Many, many years ago, the planet was ruled by many pantheons of Gods, their divine presence forcing order upon their respect lands. These Gods were from different origins and ruled different lands, and they each respected each other's claims for territory. The Gods used their might to administer justice and ensure tranquility over the people of Earth, in return for continued sacrifice and belief of the Earthly mortals, as their beliefs were the source of power for these Gods.

These Gods ruled undisputed over the Earth for many years, but times did change. They found people were moving away from their religion and their lands of worship. The Gods realized that their power was dwindling. They would have to turn to a different way of connecting with the human world. Soon, an idea came to their minds.

That was the origin of the Communicator Program. Each major God of every pantheon would choose a Communicator, a human person, to imbue a fraction of their powers into. These humans would represent these Gods in the world, able to infiltrate the ranks of the mortals easier than the Gods themselves and continue the God's quest with their new human aids.

The Gods then quickly went about setting their plan to action. First, they seized the mythical island of Avalon, a place no human or beast could simply wander upon, and designated it as the Communicator Headquarters, the place where the Gods would teach the Communicators their powers and limits, while also giving them a safe place to rest and a home base, so to speak. Then, the Gods appeared to their chosen mortals across the globe in a dream, telling them of this role, and then, transporting them to Avalon to train.

These Communicators would have a heavy task before them, but a future of being a champion of the globe and protector from evil awaited these young warriors.

That is, if they don't get them first.

The Communicators

An idea by the forgotten Gods of the world to bring back their fading powers, the Communicators are a select group of young men and women, chosen by the Gods on their 18th birthday, to represent the Gods in mortal affairs and protect the planet from threats the Gods, in their weakened state, cannot. Communicators are individually chosen by Gods based on their morals (Communicators ought to be, for the most part, honorable and kind) as well as their compatibility with their respective Gods. For example, a headstrong god such as Zeus would choose a similar Communicator in terms of personality. Communicators do not have to be from the same country as the God originated from (though it's unlikely for a God to pick a Communicator from a country where another pantheon resides- Zeus would probably not pick an Egyptian or Japanese communicator), nor do they have to be of the same gender.

Upon being chosen, Communicators would receive a dream from their respective God the night of their 18th birthday explaining their role as a Communicator, and their future of being sent to Avalon to learn and train to protect the globe. Communicators all would receive the following abilities the next day when they wake up-
1. Gift of Tongues- Communicators can fluently communicate in almost every single language in the modern world. Any language majors will be very pleased.
2. Gift of Strength- Communicators will notice a dramatic increase of strength, becoming peak-human in terms of strength almost overnight, with certain war gods experiencing an even greater boost.
3. Gift of Purity- Communicators are already of mostly honorable personality, but after receiving the dream, Communicators feel a burning desire to do good in the world and aid others. They also find that any ailments they had had vanished entirely.

Soon afterwards, the God would appear in a dream again, telling them that they would soon arrive to take them to Avalon, and that all their close friends and family would be notified and protected. The next morning, the Communicators would awaken midair in a great chariot, zooming in towards an ancient palace on an island, towards a new life as a Communicator.

Other than the three gifts that are common to all Communicators, Communicators inherit 3 distinct powers from their respective Gods, each relating to that God's field. These powers can be offensive, defensive, or supportive, and give the Communicators a great array of options when fighting their opponents. Communicators may also receive a weapon or other tool from their God to use (ex. Thor's Communicator might receive Mjolnir, Poseidon's might receive a magic trident or something).

Avalon

Avalon is a mythical island many miles off the coast of Great Britain. Surrounded by great amounts of magical fog, the island is entirely invisible to mortal eyes, but not to those of Gods. Only one mortal has ever stumbled upon the island, the legendary King Arthur of Camelot, who had taken great wounds in a fight with a mortal and was laid to rest on the island. Built around his tomb is a massive stone palace, into the mountains in the center of the small island, right on top of a waterfall.

This castle has become the "headquarters" of the Communicators, with many of the rooms being carved into bedrooms, training centers, armories, and so on.

The Story

The story starts at the beginning, when the Communicators are being magically chariot-ed to Avalon. From there, they'll reside, preparing and training, honing their potent but uncontrolled powers, for the threat that lurks.

Nic is a slender, well-built young man, with a toned physique. He stands at a rather tall height of 6’2”, his thin and lithe build giving him a borderline lanky look.

Outside of his musculature, though, Nic gives off a peculiarly ill vibe, his skin being pale and his eyes an algae-like lime green. His hair is typically not all too orderly, with a brilliant bleach-blonde color noticeable from far away. He's not all too fashionable, either, typically wearing boring jackets and jeans when it isn't a special occasion, more often that not of drab colors, not one to stand out in the apparel department. He has a small gold hoop in his left ear, something he found in a drawer of his house that reminds him of something or other.


  • Personality
    Quiet but determined, Nic is an ambitious soul, focused resolutely on bettering himself and the world. Nic views limitations to himself as something he must overcome to succeed, and is a driven warrior and scholar, focusing on pursuing greatness.

    First noticeable about Nic is his mysterious demeanor- he's certainly an enigma, a rather introverted young man who keeps his business secretive. He's certainly not shy, and has no problems with big crowds, but prefers little to no company in many instances.

    Nic is heavily focused on gaining knowledge, an avid reader and explorer of various intellectual mediums. Nic is a thinker before a warrior, and prefers to carefully analyze the situations before him before taking action. He sets great importance upon logic and typically holds people who lack this with scorn.
    When Nic does talk, one finds that he is a rather witty young man, a sly and clever individual with an overall calm and collected demeanor, not losing his carefully maintained calmness very often. He’s quite altruistic when you get to know him, protective of his peers, and selfless as well, willing to make great strides and sacrifices to keep the world safe.

    That being said, Nic does have some rough edges. Often times, his cool demeanor makes him seem a bit unsympathetic and judgemental, and his words can be somewhat abrasive. However, Nic is, at bare bones, a hard-working, decent human being, with good intentions at heart.

moe stands at 5" even with wild red hair surrounding a round face. Moe's skin is covered in freckles, and comes in pale or burned, there is no in between. Constantly smiling, her laugh lines are prevalent beside her blue eyes. She prefers comfort over beauty, and is most often seen in tee shirts and cargo pants of the men's variety, as their pockets are bigger. She sports a single piercing in her nose, and puts up with the teasing from her brothers about how she looks like a bull.


Personality
Moe is an excitable ball of energy. She does a dance when she finds a quarter. She's hardly dainty, nor particularly professional. Uncomfortable in high class situations, Moe prefers tailgate parties to dances. While friendly to all she meets, Moe isn't one to make friends, believing her brothers are all she needs for socialisation. She likes company, but does recognise that she needs some time to herself to be functional, as well.

Moe, a generally happy person and hard to make angry, will switch in a single second if she sees any injustice happening. She's not one for physical fights, but she isn't a stranger to them. She's fairly useless when it comes to any weapons, but packs a heavy punch. She also enjoys the odd prank, nothing harmful or anything, mostly just something both parties can laugh at. Occasionally, though, she will devise a humiliating trick to put someone in their place, and remind them how hurtful their actions can be.

Brief Bio
Moe leads a fairly normal life. She has 5 brothers. Two older twins, two younger twins, and her own twin. Her mother has since passed away, when Moe was fairly young. She remembers certain times with her mother, and certainly inherited her love for the arts, but Moe's Mom had little impact on her.

It was tradition for all of the MacSeain kids to learn an art of some kind. The eldest twins chose music, the younger ones choosing painting and Moe's twin choosing writing. Moe chose them all. Pottery, instruments, songwriting, photography, sewing, story writing, sketching... you name it, Moe has at least two workshop's worth of experience with it. Despite the wide range of areas she has tried, she seems to excel at each of them, particularly metal work, painting and poetry.

Reason For Choice
Lugh, once he knew how quick a study Moe was with craftsmanship, knew she was fit for the position. Despite being inexperienced with combat, Lugh knew she could be taught, and with one of her main skills being the art of the blacksmiths, she wasn't weak by any means. All in all, Lugh sees someone capable of the position, along with his own personality reflected back to him.

Combat

Weapon
Moe has become the owner of Areabhair, Lugh's spear. It's magical in nature, seemingly having a bloodthirsty mind of its own. It will tear its way through the battlefield on its own, only to return to the own who wields it. Legends say, as Moe has learned, that the spear has fiery properties to it as well, but the girl has yet to learn to control the spear itself, let alone any additional attributes it may have.

Not particularly a weapon, but Moe has also gained possession of Lugh's self sailing boat, the Wave Sweeper, or Sguaba Tuinne. Lugh himself was loaned it by the sea god Mannan.

Powers

I. increased learning
Being first and foremost a god of the arts, any skill Moe tries to pick up with take half the time usually needed for mastering it. Learning a skill does still take time, but not as long as someone else. She's also learned the art of teaching, and while her students won't be as quick a study as their teacher, they will find themselves understanding the subject quickly.

II. Zone of truth
an older and lesser known aspect of Lugh is that he's god of truth, contracts and oaths. Moe can create an area around herself, and anyone within this area has to speak the truth. The area doesn't cherry pick who tells the truth, though, so allies are also subject to telling no lies. With her skill level right now, Moe has to concentrate so hard on maintaining the area that she can't understand or hear what the people are saying, and misses the truths they speak. She will have to rely on her team to question and retain the information.

III. Minor Healing
Moe can heal minor wounds with little issue. anything bigger than a gash, though, will heal the original inflicted, but transfer the pain to Moe herself.

chione recently decided to give her brown locks with bleached blonde streaks running through them a slight change; she now has bangs instead of her usual look. she sports emerald green eyes, with a dust of light freckles due to being in the sun for too long when her brother would drag her outside to get some fresh air. her eyebrows, like the rest of her hair, are thick and can be unruly, with long thick eyelashes to boot. her lips are on the bigger side like her mother's, and they are a soft pink, despite the many cups of coffee she's had and despite the nagging from her mother about staining.

chione always has little bags under her eyes, from staring at the screen too long and staying up too late doing her streams. her ears are pierced three times in her right ear and four in her left. chio is five foot, nine inches tall, with a slender but curvy figure, but she stands hunched over her video games most of the time, making it seem like the girl is five foot five.

personality
it wouldn't be wrong to say that chione has a pretty bad attitude. since no one but her mother and her brother were really nice to her in her family, she would, when her cousins would come to tease her, do all the barking and biting necessary to prove to them that she wasn't someone to mess with. she's not mean, necessarily, but her brute honesty and lack of care can be seen as callous. the happiest - if one can say that chione looks happy, with her constant resting mean face - chio seems is when she is invested in a video game, or solving a puzzle. when those items are taken away from her, or broken or ripped up, then chione's internalized anger comes out in full force, or when someone she cares for is threatened. chio also has a deep-seated need to win and be the best, which stemmed from not being enough for the rest of her family.

brief bio
chione was born to an egyptian princess named safiyah and to an archaeologist named thomas jones, obsessed with finding egyptian work during a long project near the nile. they fell in love when the princess began her own work at the same site, and after two years, they had a child together, who safiyah named chione after the river she played in frequently as a child. throughout their relationship safiyah and her lover dealt with the backlash from her family, who had wanted her to marry another royal member, not a "visitor". to really help it stick that her decision was hers and hers only, thomas changed his last name to hers, mubarak, and chione was given that same last name.

unfortunately some years later, thomas would go into the dig site in the morning and never return; there had been a collapse underground and thomas hadn't made it out alive. safiyah was desperate to take care of chione, now four, and her younger brother husani, in a proper way, and was forced to grovel at her parents' feet for them to accept her back into the family and to make amends. they were quick to accept her back, but when they looked at chione and saw her skin was fairer like her late father's, she was shunned, while they doted on husani, whose skin matched their mother's.

throughout her entire life, she has dealt with the internalized shame of not looking like the rest of her family, who cajoles her for not fitting in and purposefully would leave her out of traditions. instead of crumbling under the pressure, chione was hardened like a diamond, closing off herself emotionally to them and focusing her attention on the online world. when she would get home from school, she would go to her room immediately, playing video games and gaining friends that way. soon enough, she found herself with thousands of followers, all that enjoyed watching her talking and competing in different games as a pro gamer, using the online alias nike, as a nod to the middle name her father had decided to give her, berenike.

all of the royal children, once they heard about the communicator program, immediately began their training. of course, chione would be left out some days when the children decided to train without her, only being included if they wanted a punching bag for easy practice. her brother husani would tell her if he could about where they would be training that day, and after a while, chione decided herself not to attend their sessions and to train by herself, or with husani. she was tired of her cousins treating her like she was trash, and felt training with them was just making it worse. her cousins felt like she would have no chance of becoming the communicator sekhmet wanted - after all, she didn't look the part. if only they had known the truth, that their messy actions would cause sekhmet to overlook them.

sekhmet appeared to chione through signs, signs of lions, of the sun, of the desert, but it didn't really hit chione until she'd snapped at the signs and sekhmet appeared in front of her with the same amount of fury she'd shown. after a lot of arguing about why exactly chione was the one she'd decided on, since even chio was confused and surprised by the choice, chione accepted her fate as sekhmet's communicator, but she isn't going to like it.

reason for choice
sekhmet's choice of chione came due to the girl feeling so separated from her egyptian culture and heritage, even while living there as the daughter of royalty. the warrior goddess felt this path as a communicator with chio would be a true, real connection the girl could not deny or reject, bringing her closer to her rightful history and bringing up the girl's bruised confidence. she could feel that chione was a good person at heart, which sealed the deal. also, the spite of giving someone who was better with fictionalized situations of war and violence better than realistic ones just soothed sekhmet's petty soul; they bicker about it constantly.

❝ C O M B A T ❞
weapon

sekmet gifted chione with a set of bracelets that, when activated, turn into gauntlets that can shoot out discs and create a bow with never-ending arrows, all created via solar energy. these are solar-powered and of course can be used more efficiently in the daylight than at night, even though the moonlight charges them as well. the gauntlets are heat-resistant and are cool to the touch, keeping chio's hands from getting damaged from holding solar energy so close.

powers
I. war manipulation - sekhmet bestowed her greatest power upon chione, but with grand limitations so the girl couldn't go completely buckwild. although there is chaotic energy running through her veins, chione cannot induce crowds larger than fifty or so people into committing violent actions since her aura of violence can only spread so far before its effect is weakened. even though chione has weapon and combat proficiency, an enhanced condition, and the ability to intuitively perceive her opponent's moves, she tends to use her tactical analysis to help her with her speedruns and completing other kinds of games more often than actually fighting, unless her cousins are asking for it. chione can feel no fear, and the need for victory not only comes from her need to impress but also from sekhmet herself. last but not least, chio can create weapons out of violent energies, but these take a lot of energy out of her; she'd rather stick to her gauntlets.

II. healing - sekhmet was also known as the goddess of healing, granting chione access to her healing magic, which is infused in chione's cooking and just from concentration on the wound. she heals recent wounds faster and more efficiently than older ones.

III. lioness physiology - sekhmet was represented by lionesses, which were considered by the egyptians to be the fiercest hunters. chione has a natural empathy and ability to talk with any kind of cat, having most luck with those in the pantherinae sub-family. she also can shapeshift into any cat, once again having the best of luck with those in the pantherinae sub-family (gaining the abilities of whichever cat she turns into), and also domestic cat forms. chio also doesn't have to shapeshift all the way into a cat; she can just unsheath her claws, mimic a meow, or grow fangs at will.

Voland's face and body language gives off a confident aura, standing up straight and holding his head high. He is usually seen wearing something loose and comfortable such as jeans, sneakers, a jacket. Most of this clothings are neutral in color though he does like to throw in some variety every once in a while.

Personality
While Voland's deity, Ares, may be associated with killing and destruction, Ares is the god of war, not slaughter. While Voland is certainly an angry and violent individual, he also holds onto certain values such as honor, loyalty, and order. This makes him an incredible team player if given enough room to operate though other headstrong individuals may disagree. He is still completely capable of working on own but he will find a lone wolf mentality hard to keep up if it involves leaving an ally behind.
Being a strategist as much as a warrior, Voland understands that not everything can or needs to be solved through brute strength alone. When speaking with those he is unfamiliar with, he carefully chooses his words, blending caution with tact. With those he is familiar with, Voland has a much easier time speaking freely, letting them know exactly what is on his mind and trusting them to not take offense to what he says.
Voland does not exactly despise the weak but rather those who refuse to become strong, especially if they have the ability to do so. As such, there is nobody he drives harder than himself, constantly pushing himself to go further and improve.

Brief Bio
Voland's life is rather average. He did not lose his parents in any tragedy nor did he suffer any traumatic event that changed him forever. Instead, he was simply the youngest of three boys who's hot head was more street smart than book smart. While his older siblings, both studious and high achieving individuals, grew up to be respectable, influential figures in society, Voland was content with remaining on the field playing sports. As he had not yet learned how to control his temper however, the young Voland frequently came into conflict with his coaches, teammates, and fellow players and soon left team sports altogether. He instead turned his attention to martial arts, a sport that did not require him to work with others while allowing him to vent his anger. He was soon picked up by a trainer whom he formed a close relationship with and under the man's guidance, quickly started dominating tournaments and competitions.
As he continued to compete, the sport slowly turned into an addiction for Voland and he began picking fights within the ring as well as on the streets. Though his trainer continued to try to counsel the young man, one especially violent scuffle eventually led to Voland spending some time in prison. While his connections to his brothers did help him receive a slightly more lenient sentencing, Voland's trainer was less so. He approached the young man with an ultimatum: either Voland cleans himself up and learn to control himself or the trainer, refusing to enable Voland to hurt himself and others, will leave.
After serving his sentence, Voland agreed to his trainer's demands and took a break from competitive martial arts. He turned the focus of his training towards control over power. He is now back in the competitive scene where his the balance of his ferocity and control continues to keep him a dominant figure in the sport.

Reason For Choice
Many would have expected Ares to choose some warlord, criminal, or any other individual experienced in bloodshed as his Communicator. In reality, Ares was not searching for a monster but rather a fighter, something he found in Voland. While he took notice with Voland's skill in combat, he found the young man's fight against himself as he learned to control his temper and body even more intriguing. Impressed not only by Voland's skill but his will, drive, and commitment, Ares eventually singled him out as one worthy of becoming his Communicator. Still, Ares likes to test Voland every once in a while, making sure that he continues to be both physically and mentally worthy of the war god's gifts.


Combat

Weapon
Ares' gift to Voland comes in the form of a bladeless, flaming hilt that answers to Voland and Voland alone. When activated, the hilt can transform into a variety of weapons and shields, including swords, spears, chains, bucklers, and even throwing knives. It is not able capable of taking the form of any firearm nor is it able to split into multiple objects. Voland may transform it into either a sword or shield but not both at the same time.
Regardless of form, the weapons are always easily identified as they are always set alight by a never ending fire. The weapon will retain its form even after leaving Voland's hand and can be recalled at will. Furthermore, if picked up by any other individual other than Voland, the weapon will return to its original hilt form, burning the hand of the individual in the process.
The heat of the flames on the weapons still has an upper limit. This limit is high enough however to allow Voland to slice through most metals with ease. When held by Voland, the areas around his hands will cool down, allowing him to grip it without hurting himself.

Powers

I. Flames of War
Besides classic pyromancy, Ares' blessing allows Voland to create constructs with his fire. The larger and more complicated the construct, the more power and concentration is required to create and maintain it. For example, a fireball is easier to create than a sword of flame which itself is easier to create than a pack of flaming hounds. This power also allows Voland to protect himself from fire and heat.

II. Innate Warrior's Ability
Supposing that the object is not enchanted to restrain him from doing so, Voland can immedietly becomes proficient with any weapon or object he comes in contact with for the purpose of combat regardless of its origins, details, or current state. He also becomes a better warrior both mentally and physically as his strength, speed, and endurance are not only boosted but continue to grow the longer he remains in combat. While he does not "think faster", Voland's mind processes information and senses at a higher efficiency, allowing him to notice more and catch smaller details that would normally be overlooked. This also allows him to react more quickly to his environment may they be traps, ambushes, or attacks from behind.

III. Avatar of War
A gift and a curse, the final ability Ares gave allows Voland to become the physical manifestation of war's destructive power. With this ability, Voland undergoes an even more dramatic physical and mental change as he turns into a 7 foot flaming warrior clad in armor. Physically, he becomes far beyond human, possessing strength, speed, and toughness capable of rivaling a demigod. He also receives a sort of limited shapeshifting as even though he retains his basic size and shape, Voland is able to change his body to match his needs from sprouting wings to growing claws to even enlarging his teeth to resemble fangs. Voland's combat abilities also drastically improve, becoming second to only the god of war himself.
This ability still has its price for while a warrior is still a man, war is nothing more than an unfeeling force. War does not discerene between innocent and guilty nor does it divide civilian from soldier. War simply lays waste to everything it touches and so it is with Voland when he becomes the avatar of war.​

Eshe is 5'7 and weighs in at 132lb, he is generally lean but stands as straight as possible. His hair is black, and eyes are gray, his skin tone is fairly olive. His body mass is mostly muscular, his hair is unkept and has grown down to his shoulders, his ears are oddly pointed from a birth deformity.

The numerous tattoos that cover his body depict fairly unknown arcane iconography mostly in the form of leering demonic faces, ranging from subtle to openly ostentatious. While Eshe is a fan of clothing and various things to cover his body, he rarely wears shirts and his family has forbade him from wearing anything that covers his tattoos. He's mostly seen in regular jeans or pants with an unzipped jacket or coat, he has a tendency to not wear shoes that often.


  • Personality
    Mature but not very serious, Eshe is for all intents and purposes, an adult and expects to be treated as such. He keeps a level of maturity on him but isn't very serious about a lot of what he says which causes a lot of jokes to be missed from the very start. Eshe is determined and once he sets his sights on something, he won't stop until he finishes. He's the type of person to live in the moment instead of moping in the past or worrying about the future. Eshe is cordial and genial, willing to assist people with what they are doing but can often seem too forceful about it despite his good intentions.

    Around people, Eshe is highly sociable and always glad to have a conversation, he asks questions that relate to the person in order to learn more about them. He doesn't hold many secrets and is willing to divulge any information about himself granted somebody asks him for it.

    Eshe is a warrior and was trained as such, he likes to learn about things and gain more knowledge but is an avid procrastinator and gets sidetracked a lot. He's brash and runs into things without thinking and that goes for his social life as well, being unintentionally blunt and talking without proper thought put into his words. Eshe is always in a good mood and in an effort to make people happy, he tries to reflect that good mood onto other people. He's sympathetic and empathetic and isn't the type of person to just back off when somebody is down in the dumps, no matter what, he will always try to pull that person back up and make them happy even if it's only for that moment.

yuka stands at about average height compared to most other women, but has a noticeably smaller frame. it's often that she's mistaken to be more petite than she actually is. she doesn't have much muscle, having never been the athletic type, but yuka still looks reasonably healthy. she's always had a naturally high metabolism rate; being skinny has never been an issue. she has a perpetual smirk on her face that gives her an air of mystery reminiscent to that of the mona lisa.

yuka has never dyed her hair and its current colour is her natural black, kept a little past shoulder length with a set of somewhat wispy bangs. she takes great care to keep her hair tidy, as well as the rest of her appearance. style-wise, yuka tries to be trendy while maintaining her modesty– she dislikes showing too much skin at any point in time, though a few cut outs and peeks here and there are fine.

yuka is an ambivert, and though reasonably sociable, has no issue with being on her own. friends are very important to her, but she doesn't believe she would die without human interaction for a long period of time; she'd at most just feel a little lonely, since she has no issue keeping herself entertained. that said, yuka can't really remember a point in time in her life that she was really, truly alone. when it comes to self-esteem, yuka has always been comfortable with who she was.

she's always struggled with change and is somewhat inflexible. yuka prefers doing things with a clear plan, and hates surprises. she may panic if things don't go her way, which is why she plans everything down to the last variable. it's almost annoying.

befriending people was never any trouble for her, though she's never usually the one to initiate friendships. yuka sees most of her platonic relations to be closer to that of an acquaintance than an actual friend, but her close friends can guarantee absolute loyalty from her. she cares greatly about the select few that she calls her "besties". yuka doesn't believe she could ever recover broken trust or forgotten loyalty, and it'll upset her first, but later result in great animosity whenever you interact with her.

while yuka mostly seems indifferent to most things, often sitting on the fence in discussions since she can't be bothered to form an opinion, she has a strong sense of justice, and is undoubtedly headstrong when it comes to mistreatment or abuse, never hesitating to stick up for someone she thinks is being bullied or wronged. yuka's strong moral compass has been present from a young age, and she's always been averse to rule-breaking and other things she considers to be wrong. some may call her a stick in the mud for sticking so strongly, but she feels that there isn't any shame in doing the right thing. that said, yuka can also be unreasonably petty and stupidly stubborn when it comes to certain situations to the point that it becomes frustrating to others. she thinks it's okay to use underhanded methods to get back at people, though she would never want anyone to actually get hurt.
otherwise, most of the time yuka is very cool-headed, and usually acts as the voice of reason in disagreements.

yuka never really shares very much about herself unless asked, though she herself is very observant and has trained her skill of reading people over the years. she has a good hold over her emotions and is able to hide them well most of the time, and she almost never hesitates to help people who she deems are good. honestly, even if they were downright assholes, yuka would probably still cave and lend a hand in one way or another. she's very reliable, and is never seen crying.

yuka was born the younger of the two satō sisters on 12th october 2018. the satō family had been the main caretakers of fushimi inari-taisha, the head shrine of inari, though her parents were never very involved in the first place. for most of her childhood, yuka was raised by her grandmother, the kannushi of the shrine, and brought up in the shinto faith, with inari as her main worshipped god. her grandmother often told her stories of the kami when she was a little girl, and yuka was very fascinated with all of it.

when she was 9 or 10, her grandmother was suddenly diagnosed with cancer. yuka had spent days in the shrine, sometimes skipping school against the wishes of her parents, praying for inari to cure her grandmother. she should've expected only indifference, and her grandmother's inevitable death shook yuka to the core.

after that, she started telling people she was an atheist. that wasn't true, though. you can't hate someone you don't think exists, and yuka blamed inari to the point she found them despicable.

yuka threw herself wholeheartedly into school life afterwards. she had many friends, and her grades were outstanding, though some teachers knew her as a troublemaker of sorts. she only got in trouble because she stood in and fought someone when she saw someone getting beat up. they deserved it. most of the time outside school was spent studying, managing student council or occasionally going out with her friends, but yuka had to make sure her results were stellar. she had become set on going into the medical field because of her grandmother. that was the first step; after that was curing cancer.
she knew it was a little wishful, but she was ambitious.

she was just about ready to apply for kyoto university, confident to get in, when inari had shown up in her dream. yuka had tried to punch them. it didn't go very well, and currently, she's frankly quite furious with this whole situation, and she just wants to go back and become a doctor as planned.

yuka has a natural affinity towards foxes, being able to communicate with them and command them to a degree. she is unable to take the form of a fox but instead has adopted their graceful agility and speed of the animals. at later stages, inari may grant her the ability to call upon one of their kitsune spirits to assist her. so far, most foxes yuka has spoken to are kind of assholes.

hoju
inari granted yuka a smaller, weaker version of their most powerful ability to grant wishes and remove misfortune. with her lesser wish-fulfilling jewel, yuka is able to do a range of things from buffing allies to cursing enemies. however, she draws directly from her connection with inari to wish on the hoju, meaning it only works when inari feels like it.

futagokoro
yuka is able to cause people to hallucinate, altering their perspectives. their memory of the hallucination would remain, but the fact that it wasn't real would be up to them to figure out. this power can affect one or more people, but as the number of people increases, the exhausted yuka will become. the same can be said for how long she can sustain it. for ideal results, she'll need to be in a relaxed state where she can focus on the images she's causing her target to see. if her mind wanders, the illusion may end up a little odd, or break entirely. when a target is under the effect of the hallucination, a small flame marking will appear anywhere on their skin. to break out of the hallucination, one must cross their fingers to form a diamond and blow through the shape. upon doing so, the target will feel a small sting where the mark has disappeared.

ezra with his sun-touched tousled blonde hair and blue eyes, stands at six foot tall and an ego that adds at least two or three inches to his height, surely. he has surprisingly clear skin despite the amount of time he spends in the sun, other than the random freckles that have appeared on his arms and neck, something he's somewhat snarkily proud of, due to the fact that he doesn't burn in the sun. however, he does sometimes pout that he doesn't really tan either. the only real mark against his clear skin, is the small scar on and slightly above his left eyebrow from an accident when he was younger.

Her lanky build and lack of pronounced curves give the appearance of someone whose body refused to fully grow up, stuck in its teenage shape. Cora's facial features are fairly average: dark brown, rounded eyes, an ever so slightly upturned nose over rather narrow lips and a somewhat angular chin. If not for her prominent eyebrows, it might be quite easy to forget her face. However, at least her constantly mildly exasperated expression tends to stick in people's minds most of the time.

Cora almost always wears her shoulder-length brown hair tied back at least partially, but most commonly in a ponytail. She isn't too picky about her clothes - usually, practical aspects are more important to her than what's fashionable. She does have a preference for light, cool colours such as white, light grey or pastel blue, though.

Personality
While not exactly a loner, Cora isn't quite what you would call a people person. Until she warms up to someone and forms a friendship, relationships are strictly business - sharing information, you help me out in case X and I'll help you with case Y, that sort of thing. Whether this is because she can't trust others easily or just feels little need for companionship with other human beings, Cora isn't sure herself. However, this trait is most prominent when it comes to romance: It's something she just cannot wrap her head around. While she doesn't disapprove of other people falling in love, she can't help but wonder what exactly about it is so desirable.

Despite this aloofness, Cora does try to be polite and friendly in her conversations - at least as long as this is reciprocated. She can neither stand people belittling others (especially if it concerns herself) nor excessive boasting. If she feels like the character traits of her conversation partner are lacking, she becomes prone to losing her composure, which results in anything from passive-aggressive or snappish comments to a full-scale tantrum in rarer cases. Additionally, her temper sometimes flares when she isn't sure what a person wants from her during an exchange, this time out of insecurity rather than anger. While Cora is fairly quick to calm down after such an outburst, she tends to hold grudges for a while.

While Cora does not necessarily insist on honesty (after all, keeping part of the truth hidden and telling white lies are among her own habits), she hates betrayal of all sorts. A certain level of cunning is alright with her - not every confrontation needs to be head-on -, but plans that involve breaking promises or deceiving people who put their trust in the schemer are distasteful to her. As such, she is also a bit reluctant to make commitments she isn't completely certain she can uphold. Since Cora believes most problems can be solved in a fairly direct manner, she would also rather find a straightforward (admittedly, sometimes an impulsive) solution than spend a lot of time planning and plotting.

She values open spaces and nature, and tends to get along with animals. In fact, Cora becomes friendly and affectionate with them much faster than with her fellow humans. Being outside is usually tied to moving her body for her, whether it's just a walk or actual exercising. If she is stuck indoors for more than a few days, she'll get into a quite sour and impatient mood, which means the saying "there is no bad weather, only bad clothes" has almost become her catchphrase. In a similar vein, she prefers physical activity over long stretches of mental work. That is not to say she doesn't use her brain at all, but you won't exactly be finding her solving complicated puzzle games or other brain-teasers in her free time.

Although Cora prefers to work on her own most of the time - "what I can do without help, I will" -, she can function quite well in a group, as long as you don't expect her to lead. Viewing responsibility over anyone but herself as a liability, she prefers positions where she isn't in charge. And while she will give her all for the success of the team, she expects others to do the same, easily becoming infuriated with people who settle for mediocre or less when they could drag others down with their behaviour.

Brief Bio
Cora's family consists of her mother, a sister two years older than her and herself. Her father left the family in a fairly unspectacular divorce when Cora was about one year old, and the only thing she ever saw of him were alimony payments. However, as she was used to this family situation, she never felt anything was missing from her life, leading to a fairly average, happy childhood for the most part.

The only unusual event in her life was during her primary school time, when she managed to get separated from the group of students and teachers on the school's hiking day and got lost in the forest. Although a good number of adults went looking for her, it ended up with her somehow making her way back to the bus station where the class started the trip on her own, unharmed, only a few hours later. Cora herself can't remember the whole incident very well, however, and especially doesn't recall being actually lost in the sense of not knowing where she was at any point, but she doesn't know why and how she found her way back either.

Aside from that, the only struggle in her life were her grades in school. Since she wasn't too interested in most subjects, sitting down and studying for hours on end turned out painfully boring. While some subjects never yielded anything better than a C, Cora somehow still managed to avoid failing her classes, although narrowly in some years. Before becoming a Communicator, her plans for the future were to become an animal care attendant.

Reason For Choice
The main reason for Artemis to choose Cora was her affinity to natural landscapes and animals, despite growing up in a large city like Rome. Another thing that piqued her interest about the girl was that little stunt in forest navigation as a child. Since the goddess assumed Cora would take to her other attributes such as archery just as well because of this, she basically stopped searching for other candidates once she had noticed her. Though naturally, with Artemis being a virgin goddess, Cora being a virgin and not particularly interested in changing that fact most likely played some part in that decision, too.

Weapon
A silver* recurve bow, with an inlaid disc of moonstone in the grip. The gem functions as a sort of magical aiming help for newbie archer Cora, causing her arrows to hit the mark more often than they would at her normal skill level. The effect depends on the moon phase, however, being strongest during a full moon and non-existent during new moon. The bow comes with a quiver of silver* arrows that replenishes automatically. The individual arrows can be turned into javelins under the influence of moonlight, though Cora has almost no experience throwing them.
* Not actual silver - that's not suited for any kind of weapon -, but appearing like it, whatever the underlying material may actually be.

I. Huntress Perception
Becoming Artemis's Communicator heightened Cora's senses, giving her more sensitive hearing, better night vision (though she cannot see in complete darkness either, of course) and seeing faraway things better, as well as more accurate smell and taste. Though the latter two are not good enough to rival animal senses, she can tell more subtle differences in aromas - which may or may not come in handy in some situations. Also, while her overall speed remains unchanged, performing single swift movements and moving quietly comes a bit easier to Cora due to being more aware of the way her body moves.

II. Touch of Cure and Plague
While Cora cannot heal any sort of wounds, she can cure disease through touching her hand to the ill person (herself included) or animal. Since poisonings are often similar to sicknesses in symptoms, she tends to be able to lift those as well. Through touch, she can also inflict a disease or poisoning on a healthy being, with the limitation that it has to be an affliction she has experienced herself. At her current skill level of this ability, her healing is not strong enough to cure (or cause, for that matter) acutely life-threatening problems, however.

III. Animal Empathy
With Artemis being not only a goddess of the hunt but also of wild animals, and Cora's own knack with animals, it is no wonder this is her third power. While she cannot "speak" animal language in the common sense of the word, she can establish a connection to most wild things easily. As a consequence, taming and training animals comes easy to her, and she can pick up on simple information the creatures may be trying to communicate (e.g. "danger ahead", but not "in 200 meters somebody is trying to start a forest fire" or something). This works best with four-legged animals, however; birds are harder for Cora to understand and communication with water-dwelling animals is rudimentary.

Oftentimes the first thing you will notice about Xolani is her clothes. Ranging from color, style, and season Xolani is very much a fashionista who takes pride in her sense of personal style, regardless of others opinions. Though her usual attire is graphic hoodie designs and either jeans or leggings. She stands at a modest 5’4”, with dark brown and large almond shaped eyes the color of chestnuts. 95% of the time it’s common to see her hair in tight braids with the small exception being that she wants to try something new. It also isn’t unusual to see her with either rings and small colors dyed in her hair throughout her braids.


Xolani has an angular face shape that she believes was inherited by from her mother in contrast from her own father’s broadness. Her ears tend to stick out and are bigger than what she likes, and a small gemstone piercing adorns her nose.

Not being much of a fighter and with her short frame and little muscles, she isn’t exactly in shape either. Usually disliking physical activities in favour of her much more creative and intellectual pursuits, she doesn’t allow herself to be troubled with much physical activities.

Personality
Xolani is a joker and and loves to be surrounded by friends. She has a very social disposition and enjoys having different interactions with other people regardless of where she is. Usually Xolani isn’t bothered with the type of interaction that she receives, whether it be shallow or meaningful she learns knows how to make the most of every interaction as well as the information that she gets from it. She isn’t necessarily a loud person, and in reality she can be very relaxed about most things in general. As much as she enjoys conversations she doesn’t necessarily go out of her way to be apart of them.


Even so, it is hard for her to open up to most people and prefers to keep her problems to herself, trusting that they can either go away or that she can handle them on her own. Leading this, she tends to put on a brave face at difficult times and it can be difficult for people to fully understand whether or not she’s genuinely happy at the moment or if she’s trying placate either her own fears or someone else’s. Despite how social she tends to be, she only considers at least 2 other people to be her close friends. At most she has aqquantances or friendships that aren’t as close as she wishes they were.

Another facet of Xolani’s personality is that she loves to learn and has a natural aptitude towards leaning towards her own creative pursuits. Xolani moved from Kenya to Britain with her father and mother shortly after she turned 2 years old. First settling, in London for the time being, her parents divorced and she was raised almost entirely by her father as her mother has decided to move to France. The divorce went as amicably as possible with Xolani having had lived in both France and Britain to be with both her mother and father as they shared custody with her father having primary.


Xolani was fortunate enough to attend a private school throughout her life as her father runs a successful mortuary business. She doesn’t have any siblings except for the cousins that she frequently talks to, so that she was mainly raised as a single child. Though, her mother is currently pregnant with her little brother. She has a close relationship with both her parents and tends to live with her mother in France during the summer.

Athena mainly chose Xolani for her passion of knowledge as well as her openness towards other people unlike herself. Transfiguration: Xolani is able to transform either people or animals or things into various objects or other creatures. Thought depending on the size as well as the shape of the subject that she’s changing, it can change back on it’s own. The smallest objects and creatures usually transform back within an hour or two. Larger objects like an adult human can take up to 6 hours. The brain function isn’t changed and the person is usually aware of the transformation.

Maria has a beyond normal childhood. She grew up in a close knit family in Southie. Her mom is an elementary school teacher, and her dad is a dock worker. She grew up with 3 siblings; her older sister, her twin brother, and her younger brother. She went to a public school, she played softball and soccer and did dance on the weekends.

When she was in high school, she was in the backseat of a car that her older sister was driving, and her brother was in the passenger seat. A deer dashed in front of the car while on the highway, and her sister slammed on the breaks. Maura’s brother wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the car. Maura ran out of the car while her sister called for an ambulance, and preformed CPR on him until it arrived, to no avail. Once the paramedics arrived he was declared dead. Maura held her twin and weeped. She didn’t move until her father came and lifted her away so the body could be moved.

Reason For Choice
Brigid admires Maura’s empathy and her desire to help care for others, even at risk to herself. She took note of Maura’s natural ability to pick up on modern day science, and how to apply it to people. She was particularly moved by Maura’s love for her brother while he was dying, as it reminded Brigid of how she mourned at the loss of her son.

Weapon
Maura was gifted a sword by Brigid. The sword was made by blacksmith in a forged that was blessed by Brigid herself. It is made of exceptionally pure metal and it never dulls.

I. Healing- Maura is able to hasten the healing processes of wounds and illnesses. This is by far her strongest ability as it’s the one she utilizes the most. She can’t fix brain trauma or regrow limbs, but she does her best.

II. Small scale pyrokinesis- She can produce a flame in the palms of her hands. It’s never any bigger that a softball, and she can’t throw it. It’s mostly used if she wants to melt something or heat it up.

III. Emotion Transfer- When someone if feeling sad, angry, and other negative emotions, Maura can transfer those to herself by taking that persons hand and squeezing it a few times. She speculated that she can do this with other more positive emotions, but she doesn’t want to try it.

Her life didn't dramatically change after the death of her parents, her guardians tried to take her to playdates but she wouldn't leave her grandparents' side for fear she would lose them too.

As a result of this, she didn't go out to play with her classmates after school and went straight home to help with the cafe. It was when she overheard her close friend making fun of her family during a parent visit day at school did she become reclusive. She was hurt at a young age and she didn't want to feel it again. She was proud and grateful for her family and no one should badmouth them. Haruna went through middle school and high school without friends her age, making friends with the older visitors of the cafe and her elderly neighbours instead. Along with working at the cafe, Haruna would volunteer at the community gardens; helping to maintain the fruits and vegetables. She was glad no one else her age would voluntarily get down and dirty and she enjoyed her alone time with the few middle-aged volunteers.

When Amaterasu showed herself in a dream one night, Haruna thought of it as a fairy tale. She didn't take it seriously until she appeared again and again. She was still doubtful about the goddess' decision and she repeatedly wished that she could stay with her family forever. But it fell on deaf ears as Amaterasu was adamant. The diety promised protection for her family and Haruna unwillingly accepted her offer. 02 Tai Sen-ji: Haruna is able to transfer energy to objects and other beings, almost like a burst of strength. But this comes at a cost from her own energy and stamina.

03 Tengoku Kishun: Amaterasu gave her an extraordinary gift of reversing time in a fixed space. Haruna will have to cast a spell on an area (objects, or beings) and a yellow glow wraps the target area before it starts to revert the target to its' original state. This can be used as healing or repairing machines. With training, Haruna would even be able to regenerate severed limbs. Using this ability requires time, attention and energy, Haruna would not be able to defend herself and may be too weak to move depending on how much she uses this ability.
