Blackrose7

True Black Rose Beauty
The kingdom of Desara has been in chaos for weeks, travellers of all sort arrive in droves. The prophets foretold that evil will rise and those who fled their homes would agree...
"this dark tower shot up in the middle of Bossits, turned the city into a labyrinth of death!"
"The farms were overrun by gnolls! Big green gnolls more muscle then hair!"
"We rode the horses to death escaping them... then we just kept running..."

Of course not everyone hoping to make it behind the walls of Desara are here because unthinkable evil has killed family and friends as it destroyed your home. No many men and women pile into the city to see if they were chosen by the gods to save the world.
King Leo called for all women and girls to be examined for the heaven's light.
King Leo called for anyone who considers themselves worthy of becoming a legend.

Men and women line up at multiple churches with a mixture of excitement, anxious tension and a smell that gets less pleasing as the day progresses. Yosephi had his hands full, much like any other day for the feared guard...
Crime has gone up significantly with the increased number of people taking shelter within the city walls. These dark towers effect all the land, evil truly rises. Yosephi however cares little for prophecy or the foolish who commit wrong on his streets.

Like a cruel form of shaming Yosephi hands off six criminals to some no name guards. Yosephi had each bit of scum handcuffed to another ready for the lot of them to be dragged off by a pair of horses. "Seph you know this ain't right" one of the guards says lifting his helmet up to access the situation further.
"four thieves, two drunken indecents"
Yosephi calmly states before spitting on the ground. "I broke their fingers but I'll ask you rough them up further as you cage these animals."
"Uh.. sure Sir, we will" the second guard states with a half hearted shrug, punching the first in line before tying them to the horses.
"You shouldn't encourage him" the first guard sighs only for the second to snap back quickly
"I ain't messing with Absurd, he makes these criminals shit themselves THEN locks them up together in it... He never stops, it's like telling the Sun to stop shining."
The man both sides of the law was afraid of hadn't stuck around to hear gossip of himself. Instead he made his way towards one of the many hot spots for thieves and assault.

Speaking of a hot spot, a warrior having made her way to Desara finally makes it through the gate.
After the entrance process of course. Which is payment of a gold coin and your information recorded for the book. The guards explain that there are four churches able to examine you for the light, people who think themselves worthy of being a legend are directed to the royal church on castle grounds.
Blackrose7 Blackrose7

A decent bit of advice, the time spent making it to the castle would probably be less than standing with the crowds throughout the city. Four churches open to the general public and each is packed with guards and ministers, nuns and other church workers trying to keep order and efficiency maintained. The royal church is within the castle walls, but proving yourself a legend may be difficult struggle itself.

Tranquil Ghost

Tranquil
A lone wanderer walks along a dirt road weaving in-between the shadows.
The wanderer lets out a sigh as they finally see the walls of the kingdom of desara but then notices a gang of thieves attempting to rob an expensive looking carriage drawn by 2 white and black horses. The wanderer waits in the shadow of a tree watching as the guards and thieves fight each other. Cries of pain fill air as 2 of the thieves go down from a slash of a guards sword but as the guard goes for another thief one of the downed thieves gets back up behind the guard and stabs them three times in the back with a dagger but as the thief turns around they are dead before they hit the ground. As the wanderer continues to watch the thieves finally manage to kill the rest of the guards but only leaving 2 out of the 6 thieves alive. The thieves walk over to the door of the carriage and walk inside only to bring out a husband and wife with a little girl beside them. The wanderer immediately knows what's going to happen next and darts out of the shadow running silently as they near the 2 thieves, when the wanderer is basically right behind them he pulls out 2 daggers and kills one of the thieves but the whine of the steel coming out of there sheathes make the second thief jump away. As the 2 stare at each other the thief jumps at the wanderer swinging there short sword towards the wanderers head but the wanderer easily ducks and raises one of the daggers enough that the momentum from the thieves swing makes the thieves arm slide right across the edge of the dagger. The thief immediately loses there grip of the sword and the wanderer slit the thieves throat before there sword hit the ground. The wanderer sheathes there 2 blades and loots the thieves and guards making sure to take their weapons to sell later. The wanderer then walks up to the family still in shock about what has happened.

"you guys wouldn't happen to have an extra sack laying around would ya?" the wanderer asks the family.
"y-y-yes we do...' the husband replies.
"great can i have it?' the wanderer says.
"'y-yes of course let me grab it" the husband says sheepishly as he enter the carriage. The husband comes out a second later carrying a finely sowed sack with a strange symbol sowed in the middle.
"thank you" says the wanderer as the husbands hands over the sack.
"no i should be thanking you for saving me and my family, i don't know what would've happened if you hadn't shown up" says the husband with gratitude in his eyes.
"i do" says the wanderer, sadness in their eyes show for a brief second then disappears.

The wanderer sets off again for desara carrying the bag full of the weapons he looted.
A day passes and the wanderer reaches the gates. They pay a gold coin and gives the guards false information to record.

The wanderer has finally made it inside the gates and thinks to themselves what they should do next.

The long wait through the gate of the Desara kingdom was finally over for Gwen, they paid the guards with a gold coin, showed her face towards them before putting her helmet back on, and told them her real name. They also told the guards to call her Gavin Jarvis from that point on, because they don't like it when people see her face after the bad experience they almost had to deal with in the village with some guys.

After saying that to the guards, Gwen headed towards one of the public churches. They wanted to go there, because if something were to happen like they end up being the light. She can use the crowd to escape from that situation, because they don't want to be in the spotlight.

Many miles away from Desara is a small village to the south with a low population of simple farmers. Day was breaking and their work was already done, as is the way for farmers such as them, but it was soon time for their visitors to be on their way. Some days ago a small company of knights had come to the village. They were on their way to the kingdom and soon to make it to their last stretch, but when they entered this small village they were faced with a problem. These people were being harassed by creatures of the night, their crops taken and livestock all nearly slaughtered. These beasts were just smart enough to treat these people as tools to get what they wanted, food, and kept them alive just to take more when they got hungry again. They were monsters posing as bandits.

Unfortunately for them, their raids were going to start getting cut short, for the next time they arrived, the farmers had friends. These knights had a tough choice to make. They either continue on their journey after months of traveling, or they stay and protect these people. They chose the latter, and for the next week they stayed and detoured the efforts of these monsters. This couldn't last forever though, the kingdom needed as much help as they could get. Only a year had past when this small squad split from the military after a devastating attack, and these are the knights that would stay by their captains side. Until now.

"Sir." A knight spoke as he removed his helmet. He stumbled on his words. It was hard for the man to call him anything but Sir, however, it was no longer fitting. He finally collected his thoughts and continued. "Are you sure you want to stay behind? They could really use you on the front lines..." They spoke to a man wrapped up in his cloak, sitting with his sword resting against him. "Hm..." was the response given by the large man. "Take care of my axe for me, I'll need it later." Another knight stepped forward to speak. "Gust, you should come with us, these people will be fine. Those things are too scared to return!" Gust looked over, then down again. "They aren't dead are they? I wont leave these people until they are safe." He shifted around to get out his pen and pad out from under his cloak, revealing his rough, burly hands. "It just wouldn't be right..." He began to write carefully as he had many times before. There was no stopping him. Their former commander made up his mind, and by noon, 8 knights clad in armor were heading north for Desara. Gust grinned at their leave, the brilliant shine of the sun on their armor amused him. He continued to draw, and write, and document his surroundings. When he was done, he read his previous notes so to not forget where he was and where he had been.

Night fell once more, and Gust waited outside of the village, with the faintest blue tinted light shining on him and the grassy field. Standing there with a mighty tower shield in front of him. He held it up with his hand on it's top, however for a tower shield, it was not very tall compared to him. His large sword rests on his cloaked shoulder, while he waited. He knew damn well they would attack tonight, the conditions were well in the monsters' favor. Gust was outnumbered, but he stood sturdy in wait for their arrival, and after some time, Gusts first trap went off. A large crashing sound could be heard 50 paces behind him. Within the cow's pin, a goblin was trapped by the arm, between two heavy wood planks. It screamed and panicked while their fellow goblin tried to help lift the planks. A third goblin hopped the fence, and after a quick look at the situation, decided to pull out it's axe to cut off the trapped arm, but it was too late. A soaring shield smashed into one of the foolish goblins, but it just kept going. Gusts tower shield crashed into the stone wall where it stuck, leaving a very dead goblin. The booming foot steps of Gusts stride could be heard before effortlessly cutting down the other two. He quickly pulled the shield out of the wall and slammed it down onto yet another goblin. It hand only turned the corner and upon seeing Gust, slipped in the mud and tried to scramble away. But it was too late. The booming sound of the shields impact alerted the rest of the beasts that snuck in. Only a moment after Gust lifted a shield, another trap went off in a similar fashion. He quickly picked up his head and gave a wicked grin. The large man sprinted to the cabbage fields, ran right past the goblin in his trap and went right for a shield bash. One other goblin was struggling to run off with arms full of cabbages. It scrambled to keep them all together, but kept dropping them in a pathetic display. The goblin was sent flying by Gusts brutal pursuit, but as soon as it was done, the true monsters crept out of the shadows.

Behind Gust was the real threat, the Gnoll. Their glowing golden eyes shined in the moonlight. They perched all along rooftops and stepped out from the few ally ways, all holding swords, daggers and axes. The sound of cackling and growling came from shadow cloaked figures surrounding Gust, and when they attacked, their forms showed themselves in the light. Gust smiled under his hood. He threw his shield at one gnoll then his sword at the other, which pierced it right through into a wall. Gust launched himself through two others as they sliced through his cloak. He ripped the sword right out of his victim and cut down the others. More gnoll appeared out of the shadows all cutting towards him, but he blocked and evaded. Not even four at once matched his strength. He shoved them aside and stomped on the ones that fell. Gust preformed a flip over one and landed on another, stomping its head into the mud. The knight delivered a powerful front kick to an approaching gnoll, and knocked it straight into a wall. It took Gust a few short moments to tear through more to get back to his shield.

The gnoll behind him all split apart to make way for a particularly crazy one with a great axe. Gust swiftly turned, making his cloak flap behind him, and quickly put his shield in front of the axe. It stuck there, and the gnoll looked at his weapon in astonishment. It got a good look at Gusts face, before getting flattened against the tower shield. It shot into the air as it howled in pain. Gust threw his sword into the ground, and his hand began to catch flame. He threw the smoking fireball into the air only to finish off his last chew toy. The debris fell around them all, and they all unanimously retreated from Gust, only to be chased and thinned out into nothing. Midnight drew to a close, and this time, not a single Gnoll or Goblin escaped. Gust returned to a village, and opened up a cellar where all the villagers hid. "It's over." He said unceremoniously and before long, he was surrounded by the farmers' cheer and celebration.

Kaius Solhir
Kaius had woken early that day, shifting slowly around his rented room as he got ready. After lazily pulling on his usual blue clad attire, the youthful man made his way down to the tavern below. Another renter was already seated at the bar, mumbling complaints about the crowded streets of Desara and the ridiculous entrance fee. Taking a seat next to the elderly renter, politely disregarding him as he tried to engaged in small talk, more complaints about how things used to be. He ate a quick breakfast of oats and bread and left. It had been two years since he had been to the city, really finding its encasing stone walls and high population unsettling. Still, this was the best place to buy what he was looking for. With a single axe on his belt, he found his way to the blacksmith visited the previous morning. Raising an arm with a friendly hello, he jogged the remaining steps toward the middle aged blacksmith.

"G'Mornin'!" The man placed a heavy bear paw of a hand on Kai's shoulder. "I got your weapons ready, lets see that old one of yours, eh?"

Kai pulled the lone axe from his hip and handed it over, the blacksmith inspecting it. He gave a satisfied grunt and put it aside, hobbling over to a newly forged set of tomahawk axes. Each beautifully crafted by skilled hands. They were handed over so the younger gentleman could give them a couple test swings and flick his thumb over the blades edge. Pleased with the craftsmanship, he pulled out several hefty coins to pay. The blacksmith shook his head and insisted that he only paid half price, since he traded in his old axe. The materials from it would be recycled out, saving the working man some coin. Kaius didn't argue with him and set the weapons into the holsters on his hips.

As the richly colored early morning sky slowly faded away to blue, the streets began bustling with life. With the Churches opened for, what was it? Auditions? For their relentless search for this Light. After his own personal encounter with a Demon, Kai had high doubts that any sort of person existed with enough power or strength to take out such monsters. Goblins, gnolls, trolls, monsters of those sorts were generally no issue. Especially for the athletic quickness of his own fighting style. Deciding to get himself a treat with the money he was able to save, he found the bakery and browsed the many treats and breads long enough to make the baker a little suspicious. This was erased the moment Kai bought a loaf of bread still hot from that morning and several doughnut like treats.

Taking this meal to a bench overlooking a large courtyard before one of the four churches. A large mass of people had already showed, some looking excited to be there and others appearing as if they were there by force. He sat there and watched the people, eyeing the pigeons that bravely hopped around, getting ever so slightly closer as the man munched on his treats. He picked a piece off the bread loaf and tossed it to them, watching with amusement as they all rushed the single bit at once. He debated upon tossing another piece but decided against it. Last time he did that here, he had been surrounded by the birds and they harassed him when he ran out of bread.

His attention was drawn away from his bird friends when a strong gleam of light filled his eyes so much, he thought he was about to have a vision of God. He blinked a few times to clear his eyes of the bright light that bounced into them. Kai looked up for the source and noticed a short female form clad in armor walking right past him, the small gathering of demanind pigeons uncaring to the close proximity.

Upon walking past the stranger, they arrived at the public church. There was a crowd of people that were waiting for their turn, but Gwen didn't mind about that. As long as she wasn't the first one to enter the public church. They wouldn't mind the waiting.
The waiting was long and tedious, and some people were leaving, because they didn't want to wait in the crowd. However, those who could wait in the long and tedious line were able to enter the public church. Most of them weren't chosen to become a legend or the light by the minister, so they walked out of the church with a sad or angry look on their face.

Eventually, it was Gwen's turn, so they entered the church. Once there, the male minister inspected Gwen. It was hard to see whether or not she was the light or a legend, because of her armor. The minister then asked Gwen to take off their helmet, but she refused to do that. This caused them to become suspicious of the mysterious armor person.
Wanting to see how they would react, the male minister told a guard to take their helmet off. It caused Gwen and that guard to start a shoving match, since she was trying to keep them away from the helmet. That plan of hers to keep the guard away from their helmet had failed, because the second guard was able to sneak up behind her to take it off.
Gwen didn't know what happened until it was too late, so they attempted to get their helmet back from the second guard. "GIVE ME BACK MY HELMET!" said Gwen, screaming.
While the second guard wanted to tease Gwen with the helmet, because their reaction was priceless. It didn't last very long, since as soon as the armor lady opened her mouth. They had to return the helmet to them, because something was making them do that against their will.
While Gwen was putting on her helmet, the male minister watched the situation with a surprised look on his face. He wasn't expecting the light to be here, because they thought the light would appear in the royal church. "Someone tell the king about this, because we found the light." said the male minister.

Everybody was quiet for a few minutes when they heard what the minister said. They didn't believe him until the second guard spoke up. "I don't know what she did, but whatever it was. It made me give her the helmet, despite not wanting to do that." said the second guard. He was glaring at Gwen, because they thought she possessed him.
When everybody in the public church heard that, some of them cried. Others were cheering while the rest of them were staring at Gwen. They all thought Gwen was going to save them from the darkness. However, Gwen was terrified by this. She didn't want to become the light, because saving the world is an enormous responsibility. Not to mention, they know it is going to get worse for her if she finishes the quest.
This caused them to bolt out of the public church out of pure fear.
The minister and the other church people were shocked by what Gwen did, since they weren't expecting her to run away. He had to tell the guards to hunt the armor person down for a good reason. Nobody wanted to lose lady light after having to deal with the dreadful search for them.

Gwen ran towards the crowd, so she could lose the crazy church people and the guards. 'Those people are crazy!' thought Gwen.
The guards tried their best to find Gwen in the crowd. Yet, they weren't able to, since she was saying excuse me and please move out of the way in their normal voice. As a result, those who heard Gwen's actual voice either got in the guards' way, or moved out of the way for Gwen. They adored or respected her for a bit, so none of them wanted the angel to be harmed.

Gust didn't stay long for the celebration that night. In fact, he left shortly after. The villagers found this strange, it was as if the man was oblivious to the partying that was taking place. He didn't seem to bat an eye and just walked off in a random direction. "What a strange fellow." One had said. Gust knew he had to get to Desara, so that was all he had on his mind. He just trudged along, pressing North.

Early morning broke, and Gust had made it to the outskirts where he would see the kingdom's walls scratches the sky before him. The sun crept over the landscape and shined down on him. He smiled as he admired the now well lit forest that surrounded him. He slowed his pace when he noticed something. Coming to a complete halt, he took out his note pad and sat down on a long. He then began to sketch a small white rabbit. Perhaps it was white or possibly gray, maybe even a silver hue, but it was admirable. As soon as Gust was just about finished, the rabbit was startled by something deeper in the forest, and forced to run off. "Strange." he thought. The gentle giant stood and looked around for whatever could have scared it off, but was struck by the faintest memory to continue into the kingdom. And so, he grabbed his gear, put his booklet away and marched on.

Within twenty or so minutes he reached the gate, when greeted by two guards who approached him. They attempted to stop him, but someone was very off about him that gave them the creeps. "Halt, we must ask you to... remove your... helmet-" Gust grin came off as a very disturbing sight. Such a large intimidating man smiling down at them made for an almost knee jerk reaction, but they stayed strong. "Um, yes. We can't let you into the city without seeing your face." The other guard spoke up and gulped before continuing. "It's mandatory I'm afraid." Gust wasn't aware of this requirement, but obliged anyway. He took off his helmet to reveal a large scar across his head, as if someone scooped a bit out. This didn't help seeing as the guards were already uneased. He placed the helmet back down on his head, and was given the go ahead. Gust walked on over through the city. He seemed lost however, in the way that only he could. He had no recollection of why he was here in the first place. His fellow knights had feared that splitting up with him would result in something like this. The only thing that reassured him is that "he's such a big guy, how could you miss him?"

After sometime, he managed to reach one of the churches. He simply followed the sun's beautiful rays, until he reached the outside of a large crowd, unable to move further. He looked down at the people who stood in front of him only to get scared half to death, similar to the guards reaction upon first seeing him. He looked up at the church itself, where it appeared to have some sort of commotion going on. He was guilty of curiosity, which led him to squeeze through the crowd to get a closer look. Then something appeared strange to him, and it caught his eye. Thanks to the sun, a glinting light twinkled in his vision. A small light in the crowd, moving swiftly. He began to walk in its direction when a Desara guard was knocked into him, causing the smaller man to fall, while Gust stood firm. Gusts eyes were taken off of the light shining in the crowd to the man who had fallen.

"Gah... I feel like I just hit a wall!" He quickly sprung up in anger. "Sorry!" Gust said quickly to the guard, and gave him what he though was an innocent smile. It was not an innocent smile, and instead came off as threatening. This unfortunate turn of events lead the guard to assume an offensive stance, while Gust, knowing full well what was about to happen, took a step back or two. The people around backed away as well in fear of getting hit. He was not about to start a fight with this guard, so instead of talking his way out of this, he simply took a step and turned to walk away. There was a 'CLASH' sound as Gust began to turn. The clumsy oaf ran into yet another, this time however it was somewhat more violent. The sound of full plated armor attributed to this, making such a racket as the much smaller knight collided with Gust's shield, and coincidentally threw them to the floor.

Gust quickly turned all the way around to observe what had happened, and the sun's brilliant rays greeted his entire frame with it's light. It was what he was searching for, the glinting twinkle. This fallen knight's armor was the cause of this light, and how fitting it was that the armor was worn by the light herself. Of course, he knew nothing about this, but the shining armor was still a sight to behold. Before he could help them up, the guard behind him shouted at him. "Stay right where you are!" Gust glanced behind him to see the guard with his weapon drawn. Fear really had gotten the best of him, and was acting irrationally. He looked back down at the knight, and thought of a small rabbit.

Gust didn't have many thoughts at the moment, so there was nothing clouding his judgment. He made an instinctual deduction that these guards were after someone, and that tensions were high. Who knows what will happen next if they find them. Gust removed his cloak and tossed it onto the knight, effectively hiding their shiny armor. He turned back towards the guard, and simply strolled up to him. Gust meant no harm, and really was a nice guy, but he knows full well how intimidating he can be. "H-hey, stay back! I can use some help over here! I need back up!" The guard's panic alerted more guards to their location, an effective distraction that's too good to not capitalize on. Gust chuckled, this whole tough guy act was kind of fun. Luckily, all the guards' attention was now on Gust, and not Gwen. Fate was a funny thing, and Gwen's encounter may have just saved her a lot of trouble.

- Lareine of the Arbremorti Nation -

Location: Forested Ravine just outside of the Desara Kingdom.

The rainy days had finally ended. And so too did the trek from one nation across vast wilderness and into the human led one.

From between the underbrush and out into the twilit clearing strut the enormous cat. Its snout held up to the sky and several sniffs it took. A grating growl rumbled from its chest and out its throat. Emerald eyes narrowed and a lip curled upward revealing huge, sharp ivory teeth contained in a maw that could easily fit a grown human's head inside. Desara. From even way out here in the forest, the soured smell of the city wafted about in the air; it smelled just as bad as promised. It shook out its massive black and tan body, vibrating its broad dark stripes from tip of nose to tip of tail. A deep breath it took as it turned its attention to the ground below it. Massive talons ejected from the massive paws and the ground was torn asunder.

Many a story was spun about this creature even before its journey here. Rumours, tall-tales, horror stories and lies. No matter the source of the story, one common thread that linked the tales together was the claims of the size of the footprints it left behind. That and the religious marks in the ground left in its wake. And so the elusive predator had been given the name; Beast of Gorun.

And here now, the truth of the tales was revealed in this clearing. The Beast finished marking up the ground with symbols and runes giving thanks to the Earth god. But the ritual did not end here. Every place it marked along the way was imbued with a spiritual residue unseen to mortal eyes. A spiritual marker, a breadcrumb trail. This is how it would find its way back home. And not only that; these markings on the ground were meant to be seen. These rumours, tall-tales, horror stories and lies told about the Beast and the markings only furthered its agenda. With every ear that heard such things was another set of lips to spread such stories and increased the status of the Legend.

Location: Western woods just outside of the Kingdom walls.

The trail of gigantic feline pawprints ended at the ravine's edge. This should stump any who followed the tracks. Did it leap to its death? Yes, it leapt... but not to its death. Mid-air it shifted from great pawed predator to great winged predator. And how perfect should it be to screech out over the water-logged treetops: make its presence known, challenge all rivals, and claim territory. It took nearly all its willpower to withhold its righteous sounds and bottle them up inside, but it did manage to land without a single utterance.

Another clearing. Another shifting of form. And surprisingly, whereas the striped jungle beast and the feathered taloned monster were definitely emerald-eyed and male, this bipedal form was definitely emerald-eyed and female. Fully clothed and armed was she too. Only those forms that kept her own eyes allowed her to stow her garb and implements inside the spirit world until such time she returned to the mortal one. And though perhaps not as dangerous looking as either prior form, she was nonetheless impressive, huge and still an effective predator. She would tower over many another human male and her body rippled with musculature, markings and magnificence, sculpted like no human female any may see. In fact, none may have ever seen such a creature before; seeded by a dryad mother and birthed by an orc mother.

A single deep breath the huge female took in. Green eyes glinted as she spied the trail that would lead her to the elf.

Little did the smuggler know that it was to meet with Lareine of the Arbremorti Nation. In her homelands the unique Dryad-Orc hybrid was revered as: She, The Wildling. And She held herself named as such a person. Look into her eyes, hold that intensity should you dare, and believe She did. To the left She stretched her neck then to the right before strutting with much urgency into the woods, towards where She had been told to meet the elf.

The interaction was simple; no introductions, only agreements and transactions. She had no coin, but she did speak Sylvainic and so she was able to converse in depth with the elf. And she had with her items more valueable than a sack full of silly, rounded metals. The female knew that others outside her nation valued the violet hued crystalline gems she carried with her. Yes, they were still in the rough and still needed to be separated from the igneous rock but once freed, and properly cut, the elf should be able to afford at least 5 horses of high-quality breeding, including bit, bridle, feed, horseshoes and delivery fees. And knowing this, she not only demanded entry but also exit and a place to hide her gear. Enormous, greedy eyes of the elf was more than an agreement to said terms.

Location: In the City proper, chasing down the reverie scent.

The shaggy 'stray' trotted onward, weaving in and out of the crowd. Oh, but how insipid the scents of the city. Yet even worse was the smell of that which connected the multiple types of people here; fear and worry. Several times the stray had to pause and just breathe. It was hard to keep focus on the task at hand with so many people, unwittingly or not, burdening the stray with such negative spiritual activity. Regardless-- a full bodied shake the 160lbs. canine let out --it needed to continue on and find what it came for.

Traipsing through the city, following along with the lines and lines of people, soon enough the stray found the scent it was looking for. It would know this scent even in its sleep. As it wandered past the crowd, it took pause. Amber eyes lifted up and took in the spectacle that was the church and its grounds. So this is where She, the Wilding was supposed to go to line up for hours upon end to have confirmation that She was a Legend. Humans were to tell the ruler of the Arbremorti that they knew better than She herself that She was a Legend. A leg lifted. As soon as the stray was done 'marking territory' at the church gate, it continued on to find the source of the scent.

And the source was oh, so near. The stray's heart began to race now. Pupils dilated and a small whine it let out. Furred paws went from trot to near sprint. After all this time, after all the distance covered, after resisting all better instincts and entering into this damned city... after all that...

GWEN: The guards tried their best to find Gwen in the crowd. Yet, they weren't able to, since she was saying excuse me and please move out of the way in their normal voice. As a result, those who heard Gwen's actual voice either got in the guards' way, or moved out of the way for Gwen.

The rainy days had finally ended. And so to did the trek from one nation across vast wilderness and into the human led one.

And so now, right there before the stray was the source of the scent it had followed since day one when it had first smelled it in a dream, a reverie. Amber eyes blinked several times in disbelief. All four legs began to tremble, as its body was washed over by radiance unseen to mortal eyes.

The wolfhound blinked one final time, shook out its hide and trotted towards the source of the radiance. Even though there were droves upon droves of folk clogging the way, they seemingly created a berth wide enough to allow the silvery-haired female to pass through. Darting, weaving, and shoving when neccessary, the shaggy wolfhound intercepted the fleeing female and let out a few sharp barks. With eyes bright and shining, a doggy grin pulled up at the corners of its mouth. And even though the hound weighed as much as a normal man and its head easily came to just above a normal man's belly, the look in the dog's eyes was non-threatening. In fact, it bore the look of contentment, accomplishment, and yes, relief.

Lareine had finally found the Light.

Kaius thought the set of armor to be impressive, well taken care of that is for sure. He turned his attention back to the birds that gathered around him. Several of them got into a fight over a crumb. It quickly settled itself and the birds spread back out to wait for more food from the man. He crumbled up the rest of the bread and tossed it up, spreading his hands away from each other so it spread out in a larger area. As he began dusting his hands off onto his trousers, he heard a commotion coming from the church. He pushed a white strand of hair away from his eyes and squinted his eyes, standing on the bench so he could see above the sudden throng of people. What was going on? He saw a very large man facing some guards who looked half of the warriors size.

Kai was about to loose interest until he saw the crowd of people gently moving in a wave light motion, and that same shining armor he saw previously pushing her way through. Strange enough, the crowd seemed to be helping her get away. Another wave in the crowd indicated another body moving through, much more fierce and jagged than the lights movements. He could barely make out a large dog running through. How strange? His curiosity was peaked. The slender man hopped off the bench and trotted his way toward Gwen.

He kept his eyes on her movements, easily finding her, his attention so drawn to her he almost ran into the huge hound that had come to greet her as well. Barely stopping himself on the tips of his toes and an awkward lean forward, he touched the tips of his fingers to the dogs back to stabilize himself so he didn't fall straight over it. "Sorry there bud," he patted the dog on the rump, as they tend to generally enjoy. He had no clue who or what this animal actual was.

He looked at Gwen, "Lets get you out of here!" The sudden urge to help was a confusing one for Kai but he was just rolling with it, his morning had been boring minus his updated blades, which still hung at his hips.

It took a while for Gwen to get through to the crowd, because nobody was aware that Lady Light was running away from the guards. However, she was able to find the opening by asking the people to move out of the way. They got out of the crowd, and planned to make a hard right turn towards the gate. Gwen wanted to go home after what happened in the public church, because they didn't want to be involved in Desara's problems.
What Gwen didn't know was that the guards at the four gates somehow found out what was going on. The reason why they knew about the escaped light was because of a staff member from the public church. The minister asked a specific church member to use their telepathy power to send a message about the light incident towards all of the gate guards. They were told not to let the light leave Desara, and if she exited the kingdom. The order to drag the light back to the kingdom of Desara must happen. Otherwise, the king is going to be angry about losing them if he were to find out about that.

As Gwen made a right turn towards the gate, she ran into a dog, who was just around the corner. In fact, they didn't notice them until it was too late, for they were in a hurry to leave Desara. They knocked poor Gwen to the ground when that happened, but then got herself up upon realizing what they ran into.
She looked at the dog they ran into, and patted their head as an apology. "You deserve a pat on the head, because I apologize for running into you like that." said Gwen, who smiled at the dog. She always wanted to pet a dog's head, since they don't have any dogs in the farming village: Berxley.

A random guy ended up appearing afterwards, and Gwen didn't know why he was there until he said lets get you out of here. "As much as I would appreciate your help during this situation. I have to decline it, because I don't want you to be involved." said Gwen. They said that towards the nice guy, since she didn't want him to be dragged into their mess. 'Please don't say that you are going to help me whether or not I like it. I got myself into this mess, so it would be for the best to not get themselves involved with this crazy situation.' thought Gwen.

While she was thinking about that, someone threw a cloak over her armor. It caused Gwen to become confused, since who would throw their cloak on a stranger.
Even though, Gwen's situation was getting weirder by the minute. She kept the cloak over her armor, because they didn't want to take it off.
Meanwhile, Gust distracted the guards by alerting them to their location, and the distraction got more effective when a thief robbed an innocent woman's purse.

Gust stood there with his towering physique, while a half a dozen guards had all rallied to confront him. He wasn't focused on the knight he had helped with his cloak, only the guards. They were clearly prone to acting irrationally, so Gust took them for amateurs. Only thing now is how he will get out of this mess. He thought for a moment and realized that what he had forgotten is why he was here in this kingdom, which was to aid in the monster threat they faced. "I really messed this one up." He thought to himself scratching the back of his head.

The guards continued to shout at him out of fear of what he might do, but all he had done so far was walking. The only option he seemed to have was to surrender. Just as he was about to however, a foolish thief nabbed a poor woman's purse not far from where the guards stood. These men hesitated however, giving the thief a chance to escape, but he didn't get far when a soldier threw out an open palm to his face. In fact, the thief was now surrounded by a group of rowdy knights from the south. "Well now, looks like we found ourselves a sewer rat!" one voice came from inside the group. The man who struck the thief down lowered his arm, and the one who spoke stepped out from behind. "A thief huh? He sure looks like a rat doesn't he?" They all chuckled. "Hey Captain, catch!" A well polished poleaxe shined in the glimmering sun as it swung overhead. It was careless to throw a weapon into a crowd with so many civilians, but luckily Gust caught it over his head effortlessly. This was to the guard's dismay, as they all flinched at the impressive feat of a now armed giant. They were practically shaking in their boots when one of Gust's knights ran up to him. "Sir, glad to see you made it in one piece. Had any trouble?" Gust looked down at him and smile. "Nope." Then looking over at the rest of his men on the edge of the crowd. They were currently shoving the thief around while scolding him for stealing. They were rowdy indeed, but surviving years of gruesome combat does that to you.

"Yeah, those knuckleheads have been misbehaving like that since we split up yesterday." Gust and his knight watched on as one of them threw the crook in a nasty chokehold. "You think this hold is legend worthy!?" They could hear them laugh in the distance some 15 feet away on the other side of the crowd. "You think that's gonna make you a legend? let me show you how it's done!" said another in the distance. Gust looked back at the knight that stood beside him as he spoke up again. "We heard they were trying to find 'legends' here at this church, so we decided to come check it out. You should come with us." Gust thought for a moment, feeling as though he was forgetting something. He then looked at the guards and remembered. "Y-You stay right where you are!" said one in the middle, who then turned to try and apprehend the thief, if only he could get the boys to stop using him like a chew toy.

Gust banged the rear end of his poleaxe on the ground, and that was all his men needed to stop the horse play and conduct themselves properly. Like the flip of a switch, these uncivilized soldiers became well mannered knights. Gust waved over to get them to come to him, and so they did. "For you my lady." One spoke as they graciously returned the woman's purse to her, before following the rest. Gust's right hand knight spoke up again in order to clear things up with the church guards. "Apologies for our big friend. He's not entirely right in the head. But we have come from the south to help against the monster threat, so we mean no trouble." Gust had already waked towards the church and as did the others. "We'll just be on our way now." He said to the guards, who were trying to find their words of protest, but there was no use. The church guards eased themselves and just stood by. The nine warriors headed up to the church, lead by their former captain, Gust. They ignored the line, simply pushing through, while the people stepped out of the way for the scary looking giant. Some irritated muttering began under bitter warriors' breaths, but the nine knights of the south soon reached the church doors and entered. The sudden marching of metal boots echoed through the main corridor, drawing attention to them immediately. Gust made his up to the clergy member, resting his impressive weapon on his shoulder.

Kai stopped and shrugged. "Suit yourself, but it seems pretty chaotic." Normally he would turn and leave but he felt he should at least stick around and see what happens. There wouldn't be a real commotion like this if something big wasn't happening, after all. The tossed cloak distracted Kai, drawing his attention back to the massive brute now wielding a poleaxe like a plaything. Not only that, he seemed to have soldiers under his command. Easily. Kai watched in amusement as the men scrambled to correct themselves before their leader.

After that he willfully left to go back into the church, the man a skyscraper amongst the crowd in Kai's eyes. He looked back at Gwen, an eyebrow slightly raised. "Perhaps it would be best just to go back in, get it over with, and then you can go... wherever you were going. They can ask and tell you to do whatever they'd like, but they can't stop you from leaving in the dead of night, you know?" Knowing how the guards could be in Desera, it would be a relentless search.

Kai shrugged lazily, glancing back at the church. "I may go there myself just to see what's been going on." As he spoke, he felt a hand firmly grab him by his upper arm and pull. The man let out a squeak of surprise, looking over his shoulder at his aggressor. A guard stood there, alone. "You will be coming into the church, along with that woman there," with his free hand the guard pointed at Gwen. Kai scoffed. "And what gives you the right to force someone to do that? You're a guard. Not a solider, a legend, no one." The uniformed gentleman ignored Kai's comments. "The Minister requests her back in the Church, she is the Light!" Kai's expression tensed, his brows pushed together in thought and an inquisition look stood behind his eyes. He glanced over at Gwen. "Oh? Is that right? Like I said, get it over with." Kai winked at her, referring to what he was saying before he was manhandled, in his opinion despite it being a grab of the arm.

Booty♥Webs~!!
- Lareine of the Arbremorti Nation -

Location: In the City proper, off to the side of the road amidst crowds of people passing them by.

Amber eyes of the hound shone as they wagged their tail in anticipation of what this scented Light being should do next. Another sharp bark was set to report from their mouth, but was stifled as soon as they felt a stranger touch them. The huge stray's mouth snapped close and shaggy body tensed.

KAIUS: "Sorry there bud," he patted the dog on the rump, as they tend to generally enjoy.

A quick glance over their shoulder, a sniff of the air and the tension of the hounds pose slackened slightly. This stranger male did not smell of fear nor excitement, and to make matters slide into a better light, the stranger male's voice was soothing and pleasant. As soon as the stranger male's hand released itself from the dog's hide, the tension of their pose relaxed that much more. Lareine deemed this one as a non-threat especially with the words it spoke next to the being of Light. In this point of time, Reine did not know that the mere presence of the one of Light had a soothing, or even more accurate, magnetic effect upon others.

GWEN. "You deserve a pat on the head, because I apologize for running into you like that." said Gwen, who smiled at the dog.

To put her mind even more at ease, she felt the soft pats upon the dog's head and instantly sidled up to the sivery-headed female. Oh, but that voice... Yes, there was the urge to leap up, place forepaws upon her armoured shoulders and lick away, happy and appreciatively just like a puppy that has not seen their adoptive mother for days. But the urge was squelched as soon as from the corner of her eyes she caught the jerking motion of distant combatants having it out. And so instead, the hound moved into position right beside the Light and sat stolidly by her legs, just like a loyal guard dog, yet tail animated and wagging along with much satisfaction.

The wagging took respite as Reine noted the conversation between the nice stranger male and the Light seemingly about to end with both parties departing from one another. She could understand most of the Outsider language they spoke, albeit broken and with some words such as 'appreciate,' 'chaotic,' and 'situation' needing to be explained to her. But still she got the gist of the conversation and to show her opinion without breaking her 'cover,' the hound simply whined as the nice stranger male took leave from them. Amber eyes shone as they looked up at the Light then once more Reine's attention was alerted to the fracas in the distance.

GUST: "For you my lady." One spoke as they graciously returned the woman's purse to her, before following the rest

Noting the tall male warrior successfully ending the conflict, Reine felt once more at ease and looked towards the Light again. Just like an adopted puppy trying to communicate non-verbally yet to the best of their abilities, the hound chuffed once, twice, then forepaws shuffled anxiously. A single nod they gave up to the Light and tail once more began to wag with anticipation. A deep breath did the hound take and again that stolid pose was resumed, amber eyes set forward and waiting for the armoured female's next move.

If it was not apparent before, then it should be now; this hound was going to follow without err no matter where the silvery-headed female should go. Another nod and the eyes of the hound glinted that scintillating emerald hue of a Legend in wait.
