Hello and thank you all for your interest in this group! I know that sometimes groups that have to approve your character can be intimidating, but that's not my goal here. I'm just looking to give everyone a fair shot : ). Please use the following code to do your CS!

  CHILDHOOD
  

  Born into the big wonderful family of Phora, it wasn’t long before she joined in on becoming an actual demon of a child. She cried, she screamed, she hit and threw tantrums, anything the moment attention was turned away from her or she was denied anything. Especially when it came to her siblings, her emotions seemed out of control. Did she ask for a toy one of her siblings had and they politely refused? Cue the biggest tantrum in the history of Phora. They got their gems before she did? Adelaide actually had a huge meltdown that lasted days and tried to fight them on sight.
  
  She had her good moments and was relatively good at her studies as her family had found a teacher who could handle her. When her siblings left off for their own training and education, she found herself lonelier and her temper left her. She didn’t ever really have a chance to play with other children due to her temper and she was strictly forbidden from interfering with their training, not that it stopped her at first. When all failed and she was stuck alone, she started closing herself off, starting to truly understand how her past actions in the last ten years dug her grave and didn’t want to add to it anymore. Her teacher noticed this change and put her on to the fantasy genre of books. That was when she truly started to love reading fantasy and started to make her home in the library.
  
  At the age of thirteen, much like her siblings, she got her elemental jewel. It was in the form of a beautiful golden necklace and the moment she accepted and wore it, smoke originated around her giving little clue to her powers.

  
  

  
  

  TEEN YEARS
  

  
  Adelaide lived out the start of her teen years learning her powers. She stayed close to her siblings but was also happy to live in the library with her fantasy books. It was a quiet place and a place she considered herself safe from her siblings' antics and somewhere she could take a break from everything. She eventually ran out of fantasy and wandered her way into philosophy. She had a love hate relationship with philosophy, the subject could either make or ruin her day depending on what she read but nevertheless found herself fascinated with the subject. Of course, she never stopped bugging her siblings, especially when the twins pulled pranks on her. Adelaide would not hesitate to punch either of them as hard as she could to show them she wasn’t messing around.
  
  Though her bickering with them lessened after her brother, Anastacius, had a vision of their mothers death. She was fourteen at the time but she took it as seriously as everyone else. Her mother was always kind towards her especially when she was acting like a demon child. The thought that a strong woman like her would die, much less be assassinated in their own kingdom, terrified her. She often dug her nose into the kitchen to watch the staff and would often hide and get rid of any goblets. She’d get scolded for this and her only reason was that it was a harmless prank.
  
  One night, she was careless. She had stayed up all night reading the night before so she wasn’t very attentive the day of a ball that was being thrown. She heard a scream and much like her siblings ran over to find their mother’s body.

  Adelaide has grown up to be a perfect lady to those who view her in a formal setting. For those that didn’t, she was still quiet but with more of an attitude. She appreciates the silence of a room with no people but still always makes time for her siblings. When Anastacius left, she wrote him letters every day and demanded souvenirs from him. After the death of her mother, she became weary of his state of mind and always made it clear in her letters she was there for him before following it with a few jokes to keep a light-hearted relationship with him. When he came back, she still kept to herself but came out of her room more. Nothing was normal since that night and she hoped they could reach that state of normalcy again.
  
  She is good in her studies but buried herself in philosophy and fantasy books. Her social skills are lacking but it’s nothing she ever concerned herself with. Balls and festivals thrown would be perfect events where she could slip away from public eyes and hide away after her siblings were off on their own socializing. However when their father announced to them that they would be going to the Festival of Fantasy, her heart dropped. It wasn’t like she hadn’t thought about marriage before but it wasn’t something she wished for. She thought of it as a dreadful affair, scared to get someone she would absolutely hate and not get along with. It didn't happen that way and she has some regrets of not taking time to bond with her more. Though Adelaide knew in her heart that if Alera could take the throne, no one would oppose and she would back her up. When he left, she sent letters everyday and recounted all of her mischievous happenings.     even-tempered: anastacius does not get angry easily. when things go awry, he just gives it a good laugh and either makes the problems worse or walks away from it. however, when he does get angry, it’s not a good idea to be in his presence.
    outgoing: our prince could be compared to a golden retriever, happy to see anyone he meets (even though half of the time he likes to poke fun).
    loyal: willing to fight and defend for those he deeply cares about. he may not look like it, but like a dog, he will never betray his loved ones and is always loyal to them.

    mischievous: similar to his brother, anastacius thrives on teasing others and watching their reactions. he loves getting a rise out of his sisters, maybe it’s because he loves them dearly so much that he wants to see them squirm from his pranks.
    an idiot: he’s not much into academics, maybe that is why he prefers to not take the throne (also probably because it’s a lot of responsibility for our care-free prince). so he’s easily deceived.
    avoids change: anastacius is content with how his life is and becomes anxious whenever a big change happens in his life, such as he and his siblings find love matches at the festival of fantasy. it’s unsure why he is so afraid of change but he tends to lash out more when he is dysregulated.
    selfish: he only focuses on himself. yes, he’s cheery and is empathetic but when it comes down to it, the decisions anastacius makes is for his own benefit. when he went on a sabbatical for two years, he didn’t think about how his decision impacted his family members. he doesn’t think that his decisions affect others because he only thinks of himself.

    Childhood
    

    Anastacius was born a couple of minutes before his brother on the summer solstice. Which was quite fitting for a prince compared to a rising sun: bright, beautiful, and very annoying to some, if not all. Despite being older, he never took charge of the mischief he and his brother would concoct. But it may be because he might not be as bright as Atticus.
    
    As Anastacius grew up, he was always causing trouble with his brother. It certainly drove the Phora sisters bonkers. His father was adamant about making the silly prince king despite the odds against that notion. The young Anastacius was vigorously pushed into his academics, sword-fighting, and other tedious tasks to prepare him to be the next ruler. However, Anastacius “half-assed” his studies and barely showed up for his sword-fighting lessons. Instead, he would goof around with his brother while patronizing his sisters since that makes him happy the most: being around his loved ones.
    
    When Anastacius became of age to receive his gem, he was overjoyed because he was allowed to see the future—sometimes. His visions would pop up randomly whenever he would wear his golden amulet with a deep emerald gem in the middle. One time he was wearing his amulet while bathing and had a vision of one of the Phora twins’ pranks succeeding with their sisters. It was a prank that neither of the boys even thought of, so which came first? The vision or the idea of the prank?
    
    Basically, Anastacius had a carefree childhood of messing around.

    
    

    
    

    Teen Years
    

    Once Anastacius became of age to receive his royal gem, he was a bit more determined to actually participate in his studies and sword-fighting. Although he should have been more serious about it when he was younger, he ended up being trained by knights. However, the knights were exasperated by the prince’s behaviors and silly conversations. Many did not last even a month with him. Finally, around his late teens, he got a personal guard who somehow managed to stick with him for over a month and counting.
    
    When Anastacius was sixteen years old, he sunbathed in the middle of the royal gardens when he suddenly had a vision. He sat upright, wide-eyed and sweating even more than he already was. Anastacius was very close with his mother like all his siblings were, he assumed. The queen of Phora was never one that pushed any of her children to do things they didn’t want to do, and Anastacius was beyond grateful for that.
    
    However, the prince’s vision left him in a panic. His vision showed him that his mother was happily drinking wine out of her goblet when suddenly she began clutching her chest and gasping for air. When finally, she collapses on the stone-cold floors--dead. The young prince rushed to inform his siblings of the news, and the four devised a plan to prevent their mother from being around any goblets or wines. Months passed, and he and his siblings worked diligently to keep a watchful eye that could endanger their mother’s life.
    
    But then, they were careless for a night.
    
    There was a ball at the Phora castle, and everyone was invited, including other kingdoms. The Phora siblings were up to their usual shenanigans when suddenly, there was a scream. Everyone in the castle rushed to see what the commotion was about. Like Anastacius’s vision from many months ago, there his mother was... laying dead with a spilled goblet of wine across the floor.
    
    And to this day, nobody knows who murdered the queen of Phora.

    
    

    
    

    Currently
    

    When Anastacius became an adult, he became a bachelor many men and women fawned over. It obviously didn’t help that after the death of his mother, he spent two years in the Middle East, where he came back with a new wardrobe and forever having sun-kissed skin. He also hasn’t worn his amulet much for fear of seeing the future that his loved ones would be harmed. He didn’t want the responsibility of knowing others’ futures.
    
    Ever since Anastacius returned from his sabbatical, he reverted to his old ways. Which were not putting in the effort in his academics and sword-fighting, much to his father’s dismay. The king of Phora has been urging him to find a partner suitable to help him run the kingdom. Anastacius is still surprised at how persistent his father is about making him ruler, even though he has no interest in running a country. If the prince could choose, he’d like to isolate himself on a warm island with his beloved brother while harassing his poor sisters while dragging his poor knight along for the ride.
    
    So when the king ordered the siblings to attend the Festival of Fantasy, Anastacius’s heart dropped. They were all expected to find a partner at this festival. Still, the prince has absolutely no interest in finding somebody romantically. His walls have been built so high that it would be hard for any stranger to pass through, especially since his mother died.     charming- Iris had to be charming in order to schmooze her way into high society. with her intoxicating smiles and the constant batting of her eyelids when she acts as if she’s embarrassed when people compliment her, it’s no wonder why the high class find her so irresistible.
    
    ambitious- as someone whose only drive is to be queen of a country (and maybe complete world domination), one has to be ambitious. iris worked hard to be where she is today. she started from nothing and used her resources and ambition to be duchess in the kingdom of tairis.
    
    clever- how did she become part of the high class if she started from the slums as an orphan? of course, she used her clever brain to get there. manipulating those around her to rise above the ranks and with a stroke of luck, managed to get her late husband to sign her off as designated heir to their land right before he died. now that she’s a widow and ready to mingle, she’ll use her clever brain once again to wrangle in a prince or a princess as her spouse.

    selfish- iris is very one-tracked minded and only focuses on herself. she will sacrifice anyone and anything for her own benefit. some people in high society in tairis know her as the “low-class selfish bitch” who miraculously bulldozed her way in to be a duchess.
    
    
    cold- to survive, iris had to grow up being cold. she learned to not grow attachments to anyone or anything because they will leave her in the end. so, she will hurt them first before they hurt her. which makes her feel less guilty when she backstabs a person in order to achieve her goals.

    CHILDHOOD
    

    Ever since Iris could remember, she was always surviving. Always looking for the next scrap of food for the day. Always looking for the next best place to sleep. Always wondering if she was going to live the next day. Her mother was hardly there, sleeping during the day and disappearing at night. Sometimes, when Iris did see her mother, she would spiel dreams of having a better future and that her daughter needed to get out of the slums somehow. To be better than she is now. Of course, as a child, Iris had no idea how to get out of being poor. The rich always spat in her face or kicked her to the side of the road like some scum.
    
    When Iris came back to her makeshift home, her mother wouldn't wake up. And so, Iris made a vow to her mother that she will have a better future.
    
    The young orphan came up with a plan to try to infiltrate the upper class. That way she could learn the ways of the high class and receive a better education. One day she peered and noticed some posh children playing near a lake. A dark thought flashed in her mind and Iris decided to act upon the thought. She threw a rock at one of the kids and the child ended up falling into the lake, unable to swim. Iris quickly dove into the lake to save the child and was deemed a hero. When the parents came to ask what had happened, the children noted that someone threw a rock at the drowning child and Iris blamed it on a homeless passerby.
    
    The parents of the child that Iris had saved were so filled with gratitude that they decided to sponsor this poor, homeless orphan's education by enrolling her into an academy.
    

    
    

    
    

    TEEN YEARS
    

    Iris excelled in her academics and etiquette. She learned how to be warm and charming when needed. Although, she did not make many friends because she chose to befriend those that benefit her social standing. She became top of her class and it impressed her sponsor family so much that they ended up adopting her. Thus, she became part of a family of viscounts and viscountesses. When she became of age, her adoptive parents decided it was time for Iris to find a husband. Iris was ecstatic, she could rise even higher in ranks.
    
    It seemed like luck has been on Iris's side because she seemed to catch the eye of a duke. The Duke of Tairis was a gentle and older man who fell for Iris's beauty and charm. Just as he had fallen for her, he married her just as quickly. Soon enough, Iris gained the status of a duchess. She lived lavishly and thrived in creating laws to help her husband's land succeed. Her husband was so grateful to his wife that he named her as sole heir for the land in case he ever passed.
    
    Then right after he named Iris as his sole heir to his land, the Duke of Tairis strangely passed due to unknown circumstances. There was much chatter amongst the nearby towns in Tairis that it was Iris that poisoned her late husband.
    
    Though, that's a secret she would never tell.

    Years after the Duke of Tairis passed, Iris became bored. She accomplished her goals of having a better future and getting all that she ever wanted. She felt... stuck. Iris was running her land well, even though her people do not like her particularly well because she never interacted with them. Why would she though? The only benefit the people living in her land have to her is running the place, and nothing more. But, why does she feel bored?
    
    Then, an idea popped into her head. Since she is single and hasn't been married in such a long time... why doesn't she snag a prince or a princess? Iris is not even at the highest ranking yet, she could be the queen of some country if she wanted to. She had a duke fall for her, so she supposed that having a prince or princess falling for her would be just as easy.     When Iris was scavenging the trash for something to eat as a child, the irresistible scent of pork filled her nose and it made her lick her lips. God, she hasn't had meat in so long. So she dove into the trash to find where the scent of pork was coming from. Her eyes widened in shock to see the most beautiful and delicious-looking pork bone leg she has as ever seen. Yes, it was slightly rotting and there were flies hovering above it... but it was pork. The best meat kind of mean. As soon as Iris dove for it, another hand grabbed hold of the other end of the leg bone. With death glares and snarls, Iris and the other small child wrestled each other in the trash bins until finally, they accidentally snapped the bone. With a reluctant defeat, Iris agreed to split the leg bone with the other small boy. While she and the boy were gnawing on the bone, she found out his name was Rajah and found he was also an orphan. As they talked, they realized they had similar goals and wanted to get out of the situation where they are currently. Iris thought it would be funny if they both conquered the world and get back at all of the people that wronged them.     INTELLIGENT:
    Despite the boy's natural knack for tomfoolery and the ludicrous things he says, Atticus is secretly harboring a broad expanse of knowledge. He is well-read (much to most people's surprise), and can contribute fluently to many conversations. However, just because he has this skill, it does not mean he necessarily uses it to anyone's advantage. If anything, Atticus prefers to keep his scholarliness to himself other than offering off-topic and almost pointless little tidbits of information, hiding his perceptiveness and smarts from the world.
    
    BOLD:
    It is no secret that Atticus has a lot of fun causing chaos with his siblings, and while that takes a certain level of boldness, Atticus can push his way through many situations with a breeze of confident (even if it may be fake). Regardless of the boy's persistent yet well-hidden anxiety, he can find it in him to fake it until he makes it without much of a crack. Moreover, if it means taking up for someone else or helping them out, Atticus feels as though he has no choice but to persevere and do what might be needed, even if it means saying some asinine things, being rambunctious, or drawing embarrassment to himself to help another escape a situation. Of course, his boldness often bodes better for short term events, as it starts to fade out in the long-term reign of things.
    
    GOOD NATURED:
    Even though Atticus has a lot of weight on his shoulders and is a fan of wreaking havoc, his is kind-hearted and level-headed. The younger twin is not someone who angers easily, nor does he find joy in any sort of malice other than a good shenanigan.

    Atticus could be considered impulsive, at best. Often times, he lacks the decision making skills necessary to stop himself from saying or doing anything asinine, and the rest of the time, he contemplates and still chooses to be a complete fool. Big fan of "never let them know your next move" behavior, which has probably only become more advanced over the years with his siblings.
    
    INSECURE:
    Despite being a prince, Atticus does not really want the crown. The younger twin has a tendency to push things off on his siblings, expecting them to take over in ways that he doesn't want to. This, of course, stops at the ability to rule. Because of Anastacius playing around with their father's wishes, Atticus had been made to pick up the slack in ways that he never wanted to. Due to intensive lessons and training, he has excelled his older brother in most "princely" duties, though he hides it and chooses to make a fool of himself in hopes that the King will finally forgo tradition and allow Alera the crown or that Anastacius will finally step in. In the end, Atticus is left with a paralyzing fear that he can't and won't live up to the expectations of his father and the Kingdom, and his unraveling seams take shape as pretending that he has no understanding of it all. If he can act like someone who is unable, perhaps everyone will finally leave him be.
    
    FLIRTATIOUS:
    This wouldn't be such an issue if Atticus didn't often find himself getting into trouble. He loves the idea of love; however, he rejects it for himself. In his mind, love isn't for someone like him, and instead, he would rather toy around than to get too close to someone. Of course, the messing around has to be consensual from both parties to avoid hurting his or the other person's feelings.     The younger of the Phora twins was born mere minutes after his brother on the summer solstice, making him the second Phora prince to come into the family. Much like his older brother, Atticus had a knack for mischief, though he was often the one to start things. Quick-witted with a dangerous amount of time on his hands, as soon as he started getting bored, things would start going awry.
    
    First born sons are the ones to assume the throne when the time comes in the Phora family reign. Atticus had always known that, and truthfully, he was quite content to let Anastacius be the one with all the responsibility. Even more, he thought that if anyone in their family should be the one to rule, it should be their older sister. Alera had the makings of a leader, but due to the king's wants, it was pushed onto Anastacius. Unfortunately for Atticus, Anastacius seemed to have other plans.
    
    
    Receiving his gem, Atticus was both ecstatic and petrified of what the outcome could be. Much to his relief, the power given to him, aerokinesis, seemed to be almost more of a self serving gift rather than one that could be used for others (such as Anastacius’s seeing of the future). It wasn’t that Atticus didn’t want to help others where he could, but he was already quite tired of being the one pushed to step up. Finally, it felt as though he had something of his own. The boy wears his gem in a a dangly earring, often going for an unbalanced, off-kilter look that he claims looks much cooler. In reality, it was more impressive to watch his father's face when Atticus pierced his own ear specifically for his gem to be made into an earring.

    Growing up and realizing that Anastacius would openly reject taking the throne, Atticus found himself harboring an intense grudge against his father as he was constantly lectured about striving to be better, stepping up, getting himself together. However, his relationship with his mother was considerably better. There were many nights that he found himself talking with the Queen, grumbling about how he wished that Alera could just become Queen, reading alongside the woman in charge of keeping his father at bay. She never once complained and Atticus never stopped to wonder how she might feel about being the practical protector of her children.
    
    The death of the Queen of Phora changed Atticus, much like it changed all of his siblings. There was no longer anyone to keep the King from pushing and pushing the twins and the rest of the children, and Atticus felt the intense emotional strain of it. As someone who doesn’t often share his emotions, the younger twin began bottling his thoughts and feelings, diving farther into his studies to try to keep himself from unraveling. This is the time when Atticus developed his anxiety the most, finding himself unable to breathe at the thought of what was coming next, unable to trust the direction his future was headed in. In attempts to mitigate the clawing feeling of suffocation in his lungs, Atticus took up a heavy liking for poetry and for people. The poets seemed to put his emotions into words in ways that he couldn’t, and well, people were a good distraction from whatever was going on in his brain.

    One might consider Atticus's political beliefs to be on the more progressive side. At least, he's certainly more progressive than his father. Atticus rejects traditional values and believes that a woman should be able to rule if she pleases, especially if she is the first born in a lineage. He pleads with the question of, "Why not?" considering their family's current state of having a daughter as the eldest child. On top of this, Atticus quite openly detests King Leonard's great show of having a large military and being prepared for war in a time of peace. There's more to ruling than having a military, and even Atticus knows that.
    
    While Anastacius was off traveling, Atticus found himself once more picking up the pieces left at home. There was a dwindling hope that his older brother would come home a distinguished gentleman that was ready to rule and had matured, but he always knew better. Insistent as always, the King had Atticus continue his studies and kept the younger twin busy, trying to get him ready for his future in case everything fell through. During this time, Atticus found himself reaching beyond the boundaries of being 'just friends' with people, but never quite held anyone close enough for it to be considered love. More than anything, others would get sick of his lack of wanting anything serious, despite the pre-determined agreement that there would never be a truly romantic arrangement.
    
    Secretly, Atticus would love to be in love. He would adore nothing more than to be with someone who took it all away, who made his crushing reality turn into dust; be with someone who didn't have high expectations of him that he could never live up to. In the end, Atticus can't find it in himself to put the faith in someone to believe they would accept him as he is: his mischief, less than diplomatic values, his cowardice and reluctance to assume the throne.   ADVENTUROUS... Muddy footprints stamp the marble castle floors. The maids are met with the unfortunate task of cleaning and polishing the halls again for the third time this week. There are new areas and botanical friends waiting to be discovered by this curious princess. As the land watches over her, she could venture into the wilderness without fear. These moments were her secret treasures. There is no excitement in the closed walls of the royal meeting room. There's no joy in listening to the nobility squabble to fulfill their own greedy itineraries.
  
  PACIFIST... Disagreements occur naturally when meeting subjects across Bruwyth. With great patience, Lorelei has learned to put aside her childish antics and become someone who tries to be openminded and forgiving. She does her best to accommodate to everyone and ensure all end in peaceful terms. Any acts of violence and aggression frightens the princess, igniting daunting memories of a past she wishes to forget. A sour taste on her tongue and the urge to flee is ever so evident.

  GULLIBLE... Her benevolence is a double edged sword. Lorelei, with far more experience communicating with nature than with humans, has garnered a stained reputation among those of Bruwyth's peerage. Despite her mother's advice, Lorelei treated tea parties, banquets and balls like a loathsome chore. Therefore, her knowledge of trends known by (mainly) nobility is lacking and socialization skills with anyone other than trees and her twin brother are poor. Lorelei finds herself in awkward situations around those her age and falls victim to bad jokes and pranks despite her brother's attempts to shield her from harm. Instead of getting upset or angry, Lorelei is far too forgiving and merciful. It's in her nature to be optimistic and only see the good in others, rather than be wary of malicious intent.
  
  FORGETFUL... When succumbed in her own little world, Lorelei often misplaces her sense of time. A prey to falling behind schedule, Lorelei's schedule has been altered a few hours earlier than the intended arrival time to ensure she isn't tardy again. She feels guilty for her irresponsible behavior- despite her earnest that she tried her best to be on time. Moreover, others would mention names and events she can't seem to recall. Perhaps they mistook her as someone else?
  
  ESCAPIST... Without her twin brother, who's kept her grounded and present, Lorelei would have attempted to flee Bruwyth. Like a creep vine confined in a glass jar, Lorelei can be easily overwhelmed within the castle walls. She regularly seeks freedom, prefers work she can complete independently, or simply spend time alone. From time to time, Lorelei day dreams of running away to a far off place where no one can nag or coddle her- where no one can treat her like a burdensome child. In these lonesome moments, she is overcome with low spirits.

Lorelei began as a timid child- voluntarily holed up comfortably within the castle walls. Scared of shadows, bugs, loud noises, and so forth, she fled to her brother and parents for comfort. One day during the early years of her youth, her mother dragged the adamant, wailing child to a farm for inspection.

Struck with fear, cheeks stiff from tear stains, flinching from the simplest rustle of leaves, Lorelei prayed for her mother to come back. Meanwhile, a whisper came out of the blue. One whisper, then two. Back and forth, but with no sense of indication where the source came from. Distracted and forgotten about her dreadful situation, she searched for the voices. Further she went into the turnip rows...
  
  "Have you come to pick me? You are not the usual man who treks these rows, but you will do. Such small hands," a sanguine voice said. Looking down at her feet, it was a turnip- plump and bestowed with a vibrant purple cap. The princess crouched down and poked its stem. A giggle from the turnip and for the first time outside the castle, a giggle returned from Lorelei. The two spoke, with interjecting comments from neighboring vegetables, until Queen Mallean returned to retrieve her.
  
  To the Queen's surprise, a different child came running back to her with a dress soiled in dirt and a plump, purple turnip in her hands. The Queen returned to her husband that day, not even realizing their timid flower bud finally blossomed.

  Nag. Endless nagging. Lessons piled like a lead crown- drifting her further into the deep- responsibilities bounded like shackles on her ankles. Pins pricked her underfoot. Only feathers may touch the ground. Be graceful. Move like pearl fluid. Not so languid, but with purpose. The only purpose is to prove. To rule. To be accepted as rightful for the throne.
  
  Fiendish, was she. Impulsive to plunge into quests of the unknown. She was doused in drunken inquisitiveness. How far can her limits go 'til her legs falter? It was a devilish streak in her youth. The trees called out to her in the morning's wake. The vines guided her deeper where men dared not to venture. "Show me more. Let me see what I can do," she taunts at the land. A newfound love for mud, scrapes, and dirt. Lorelei returned long after the night has settled. Exhaustion nay dares to overtake her. Guess what I found," she beams with a wild look in her eyes.
  
  Adoration morphed into passive aggressive, sly remarks. A vision once describing a strong, benevolent ruler crumbled the further Lorelei succumbed to her interest to discover herself. Yet, Lorelei turned a blind eye to it all.
  
  The royal gemstone, fashioned as a cuff on the tragus of her ear, was said to be a waste. Yet, who would dare touch a hair on the princess's head? Hidden in the shadows were some rats spoiled with malevolence to rid of the princess. A narrowly escaped assassination attempt still mares Lorelei's memories. It became apparent that the King and Queen had to do something to protect their daughter and prove her worth for the kingdom. Their decision: send the princess off to help the areas in need. Farms, villages, wherever the land needed a middleman. Lorelei will be there.

  While her brother handled diplomacy and maintained the peerage, Lorelei oversaw the needs of the common-folk and dealt with issues regarding the land. A forest caught on fire? She would lead an investigation and handle the rehabilitation. The crops are dying? A sprout inspection is needed for the upcoming planting season? The water is poisoned? Lorelei gave it her all to handle it.
  
  Traveling went on for days and trips occurred spontaneously. This was what became of Lorelei's every day life and she loved every moment of it. She wondered perhaps her reputation and relationship with her father healed over time, but she knew nothing already broken can completely heal. She may be far less of a nuisance than she was during her teenage years, but she's still a drunken enthusiast for all things dirt and botanical. Lorelei would rove the unexplored territories once her work was finished. As if she were a living map, there'd eventually be no place in Bruwyth she doesn't know about.
  
  The longer she worked outside of the castle, expectations of her grew while the desire to become Queen became less favorable. After the many talks between her and her brother, anxiousness weighed heavy in her conscience. Would Father step down if Mother doesn't get better? She couldn't bare the thought of leading a kingdom nor could she live with herself if she forced her brother to take the throne. Lorelei often wondered if she should do it- become Queen- despite the possibility of failure following closely behind like a wolf on the prowl.
  
  When word of the Festival of Fantasy was announced, Lorelei beamed with excitement. During her travels, she picked up on another hobby to pass the time. (She'd often be put on time out because of some prickly cow-lover.) It began when she caught some ladies-in-waiting secretly passing around books of romance. Their hushed tones discussing the acts of forbidden relationships while others did not. Lorelei developed a poor, unrealistic idea of what love was. The Festival of Fantasy curated high expectations of "love at first sight" and "kissing under the moonlight", which might've brought displeasure to a certain younger brother. As a result, Callahan is a very firm, and often unbudging proponent of discussions, ensuring that his opinions are always heard and properly considered. It can be off-putting to some, especially when that side of him shows in arguments with peers or when he disagrees with others in a more casual situation.

  Callahan was, like with most royal children, raised in the family castle and waited on by butlers and servants galore. He went to private school, equestrian school, and training to become a strong soldier, a learned leader, and fitting ruler to take over his kingdom. Despite being the younger of the twins, his father prided him as his male heir and often showed him off like a trophy to his advisors and trusty allies. This was not done out of selfishness, however. Callahan had nothing but a positive childhood with ever supportive parents. He would spend his free time in the neighbouring farms, befriending commoner children whenever his father brought him to visit the towns. It was in his youth where he developed his adoration and loyalty to the lower classes, seeing them as no different of human beings than those who strut around as nobles.
  
  At 13, he was gifted his gem through a small ring. At first, it was fashioned into a necklace, but now it always resides on his right ring finger. Unlike his sister, his powers did not manifest until a few years later. It left him feeling powerless when his sister was able to have wonderful little chats with plants, whereas he could only talk at his pet chicken or ferret. The first use of his power was rather anti-climatic, but the discovery did not prove any less celebratory for his parents. All he did was thought about making a chicken out of rock, and there it was. Not yet mobile, nor very detailed, but a little figurine that rolled out from a moving mound of dirt.

  
  

  
  

  TEEN YEARS
  

  When he was older, the preference of his father to bring him to meetings over his sister became alarmingly clear. For every cameo that Lorelei did, it was sure that Callahan was forced to attend four more. For this reason, his relationship with his father became quite strained. He knew that since Lorelei was older, it was more likely that she would become queen anyhow. It was a justified rebellious streak within Callahan to reason that the boring meetings should be allocated to her training rather than his. In his early teens, he often tried to sneak out from the castle before or disappear from meetings, forcing his father to go to them alone or with Lorelei. However, the persistence never failed, and soon it became more of a matter that Callahan did not see the preferential treatment as fair.
  
  But, he accepted it. If he were not to attend, it was likely Lorelei would have to. And after several long, late night talks about their rise to power, it was clear that neither of them felt suited for the crown. Callahan felt was a lesser evil to take the responsibility of kingdom affairs then have his more quiet, reserved sister be put thorough the yelling match and politics of the table. After all, he had more experience with it.
  
  Into his late teens, Callahan had grown much stronger with his ability to control what he manipulates. His studies were often put on the backburner as he honed in on how to control every speck (or at least most specks) of different materials. He dove into learning more about what he can and couldn’t do with his powers, which often drained him due to their difficulty. He’s still adapting his powers, figuring out what he can and cannot do at different stages in his life. Although contrasting to his personality, he has always wondered whether he could control the iron found in the blood of others. This wouldn’t abide by his ethical code of conduct… but Callahan would be lying if he didn’t spend a good amount of time in the library researching whether it was possible.

  The Festival of Fantasy. How… apt. The only pairings that could be made from here would be fantastical. And ingenuine. How can just a week turn two near strangers into inseparable lovers? Callahan has always been a skeptic of love, preferring friendships, lordship over his kingdom, and familial relationships over infatuations and “first loves”. This is not to say he doesn’t have his fair share of flings. A good looking man like him can’t possibly stay away from the lures of pretty girls in his kingdom. Ladies in waiting are never far, either. However, he has never believed the Festival of Fantasy to be able to secure a marriage that lasts, or at least is happy.
  
  As an adult, Callahan is more level-headed and rule-following than he was before. There are times he will still fool around like a young prince, but the face of his kingdom depends on how well he and his sister can behave outside of their castle. Callahan is the fair and likeable prince, instead of the wild, mud-loving fiend who would rather go skinny dipping than see the inside of another meeting room. Its due to this dual-sided personality that he has strong reservations about taking the throne. Of course, the authority would be nice, but he doesn’t live to be in power. He’d like the easy life, one where he can run amok and carefree instead of tied up in rules, customs, duties, and expectations. He loves his sister dearly, though.     Family of wandering merchants, home had never been the tendering of floorboards or embrace of a house, but the drag of hooves over seas of burnt sienna sand. Sultry drought with scorched lips, wind that takes silica like mountain dust.
    
    But life held at the mercy of exhumed hearts, chests entered with night-blades in flowering petals of red, he dares not bring his mind to the carnage of it, his fledgling crossfire.
    
    It’s hard to forget the taste of palm over your mouth, the salt of sweat embedded in creases that burn acrid into a palate. A sibling’s hush, quiet, keeping cries staunch in the throat before they could steal opportunity to surge upwards and reveal their alcove. Night had never been patient in bleeding from the morning. Break of dawn shedding bat-skin twilight for barrels of gunpowder, tragedy and new beginnings, childhood ground into fine grains of disaster.
    
    Orphaned, wine-dark clouds of hair splayed over sand is as far as Rajah lets his memory travel to that night.

    He has danced with harlots and dined with thieves, slept beside beggars and ate with murderers. A travelling merchant turned scam-artist; Rajah Ibadah found home in the acrid silt of humankind.
    
    He’d aged to be a mar on the burnished gleam of the upper-class. No more than bones under muck and half-eaten rind, seller’s charm a sediment. Tongue whittling conniving webs, tales spun from smoke and mirrors, glass lies his only identity. Cheating customers out of coin, naïve as they stumbled into his gravitational orbit under the impression of fate’s lure; Rajah slowly accumulated wealth through his schemes.
    
    Hunting grounds expanded from land to water, travelling with the word hoax curled tight under his tongue.
    
    When a stranger appeared in Tairis, cuff-links sourced from off-shore metals, knowledge expansive and stories exciting, word was quick to disperse. An enigma, more promise and jewel than human. Words drenched in dizzying inspiration and politesse syrup and soon to be appointed subordinate for his success in trade, Tairis was an opportunity for Rajah. The lingering eyes and whispers of prestige setting him on a trajectory for excel.
    
    Prying questions and silence apart, masterful in raking through syllables and hints. A thin slit of white in his smile, albeit golden as he might be, Rajah had his vices.
    
    Silhouettes of Tairis' finest waists pressed to the curve of his palm, a new one every month, no less. Always keeping a fracture of distance between company and feelings, susceptible to growing bored with his partners. Love, or its concept, had always been a fickle, shallow thing to Rajah.

An imperious tilt of his chin to settle steely air, a tempest calm and eyes of hardened obsidian glint that summon reminders of his labels.
    
    Bathed in blood pools of rumour, murderer, rage-crazed commander, Santino Diavolo, reality of his boyish whimsy is receded and lost to the haunting names. Perhaps cowardice, perhaps something unintentionally cunning, he truly never planned to paint himself in such light.
    
    Some come to learn his disposition is not built of grave-dirt and congealed wounds, but a gentle foundation of soft-spoken decorum. Surprisingly mild, less scary than he appears and perpetually nervous; social scenes send his orbit spinning off-kilter, stumbling over words and filling awkward silences with strange rambling tangents. It’s expressed as plainly as the lines on a map, his difficulty manoeuvring conversation without tripping or missing an important social cue. Eloquence never was as easy as the arc of a sword.
    
    There’s no manipulation or smoke-screen to Cesare’s words, the virtue of painful honesty delivered clear yet polite. A wry humour that makes its presence to those he is fond of, and a habit of taking well to common people. Upholding a knight’s code of conduct, he very much encapsulates faithfulness, sacrifice, honour, unable to hold his tongue behind gritted teeth in the face of injustice.
    
    Scepticism bred from family paranoia, there lies a marrow-deep chip on his shoulder that views Bruwyth outsiders as an enemy. It offends a great number of people, strangers and faraway visitors that are met with Cesare’s flagrant disregard for their high statuses, impressive wealth, or unchecked egos. The passive-aggressive step to shield royal and stranger, words succinct and honeycombed with warning; undying loyalty to the kingdom awakes his unfounded hostility. Rich in vivacity, each stare, each word, is akin to a gauntlet throw. A challenge to breach boundaries he has lined in the sand.

    Second-best his namesake, black-sheep his status; Cesare had been a meteor trail of blood from the beginning. Pulled from dead womb and labelled killer, guilt branded to his skin like gold leaf and dappled sunlight. Forgiveness from family was nil, heavied with ire that he could dare live, that he could bear to endure the mortal cost of his parturition.
    
    It was a scratch that burrowed in Cesare’s throat, an unsatisfied itch that infused breath with feelings of repentance. A brother preceded him, Eliodoro Santino, a visage of every ideal their father could have wanted in an heir. Stronger, smarter, angrier, always the favoured companion to the meeker, gentler, smaller counterpart.
    
    As farmer’s boys they were pebbled with callouses that knew the tax of menial work. Elio found stature beside his father, whilst Cesare found solace in brushes of wet grass, tossing dried grains to livestock and chasing off coyotes. He was still young when he learned enemies were not beady eyed and snouting for eggs. They were not tied to thick brush with furred skins and dragged tails, not a nest of field-mice that festered crops for months nor the grip of cold dissolving on skin, weighted by wet rain. Not a roof of carrion crows, frost-burned fruit, a hive or stagnating barrel of river water.
    
    The enemy was a hand reaching across to stretch rations, eating meat and vegetables at a table, suck of mud under soft leather boots, a house where candles chased shadows over sharp corners. The enemy wore clothing, wore deceit, dared not to be held accountable for the crimes of their prized eldest son.
    
    Blame the body of the dead on the youngest; the killer, now public criminal.
    
    

    
    

    
    

    ADOLESCENCE
    

    Tender age was forgiving in the face— noose, of the law. Barely thirteen and thrown into squireship to ignore the problem that is a child murderer, justice hoped a casualty of war would be an easier resolution than the gallows.
    
    But a scion of family betrayal, Cesare all but resigned himself to whispers that followed him. In soils of resentment it took root, anger calcifying bones and coating tongue in kerosene. A gunpowder temperament stirring from the regolith of his chest, engulfing him like spitfire in a contradiction of his gentle nature. Reputation succeeded him, fulfilling the given labels, strewing teeth over tavern floorboards from pomegranate-blotted fists, cleansing layers of guilty blood from steel gauntlet; Cesare rose through ranks, was knighted, and soon held Bruwyth’s underbelly beneath his shoe at a commander’s position.
    
    The kingdom was ruled by a pair of calm sovereignty, yet Cesare Santino ensured their cavalry was not. Names that once sloughed him in ice, murderer, criminal, now welcomed home like sleep. It fit glove-tight, the notoriety from fearful lies circulating about him acted as a protective shell; exterior brittle to hide the mellow soft in the middle.
    
    For years it gave him no reason to regret, enjoying the peace and garnered respect that comes with being seen as dangerous.

    Sent on behalf of Bruwyth’s King as a royal guard to ensure their safety, he considers it his utmost duty to protect the twins and ensure they do not fall into webs of deception.

    Eliodoro had always been ruled by an incurable temper. Fascinated with stomping bugs and hurling rocks at birds, all but encouraged by the proud words of his father; manly, they praised the twisted behaviour.
    
    Perhaps they shouldn’t have been surprised when Elio, aged 18 and advances rejected, shoved a village girl down the steep of a water well. Killed on impact, Cesare was their perfect scapegoat.
    
    Age has not yet tempered this hurt, nor does Cesare think it ever will.
    
    The name Santino rings known in Bruwyth, rampant comparison cut between the two brothers. Cesare with his curse of crime, Elio with clean-slate amicability as a well-known scholar. They are not in contact with each other.

    It comes in different forms; stricken with wilderness and a tearing of throats, loud like the devil learning what regret is or quiet; seafoam to air, slow collapse of bat wings folding inwards.
    
    Yet his defeat arrived with no scream, only a chance smile. Pale and sallow-eyed features blotted by a crown of warm flowers set gently to his head. There has never been a doubt in his mind that she belonged somewhere otherworldly, created radiant and effervescent and thousands of other things that he is not— never will be.

  As a princess you can only imagine what Esme’s childhood was like, and as the youngest you could multiply that by a hundred, even if she was a triplet. Esme was adventurous and a wild child, always getting into trouble and popping up in some random hiding place to scare the help. Was it very kind of her? Well, no, not exactly… However, she’d make up for it by occasionally helping out around the kitchen or popping into town and helping pick the star fruit during harvest season.
  
  It wasn’t until she approached one of Solstice’s beaches one morning that she really found herself contemplating who she was. There, lying on the sand, was what looked to be the body of a young boy around her age. She felt a pit form in her stomach, what was she to do? Looking around, the dark-haired girl found a long branch and gently poked him with it to roll him over, only to see his eyes open. She was relieved. Not that she knew or had any attachment to the boy, but she was glad he was alive and seemingly uninjured.
  
  Esme immediately called the royal guards to help him back to the palace infirmary where they nursed him back to health, the young princess visiting almost daily to check up on him. He soon became like a fourth royal, after all, he was an orphan and who better to take care of him than the King and Queen? Of course, he wasn’t raised completely like the Prince and Princesses, but, at least in Esme’s head, he had a good life and that was important to her.
  
  Saving and helping him nearly defined the girl’s childhood and for a while she even harbored a childish crush on him. He made her realize just how amazing one could feel after doing something good and kind for a change, rather than being mischievous.
  

  
  

  
  

  TEEN YEARS
  

  
  The years went by and Esme blossomed into a teenager, one who was hell bent on helping others and doing what was right. She assumed it was the only way to feel as good about herself as she did on that fateful day that she rescued Cyrus. After getting her hands on a romance novel though, things changed. All Esme wanted in life was to find her prince charming and live happily ever after, no matter how unrealistic those around her continuously warned. Her happiness became dependent on praise from male suitors, even ones she didn’t really care for.
  
  She became known as a bit of a flirt, her father repeatedly asking her to calm down and remember her place as a Princess. Esme heard the warnings, she heard her father’s words, but all she wanted was love. It wasn’t that her parents didn’t pay her attention, in fact they were rather doting for a Queen and King, but that love didn’t come close to what Esme had read about in her newfound collection of books.
  
  The day did come that her attention switched to something else though, the triplets’ thirteenth birthday when they were all given a piece of jewelry made from the celestial stone. Esme was given a ring with the black jewel embedded on the top as well as throughout the band. The golden flakes inside of it glimmered like stars, most assuming it to be stardust. It was a magical moment and for the first time Esme felt powerful. Her gift came when her eyes turned black and all of the light around them ceased, leaving them in the shadows. Esme had no control and slowly at her hands, black magic gathered; magic that she could use to harm those around her.
  
  It took her siblings calling out her name to bring her out of the coma-like state she’d fallen into, and she was weak when she fell. Her father made her promise not to use her magic as he felt it was dangerous. It wasn’t fair though, her siblings were gifted amazing things that could help the people of Solstice while Esme was cursed with a dark gift that she wanted to return.
  

  
  

  
  

  CURRENTLY
  

  
  Although Esme swore to her father to never use her gift, she has broken that vow more times than she can count. How else is she supposed to control it? In her bedroom, she’ll lock herself inside, shutting her eyes tight until the darkness takes over. The light from her room ceases and she can feel the power gathering in her palms, but after that she faints. The Princess is too scared to see what the power will do, which is why she continues to fall out whenever it takes her over completely.
  
  Other than her dark magic though, the youngest Princess continues to aim for male attention, seeking their approval, but most importantly their love. When it was announced that they’d be going to the Festival of Fantasy she was overjoyed, truly believing this was her chance to find her Prince Charming. Her naivety may get the best of her though as she always sees the best in people, even when it’s obvious there’s ulterior motives at play.
  
  Esme has remained close with Cyrus and considers him a confidant, always telling him about which boy she’s in love with that day and whatnot. In reality, Esme is very lonely and wishes to be loved in any sense of the word, whether that be platonically or romantically.   ✦ Altruistic | The bounteous concern Eridanus has for those around him, especially his sisters, shines forth in all his actions. The title of the benevolent prince has been bestowed upon him by his people for his concern for others, one such title he cherishes dearly. The compassionate attitude he exhibits puts to shame even the most philanthropic nobles in the Solstice kingdom, and he has a generous, public-spirited mentality that has not gone unnoticed by his people or family. He works hard and deliberately to be a voice for the welfare of the common folk of the Solstice Kingdom by bringing the issues of the common folk to the attention of his father. Obviously, not everyone will be pleased with Eridanus' sickeningly sweet charisma, which is one of his greatest fears. Although he tries to hide away this insecurity behind thick walls, he nevertheless struggles to do so.
  
  ✦ Modest | Modesty has a dual meaning to Eridanus: the avoidance of indecency and the continual reaffirmation of humility. As far as he is concerned, a prince is someone who fosters dignity, respect, and restraint from engaging in "immodest" activities. Virtue and vice, he exhibits this characteristic equally. In fact, his decorum is the reason he makes a seamless transition from casual to formal settings, and why he often cites this quality as a virtue. Meanwhile, Eridanus's tendency to be unpretentious in explaining his accomplishments is one of the qualities that make him likable. Although he has an unhealthy obsession with impressing others, his commitment to modesty usually outweighs that obsession.
  
  ✦ Calm | Eridanus remains calm in the face of even the most tumultuous situations. He often plays the mediator role between his siblings, and his attempts to pacify conflicts or ameliorate stressful situations are typical of this quality. A general dislike of conflict combined with his general dislike of conflict makes him an ideal young diplomat.
  
  ✦ Principled | With strict adherence to the rules, the young prince does not compromise on morals or virtue.   ✦ Perfectionist | A key reason for Eridanus' decline in mental health is his quest to be the epitome of royal perfection. His stance is especially uncompromising when it comes to the public or bystanders. Eridanus, who strives for perfection, will disown any aspect of himself that he does not think represents an ideal monarch. Any behavior deemed too casual for him will be immediately curtailed, not because of disgust, but rather out of panic. But why the panic? Well, even the idea of someone rethinking their positive perceptions of Eridanus causes him to experience a nervous breakdown. Further, the thought that his sisters or parents would witness his "weakness" could be enough to destroy his chances for kingship. Thus, he is trapped in this very delusional way of thinking. After all, a king must remain strong for the people he governs. If he cannot maintain his intrusive, inner voices, then what kind of a king can he be?
  
  ✦ Insecure | Failure is an inevitable part of life and this is a fact that Eridanus often forgets. To him, he was right in his reach if he suspended belief and worked steadfastly to meet the father's expectations, becoming a revered and idealized leader beloved by his people, and ruling alongside his beautiful wife. But, this dream is built on a fragile foundation that teeters between a rock and a hard place depending on where Eridanus stands. Although he believes this foundation is unbreakable and built on an impenetrable ground, he fails to notice how the floors are rife with holes of all sizes.
  
  He lacks both dignity and self-respect, for one thing. However, Eridanus can be quite convincing when concealing his naivete and lack of confidence. Having to juggle both these things, in addition to trying to be a good brother to his sisters, he's practically on a tightrope.
  
  ✦ Self - limiting | Also, as previously mentioned, his moderate behavior is one of his flaws. As he conforms to the mold of a future king, he limits himself in ways that keep him from developing. He will often reject fun, unruly activities out of fear that they will accentuate his "worst" characteristics. Oftentimes, what he considers the "worst" part of him is the Eridanus that has lost his desire to be king. Maybe this version of him wants a lifestyle of comfort without too much responsibility. A version of him who dreams of traveling, experiencing the wonders of the world, and going wherever the stars may guide him. He, unfortunately, detests this part of himself. Under his false desires and expectations of what others expect of him, he has consistently hidden this "unruly" self. Is there anything more that he could fear than his peers denouncing his title as prince for showing a smidgen of recklessness typical of his youth? Obviously, he has been overthinking this, but perhaps this is just a harmless defense mechanism for him to combat his insecurities. At least, he hoped it was only that. By doing this, he was limiting any expression of the self. Rather than learning about his limits, he pushes them constantly. As opposed to learning his true dislikes or likes, he replaces them with what he believes should be things a prince prefers or refuses. Above all, he prepares for every moment of his future instead of letting his personal growth direct his life. This is how he sets himself up for failure, like a silent, dangerous bomb.
  
  He may be able to hear its ticking, but he chooses to ignore its deafening sound in hopes that one day he won't hear anything but silence.
  
  ✦ People-pleaser | Despite his best efforts, Eridanus can never be liked by everyone, which is an insurmountable goal. However, he still tries to make ends meet with them despite this. In fact, Eridanus is willing to go to extreme lengths in order to please a person. If these favors contradict his principles, he may choose to reject those favors and live with the fact that the person may not like him as long as his principles are kept. He becomes more concerned with gaining the approval of this person if getting their approval is of high importance to him, such as his parents and siblings. He is willing to sacrifice his dignity for this person and toss his morals out the nearest window in this case. In this respect, he is quite impressionable.
  
  ✦ Nagging | Eridanus acquired the habit of nagging from his mother over time, and he targets his sisters in particular with this vice. He will nag them similar to how a mother would if he even catches them doing something that might taint their image. Essentially, he may try to impose his own ideals upon his sisters. He does not intend to negatively impact them by doing this, and his intentions are pure, but he is unable to resist overacting in a manner that is inappropriate in formal settings. His flaw becomes increasingly apparent as the Festival of Fantasy approaches. There will be a lot of attention on the triplets since it is the first time they are being shown to the world, so one mistake can tarnish the kingdom's reputation.   CHILDHOOD
  

  Eridanus was a very obedient child, mostly because he didn't want to upset his parents and he preferred to play with his sisters for entertainment rather than to play pranks on the castle's residents. As someone who prioritized his parents' approval, his main aim was not to speak out of turn, apart from those times when he'd run away to be outside and gaze at the stars than being surrounded by people.
  
  Eridanus, however, was still no different, as youth often brings mischievous behavior; his mischievous acts differed greatly from those of other children. Eridanus' favorite pastime was to sneak out of the castle with his sisters to gaze at the stars, even when he had events to attend. Young Eridanus' adventurous side simply wanted to explore more of the world than the castle walls offered, as the castle's walls seemed restrictive to him. Because of his strong desire to explore, see, and meet the people of the kingdom, he frequently wandered as far as he could without being caught. It was no secret that he wondered what was outside the castle, and he would often ask some of the workers if they had seen the world outside. His curiosity only grew as he searched for a way to find out more. As a remedy, his mother sometimes allowed him to explore with one or two knights, but more often he would find a way to escape them so he could venture alone. Despite these steadfast efforts to keep him from wandering far beyond the borders of the kingdom, he still remained determined to learn more and soon decided to ask his parents directly.
  
  Throughout his childhood, Eridanus never fully understood why his requests and inquiries were refused, and this often led to arguments between him and his parents. As a way to cope with his overwhelming feelings of frustration, he often snuck out of the castle's library at midnight and read books while watching the stars. Since then, he developed an odd fascination with the stars and saw them as his friends, whom he could talk to, even if this was a bit strange to explain to others.
  

  
  

  
  

  TEEN YEARS
  

  As Eridanus and his sisters celebrated their 13th birthday, this was a turning point in how he perceived himself, how he would behave in the years to come, and the beginning of when he began to obsess over perfection. As part of their birthday celebration, the children received their pieces of the Kingdom jewel. When he examined the shining black surface of his jewel, he saw tiny speckles of gold in its reflection like stars against the night sky; he was awestruck. He did not notice much difference when he put on the bracelet, but to this day his family members still swear they saw little flecks of stardust around him whenever he wore it for the first time. There is a possibility that he was too enthralled by the beauty of the jewel's surface to notice what was happening around him.
  
  In the end, he figured out what his powers were as soon as he returned to one of his favorite balconies for stargazing. Reaching up with his hands, he reached toward the stars in a sudden desire to touch them, and when he did, they seemed to bend to his will. Each constellation danced in response to each flick of the wrist, as though they were performing for his pleasure. His greatest discovery was when he realized that the night sky was the canvas that he was to paint on and it was then that he realized that the constellations were the most magnificent paintings he had ever seen. Finally, he realized what his power was: constellation manipulation.
  
  In the days following that day, his father realized that his powers weren't exactly an asset he could use to protect the Kingdom, or even for its benefit. At least as far as he knew, the powers weren't something he could rely on to safeguard the Kingdom. In lieu of leaving Eridanus to the whims of his own desires, his father enrolled him right away in combat training with the kingdom's knights. Unless he could defend himself, his sisters, and his kingdom, what kind of prince would he be? Even though Eridanus found rigorous combat routines to be a hindrance, he became more accustomed to them over time. He was well prepared for the position of King, even though his parents were still uncertain of which of his siblings would be the rightful heir to the throne. After every compliment, praise, and approval his parents gave him, especially his father, he began to mimic this alter ego he created in order to continue receiving this addictive amount of attention. He became fascinated by the duties his father performed with the council; whether he was making the decisions or not, he would always be involved in those responsibilities, and he would also go on philanthropic trips to neighboring villages to meet the people and meet their problems and worries. In doing so, he became a figure of guidance for the village's younger generation, and a beacon for the people of Solstice.
  
  Eridanus claims he made the decision to be king on his own, his father changed how he was growing up and kept him in a situation where he had to act princely and stay diligent, so he wanted to be king because everyone else expected it of him. He likes to say that he wanted to become king on his own, but the truth is, he had to do so because it was something everyone else expected of him. He subjected himself to this form of brainwashing for the next few years, a mental tug-of-war that he still battles today.
  

  
  

  
  

  CURRENTLY
  

  In the present, Eridanus has to juggle many things, especially as he becomes older and more fit for the throne. Among them were the increasing expectations he placed on himself, as well as those of his family and the people of the kingdom. As soon as his parents informed him and his sisters that they would be attending the festival fantasy, Eridanus was filled with a sort of panic. It was at this moment that his entire life would be determined, and no matter what love he and his sisters may find, it would dictate whether he or one of them would become the next ruler. As a matter of fact, this thought frightened him. He felt a bit jealous of his sisters; that they had the same chance at the throne as he did and that glint of greed that he felt terrified him beyond measure.
  
  Up until the opening ceremony of the festival, he was also plagued by other anxieties, such as whether he would be attracted to anyone at all. Or if he was, his own excessive demands for perfection from his future queen could cause conflict in their relationship. And what of this own sisters? As his young sisters grew up, he was also filled with panic. It would no longer only be them, the three musketeers since childhood, and he knew that they would find someone else to go to for comfort and support. Due to the fact that the solstice triplets are on display for the rest of the world to view, even though he has his own image at stake, he is more worried about what would happen if random rumors started circulating or if someone that the sisters love turns out to be using them.
  
  As a result of all these worries, instead of anticipating the festival with excitement, he grew increasingly apprehensive.

Quite the contrary, she was much kinder to his need for adventure and discovery, often negotiating on behalf of Eridanus with King Armand. Additionally, she was the first to recognize Eridanus' nervous ticks and unhealthy defense mechanisms, as if she knew him like the back of her hand. Even now, Eridanus still seeks advice from the Queen first.

  One of the biggest challenges for Maia is that she is often so focused on immediate pleasures that she neglects her duties and responsibilities that make those luxuries possible. Complex analysis, repetitive tasks, and matching statistics to real consequences are not easy activities for her. She’d rather rely on luck or opportunity, or simply ask for help from others. It’s important for her to challenge herself to keep track of long-term things, as there won’t always be someone else around to help to keep an eye on these things for her.
  
  Maia recognizes value and quality, which on it’s own is a fine trait. In combination with her tendency to be poor planners though, this can cause her to live beyond her means. More focused on leaping at opportunities than in planning out long-term goals, she may find that her inattentiveness has made some activities unaffordable.

  Maia is incredibly bold and is known for not holding back. Wanting to experience everything there is to experience, she doesn’t mind stepping out of her comfort zone when no else is willing. Traditions and expectations are secondary to her as she loves to be original and experiment with new styles; she is constantly finding new ways to stick out in the crowd. Maia has great aesthetics and showmanship, injecting artistic creativity into her words and actions. Afterall, she loves to put on a great show for everyone as a natural performer.
  
  She believes that the world is meant to be felt and experienced. She prefers to see and do than wax philosophical about “what-ifs” which makes her practical. As she focuses on the here and now, on doing and acting, and is known to be quite observant. She has a real natural kick out of noticing real, tangible things and changes.   Maia is very vulnerable and sensitive to criticism. She often feels like she’s been backed into a corner and will sometimes not react in the best way (watch out; she’s got chompers and she’s not afraid to bite). It’s probably one of her greatest weaknesses, because it makes it so hard to address any other weaknesses brought to light. She also often avoids and ignores conflict entirely. She tends to say and do what’s needed to get out of such situations before moving onto something more fun and enjoyable. Speaking of fun – it’s exactly what she needs as she becomes easily bored. Without constant excitement, Maia finds ways to create it herself. Risky behaviour, self-indulgence, and the pleasures of the moment over long-term plans are all things she gets into a little too often.
  
  Rarely making detailed plans, Maia is a poor long-term planner. To her, things come as they come, and she rarely bothers with taking the time to lay out steps and consequences. She fully believes that anything can change at any given moment – even with things that can be pre-planned ahead of time. On top of that, she can be… well… very unfocused. Anything that requires long-term dedication and focus is a particular challenge for her. In academics, dense, unchanging subjects like Classic Literature are much more difficult than more dynamic, relatable subjects.   CHILDHOOD
  

  When Princess Maia entered the world, she had a set of lungs that announced it to the whole kingdom. A powerful roar erupted from her lips the moment she left the warmth of her mother, being torn away from the only safety she had known. From that exact moment where Maia learnt how to use her voice, she never stopped. She was the first of her siblings to start speaking, and she just never stopped speaking. Her mouth was a leaky tap that never stopped flowing regardless of how tight you pulled. She would talk the ears off her parents, her siblings, servants in the castle, the gardeners of the courtyard, and the people of her kingdom. She was a winded-up clapping monkey that showed no signs of ever stopping.
  
  Now, it was hard to believe that her constant chatter wasn’t her worst trait as a child. Oh no. For you see, Princess Maia was a biter. Meaning if she ever got upset, scared, angry or riddled with emotions that she struggled to process, she would just simply bite something or someone. And even sometimes, herself. She used her bright chompers when her words didn’t work causing many who worked in the castle to dread spending time with the young child. Her mother attempted to assist in guiding her to bite on a stick if she ever felt the urge to take out her frustrations on a piece of leather attached to a necklace. Quite often she was seen around the kingdom with the leather piece lodged between her canines, gnawing away at it to push down those aggressive feelings that tempted to rise.
  
  The people of Solstice had encountered a whirlwind of emotions throughout Maia’s childhood. First, they feared being around her for her constant talking. Then, they feared to be near as she used her teeth as a defence mechanism. And then, finally, she would walk around with this piece of leather in her mouth; which didn’t stop her from continuing to go on with her nonsense chatter. She would simply continue to speak while this piece of leather was occupied in her gob. And well, the children of the kingdom didn’t understand. They finally came to one conclusion; Princess Maia of Solstice was weird.
  
  

  
  

  
  

  TEEN YEARS
  

  She knew what people said about her behind her back.
  
  They often would compare her to those trapped in the prisons and hospitals who talked to themselves, or believed that there were voices inside of their head. Sure, she was weird. But she wasn’t dumb. She knew that people would take one look at her and head in the opposite direction in fear that she would want to strike up some sort of conversation between the pair of them. She knew that people would warn each other not to go near her in fear of being bitten (despite growing out of that habit many moons ago). And she knew that people just generally didn’t think she was fit enough to rule this kingdom one day as she was far too comedic and full of eccentric expressions.
  
  All of that changed, however, when she received her ring.
  
  The triplets received such beautiful treasures on their thirteenth birthday. In all honesty, Maia was incredibly confused by the power that was held in this tiny gem. The blue opal with a cluster of constellations speckled throughout shone with great pride upon her tiny, dainty finger, but showed no real value to its powers. She didn’t physically change, nor did she feel anything had shifted in her being. Well, maybe that was just her luck. Maybe she ended up with the least special gem out of all the siblings.
  
  And she continued to think this; until she started to notice a pattern. All the castle workers who cared for her, one by one, began to fall pregnant. Women whose age defined the laws of pregnancy were becoming more fertile than the soils found in the valleys and plains. One right after the other, they were dropping like flies as they declared they would have to leave their positions to care for their own children. Maia’s mother noticed the trend also and began to seek male nurses to care for her children. They too began to claim that they began to conceive their spouses, partners, and mistresses despite any protectionary measures they had taken.
  
  All a sudden, Maia became incredibly popular amongst the women in the kingdom.
  
  People wanted to spend time with her. They would invite her over for dinner, offer to make her extravagant dresses, and ask if she wanted to spend time together. The kingdom’s birth rate skyrocketed, and the next generation was coming to fruition. Maia’s jewel had finally shown its true powers; the gift of fertility.
  
  
  

  
  

  
  

  CURRENTLY
  

  Despite being overwhelmingly popular amongst the young and fertility challenged couples within the kingdom, there was still this dense feeling in the pits of Maia’s stomach. It curdled and echoed, repeating over and over to her the same old damn thing like a broken record; that they didn’t actually like her as a person. That they were just pretending to be friendly so they could get pregnant. That everyone within the kingdom still thought she was this weird, odd ball. And sadly, the reality of it all was that it was true. Those who were desperate to spend time with her were the ones who were grinding their teeth and praying for every waking second with her to be over. The girl didn’t know how to stop, and showed off her amazing talent of being able to change the topic of the conversation eight times within ten sentences and two minutes without stopping for a breath.
  
  While she knew how the people in the kingdom felt about her, she didn’t mind. Because she knew that there was always one person that she could count on to love her until the end of time; her father. King Armand was her biggest fan, and was always encouraging his daughter through her antics. Queen Laila would often shake her head in frustration, muttered about the two under her breath as the daughter and father shared cringe worthy jokes at the dinner table. King Armand would be in tears after spending a few mere moments with his daughter, claiming that she was the funniest person to ever walk the planet. Her alternative, weird ways were what made her quirky to him, and filled his days with joy.
  
  One night, as Maia approached her parents bedroom to say goodnight and to tell her father a rather humorous conversation she had over heard in the kitchen, she could hear her parents talking. They were discussing about the future of the Kingdom; who would rule next. The seriousness of their voices drenched each word that fell from their lips as they were evaluating each child. They weighed the pros and the cons of their child in leadership, and what they would need to do to make sure they were ready to be throned and to rule a nation. Finally, they reached Maia.
  
  “Well, there’s not that much to say, is there?” King Armand grunted as he removed his shoes from his swollen, tired feet.
  
  “What do you mean?” Queen Laila questioned, crossing her arms before her husband.
  
  “I mean… Maia is beautiful. But that’s all she has. Beauty cannot run this kingdom alone.” he explained, pulling off his socks. “I dearly love her. But has yet to show any qualities of a Queen who can lead. She would be more suited to somewhere where her humour and enthusiasm is much more appreciated”
  
  And it was at that moment that Maia realised something. Her father didn’t see her as a future Queen, leading a nation and bringing greatness to the kingdom like she had dreamed of doing. Oh no.

He is suspicious of political shenanigans, so he has tried in the past to stay uninvolved with the royalty. He has a high level of honor, and in that honor is the vow to help everyone in need of it. But get him angry and you have a wild animal pitted against you. He has learned to ignore pain and injury, and fight till the death. He has nothing to do with people are weak and don't try to change it. When he gets drunk, he gets quite and philosophical. He doesn't get excited easily, having been trained to control his emotions. You will never see him cry, he uses the bottled in pain as fuel for his cold rage, in which he is the deadliest.

  Henry prides himself on his integrity. He means what he says, and when he’s committed to doing something, he makes sure to follow through with it.   Fire tore through the small village upon the outskirts of Cidal.
  
  Covered by the tall Ponderosa pine trees, the village had remained a hidden gem for many generations. With the protection of the overhanging branches, this unknown place was filled with tranquillity and peace. They practised the rituals of their ancestors and created medicines from the fine resources the forest had to give to them. They believed that what you give to the Earth, the Earth will provide back. For many decades, they lived undetected and in harmony.
  
  All that changed one morning.
  
  Fire blazed through the forest; it crackled and sizzled along its path to destruction. Families fled in fear; they left their homes and their livestock, carrying their children in their arms as they sprinted to higher grounds. But it had been a trap; there awaited a sea of dark knights with their swords yielded and prepared to bring an end to the civilisation. An entire civilisation was whipped out within minutes as the knights brought down every last soul that met their eyesight.
  
  All but one family.
  
  A mother, her son and her husband fled in the opposite direction, hearing the cries of their people as they were saturated in a sea of blood. She held onto her child as tight as possible, her legs never stopping as they dashed through the trees. Large men began to shout over their heads; “Over here. There’s two of them”. The sky, filled with smoke and flames, became the home of a wave of arrows flying directly toward them. Her husband went down with an arrow to his chest. She continued to run for her and her son’s safety. Eventually, the arrow won and lodged itself in her stomach.
  
  Finally coming to a stop, she fell to her knees in dismay and grief. She clung to her child with all her strength, whispering to him how he loved and adored him. How he would do great things in the years to come. In the smog before her, a knight approached. Tears flooded down her face as she knew that her future had been set. And so, she began to plead with the knight. That he would spare the life of her child; let him die from old age rather than the hands of man. She begged through her wails that they would take her life to spare his. Without a word, the hooded knight stood before the woman and lifted the child from her arms and into his own. She wailed, pleading that the knight would accept her request. As he stood back, looking at the sobbing mother, he went to speak; a confirmation that he would care for this child as his own.
  
  But as he opened his mouth, another flying arrow came hounding from the sky and lodged itself within the female’s skull.
  
  
  

  
  

  
  

  TEEN YEARS
  

  His father began training him the moment he could walk.
  
  Being the son of one of the most respected knights in Cidal wasn’t an easy task; adopted or not. There was a high expectation that he was to live up to, and the whole town had their eyes on him and his progress. His father, Sir George Williams, would train him night and day. They’d venture into the woods late at night or early morning to practice using their arrows. During the day, Henry would train with the other uprising soldiers. Every waking moment was spent with the intention of making him into who Sir George was; he was his father’s legacy.
  
  At the age of fourteen, Henry had engaged in his first combat. Honestly, he had been far too young to participate in such a battle; but the fire in his chest wouldn’t rest. He had to be amongst the battle. It was during this battle that he had been taken captive. The other side did not believe that such a young soldier would be the son of one of the most well-known knights within these kingdoms. But once they realised that they had indeed captured the son, they used him as ransom. They wanted Sir George, and were willing to do anything to get his attention. And so, they pinned Henry down and took a chunk of his tongue in which they had a page boy run into the kingdom of Cidal and deliver it to George himself.
  
  The war between the two opposing groups continued to rage on with Sir George not resting until his son was saved. After a twenty-five-day epic battle between the two, Henry had been saved by the knights of Cidal. But, once again, it was at the cost of his parent’s life. Sir George had fallen to his death after attempting to overthrow the leader of the opposing group off the side of a cliff.
  
  From that moment on, he vowed that he would bring justice and peace to their kingdom. That he would protect the people who had protected him. That he would make his father proud, and let his legacy live on.
  
  
  

  
  

  
  

  CURRENTLY
  

  With his determination and passion to continue his father’s legacy, Henry has made a name for himself within the kingdom.
  
  Upon returning from the war, the whole village had heard the story of how the opposition had mailed a chunk of his tongue to his father, hoping to add fuel to the fire. It took time for his tongue to heal, using the various methods of natural treatments his people had scripted down in their history books. Whilst it was healing, he dare not attempt to speak, which was what landed him is his title name; Henry the Silent. The village had already been weary of him, being a refugee from warfare. But with the addition of silence with his stone-cold features, he was feared by other armies and uplifted by his village as a true war hero despite his young age.
  
  By the age of seventeen, he was knighted by the King and Queen and accepted into the Royal army as a commander. He was the youngest commander they had had in over forty years. And despite the healing of his tongue, Henry continued to practice his silence throughout all these years. He had already been a man of little words prior to the war, and now he had a title to uphold. He had this aura he had to carry along with him, I suppose.

  Loyalty – Like the wolves she so greatly admires, she holds a strong sense of loyalty to those select few who have earned her trust. While she admittedly does not trust easily, once that trust is gained, she’d do anything for those who have. She’d fiercely defend and protect her friends, and most of her family. This same loyalty extends to the people of Cidal. She loves her people, and if danger came to them, would do all within her power to prevent or mitigate the effects and hardships.
  
  Easygoing – While for a great deal of her life she did not take her duties as seriously as she should have, then and now, Rhiannon goes through life with an easygoing nature. To her, there was no point in stressing over the little things as it would only make deciding things more complicated. It was better to look at things from a step back from the situation, to focus on the overarching situations as opposed to the minor details.
  
  Perceptive – She’s often able to perceive how others are feeling in a certain situation, what might bother them, or cheer them up. Similarly, she is able to read situations in general and how it may be best to respond. While she was never quite as studious as her siblings, especially outwardly, if something was of interest, she dove into it head first. Learning to read situations was something she took to make sure she excelled at. Often, she uses this to aid those select individuals she cares about.

  Combative – She doesn’t have quite the same notoriety as her mother for her temper, never outright mean to anyone. But that same fire dwells within her, that same capability. Yet, unlike her mother who let her anger out at almost everyone she met, Rhiannon tends to hold her anger inside, letting them simmer until they are released at targeted individuals. These individuals were usually her parents, the Queen in particular. While these outbursts were never physical, she utilized words to bite back.
  
  Reckless – Tied to her anger, to release it, she often acts impulsively, not really thinking before she acts. This led to her teen years being filled with parties with the other Cidal nobles, and shirking her royal duties. She knew there would be consequences of some sort, but simply didn’t care. Rhiannon wouldn’t even consider them.
  
  Self-Doubt – While outwardly confident, the years spent growing up knowing that she was viewed as a disappointment weighed on her esteem. While it’s not an all-encompassing sense of doubt, Rhiannon is often in a struggle of caring if people think what she does is a disappointment, versus not caring. Though, it was a spiral effect. In efforts to not care, she would partake in actions that many would frown upon, giving into those perceived expectations. This would then lead to worrying if she wasn’t a disappointment until she acted out. Then the cycle repeated.

  CHILDHOOD
  

  She was a wild child growing up, full of never-ending energy. She brought a lively atmosphere to the Palace, usually through mischief. Of course, always in the name of fun. While her trouble-making usually brought a fair amount of joy to those around her, that same energy also landed her into an equal amount of trouble with those charged for her and her brothers’ upbringing, as well as with her parents. Due to his nature, and perhaps having the last claim for the throne, her father often looked the other way. It was always a brief lecture before he often encouraged her to continue as she was, so long as she kept up with the standard lessons required of all his children. What was the harm otherwise, the King had always thought? He didn’t want his children, especially his daughter, suffocated under the responsibilities of royalty, at least while they were children.
  
  The same could not be said for her mother, Queen Ivanna, “The Huntress”. Fixated on the strength of Cidal, Ivanna saw Rhia’s wild energy as a weakness that could and would be exploited if not tamed. Of the three children, Rhiannon earned the most attention from her mother, though only so she could attempt to reign her daughter’s wild nature. The Queen would often order extra lessons for her daughter, followed by extensive lectures on what was expected of her as a Princess. When Rhiannon refused to bend, the Queen took to calling her daughter a disappointment, and took every opportunity to remind her of that.
  
  

  
  

  
  

  TEEN YEARS
  

  It had never bothered Rhia, as a child, what her mother thought of her: a disappointment. Not until she grew a bit older, and could fully understand the weight of those words. When she turned 13 and received her stone in the form of a hair piece/comb, she was gifted with the power of ice manipulation. Similar to her brothers, Ivanna insisted on training her skills. Rhiannon was a natural in many ways, taking to her power like a fish took to water. Initially, it almost seemed like the Huntress was proud of her daughter. But the constant reminder that she was a failure to her family and kingdom finally struck a chord with the Princess. The Queen wasn’t proud out of some motherly love, it was because she saw her skills as an asset to Cidal. It was then Rhiannon decided to slack off during her lessons – at least those ran by the Queen. She would often practice on her own to make up for it, but any lessons with her mother she preferred to clash with her instead of honing her skills.
  
  Her mischief as a child let to years of resentment, anger, and bordering rebellion. She took to partying with the other nobility of Cidal. On rare occasions, she would sneak into the town to have fun with the everyday citizens. She embraced the title of “Disappointment” dubbed to her by the Queen, and did what she could to get under her parents’ skins. Why pretend to be anything different if that’s what they already thought of her?
  
  Rhiannon slacked on a great deal of her responsibilities during this time, taking advantage of the fact that by order of her birth, the crown would likely not fall to her. Rhia didn’t care what others thought of her, or at least didn’t appear to. Her father, perhaps, played a large part in Rhia not falling completely from grace. But even their relationship was strained during these years.
  
  

  
  

  
  

  CURRENTLY
  

  Rhia never quite lost her wild nature, still partying and maintaining a carefree and relaxed demeanor. But, in recent years, she a least stopped shirking her various duties as a royal and Princess of Cidal. Though, that’s not to say she still didn’t perform her tasks in her own way. Many in the Court thought that her time partying would have made her unpopular. However, her time as a teen going into the town every now and then did the opposite. The citizens didn’t see her as an equal, per se, but they saw a humanized version of the royal family. As such, the people of Cidal were more receptive to Rhiannon’s attempt at hearing their grievances so she could relay them to the Court.
  
  Upon her father’s sudden death, a small part of Rhiannon flickered out. Still carefree, but her actions were tinged with this persisting sadness, at least to those who knew her. While she still kept a balancing calm to her brothers’ stressed nature, she threw herself into her duties a bit more. Rhiannon figured she might as well support them in whatever capacity she was able to. Of course, knowing that it would all depend on where marriage would land her after the Festival of Fantasy. Would she remain in Cidal, or be married off to another kingdom? It was a prospect that terrified her. Though even their relationship grew a bit strained as she grew older. She hated her mother for what she said about her, and resented her father for not doing more to protect her from her mother’s wrath. Especially after being called and labeled a disappointment. He had never combatted those words, and Rhiannon took his silence for his agreement with her. Yet, as the only parent that showed genuine affection for her, the death of her father weighed heavy on her.     A terrifying monster to behold at first glance, he towers above everyone almost like a giant come to life.     Perhaps once happy, born from commoner entertainers, he remembers learning how to dance and sing and play instruments as soon as he could - get put to work as soon as possible as the lifestyle that they led meant that everyone had to help in the business as soon as possible.
    
    A particular prodigy at the entire thing, he was bringing in crowds to the previously more obscure theater company on virtue of seeing a boy wonder. He was raking in money, and his family decided that it was time to consider settling down and trying to open a proper theater rather than just travelling about looking for work in street corners and festivals.
    
    And then bandits beseiged the caravan - the prodigy was awake as they slaughtered his family and friends, and took him to be labor.
    

    
    

    
    

    ADOLESCENT YEARS
    

    Raised to be a bandit, the childhood of performing to crowds and receiving praise and aodration quickly fell away to a life filled with danger and fighting for survival and food.
    
    In particular, taught to be a sword fighter, and managing to survive through kicking up dirt and other dirty tactics that kept the starving boy alive to see another day as a plan brewed in his mind to escape. Blood now painted his face where there once held stage makeup as he fought to earn every single piece of bread thrown his way.
    
    Finally, the chance seemed to arrive, a window of opportunity when they got to the capitol, a glance away and Auguste tore loose and disappeared into the crowd.

    Newly blessed with freedom, Auguste took up a new name and stole an old beat up violin to play on street corners - sometimes also working as a dancer or as a singer in order to make enough money to buy food for the day while taking refuge in a church.
    
    Lucky him, the king was having auditions for a new entertainer, and Auguste went in. First, as a violin player. Then, as a singer. And finally, a dancer.

    A simple lad on the surface, there is a carefully woven image that has been presented to the world: a carefree fuckboy - somewhat arrogant, somewhat mischievous. But ultimately good entertainment, and an easy fuck if you're into that kind of thing. Playful banter and overt flirting are mixed with a swagger built from the knowledge that he possesses an attractive face and knows how to utilize it. Good natured, and quite obviously harboring no ill-intent, he's become a bit of a "palace favorite" in that he's low maintenance and he's discreet.

    The joys of youth, born the eldest of twins, there was mischief to be had as a young lad. They were growing up to be servants, living out in a poorer part of the capitol, towards the forests of home. In their little neighborhood, there was a little hell to be raised, stolen sweets and bloodied lips and nicked fruits - the scavenging found in trash to trade to similarly conned neighbors for bits of coin or chestnuts.
    
    On the opposite side of this youthful delinquency was a traditional upbringing, harsh discipline hammered into Graham's spine and harsh stern words to keep an eye on his more carefree sister. It was his duty to protect and serve, and it was his only purpose to make his sister come home safely at the end of the day. Quick words and soft innuendo built to distract and dissuade angered victims from causing any more damage - a charmer indeed. He kept his sister from harm's way through honeyed words and a couple of flirts here and there.
    
    Graham quickly grew a reputation for being a flirt and a bit arrogant from all these near brushes with the law or the baker's wooden spoon. It didn't matter to him, because him and his sister were safe. They were inseparable. She listened to his fears and his insecurities and supported him, like he would do her. Who else would he need?
    

    
    

    
    

    ADOLESCENCE
    

    Graham liked taking long walks in the forest, sometimes living out there for a couple days before he came back to town to clean up whatever mess his sister had gotten into, and Aoife wanted to come with him. It was a snowy day, and the wind told him that it was going to be a rough one out there. But, he could never say no to Aoife so she tagged along on his trip.
    
    A blizzard rushed through the area, a harsh one. A week was spent huddled inside the house while the storm raged outside, and there was no sign of either of the Byrne twins. Their family went out to searching and after a day, found Graham, bloodied, and wandering the frozen wasteland in a state of near madness and delirium.
    
    He made a full recovery within a week, and that's when his family learned where the sister had gone.
    
    Aoife was dead.
    

    
    

    
    

    CURRENTLY
    

    A change to the generally kind but arrogant personality that consisted of childhood, wrapped up in his grief, a traditional family streaked with sadness lends itself to a repression and keeping the pain on the inside, but moving forwards with their lives. And that means leaving the boy to suffer in silence as Aoife became a taboo word to the family - something to never be brought up ever again as they played their masquerade of grieving.
    
    Angrier, and wrapping himself further into the outwards appearance that he created for himself when Aoife was alive, he became more arrogant, more aggressively flirtatious, while also spending longer and longer periods out in the forest as if searching for the parts of himself that had been ruthlessly torn from him in the storm.
    
    Childhood fun became teenage rebellion, which would not stand in the strict upbringing which was imposed on Graham, so he was sent to the palace as a gardener with the hopes that throwing him in such a high stress environment might discipline him. But the freedom from the oppressive cloud that had hung over the household led him to slowly uncurling from the ball of pain that he'd wrapped himself up in and allowed him to return to something perhaps just a little bit more his normal state.
    
    And so, he regulated back into a more playful kind of banter - something a bit less angry. A give and a take as his father soon grew to realize that Graham was all too pleased to be stuck in a palace surrounded by hot people that had never encountered someone bold enough to actively flirt with them without any kind of wish for reward outside of pleasure.

    A stern and foreboding father, but a kind and nurturing mother. They were a traditional family. A father, a mother, a sister, and a brother. Raised with traditional values and built to be the perfect family. Before, Cian thought that the worst the family would have to weather was Aoife's particulars for rebellion and delinquency. But Graham kept her so well in line that he learned that by pressuring Graham, he could keep both of them in line. Cian doesn't know how to approach his son, not well-equipped to tell him how to deal with his overpowering grief. He knew that his son is struggling, but the only thing he knows how to do is discipline - he doesn't know how to nurture or praise. This failure perhaps is the most crippling within the family unit.
    
    Similarly, Laoise lost a daughter, which was overpowering. She mothered Graham as best as she could, but trying to keep Cian from being to harsh on the boy whilst also dealing with her own pain was too much. Her husband had never been the most overtly emotional nor was she the most confrontational of people, and this shortcoming left her to drown in her own grief while trying to pretend like everything was normal for the family's sake. Ultimately, this was a failure on her part as well to properly address the pain and while she's nicer than her husband, she still suffers from the same failings.

    The rebellious younger sister, she came out of the womb exactly one minute away from Graham. The outgoing one of the two, and the one that was the most likely to fight people in the street, she was the one that dragged Graham into most of their childhood shenaniganery. She had no idea that Graham was being pressured into taking care of her, but she was the one that was more emotionally stable, and more comfortable in her skin than Graham was. It was her that told him it was okay to be attracted to men, and quelled most of his struggles with his sexuality and self-esteem. They were best friends, and from her viewpoint, it was her that was protecting Graham from their parents and their judgemental neighbors.
