One of my favourite OC's is a socially awkward, shy 18 year old.
I like him because, i'm quite outspoken about my distrust of people who always want to play the shy, awkward, submissivetypes (simply because 99% of them seem to think it means they don't have to contribute anything to the story and they just follow the more dominant character) but I managed to keep his awkward side where he found it hard to socalise but still be interesting by giving him an interesting back story, writing out his thought processes, giving him ambitions and hobbies etc.
I like the fact I wrote a character that is submissive but isn't a doormat and still plays a key role in the story.
