HAVEN FALLS

NORTH DAKOTA
SMALL TOWN
SLICE OF LIFE
SCROLL!
PLOT
Haven Falls, North Dakota was a little town that known for... absolutely nothing. What was it founded for? Who really knows, because it's not like there's much going on around it. Some think the little town sprouted up to support the farmers in its vicinity, and that seems the most likely.
Despite being the type of town that wouldn't appear on most maps, it's still the most well-known town in its area. Plus, the beautiful Crystal Lake -- which Haven Falls found itself built on the shore of -- was always drawing people to its natural beauty.
Maybe this is why it was originally used to film outtakes of a few TV shows -- and maybe that's why the gentrification started.
As the rich started to pile onto the outskirts of town, it wasn't long before a prestigious, second school opened. The Silver Lake Academy soon earned its own right in the ever-growing town, although its hefty tuition managed to squeeze out the majority of Haven Falls' locals.
Time progressed, and soon, Silver Lake Academy was making a name for itself as a rather prestigious school for the arts -- I know, such a surprise in the middle of North Dakota.
The roleplay will be broken up into seasons with each season being composed of 10-12 skips each. The goal is a long-term roleplay that will allow for character and relationship development to grow and age along with our cast. Think of it like a TV show!
If all this sounds good to you, it's the perfect time to jump in! We have reached our Mid-Season Finale, a New Year's Eve party that was quite the night for more than one reason. The next skip on our calendar is a totally open free skip of the kids getting into their groove of the new year. A great time to introduce some new faces and writers! So come on down to Haven Falls ♥

Haven Falls is a slice of life roleplay primarily focused on high schoolers set in a small town. There are two schools that our cast will come from, the school that's been open since practically the town's inception Haven Falls High School, populated by the, for lack of a better word, more 'average' students and especially the poorer ones. Then there is the much newer, much more expensive and private Silver Lake Academy who's curriculum is focused on the arts.

RULES
NO.1 Literacy. I ask for a minimum of 2-3 paragraphs that are at least 4-5 lines each. Obviously if you can't reach this every time, that's perfectly okay -- it happens, and we all have bad muse, or it's just the kind of interaction that does better with shorter, more rapid-fire responses. That's fine. However this should be the standard to aim for.
NO.2 Due to mature themes featured in the roleplay, we ask that all writers are at least 18 years old. Please read further for more details regarding the kinds of mature themes we allow within the roleplay.
NO.3 This is a realistic roleplay, which means realistic faceclaims are required. This means choosing a faceclaim that is a real person such as an actor, musician, model, or other public figure who is at least 18 years old. This also means no drawn/animated/anime faceclaims, no AI generated faceclaims, etc. There will be more specific character creation rules later on.
NO.4 You will be expected to write at least one post per character every week during an active skip. Of course, real life comes before roleplay and if something comes up there will be flexibility granted within reason.
NO.5 Keep your OOC drama to a minimum. Or better yet, non-existent. If you're feeling uncomfortable or facing issues within the roleplay my DMs are always open, so feel free to message a mod with any concerns.
NO.6 Speaking of reaching out to mods, please run any significant plot points, subplots, or storylines that you might be considering past a mod for approval. This includes pregnancy, major character injury or hospitalization, or other potentially life/story altering incidents. There are other topics that fall under this threshold or are even off-limits, but for ease of reading I will just say if you are unsure in any capacity, it's better to DM a mod to be safe.
NO.7 More specific rules, especially regarding character creation will be available to read on our discord server!
NO.8 Speaking of Discord, we do use Discord for all our OOC conversation as well as other important roleplay updates so if you are not interested in using our server, this might not be the roleplay for you.
