Welcome to your first day at Gregory Brooks Academy, for those returning welcome back, we hope you have

yet another amazing year. The first day is mostly just for everyone to settle into your dorm rooms and say

your goodbyes, but I do recommend getting out your required talent equipment since starting bright and

early tomorrow the year begins. Now, as said in your letter of acceptance, follow the rules to a t and we won't

have any problems, if your behaviour becomes a problem it will be addressed. Have a good day.

"Another year is upon us big brother! Another year to conquer these halls!" Beck loudly joked as she and Dylan pushed though the big wooden doors and into the main foyer. While the summer had been fun for the blonde, travelling for dance and modelling, she always missed school, she was popular at school and it didn't matter that she wasn't the best at academics cause she had other talents besides that that mattered here.
'I swear you're a crazy person' Beck giggled at her brothers quiet jokes, they were two very different people, but they were probably the closest people in their family.
"Awe thanks Dyl, so sweet" she winked hoisting her duffle bag over her shoulder and pulling her suitcase behind her. "Oh oh! I hope the girls are here already! We finally all got a room together!" She shrugged heading over to the stairs to start the tremendous hike to the girls dorms since for some reason the school had never thought to put an elevator in. Once she got in she threw her bags on the bed closest to the window, sighing happily as she looked around. Ready to start the year.
"A run, I should go for a run" the girl was in a bit of a weird place at the school but she didn't care, the dance program put her in the arts department and the athletics though a fair few of the athletics students were against the dancers being there since it 'wasn't a sport' but the dancers need access to the gym and things like that so it remains.

Dylan couldn't help the eye roll and shake of the head that accompanied his chuckle as his sister excited walked into the school, him following behind. He loved his sister but sometimes she was a lunatic "I swear you're a crazy person" While Dylan had been at the school a year longer than Beck she was way more popular, him getting labeled as 'Becks brother' once she got her nose into the place. He didn't mind, he wasn't one to want to be popular and hang out in big groups so fading into the background sounded perfect to him.
As his sister got excited about seeing her friends he chuckled again, glancing around to see if anyone was staring at the energetic blonde. Seemed like no one was really there yet. "Yea hopefully I'll see Eddie even though- and there she goes" He watched as Beck started up the stairs, following behind but at a slower pace; sitting at a desk studying all the time doesn't exactly make you strong. Once in his dorm he threw his bag on a bed and sighed pulling out a book and sitting along side his bag, instantly diving into a book.

Parker pulled her forest green Jeep into a parking spot in the lot behind Gregory Brooks Academy, looking up at the large building through her windshield. Though Parker had attended this school for a few years now, she always dreaded when the school breaks ended. Though her parents believed that this school would be better for her and her talents, Parker would much rather be with them in the forest, being surrounded by the nature of Yellowstone National Park. It was her calling, where she felt most at peace. But, the bullying she endured at the school there was enough to frighten her parents, and thus they sent her away. Parker couldn't blame them really, but it still hurt to feel as though she had been cast away.

Parker climbed from the Jeep and pulled her bags from the back, dragging them towards the dorm she had lived in during her attendance at Gregory. Once she had placed her things in her room, Parker grabbed her sketchpad and pencil before heading back outside. She sat on a bench in front of the school so she could draw but also people watch. Though Parker was friends with the girls in her dorm, she really didn't talk to many people outside of that. Mostly because Parker didn't trust the strangers to not treat her the way the other students had in her former school. Parker flipped open her sketchpad to a clean page and began to sketch the architecture of the school, waiting for other students to arrive.

"Another year of school," the brunette mumbled to herself as she made it to the front doors of the towering academy, her heavy bag slung on her shoulder.

It would be her second year and Eva seriously did not know how to feel about returning to school. On one hand, she didn't get to sleep in. No more hot weather, no more sleeping in, no more long, sunny days at the pool, no more playing her guitar all day with no interruptions, no more being able to stay in her room all day if she chose to. Summer was pretty great; she continued to play her guitar and generated ideas to write and create even more songs. Her parents weren't the kind of people to force Eva to get out of her room and go socialize. There were days when she wanted to get some fresh air and there were days when all she wanted to do was stay in her room, eating chips, Rice Krispies, and any candy she could find while thinking of a good tune on her guitar.

But at the same time, starting school would mean a new beginning. She could meet new people who actually "get" her. She could work on her skills even more and being in a dorm with someone else she never met could prove to be exciting. But that was what Eva was more nervous about that than anything. What if they thought she was weird or "too quiet" or just didn't like her at all?

She realized that her dorm mates probably weren't going to be too bad. She genuinely hoped so. Either way, she shouldn't care what they thought of her. She knew she was weird and different, but for the most part, she didn't care. She pulled the sleeves of her holographic jacket and walked through the doors, making her way up to the girls' level by walking up the stairs.

"Dorm 2..." Eva mumbled intently as she looked around for the dorm. She perked up once she found it and opened the door. She studied the large room with 3 beds with thick, white comforters, a kitchenette, and a couch with a TV. Apparently, she would have two other roommates. That wasn't so bad. At least it wasn't 5 other people. She shuddered at the thought as sat on the bed closest to the window and rested her bag on it, humming as she waited for the two others.

Avery sighed as he began walking towards the school entrance, his pale, papery white skin contrasting with the all black outfit he had decided to wear today. He didn't even get the chance to say goodbye to his parents before they sent him off to boarding school, as it was a part time butler (that they hired just for this purpose) that dropped him off. It was going to be his first year here at Gregory Brooks Academy, and he was beyond nervous. He didn't know anyone, hardly knew where his classes and dorm room was, and he was only stressing himself out more when he thought about it. His vibrant blue eyes scanned his surroundings as he readjusted the duffle bag lying lazily on one his shoulders. He also had a suitcase on his other side, though he wasn't worried that he had over packed. If anything he was worried that he had under packed or forgotten something. He sighed as his vibrant blue eyes scanned his surroundings for a few moments, before remembering that it would most likely be best to go to his dorm and drop off his luggage before hand.

When he had first begun holding his things it wasn't all that heavy, though now his arms and legs were beginning to feel like lead. He entered the large school, stopping to take a look at his surroundings in fear that he had already gotten lost. "Is my dorm on the fourth floor or the fifth floor? He thought, trying to remember the brief things his parents told him about the academy they were sending him off to. He shrugged his shoulders after a few moments of hesitation and decided to head to the fourth floor, going to dorm two. He paused for a moment at the door, wondering whether or not someone would already be in the room. He hoped he wouldn't make it too awkward, as his social skills were lacking in a few areas to put it simply.

He opened the door to his dorm room and saw a boy who appeared to be a couple years older than him already in the room. He couldn't tell his height because he was sitting down, although he didn't look to be all that muscular which made Avery cross out in his head that sports were his talent. He then scolded himself mentally for judging someone based on their appearance as he closed the door quietly behind him. He saw that the other was reading and questioned whether or not he should introduce himself. "What if I disturb him and make him mad? But what if not saying anything at all makes it seem like I'm rude?' He questioned himself as he put his things on top of a bed, claiming it as his for the time being. "Hi, My name's Avery." He said looking over to the male who had just been reading, hoping he wouldn't get mad.

Autumn clutched her book bag as the rental car approched the school at an awfully slow pace. As if each second was a reminder of what she was going to walk into any minute. Unbuckling, she watched as her mother put the car in park and smile at her. Cassie smiled back, patting her mom's hand in reassurance, when in reality she was feeling to many emotions at once. She clipped in her hair bow and straightened her outfit, as she opened the car door and swung herself out. Shutting the door, she walked to the trunck and grabbed her white suitcase her mom insisted she take with her. Slamming the trunk with a very startling, and very loud noise, Cassie made her way to the school enterance. 'A new beginning, a path to a brighter future.' Her mom had told her. Cassie bit her lip as she took her phone out of her pocket and checked the time. Her mom had dropped her off a little earlier than Cassie anticipated, but she would have to deal with it. 'What if i'm not gifted enough?' She thought, though there was no turning back now as her mother was already gone. Sighing, she smiled as the negitve thoughts cleared her head and she donned her bookbag and pulled her suit case behind her.

After getting her self lost what seemed like one hundred times, She finally found the girl dorm and checked her phone for her dorm number. Lucky for Cassie, she had everything written down, even if she wasn't good at following her own directions. She took a small breath and quietly opened the door and peeked into dorm number two. She smiled when she observed the room. Three beds, a living room, and a kitchenette. She noticed the bed closest to the window was occupied by a humming girl in a jacket. Which caused Cassie to smile a bit more. She took the bed closest to the door, a small habit from her old room. She put her suitcase on the bed and slid her bookbag off her shoulder, turning to the other girl. Cautiusly judging her words in her head. 'What if she doesn't like me?' She pondered, even though her excitment quickly drowned it out. "Hello. I'm new here and my name Autumn Evans, though I would like to be called Cassie. It's nice to meet you." She said, a smile placed brightly on her face. "Nice outfit." She complimented the girl as she looked at her again.

One of her roommates had arrived and Eva smiled at the girl as she approached her. She was not very tall, even though she didn't have the right to say anything at 5'2. She had soft, kind looking features and a baby face just like she did, rather pale skin, and short brown hair.

"H-hi. I'm Eva and it's nice to meet you too, Cassie," she said with a clear British accent as she smiled sheepishly at her rather nervous introduction. She smiled more widely at the compliment. Most times, people would think she was some weird millennial Tumblrina with her clothing style. It was one of the more common assumptions about her, besides the assumption that she was 14 due to her height and baby face.

"Thanks. I like yours too, especially your glasses. And your beret is really cute, too," she said, sounding more comfortable than before. She felt that she could get along with Cassie. So far, she was really nice and she seemed genuine. Her style was also great, at least in her book.

Eva smiled, though she was internally panicking. She had to keep the conversation going somehow. She couldn't just leave it like this. She struggled a bit to find the right words. "So, uh, Cassie, which program are you in?" Eva smiled a bit, hoping that the question wasn't too generic or desperate sounding.

Parker watched as a few people entered the dorms, smiling at the familiar faces that she recognized and assessing those that she didn't. Parker was generally a quiet person, and she didn't make friends easily. But being here had made her a bit better at that. She recognized Beck and her brother, Dylan, as they both headed towards their respective dorms. As she continued to sketch the general outline of the building, knowing she would add more detail to it later, she couldn't help but get distracted by the forest just outside the campus. Even though Parker had explored every inch of those woods and knew it like the back of her hand, she wanted nothing more than to disappear into them again. Parker felt at home when she was with nature. It calmed her, made her feel as though she actually belonged.

Shaking her head to clear away the thoughts of the forest and of her trouble back home, Parker closed her sketchbook and stood, heading back towards the dorm. She walked slowly, examining the knew flowers that the landscape crew had planted by the building's front doors. She climbed the stairs slowly, nodding with a soft smile to the familiar faces that she passed. Without saying a word for the twenty minutes that she had been at the academy, Parker broke her silence as she entered the dorm room. "Hey Beck, how was your summer?" While waiting for a response, Parker moved her things next to her bed and sat the sketchbook on her nightstand before turning and facing Beck.

Katia had been fairly excited the whole trip back to the school. It had been hard for her to sit still because of her excitement and had fidgeted the whole way there. It was such a relief when she had set foot back on the school property, ready to be back with her friends and focusing on acting again.

During the summer, she had done some traveling for a few weeks with her family. But when they were back home, her parents had made sure to have her involved with other acting classes, anything to keep Katia busy. She had enjoyed it, but it was nothing compared to what she was used to at the school. She enjoyed it so much more, and there were more people who were just like her at the school. She had felt so left out for far too long, but at the school she felt like she fit in.

She adjusted her grip on her suitcase as she made her way up the stairs, and down the corridor of the fifth floor where the girls dorms were. Katia had only been on the fourth floor, the boys dorms, once. And she had been close to getting caught, though luck had been on her side. She hadn’t been at the school long before she tried it, the challenge of not being allowed on the floor getting to her. But once she realized how much she liked the school, Katia did her best to keep to the rules not wanting to get expelled.

“Hello! Anyone in here?” Katia called out as she entered the dorm room that she had been assigned. A smile quickly appeared on her face as she noticed both Beck and Parker already there. “Hey guys! Happy return to school day!”

Dylan had put a deep focus in on the book, really getting into what he was reading, he knew in a little while he'd get a text from his sister forcing him to go to the students centre for opening day stuff but for now he was enjoying time to himself. Since he was so hyper focused on his book he hadn't noticed the other boy enter the dorm room, so when he heard a small shy voice he jumped slightly. "Oh sorry, um.... I'm Dylan...Nicole. Dylan Nicole" his face went a bit red as he stumbled over his words slightly but he gave the boy a smile. It was obvious he was a bit younger that Dylan, maybe a first year? He wasn't too sure. "Nice to meet you, guess we are roommates this year" he gave a warm smile, trying to make the boy a little more comfortable.
"So what department are you in?" That's how they asked what thier talents were, what departments they were in; academics, arts, athletics, all that jazz. Dylan was in academics which from his appearance wasn't that surprising really. As he asked he adjusted his glasses, standing and crossing his lankier arms across his chest loosely.

Beck had been searching through her messily packed bag for her running gear when she heard the firmilar softer voice of one of her best friends Parker Ray. "Parker! My beautiful artist!" The girl ran up and gave Parker a hug, her height causing her to lift the burnette off the ground. "It was good, you know travelling and all that jazz." She shrugged before turning again at the sound of yet another female voice. "Kat! I thought you'd be here long before me" the dancer smiled and made her way over to give another tight hug. "Ok, the only person left is Evie. Then we should head out to the welcome day stuff, scope out the first years see what it's all about" Beck was definitely energetic, goofy and loud, at home that was frowned upon but here at school it was less so frowned upon though it did get her in some trouble. "Even though it's school, I'm glad to be back" she then flopped onto her back letting out a content sigh.
"So what did you guys do this summer? Sex it up?" She joked, propping herself up onto her elbows. They had a lot of contrasting personalities in their little group but it was how they liked it, they really weren't there to just hang out with the jocks or arts kids. "You guys see headmistress Brooks yet? She's looking spooky as always" Becks ADHD made her a bit more chatty, so she'd usually just go on and on till someone made her stop.

Evie felt ready for the year. It was her second year at Gregory Brooks, and from the letter that had sent her dorm arrangements she'd found out that she's rooming with her besties. What better way to spend the year than with her friends, doing what she loved at the best school to do so? The whole way back to Gregory Brooks, Evie rode with the doors and windows off her jeep, her music blasting and the tiny bass system she had installed thumping. Her friend Parker had a jeep, too-- it was something they'd bonded over.

Arriving at the school, Evie practically squealed when she saw Parker's jeep. Parking a few spots down, because some asshole had parked next to her, she hopped out of the Jeep and began unloading her bags. She had two duffel bags and a bookbag and her purse. She got to about Parker's jeep before she realized her keys were still in her jeep. Doubling back, she pulled the key out of the ignition and then practically bounded into the school.

She practically ran up the stairs to the girls floor, finding her room number and almost breaking down the door in her haste to get in. "Ah, saving the best for last I see!" She exclaimed, throwing her bags down onto the last bed. "Fun times are here! Can we celebrate yet?"

Cade heaved a sigh as he pulled into the Gregory Brooks parking lot, parking his truck over in the back, away from other cars. The truck was partly his greatest possession, and he didn't want some idiot to damage it. He shut off the truck and got out, grabbing his one duffel bag before heading into the building. This would be his third year at this school, and he was pretty excited to see his friends again.

He found his dorm easily, and swung the door open, stepping inside the room. He remembered how these rooms looked almost perfectly-- well, except for the other two people in it. He grinned as he recognized Dylan, moving to clap the guy on the back. "Dylan, my man. How was your summer?" He tossed his bag down on a third bed and turned to the newest guy.

"Hey, I'm Cade." He extended his hand. "What's your name?"

Dylan jumped as he felt the clap on his back, startled by the jock that had just come in. "Pretty good, traveling, studying the usual" he shrugged letting Cade and Avery go about their introductions and he headed over to his bag, tilting his head slightly as his phone went off in confusion but once he realized it was his little sister it made a bit more sense. "Hey guys?" The nerds voice was fairly level but it was easy to tell he was a little bit shy, not wanting to intrude on thier conversation, though actually being friends with Cade made it a little easier. "Beck just texted me, her and her group are heading down to the courtyard for food and all that you guys wanna come?" He offered politely, "I'm gonna as Eddie if he wants to come too, though I'm not sure if he's gotten here yet"
He had heard plenty of long winded rants from his sister about the jock Cade but he shrugged them off, he wasn't about to get involved with a 'what is and isn't a sport' battle, the only time he was every really athletic was when the blonde girl made him train with her.

Beck leaned her head back on her the bed so she could see Evie as she entered though she was upside down. "Fucking finally!" The girl rolled onto her stomach before standing up. "I thought I was gonna have to send out a search party to get your ass in school" she laughed and gave yet another slightly crushing hug. "I think we should head down to the orientation thing, headmistress is definitely done addressing the baby first years so free food is happening and ya girl wants in" she smiled, leaning over to get her baseball hat which fell off in her excitement.
"Imma text Dylan and get him to come too, poor boy needs to be more social" she tutted jokingly before picking up her phone to message her older brother. Before she could send the message though, she paused. "Fuck he's rooming with Cade Barett this year and he'd totally invite him down" usually, Beck tried not to have a problem with anyone but the upperclassmen had really managed to get on her nerves the past year since he was one of the main athletes who had a real problem with dance being considered a sport at the school. "Fuck it, if I fight him I fight him" she shrugged, sending the text to Dylan. "Lordy I need to calm down, all the excitement is making me go all over the place"

Avery watched as the other, who later introduced himself as Dylan, jumped a bit when he heard Avery's voice. He was glad that he wasn't mad, and that he wasn't going to get his head chewed off on his first day of being here. The latter of the two was quite foolish for thinking, though since he was little he had always had a wild imagination. He nodded his head as Dylan said something about them being roommates this year. "It's nice to meet you too." He said returning the smile. He looked back up from the floor he had been so intently staring at when he was asked what department he was in by the older male. "Oh um, I'm in art, contortion, and linguistics. What about you?" He asked, although he sounded a bit unsure when he was saying what departments he was in.

It was a few moments later that another student entered the room, causing Avery to jump a little when the door suddenly opened to reveal his other roommate for the year. The other was quite tall, or Avery was just that short, maybe it was a bit of both. He immediately greeted Dylan causing him to know the two most likely new each other from last year or even earlier than that. He looked over at the man who called himself Cade as he introduced himself to Avery, before extending his hand out. "I'm Avery." He said, shaking the other's hand with a small smile.

He looked back over towards Dylan as he said his sister texted them, and invited them to go with him and her friends to the courtyard. "I'll go if you don't mind." He said, not wanting to intrude. Though he was also quite hungry, and wanted to see what some of the other students were like since they didn't have any classes today. Besides, if he went to the courtyard by himself there was a ninety percent probability that he would get lost, and that was one of the last things he wanted.

Katia returned Beck’s hug, and then went over to hug Parker. “So, we’re still waiting on Evie? And I thought I was going to be the last one to arrive this year.” She commented, while looking around the room and putting her stuff down on an empty bed. She had been shocked to hear that she was going to be roommates with her friends for the year. Finally, they were all in the same room and wouldn’t be annoying any other roommates with how much they visited each other. And they wouldn’t get in trouble for being out of their rooms after curfew. This was definitely going to be a great year.

“If only my summer was that interesting. I went on vacation with my family, some cruise that my sister chose, and then once we got back home, my parents signed me up for all these acting classes. They told me they did it to keep my skills sharp, but I know it’s only because they can’t handle me when I get bored.” She shook her head as she took a seat on her bed. “I haven’t seen anyone other than you two. I literally arrived and ran right up here!”

She stopped talking for a minute as she heard someone quickly making her way down the corridor. A smile appeared on her face as she heard them stop in front of their room and quickly throw the door open. “Evie’s here!” Katia announced to the others, watching as Evie entered the room. Finally, they were all together again.

“Free food? And checking out the new students? You’ve got me hooked!” Katia exclaimed while pushing herself off of her bed, standing up. She shook her head at Beck, “Hey, no getting in fights on the first day. Especially with Cade.” She told her friend, while waiting at the door for all them to be ready. She adjusted her outfit, and ran her hands through her red hair, making sure she looked decent before seeing everyone else again.

  As Eddie parked up his car at the school, he couldn't wipe the excited grin from his face. He liked the boarding school, but in all honesty, he loved it even more because it wasn't home. He was so damn glad to be back at school. The summer had been as bad as he'd expected. When his father wasn't being awful and argumentative with him, the pair simply didn't acknowledge each other. The latter action being preferable to Eddie. He'd spent some nights camping out with some of his childhood friends, but even then he had to take his laptop, telescope and whatever other gadgets he could with him. It was fun getting drunk and looking at the sky through a telescope. He'd made sure to bring the telescope along with him to school.
  
  Eddie's skinny frame struggled to carry all of his bags at once, so he had to make a couple of trips between his car and his dorm. Somewhere in his bags were clothes, but mostly it was electronics and gadgets weighing everything down. He was quite excited to be the first one into his dorm. Not because he didn't like other people, but because it gave him the chance to choose the area of the room with the best WiFi signal and the optimal stargazing window. His clothes remained packed on his bed as he focused on setting up his geeky work area. Luckily, he'd brought his own extension cables and plug sockets. This was his second year at the school and in his first he didn't get to choose his bed, which is why he was so eager this time around.
  
  Satisfied with his setup, he still ignored his clothes and instead sent a text to Dylan. "Are you here yet? What are you up to?"

Parker grinned as Beck pretty much picked her up and spun her around, laughing lightly. It was nice to be back here with people that liked her for who she was, and didn't make fun of her quirks. She turned to face the other too girls as they entered the room, greeting them was a smile and a wave. Parker definitely was the least talkative of the group, more reserved. Almost the total opposite of Beck. But that's what made Parker like these girls so much. They were different from her, but still made her feel included and wanted. At the mention of meeting up with the boys, Parker blushed slightly and glanced away, shifting a bit uncomfortably. Though she had met a few of them, such as Beck's brother, she hadn't really talked to any of the guys much. It made her feel awkward to be around them, a consequence of the guys at her old school bullying her beyond belief.

Nevertheless, Parker wanted to spend time with her friends, and her stomach growled in hunger. She had forgotten to eat that day, too excited and nervous from school starting up again. "Yeah, that sounds fun. I'm always up for free food and people watching," Parker added. Though if she were to be people watching, she definitely wanted to bring her camera. Parker turned back to her bed and unzipped her bag, searching for the camera case inside. Once she found it, she pulled out the Nikon, quickly examining the lens before throwing the strap over her shoulder. She tilted her head as Katia and Beck mentioned Cade, biting her lip slightly. From what Parker had heard about the athlete, he didn't believe that dancing was a sport, much to Beck's anger. The two had never really got along. "So are we heading out then?"

Dylan smiled and nodded as Avery explained his department, pushing his glasses back up his nose. "The arts people are interesting but I'm sure you'll like it, everyone loves it here. I'm in academics, science and math mostly"
Then, as the boy asked if he could go down with him to the welcome back 'festivities' he lightly nodded "yea course, I'm just gonna see if my friend Eddies here yet" he brought his phone back up to his gaze and realized the friend in question had already texted him, swiftly he responded 'Got here a little while ago, bout to head down to the courtyard to meet Beck and her friends. You coming?' He was going to go out in the hall to see what dorm Eddie was in but before he could get out there he heard his sisters shouts. "Of course..."
The nerds face turned bright red as he stepped out seeing she had already sprinted away down the stairs, a small chuckle finally escaping his lips as he noticed the other boys laughing. Beck always made sure people were laughing, that's why everyone here loved her so easily.

Beck grinned as they all showed some interest in going down to the opening day barbecue kinda thing. "Yes food, let's gooo!" The girl smiled, fixing her hat once more before beginning her way out of the room and down the stairs. She almost went past the fourth floor but paused. "Wait wait wait!" She turned and cupped her hands around her mouth. "Attention! We are looking for the nerds, Dylan Nicole, Eddie Holden, hurry your asses up we are getting food!" And with that the currently over excited girl blasted down the stairs. Since it was the first day the monitors were a little less strict since technically she never went on thier floor. The blonde liked embarrassing her brother and his friends, knowing how close he and Eddie got when Eddie came in her year.
Once outside there were banners and tables with food and drinks, Beck turning to the girls "finally food!"
The dancer now was hyper, but it wouldn't last. Once she has to get into a routine of getting up early she'll have a bit more of a sharp tounge and less of a bounce to her. "What are we eating first kiddos?"

  Eddie looked to his phone as a text came through and smiled as he read Dylan's reply. Out of his friends, Dylan was the most like him. Sure, that meant they were both nerdy, but they simply just got along really well, both being relatively shy and unassuming. 'Awesome. I'll be there in a flash!' he replied to his friend's text. He then casually began to leave his dorm, not quite sure when his roommates would arrive, but figuring he'd have plenty of time to chat with them later.
  
  As he exited the dorm, he heard a female voice shouting that she was looking for the nerds. He couldn't help but laugh to himself. It was clearly Dylan's sister, Beck, and certainly not unlike her at all. She was quite energetic and upbeat, which he found really funny.
  
  Eddie eventually caught up to Dylan and tapped him on the shoulder. "Hey Dylan. How's it going? Excited to be back?" he asked. The smile on Eddie's face made it more than clear he was happy to be back. "I'm so glad summer is over with so we can get back to studying!" he told him. It wasn't even the slightest bit of a joke.

Evie felt her excitement growing. She moved to hug each of her friends in turn, and then Beck mentioned the gathering downstairs. She'd seen them on her way in, and had almost stopped for a hot dog, but decided against it. Now she was glad she had skipped it. "I'm so down for food and boys." She waggled her eyebrows suggestively, watching as Parker grabbed her camera.

She made sure she had her phone on her before following Beck, Parker and Katia out of the room. They headed down the stairs, and Evie almost rammed right into Beck as she stopped to call out to the people on the fourth floor. Evie burst into giggles at Beck's shout, and then the four girls moved on-- rather quickly-- to get downstairs.

Bursting outside, Evie looked around. "Everything smells so delicious." She said, her eyes landing on a guy a few tables away. "I'll take one of him, please."

"Nice to meet you, Avery." Cade shook the other guys hand. He could tell he wasn't a sports major, but that was fine by him. He was pretty accepting of most in this school, although there was one department that he just didn't think belonged there: dance. Any idiot could shake their ass and pretend to have talent.

It just so happened that Dylan's sister, Beck, was a dancer here. Cade and Beck definitely did not get along, and their fighting had gone past playful more than once. He just couldn't help it; he didn't see the point in the dance department. It wasn't a true sport, and that would always be his argument. He never expected Dylan to take sides, though, and the guy was good at staying neutral. Cade had to hand it to him.

As if thinking of her made her appear, he heard Beck's loud voice from down the hall and resisted the urge to groan. "Is this gonna start already?" He muttered to himself, running a hand through his hair.

Angel had been patiently waiting for this drawn out orientation to be over already. It seemed completely useless to him but they had a lot of snacks placed around so he couldn't really complain. He happily munched on some of the softest chocolate chip cookies that he'd ever had while his parents cried on either side of him as they weren't ready to let their little boy go off on his own yet. They were fully aware that he was more than talented to keep up with the older kids and that Angel would make friends in no time at all so they weren't too worried about him. Once the orientation speech had finally ended, his dad ruffled Angel's wild mane of hair that resembled his mother's and trapped him in a strong bear hug. Angel tapped on his back, "Dad....I'm dying, can't breathe..." After a few more tears his parents left him alone to mingle amongst the students since they had already helped him get all of his belongings in his room.

Angel looked around the area before hearing a pretty loud group coming outside in his direction, it made Angel wish that he had friends that came with him too. He found himself still eating the addicting cookies and desperately trying to keep his hair out of his mouth. After the third failed attempt, Angel ran his hand through it carefully to flip a majority of it to the left side. Angel could feel a few of the students looking at him and was surprised that none of them tried to talk to him, every time he made eye contact they would look away quite fast. "Is it because they don't think I speak English", his French accent seemed to flow naturally when he spoke and it wasn't nearly as strong as his dad's. Angel thought back to the scene where his parents were crying and telling him how much they loved him in his native tongue and figured that that would probably keep most people at bay. He felt his phone buzzing so he checked it which led to a childish smile spreading across his face, Angel had received a picture from his parents that showed both of them wishing him luck although they were still crying at the time.

Avery smiled thankfully as he was told that everyone had loved it here, as well as Dylan's departments. He had the feeling that it would've had something to do with academics and if it had been anything else Avery would've been surprised to say the least. He sincerely hoped that this place wasn't going to be anything like his last school, as just the thought of it sent a sudden chill down his spine. He looked back up when Dylan mentioned something about texting his friend Eddie, and might've asked who Eddie was before he heard a loud shout from a girl coming from the end of the hall. Everyone else seemed to know who it was and he had the feeling that he would see her later, possibly it was one of the girls they were going down to the food court to see.

Thinking about the food court made him a bit hungry, as he hadn't eaten since breakfast yesterday. He had been too busy packing and by the time he was done he collapsed and went straight to sleep.

He then turned to look as another person arrived next to the group of three, greeting Dylan. Was this the Eddie that he had just said he was going to text? It was possible that it was, and it was also possible that it was just someone else Dylan knew, as he seemed to be pretty popular around here. His head tilted to the side curiously a bit as he said he was happy to get back to studying, although Avery guessed it might've been because his department had something to do with academics. Still, it was the first time he had heard anyone say they were happy to get back to studying. Everyone at his old school seemed to enjoy burning their school books than opening them, and while he didn't mind it all that much, he'd rather have gone back to homeschooling at the time.

Parker blushed slightly when she met Evie's gaze, seeing her wiggle her eyebrows suggestively. Parker was the least likely in the group to talk to boys, that was for sure. She was shyer than the other girls, less comfortable being around guys. She followed them down the stairs, giggling softly as Beck yelled down the hallway for her brother and his friend. Parker often wished she could have Beck's personality. But she was far too introverted for that. Pushing the thought away, Parker followed the girls continued on down the stairs until they finally reached the "Welcome Back BBQ" area.

Parker followed Evie's gaze, looking towards the guy. She immediately turned away and shook her head. "He's all yours," Parker said to Evie with a light smile. She held her camera in both hands as she glanced around the outside area, searching for good lighting. Peering through her camera, Parker adjusted the lens, taking a few photographs of students chatting, laughing, and eating. Though her best camera work was done when she was out in nature, Parker was still a decent general photographer. Turning to face her friends, she took a couple of shots of them with a small smile. "There's a lot of new faces this year."

Katia Everglade

Katia followed her friends out of their dorm room and down the corridor. She followed down the stair case and stopped as Beck yelled down the corridor for Dylan and Eddie. She smiled, amused at her friend, and then quickly ran down the stairs after her, excited to finally get some food. She wasn’t as close with the guys as she was with the girls of course, but she was still good friends with them. She knew that Cade and Beck didn’t get as long as much, because of the dance debate, but really, Katia didn’t mind him. Katia got a long with most people, she was always just happy to have people around and to interact with.

As they walked outside, Katia grinned at the smell of the all the food and all of the new students that were walking around. “Look at all the new people! Maybe we’ll make some new friends this year!” She exclaimed as they continued walking around. She also took time to look at the different food options, trying to figure out where they should even start.

“Are we going to wait for the guys before we get food?” Katia asked the others, while looking around. “I don’t see them yet, I swear they take forever!” She jokingly complained, while heading towards an area of food that didn’t look as crowded. “Let’s go in this direction!”

Dylan laughed lightly as he heard Cades grumble of a comment in regards to his sister, though didn't make a comment as he felt a tap on his shoulder and smiled when he saw Eddie. "Hey! Yea definitely! I'm excited to have the lab, I haven't done any actual experiments since June only calculations" Dylan progressively got more excited talking about the schools fancy lab with his equally nerdy friend but he could imagine it probably wasn't as interesting to the arts and athletics guys that were also walking with them. "Well, we should probably meet the girls before they come back"
Heading down the stairs Dylan kept his head down, preferring to blend in when he went through the halls, making his way outside and meekly waving at the group of girls. He was used to them kinda since last year when they came here they almost were always with his sister so he talked to them a fair bit. "Hey guys what's up?"

Beck laughed lightly as she heard Evies comment her eyes following hers to the boy. "Damn, I'd have that in a bun with some ketchup" she teased with a wink before moving glancing over to see were Katia wanted them to go. "Yea ok - WAIT I see the guys!" She waved at her brother and his friends, though seeing someone new with them. "Hey Ed! How ya doing" The girl smiled and gave the nerd a tight hug. "I'm sure Dylan was happy to get his dork partner back" she teased the two with a wink. While she did joke with them a lot the two academic guys had basically saved her ass by tutoring her last year so she did love them both. "Hey I'm Beck, Dylan's sister" the girl smiled and gave the new student a gentle nod before her eyes then shifted to the jock, her expression dropping. "Oh you're here too, welcome back." Her voice was a little colder as she spoke, her distaste for him on her tongue. He didn't understand dancing so he hated it, she'd love to see him try. "Ok ok, more chatting and introductions over food!"

Despite the fact that he wasn't Beck's biggest fan, he was friends with her brother, so he followed Dylan and Avery out into the hallway and down the stairs to the courtyard. Another guy, Eddie, joined them on the way down. While Dylan kept his head down and preferred to get through the crowd, Cade greeted the people he knew on the way down, usually with a loud hey and a high five.

He got outside about a minute or two after the other three guys, his socializing keeping him back a ways. He caught up to the group with a fast paced walk, grinning at the four girls. Or technically, three of them, because Beck greeted him with a cool attitude right off the bat. Instead of getting irritated, he just flashed his dazzling grin at her and nodded. "I am back, Beck, you can bet your ass on that. You know, doing the athletics this school actually needs. Where's the food?" Done with the conversation, he looked away, at the tables nearby that sported many plates and platters. "I'm freakin' starving."

Evie grinned as the group of guys caught up to them, and she gave Eddie, Dylan, and Cade a hug. She looked at the new guy that Beck had just introduced herself to, shrugged, and pulled him in for a hug too. "I'm Evie, one of the best singers at this school." She winked at him so he'd know she was teasing-- though only partially.

She heard Cade's comment towards Beck and immediately turned to look at the two of them. "We are not doing this on the firs day." She snapped at Cade, glaring. She took Beck's side, plain and simple. She'd done some dancing in the few videos she's done and also just for fun, and she believed it was as much of a sport as what Cade did. "Go get yourself something to eat, Cade, you're being a dick." Over his shoulder, she caught sight of someone with extremely curly hair, and she immediately nudged Beck. "I'm jealous of his hair." She said, not bothering to lower her voice.
