"Attention YoRHa units. This is your Commander speaking. Please prepare for mission debriefing. Large amounts of Machine activity has been picked up at the abandoned Amusement Park. We believe this may be the sight for a new factory for Machine production after our recent successful raid on the Old Factory nearby. Your mission today is to confirm what is happening at the Amusement Park and put an end to it.

Instead of your usual Operators, you will all be aided by one single Operator for this mission: 9O. You will take flight units to the touchdown point in the City Ruins. The specific location has been sent to your Pod. Best of luck, YoRHa units. Glory to mankind. Commander out."

The touchdown point is on the roof of a decrepit, medium-sized building, about thirty floors in height. All the YoRHa units except 9O will be taking flight units from the bunker at the Lunar Colony and landing there to begin Earth exploration. During the flight over, some units may encounter aerial Machines. Lately, most of them have been observed to be docile unless provoked, although some may become hostile on sight. The Amusement Park is just on the outside of the City Ruins. The City Ruins is home to Machines of various sizes. As with the aerial Machines, most of them are docile unless provoked, but some may attack on sight.

Walking down the hallway of the Luner colonies Operators division was a man by the name of Favian Albert or better known by his call sign O9. In his cybernetic fingers where flash drives containing information on mission details and the history and records of the crew, he would be working with for the seeable future. In the other hand was a large cup of coffee he is sure he going to need soon going by this crew's information. Taking a right he would enter into his workspace a small soundproof room with a large PC in front of him which consents of several large screens for various uses and a comfy chair. All of this was necessary considering he would be the only Operator working on this mission which is rather unusual for someone of even his talents because most Operators would go their entire career only working with one person at a time and here he is with Eight. The higher-ups must have been impressed with how he helped his last men live into retirement if they trust him with this much. Or maybe this was a test from his father regardless he'll see it thour.

Taking a seat and folding out one of his figures, he pulls out a cord and plugs it right into the computer, Uploading on to the screens was the names, call signs, and pictures of each member of the operation flowed by a screen next to them establishing a connection between him and the others. It was certainly an odd bunch for a mission Three scouts and Five Combat's, a rather uneven team but it's what he has to work with. Turning on his mic he spoke for each member to hear "To all units, this is your Operator, call sign O9. Until further notice, all orders from myself, as well as those from headquarters, will be going thour me. If you need instructions or information do not hesitate to ask I will do my best to provide whatever is possible. Now I know you just received a debriefing but I will be reminding you of the mission regardless, large amounts of Machine activity has been picked up at the abandoned Amusement Park. We believe this may be the sight for a new factory for Machine production after our recent successful raid on the Old Factory nearby. Your mission today is to confirm what is happening at the Amusement Park and put an end to it. Your landing zone is a medium-size building it's about 30 stories in height. Some of you may encounter Aeriol machines along the way do not attack unless it shows signs of aggression. Now Id like each of you to confirm you've heard this or else ill say it again."

Jayla Rook "1S" - Scout
Location:
In the air, flying down to the City Ruins
Interactions: Favian Albert - 9O ( Pik Pik )
1610217362676.png
The flight down was silent, aside from the noise of her flight unit and the wind rushing past.

It was only a few minutes ago that Jayla, along with other units, were deployed to the surface to investigate a rise in Machine activity. So far, it all seemed routine. However, that changed when the Commander mentioned that everyone headed down was assigned to the same operator instead of their usual ones. It wasn't Jayla's place to question orders, but it piqued her curiosity as to why a single operator was in charge of multiple units.

As Jayla broke through the clouds, she looked down at the surface of the Earth. Green as far as the eye could see, with the ocean behind her. She remembered stories her father told her about the surface. If you ignored all the roaming Machines, the Earth felt serene according to him. It was a 'heaven in its own accord'. A female voice spoke up, breaking Jayla's train of thought.

"Incoming transmission from Operator 9O"

Jayla's Pod spoke up. Slotted at the top of the flight unit was Pod 1-5, her assigned companion. Every YoRHa unit had one, providing assistance in multiple areas.

A holographic screen appeared to the left of Jayla's vision and she could see Operator 9O, who was addressing everyone over one channel. She listened, but it was mostly him just repeating the brief the Commander provided. When 9O asked for confirmation, Jayla replied.

"This is 1S. Understood. Out."

She closed the communication line as she neared the landing location.

"Incoming Machine life-forms ahead."

Jayla looked ahead of her and sure enough, there were small groups of aerial Machines floating about, leisurely. Jayla slowed her speed, dropping to a cruise. As she flew by the Machines, she kept her guard up. Though, they didn't seem hostile. Jayla continued to cruise past them, refraining from engaging. After some time, her Pod spoke up again.

"Machine life-forms out of range. Approaching the landing zone."

The roof of the building got closer. Jayla's flight unit changed shape, transforming into its mech form for landing. The legs touched down and the engines cut out. The chamber that Jayla was in opened and she stepped out of her flight unit. Her Pod popped out of its slot and hovered near Jayla. Looking around, it seemed that Jayla was the first one to arrive.

She walked over to the edge of the building, looking at her surroundings. Every building was overrun with nature, tree roots and vines wrapping through and around small structures, the grass growing to tall heights. Her father was right. It was a nice sight.

Jayla looked back to her Pod.

"Reconnect me to Operator 9O."

The same holographic screen appeared.

"This is 1S. I've arrived at the landing zone. On standby."

8C
Hisame Sonoda / Combat Unit 8C | 24 Years Old
Location: Earth, City Ruins
Interacting: 9O ( Pik Pik )

____________________________________________________________________________

With closed eyes, almost as if completely disregarding the transmissions he was receiving, 8C slowly descended towards the landing zone. While he appeared to be inattentive, he was taking in every single word and order from both Commander Suzuki and Operator 9O, processing and coming up with a plan to get things done as quickly and efficiently as possible. His eyes quickly opened as 9O spoke, immediately spotting a small flock of machines floating about in the air, most likely scanning the area for hostiles. Without a second thought, he gripped the hilt of his main sword, and opened his mouth to order his pod to attack--

"...do not attack unless it shows signs of aggression."

…he released the hilt and relaxed once again. Fine by him. He took a moment to examine his surroundings thoroughly. There were multiple other flight units near him, all headed for the same landing zone. A sigh escaped as the distance between him and the building quickly grew shorter. Too many people. He would retrieve his pod and leave. Working alongside others was a safety hazard that he wasn't willing to accept. Besides, he wouldn't be reprimanded too heavily as long as the job still got done, right? Then his objective was simple: Get the job done. He quietly cleared his throat to respond to his operator. "Ryoukai. 8C arriving at the landing zone now." his flight unit landed promptly after he finished speaking, and he stepped out onto the rooftop, his pod dislodging and hovering beside him. He was one of the first to land, the only other person standing on the rooftop with him being a young woman with black-brown hair. He examined her for a moment, before his pod spoke up. "You are inspecting Unit 1S. A YoHRa scout--"

"I didn't ask who she was." he quickly cut the pod off, walking over to the edge of the building and aiming his left hand at it. Instantly, his palm whirred and a small opening revealed itself, and his grappling hook shot forward, latching itself to it. He would have to leave before anybody noticed if he wanted to work on his own, so he readied himself to jump off and descend to the ground level.

Annalise Cortez; YoRHa Unit 22C

After hearing the Commander's words, Annalise had made her way to the hangars to hop into a flight unit. She noticed a few other YoRHa members walking alongside her and assumed at least some of them would be her comrades for this mission. There wasn't much time for small talk and pleasantries on the way over though, and soon enough the woman strapped herself into the designated flight unit. Once she was properly situated, it contorted to take the shape of a plane while cradling her inside on her back. Once the doors were open and the YoRHa units were cleared for take off, it automatically launched into the air.

Although the aliens' technology had proven itself superior when the war began, humanity had made remarkable scientific advancements as well. A trip between the moon and the Earth used to be a three day journey, but YoRHa flight units cut the time down to mere minutes. It didn't take long for the vessel Annalise was in to reach the atmosphere as it zoomed towards the landing point.

During flight, another transmission came through on the Pod; it was 9O, the Operator the Commander had said would be working with the team, reminding everyone of the mission's objectives. It was quite unusual for Annalise to not be working with her usual Operator, as well as a single Operator working with a team of multiple field units, but it wasn't anything that hadn't been done before. Her parents had told stories about the handful of times it happened to them while they were on duty.

"This is 22C," she responded. "Understood. I'll be arriving at the touchdown point shortly and am on standby for further instructions."

Thankfully, on her way down, the woman didn't have to face any aggression from Machines. They simply minded their own business, flying around nonchalantly. It was also rather unusual. Her parents told her about how Machines would focus on nothing but killing humans and would immediately stop doing anything else if a human came into their sights. These days though, there was talk going around about most Machines simply just standing around and staring. This wasn't even the first time Annalise had seen it herself.

The flight unit slowed as it approached the landing point, returning to mech mode. Once it touched down on the building, it released the woman and she hopped out. "I've arrived at the touchdown point," she reported to 9O before looking around. Two other units had arrived before her it seemed, both unfamiliar. One was a brunette woman, who looked to simply be waiting for the arrival of the others, and the other was a black-haired man who... was jumping off the building? Annalise ran over to the edge to continue watching him. She wasn't worried he had somehow fallen or decided to end it all, but was more so curious as to where he was going and why.

"Er... 9O..." she asked, "are we supposed to be starting as soon as we arrive? Or should we be waiting for the whole group to rendezvous?"

Galea Forbid
Galea was training when she told of a mission she would be going on. No details were given until the commander briefed them on what would be happening. She quickly went to the flight pods and before getting in she saw who looked like 77S sleeping in a unit with a large green "77S" painted on the side of it. she remembered the commander mention him in the briefing but he never responded. I guess this was probably the reason. She didn't make any attempts to wake him if he missed the mission it wasn't her problem. she gets in her unit closing and sending her out toward the mission. with her see has a little book she likes to read while going to mission he reading was interrupted by 9O's relay which was a little annoying but she's use to this with some operators. "This is 9C. I understand." with that she goes back to her booking not getting very far since the trip takes no time till her unit starts to slow and reach the landing sight. There was no issue with any aerial machines.

Her unit starts to make a its landing on the start site and slow down once it was about to land it changed into mech form to ease with the landing. She hopes hops out and sees to other females looking over the edge. Walking up to them and having a stoic tone "You taking in the sights." Then she looks over the edge and there was a unit falling towards the ground. "I wonder if he's trying to die already." One of the females asks 9O why someone would leave this soon. Well whatever the reason lets just hope he doesn't mess up the mission. Galea wasn't much for team work but new if we were having a group this large it was probably a good idea to stick somewhat close to the others. Since not everyone was here yet she just sat on the edge of the building and took out her book. She hoped she could finish it before the mission would officially start and planned to look for a new book while on planet.

"Attention YoRHa units. This is your Commander speaking..." The voice echoes from a loudspeaker nestled high in a corner of the near-empty cafeteria, and Remy halts his untouched sandwich just short of a wide-mouthed bite.

His ears twitch--eyes falling distant, as if seeing something beyond the scene directly in front of him.

He sees the commander's face, familiar as it is.

"Large amounts of Machine activity have been picked up at the abandoned Amusement Park. We believe this may be the sight for a new factory for Machine production after our recent successful raid on the Old Factory nearby. Your mission today is to confirm what is happening at the Amusement Park and put an end to it."

Quickly, abandoning his meal, Remy gets to his feet and starts out of the cafeteria at a hastened pace.

"Instead of your usual Operators, you will all be aided by one single Operator for this mission: 9O."

Remy cocks a brow, continuing through the halls.

"You will take flight units to the touchdown point in the City Ruins. The specific location has been sent to your Pod. Best of luck, YoRHa units. Glory to mankind. Commander out."

"GLORY TO MANKIND!" he suddenly yells, hopping into the air with a tight fist as he does, earning the same gesture and cheer from surrounding others as well--some in unison, some not quite. This slogan is more than just a catchphrase. It's a vow. A promise.

The future.

He makes for the flight station, passing the standard security checks and unit processing, then gears up in the locker rooms before proceeding to his flight unit to execute a personal safety inspection before lift-off. As he's checking the lights, he notices another flight unit to his right, which piques a curiosity in him that carries him toward it to see that another soldier is sleeping away his duties.

"77?..." Remy climbs onto the unit, light on his feet, then he peers down at the snoozing man with blinking eyes.

Just then, he gets an idea, and a mischievous grin becomes his face.

Beating against the unit's window from the outside, he inhales deeply and starts into panicked yelling, "GET UP! GET UP! GET UP! THEY'RE ATTACKING! ALL UNITS DISPATCH! BACK-UP, BACK-UP! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE BECAUSE 77 CAN'T KEEP HIS EYES OPEN!"

    ~ Landing Point ~
PSYNCIN' IN THE SWaiN 2 (Ota's Somnium) || Eloise's CS File

She smirked as she ran down the hallway of the Lunar Colony. Her cybernetic tail whipped behind her as she made a quick sharp turn to get to the flight units. She was running alongside her pod, which she had just finished doing updates on her. It was before when she needed it but she liked to have her well up to date. Unfortunately that also meant that the comm connection message had to take a backseat for a few minutes as she tried to rush his OS download. She heard the unhelpful voice of her pod speak up as they reached the flight deck.

“Scout Unit 19S. You are approximately 30 meters behind the designated point.”

“I know Aiba! You aren’t helpingggg.”

She opened up the flight unit by scanning in. A quick unlocking sound was heard as the door lifted up to access the seat. She jumped in and layed down as the navigation system started up. Aiba was quick to follow in just before Eloise started up the preparations systems.

“Aiba attach to the flight systems’ weaponry.”

    “Activating flight system navigation mode”

“Perfect! Now quick Aiba scan for all mission opertitives.”

“Units 1S, 8C, 22C, 9C locked on. Units are 300 Mil Meters Ahead.”

With that they were in as the thrust started. She was instantly panicking. The others were that far ahead already? She would have to eat the distance. She wasn’t going to be the one holding them up, especially since she was the scout here. She’d been too lax since her last operation out, enjoying being back on the Lunar Colony too much.

    “Alright Aiba. Engage Maximum Speed.”

“Maximum speed is not recommended for-”

    “JUST DO IT”

“Limiters removed. Approaching Earth at a speed of 8575 Meters per second.”

She drastically underestimated what Mach-25 would feel like. She’d played around with Mach-20 before but this was a fair deal faster and it wasn’t like she was great at Mach-20 either. At Mach 25 she could make it there in ten minutes. She’d catch back up to their levels in nine.
Or at least that was the plan. It was smooth sailing up until the connection from Operator 9O.

    “Patch me into 9O”

She got the confirmation quickly as Aiba was already connected to the inner workings of the flight unit.

“9O. This is Unit 19S in route to the destin-”

She was doing her call in when she accidentally slammed the unit into one of the Aerial Machines. Woo boy was it mad.

“Dammit Aiba didn’t you connect to the Nav?”

“Nav systems are offline while piloting at top speeds.”

Either way it seemed she was quickly dropping from Mach-25. Luckily she’d made up the time needed to get close enough to the others. She shifted the Flight Unit into Mech mode with a quickness. Luckily she didn’t seem to have many on her tail, this unit wasn’t really combat savvy. She let loose a few energy bolts for cover before tearing into one of the aerial machines. The enemy was split in two as she dropped the two pieces to plummet back to the planet below.

“Oof- Sorry about that 9O. Like I was saying This is 19S en route to destination. Approaching the dropoff point in approximately two minutes.”

She touched down with less problems than what she left with. The click of the disengage was heard before she pounced out of the unit in a very catlike fashion. She did a quick activation of her Cybernetic Scout Support System. All systems working. Good. She did a quick designation change to the IP the pod had beamed the transmission to. Now she shouldn’t need to connect via Aiba to 9O.

“9O? Did it connect correctly? Tell me can you hear and see now? It should be hooked up to my memory and visual sensory data.”

Cyrox Bastion
The night before the mission Cyrox was working on his flight unit. He added a speaker to make the trips a bit more enjoyable. While he was working on it the commander comes up to him interested in how Cyrox was ruining YoRHa equipment this time. "Cy what else are you adding to the unit? anything else and we might as well make it you retirement home soon." Cyrox chuckled at the joke just finishing attaching the speaker. "Just you wait until the cooler gets put in." Cyrox was not a fan of YoRHa but the commander was good enough... sometimes. The commander looks at the awful 77S painted on the Unit and shakes his head. "Just be ready for tomorrow I don't want you missing another briefing." He turns to leave. Cyrox doesn't respond both men knowing he wasn't going tot he briefing. Most of the night was spent working on the unit Cyrox sleeping in the early morning missing the meeting like always.

After the meeting was over agents were already leaving the hanger and Cyrox was still asleep in his unit when one 1C decides its a good idea to surprise the seasoned war operative. With the yelling going Cyrox wakes with a start and punches at the noise but hits glass hurting his hand. He looks up and sees some kid looking at him."What the hell do you want Plucky im trying to get some sleep." He then notices a cat girl quickly get in a unit and speed off at probably Max. "The mission started... fuck!" He shoos the kid away "Get in your unit ill meet you down on Earth." With that he calls on his own unit "Dexter wake up its mission time" The lights in his pod start up a green tint to them. "Sir I've been trying to wake you all morning." Cyrox gets everything prepped and closes the lid. "I know Dex but I was tired you know how I get," Cyrox makes sure the kid was out of the way before starting the engine and heading toward Earth. He turns on his music and the speaker surprisingly worked even though he never tested it.

After about 10 minutes of his unit in space 9O recaps the briefing he missed Cyrox wasn't surprised since they always do this. "9, my old ears might not be working i think you should repeat what you said for me." Cyrox laughed but shut off his comm device until he had landed, not wanting to hear more. Once touched down he heads out with his pod Dexter there he sees two very scary ladies and the cat girl. He fits on his helmet and looks out to the world using his cyber eye to see far out for anything serious. Nothing thankfully. "That kid better not make us too late." Cyrox says not thinking how ironic he sounded since he was sleeping right before leaving.

Abelgard Müller:
Unit-73C

A couple of hours into the past before the word for announcement of debriefing was announced, Abel was making the final adjustments to his main weapon... a weapon that many others have told him that it wasn’t needed at all considering that all it took was bringing melee weapons to help win in combat, and few others have joked around calling him a ‘living Pod’, but he usually brushed them off. Considering the importance of the promise he made early within his life, of when he heard stories from his parents about his Ancestors who fought in wars all but lost to time... of how they fought bravely and their deeds. Of how they used projectile weapons that are rare in today standards, but still, this rifle has served him honorably throughout his years, and even with all the times it jammed or even broke down in combat, he will likely pass up any weapon just to get his hands back on his own weapon. ‘Ancestor’s blessing’, the name of his good ole rifle, and as of the moment, he just finished replacing the parts needed to fix up the underbarrel shotgun feature of his automatic rifle. Raising the rifle into the light, inspecting its functions and making sure the underbarrel is fixed by loading a dud shell into it before ejecting it out... now satisfied with his handiwork.

But a few seconds later over the intercoms, words of a mission debriefing, about some location within an abandoned Amusement Park that has rumors of an Factory popping up in that location. Well, if this was like the others, it would most likely be the same, other than the fact that a singular operator would be provided to them this time, code name 9O, and that did stop the man in his tracks. Never has he ever been assigned another operator than his usual one, and even then, he was not sure if a single person can handle multiple units at once... but eh, he was sure that they were capable of handling their own. Reaching the hangar where the many flight units are stored... he seems to be the latest one to arrive, as most of it seemed empty of some flight units. Shit, was he running this late to the mission? Never mind that, he needed to go now, as he approached his own flight unit, sounds of his Pod unit talking to him reaching his ears... as he remembered he left his pod within the Flight unit... as it he approached the unit:

“Unit-73C, you are rather late to the hangar, most of the other units have already exited an-“

“Yeah yeah, I get it.... don’t need you blasting it into my ear considering I know it already. Didn’t know they needed an extra guy with em, now can we hurry up already, we are gonna be even later if we continue talking.”

“Affirmative, sending location for drop-off point directly to the Flight Unit.”

As Abel entered the machine, and then set off and exited the Hangar, heading straight for Earth and the location he needed to land at. Of course, he had gained word of his Operative communicating to all of the units participating in the mission, and both reminded him of the mission as well as not to attack any enemy units unless it strikes first, to which he responded with:

“Affirmative... this is unit 73C reading ya loud and clear.”

As he hoped it was enough to not get an earful of being rather late to the mission... but to be honest, he didn’t expect to be assigned to the mission a bit later when finishing up his rifle repairs. A couple of minutes later and some rather peaceful last minutes before entering hostile territory once again... he finally broke through the clouds and now was flying above the city ruins, closing up onto the landing location.

“One more minute before arrival to drop-off zone.”

“Got it Lenny, just make sure to keep an close eye on the area around us once we make contact with the floor, don’t want something sneaking up behind me and turning me into mincemeat.”

“Highly unlikely, it would require high amounts of physical force to not only turn you into multiple pieces, also-“

“And I just remembered why I don’t say metaphors around ya... just tell me if we got the right place or not.”

“This is the exact coordinates given to use by command... so prepare for landing.”

His Pod, also given the name ‘Lenny’ for short, had announced to Abel, as the Flight unit then reached the rooftop where he could already see signs of people who already left the bunker and waiting for others to arrive. Welp, might as well go down and say a small ‘hello’, as his flight unit then slowed down, before finally touching down on the rooftop. Exiting the unit and along with his Pod disengaging, Abel began inspecting the nearby ally units that he would be working with... which seems to be a rather wide variety which were mostly a large group of scary looking female, some girl with cat like cybernetic enhancements, as well as a armored figure who he respects in his head for bringing a ranged weapon... which was still a bow, but not like he expected many others to even have a ranged option. Putting on his white mask, his entire face was now hidden as he raised the hood so that it now covered his entire head, as he approached the others and said:

“Unit 73C has arrived... any missing units so far?”

The man had questioned as he then took his rifle off of his back, ‘Ancestor’s Blessing’ in all of its glory as he held it within both arms, as he hoped he wasn’t the last one needed for the mission to commence.... because it probably wouldn’t sit well with him if that was the case. So, he then awaited to hear those words of explanation soon... because the suspense was killing him.... even though it isn’t supposed to be that important, but being late to a mission is something Abelgard doesn’t already like, but being the last one to arrive, that would hit even harder.

Channary Viscousser~ Combat Unit 26~ City Ruins

Channary was training when she got the notice for the mission. Sweat beaded down her body as she completely ignored her pod's initial attempts at getting her attention. Her pupils were narrowed like pinpoints staring straight at the metal doll in front of her. She struck once, twice, three times with her tonfas. Backfist. Elbow. Punch. Hook. This repetition of strikes went on and on in her mind until her pod floated right into her line of vision. "Ack!" she grunted, accidentally swiping at her pod full force. Her pupils dilated back to normal as she was brought out of her zone. "Pod, are you okay?"

"C26's pod is still fully operational. Pod went along with the momentum of the strike to minimize damage."

"Floating like a butterfly, aye?" There was a silence between them as the pod seemed to process Channary's words.

"Yes, C26. Float like a butterfly." The green haired woman pouted at her pod's response. The floating machine wasn't a lot of fun, but, at least, it tried to go along with her joke. Tying her sweaty hair back, she waved at her pod to relay the message it seemed to risk its life for to deliver.

"Combat unit 26 along with four other combat units and three scouts are required to take flight units down to Earth. Said units are then required to rendezvous in the City Ruins, location is programmed into your designated flight unit, and make their way to investigate the Amusement Park. There has been rather active moving of machine lifeforms at that location."

"A mission? For me? Finally! I was getting bored beating up this dummy all the time. Let's go, pod!" The girl was practically bouncing out of her well shined black boots as she made her way towards the designated flight room. Her pod floated silently behind.

It didn't take long after for her to be in her flight unit and off towards the machine infested surface. It was soon after that she received transmission from her operator, or should she say the group's operator. It was slightly unorthodox but nothing that hasn't been done before. "You got it, Operator 9O," she confirmed before closing communications. Honestly, she was considering just staying silent to have the operator repeat his message over and over again, but she'd probably be reprimanded for causing trouble. Although, it'd be really funny.

Shaking her head of all those mischievous thoughts, her mind wandered back to her little training session before receiving information of her mission. She was obviously too focused on her enemy. In a real fight with multiple machine lifeforms or one larger than her eyes could fully see, it was dangerous to be so tunnel visioned. Her performance would have to improve if she wanted to live throughout her career. She had to better take a survey of the field even when things get hectic in front of her.

"At least, I'll be able to see my lil bro. Or, I hope so," she murmured, watching the scenery, once described in bedtime stories to her, flash by her flight unit. Her brother decided to be a harvester instead of a combat unit; so while she was up in the space colony training, he was down on Earth helping out one of the colonies. They didn't get to hang around like when they were children, but they kept well enough in contact through calls and emails. Hopefully, she'd be able to send in a request to visit one of the colonies for some personal time. It would be even better though if their mission took them to the colony her brother was based at. For now, her wishes was sated by the beautiful ruins and trees.

Finally, she landed on top of the rendezvous point and noticed that she wasn't the first one to arrive. Her tardiness was probably because she was too focused on training to react right after the message was received. "What a bunch of nerds," she thought, shaking her head at them as she stepped out of the flight unit. "They're probably spending each minute of their lives waiting for their beloved commander to order them around." The irony was lost on her that she was awaiting the same beloved commander to give her orders to escape her boredom. Channary's logic was also rather unfit considering she was a part of the military and timeliness was paramount to a mission's success. "I mean. I'm not late. I'm just not as early as these nerds," she added on to her thoughts, coming to the exact realization previously stated. Walking towards the edge of the building, she nodded and waved at her teammates for the mission, wondering if there was a certain signal they should wait for before introducing themselves or starting the mission.

She could always get her pod to relay her information about her teammates. Introductions weren't exactly necessary, but they were fun especially when they're in the form of a game. "Like, my name is Channary kinda like Canary but with more n's and an h. It starts with a C, so I like Cherries," she thought to herself, or at least she thought that she thought to herself, but she was actually whispering it to the black-haired scout right next to her on the edge of the roof.

@ everyone on the roof and the operator also mentioning her bro which is Brii's character

Favian takes a sip out of his coffee it seems 8C was striking out alone three minutes earlier than expected. Tapping a setting on his ear peace to put him in direct communication with 8C he sighs and says. "8C I understand you are what is called a lone wolf but today's mission is meant to be a collaborative one so please return and work with the group." He clicks back with public communication to speak with everyone else "22C he is not to go alone and if he does so again do please tell me, 19S all systems are working perfectly." On one of his screens, a separate window pops up labeled Cybernetic Scout Support System showing him everything that 19S sees and hears. "It seems like everyone but 1C here no matter we can start regardless." Opening up a map on a screen he clicks on the location data of the amusement park and sends them to everyone's pods. "I'd like for our scouts to go on ahead and gather as much data as possible around the mission location as well as any obstacles along the way we might have trouble getting around, as for our combat units wait at least a few minutes for 1C to arrive then go-ahead to the objective, but do not engage until our scouts get back with exact numbers. If you have any questions or in 77S case need me to repeat anything please say so now otherwise you have your orders." He clicks to communicate with 1C "1C you have three minutes to arrive at our destination or else you will be left behind that is all." Favian then takes another sip of coffee this is going to be a long day.

One by one, the others began to arrive. Jayla could hear the sound of their flight units drawing closer and landing. Her eyes glanced to the side to get a better look of who was here.

First, there a male, who seemed rather impatient. Jayla listened as he disembarked from his flight unit. For a moment, she heard his pod speak up.

"You are inspecting Unit 1S. A YoRHA scout-"
"I didnt ask who she was."

She watched as he came up to the edge of the building like she was, firing out a hook of sorts into the building. He started lowering himself down from the roof and down to the ground. Jayla said nothing, but she didn't have to as more units arrived.

Next was a female, who was quick to approach the edge of the building and observe the male from before still climbing down. Jayla listened as she contacted the operator, asking if it was ok to go on ahead.

Eventually, the rest arrived in a wave. Two more females landed, one looking mature and stoic and the other looking more childish than anyone else, complete with a tail and some sort of ears. However, Jayla made no comment. She wasn't one to judge what cybernetics people chose to have. Up next was an older male, older than everyone else in the group thus far. However, he caught Jayla's interest since unlike tradition, he had a ranged weapon, a bow. Jayla vaguely recognized him. She probably ran into him in a hallway but nothing further.

Following him was another male, cloaked in red armor. He also had a ranged weapon, but it was in the fashion of a gun. Jayla took note of the sword he also had with him. Finally, the last one to arrive was another female, who approached the group with a wave. For a moment, Jayla could hear her whispering under her breath.

"Like...name...kinda like Ca....with more n's...It starts with...Cherries"

Jayla said nothing in reply, continuing to wait for 9O to issue instructions. Right on cue, his voice came over the comm channel. She listened as 9O clarified to who was 22C that the male wasn't venturing off by himself, then address who was 19S that their system was running perfectly. She didn't react to the fact that there was a combat unit still missing, but couldn't help but wonder what was taking them so long to get here.

Jayla couldn't ponder on it much as 9O moved on, issuing further instructions. At the same time, Jayla's pod hovered in front of her, displaying a hologram of the map of the area. His strategy seemed routine, sending the scout units head before the combat units and then reporting back any intel gained. This was nothing new for Jayla. Before now, she had been on countless operations similar, scouting various locations to gather info and then send it back to her operator. The only difference here was that she wasn't alone this time.

Once 9O was finished, Jayla waved her hand to the side, her pod closing the hologram and returning to its position behind her. She then replied with a quick acknowledgement.

"Understood."

Not waiting for the other scouts, Jayla made her move. She jumped off the edge of the building, beginning to free-fall to the surface. Her hand reached up into the air like she was trying to grab something and on cue, her pod moved and positioned itself where Jayla's hand was, its arms linking to form a handle. Jayla grabbed on and immediately her descent was slowed until her feet touched the ground. Jayla released her pod, then began to walk in the general direction of where the amusement park was.

Though it may not look like it, she moved at a slower pace to give the other scouts time to get situated and catch up.

~ Approaching the Misson Point ~
Malanya Spring || Eloise's CS File

Someone was later than she was? Now that was a surprise. Then again she assumed most didn’t push the limits of their flight unit for fun. She grinned though at the confirmations that all the systems were a go. Maybe she could even get the feed backed up to memory files? It’d be great to show her parents how nice Earth was, it was wild and true and beautiful. Her last mission down she didn’t have much to tell them what with her doing recon for a Machine base. This time though they got to see an old amusement park! One that had survived the ages!

She discreetly looked at her pod, Aiba was her best source of information. None of her missions had ever had her working with this group before. Though a few were around her age and she remembered their faces from the academy it wasn’t like they were friends or such. Their names and designations were lost to time. Aiba however was able to pull the information up and soon was going through the public file.

She quickly identified 8C. Luckily she wasn’t the one tasked with keeping him in line. Made one wonder why he didn’t just become a scout if he wanted to go running off alone. Luckily she herself despite being a scout, was far more personable. Channary was the only one that seemed actually capable of introducing themselves even if she thought the woman may not have meant to. Even though now that the line was cast she would jump at the bait.

“Well nice to meetcha miss Channary! My name is- ah wait where are you- My name’s Eloise! 19S! Now I gotta go follow what I assume to be my fellow scout. Let’s get ‘em!”

With that she did a wave to the others before leaping backwards off the building in a backflip. Aiba was directly behind her at every step but even so instead of being safely bellowed down she withdrew her two hook-like daggers. She used them to control her fall as she hooked on to ledge after ledge until she got low enough to jump.

She hadn’t reacted instantly but she still wasn’t going to lose sight of her target. Her pride as a scout was on the line! She took to a jog until she got up to 1S again. She did a snap of her fingers as Aiba went into semi-cloaking mode. A scout was only as good as their ability to stay hidden after all.

“You’re a fast one, so another scout huh?”

Cyrox Bastion
The group as a whole didn't seem much of the talkative type which was fine Cyrox was more for talking to his pod than other people around him. The cat girl was pretty chipper and the newest Combat to arrive was... odd. What ever the case was Cyrox seemed to fit in with the other misfits of this group so that was comforting or concerning, that all depends on how the mission goes. Cyrox skins the surroundings of the landing zone for anything interesting then he hears over his comm unit. 9O telling them the plan which like always was very typical and boring but that's just missions with YoRHa he guessed. Nothing changes and everything is boring. "Well I guess you goys don't want the geezer hanging around since... know know... my job and all." With the awkward sentence Cyrox sees an aerial unit flying by he grabs a clip by his waist that's attached to a rope and he runs off the building and he lands on the machine. Almost slipping off he clips on to it and grabs a few tools.

"Dex hack this thing for me so I have enough time to disable it." Without a word Dexter his pod starts hacking the machine keeping it disrupted while Cyrox takes apart a panel in the machine. He he shifts through some wiring and messes with a few computer parts and cuts some wires. The machine begins to lose altitude slowly. Dex loses it a little and the machine begins to fight still losing altitude though. "Sorry bud, thanks for the ride though." The machine was close enough to the ground Cyrox takes a spare EMP tip that wasn't attached to an arrow yet turns it on and jams it in the machine. he unclips himself and jumps off. landing with a thud but less so since it wasn't as far. Cyrox gets up with a groan and sees the other Scouts just leave his sight. "Dex cloak me its time for a bit of fun finally." With that Dex attaches to his suit and the two off them seem to blend in with the rest of the surrounding area.

Remy chuckles carelessly, sliding down off the flight unit before proceeding to his own. Old man... If ya can't keep ya eyes open, keep'em shut...

[. . .]

Altimeter, check. Powerplant, check. Propeller and engine controls, check. Fuselage interior, check.

"Alright, what else?" Remy stands with a wide stance, hands on his hips, looking over the flight unit with a penetrating gaze. Everything check. He snaps his fingers, satisfied.

Then he says to his pod, Symbol, which is hugging tight to his backpack, "Open 'er back up, it's time t' go," to which Symbol responds in a nasally, robotic voice, "Processing request... Processing succesful," and the flight unit's hatch hisses as it opens, allowing Remy entry.

He lies down--Symbol nestles itself someplace secure--flips some switches, presses some buttons, then initiates launch.

That's when he finally turns on his earpiece and 9O's voice speaks through mid-communication. "...tems are working perfectly. It seems like everyone but 1C is here. No matter, we can start regardless."

Remy snickers. Already making a name for yaself amongst this bunch, huh, are ya Remy?

"1C, you have three minutes to arrive at our destination or else you will be left behind that is all."

"I'm hearin' ya. Done on my way... I'll be there soon..." He pauses... Then he chimes back in, "Aye 9O, wanna hear a joke?"

Cutting off connection, he says to Symbol, "Symbol, start recording..."

Remy bluetooth's his earpiece to the flight unit's loudspeaker then and awaits 9O's response.

To his dismay, his attempted escape had attracted quite a bit of unwarranted attention. There was no way he was getting away from them now. Just as he pressed his face against his free palm, his communications system started up again. "8C I understand you are what is called a lone wolf but today's mission is meant to be a collaborative one so please return and work with the group." with a sigh, he slowly pulled himself back up to the edge of the building, using his grappling hook. "...Understood." he climbed back onto the edge, remaining there and refusing to move in case the opportunity to leave presented itself again. "22C he is not to go alone and if he does so again do please tell me." with that, 8C looked straight ahead in defeat. While they waited, he decided there was no better time than to enjoy the view of the human race's original home. It was... certainly interesting, but it wasn't as breathtaking to him as it was to others. He saw the planet simply as a job site-- one that he roamed in order to survive.

While he looked at the overgrown concrete jungle, his patience for ignoring the rambling of the dark-haired girl next to him was starting to run thin. His nature-viewing gaze narrowed into an annoyed glare, and he turned his head to look at her as she whispered near him. Right on cue, his pod began to speak again. "You are inspecting--" he raised his hand, and the pod immediately stopped, as if he had ordered it to shut it's mouth whenever he performed that specific gesture. He wasn't the type to silence somebody just for introducing themselves, so he did the right thing for himself and sidestepped a few inches to the right, retracting his grappling hook back into his palm as he did so. Then, he ever-so-slightly softened his glare, and simply stated his call sign, loud enough for every unit to hear so that he would not have to repeat himself later. "...8C."

annalise_cortez.png

Annalise Cortez, 22C

It seemed that 22C had unintentionally become a snitch. As she watched the black-haired man return to the edge of the building and heard the defeated tone in his response to their operator, she couldn't help but feel bad. It was like she had disrespected a superior. She had assumed he had been on the force longer than she had. Due to her late start, that turned out to be the case with most people who looked to be about her age. And to make things worse, 9O had given her the task of keeping watch over him.

"U-understood..." Annalise responded somewhat hesitantly.

The other arrivals seemed to be just as eccentric as this man. There was a woman who chose to sit and read so close to the beginning of a mission, a woman who was essentially a cat girl with her cybernetics who had a rough landing and was reconfiguring her connection with their operator, a man older than many of the units she had worked with so far, a man with a mask, and a woman who was comparing her name to cherries. The only one who fit the mold of what Annalise expected from a YoRHa soldier was the brown-haired woman who had arrived slightly before her.

The weaponry the two aforementioned men had were quite unorthodox as well. One had a gun which looked like it came straight from the pre-war era, and the other had a bow, which seemed to come from even further in the past. In the academy, the woman had learned weapons such as those were considered obsolete due to their need for physical ammunition, but she assumed the other two were proficient enough with them for command to not revoke the weapons.

The masked man had asked if any units were missing. Although Annalise had no answer for him, 9O's next message would, as expected from an operator. The man gave the order for the scouts to go ahead, and the eccentricities only seemed to continue. The stoic brunette descended with the help of her pod as they were trained to do in their academy, while the cat girl used her blades to slow her fall. The older man's method was the least orthodox, as he latched onto an aerial machine and used it as a ride to the ground. Annalise winced as it exploded on impact but was happy to see that the man was okay.

Annalise heard the introduction of the combat unit who had tried to go off ahead, and she had remembered at least one more name given in response to "Chanary, kind of like Canary." Her focus was instead on the machines which had been alerted by the explosion of one of their own, and her eyes shifted back and forth between as a few approached the group of scouts from all sides.

"Uh... my name is Annalise," she said quickly. YoRHa units were not meant to exchange names on the field as a precaution for if the machines are ever able to hack YoRHa databases. Vital information could be found with just a name. Since two others had done so anyway though, she felt maybe it wasn't such a big deal. "22C," she stated her callsign, although assumed most already knew based on 9O's message. "9O, hostile machines are approaching the scouts. Should we assist?" She also turned to the other combat units still on the building with her for their input.

GM Post

The attempted hijack of the aerial machine by Cyrox lead it to nose dive to the ground. Even though the scout was able to jump off beforehand, the machine exploded on impact. The docile machines which were simply standing around staring or hopping from one place to another turned to the explosion site. When they took note of the humans in the vicinity, their logic units made the connection, and their yellow eyes turned red as they approached. Thankfully, they all only the smallest and weakest kind, referred to informally as Small Stubbies. The closest one confronted Cyrox, and when face to face with the man, it rotated both its arms forward one by one rapidly in an attempt to swipe at him, making it seem as if it had fans or wheels on either side of its body.

Abelgard Müller:
Unit-73C

Looks like not much has happened before his arrival, the hidden eyes underneath his mask looking around the rooftop that the combat and scout units are currently located on top of... taking note of other’s weapons as well as their general appearances.... to which he noted not much have any form of armor whatsoever on their body. But that’s probably what they have been taught anyway.... maximum agility and speed to go slice and dodge anything that comes their way before their foe can even count to the number two... but for Abel, he at least appreciates a mixture between speed and armor so that he neither becomes literally a walking truck with legs or a glass statue waiting to be smashed as soon as he slows down. Well, not much to do anyways... as Abel just went ahead to perform a equipment check... making sure he had everything, considering he was a bit in a rush to get here and may have forgotten something in the process. After all, even if he was missing a singular magazine or shell, he would already be at an disadvantage.

So while Lenny continued hovering at his side, and another ally arrives to the drop point, Abelgard went ahead and pressed a button the side of the rifle, as the magazine then fell downwards, his left hand going down to grab the magazine, as he brought it up for inspecting, being met with the familiar sight of his custom made bullets lying within. Good, looks like he has some bullets already, as he then put the magazines back into the Magazine well of the gun, now to check the front pockets, as, he then puts the rifle’s strap over his shoulder and now inspecting his pockets, occasionally keeping an ear out to hear 9O say some things he generally didn’t care much about.

So, a minute of checking.... and it seems that everything was in order, other than missing two live shotgun shells, he still had five magazines for his rifle, one of which is already inside the gun, and two ‘last resort’ shotgun shells for the underbarrel shotgun. But his attention was brought forth after one of his allies, who called herself ‘Annalise’, introduce herself as unit 22C, well, not sure why to say more than just code names.... considering that while there are still chances of them meeting in the future once again, maybe even work together, and the risk of sharing their name... Still, sharing a small nickname of his would decrease the chances of it, so he just gave a glance towards the woman in question, before giving off an salute and saying:

“....Abel is what others call my nickname, not my full name but it was what you can call me for now. And as stated earlier, Unit name 73C...”

The masked soldier had finished, while the Scout units had already began to leave... until an explosion down below had caught his attention, which means that something is definitely not going good with the Scout, and either they attracted attention down below by something big or were the ones who caused the explosion, to which Beas ‘definitely’ a good way to start out a mission only a few minutes after it commenced... sarcasm hitting hard at the definitely part in question. Only making a sigh, as his Pod then spoke out loud enough for him to hear:

“Warning, multiple hostile detected nearby the building on the ground below, Scout units in possible risk of sustaining damage.”

“Tell me something I don’t know Lenny.... blah, let me take a look, because they are definitely gonna be needing backup in a bit.”

Abelgard said as he went to the edge of the building, a few feet away from the same he recalled earlier, as he peered down at the floor below, and already, he could see a whole lot of Machines down there. Well, it doesn’t seem like they are much threat since they are rather small in size and weak in design. Saying out loud for the rest of the team behind him, he said:

“From over here, seems like a small horde of little buggers. Small Stubbies based on their design and size when compared from here... not sure if anything else is down there but the Scouts might be able to handle it themselves. Still, gonna provide some aid from up here.... and while you guys continue to think whether or not to go down there and start slicing up some tin heads, I’m gonna start my work now.”

“Lenny, prepare to fire at my word, make sure to use an accurate weapon.”

“Affirmative 73C, awaiting your next command.”

As Abelgard then got out his rifle from his back, now holding the rifle with both hands as he moved his hand to the safety catch of his rifle, pushing it up once to go into burst mode, considering that Abel wants to save bullets to use for later, as well as have more accuracy due to the distance from the ground and rooftop. Now, it was time to give out his help to the Scout team below, as he then put his eye near the Rear sight of the gun, aiming the weapon below and finding a particular target to shoot at.... before finding one of those tin cans rotating its arms in a attempt to hit the man with the bow. Only making a smirk underneath his mask, he then began lining up his shot, making sure to actually land it instead of missing by a few centimeters, breathing in and out slowly, before holding his breath, as he then pulled the trigger.

And out from the rifle, came three bullets in rapid succession, soaring through the air in supersonic speed, quickly closing in the distance between the gun and the intended Small Stubby, and before it knew it, three bullets pierced into its chest, which would definitely knock it back and stop it within its tracks due to the outside force affecting its attempting attack, and back on the rooftop, as the electronic counter for his rifle counted down by three:

47/50

As Abelgard finally said:

“First shots of the mission, didn’t know I had to fire my gun so quickly after arriving a few minutes ago. Heh, guess this says something about all of us, even me.”

Before Abelgard began inspecting the ground again and prepared to begin shooting again, his Pod Lenny still awaiting orders to fire.

"Aye 9O, wanna hear a joke?" Favian looked up in confusion while 1C communication was cut off. What is that boy planning cant he see they are in the middle of a mission here let alone one he is now late for. As soon as he was able he replies back "No I do not wish to hear joke now focus on getting to your objective." And then reconnects to the others just in time to hear about an incoming attack on the scouts now how did that happen they should have been perfectly hidden to prevent such a thing. Then he hears the explosion in 19S ears and it all made sense now. "All combat units you are free to engage on hostile units, scouts continue on ahead as planned your in good hands." He takes another sip of coffee. "Also to the scouts can you please report on how your cover was blown dose it have something to do with the explosion?"

It wasnt long until the other scout units were catching up to Jayla. First was the cat-girl looking female, who had introduced herself as 19S. Jayla's eyes glanced to the side as 19S came up beside her, watching as she snapped her fingers and her pod cloaked itself.

Jayla's Pod did nothing fancy, aside from its usual functions. Whenever Jayla needed to be quiet and remain undetected, her pod would either stay behind and only move when Jayla told it to, or hover higher up in the air if there was enough space. Most of the time however, both weren't necessary since machines had horrible detection skills, only being alerted to large noises or disturbances.

"You're a fast one, so another scout huh?"

Jayla continued to look at 19S for a moment, before looking back ahead.

"Yes."

It was only a few more steps before Jayla heard an explosion behind them. In an instant, she quickly turned, taking up a ready stance as she reached for her swords, drawing and holding them out to the side. She was greeted with the sight of the older man, who she assumed was 77S, riding an aerial unit down to the surface, then jumping off once he was low enough. However, the aerial unit kept going and exploded as it hit the ground. Suddenly, the nearby machines became agitated, moving to attack her and the other scouts.

Out of the corner of her eye, Jayla saw a flash of light and moments later, the sound of metal hitting metal as the combat unit with the gun fired down at the incoming machines. The target went down and powered off, disabled. Then, she heard 9O's voice again through the comms.

"...scouts continue on ahead as planned..."

She turned back to face the original direction she was headed, finding a couple machines standing in the way. Jayla didn't hesitate, running forward and engaging the two machines. She brought up the black-bladed sword in her left hand and blocked the first machine's attacks, quickly following with a counter attack and slashed through it with the silver-bladed sword in her right hand. Jayla then quickly turned, swinging her left hand in a wide slash, cutting through the second machine. Both fell to the ground, destroyed.

The way ahead was now cleared. Jayla looked towards 19S and 77S, gesturing to quickly follow before turning and running ahead. At the same time, she replied to 9O's inquiry.

"The explosion alerted the nearby machines of our presence. Once we leave the area they will forget about us and target the combat units."

She wasn’t sure just what happened. She was glad she off’d the aerial machine she fought earlier before it could get backup. Otherwise the playing around with the aerial machines would have been a bigger problem than just the few gathered up attacking. She was lucky enough to already have her daggers drawn from her descent.

She wasn’t a combat unit but she was more than capable of dealing with some minor shits. Even if it would waste her a good deal of time. She was unfortunately told to keep going though. Oh well it's not like she cared for combat anyways. She got a couple slices into the ones that came for her before her fellow scout cleared the way making mincemeat of the stubby.

She let out a sigh as 1S informed 9O about the explosion. Yeah that would do it. She wondered why two minutes in they were already fucking up. More people were suppose to make the job easier, not harder. Even so she sucked up her annoyance as she answered 9O not bothering with the comms when he could just hear through her senses.

“Yeah we’re good 1S cleared our path we’re on it! The combat units can clean up the rest, me and 1S are gonna map out the way ahead okay?”

Before waiting for the signal she started into a sprint aiming to get clear of the battle so that she could find a stealthier route to the amusement park than the literal explosion site. She was lucky that there were trees on the path there. Cover was a scout’s best friend. She wasn’t equipped with any cloaking cybers since they usually didn’t mess well with her own health support ones.

“Well 9O, 1S how do we wanna tackle this?”

    Teams meant planning, unfortunately.

Channary Viscousser~ Comabt Unit 26~ City Ruins

Channary was brought back from her thoughts when the people around her began introducing themselves. Somehow, they already knew her name as if they had been reading her thoughts. It was quite spooky if she had anything to say about it, but she didn't let it get to her. They probably just scanned her for information with their pods, but would they be able to get her civilian name through the database? The mystery became even mistier. Perhaps, they knew each other from the academy? No, that couldn't be it. She's never seen these people in her life. Or, maybe she has seen them before but only in passing. Either way, how could they have known her name?

Cupping her chin into her hand, she slightly tilted her head to the side while idly absorbing her teammates' names. She wasn't in any rush since the scouts needed to gather more information about their environment before the rest of the combat units could act, so she decided to ponder on this puzzle. Of course, this was all until she heard a crash just below the building front where they were all located. "Scouts are supposed to be stealthy, right?" she murmured to herself, overhearing Annalise's comment to their operator and the operator's swift response. They were ordered to initiate combat with hostile units at their will.

Usually, Channary would have jumped right into the fray, but her training session earlier that day kicked her in the head. She hesitated for a brief moment to survey the field. The gunshots from above would attract attention to the rooftop soon enough, and she'd lose the element of surprise. There were a handful of small machines, but they didn't outnumber the amount of combat units the team had. If she could get the jump on one of them, the rest would go down rather easily. Leaping from the building, she reached out for her pod to extend her fall time to land somewhere behind the hostile machines. She hoped they wouldn't notice her as she dashed in to slam one on the head with her weapon.

Annalise Cortez, 22C && GM Post

The woman blinked as she saw the masked unit fire before receiving permission from their operator. The three bullets swiftly closed the space between him and the hostile machine, pushing it away from the older man it was trying to attack and causing it to also explode. She saw it as reckless, but she wasn't going to chastise someone who was her Senior. His experience had probably taught him when it was acceptable to deviate from the rules, she assumed.

Despite the operator not being able to see, Annalise gave a nod out of habit. "Right. Engaging," she responded. 22C followed Channary, jumping off the edge of the building and taking a hold of her pod as it slowed her fall. She couldn't help but remember how much anxiety each jump brought her when she had just started out. The woman was still not as experienced as most of her comrades her age, but her skills had certainly grown since her first mission.

After touching down, Annalise rushed towards the group of scouts and the machines surrounding them. The brown-haired scout managed to slay two more machines as she created a path for her companions and continued forth. Along with the one Abel defeated, only three machines remained. Annalise engaged one of the Small Stubbies, drawing her blade quickly as she rushed past it. The force was able to knock it back, as well as leave a long gash across its metal body, but it was still active. It hopped forth, now targeting Annalise and the other combat units.

8C's head flicked towards the sound of the explosion, eyes locking onto the site of the crash and gripping the hilt of his short sword once the machines began to show signs of aggression. On his operator's instruction, he (once again) lowered himself to ground level using his grappling hook, landing flawlessly in a crouching position. The others had made their way down before him, and he watched for a moment as they all engaged in combat with the machines. It would be the perfect time for him to sneak away again, and he genuinely considered it-- even taking a step to the left for a moment-- before stopping in his tracks. He had been given orders not to leave, so it was very likely that even if 22C didn't catch him leaving, his pod would definitely begin running it's figurative mouth about how he needed to stick with the group.

With an irritated sigh, he watched as the others fought the machines, which weren't the most menacing in terms of size, but were still as durable as any other machine. His hand remained in a resting position on his blade's handle, with his organic eye closed as he patiently waited for an opening to present itself. His eyes were focused particularly on 22C, who was approaching the machine and preparing to draw her blade. The second she made contact with it, a loud clashing sound rang throughout his ears, and he noticed that a large cut was sprawled across the torso of it. His eye opened, and without hesitation, he rushed forward towards the machine, drawing his long sword and severing the machine in one clean swipe. Once finished, he sheathed the sword and turned around to assess the damage and make sure that it was truly immobilized. It was a flawless bisection, and he had made great use of the damage his fellow combat unit had already dealt. His head tilted upwards, blue eyes looking directly into hers, and he nodded at her.

It didn't make him a hero, he didn't feel like he had done anything special. He just did his job. Without waiting for any type of response from her, he took a few steps backwards to get a clearer look at the battlefield, with his pod quietly following behind him. He had done his part, and now it was time to sit back and see what the others were made of.
