Thin Hispanic face. Green eyes, light stubble. Messy black hair.
Name-
Antonio "Tony" Mendez
Nickname(s) (if any)-
Professor Mendez
Age-
27
Species-
Human
Gender-
Male
Sexuality
Straight, but tends to focus on his research instead of chasing tail.
Powers-
Able to turn biomass he touches into swarms of insects, including his own flesh. He has subconscious control over these bugs, allowing him to have an arsenal of tricks up his sleeves. If you've played Bioshock, you'll know what I'm talking about.
TLDR: He summons bugs.
Height-
5'7
Personality-
Lawful evil. An eccentric doctor who threw his career away studying the supernatural. Mendez is a dreamer who always seems to have his head in the clouds, something to be expected from people in his line of work. If you get him to talk about insects, it's hard to get him to stop. Calm and methodical in all of his dealings, he almost never acts on impulse. On first glance, he's just a well mannered scientist albeit a little 'off' at times. It's hard to tell when he's angry or upset. But beneath the surface he's conniving and underhanded. His research has consumed him, bordering on an obsession. His tunnel vision has given him a bit of an empathy issue, or lack thereof. He's willing to do anything if it means getting him one step closer to his goals. He has mastered self justification, coming up with roundabout reasons for his lowest actions.
After all, would a mentally stable person chose to hunt monsters in the middle of bumblefuck nowhere?
Backstory-
In 1863, a massive swarm of locusts ravaged farmland in New Mexico sparking a famine. The source? A toddler named Antonio Mendez.
As Tony grew up, he learned to keep his bizarre abilities hidden. Paranoid he'd be labeled as a freak, so he grew up as an outcast. Always quiet, never wanting to attract too much attention. Instead, he put his focus into biology, always having his nose deep in textbooks and old medical journals hoping to shed some light on his situation. At age 17, he enrolled in medschool, specializing in entomology. He proved to be a fantastic doctor, but had a reputation for coming up with insane theories and research projects. Few of his peers took him seriously. Soon he turned to the obvious, yet darker solution. He began dabbling in the occult, delving deep into ancient witchcraft and mythology, it was the only logical answer. Soon after this, he snapped. He flunked out of university and traveled West, out there he'd find the answers he was looking for. He put his training as a doctor to good use, becoming a poacher of the supernatural.
