Hakeem is the only child of the Southern Tribe Chief. He was raised by his father and his trusted allies, turning Hakeem from a young boy to a man as he grew up. Hakeem came into his bending powers at a very young age. He was a natural water bender having the skill come easy to him. Hakeem spent his young days training along side other males of the Southern Tribe. Many bonds where created between Hakeem and the people of his tribe. Many of his friends died on hunting trips, but even those tough times didn't hold him back. One day the eldest in the Southern Tribe learns that the Avatar will appear soon, and the Chief chose his very son to find and protect the Avatar.
