Some people are content with being farmers, honest hard work bringing them more fulfillment that glorious deeds and the riches of their exploits.
Some are content with being simple blacksmiths, providing good steel for those who need it in the numerous battles their lives have to offer.
Some simply care about the study of the arcane, never stepping a foot outside of their academies and vast archives.
And then there are those who care not for such things.
They are those who either willingly chose a lifetime of adventure, or simply had fate turn them towards becoming sellswords.
What unifies them, beyond their different backgrounds and motivations for choosing this life, is the guild's crest that marks them as just that:
Those with lives disposable enough and the skills for the tasks other people would never even consider taking up.
They are adventurers, contractors of the guild whose fates are bound together through this simple calling.
And just like every one of these stories, this tale begins in the comfort of a warm tavern and a cool mug of ale.

As you may have already noticed, this is going to be your typical episodic fantasy adventure, each "arc" dealing with a contract chosen by YOU, the players.
Given the nature of this format, it will be really easy to just drop in for a quest or two and then be on your merry way, making it great for those who prefer this over long obligations.
This allows for a constantly changing flux of players who'd take up arms and join together for epic quests!
