Nina’s family was one of the noble families who were originally commoners. They have been fighting tooth and nail to cement their place in high society. To the point that they tried to train their daughter to be a subservient woman, that way they could marry her off to someone with a higher class than them and solidify their place among the nobles. There was also a lot of mental and emotional abuse that went into it and they kinda succeeded. But they also made their daughter believe that she was less of a person than anyone else. Oops I guess.

Haven’s royalty consists of a standard monarchy: there's a King and a Queen, Dukes and duchesses. Those sort of positions. But they also have a council of six leading figures. Each the head of a different government. They are called the councilmen. And their power is second to the King himself. Other than that, the ruling style is relatively normal. The current King is a relatively fair and unbiased man. He is not very direct however, which leads to many injustices getting past his gaze. Haven‘s commoners are usually kept separate from the high class people. Living in or even near the high class areas of Haven is extremely expensive. Too expensive for commoners. And most non noble families who try to move there are hazed by their neighbors until they move. All except a few houses were able to withstand this treatment and actually make a name for themselves. It’s not all bad for Haven's commoners, they are an accepting and culture rich community. Haven has a very large territory full of bountiful plant life. However, about half of it is uninhabited. With its large array of available herbs, there are also a multitude of poisonous plants.

Hadassah always wears the finest clothes and the finest gems. She isn't huge on fashion but always feels a need to be looking nice, even if it's just to go to bed. Typically her wardrobe is full of traditional and trendy styles of her home country, but when abroad she'll choose to adapt to the place she's visiting. Her hair is well taken care of and usually braided into intricate designs on her scalp and simple once it gets to the body, or left natural at the bottom altogether. - History

Even outside the borders of Sweiso, there is little negative opinion about the small country. Its size might serve as grounds of criticism for some, but a frighteningly strong military makes it a difficult stance to have. With almost impenetrable protection at the borders, rich lands for farming, and a history of strong diplomacy, Sweiso itself is quite well known. Modernly, King Kihuwen is a familiar name and face. He's charismatic, kind, and alongside his wife, they have almost a perfect reputation. On behalf of Sweiso, they're always quick to extend a hand to other states, regardless of its background.Mother :
She used to scare Hadassah when she was a kid, because she was very harsh when it comes to how she holds herself. Now, Hadassah has grown out of intimidation since she knows she does well for herself, and she's grown indifferent to her. Her mother is quiet so they don't really talk, even during social events.
Father :
When she was younger, she would misread her father's kindness in public as him being loving and get confused when they were in private and he would continue to be neglectful, but now she has a full understanding that their relationship is more business and doesn't expect anything. They get along decently during events but are also pretty indifferent to each other otherwise.
Elder Brother :
Being six years older, he's never really batted an eye towards Hadassah because of his own time growing accustomed to the non-sentimental dynamics of their family. He doesn't even try to put up airs, but because he treats her without any tension just as he would a random stranger, there haven't really been any issues. Just like her parents, Hadassah is also indifferent with him like he feels with her.
Although, in private, those hands rarely extend behind them.
Hadassah is the second born of two children in the royal family, and the only daughter. For some, this could ensure value in one's position in the family, but for Hadassah, it wasn't too different from her not existing at all. At least, not to her parents, or even her older brother. Not unless she was needed for a political decision.
Raised by nannies, maids, and tutors, Hadassah only really conversed with her parents during public events. She's certain they hardly know her age, let alone anything else of importance to her. Their relationship was more political and business-oriented than it was about their blood connection.
All she had to do was keep up appearances as instructed outside of the castle; there was no need to concern themselves with one another otherwise. Her brother was even worse--at least her parents acknowledged her existence when they crossed paths. With him, she might as well have been invisible.
Her role was played perfectly. Perfect posture, graceful movements, well-spoken when addressed, and silent when not. She took any directions without complaint, and had enough of a mind to lead well in noble society but not so much that she was challenging or disobedient.
Although her reputation was well enough in public, Hadassah grew up with controlled social appearances and little opportunity to form close friends like others her age. Some of those working for the royal family she was close to, sure, but none her age, and that put enough of a barrier between them. She didn't really need a healthy social life at this point, anyway. After all, she has a well-fostered imagination.
Outside of her studies, the princess took to books and the library to be whisked away from her static and lonely life. In her favorite adventure novels, the main characters were out-spoken, spontaneous, independent, and fun. Even if they happened to be alone, there was always something fantastical about their stories. The closest thing she'd ever get to that would be the family she'd eventually be married into.
Honestly, Hadassah already accepted her duties and her role in this life, so it wasn't as though she was against an arranged marriage. Rather than being in constant remorse, she could only day-dream and hope for the best in the cards that would be laid out for her. She hoped the family that she'd be arranged to marry into were more lively and loving than hers, and that she wouldn't be too far from Sweiso so she could keep in touch with her few loved ones.
Despite some of the fun stories she's read or been told, Hadassah didn't want to run away, nor did she care too much about how she wouldn't marry for love. She didn't think too much about how she wouldn't be able to pursue her own passions beyond reading, honestly because she became quite dedicated to the quality of life of her subjects, anyway. Ever since the assassination attempt from her childhood, Hadassah has been overly conscious of the people that risk their lives to protect her simply because of her status.
While Sweiso often goes through great lengths to avoid war, even excusing attempts at invasion (well, at least publicly), there have still been plenty of times they were under attack. They're the smallest country in their area, and yet, wealthier than a lot of them. Many nations want to conquer their rich lands and have Sweiso be part of their empire. When she was about 12 years old, there was a failed assassination attempt--one of her bodyguards, a woman that she had known since before she could remember, died right before her eyes.
For Hadassah, it was an eye-opener. She hadn't thought herself to be very important because of her parents' uninterest, but one guard throwing their life away for her wellbeing showcased exactly what the soldiers were there for: the royal family, and her. Her life was above theirs in status, and above many in the country. Ever since then, she's decided to give her life to her country and its subjects just as they did for her.
Now, the princess has decided to pursue further education abroad with permission from her parents about a year after becoming of age. Although she's been studying diligently all these years, Hadassah knows that going abroad would offer so much more than what she can get from the same tutors in her small country. Plus, it'll be good practice for languages aside from her mother-tongue. She wants to be the best leader she can be, even if she isn't Queen.
She believes she's prepared enough, but honestly, Hadassah doesn't know half of how different things will be at the academy compared to her stagnant life at the castle. Still, for her, that isn't exactly a bad thing. She's wanted to have an adventure. - Psyche

VirtuesCharismatic :
- As expected of someone representing Sweiso, Hadassah has an undeniable charm about her when she interacts with others. She was taught to be socially adept and conscious of everyone around her in order to effectively navigate whatever is thrown at her. She's skilled at mediating and getting on someone's good side, but just as skilled at keeping quiet when appropriate and having little presence.
Disciplined :- The strict upbringing that resulted in Hadassah's skills as a diplomat is what resulted in her having strong self-discipline in general. She's the living opposite of gluttonous and despite her strong personality, is able to hold her tongue, no matter how strongly she may feel about something. She has nearly perfect posture and holds herself as one may expect of a princess. Gracefulness is practically second nature at this point.
Intelligent :- Aside from her strong dedication to her studies over the years that provided her with so much knowledge, Hadassah is just naturally intelligent. She's a fast learner and has a good memory, and she's also very observant to her surroundings, especially in social settings. She's a fast thinker and is very well spoken as well, so when appropriate, she can be quite witty.
Optimistic :- Hadassah is always one to keep positive and look to the brighter side of things. Still, she's smart enough to not let her optimism get to be unrealistic, so it's rare for it to dip into naivety or toxicity.
Imaginative :- Spending a lot of her time alone and without kids her age meant she often had to entertain herself. Especially because almost all of this free time was spent in the library, Hadassah has a strong imagination that was well fostered over the years.
Compassionate :- It may not be easy for her to empathize with things beyond her own experience, but no one can say that Hadassah isn't kind or that she can't at least offer sympathy. She has a big heart and is quick to help and give to others, and is quite passionate about it. She's also very open minded from the way she was educated; Sweiso's strong involvement with other countries meant being taught a lot about other cultures, and that meant many nobles being accepting and unprejudiced when it comes to ways of life that are foreign to them.
Fun-Loving :- Although she can't always act on it, Hadassah is actually pretty light-hearted and loves to have a good time. She usually takes to adventurous and fantastical novels because of this. She has a lot of spontaneity with her that is just itching to get out, and isn't nearly as rigid as she's forced to be.
VicesPeople Pleaser :- Hadassah was raised to be close to perfect in noble society. When she did well at events, that was almost the only time she got acknowledgement from her parents, and the way she was praised--she was taught early on that her value was determined by her ability to be the ideal doll as a princess. As a result, she needs everyone to like her, and can get anxious and uncomfortable when someone doesn't. Her lack of healthy social interaction also results in her having pretty low standards when it comes to friends; she isn't a complete doormat, but she doesn't expect people to give her the same loyalty and care she would give them in a relationship. Not exactly because of low self esteem, but because she doesn't think it's owed in a relationship, even if she doesn't think twice about offering that sort of consideration. If someone were to take advantage of her kindness or manipulate her under the guise of friendship, she wouldn't really recognize it, let alone stand up herself.
Lonely :- Just because Hadassah is used to not really having friends or a real family doesn't mean the loneliness developed from early on in her childhood hasn't vanished. She's quite aware of this as well. She craves friendship and bonds like the ones she reads about, and is heavily emotionally dependent on the few close people she has back home.
Reserved :- Another downside of her strict upbringing are the walls she was taught to keep up at all times. Hadassah lived her life as nothing more than a pawn and doll for her country's political gain, whose only purpose was obedience. Unless it's someone she's comfortable and close with, Hadassah doesn't speak unless spoken to, and is always paying extra care to her appearance. She's hardly truthful or forthcoming about how she's really thinking or feeling, and won't bat a single eye before lying. She's pretty good at it, too.
Spoiled :- This isn't really surprising given her upbringing. Even if her privileges were limited, Hadassah has lived a life of luxury and hasn't faced any sort of hardship beyond emotional. She's not foreign to the concept of "no", but she wouldn't survive a day of camping where she can't shower in a spotless bathroom and sleep on a comfortable bed with silk sheets, after eating a decent meal. She's picky because she's never had to settle, and she's not very aware of it, either. Also, she doesn't do bugs. At all.
Stubborn :- Hadassah's stubbornness doesn't really come to light until she's more comfortable with someone, but when it does, it can be quite bothersome. She doesn't set her mind on things very often since her life has been laid out for her, either, so the few things she does, it's hard to get her to change that decision.
Judgmental :- Hadassah has greatly internalized the standards she was raised on. As a result, she tends to look at others through those same, strict lenses; even though she hardly ever brings it up, she notes when a certain woman isn't holding herself the way she deems appropriate, if someone doesn't look very presentable, if they aren't talking a certain way--it's almost gratifying for her sometimes.
Merciless :- Despite the kindness Hadassah may have for others, it all washes away the moment they mess things up. When slighted, she's very unforgiving, and the punishments she deems worthy are never made with compassion in mind. Much like her father, she can be quite cold-hearted when provoked, and it's rare for her to ever regret it.
