livy
blasting in her car: tek it - cafune

“babyyyy!!” livy voiced happily to her friend, “i missed you too much.” she warmly accepted andy’s hug, pressing their cheeks together as they always did–a french welcome and goodbye they implemented in their friendship, “looking adorable as always!”

she quickly put the transmission in drive and hurriedly took off out of the girl’s driveway and out onto the route towards school. she couldn’t take the pretty ocean-side drive this time as they were going to be late, but livy was more pleased to be reuinted with her good friend again. she bubbled over the whole car ride, spilling bits of gossip she’d picked up from social media.

“oh and i guess casper is coming back to school today…wonder how that’s gonna be for like..rosie, you know.” she offered, her face in a wince. maybe it wouldn’t be as awkward, but andy did know a bit of what had happened over winter break. after all, she had been there with livy briefly the night before to pick weed up off him and it was pretty clear he was on some shit. they didn’t bat an eye though as they were pretty drunk last time they drove by his house. but they’d picked up the weed and went to smoke and goof off at livy’s, the next day–it was just text after text blowing up livy’s phone offering people’s bits of what happened. from luke, rosie, auggie–

as they approached the school, the parking lot was comically empty and livy gave a laugh to the sight,
“jesus, could we BE anymore late?” she said, clearly amused. the blonde girl interlocked her arm with her friend as they walked towards the science department building doors. if they’d had more time the two would have caught up more about their OWN lives, but livy figured they’d have time for that–maybe at lunch. or even during class, as they sat in the back together and usually made time for chitchat whether it be verbal or on their cellphones. besides, she really did need to catch up with andy.

livy opened the metal door carefully, but to her surprise the class hadn’t completely started yet. their teacher occasionally took time for kids to settle in and he probably made even more time since it was the first day. thank god.

“oh shit, rosie said she got us both drinks i totally forgot to meet her in–” she whispered to andy until she caught a glimpse of their friend’s older brother in his usual seat with two drinks on top of his desk, “nevermind, i guess we got a delivery..” to her happy surprise, she’d guessed rosie knew her and andy would be late and passed on the drinks to jeremy instead. she pursed her lips in a comforted pout, thankful for her friends’ consistent thoughtfulness. she'd definitely have to remember to thank her and Jeremy for the kind gesture.

piper
listening: behind your eyes - ghost woman

Hooked her backpack on the back on the plastic chair, tucking a loose strand behind her ear as she sat down. She turned her body towards Rosie, a small gesture that she picked up to actually let the person that she's talking to know that Piper is listening. She took another sip of her iced coffee before setting it down on the table. The condensation on the cup creating a ring of water by it's base.

She rolled her eyes when Rosie mentioned Jack, she never actually met the guy. Rosie always talks about how great of a person he is, and how she wants to see the better in him. But she also tells stories about him just overall being a bad boyfriend. So it was a relief to her when Rosie told Piper that she broke up with the jerk. Or so she thought.

"You're joking right?.." She scoffed, turning her body away from Rosie and leaning back into the chair. She made a 'Tsk' noise, clicking her tongue against her teeth while shaking her head. "Like he was so generous with your feelings when he was snogging that twat. You should've told me, or at least ask for my opinion. Trust me I have a lot of them." Even though she had never been in a relationship herself, she found herself pretty knowledgeable about the subject. How hard is it even?

"You're too good for guys like Jack. They're all the same. They use you because they know they can get away with it. You can't be nice all the time. Sometimes you just gotta kick em' right it the dick and tell them to piss off." She exclaimed, her voice lined with a bit of concern mixed with anger

Alex Smyth

Alex woke up but lay there with her eyes closed for a couple for seconds, taking in the sounds around her to try and figure out where she was. She remembered sitting in her room and smoking a joint out the window and then... her eyes opened as she sat up taking in the scene in front of her. She was now in a dingy crackhouse type of sitting room that she did not recognize. Standing up, she tipped the arm of her waist and stumbled over sleeping bodies to find a bathroom.

Alex closed the bathroom door behind her, she turned on the taps and using her hands began to splash water on her face enjoying the cool freshness the action gave. As she lifted her head and looked in the mirror, her attention was immediately brought to her now very dark and very fresh black eye. Tenderly she touched her left eye and flinched at the pain it caused her, causing her memory to come back from the night before...

she had been sitting in her room and smoking a joint out the window when her mother and new boyfriend came home. Alex heard them go into the sitting room before hearing her mother shout, the drunk had punched her because she had no alcohol in the house. Realising he was clearly on a violent rampage, Alex quickly made moves towards her door, hoping to barricade it before he could get into her but she was too late, as she reached the door it swung open hitting her back into the room before a punch came from nowhere catching her cleanly on the left eye...After a few hits her mother had managed to convince the man to leave Alex alone and to go to the bedroom with her, as soon as the door swung shut, Alex jumped up from the floor, grabbed her bag and phone threw on shoes and a scarf and ran from the apartment

Alex made her way from the bathroom and recognized her supplier slumped on the coach. She smirked to herself before looking around to find her belongings. She picked up her bag from the table and found her phone. Checking the time, she wondered whether or not to go to school. Taking her options to be staying here and catching something, getting beaten, or going to School she decided on the third option. She saw a pair of sunglasses beside the tv and picked them up placing them carefully on her face in the hopes to hide the massive bruise she was now sporting. Alex picked up the bottle of vodka and took a swig before placing it in her bag and walking out of the house. It was only when she got outside and the fresh air hit her skin did Alex realise that she was still high and quite drunk from the night before. She knew that she was not appropriately dressed for how cold it was but also she couldn't really feel the cold, a perk of drugs and alcohol. Shrugging it off and finding relief in the idea that the sunglasses would hide the fact that her eyes wouldn't focus she walked down the drive and towards her school which thankfully she realised very quickly was actually quite close to the run down house she had woken in.

Alex entered the school gates and walked straight down the road, completely oblivious to any cars trying to park and pull in around her. As she got to half way through the carpark she realised noone was really standing outside and the atmosphere was empty and still, her mind couldn't figure out if she was very early or very late, she fixed the sunglasses and pulled her hair to the left side hoping to hide any part of the bruise that may be showing ..
