Biography:
Akin to many who acquired superhuman abilities during the golden age of heroes, Dr. Hiram Taylor (as he was then known) had not possessed criminal motivations when first setting along the path that would eventually lead to villainy. At the time he had been a researcher at the Miskatonic University in Massachusetts, his work primarily focused around alterations and enhancements to the human body, as a means of artificial evolution. Those that knew him at the time might have described him as eccentric: a short tempered young man with delusions of grandeur, and an ego the size of the Empire State Building. One of the greatest minds in his field, and well aware of that fact. It was little surprise therefore, when the slow nature of progress upon his own scientific developments only served to anger and frustrate him.

It was such frustration that would eventually lead to delirium, a strong desire for progress irregardless of other costs that brought about self-experimentation. Eventually resulting in the combination of self-mutilation, and disfigurement that would manifest in super human powers for the good doctor. Every bit the clique of the crazed scientific mind.

What actually brought about the shift towards villainy is unknown; perhaps even to Dr. Taylor himself. Most theorise that it was a combination of inflated ego, or perhaps just apathy for following the rules. Maybe he just became a villain because he could. Because for a man of his new abilities it seemed like an easy thing to do. The why is not overly important when compared to the what.

At first: The Stalker: as he was dubbed in the local newspapers, due to his uncanny ability to trace and then mimic his victims began as a traditional threat. A thug who robbed banks, and stole without any real motivations. It was only later, when he would establish a proper MO and establish himself as a real threat.

Quentin Yang was an ice powered superhero who under the alias of ‘The Cryogenic Man’ had long protected the common people of the United States, and it was an encounter with him, and his partner Kimberly Barnes: ‘Captain Inferno’ that really caused the shift that resulted in Dr. Taylor’s change from a regular street thug into a real villain. A nemesis that needed thwarting. A true motivation. A challenge.

It was dynamic that defined the criminal career of The Stalker. That gave him purpose.

When the Cryogenic Man joined the Lords of Order, a fledgling Superhero group, Taylor too joined with The Sentinels, their counterparts in villainy. Whenever Dr. Taylor attempted to cause mischief, and chaos, it was mostly motivated by a desire for attention from his new nemesis. A battle of good and evil. Yin and yang.

But then all that ended.

The age of the hero came to an end.

In the final battle, it was not Dr. Taylor who managed to slay his arch rival. In fact, it was uncertain who ended up finishing off the Cryogenic Man, nor his partner, nor the rest of them. But when the dust settled, it was over regardless.

Taylor did not take such finality very well.

Much like his other teammates within the Sentinels: The Stalker disappeared after that: went into hiding and fled west to hide in eternal obscurity: adopting a new identity and hanging up his villainous ways.

A fate worse than death, as far as he was concerned.

The first few years proved to be occupied mostly with mere wallowing in self pity. He took pretty hard to drinking, and developed a serious addiction to alcohol in an attempt to quash the memories of the past. He was hopeless, aimless and without ambition, the best days of his life left behind him. It was unhealthy, and he drank himself half to death, the eventual reward for his own indulgences being a crash that resulted in his own paralysis from the waste down. Forever crippled by his own idiocy.

He settled down a little after that, stopped drinking as much, and even took a job as a teacher from his friend and former teammate Renaud Horace, he even married and became a father. But he was never happy. Not now.
Powers:
Amorphous Physiology:
- The ability to mold and shift the body into any shape imaginable, essentially giving the user the ability to change form at will; be it full body transformation, or merely the morphing of a single limb or appendage. This can be utilised both in the mimicry of living organisms, such as humans and animals, but also to take the form of inanimate objects, with full use of their functionality. Due to the undefined physiology of the body, the user can also alter both size and girth, as well as possess moderate regenerative capabilities.
Limitations and Weaknesses:
Paralysis (Waste Down):
- Due to an accident suffered as a result of drunk driving, the subject has lost complete functionality of their legs, resulting in limited movement. Attempts to counteract such limitations through the use of superhuman powers have proved ineffectual, and the affected area no longer experiences the benefits of the subject's unique physiology.

- Exceptionally low temperatures prevent the subject from utilising their shape changing capabilities, rendering constructs created from such powers brittle and easy to shatter.

Biography:
Born in a small town in Nepal, Vera and her sister were the only ones in their family to make it out of the country alive at the start of the civil war. They made their way through southeast Asia stealing and scamming just to survive. When Vera's powers kicked in, it seemed to just be pure luck that every projectile thrown landed right where she wanted it to be. At the discovery of this particular skill, she would start going to the local bars and make bets on dart games. This was just enough to put food on the table most days.

Her skills caught the eye of a local Vietnamese gang leader who took Vera and her sister in while using Vera as his personal assassin. Though Vera was only 14 at this time, her success rate made her a force to be reckoned with as well as a prioritized target for the government and other gangs.

Vera would end up escaping Vietnam with her sister to America at age 16 but would go separate ways as Vera continued to do contract killing. At this point, she wasn't doing it for survival, but because she was good at it and had found a thrill of always landing her mark. She found her way working alongside the Sentinels, it was perhaps the first time she's worked with a team.

In the final battle, Vera had overextended her powers losing an eye in the process. When she came too, whoever was still alive faded away, into the shadows. Vera wandered the world, lost with no purpose. For a few years, her powers seemed to have disappeared on her ever since the battle. And once they did return, it was only ever at half capacity. Her days as an assassination were over.

With nowhere else to go, Vera reconnected with her sister who has made a life and family for herself in a small town in Colorado. Vera has since stayed and has been working as a bartender for the last 4 years. It happens to be coincidental that some of her former teammates reside in the same town. But as far as Vera is concerned, her days of killing are over.
Powers:
Precise Strike

Any object that is shot or thrown will land wherever the user dictates in their field of vision. This includes but not limited to, guns, bows, handheld explosives, and knives.
Limitations and Weaknesses:
Eye Strain:

The use of this power in quick and multiple succession in an instance puts a strain on the user's eyes. Severe strain can lead to hemorrhage in that eye. Because Vera has only one working eye, her power is even more limited in how much she's able to use it in succession.

Physical Damage Limitations:

Even if she hits her mark, bullets knives, etc. are susceptible to being blocked. Also useless if another powered user is immune to physical damage.

36 years ago, a boy was born in Munich, Germany on October 31st, at 3:00 AM. Too large for his mother's womb, he had to be cut out, and even then, a heavy rainstorm outside had caused a power outage in the hospital in which Nikolas Von Metzger was born. If there had ever been an omen, such a birth would certainly seem one. Klaus, as he was nicknamed, was raised by his single mother in the small town of Ravensburg, not far from the border where Germany, Austria, and Switzerland met. They lived on a quiet homestead on the outskirts, secluded in a woodland area. Klaus could not say who his father was, for he never asked. He was content. His mother, Anna, was a skilled neurosurgeon, who had provided Klaus not only with tender love, but the basis of himself as a person. Her field of expertise had allowed Klaus to grow up with a hunger for such knowledge that he absorbed voraciously, and her love for art influenced Klaus' own hobbies of reading writing. A caring and supportive mother, who provided a firm life for her child, Nikolas never so much as thought to ask who his father was. And even now, it remains a wholly unimportant topic to him.

The alpine region of Germany was a land dominated by folklore and superstition, and the rising popularity of Halloween in Germany at the time came to cement a place for the terrifying and macabre into the mind of a young Klaus. Halloween itself was a time to celebrate fear. As his birthday, Halloween was even more special to the boy. Sacred, really. And it was treated as such. Klaus had keen interest in thematically appropriate stories in relations to his birthday. Klaus, himself, however, was a shy and timid boy. He rarely spoke, and didn't interact with strangers very much. He had no friends at school, and despite being a model student, he was practically a ghost to everyone else, including the teachers. Easily overlooked. He was, however, quite tall and possessed very fair skin, almost porcelain white in colour. And as quite and reclusive as he was, he was simply avoided by others. But ultimately, he felt nothing for this. Home was kind, and for that, he was content in life.

Not far from Ravensburg was the legendary Black Forest. A vast woodland mountainscape that stretched across lower-west Germany. Klaus and his mother Anna quite often traveled into it, taking long road trips and hikes to explore the more mysterious parts of the region. On Nikolas' 13th birthday, he had visited once more to the Black Forest, though his mother had left him momentarily, in order to deal with some business in at the close-by town of Biberach. The boy was at the site of the ruins of an old castle, one that had seen hundreds of years go by, and witnessed many bloody wars fought from its perch atop a great hill. Within the ruins stood a massive willow tree. the tree itself was surrounded by what seemed to be the remains of a tall gate made from blocks of large and rough stones. And in the midst of the wonderment, came a moment of... static. The moment Klaus had passed the perimeter surrounding the tree, the whispers came, and between the white noise that obscured everything after, only memories of scarping his hand on the bark, and smearing the tree with his own blood remained. When Klaus came to, he was lost. The middle of the woods. The middle of the night. Nothing but the moon was there to guide him. So he followed the moon.

When he was found, change came into his life not unlike a storm.

Several years after the incident, Nikolas moved with his mother to the US, and settled in Portland, Maine, living on Peaks Island. Here, Nikolas formed a love for the ocean. He spent some night simply watching the lighthouses in the distance from his home. But, for the most part, these were excuses. In those years, Klaus was plagued by nightmares. As time went on, Nikolas became used to them, but they never truly waned. Medication only helped him stay asleep. But he was still tired. Constantly so. But at least, the sound of the sea often rocked him to sleep, and gently led him into his far less pleasant dreams. Time, as it often did, passed. Klaus changed over time, certainly. Growing all the more taller, and all the more paler. Eventually came his time in college. Following not too far, yet not too close to his mother's footsteps, he majored in Psychology, and minored in Anatomy & Physiology. Originally, Klaus had hoped of getting into the field of being an author.

Any hope of a kind life in the future seemed swept away. It was said that lightning had struck the house on fire. His mother... trapped inside. In hindsight, it all seemed cliche. But perhaps there was a reason why the cliche offered such consistent results. Years ago, Klaus might have said this to be the point of where things began. The origin point. But, obviously, this is just the second part of the story. To say his mother's death was the start of his path to villainy would be just as remiss to the truth. Perhaps it was his time more alone than he had ever been, living in the college dorm that had become his new home. Perhaps it was his grief. But it seemed like there was nothing left for him.

And the light flickered. And broke.

In a park at night, not far from the college, a child lay on a cold, steel bench. In a park at night, under the pale glow of a moon, Nikolas Von Metzger approached. Another story. An abusive father. A mother who let him do as he pleased, just as much an accomplice as a victim. And as the moon grew in size, a dead man decorated a construction site like a figurine of an angel, and a quiet woman walked the park with her daughter. Every few moons, it all seemed to be the same story, over and over. No real important differences. And it wasn't just for others. It was for himself. There was grief. And there was hunger. Klaus had never been quieter than when discussing exactly how he became a villain. But while Nikolas Von Metzger studied and worked, something else and yet the same stalked the night. Eventually, certain kinds of people would start checking their closet, or perhaps under their bed for a shadowy figure. They called him the Boogeyman. It was always at night. A tall figure followed children home, and the parents were revealed for their ugliness. He showed these people their fear by tearing into others like them. Plenty of times, he made art of it.

The boogeyman. Back in Germany, this figure was particularly ghostly in appearance. A figure clad in a white sheet, like a Halloween decoration that was far more uncanny than it had to be. Klaus had his own boogeyman, though. But he became his own nightmares. It wasn't long before the white mask had seeped into local day to day life. Newspapers had pictures of artists' renderings. Occasionally one would find graffiti. "Beware the Boogeyman." And because his nightmares seeped out from himself, the Boogeyman could always, always, disappear without so much as a hint of who he was. And he was feared. All the while, the quiet and meek Nikolas Von Metzger had even obtained his doctoral degrees in psychology and anatomy & physiology. After he was satisfied with his education, the Boogeyman made his entrance into the wider world of villainy.

New York City. Truly a cluster of connectivity to the greater world at large. Who would have expected a news channel to be so easily hijacked? Of course, the Boogeyman couldn't take all the credit. He only inspired fear into the man who did the deed for him, before brutally murdering him live on television. A sound like a film projector slowed down, and organ music played backwards, accompanied the otherwise silent announcement as words flickered.

Every moonlit night resulted in someone dead. A wealthy businessman who had turned a local business into a parking lot one too many times. A police chief who bullied his wife. An socialite who had misappropriated charity funds simply to buy herself a new pool. And even the news executive who had left out all the abusive parents in the lower classes. Was it a statement being made? Not really. It was a culling, more than anything. And a performance for the self-satisfaction besides. At least, that's all that seemed there could be. There had always been more complicated workings to things that no one else could figure out. Reasons that could not be properly seen. But perhaps, one may find those out at a later time.

As all agents of evil must come to confront, heroes flocked to the sound of someone who could not so simply be caught, like flies to a rotting corpse.

The Presence
'Blinking' - Short range teleportation with a range limit of approximately ten meters / thirty feet. Has the strange requirement of being unseen by others, be it out of their view, or by obscurance, both before and after. Failed attempts simply cause him to 'bounce' back to where he tried to teleport from, but this only the result if he is visible from the other end.
Electrical interference - Can cause electronics to malfunction. Notable example: Light begin to dim and flicker prior to either ceasing to function or to overload.
'Whispering' - Pseudo-control of small animals, primarily creatures considered with negative connotations [i.e. rats, insects, spiders, crows]; Cannot control specific movements, but can exchange information. Animals under Nikolas' influence can act as agents, typically spying or delivering messages, but can inflict harm as they naturally could.

Limitations and Weaknesses
Despite his intimidating size, Nikolas' powers are far too niche and lack any notable capabilities in terms of fighting. His ability to interfere with electronics is not fully controllable, and cannot interfere with electronics in any other way than causing their power to malfunction. Whispering only influences small creatures that can easily be killed. Blinking requires total lack of visibility, and as such, offensive capabilities are firmly limited in congruency with the targets ability to see Nikolas. There are also certain situations in which 'The Presence' can be completely, albeit temporarily, nullified, in which Nikolas loses all abilities for that time. This has direct congruency with the sun, and culminates with its intensity and brightness. Cloudless summer days when the sun is highest in the sky are days when Nikolas has no access to his abilities. During these days, his abilities are significantly weakened during the rest of daylight, until the sun goes down. Unfortunately, Nikolas' abilities do not ever get stronger than they currently are.

Skills
High Intelligence - Particularly gifted in the realm of psychology, Nikolas' intelligence offers him more success with his niche abilities than those with less creativity might have. He excels in intimidation and manipulation, and uses his powers to support these strategies.
Anatomical Skill - Nikolas has acute knowledge of the human body. He knows how to cut into it to both cause and prevent pain, and typically uses this knowledge to his advantage when he gets his hands dirty.
Speech - Despite his agoraphobic tendencies, Nikolas is excellent at delivering monologues, either to persuade or simply to lecture. He gets the point across with elegance. This was especially notable during his days as a villain.

Biography:

An only child to a military family, Tabitha from an early age on was in a constant state of packing, unpacking and repacking her things. Crisscrossing the globe back and forth isn't conducive to a healthy social life, even in the modern age of communication, so Tabby never managed to find herself a real sort of friend.

Reclusive up until around her twelfth birthday, the relationships she managed to form were heavily one sided. Tabby, just happy to have someone sort of close, would give her all in a servant role to whoever had enough gumption to tell her what to do. A trend that would continue for some time until the person that started telling her what to do became less of a friend and more of a mastermind.

Even to this day, Tabby swears she had no clue the identity of the now deceased ‘super villain’ that went by the name ‘Sykke’

Sykke to her, was simply Trevor Burroughs. Trevor was a friend, a confidant, a crush. He was even her date to their prom back in high school. For years their relationship was maintained and all the while, Sykke was razing the east coast financial scenes. Tabitha thought he was just a successful investment banker and it stayed that way until a drunken night of confession when Tabitha revealed her own abilities...

Fast forward and Sykke was now bolder than ever, when threatened he called upon the monstrous Titan that heeded his call. Keeping mobile and with Tabby in a state of willing and unwilling delusion, the duo were a considerable threat.

Until a well placed shot from a rifle ended the life of Sykke and Tabitha was broken free from the spell. Going Berserk, she was set upon by several heroes and driven into the sea. Diving under, she vanished deep into the ocean and the Titan hasn’t been seen since.

Only vaguely aware of the damage and destruction she caused during her time as Titan, Tabitha resides in obscurity. Heartbroken by the betrayal of her love and distraught at how easily she was manipulated, Tabitha distances herself from nearly everyone and pours her life into her work, happy to remain out of the spot light and in control of herself.
Powers:

Growth
Tabitha can rapidly grow to enormous sizes, her strength and resilience scaling up with her size. Naturally tall, she can reach up to 200' tall with concentration. The upper limits of her height are as of yet unknown but she can function comfortably in the 50'-75' range. Her strength scales with her size, retaining the same level of strength and dexterity as a normal year 30 old woman but in monstrous proportion. Metal bends, concrete buckles, and the world is sundered. Her resistance to things is also increased with her size, skin becoming nigh bullet proof and bones unable to be broken by physical force.
- Strength
  Scaling with her height, her strength increases as she grows. Still following her her normal musculature, she isn't gaining muscle just altering the scale of it. A steel I beam at normal size is nigh indestructible but being over 100' tall she can snap it like a toothpick.
- Invulnerability
  As she grows, her skin and bones grow with her. Thickening and hardening to incredible densities that prevent her from being injured by normal things. Bullets fail to pierce her skin, much like particles of dust fail to pierce normal skin. Her bones capable of withstanding tons of force now projected on her massive frame.
- Berserk When stuck in her enlarged form or when hit with enough serious damage, a berserk state is triggered wherein strength, agility, aggression, and anger are all amplified tenfold. The longer this state continues, the harder it is to revert from. When ended, this exertion is incredibly damaging to Tabitha and the strain will easily put her into a comatose state while she recovers.
Limitations and Weaknesses:
- Effort: Beyond her comfortable height, Tabitha has to exert constant
  effort to maintain her growth. The effort is a combination of mental and physical, the mental being
  the strain of her height and the physical directly proportional to her cardiovascular capability.
- Audio: As she increases in size, it becomes harder and harder to communicate with
  those in the normal spectrum. She can't hear individuals talking and multiples yelling is just
  white noise. At the same end, her voice is thunderous and booming when grown, capable of hurting people
  just by raising her voice.
- Mental: As she strains past comfortable levels, the mental stress on her mind takes
  a toll. At increased heights and prolonged strains, Tabitha grows extremely susceptible to suggestion and

Biography: Born in the slums of then-Bombay, Emir Balakrishnan was forced to grow up on the streets after being orphaned at a young age. While the rich dined in their fancy towers in the distance, he had to live in a dog-eat-dog world where the tiniest scraps of bread were fought and sometimes killed over. A fire was spreading in the hearts of the poverty-stricken youth; and Emir intended to pour gasoline. It would come in the form of a ragtag gang, led by him and his childhood friends, Vinaya Chauhan and Dawood Khurana. Proficient in Aquakinesis, Emir's gang gradually built up as he promised free water for everyone who joined. With the help of Vinaya and Dawood, the gang would idolize the 18-year-old Emir as the hero of the slums.

In his 20s, Emir fell in love with a middle-class woman named Neha and eventually married. Despite how she openly expressed her distaste for her husband's gang of thugs and anarchists, Emir never cut off the group from his life. He could have lived a normal, merry life, had he chosen her over his savior-like position. He wanted to deliver on his promises of revenge, holding rallies in the gang that fueled their passionate flames. Six years later, left his wife alone in their house, not even saying goodbye. This was the last time in around a decade they'd see each other.

Emir and his gang got out of Mumbai and ended up roaming the Asian continent. Using their unwavering loyalty, Emir convinced them to start what would be one of the most violent modern-day pirate crews in history. Armed to the teeth with guns, they raided their first commercial ship in the South China Sea, stealing transported fuel in highly coordinated hits and selling it on the black market. Emir would use his Aquakinesis to speed his fleet through the ocean, even blasting crew members on board using a geyser-like burst of water.

His most infamous raid earned him the alias of the Maelstrom, where after hijacking a commercial ship and slaughtering the innocent crew, a small fleet of Chinese navy ships had made their appearance. Emir asked his peers to provide cover fire as he stood at the bow, slowly starting a series of hand motions. As bullets whistled past him, he focused on the ocean. A whirl had appeared in the center of the navy fleet, and it was growing. Before the ships could realize what was happening and make their escape, the maelstrom had grown massively. The ships were swallowed up, toppled over and sunken. He passed out, and the whirlpool stopped. As the Maelstrom and his crew sailed by, they laughed and shot at the swimming crew members. This attack grounded his legacy in the Mumbai slums as a controversial hero, and as one of the most wanted criminals internationally.

Each new raid forced him to find new waters, find new partners, relocate to another abandoned island. On top of that, the legend forged by the pirates who retired from raiding added more pressure than ever and gripped his crew in such a way that they began acting more carelessly, adopting more loose tactics and, to some extent, chose more daring targets. They were, after all, with the renowned Maelstrom.

Once, when Emir returned to his home in Mumbai after a decade, he received a hero's welcome. It was a momentary break for the crew, and a chance for the Maelstrom to reunite with his wife. But what knocked on her door was not the ambitious, honorable man she married. It was a corrupted monster with the blood of hundreds of innocents on his hand. She gave him a firm message: "Emir Balakrishnan died years ago. All that's left is 'the Maelstrom'!" Emir would remain silent, unable to find it in him to deny her accusation. The pirate crew left Mumbai more bitter than before.

But as the time of heroes was ending, the era of the Maelstrom would, too, meet its demise.

The final raid took place on board the Hamsun Oil Freighter. Someone had ratted out the Maelstrom's next move, and what awaited them on the ship was a capable security force and their heroes. Despite their preparedness, Emir refused to let everything he worked for crash down. A firefight between his crew and the security force broke out; Emir took on the heroes by himself. But no matter how hard the crew fought, the numbers were simply too overwhelming. In an act of desperation, Emir sent some of his crew members below deck and ordered them to light the ship's cargo on fire. The cargo of the Hamsun Oil Freighter was of course, none other than oil. Emir heard and recognized each yell of his remaining allies and childhood friends as they died in the blink of an eye. Soon, the special forces would turn their sight on him, and the heroes' constant assault continued piling onto the pirate captain.

But as his foes broke through the water he put up for defense, reaching the exhausted Maelstrom, the ship erupted into flames.

In the end, 18 of the 20 pirates lost their lives, 10 of which remain unidentified; most of the heroes were killed in the ferocious battle against the Maelstrom, and the remaining were abandoned and left to die as the freighter burned and sank. Only a few special force soldiers lived to tell the tale. The Maelstrom has never re-surged since, and he was announced dead on national television, his crew declared dissolved.

In reality, he and his original friends, Vinaya Chauhan and Dawood Khurana, had escaped. They arrvied back in Mumbai weeks after the disastrous raid. While Vinaya's mental state deteriorated into a delusion of herself as "Queen of the Slums" and Dawood took to spinning Bollywood films off his adventures with the Maelstrom, usurping The Maelstrom's legacy for profits, Emir never reunited with Neha. He was too ashamed; broken by the slaughter at the freighter. He couldn't bring himself to learn what she's done with the apparent news, to see if she was glad he was "dead" or if she was horribly grieving. The relationship between Vinaya and Dawood soured, and soon the slums of Mumbai was divided into two gang territories, leading to dozens of innocents' deaths. Deep inside, Emir knew that his actions led to everything turning out this way.

He wanted to run from his past; to forego all the blood he's spilled and his unsavory lust for power. Going under dozens of new identities, Emir immigrated across the world, eventually landing in Glasshill, Colorado, where he'd live somewhat peacefully as a vagabond for the following years to come.

Aquakinesis

Emir is able to shape and manipulate water. Given time, he can take control of enormous bodies of water. In his prime, he could sink whole fleets in an enormous maelstrom. He controls water through hand movements.

Limitations and Weaknesses:

Range: The max range at which Emir can control water is He can't control it at all if something cuts off his line of sight. For example, if a door is suddenly shut between him and the source, then he loses his grasp and the water falls to the ground.
Time: Before his power is fully active, Emir has to perform specific hand movements that take around three seconds. The farther and bigger the body of water is, the longer it'll take for him to fully control it.
Concentration: The more water he controls, the more Emir has to focus on it, leaving him to block out surrounding events and leaving him vulnerable.
Stamina: The more and longer he uses his power, the more exhausted he'll get by the end. Too much, and he'll pass out.

Biography: If he had to say where his story began, he supposes that it all started with Deirdre ferch Eoin. That was the name of the woman, the witch, who had made him this way.
She had been a druid of Logres, and he a thane of Northumbria. Given their time and positions, it seemed like fate for them to meet on the battlefield - at least it did now, looking back on it. How could it have been anything but fate? Caedda didn't believe in chance. He had seen far too much to believe in something so arbitrary.
There had been a battle. He no longer remembered the details, but he remembered driving his sword into the old woman's chest, and how she had lifted her hand and bade that he never be gifted with the same release of death. At the time, it was simply the words of a raving woman, but as the years passed, it became apparent that it was much more than that.

It was a curse. He supposes it still is a curse, though it ceased feeling like one long ago, if only because he had stopped feeling. Ages passed. Milestones were crossed here and there, but what they were and when, Ceadda could no longer tell you. He remembers some things, mostly terrible times. Witch trials come to mind. The big wars - especially the ones people claimed would be the war to end all wars. Though he has to say, most of those memories are hazy at best. All he really knows is what has been constant: youth, suspicion, distrust, outcast - and to never trust anyone with the last name Owen.

Even to this day, they hound him, the grudge so old that he had thought certainly they would forget, but a Welshman's memory is long. When several members of the Owen family, now and again, surfaced with their own powers to become superheroes, they already had a supervillain built-in that they were set against. It made quite a story, through the ages. Good triumphing over evil. A defeated immortal left to disappear into the pages of history books until he resurfaced again. Some claimed the Beowulf that haunted the British Isles could not possibly be the same man from 700 AD. The Owen family always knew better, of course. And yet, though they fought for centuries... they always left him alive.

Caedda still isn't sure why. But when he came out of the conflict ten years ago with only new scars, he was hardly surprised. It wasn't though he was immortal - in fact, he was quite certain he could be killed, even if he lacked the courage to test the theory for himself. But Beowulf always seemed to get through everything alive.

But that's skipping quite a bit in the middle there, isn't it? After all, he wasn't always Beowulf. And how he got there to begin with is quite the interesting tale.

It didn't happen quickly. It wasn't as though he woke up one day with fantastic powers that altered the fabric of reality. No, like the curse itself, everything came to him slowly, piece by piece, like drips of water filling a bucket. And each drop that came to his seemed to be one of torment. Cast out of his family, accused of making a pact with the devil. Threatened with burning alive multiple times, and barely managing to escape each time. Some were closer calls than others, and he has the scars to prove it. Never getting the chance to settle down anywhere for more than a few years, never having the opportunity to form relationships, always on the run from something impossibly bigger than himself... it was not long before he ceased to feel like he would find anywhere he could possibly belong. For years, he strove to find that place or that thing that would make him fit into the world, though he realizes now that it was a fool's errand.

Perhaps, though, the most scarring turn his life took was in the Second World War. The era of experimentation, of super soldiers, of global communication, of occultism and mysticism and delving the void for secrets beyond the ordinary mortal. The era of that damn dictator whose name Ceadda still refuses to speak.
And what was he to do, when the wrong people found out that he had the secret of life everlasting?

It was torture. He had long ago lost the conception of time, but it felt like an eternity in that secret lab. Having people cut him open and watch on in awe as his body put itself back together. Being conscious as his eye was pulled out and left on a table for hours and hours and hours until a replacement grew in. He remembered blood. He remembered chains. He remembered the rats that crawled across the floor! And for the first time in his long, oftentimes sad life, he remembered a name that did not end in 'Owen.'

He supposed eventually, enough just happened that the bucket filled up, and something had to spill out. That something was Beowulf.

When the war ended and he had his freedom again, there was only one thing in his mind that he could do. The world was wrong. Fundamentally, inherently wrong. Humanity was flawed, hateful, cruel, and wrong. What it needed was a new leader. A king, someone who had lived long enough to see the mistakes that kept repeating themselves over and over and over again and the pain that these mistakes caused humanity. Ceadda, of course, does not fancy himself a villain. But when someone is seeking to take over the world, even for its betterment, they are rarely seen as good, aren't they?

He took the name of a king. He took the mantle of an ancient ruler and adopted it to suit his own goals. There were, naturally, those that opposed him. The Owens, for one, who had never forgotten their age old grudge. Those who said he was a tyrant, always had been even to the druids ages ago, and that only in freedom could humanity find its way forward.
They are wrong, of course. Humans are far too stupid to choose their own path. That has been proven time and time again, and Ceadda has been there to see it for himself. He knows that he is destined to rule, to right the wrongs of humanity... but he is not stupid enough to believe it is something he can do on his own.
That is where the Sentinels come in. His allies, people who, though not always sharing his ideals, have the power to further his goals. Ceadda is more than content to play the long game... after all, he has all the time in the world. This latest falling of heroes and villains is only a temporary setback. He's sure his time will come.
Powers:
Unaging
Quite simply, Cedar was cursed with eternity. As a young man, he crossed a druid who placed a curse of unaging upon his body, and the ancient, powerful magic has held strong for over a millennia. Some think that he has a secondary power of being a super-genius, but this is simply not the case - his intellect and skill is merely the result of over a thousand years of practice and learning.

Supernatural Healing
Part of Cedar's curse, which many would consider the "good" half of such a thing, is his resistance to being wounded. Though by no means immortal, Cedar's body has the incredible ability to stitch itself back together after even the most horrible of wounds - though this mending is not entirely perfect. He is left with scars at the very least, and in the case of his left eye, a permanent blindness.

Limitations and Weaknesses:
Recognition
Obviously, having an unchanging face is a weakness in itself. Most villains have time to construct their identities and keep their private life secret, but Cedar does not have such a luxury. Before the invention of photographs and other imaging systems, it was much easier for him to pass from place to place and make new identities each time, but in the modern age this has become much more difficult.

Forgetfulness
Though it's true Cedar has had quite a long time to learn many skills and languages, other more mundane memories escape his mind easily. The human brain was not built to last forever, and so certain things have faded with time - one of the most pronounced things being empathy. Though Cedar firmly believes, having lived so long, that he knows what is best for human society, he has lost quite a bit of what it means to be human.

Biography:
Alyx is a painter for many reasons. He paints to make money, but he also paints to soothe. He paints his reoccurring nightmares as a constant reminder of what is real and what isn’t. He paints to keep a tight grip on reality. And he medicates. A shot in his stomach and a pill or two a day mellows him out. If he gets too emotionally worked up, he starts to vividly hallucinate, and his own powers will work against him. It’s a dangerous thing, as his powers create mental projections that are experienced with all senses. But as long as he stays aware of what’s real and what isn’t, he will be okay. It’s the constant checking that keeps him slightly paranoid. He can’t even trust his own thoughts. It’s exhausting. He tries to sleep, but he’s terrified of waking up to a dream that he can’t escape.

He’s resorted to trying to reprogram his thoughts. He focuses a lot on his daughter, Justice. She brings him happy thoughts and helps to settle him. A FaceTime call from her, back in Michigan, can set him up to have a good day most of the time. After those calls, if he starts to see things, its usually visions of her dancing around his house. He doesn’t mind those as much.

On the contrary, he had to up his medication dosage due to frequent demented visions from his past and the parents that rejected him; the grandparents who did more harm than good trying to ‘save him’ from himself.

A spot in the Sentinels was the first time he felt ‘seen’ and praised for his gifts. His maternal grandparents did the best the could with what they had. But they’d forced him to suppress his powers through strict discipline and religion, beating on him any time he did anything out of the ordinary. As soon as he turned 18, he was out of their house, fending for himself.

And things were hard… until he stumbled upon the true value of what he could do; use his telepathy to survive.

He started with petty crimes, like making local markets believe they were being held up. Alyx, named Joseph at birth, would stand in the store with his hands raised, pretending to also be afraid of the armed robbery he was projecting across the minds of the clerk and other shoppers. Then, he’d have the robber run out of the store and meet him in the alley with the loot. It was a foolproof way of life.

A spot in the Sentinels helped him to step his game up. He didn’t have to worry about much, and it felt good to finally have control…

…Control that was taken away during that final battle ten years ago. In the fight, he took a pretty hard blow to the head. He can’t quite remember how it all went down due to the nature of his injuries. Everything is still scrambled for him, and he can’t seem to decipher what really happened versus what he hallucinated.

The memory that rings clearest for him though is a few weeks later, waking up to his girlfriend, Shannon, cowering in the corner of their bedroom with their newborn child wrapped in her arms. A grotesque, monstrous creature, from his own imagination, hovered over them, and Shannon let out a wail of a scream that still gives him chills when he thinks about it. That’s when he knew something was wrong, and he had lost control of his gifts. His powers began to manifest at the most inappropriate times, and they threatened to harm him and his family. They also threatened to ‘out’ him as a threat to society. He couldn’t risk being found out after the massacre that had just taken place.

In the middle of the night, he made the impulsive decision to follow some of his peers to Glasshill, Colorado with nothing but the clothes on his back, leaving his girlfriend and daughter behind.

He currently finds himself trying to pick up the pieces of what he left behind and to get a handle on is powers again. He’s remained in contact with his daughter, but he rarely gets to see her. He and his ex have an agreement that he can have longer and more frequent visits with her once he gets his ‘condition’ under control.

His hope is that he can create some semblance of a normal life.
Powers:
Telepathic Projection/Manipulation:
Alyx has the ability to telepathically alter a person's perception of reality, projecting before them whatever horrific creatures, worlds, visions, memories, etc. that he wants. Victims can experience Alyx's hallucinations with all of their senses. They are able to physically feel, see, smell, taste, and hear whatever he projects.

Limitations and Weaknesses: Some minds are harder to crack. The more the person believes in the hallucination they are seeing, the easier it is for them to be physically effected by it. If the person maintains a certain level of awareness that they are in an altered state of mind, then they cannot be harmed or physically touched by the projection. For instance, if they believe a projected monster is really there, when the monster goes to punch, they will physically feel the punch. On the contrary, if they are unaware that the monster is a hallucination, they will NOT feel the punch. Alyx's powers work best on the simple minded.

In the final battle, Alyx took a major blow to the head that caused his abilities to malfunction. Now he has to daily medicate to keep his powers from overtaking him. Without the medication, he vividly hallucinates and struggles to decipher what is reality. His powers have ironically become his greatest weakness. Some of his worst nightmares meet him at the foot of his bed in the morning. He must maintain a certain level of emotional balance to keep from having a psychotic break. There are nights he finds it hard to sleep, in fear that he will wake up inside of a hallucination.

Biography:
Living an impoverished child hood Isabella managed to balance multiple side jobs during her education to support her parents and brother. The jobs would develop into using her powers in search of items, people, and the like. This continued into the Golden Age of Heroes where her odd jobs became her primary job being hired by multiple clientele from the police to organized crime. Her path to villainy was fueled by greed, more so to bring financial surplus for herself and family.

This eventually lead her to find permanent employment with the Sentinals who offered a multitude of services in crime activities which would give her a decent pay out. Upon joining the Sentinals her intentions were solely for money but it slowly developed into a bond of loyalty with her companions to the point of helping in the fight against heroes.

During the final battle between the heroes and villains Isabella suffered a major backlash from a hero and slipped into a coma for many months and when awoken slipped away under the radar. The experience left her lost and haunted from using her powers openly or providing it as a service. Like many of her teammates she came in contact with them and moved to Glasshill, Colorado to start a new life. [/font

Seeking Sight:

The ability to 'see' the location and have a traction towards the entity. Like a psychic bloodhound, this power hunts for a specific entity near to their physical location. The more familiar they are with the exact entity, the easier this will be. However, for precise tracking and seeking a multitude amount of clues varying from the five senses. (Ex: Is seeking out the keys to a locked room, after remote viewing the shape of the lock. Or is shown a picture of a person and is able to track the person.)

Limitations and Weaknesses:
Mental Backfire:

While using Seeking Sight there is an immense possibility for a psychic backlash from its usage. There are some certain scenarios where the user will suffer damages such as precautions set up by the entity to prevent the tracking, an overwhelming distance from the user, or simply better mental tenacity to the psychic powers.

Haunted:

One of the missions assigned to Claire prior to the final battle was to keep track of the heros' movements and anticipate their actions right before. However, the heros took precautionary measures which she suffered a major backlash and a telepathic assault from a unnamed hero causing her to go into a coma. Ever since then Claire has been extremely hesitant in using her powers.

Heightened Senses:

Being a brainiac Claire has a subtle third eye which increases her sensitivity to her senses. Specifically towards those staring too long or a bad omen causing her stomach to churn. However, this skill has lead to increased paranoia and spontaneous feelings.

Trained Body:

Having been born with the ability, Claire has done her fair share of training both her mental and physical endurance for prolonged skill usage and the drain on her body. Though it has been nearly a decade since the final battle, she continues to keep herself in shape.

- Bry saw Doctor Disaster as a mentor, a father figure and eventually a peer. He never condescended to her when she was a skinny 18 year old punk on the streets and he never saw her ability as lacking the 'punch' other people's powers had. It was inevitable that she loved him. They'd even shared a bed, for a few years, until they'd drifted apart. Maybe it was the constant danger of their work. Maybe the intimacy got in the way of her 'hero worship'. Or maybe she was just a headache to be around, so many memories and so many relationships stuffed into her head.
  
  Renaud was the one who told her about Glasshill, though. And in the last nine years, he came over to her house for dinner once a month and they caught up on old times. And new. He'd become the closest thing she had to a father, now that the heat of their chemistry had burned down to embers. And until the day he died, she'd have gone back to the Sentinels in a second if he'd just said that he needed her.
- Hiram Taylor didn't make the best first impression when the Stalker joined the Sentinels. Bry had already been with the team a few years and was fully at the top of her game. He was dismissive of a girl who hadn't graduated high school and only cared about beating his rival, Quentin Yang. He changed his tune once he learned how useful she could be in researching and tracking others, though, and Bry gradually got over her lingering bias because Dr. Taylor ended up being one of the few she could have an intelligent conversation with.
  
  They had a cordial, professional relationship but Bry never felt like she was anything more than a prop or someone to be used in his world. At least he wasn't malicious about it; other people just didn't really exist to Hiram outside of his obsessions. And when the team fell apart, Bry didn't really expect to ever see him again.
  
  When he turned up in Glassville, an alcoholic paraplegic, she was...both sympathetic and unsurprised. Seeing 'Quentin Kimberly' settle down with a wife and start a family? A genuine surprise and a pleasant one. Bry made a point of getting to know them as a couple, even helped out with babysitting Zoey when their little girl was born. She considers Cynthia a close, personal friend and they both belong to an embrodiery club that meets weekly.
  
  Bry still has no idea, exactly, where she stands in Quentin's world nor does she expect to ever know. But he's a Sentinel and her promise to Renaud was to care for them like family...and so Quentin's got her, whenever he needs an errand, something researched, a ride somewhere, she's there.
- Bry took a shine to Vera when the teenager joined the team, because she'd been a teenager when Renaud recruited her. Vera was also a source of skills; someone to learn languages from, someone to practice several martial arts with/against, someone she could make better, someone who could push Bry to be better herself. It became obvious early on that Vera had a talent for fighting, sneaking and killing that Bry could never match but she took some personal satisfaction that trying pushed the young assassin to be even better than she'd have been otherwise.
  
  After the Sentinels disbanded, Bry kept an eye out for Vera as the girl wandered the world. Occasionally, she even picked up a trace. But she didn't really expect to see her again until 4 years ago when Bry went into her favorite bar and found Vera behind the counter. Vera didn't seem keen on reconnecting with her old colleagues so Bry mostly respected that and left her alone but made sure to leave a business card with her number. Any time Vera needed something, someone investigated, intel, anything, Bry delivered. Because that's what you do for family.

- Another teenager who joined up with the Sentinels? Was she in the Sentinels? Was her boyfriend?
- Not a Sentinel, but not far from it. The pirate lord Maelstrom was a legend whose star ascended around the same time her team did. He was a 'colleague' in a related venture and a source of black market goods and materials the Sentinels could use. Naturally, that meant the two talked as Effigy was the Sentinel's procurement expert and fencer.
  
  She liked him. For a bloodthirsty pirate, he had a focus and presence she both admired and found relaxing. He stood by his deals with her, which made him trustworthy. When his organization fell apart near the same time hers did, Bry noticed and spared a moment in her grief to mourn him and his as well.
  
  Seeing him turn up as a vagabond in Glasshill, though, was unexpected. Bry gave it a couple of months to see where he'd land but Emir was a wreck of himself. Finally, one of herselves approached him with a business card and an offer; turn up for work and EF Construction and Design would put him to work. And for the last three years, she's given him a hammer and nails for framing, a sledge for knocking out drywall on remodles, and all the opportunity he needs to work out his demons with hard physical labor. And Emir's likewise had ample opportunity to get to know Bry, since a dozen or two of herselves are the rest of the 'crew' for construction gigs. And if he happens to get attached to one of herselves, well, Bry's got no objection to that at all. Sometimes the only ones who can understand what it is to lose everything is someone who's lost everything.
- One of the few who'd been with the Sentinels longer. One of the few she still feels like a kid around, even though they're coming dangerously close to looking like he could be her son. When she was new to the team, new to her powers, one of herselves watched him, learned from him, talked to him about what he'd seen and experienced and knew, any chance she got. To whatever extent he was willing, Bry proved an eager student for learning any skill he cared to demonstrate. Be it martial arts, swordsmanship, history, language, Bry drank it all up like a sponge with infinite capacity.
  
  There was a time they were lovers as well. Around the middle of their team's tenure. At first, because he was experienced and wise and the most interesting man alive, and he was willing. A few months later, once the rose-tinted glasses came off, she realized he didn't feel anything for her and she broke it off angrily. A few months after that, Bry listened to him remark about human longevity and came to realize that he was probably incapable of forming normal attachments because he would inevitably outlive them. And a year later, they developed an entirely casual booty-call relationship which persisted more or less until the team broke up.
  
  Cedar's one of the few who kept in touch with her, rather than the other way around. Mostly because of her ability to create false IDs and life stories for anyone who needed them. She expected him to be a long-distance Christmas card friend for the rest of her life but seeing him turn up in Glasshill, Montana was a surprise. They never quite recaptured their old chemistry, though, and the passage of years have made Bry all too aware of the emotional implications of knowing an immortal while aging herself. He has a standing invitation to a dinner at her house every month, plus holidays, and they remain cordial despite having drifted in different directions...at least for now.
- As with most recruits to the Sentinels, Bry worked with Alyx to cover up his past and kill any leads that could connect the police and superheroes to him and Sentinel activities. She took an initial liking to Alyx, at least until she asked him to project another reality for one of herselves. When Bry reintegrated physically, she struggled to reintegrate her conflicting memories and the effort finally made her pass out.
  
  That was the last time Alyx ever saw more than one of Bry again. Their time as teammates passed with quiet respect and support, with Bry being his 'eye in the sky' as she was for all Sentinels. They weren't otherwise particualrly close as teammates until after the team fell apart.
  
  As with any Sentinel who asked for it, Bry set him up with a new ID, work and credit history, whatever he needed. That might have been it, if not for her finally seeing his artwork. Bry loved his compositions, his imagination and felt the struggle captured in on the canvas. After all, Alyx's struggle with what was real wasn't too dissimilar from her own struggles to know who she was.
  
  Over the past years, she's helped him out with groceries and errands when it's obvious he needed it. During the really bad times, one of herselves did what she could to keep him alive and safe. And gradually one of her just ended up moving in, essentially serving as a full-time housekeeper, caregiver and organizer for the struggling, disorganized artist. Bry knows she can't help with what's inside his head but she can at least make sure everything outside stays as healthy as possible while he tries to heal.
- When Isabella joined the Sentinels, Bry was delighted to have a teammate she could actually complement. While Effigy in her prime was into various government databases and an expert in using cameras to track down people and things, the Tracker could do the impossible in finding those people and things technology couldn't. Between the two, the Sentinels were able to pull off bank jobs, hardware heists and pull financial fraud schemes unparalleled in world history. And since both of them lacked an ability appropriate for front-line fighting, they spent quite a bit of time together.
  
  When Isabella slipped into a coma after the fight, several of Bry made sure she received the best medical care possible. And when Isabella woke months later and slipped out of the facility providing for her care, Bry lost track of her...at least for a while. Once the other woman got in touch with the ex-Sentinels, though, Bry was once more happy to offer her services to set Claire Dupont up with a new identity, work history, credit history, etc.
  
  In the last decade, Bry's watched Claire establish her photography business with interest and admiration. Most of their former teammates struggled in one sense or another to make a new life for themselves. But just as Bry found more satisfaction in her new lines of work than she ever had with the old, she felt a certain kinship with her colleague who likewise had reinvented herself (and shared an interesti n the outdoors).

Biography:
Bryony was born in a small town in far northeastern British Columbia, where the sun rises at 4am and sets at 10pm in the summer, and where winters get 7 hours of sunlight a day. She grew up on a farm, one of nine siblings, and put up with her oldest brother subtly nudging her to join him in the Oil and Gas industry when she finished high school.

She never did. By the time Bry was 12, the first of herselves appeared when she rolled a tractor and got pinned beneath it. She promptly put her power to work by having one of herselves go to school, another work at the farm, a third to stay in her room and study computer science while the rest of herselves went to pursue their own interests like swimming, fishing, hiking in the outdoors. Computers ended up being her immediate opportunity for freedom when she got into the malware community and ended up creating ransomware that hijacked funds from tens of thousands of people, putting her instantly into the money...and putting the Canadian Security Intelligence Service on her trail.

Bry barely escaped by using forged ID and passport to get into the United States. She killed a year surviving through a combination of unskilled labor temp jobs, petty crime and financial fraud all done by herselves, with one of her always with an alibi. Until Doctor Disaster found her. The master telepath saw the real potential in her abilities and brought her into the Sentinels, encouraged her to train her skills and especially to learn the art of disguise so no mundane would ever catch on. Bry became Effigy. And while her ability lacked the 'punch' most of her teammates had, Effigy's range of talents and numbers made her outstanding support for the team, able to drive getaway vehicles, serve as a field medic as well as be the radio operator/computer hacker/lookout for the Sentinels.

Effigy died in the final battle. At least, one of herselves did. She was buried under the name Sally Shirley. The rest of herselves went to ground, surviving much as they had before the Sentinels, but with none of the satisfaction the teenaged Bry had experienced. When Doctor Disaster dropped her a line and told her he planned to make a break from it all in Glasshill, Colorado, she came out for a visit. And ended up...staying.

These days, 'Bry Beckett' owns a farm in the rurals outside of Glasshill. She also runs EF Construction and Design, a residential and commercial construction company in another town an hour down the road. A dozen or so women of varying ages, hair and eye color and backstory have struck up dozens of friendships and relationships under the guise of working for either the farm or the construction outfit. And these days she mostly passes the time doing work she enjoys while one or more of herselves go back to the basics with days spent swimming, fishing and hiking.

Until the Sentinels need her again.
Powers: Duplication - Bry can make copies of herself. These copies replicate whatever she's wearing, though no other personal effects are duplicated. Bry's copies have all of her memories, personality and skills and mutually think of herselves as herselves. She's able to reabsorb a duplicate through touch, gaining all their memories and experiences as if they'd happened to her.

Limitations and Weaknesses:

• Bry's duplication takes a second of concentration to activate, whether creating a duplicate or reabsorbing one.
• She has no ability to track or sense her duplicates once separated from her and the only way to know what they know is to reabsorb one.
• The effect includes a faint but audible 'popping' sound; quiet enough not to be heard outdoors but easily enough heard in quiet, stealth situations.
• Reintegration carries the memory of not only experiences but any pain or injury suffered. This has made her increasingly hesitant about life-and-death situations.

Skills:
Effigy was (and still is) possessed of an incredible breadth of skill picked up over the years. Before she joined the Sentinels, she already had the equivalent of a college education, good blue-collar skills in farming, building and maintenance along with a real expertise in computers. Doctor Disaster saw to it that various herselves studied a variety of useful skills to round out her abilities. Particular mentions include:

• Eyes in the Sky: Bry leveraged her computer skills to fulfill the classic role scene on many CW shows of researching and gathering intel, using security cameras to monitor targets, monitor radio channels for police and superhero activity, etc. She's a bit rusty now, though.
• Disguise: Doctor Disaster partnered several of herselves up with various con-artists, makeup artists and experts in designing disguises. Effigy had dozens of wigs and custom outfitting, which she could make herself with the right materials. She also had formal acting classes and has had a great deal of practice designing 'roles' for herselves including body language, mannerisms and accents. It's not flawless but it's been enough for her to lead a dozen or more lives during her retirement.
• Super Villain Abilities: A year on the streets along with some Sentinel training made Effigy proficient at creating fake IDs, breaking & entering techniques including locks and safes, pickpocketing and sleight of hand and so on. Doctor Diaster also saw to it that she learned high-speed driving, basic and advanced surveillance techniques along with basic field medic capabilities. She hasn't had to do any of the above in almost a decade, though.
• Combat Abilities: Effigy has had exposure to a dozen martial arts and has had multiple duplicates learning, practicing and drilling for years. Her ability to make copies of herselves, and then gain their memories once they're reabsorbed, means she has a cumulative fighting experience in the range of decades. She's also practiced extensively at making and using improvised weapons, as 90% of her actual combat experience has involved her making more of herselves when attacked and mobbing her opponent with whatever is available. Effigy is a great shot with dozens of types of guns but has never actually used them in combat against the police or superheroes, as she typically played a support role for the Sentinels and Doctor Disaster wanted to limit the risk that the public would realize the Sentinels had a duplicator.
Disclaimer: Despite her formidable combat experience, Bry is at heart a farmer and builder first, a computer expert and support role second and a fighter third. Her excellent battle abilities are the result of someone with mediocre potential maximizing that potential through a training process no one else can duplicate. A master can make her a better combatant but she'll never be a natural prodigy and her best advantage against a prodigy is numbers.
• Construction: Growing up on a farm gave her basic exposure to putting up a fence, doing dry wall and even some basic wiring. Effigy's time with the Sentinels expanded that to the point where herselves, if given the materials, could put together a hideout or secret base on-demand in record time. Since her retirement, Bry's rounded out her abilities to include architecture, carpentry, electrical work, roofing as well as project management and permitting for both residential and commercial properties. She's terrific at it, largely because it's her passion.
• Farming: Bry also owns 2,000 acres outside of Glasshill, which she grows a lot of wheat, raises horses and ranches cattle. She's subsequently learned how to repair and maintain farming vehicles, provide veterinary care for her animals, and a dozen other skills needed to keep the place running.

Biography:

Artemesia grew up in a dysfunctional Stark family household with her younger sister Raven and being born a Stark was more trouble than it was worth. A wealthy and prominent family on the West Coast, Artemesia's father was a megalomaniac and CEO of the empire that he built from the ground up. Mr. Stark expected a lot from his family and demanded a certain level of perfection when it came to how the world saw him, Mrs. Stark, and their daughters. Artemesia played the role of a perfect daughter rather exceptionally but dream of a different life; a life of danger and intrigue and violence. Unfortunately, the violence that she craved entered her life in a wicked and destructive way when Artemesia's father discovered that Mrs. Stark was having an affair with one of his partners. Mr. Stark had a psychotic break - unable to bear the thought of such a scandal tarnishing the Stark name - so, he shot his wife six times in the torso.

Artemesia had only been sixteen at the time and her sister Raven had only been 10 when she had heard the gunshots ring out through their family home. It was when she heard her father calling for the two of them, listened to his footsteps approach closer and closer down the hall, that Artemesia's powers revealed themselves. As she cradled young Raven close to her chest, she thought of the place where she was happiest; when she was younger she remembered a hike through the Washington wilderness. When she opened her eyes she and her sister were suddenly there. It was the middle of the night and the rain was pouring down, but she would recognize the peaceful meadow anywhere. It was a day later that She learned her father had shot himself once in the head, virtually ending his own life. She's never been able to escape the immense fear of what if...What if they had been in that room when their father had come in...

After the tragic death of both their parents, the Stark sisters were sent away to live with their grandmother in Oregon. Without her overbearing father and narcissistic mother, Artemesia was finally able to be her own person rather than the living doll her parents had created. She also had her newfound ability of teleportation. She began to experiment with her new powers and discovered that it made certain...Illegal activities....Very accessible. Raven would have followed her sister to hell and back if Artemesia had asked her and so the younger Stark sister never objected to the way Artemesia approached life. It started small, home robberies and whatnot...

But, when Artemesia decided to hit a large bank she was not so lucky...Her sister was shot and killed by police halfway through the heist; Artemesia did not even have time to take her body with her when she teleported away. The sudden death of Raven left Artemesia broken. She closed herself off to others and began living every day like it were her last...And maybe that's what she wanted, for everything to end; to take that long rest. It was during her darkest days that she was recruited into the Sentinels.

After the war, Artemesia got a tip that some of her old crew had settled in a small town in Colorado. She packed up her belongings and convinced her grandmother to move to Glasshill where she has tried her best to keep her head down.

Powers:
Teleportation - Artemesia has the ability to teleport to anywhere she pleases...As long as she has seen the location before.

She has also discovered a newfound ability that she likes to call persuasive touch. If people are easily swayed or not full coherent, Artemesia is able to bend them to her own will by imposing her own thoughts over theirs.

Limitations and Weaknesses:

Can only teleport to locations she has seen. She prefers if the location is somewhere she has seen in person as a photograph leaves a lot of room for interpretation and mistake.

She is really only capable of teleporting one other person with her at a time. Larger groups are nearly impossible, so Artemesia would have to go back and forth between the starting location and the destination to teleport more than one person.

Persuasive touch only works on people who are easily influenced and she must maintain physical contact with them during her subterfuge of their mind.

Skills:

Artemesia is a smooth talker and is capable of the incredible manipulation of others. She acquired this skill growing up in the pristine Stark household; her father taught her that everyone has a price or weakness that can be utilized to your advantage.

Biography: Family is always complicated. Pretty much any villain can tell you that. The complications started when one of San Francisco's biggest villains was killed by one of the biggest heroes. On the other side of the city, Louisa, a 17 year old girl, watched the villain be unmasked for the first time on live tv, and was shocked to see that the Duke of Alcatraz was her father.

At first, the hero, Peter Dallager, tried to gain her trust and be a “support” figure, telling her that her father's last words were take care of my Lou Lou, but pretty quickly, she realized he had less than pure intentions. Things spiraled, he took advantage of her vulnerability over and over. In the mean time, she grew closer to Dallager's daughter, the eleven year old Laura. After a particularly brutal incident, Lou ended up on the streets. The girl doesn’t actually have any superpowers, but made it her mission to convince Dallager that she did and worked her way up to looking like the next big super villain so he’d challenge her. She didn't expect to win. She expected to die, and hoped that the killing of a seventeen year old girl, who would definitely be found to be powerless in the autopsy, would make people question Dallager's perfect, shiny, exterior and see him for the man he was inside.

In the mean time, she started to uncover some secrets about Dallager’s family, and her own. Family is always complicated. She discovered an old plot, Diane Dallager, the hero's wife, had once been married to Paul Drysdell, Lou's father. Lou barely remembered her mother, only that she left when Lou was about four, and that she didn't say goodbye. What she learned was that her mother had been blackmailed into leaving. And that her mother was Diane Dallager, making Laura her half-sister.

Time went on, her reputation increased (helped along by other villains who either wanted to honor the memory of her father or want to see somebody stick it to that Dallager, if you want to be involved in Lou's backstory, hit me up) and eventually, he agreed to fight her.

The days leading up to the fight were tense. Louisa knew she was going to her death. But they never reached the fight, because in Dallager's mansion, the evening before the confrontation, he boasted to his wife about how he'd killed her first husband, and now he would kill her first daughter. And Diane pulled a poker out of the lit fire, and stabbed him through the gut. At that point, the war was already raging. Diane took Laura, found Louisa, and the three of them fled to Colorado to try and pick up the pieces of their life.

Powers: None.

Limitations and Weaknesses: She is, essentially, just a normal 27 year old woman. She has deep connections to the world of super villains, and respect, but she's not going to be useful in a fight.

Skills: Highly educated, she's gotten her law degree. Well connected. Her father was well liked amongst the world of villains. Louisa's a fast learner, with enough determination and grit to grow quickly, if needed. She has some hand to hand training, but not much.

Other: She's bisexual
