Crickets are natures thermometer? The warmer it is the faster they'll chirp/sing? They're cold blooded so they tend to be more active when it's warmer.

Here's a fun story for all to enjoy about the importance of feeding crickets to reptiles. My neighbor was asked to feed a friends lizard because they were going away on vacation. She was given basic instructions, no problems. When the guy got back home we came to a tank that had a lizard skeleton and an overpopulated tank of crickets. They multiplied too fast and ate the lizard.
