantry and looked around at the supply. Maybe he would just take some bread.
After all he wasn't exactly supposed to be eating right now. So he took a small bread roll and held it in his hand.
He lifted it to his nose and inhaled it's heavenly scent. If heaven was a scent that is; it would be this bread. The baker was the best he'd ever known.
He had a gift. Maine took a small bite of the bread; making sure to savor it's taste. He sighed and placed the piece of bread in his pocket.
He turned making his way back out of the kitchen. Instead deciding to go through the castle this time. Exiting through the front entryway.
His steps were still calculated and careful. He was still in a fight with nothing.

Cal was excited enough to be attending the ball. He wanted to make good impressions to everyone in the kingdom so hopefully everything went well. Upon arriving in a carriage he arrived at the royal palace. He was hoping to meet with Princess Emmeline. He had hoped to meet her and had been feeling nervous about getting married to someone he didn't know all too well.

It wasn't that didn't want to get married, he just wanted to atleast get to know the person well before it happened. Things weren't so great in his country so ofcourse it wasn't like there wasn't a reason for the marriage. He wanted to see if anyone would know where he was supposed to go. The carriage driver didn't seem to be the most talkable man so he just ended up respectfully taking his leave once he arrived.

Cassandra dreaded going to a ball. Why should she? She wasn't really a fan of high society. That was always something Aster was more fond of anyways. And since he was dead it wasn't like Cassandra has as much reason to stay conversing with nobles as he did.

She also didn't feel like having to pick out dresses. She decided on a black one since she really didn't want people bothering her too much. That ofcourse had it's own internal meaning..
She could barely sleep these days and her eyes suffered all the same. Sometimes she could swear she could hear Aster still and it hurt all the much more.

Nobody seemed to really bother her too much lately. Her own room in the castle was quiet and she didn't venture too much out from there. Although atleast someone was kind enough to keep bringing her food, whoever it was. She couldn't tell but plates would be brought and taken away from outside her door.

Still the noise was what bothered her. She could hear the noises of some women screaming about something. Someone was complaining about something and upon wandering further in the halls she could peer around a corning and saw a dark haired women complaining about someone being in her room. It was trouble. So she quickly left before she could notice Cassandra.

It had taken all morning but finally, Vera had a proper layout of the events for the ball that would be occurring in just a few hours. It was hard for her to get time away from her beloved princess but part of her duties as the young girl's personal guard was to be made away for any and all potential threats or dangers Anastasia might face at any given time, and that included during balls. Luckily Ana had wanted nothing more this morning than to spite her mother and go out for a ride rather than attend tea time. It gave Vera the perfect excuse to go about her secret guard duties in the guise of a lady in waiting flawlessly as she told her princess she would do her best to keep the queen distracted so she could go for her ride. She had done some good on her promise and had spent as much time as she could distracting the queen with questions about which guests should be expected, what the events would be, and so on, each question a legitimate concern for security reasons while also a great way to keep the queens focus off of her daughter for a time.

Eventually, though not even Vera's best could keep the queen distracted any longer and Vera found herself dismissed from her royal Majesties presence. In the time since then, the lady in waiting/secret guard had returned to her true duties as she examined the list of all who would be in attendance that evening. She went about the castle gathering supplies that Anastasia would need in order to get ready for the ball including a soft brush for her hair, the finishing touches on her dress, and a few sweets for the princess to enjoy while getting ready. Everything was smooth sailing as the dark-haired lady prepared for her princess to arrive, it was an easy job for Vera to enjoy since Ana was not only her princess but also one of her very best friends. She loved helping the young girl get ready for balls and special events because it meant she could make them as tolerable as possible for the young girl. For example, she always did Ana's hair so that the queen wouldn't send someone else to do it in a way that would cause Ana discomfort, and once the evening's festivities began she would be there to keep Ana company as best she could.

Along with getting the physical supplies ready for the evening Vera had also mentally prepared. She had walked the corridors that would be open to the public and checked them for possible dangers that someone might have stored ahead of time. She had also checked that every evacuation route was open and efficient just in case a fire or a siege were to occur. Some might think Vera to be paranoid or over protective but Vera preferred to be ready. In her mind it was only paranoia if she was wrong and like every time before now she prayed she was.

Sitting on a golden leaf chair that she often claimed as her own when Ana and her were occupied in Ana's chambers the young beauty picked up a nearby book. It was one that she had been reading to Ana several days earlier as they were forced through hours of fittings for the princesses dress. As Vera flicked her way through the book she smiled slightly as she thanked the heavens that she had learned how to read during her combat training because without literature she wasn't sure what she would do during the long boring hours she and Ana spent locked away each day.

Ronan

With skin covered in grime and sweat from working away in the forge all day Ronan stuck out like a sore thumb against the rest of the mostly squeaky clean staff. He didn't normally wander the halls of the palace like this but his job did require him to venture further than his forge from time to time in order to make repairs around the palace. Today he had been returning a newly sharpened sword to the eldest princes chambers while the young man was off attending to his duties. Ronan had been given special permission to enter the chambers in order to drop the sword off and he had to admit that the blade was one of his finest works and he was happy to resharpen it whenever the prince desired. The smith took it as high praise that the sword had already required a touch up because it meant that Prince Teritheon had been using it often for his swordsman lessons or what ever it was the princes did with their swords, Ronan wasn't too sure. What he was sure of was that the blades he crafted didn't dull easily so one had to be used quite often for it to need to be resharpened so soon. This blade had been a present to the prince on his last birthday and Ronan had spent long hours crafting each and every part of it from the deadly blade to the ornaite hilt, it was one of his finest works.

As the hulking man made his way through the halls he politely nodded to servants who passed and bowed his head to any nobles, not that they paid him any mind (though a few ladies did pay close attention when he walked by). He was almost out of the hall of bed chambers when he heard a door slam open and the voice of a woman shrieking. Instantly he feared the worst and turned ready to aid her if she were being attacked or had been injured. He might not be armed at the moment but with his size, skills, and past Ronan was certainly a force to be reckoned with. When his eyes settled on the dark haired Lady of the Court who he had believed to be in distress he realized that she was quite unharmed. Instead she looked alarmed and furious as she whined about her chambers being invaded by some unknown being who tore her curtains. Moving towards her while also keeping a respectful distance the palace blacksmith seemed to be the only one who cared about her distress. "Milady," He greeted respectfully. "Are you alright? Have you yourself been damaged in any way?" He asked trying to double check that she was not harmed.

It had been a very long and very busy morning from the moment Rose opened her eyes and began preparing herself for the day in the servents quarters. With such a big night to prepare for all of the staff was forced to rise early and get straight to work. Already she had helped polish the fine china, dust the suits of armor in the great hall, beaten the finely embroidered rugs, and scrubbed the marble steps...twice. Most other servants were already complaining about their hands and feet hurting from all the extra work and preparation but Rose just continued along completely unbothered and always ready for her next task. To her joy she was sent down to the kitchens in order to help the cooks prepare for the banquet that would be served at the ball. The head chef was eager to have Rose prepare her famous Strawberry tarts that the royals seemed to love so much and so with flour caked hands and a bit accidentally powdered onto her hair and face she got to work making them.

Just as they were finished cooling and topped with the sweet pink icing glaze she had mastered a commotion began to arise in the kitchens. Having the pastieries plated and holding them carefully in her hands Rose began to make her way towards the kitchen doors when she heard her name called behind her. Turning around, the flour in her hair puffing out slightly as it flew off her braids, the young blonde saw no one looking for her but felt quick hands swipe at the platter she was holding. Turning back around quick as a flash of lighting the servant girl smiled and laughted as her jade eyes settled on the youngest princess shoving one of the tarts into her mouth. She heard the young woman moan her approval which only caused Rose to laugh harder. "Ana you little thief." She joked as she looked at the powdered sugar and icing around the princesses mouth.

Her gaze quickly fell away from the princess when another figure appeared behind the royal and Rose couldn't help the look of surprise that flickered across her face. It wasn't often that the eldest prince would be found in the kitchen, or at least not when Rose was there from what she could remember. Of course she had seen him many times before around the palace, she had even brought him platters of food when he was busy with his studies or training and couldn't attend dinner, not that she believed he would recognize her. Her gaze drifted over his handsome features and she could certainly understand why so many of the young servant girls were so taken by him. Beside him stood another young man who was equally handsome especially when he gave his famed smirk, Lord Beauford, the princes right hand man and best friend. The two males were easily some of the most handsome men she had ever laid eyes upon but she held herself with a bit more respect around them than the other servant girls who tripped over themselves to be acknowledged by them in some way, shape, or form. When Theon apologized for Ana's actions Rose's eyebrows shot up in surprise and she gave him a small but genuine smile. "Not to speak out of turn your highness, but no apology is necessary. I take her actions as high praise as odd as that may sound." The delicate looking blonde explained and gave the youngest princess a smile as she spoke. When Theon reach forward and took a tart for himself her smile grew and she felt herself hoping that he would enjoy the pastery as much as his sister did. Hearing Theon declare that she now had the rest of the night off Rose almost dropped the platter in surprise. That was the last thing she ever thought she would hear on such a busy and important night. "T-thank you your highness." Rose gasped and in the back of her mind she was suddenly trying to figure out what she would do for the rest of the day.

As the royals began to depart the kitchen Lord Beauford's farewell earned the man a genuine laugh from the servant girl as she held a great appreciation for puns. Placing the tray of sweets down on the counter Rose wiped her hands on her skirt, leaving flour handprints all over the cloth. "Good luck your majesty." Rose called after Theon as he departed to meet his bride to be.

Waverly

Mood: Lighthearted

Location: Palace Entrance

Breakfast had been tense, but that was pretty normal at this point. Both Theon and Ana had failed to show up to the meal with their mother and Emmy had come covered in paint. Waverly honestly didn't mind and was more interested in how his sister's artwork was progressing than the state of her clothes, their mother unfortunately did not feel the same way. Doing the best he could Waverly tried to ease the tension of the early morning meal by discussing things he knew his mother would enjoy talking about, an attempt to keep her from fixating on her missing children and paint covered sister. This was Waverly's role most of the time, he was the peacekeeper, the one who was usually able to quell their mothers rage long enough for the others to get their stories and excuses together. The youngest prince didn't mind playing this part because it meant he could make life somewhat easier for his older siblings and in his mind that was enough for him. He did the best he could but with the stress of today weighing on all of them it wasn't as easy to distract his mother today.

Once the meal was over Waverly excused himself from the table and had hoped to catch up with Emmy before she disappeared but unfortunately missed her. Unlike his older siblings he didn't have any real special guests showing up for the ball later in the evening so he wasn't as much of a concern in his mothers eyes today. Plus, he was usually pretty good about getting ready and being on time so at the end of the day their mother seldom paid him any real attention.

Deciding to go wherever his feet took him Waverly ended up in one of his favorite places in the entire castle. The castle library was impressive to say the least, there were books on practically everything in the countless shelves that went on for what felt like ages. For several hours Waverly wandered the shelves, reading poems, studying diagrams, enjoying epic tales, until finally he found a book that truly caught his interest. Plucking it from the shelf the youngest prince turned on his heels swiftly and with a smile on his lips he departed the library and made his way through the palace. Finally after several minutes of walking the boy stood before massive chamber doors and carefully pushed them open, inside the room lay the bed ridden king. This had become somewhat of a tradition between the father and son in recent months. When Waverly would find a particularly interesting book he would bring it to his fathers chambers and read it aloud for the old man.

After several hours of enjoying the literature with his father Waverly closed the book, marking the page, and left it at his fathers bedside. He spoke with the king for several minutes and the two enjoyed the time they had together. Eventually though Waverly was forced to depart in order to get dressed for the nights affairs. The young prince quickly made his way back to his chambers and got into some of his finer graments, being sure to style his curly hair just the way his mother liked, not that it ever stayed that way. Realizing he was running slightly behind schedule the young boy bolted out the chamber door while still putting his shoes on and almost crashed into a suit of armor. He managed to recover his footing and sped through the palace halls to the grand entrance. Upon reaching the front doors of the palace he slowed to a steady stride and came to stand beside his oldest sister. Glancing over at her he gave her a wide and boyish smile as he whispered, "You look enchanting Emmy, though I do miss the paint." He half joked though he did like seeing his sister in her true element rather than dolled up like his mother wanted. "I hope your masterpiece is coming along well, I really do look forward to getting to see it some day."

PRINCESS ANASTASIA VICTORIA KANE
Interacting With: Lord Beauford Wolfiee Wolfiee Vera & Rose Sanctuaryforall1 Sanctuaryforall1

Anastasia watched as her older brother tore off down the hallway, the Crown Prince of Valeria who always seemed to have everything under control, completely losing his wits as his betrothed arrived at the palace. Of course, Theon had not left Anastasia alone, but rather in the care of his best friend, Lord Beauford, who was currently offering his arm to Ana so that he could escort her back to her bedroom to prepare for the ball. Anastasia let out a sigh as she watched her brother disappear, before tentatively placing her hand on Beauford's arm. She cocked an eyebrow at his serious tone, Beauford was not usually the one to remind Ana of her duties, but he was right. She did need to get ready at some point. As the pair made their way down the halls Anastasia could feel herself slowly relaxing. She wasn't as tense around Beauford as she was around her siblings or other nobility. Beauford was always playful and charming, it was one of the many things Anastasia liked about him. However, she became increasingly aware of the stares they were receiving, the eyes of the nobility landed on the pair. It was no secret amongst the other royals that the queen had high hopes of marrying Anastasia and Lord Beauford when the time was right. Beauford came from a powerful and wealthy family, the perfect match for the queens youngest daughter, however, Beauford and Anastasia had yet to be made aware of this plan.

A playful smirk tugged at Anastasia's lips as Beauford mentioned Theon's betrothed. "Princess Lilliana? Please... have you seen her portraits? She's far too beautiful for Theon." She teased. When Anastasia had been younger she had seen the portrait of Lilliana that had been sent to her parents when they had first begun arranging Teritheon's engagement to her. She had thought the foreign princess was the most beautiful woman she had ever seen and had even insisted that her own hair be styled exactly like the other princesses for weeks. As much as her brother irked her, she couldn't deny that she wanted him to be happy. She truly hoped that her future sister in law was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. As they neared Anastasia's room she began nervously twirling a piece of her hair around her finger. She probably looked a mess right now, dirt on her dress from her morning ride, her hair not even styled. Of course, Beauford had seen her look much worse. But she was a woman now... should she be trying to impress him? What would her mother say? She quickly pushed those thoughts aside when she heard his voice again, his flirtatious tone bringing the slightest hint of a blush to her cheeks. "Absolutely not, no sneak peeks." she grinned turning to face Beauford as they stood outside her bedroom door. "But I will save you a dance..." her baby blue irises peered up at him through her thick lashes and for a moment she didn't know what to say. "Vera is... probably waiting for me." She stuttered softly. "I'll see you tonight, Lord Beauford." She smiled softly, before inching the door to her room open and slipping inside.

She was grinning like a school girl as she shut the door behind her, only being pulled out of her daze when her eyes landed on Vera's waiting form. Before Vera could say anything Anastasia spoke "I know, I know... my hair." she laughed, combing through it with her fingers as she made her way towards her massive wardrobe to see the gown that the royal dress maker had designed specifically for her. A few dresses had arrived this morning, but Ana had yet to get a good look at any of them. A small gasp left her lips when she saw the dazzling, golden gown that she was to wear tonight. "Oh my gosh... it's gorgeous." She breathed, gently running her fingers across the delicate lace detailing. It was customary for the royals of Valeria to be clad in either gold or white, but the royal dress maker had outdone himself this time. "Vera look... there's one for you too!" she grinned excitedly, as her eyes landed on another gown, a piece of parchment pinned to it with Vera's name written on it. Anastasia hated to admit it, but she loved getting dressed up sometimes. She knew she was luckier than most... and at the moment, a wonderfully mischievous but kind hearted thought crossed her mind. Anastasia stepped away for a short moment, opening the door to her bedroom and seeing quite a few maids bustling around the royal quarters. She hastily ushered the first one she saw, "Could you fetch Rose for me... last I saw her she was in the kitchens... I need... more... pastries." Anastasia lied through her teeth, but it was as good an excuse as she could come up with for requesting the presence of a specific servant.

Once the maid nodded and went off to find Rose, Anastasia wandered back into her bedroom, taking a seat on one of the many chairs that littered her room. Vera swiftly began delicately braiding Anastasia's hair and Ana said patiently until there was a knock at the door. "Vera... don't freak out." She chewed her lip softly before shouting loudly so that whoever was on the other side of the door could hear her. "Come in!" She was grinning happily when Rose entered, the servant girl seemed confused as to why she had been summoned by the princess tonight. Anastasia couldn't rise from her seat to greet her, as Vera was still doing her hair, but she hastily gestured for the blonde to sit down. "My brother gave you the night off, did he not?" She smirked mischievously as the servant nodded. "Then it's settled. Go pick out a dress from my closet, you'll be attending the ball tonight, as my guest." She knew her mother would be furious if she found out that Anastasia had invited a servant to the ball, but if all went as planned, nobody would even be able to tell that Rose was a servant tonight. "Please, I insist. Vera and I would really appreciate the company." She laughed gently, once Vera had finished her hair Anastasia rose to her feet, examine her hair in the mirror. "Vera it's beautiful... thank you!" She embraced her lady in waiting in a tight hug. "Okay... time to get in our dresses." Anastasia had to keep herself from jumping with excitement.

PRINCE TERITHEON AGNAR KANE
Interacting With: Lilliana & Beauford Wolfiee Wolfiee

Teritheon visibly relaxed when he heard Lilliana's soft voice ask if he was as nervous as she was. His facial features softened as the tiniest of smirks tugged at his lips. "Is it that obvious?" He chucked softly, before offering the princess his arm. He could feel several pairs of eyes on him, but the crown prince was used to this kind of attention. He had grown up in the spot light, his every action constantly being scrutinized and examined. He wanted to be a good king, but he doubted that would be an easy feat. His job now was to escort Lilliana to her chambers where her and her lady in waiting would be staying until their marriage. To be perfectly honest, Teritheon had no idea when their marriage date was set for, or if it even was set. But he knew when the day finally came it would be a spectacle unlike any the kingdom of Valeria had ever seen before. The thought of it made his stomach flip, spending the rest of his life with a woman he barely knew. He hoped he would have time to get to know her before the fateful day came. For now, he would try to learn as much about her as he could. "Your portrait doesn't do you justice... you're far more beautiful in person." He spoke softly, so that only the princess would hear. As they walked up the marble stairs that led into the palace, Theon could feel himself relaxing as they strayed farther from the crowd of prying eyes.

Behind them he could hear his mother ordering the servants to grab Lilliana's things and bring them to her quarters, for once he was thankful that his mother was handling that. He hated bossing the servants around, but it was something that had always come easy to the queen. "Everyone in the palace has been busy arranging your room... I hope it's to your liking. It's actually uh... just down the hall from my room. But of course, if that makes you uncomfortable we can always change that." He cleared his throat casually, not wanting to make her uncomfortable. His footsteps echoed in the large corridors of the Valerian castle, when he had been a boy the palace had always felt so incredibly massive, even now as he walked through the halls a full grown man, that feeling hadn't changed. "I know we don't know each other well... but I'm hoping that's something we can remedy." He smiled softly, as he neared the bedroom that would soon be Lilliana's. "Here we are..." he trailed off slowly, opening the door to the massive bedroom where servants were still dusting and arranging furniture. His eyes never left Lilliana as she began to explore the room. "There's a ball tonight, the entire castle has been buzzing about it. Fancy gowns and beautiful music, and the food," he chuckled "It's to die for." He was becoming increasingly aware of more servants entering the bedroom with Lilliana's things. "I'll let you get settled, but I do hope you'll save a dance for me tonight." He smirked ever so softly before bowing once more.

Teritheon usually tried to keep up a confident front, even when his heart was pounding, he usually seemed unphased. But as the prince left the quarters of his fiancé he loosened the collar of his shirt. Was he sweating? Why was he acting this way? He normally never got flustered by women. He forced himself to take a deep breath before entering his own bedroom. Heaving a sigh of relief, he shut the door behind him and relished his much needed privacy. His eyes landed on his favorite sword, which had been freshly sharpened by no other than it's maker, Ronan, the palace blacksmith. His hand reached for the blade, the weight of it in his hand comforting and familiar. He made a note to thank Ronan later, and in fact, had a servant bring Ronan a bottle of champagne as a sign of his gratitude. Placing the beautiful crafted weapon down Teritheon flopped down on his bed. He had only a few hours before the ball began. He knew he needed to begin getting ready, and then arrive early to greet the kingdoms many guests, but maybe if he shut his eyes for just a few moments... No. The prince couldn't risk falling asleep now and winding up late for the ball. He forced himself back up to his feet as he riffled through his closet looking for his formal attire to wear to the ball. He would meet Lord Beauford downstairs shortly.

*********

Teritheon stared at himself in the mirror now that he was all polished and ready. Something was missing... oh right. His crown. He was required to wear it at all formal events. The heavy golden crown was kept safe inside a small chest by his bed, which he knelt down to open. The metal was cold as he gripped it in both hands, placing it atop his head before reviewing his appearance one more time in the mirror. This would have to do, he decided. As he made his way down the hallways they were eerily quiet. All the servants that had filled them earlier were now waiting in the ballroom. The nobility were all dressed in their best, ready to dance the night away. He could hear the soft echo of an orchestra playing lively music in the ballroom, which only grew louder as he approached. He should've been used to it by now, the spectacular grandeur of a royal ball, but the flashes of brilliant fabrics, expensive jewelry, beautiful music, and mouth watering food never failed to shock him to his core. He could see the glow of life illuminating the hallway outside of the ballroom, and waiting by the entrance was Beauford. Theon let out a breath he hadn't even known he'd been holding at the sight of a familiar face. "Beauford," He clapped his hand on the other boys shoulder, "Let's do this thing." He laughed softly, before entering the ball, hoping not to draw too much attention to himself.

Princess Lilliana

Lilliana had blushed at the compliments from Theon and nodded about saving a dance for him tonight. She then watched as he smirked lightly bowed and departed to allow her to settle herself in. The raven haired woman looked around as many servants moved about helping to set her belongings into place. Her blue eyes flickered over to Dalia with a warm smile.”Once you’ve helped me get into my dress make sure to go and get one on for yourself. You can burrow any of mine that you might like. Then you can have the night off and enjoy yourself. I know we won’t have much time to enjoy ourselves soon so I want you to have a night of freedom. “She said warmly to her friend and lady in waiting. It was true soon they wouldn’t have much time for themselves as they’d be learning more of the customs of this kingdom while also informing them of their own customs. She smirked slightly when Dalia thanked her looking excited about the chance to dance the night away without worrying about her lady. Though Lilliana knew Dalia would be at her side in a instant no matter what if something were to happen.

It was a little while later when Lilli looked at herself in the mirror a warm smile gracing her lips. Her long black locks flowed down her back now wavy instead of the current of black silk they usually were. Her dress was nothing like the ones usually worn in this kingdom. It was beautiful none the less with a long flowing black skirt with multiple folds of lace. It touched the ground completely covering her legs in a veil of black. While her top was see through lace exposing bits of her arms chest that were covered by the material a covered her breast enough so they weren’t exposed. Then the biggest difference between her kingdoms dress and others was that her stomach and lower back were completely exposed. This dress looked beautiful upon her frame her curves fit it perfectly she smiled at herself in the long mirror.”I hope Prince Teritheon likes it. Now come here I have a necklace that’ll go great with that dress.”she said warmly to Dalia who had gotten dressed along side her the two helping one another with their dresses and hair. She held a necklace up one that matched the dress Dalia had on perfectly. Once Dalia had made it over to her she gently moved her friend hair then put the necklace on gently. “Come now let’s have a look in the mirror.”she steered her over towards the mirror then broke out in a bright smile.”Beautiful! Now after this you can keep the necklace or send it to your mother. I know you work so hard for your family and you always go above and beyond helping me.”she said softy looking at her friend in the mirror.

Michael was a peasant, he knew. He wasn’t ever going to be up their with Rose and Anastasia. He wouldn’t ever be up there with the knights and the guards. He was a stable boy, the lowest of the low. Even the horses outranked him. But he couldn’t help but want to be up there in the castle.

The ball was going on. Girls in fancy gowns, the men in tuxedos. Golden fabric weaved in skirts, silk and satin handmade. The plainest outfits were nicer than anything he would ever know. It was a joke, to even be friends with Rose was a step above his station.

Forbidden items always look the prettiest. But with the nobles coming in, maybe it didn’t have to be so forbidden. Maybe, just maybe, he could be clever enough. If not, they would have his head. Then he would have to be quick. And he would have to be stealthy.

Adam let’s him look him over as he eats his apple. “I been busy with preparations so I hardly had time to sleep” he yawns. He wasn’t much a sleeper as his past haunts him. His parents died in an invasion by a different kingdom when he was 12.

He nods at the mention of drinks even though he’s not much of a drinker. His eyes wander around the hall looking for any threats.

LADY DALIA YASIN

Dalia studied her surroundings as she trailed behind a little ways behind her lady and the prince. The interior of the palace was beautifully crafted like the exterior had been. She did her best to tune out the conversation happening between the two royals, however, that was nearly impossible for the curious-minded woman.

Once they were in there designated chamber and out of sight of the prince, Dalia shooed the servants away and began to explore the large room that they had been given. "He was quite generous with the flattery." she commented to Lilliana, her fingers gliding over the folds of the curtain in the room. She came to a sudden stop in front of the window when raven-haired girl mentioned that she would be dismissed from her duties from the night. She raised her brows in surprise, "Really? Then I shall do as her highness request, of course." With that, her lips curled up into a pleased smile. She meant what she said. She would do just that. She would flirt, dance, and play the role of a perfect lady. However, she would also use this time to learn about the court at Valeria.

—————

Later that day, Dalia assisted the princess in getting ready for the ball. She helped the other girl into her lace, black gown and arranged her onyx hair in a tasteful way. The dark-haired lady-in-waiting stood in front of the future-queen, applying the last bit of cosmetics to her. "There." she said, stepping back to admire her work. "I think that the prince shall be perfectly enchanted with you after tonight, if he isn’t already so." At that, she displayed a dramatic curtsy and gave the other woman a playful smirk. With her natural beauty and stunning dark gown, there was no way that Lilliana would go unnoticed.

The sun-kissed woman herself had her hair half pulled up and pinned into place (hairstyle) with a light dusting of cosmetics on her face. She was dressed in flowy white silks that clung to her curves as she moved. It had a plunging neckline and a scandalous slit up the leg. On the back, it was decorated with elegant gems. Dalia had chosen the dress for a couple of different reasons. One, she wanted to mark herself as a foreign lady by wearing the fashion of her home kingdom. Two, she had chosen the color white as a political move—she wanted to state her interest in keeping the alliance between the two kingdoms.

While Lilliana had always been generous to her, Dalia’s blue eyes widened when the princess presented the necklace to her. It was undeniably beautiful. Too beautiful for her. She was almost hesitant to accept it but she knew Lilliana would insist on it. She carefully helped Lilliana lift her hair out of the the way. Once it was clasped, she dropped her hands from her hair and touched the delicate gems. She carefully studied herself in the mirror. "You spoil me rotten, Lily. It’s my duty as a friend and a lady-in-waiting to take care of you. I do my best but I’m not nearly as good as you say." At the mention of her mother, she frowned slightly. Her and her mother's relationship was complicated. Dalia's mother was a mentally unstable woman. In fact, many of the servants on her family's estate would whisper about her madness and referred to her as "Zara the Mad" amongst themselves. Even so, the lady-in-waiting was sure she would enjoy the necklace if she sent it. Her mother was both estranged and greedy. "But thank you. It’s beautiful." And she meant it.

"Now that we both look like goddesses—shall we go give the people of Valeria something to talk about, my lady?" she inquired with a mischievous grin reforming on her lips. She then offered an arm out for Lilliana to take.
