The king and queen of Valeria were beloved by all their people, and with every child born their lineage became stronger. With two proud sons and two beautiful daughters, the aging king knew his kingdom would be safe. Now that he has fallen ill, it seems the clock has begun to tick, and he is hell bent on getting his affairs in order before death takes him. His eldest son, the future king, must marry a woman who will make a formidable queen. His eldest daughter must be married off to form a strong alliance with a neighboring kingdom. His youngest son should be married to an equally formidable match in the event that one day he ascends to the throne. And his youngest daughter must get her head out of the clouds and begin the process of match making as well. While the king may be on his death bed, he knows his queen, who is much younger and more cunning than him, will make sure his children do their duty to their kingdom. While they have all been raised with duty and honor in mind, their kingdom being their greatest responsibility, unfortunately the king may find that their hearts are not so easily swayed, especially when it comes to love.

*In case you haven't noticed yet - This is a fantasy kingdom RP! While obviously we have at least four roles to fill (the four children of the crown) there are many other roles that can be played here as well! We will need a princess from a neighboring kingdom for the eldest son, and a prince from a neighboring kingdom for the eldest daughter. But this does not necessarily mean that the characters will end up with their betrothed. Perhaps the eldest son falls in love with the fiancé of the youngest son, perhaps the youngest son is in love with a palace servant, the youngest princess in love with a stable boy. The possibilities here are endless, and I have no doubt that plotting it all out will be so much fun. But before we can plot - we need characters to plot with!*

    Description:
    Zelena is a rather beautiful woman, but her style doesn't exactly fit the standard for the time. She stands at only 5'0 tall and weighs 110 pounds of mostly muscle. Her long black hair is normally worn down and frames her face, which also makes her stark white skin stand out even more. These features, along with her icy blue eyes, make her quite easy to spot in a crowd. Of course, in her area, her level of muscle is also a bit strange for a woman, so she doesn't always stand out in a good way.     Description:
    Zelena is a strong, confident young woman who's greatest fear is appearing weak in the face of her enemies. It is for this reason that she refuses to show any emotions besides calm and slight irritation. All her smiles are hidden behind a mask of strength. She has the typical movie villain opinion that love makes one weak, as shown by the lack of love and people to care for in her life. In fact, whenever she finds herself beginning to grow close to someone, she makes a point of pushing them away, in fear of her enemies retaliating against her and any she cares about. This has caused her to become a very cold person who believes that even if love wouldn't make her weak, she is a monster who is undeserving of it. Her goal in life is keeping monsters, like herself and her family, from ruining any more lives.

This also means that she often has to flirt with men in positions of power, so she can inflate their egos just enough to make them easily crushed. However, if it is taken too far, she will not hesitate to put the façade to an end. If someone were to flirt with her when her mask is down, she just assumes that they require something, as she often does. Really, she is a damaged girl who believes that no one could ever truly care for her.

    From a young age, it was obvious that Zelena was an intelligent child. She was born to a pair of incredibly rich nobles, Lord and Lady Bennett along with her twin brother, Theodore. Theodore was, however, always better. He was smarter, faster, stronger, and really just everything she wasn't. He didn't have the fiery temper that has no faded within her, but instead an unbridled optimism and love for all creatures. They were raised with the best possible tutors and things were looking good for the twins. That is, until their eighth birthday.
    
    That year, Theodore was getting a special present, his own sword. So, he and his mother decided to take a special trip into the woods, so he could practice where the knights do. At the time, Zelena and her father were being introduced to her new pony, which was her birthday present. This is where everything went wrong. Hours past, with no sign of the lady or her son. Eventually, a search party was sent out to find them, or what was left. The knights came across Zelena's mother's body at the entrance of the woods, with blood trailing inside. She was stabbed through the heart and had been dead for hours. With the medical advancements of the time, even if they had found her a minute after she was injured, there would have been no saving her. Theodore was never found, but his sword was found a few feet away, with blood on it. This is the sword which killed his own mother.
    
    After that incident, both Zelena and her father were forever changed. He turned into a ruthless military man, who insisted that him loving his wife was what got her killed. So, he quickly decided to never show any love to his daughter again. Meanwhile, Zel was raised a warrior, as Theodore should have been. She learned how to kill at the age of ten and quickly became feared for her skill in battle. She spent many nights sobbing in her bedchambers for the life that was lost.
