seattle, washington. known for itās balance of bustling city life alongside the beauty of lush environment by mountains and bayside alike. the weather is rather gloomy almost 9 months out of the entire year. famous for itās ample rain and grey skies, but just as much for itās reputation for being one of the most depressing cities in america. the two seem to go hand in hand.
this is a story about a handful of kids navigating their lives through growing up in such a place. some have known eachother their entire lives, some have arrived just in time. some hail from high class areas like loyal heights or queen anne, some reside in places like south seattleāor to put it another way, less fortunate circumstances. however, this story focuses on the lives of the high school students attending roosevelt high schoolāsmack dab in the middle of both worlds. all in all, when worldās collide is when the real challenges come into play.

hello! welcome to my dark high school roleplay plot. this plot is roughly based on skins, roughly based on my own life and experiences ive witnessed online and in real life.
**this will be an rp with dark undertones and mature themes**
internet music has become a huge buzz as of late and this story will be about a group of kids who get wrapped up in high school life and online social media presences alike. essentiallyādepicting how difficult it is to balance life if youāre surrounded by bad influences, the pressure of the music/online scene, and just hectic home lives in general.
your characters donāt necessarily ALL have to be musicians at all of course. some can be social media micro-celebrities, some can be athletes, some can just be regular people, or any sort of storyline you can come up with. the more creativity the better! keep it realistic & fun :]
im hoping for this to be a long-term group roleplay of a tight knit group of people having one to three (or more*) main characters each.

- lgbt+ friendly, and recommended (if youāre not for it, this isnāt for you)
- no reserves unless ive talked to you personally about it, want this to be a first come first serve so as soon as the character sheet thread is up it's be fair game! (must be approved first)
- must have a discord to participate in plotting & more
- no godmodding, consult with others before making any huge moves
- one to four characters per user (unless approved by me, just trying to keep it pretty concise and not too hectic! & so we can all get to know each character with as much depth as possible)
- literacy level should be at least semi-advanced. not strict about length or posts at all. it's just important that the quality & heart is there :]

cast: - the bad news
charismatic, reckless, spunky, impulsive, charming. seemingly your typical fuckboy, notorious for being a party kid and a heartbreakerābut a good one at that. most likely hailing from a wealthy background. part of the music group. childhood friends with the misanthrope, amiable, and girl-next door.
- the misanthrope
antisocial, standoffish, reclusive, yet impulsive. the boy probably in the back of the party doing drugs by himself. hard to get to know. skips school every chance he gets. addiction & home life issues. most likely hailing from a lower-middle class family. part of the music group. into hard drugs. self-deprecating emo boy : P check. childhood friends with and grew up with amiable, bad news & girl-next-door.
- the amiable
friendly, sweet, easily influenced, charismatic, outgoing. an all around likeable character whoās like the popular cool kid just because of his pleasant demanor. easy to make friends with and has a lot of them, especially gets along with girls. tries to stay away from hard drugs, but tends to fall into them because of his friends. potentially comes from a good home? & middle-class family. basically that cute, friendly skater boy you hopelessly have a crush on coz he's such a sweetheart. probably really into weed or psychadelics. best friends with and grew up with misanthrope, bad news and girl-next-door. especially some sort of a voice of reason for the misanthrope and bad news--although tends to get wrapped up in their shenanigans more than often.
- the gifted
creative, brilliant, resourceful, original, profound. extremely talented in both school and arts. bit of a nerd especially in his areas of interest & while friendly and amiable, probably lacks more in the social aspect in comparison to his talents (something that could develop as time goes on). one of the groupās most talented music producers and their main videographer. always trying to push his friends to shoot bigger as he really believes in what their doing. probably into weed or psychs and only using party drugs for special occasions, tends to stay away from opiates specifically. friends with amiable, misanthrope, bad news.
- the golden boy
super friendly, dependable, outgoing, charming, approachableālike the boy-next door type. big golden retriever boy energy. popular kid. naturally liked by every and anyone. excels in school naturally & potentially sports as well? hailing from a high-middle class family and seemingly good home life, but you wouldnāt be able to tell otherwise because of his demeanor.
- the diffident
shy, a bit awkward, good-natured, loyal, underestimates themselves way more than they deserve. more introverted personality. deep down a bit of a hopeless romantic. doesnāt mean to be alone or not have many friends, but just sort of ended up that way. super sweet, but can succumb to his anxiety and depression at timesāresulting in skipping school days or trying to evade talking to anyone for even days at a time. most likely comes from a lower-middle class family.
- the new boy
new to seattle and the drug and music/party scene. very open ended character.
- the thrill seeker
beautiful, outspoken, flirty, seemingly unafraid and a bit dramaticāthe schoolās it girl. she couldnāt NOT stand out if she tried. huge on social media and a bit of a micro celebrity at school and online. very fashionable and has expensive tastes (think big e-girl). fashionable, a bit judgemental and fake. a huge flirt, always looking for a good time. probably has a lot of fans in school/online as well as haters. hails from a wealthy family and tends to use her money to get what she wants. best friends with the free spirit.
- the free spirit
playful, unconventional, creative, lax, experimentalāa lover rather than a fighter and an old soul w/ a taste for freedom, seeking experiences based on the best things in life. likes to have fun every chance she gets. very open-minded and loves to focus on the best things in people. naturally smart, but tends to slack off in studyingāhaving trouble balancing fun and work. very fashionable. unconcerned with worries in life, prefers to live in the moment at all times. a bit of a social media star online, but more in a way where people enjoy how she posts whatever she wants whenever she wants. totally flirts around like the thrill seeker. hates conflict and is a mediator. most likely hails from a wealthy or semi-wealthy upbringing with international ties. best friends with the thrill seeker & the girl-next-door.
- the girl-next-door
down-to-earth, dependable, empathetic, amiableāa total sweetheart and friend to all. naturally sort of a mom friend for the group as she worries about all of her friends deeply. the one people always come to for anything, ends up being a mediator in conflicts. most likely is hard on herself in return, and has big trust issues with love (is a total hopeless romantic still). most likely comes from a middle-class family that she fools into thinking sheās a goodie-two-shoes. best friends with the free spirit, friends with mostly every one.
- the invisible
quiet, standoffish, a bit gloomy, hard to get to know, feels unseen or misunderstoodāa ghost of a girl. tends to be in the background of things. has major trust issues. grew up in a lower income family home, most likely on the sketchier side of town. secretly loves her friends, but has a hard time showing her emotions. only friend so far is the girl-next-door.
- the creative
spunky, a bit unhinged, wild, sporadic, eccentric. + think manic pixie dream girl. similar to the free spirit in gypsy-like behavior, but more upbeat rather than lax, extremely confrontational, will tell you exactly what sheās thinking whether she means to be so blunt or not. adores the 90ās & grunge culture. big courtney love, chloe sevigny, anna nicole smith energy(or whatever you'd think fits best). friends with the free spirit, girl-next-door, soft serve.
- the soft serve
gentle, tender-hearted, happy-go-lucky, a bit shy, awkward but in a very charming way. a darling & sweetheart. spacey, sensitive & quirky. doesnāt mean to be alone or friendless, just sort of happened that way. even so, easily loves something in almost everybody she meets. very observant still, and engages in parties often. most likely comes from a lower?-middle class family. open-ended history. kin: cassie ainsworth from skins.

similar to the bad news, except not as naturally charming. has a big personality. rowdy, outgoing, trippy, strange, fun-loving. the type of persona people either absolutely adore or hate with a strong passion. the type of person whoād probably say theyāre all for āpeace and loveā but at the second a drunken brawl goes down heās the first to jump on it. always trying to make everything hes involved with as fun as possible. however, has an inquisitive side to him only the closest to him get to witness. could come from lower, middle or wealthy backgroundsāopen ended.
