'Meathead? If only he knew..' Boss chuckled smugly to Samus, who still strode ahead. Alva and Oliver were still trailing behind, and Torgo's prompt analysis already served to point out the obvious. In the span of what could have only been 20 minutes, they'd engaged a giant suit, had a pod slam down into it and detonate a reactor, and probably contaminated an entire district. MA5B now drawn into her hands, she glanced around the area they were in. The last thing she needed was for her group to end up surfacing in some sort of C-SEC detention center, or having to fight their way out and eliminate half the security forces along their path. Samus sighed, and shook her head along the way. This was beginning to finally become ridiculous.

"Regrettably.." the Sangheili muttered. when the vehicle pulled up to reveal what could only have been a subserveant type based on the attire alone, he internally scoffed. His mandables twitched when she commanded them to embark into the vehicle; a dishonorable act worthy, if only the guards wern't around, to slaughter them all where they stood. The Sangheili, being eight feet in height and dressed in a bulky suit of powered ceremonial armor, growled. "...As you wish. Take caution as is that I may not be able to fit in the vehicle." He spoke primarily to the woman, proceeding to head over to the car and, spotting a strange handle on the exterior rear side, grapped it with his three-digited hand and pulled it open with a low growl and careful not to rip the blasted thing off. These humans placed doors onto their vehicles. How logistically ineffective and primitive of them for doing so. Hunching down to peer into the interior compartment, he growled further. There was a marginal chance he'd fit at best, he figured, and clambered into the vehicle with an awkward headfirst dive. To the humans, it simply would have been nothing short of amusement as he flailed breifly around and screamed, "DAMNATION UPON THIS MACHINE!" before finally slinking into the car and taking a seat- visibly causing the automobile to lean to one side.

King: Higgins’ Hell, The Badlands (Gladius-IV)

"Well, what can I say, it's been a bad day and I need to work out some stress. It'll be better for you all to take this dead serious, you'll see, but we'll smooth things out over some drinks after", was King's reply to the town elder, uttered with his typical shrug of the shoulders while he looked around the place with nary a care in the world. Really, he quite liked it. This and other dives like it with their very raw, real and intimate atmosphere, completely different from random brawls and street fights or duking it out on a big stage. Leaving HUNK to blend into the crowd, as best as a man in full combat gear could anyway, the Turk seemed to pay his opponent absolutely no mind, taking his time to undo the buttons on his waistcoat and shirt before even approaching the ring.

It didn't take long for the ugly motherfucker they were putting him up against to come out swinging, but that was fine. Totally expected. The jabs were well aimed and plenty well executed, and they all hit nothing but smoke. Each attempt Tutty made at stepping into punching range was answered with a slight backstep from King that left him just outside the reach of the lead hand, and the Turk's laugh rang out the building as he circled away into complete safety near the "ring posts". "First lesson then! Learn to understand distance! It's not just about range and reach, it's about stance, position, movement! That wasn't good boxing distance and no way to cross into boxing distance, so I had plenty of space to see the punches coming and do something about them!".

He quickly finshed undoing his buttons and, finding no place to leave his clothes on, shrugged once more and draped them around one of the posts, taking good care to put away his shades in a pocket and rest his hat atop the makeshift coatrack. The man's upper body was well and truly shredded, a wiry, finely corded mass of well developed and marked muscle, and he sported enough tattoos and scars to make lifetime prison tough guys think twice about messing with him. Playfully, he tested the tension of the ropes before jumping up and over into the beloved squared circle. He was still smoking his cigar with gusto as he circled around the fighting surface, raising his hands to the crowd and staring both them and his opponent down with strangely glowing eyes.

Higgins Hell: King's Open Challenge! Fight 1 - Tutty vs King! Badlands (Gladius IV)

The Town Elder gave a firm nod, with his eyes twinkling with further approval, as King was explaining the fundamentals, not to mention as well as the offers of beer later. The fundamentals were an essential part of fighting and understanding really any martial way. It was the base, the foundation of growth as a competitor. And, at least for a city-folk, King was aware of their significance and the flaws Tutty was making early on. The crowd though still uproarious toned down as the man was making his speech. King had a captivating charm about him, a certain presence which distinguished him away from his colleague Dark Enforcer, which the crowd could not help but appreciate.

As King entered the ring before Tutty, who was making a loud series of angry hissing noises when he found his method rightfully criticized, he had the opportunity to test the condition of the ropes. These ropes were proper ropes, as opposed to say taped up cable, and were not super tense. It was clearly enough pressure on these ropes would cause a horrible spill and tumble, if not outright snapping them. But for an backwater town's under the table operation these ropes were surprisingly solid. It did seem as if these people did care about the tradition of fighting.

Tutty proceeded to push up on the top of the three roped section as he entered the ring; his eyes glowered with fierce instinct. The creature of the swamp let out an amused hiss, a higher pitched chirping noise, as he witnessed the musculature of his opponent. It was plainly obvious that what this man might've lacked in mass it was not certainly missing any muscle. King's body was a veritable canvas of destruction; it was merely an extra layer of what was to be a worthy foe.

The creature now truly yearned to demonstrate his supposed superiority against King. He rolled his head around while making a new hissing sound as the Town Elder took out a small bell and rang it. "START!"

The crowd let out a grand cheer as the match was officially, as official as an unlicensed club can be, set off to a start before quieting down. Tutty immediately set up a basic guard as he began pressing forward onto King, preparing to strike as well as uncover how King preferred dealing damage.

  • Ex-Mook of the Black Demon Sect; Sewer Complex, Swords Coast (Gladius III)
Fat Shang watched with awe as Genjuro showed a complete and utter mastery of Qi. While he was only able to really smack the Loyalist with a blunted blade, Gogyou performed a method of dispatching which reminded him of Shang. This was a creative maneuver that elegantly stopped the Black Demon Sect minion from utilizing his deeds as well as keeping his life intact so that he could learn from his mistakes. The Nameless Mook returned his blade back to his side as he let out a distinctive wheeze, bits of blood in his cough.

He stared towards Genjuro and gave a grin, trying to mask the pain, "Well better than I thought - I did not per-EUUUGHKHAAA-ish." The warrior felt his legs tremble even further, more than he did before. The wound itself still gave off a great pain to him. Stumbling towards Genjuro, and practically falling onto his shoulder Fat Shang attempted to hold onto Genjuro.

"If you would be so kind as to help me there. I doubt staying here would aid in my condition, and I feel as if my legs will give under my weight if I try this task unaided."

It was with this the Nameless Mook realized that he still had much to learn. There was no way he could stop the Black Demon Sect in any effective manner if his technique remained as unpolished as it was. But first he needed to recover so that he did not fulfill the desire of the Master. Fat Shang did not want to be chopped down into a corpse; he had grown to like the idea of living. And he had not yet found out his purpose or who he truly was.

Jesus nodded at Verdi's defense, smile growing wider as she implicated Solution and her pet as the leading cause of death during the battle. When she was done, he stood and nodded "I can vouch for her."

"Wait what!?!" 6O turned on him "But I saw-!"

"Oh the sinners tried, have no doubt." he jerked a thumb back to Harry "But this man's underlings were pretty effective at putting them down instead of vice versa."

He then gestured to Simon, "The Shaper's slave on the other hand was far more effective at cutting down the civvies, immensely so. I was right next to it for a good while, I can personally attest to it."

"Well then why didn't you say any-?!"

"So what she must be saying," he glanced back down at Verdi before casually waving his revolver in Solution's direction "Is that she should be clasped in chains instead. Or perhaps..."

His gaze shifted over to Simon "We could put down the ravenous beast, as its owner's control over it is far too lax."

"I knew it." Operator 6O bit, only continuing once Jesus raised an eyebrow in her direction.

She turned to Harry, "I don't think he explained what exactly he meant when he said he could raise the dead. He can literally just turn corpses into his mindless minions on the spot! When I woke up here there were two corpses around me, and this guy had them up and holding me captive not even minutes after he found me."

"So I can raise the dead, so what? Doesn't mean I'm just waiting for zombified minions to fall into my lap." Jesus stated.

"Then why have you been staring at that pile of dead bodies for the past twenty seconds?"

Jesus turned from the corpse pile and glared at her "Oh so we're just supposed to let a pile of fresh bodies go to waste now? Even the guys back in Nevada who couldn't raise the dead always knew how useful corpses were."

Operator 6O clenched her fists for a moment before looking to Harry "See? He's been extremely interested in the abilities of outlanders since he learned about them, has no regards for human life, and suddenly seems very keen to have someone executed whether they're innocent or not! He's going to try raising them as a puppet!"

"Why're you making me out to be some kind of villain here?" Jesus demanded before pointing back to Verdi and Solution "They're the ones with actual blood on their hands."

"I thought you said that the Scorpion was the primary killer?"

"We've one sinner who attempted to massacre the entire city over some dumbass baggage from her previous world which is most likely in the belly of some multiversal monstrosity, and another sinner who let their mutated freak of a pet do most of the first sinner's work. I'm not very particular which sinner gets the axe in this equation." he shook his head before looking to Messier "Besides, she's clearly more productive than either of them, so there's no real loss either way."

"You aren't even hiding it anymore!"

Solution: Diamond City, Badlands, Gladius-IV
Solution was pleasantly surprised that these townsfolk had no taste for a trial by champion. Perhaps they were more advanced than she thought, maybe even retaining most of the legal customs their old empire had. She actually hadn't considered the possibility of press-ganging the strumpet into servitude, especially into a service that would very likely end her. It was brilliant, both as a way to punish her for her wild misuse of magic and as a way to prevent magic from falling into the wrong hands.

"My apologies," Solution admitted to Harry, impressed, "I had greatly underestimated your people's respect for law. I suppose, if nothing else, leading them to redeem themselves or die trying against a true threat will help us all. Well, if it's a choice between your choice of reducing the culprit to a combat thrall and the Fusionist's plan to exile them, I would cast my vote for the former."

At that point, the sailor began presenting his grievances. He had the gall to accuse Solution herself, and Simon especially, of murdering multiple townsfolk! "What are you saying?" Solution accused, "My creations have been near me the entire fight!" She motioned to Yugo and Aggro, loyally waiting at her sides. The sailor began arguing with his concubine, uttering excuses for desecrating the dead and attempting to make himself seem moral in comparison. Could he really resurrect the dead? No, obviously not. He demonstrably lacked enough knowledge in magical theory and especially had no access to those arts forbidden to all those who practice magic. Necromancy, even the peaceable consultation of those long passed, was explicitly Barred from use, and Solution could only imagine other civilizations had similar taboos.

"If you're going to accuse me of murder, you'll need more than your word alone! The case with our rogue mage is clear cut, but what you're accusing me of is bunk! I demand you present your proof!"

Messier: Diamond City, The Badlands (Gladius-IV)
Fingers were being pointed in every direction and Messier didn't like it one bit. It reminded her a lot about the days when people hated Marona. "Guys? Don't you think this is a bit much? First you talk about killing her, and then you start demanding she fight for you. How would you guys feel if I did that to you?" Not waiting for a reply from the peanut gallery, she approached Verdi and looked her in the eyes. "Why did you freak out to begin with? And why do you keep calling them Germans? And why do you think I'm a 'child of Austria'? And why... Actually I think those are the important ones for right now."

The 'warlord', as Verdi had put it, wanted to fight some war against something, or most likely, some people and Messier really didn't know if she could take part in something like that. "Actually, I do have another question." The Fusionist turned her focus to Harry and glared at him. "Do these savages tie people up, wait for them to wake up, and then talk about killing them to get them to work with them? Because that would be pretty awful, don't you think?" Her tone contrasted harshly with her appearance, as if a reminder to the others that she wasn't a child and didn't want to be treated like one.

"And you." Now the girl was talking to the zombie. "Just what the hell is wrong with you? Why would you ever think I would side with you? You just want bloodshed for the sake of it. Your brain must be completely rotted."

Giuseppe Fortunino Francesco Verdi: Diamond City, Badlands (Gladius IV)

Verdi blinked as she stared flabbergasted at Messier. Someone actually wanted to hear her side of the story as opposed to simply executing her, looting her body and who knows what after that or enslaving her to a fate that'd probably be worse than death! Was this girl not a pure-blooded German like the rest of them? Did she have an ounce of humanity to her? Glancing at Messier she spoke in a much more peppier voice as opposed to how she had been addressing these savages.

"Okay, like I was going for grub right and then there was this icky, icky bug right?! And no one wanted to push it away, despite yanno it being a gross, horrible evil thing!" She turned to sneer at Jesus who refused that jump at heroism before returning her attention to Messier. "And then the Cultist began insulting me and sending the bu-" However at the very mention of Solution, a thought dawned upon Verdi. Well besides the astonished stare of the voice Messier spoke in not moments ago. Perhaps, she was in the same condition as Tchaikovsky? That poor composer suffered a truly terrible fate with Arkhe placing his essence inside the body of a young girl who could not reasonably get away with buying booze. It was probably the same thing with Messier. Verdi was internally grateful they at least would never need to constantly worry about being suspected of false ids unlike Tchaikovsky.

But that thought did not matter now. What mattered were the vile words being strung about by the Cultist. She was trying to implicate her over that notorious and vile insect!

Verdi turned her head towards Solution, with her right eye twitching. Gritting her teeth, Giuseppe allowed the moment to stew before releasing righteous fury.

"CLEAR CUT!?" Giuseppe howled out with a distinctive shriek before eying Jesus, "HE SAID IT WAS THE CREEPY ICKY BUG AND NOT ME! You German Savages - I DID NOT DO YOUR SLAUGHTERS! YOU DID! GERMAN HANDS MADE GERMAN CORPSES! NOT ME! I AM NOT GUILTY OF ANYTHING YOU MONGRELS ARE TRYING TO FRAME ME OF! There is only one true and civilized way to settle this, something you creatures wouldn't dare to comprehend as it boggles your little mind. It's called a Legal Trial in a Courthouse! I demand my right to council and a judge to hear the case. Weep you pitiful savages for it will be known to the world that I didn't do anything but that I am being framed for an icky, creepy, ugly bug's doing as well as those bloodthirsty deeds of the Germanic Creatures!"

Glancing up with a dignified air, Giuseppe continued. "You may pick the location for where the trial shall be held. The courthouse is yours, but the judge shall be picked by myself as none of you can be trusted to pick an impartial arbiter to lay down a verdict. That is the way actual people, not monsters such as yourself, settle things, through litigation. Providing facts and proving issues instead of just trying to execute a woman in the middle of the street! Or make her your slave!"

The Sole Survivor: The Commonwealth, The Badlands (Gladius-IV)
ICzrOHL.jpg
The outworlders tore into each other with words and Harry found himself with another facefull of spit from the murderous musician. Her self-righteousness rivalled that of Father and her blatant disdain for the people of the Commonwealth rivalled that of the Brotherhood and how they viewed Ghouls and Synths. She just continued babbling. Jesus was another problem though and Harry wondered if he could be trusted at all. This day just kept getting worse. First there was Preston's warnings, then the city was attacked by an outworlder with strange technology that had the gall to accuse Solution of all people of slaughtering the people who they didn't even regard as human beings.

Messier had jumped to her defence. She looked like a child and apparently she had the mindset of one too.

"That's enough!" He shouted at the group, trying to get back some control. He turned to Messier first "No. The likes of the Legion and the raiders just kill folks when they slaughter their own. I'm giving her a chance to make up for the lives she's taken, but now I'm not so sure. She's crazier than any raider so I wouldn't trust her."

"You don't need to defend yourself. I believe you." He nodded at the Shaper "All I saw was the army she conjured up with that strange instrument attacking me and attacking others for no reason. Once she went down, the army vanished and there were about a dozen dead people."
He glared back at Verdi, hatred behind his glasses "You're in no position to make demands." He shook his head "Won't kill you and there's no way in hell I'm taking you with me to deal with the rats. You can't be trusted to not kill us all the first chance you get with another army you pull out of your ass!"
"Just get it over with. The moment she's released she'll just kill more people." Cait butted in
"I want to check something first. Watch her."

Cait raised her shotgun to Verdi's head
"You move, you die. Give me an excuse." She spat at the musician's feet.

Harry inspected the bodies, removing his glasses. Bullet holes and scorch marks. Given the burning gypsies, the scorch marks may have added up but he knew his weapons. A laser weapon left a very different mark to actual fire. Taking a moment to look over a few more of the bodies, he walked back towards Verdi.

"Outworlder. There's going to be a trial after all. Some things don't quite add up here. But let's make it fair. I can't pick the judge, but neither can you. You're trying to save your ass from inhuman savages you want to kill first chance you get and I think you're goddamn nuts. Both of us are too biased to pick anyone if we want to make this fair."
"Where are you going to find someone unbiased? She attacked this city, so anyone from here is going to want to her dead!" Cait snapped
"Simple. Someone who didn't know it was her."

"After this trial is over we fly north and deal with the rats." He told the others "Those that volunteer, of course."
Then he glared at Jesus "And you and I are going to have a serious talk before we do."

"Yes!" Operator 6O pumped her fist in triumph "A trial, that sounds perfect!"

YoRHa had never done a trial before, so the android's knowledge of them were entirely from a secondary perspective. However, trials were supposed to be organized affairs where arguments were encouraged to find definitive and fair resolutions.

"I've never really been involved in one of these before, but I'm sure we can find a solution where everyone's happy." she stated before glancing to Jesus out of teh corner of her eye "And where we don't just jump to executions."

Jesus lowered his sunglasses and ran his glowing red eyes over Harry and the other Outwolders before shifting them back into place and shrugging "With mindsets like these, most of you wouldn't last five minutes in Nevada."

He holstered his revolver and spun his sword before sheathing it on his back, "Seems a consensus has been reached, but don't expect me to apologize for trying to simplify this pointless tizzy. You guys can go have your little trial and go about wasting more time, but let's keep it quick, eh? I've only got so much time to network here."

With that he turned and took several steps away from them towards the bodies before kneeling nearby and taking a closer look. He had been considering the usefulness of turning the more obnoxious outworlder's into quiet, productive shambling corpses, but there was one thing which had been making him hesitant to do so too recklessly. Their abilities. He reached up to tap at the halo floating over his head, tracing its edge with a finger tip as he thought. The Halo didn't take too kindly to otherworldly magic, he didn't know what would happen if someone like Verdi or Solution were affected by its power. He figured the best case scenario was that they'd be returned with their powers intact and simply follow his command, the worst case would be going nuclear. It was the grey area inbetween which worried him the most.

With a scoff he shook his head, the Auditor might've been a terrible boss, but Jesus probably wouldn't have went rogue if he hadn't let that damn clown get so powerful. That's what he was getting sick of, clowns being let run around with too much power. Harry didn't know how lucky he was that the others didn't seem to understand the sheer capabilities of firepower, that was an edge Jesus could've used a dozen times over.

But it wasn't like he could just gun them down, this wasn't Nevada. He'd just have to deal with it until his customers realized how much easier wiping out sinners were than trying to waste time giving them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe then they'd let him put down the problem, perhaps even pay him for it. He looked around for a clock of some sort, wondering if he should actually time how long until the next issue sprung up.

Operator 6O frowned after him for a while before shaking her head and turning back to the others, "So... how exactly are we going to set this up? Like, I've read up on how the legal system handled things way back when before the war and everything. Oh, my war, not yours but..."

She paused for a second, "Who exactly would be unbiased enough to judge? I mean, I want to think I'm unbiased by I just want to keep everyone from dying so... I guess that counts as a bias. Would we have a jury or just the judge? Would the jury have to be unbiased? Who's the bai-? Actually, I guess that doesn't really matter. Should..."

The android shook her head "No, the only thing that matters is deciding what happened and what should happen! So... how do we do that? Investigate?"

She wasn't exactly sure how this would work. YoRHa didn't do things like this. Should she just leave it to Harry and his guys or just wait with the others until things were over? Should she even be involved? Well, usually witnesses were called up during trials so...

Once more she sighed, wishing that she could've just kept having to deal with setting up a concert.

Namorae holds tight to him as the bike picks up speed, grinning widely. She’s not used to the speed, the adrenaline, and it’s amazing. That and she’s found someone to empathize with. That’s a rare thing for someone like her. “When I’m found out for what I am, I usually have to start running.” She replies, shrugging a bit. It’s not that it doesn’t hurt, but it’s her reality. In her world, she’s hated and feared, and her relationship with her father hardly helps.

"Everything that happens now is on your hands. All the lives lost, all the blood spilled." Scarecrow continued He looked at Jolie "It'll rival even your bodycount, monster."
"We'll stop him." Jolie ignored Crane's words, focusing on Marcus
"You can barely stand. How much blood did you use?"
"A lot." She chuckled "I still have some to spare."

She lunged at Scarecrow, her fangs bared and got a hook to the gut for her troubles. As the weapon stabbed into her, she reached for Crane's throat and tried to wrap her hands around it.
"Marcus!" She shouted "Now!"

Marcus growled as he held out a knife at Dr. Crane while Jolie held him down "You aren't going to do anything!"

He stabbed the weapon into Dr. Crane.

"It's over! He held tight to make sure the knife didn't come loose and the hook wouldn't cut him as well.

As the weapon pierced Crane, he groaned and was covered by more of the green fog. As it passed, he vanished and the Scarecrow was no more, the cold walls of the asylum free of the gas. Jolie fell to her knees, taking a few heavy breaths as the room cleared.
"I can't see or hear him." She shook her head "Zut (damn) Mage." She struck the floor with her left fist
Leaning back against one of the walls, she looked up at Marcus "He'll be back. Crane, or whatever his name was needs to heal from this."

Taking a look at her body, she examined the wounds.
"And so do I, I think."

"Well, where we're going you won't need to worry about that. You might get a few odd glances here and there, but it'll be fine. Promise."
The bike passed by a large stone in the road "Just stay close when we get there and thing will work out. No need to worry."

He turned back slightly
"And yeah, I do know that's what people say when things might go tits up but I do mean it. Some of us Mages might be rough around the edges but we stick together."

"Right, we can't risk angering the camp. Human survivors was the last thing I expected to see here."
Davies scratched his chin, and ordered his Coelacanths to make a right and roll right past the human settlement. If they opened fire, Davies was confident that their bullets wouldn't do much to the armor of the Coelacanths, but at the same time Davies was very interested in avoiding potential hostile contact.

The humans atop the wall watched closes as the drones moved past, one of them raising his rifle but another raising a hand to stop it. Their lips moved.
"Let it pass. It hasn't done anything. It seems different too, not like the others." The second one said

"If I can recall, the purple-clad woman from earlier informed us of a fleet that the UNSC was a part of. If these Zeons are intigrated into that fleet, there could be additional issues once we get off the station. We need to consider what could happen and improvise accordingly. Furthermore, is it mission-critical that Oh-Three embarks with us as well. I will not leave another Spartan behind." Samus said, continuing onward. "Make no mistake, they will be hunting for all of us regardless of who caused the most damage."

Vasu was caught off guard; jolting lightly in surprise as the car literally took flight. When the sudden turbulence subsided, Vasu focused his attention to the assortment of canisters laid out on the tray. The uncomfortably hunched Zealot simply declined out of his distrust of what the canisters would contain, and with a shake of his head, bellowed, "That will not be necessary. I appreciate your offer, Human." Shifting a glance to Jim, he turned his head back to the suited woman and growled, before speaking up once again. "Where are you taking us? We were previously affirmed that this area of your colony was a 'safe zone'."

Marcus sighed, as the Scarecrow finally faded from view as he placed his knife away from view.

"Shit, Finally he's gone, at least temporarily."

Marcus eyed his ally, Jolie as he frowned, slightly worried about Jolie and how much Scarecrow had wounded her.

Then he looked to his own wounds, where ripped skin led to the metal underneath, moving with blood over it. "Damn, that hurt."

He eyed the Asylum walls for strips of cloth or anything and wrapped it around the wounds. Marcus could heal but it wasn't by any means a fast process.

King: Higgins’ Hell, The Badlands (Gladius-IV)

For the first short while, the Turk did not actually start to fight, not really. Every step Tutty took, every attempt at a straightforward advance was answered by retreat that kept both fighters well outside of any sort of engagement distance. One, two steps backwards King went, then he would pivot and step out the line, cutting an angle that kept him away from the ropes and corners and forced the anthropomorphic anteater to reset his footing and begin the chase once more. Whenever King ended up near the ropes or corners it seemed to be entirely at his own discretion, and when the local boxer tried to capitalize he was met with feints, made to believe the outsider would move this way or that, he'd take his swing and King would duck out from the other side and circle away once more.

"Lesson number two is effective movement, then! You have to know where you stand and you can't just go straight!". He accompanied his grandstanding by raising two fingers to the crowd, you know, to help them count along. "Just walking forward lets your opponent control the pace if he's good at retreating! You gotta cut off their movements, take away their space and force em to move where you want em to!", he rattled off loud and clear, always keeping eyes on his increasingly incensed opponent. To make his point sting extra hard, he willingly backed himself to a corner. "Lateral movement is key in defense! Going straight back will get you caught on the ropes or corners, you gotta circle out! And don't forget to feint direction changes to keep opponents guessing!".

By this point, there was absolutely no need to guess that the audience was getting frustrated and that Tutty was right fucking pissed. No one made a fool of Tutty, no one! Veins popping, fists clenched harder than ever, hissing out all his frustration, Tutty proceeded to outright charge straight forward to the corner where King had seemingly trapped himself in. And this here was the third lesson, a rather specific one. As soon as his opponent predictably walked himself into the proper, very specific range King raised his right knee and snapped his foot forward and arcing upwards, right through the blind spot in the middle of Tutty's guard, delivering a crushing front kick that practically stabbed the toes of his shoe into the long and vulnerable snout.

The Tuttlebottom creature collapsed in a heap like a puppet with its strings suddenly cut.

Higgins Hell: King's Open Challenge! Fight Two: Franklin Clash vs King! Badlands (Gladius IV)

As Tutty collapsed in a complete and utter heap, the Town Elder gave a firm nod and rang the bell. "WINNER BY KNOCK-OUT; KING OF COSTA DEL SOL!" The announcement was clear and official, as if one needed to hear the announcement to know the winner. To anyone who had a pair of working eyes, or however they received visual stimuli, it was clear that the ape-ish ant-eater creature was beat. He was limp and collapsed over himself while King stood tall and victorious; hell he even looked like he was just starting a simple work-out as opposed to a spar that truly challenged him. But that was most assuredly due to King's superior presence in the ring and knowledge of fighting compared to Tutty.

There was a bit of stunned silence from the crowd; before they gave into their primal impulses. In uproarious cheers, various watchers of the show began throwing cash at others, with whom they lost bets to, drinking heartily and demanding another competitor to step up to King. Glaring throughout the crowd, a particular figure began to focus on King while he dropped a few bits of paper currency to the man to his right.

" 'EY BUD! Y'COST ME GOOD COUPLE OF PURPLEBACKS! AND YOUSE GUNNA PAY FOR IT YA HEAR!?"

As Tutty was being escorted out of the ring by two smaller gremlin looking individuals; the new challenger approached the ring. He bounced up and flipped over the top rope before landing on his feet to a loud set of cheers. This new competitor was not as physically imposing as the monster of the green hide King faced earlier. This one had a more humanoid look to him; he was short, had greasy long locks, had an angular face structure, thin lips which barely hid a mouthful of fangs, relatively unimposing arms but had very strong looking legs, at least what could be seen from underneath a pair of camo shorts, especially around the calf region. Thumbing towards his chest, he flicked out a forked tongue while smirking at King.

"T'NAME IS CLASH. FRANKLIN CLASH! LET'S GET IT ON!" He turned towards the Town Elder who proceeded to ring the bell and made he declaration.

As opposed to Tutty, Franklin had a rather impressive set of foot-work - a heavy bounce game. He kept his guard up as he began bobbing from side to side and trying to find an opening for a round-house kick upon King. In particular he was aiming for his foe's legs. Much like Tutty he too seemed to be guided by a particular principle; his was never skipping leg-day and making sure his opponents wouldn't have theirs.

Namorae is quiet for a long time. “Thank you.” She says after a while. “I have never heard of a mortal city where we could ever be welcome.” It’s just such an alien concept to the dhampir. Her father kept her association with mortals to a minimum for her own safety, both physical and emotional. He doesn’t know if she can take the fact that they’ll die so quickly.

She decides to stop thinking about it, shaking it off, and enjoying the ride.

Shoe-Snatchin' Willy, Citadel Untertubes, Gladius-I

The girl with the Skrillex hair admitted to Willy that security was going to blame him for the escape pod incident. Well, yes, that was obvious. But maybe for a better reason than just wrecking some poor shitter's mech. "Yeah, about that," Willy stated, nonchalantly, "I tore through a lot of this station getting down here. I dunno how quickly this place's MoMMIs work, but by this point they've probably got the breached areas turned into beercades or antimatter engines or whatever... and they probably won't have repressurized the areas yet. If you guys are planning on heading upwards, I'd gear up for null oxygen."

Willy pinched the side of his clown mask. Despite appearances, it functioned as a vacuum-safe breath mask as per Nanotrasen standards, and coupled nicely with the also standard-issue emergency oxygen canister in his backpack. He was fairly confident about his ability to survive in the vaccum of space; namely, not at all. But he could most definitely survive for longer than the Skrillex hair-girl and her friend, and that's what mattered. "The borg and Meathead over here'll be fine, and I'm good for a spacewalk or two if I got a coffee in me. So if we run into a hull breach," he pointed at Alva and Oliver, "you'll sign ownership rights to that borg you just bought over to me, right? I'll even drag you two over to Medbay for a quick cloning. Sounds good?"

Willy spared a moment to look down the hall. Like all maintenance areas, it was poorly-lit and very probably had something dangerous down the next blind corner. He couldn't see a damn thing, not that it mattered. A sudden niggling thought crossed his mind.

"Yo, Meathead!" he blurted out to Samus-007, taking note of her odd sort of loyalty to her technically-a-sibling, "if you don't want to leave the other guy behind, why are you down here? He could be a greasy spot on the pavement by now, and you wouldn't even know!"

TORGO - CITADEL, MAINTENANCE TUNNELS

Torgo could have pointed out the short-sighted selfishness of the other android's requests, or the ugly one's apparent ignorance of Spacenoid politics, or the (pending) Master's strange attempts to cajole a random stranger into following them, or even the fact that they had left the cat behind at the last junction, but her positronic brain was focused on one thing, and one thing alone: Savoring the electric bliss that was the feeling of the (pending) Master's big, black... credit card, as it was pressed gingerly into Torgo's mouthparts.

...And there was still that odd sort of scraping noise, accompanied by a low-pitched hum that seemed to be growing louder as they walked... It was so familiar, but that earlier crash seemed to have caused some minor hard disk errors. Torgo would have to do some debugging, later, but for now all her processing power was focused on putting this transaction through. More importantly, Torgo would need all of her negotiating abilities to cajole this exceptionally dim space millenial into actually paying attention long enough to complete the transaction. She had already forgotten she wanted to split the payments between two cards, it seemed, and Torgo wasn't particularly compelled to remind her.

"This must is the (pending) Master's first time... purchasing a domestic model.", Torgo chimed in, "If so, worry not, dear (pending) Master. Torgo will be gentle... in regards to household finances. Next, the (pending) Master must provide a thumbprint or signature to authorize.", Torgo pointed both index fingers at her forehead-panel before once again offering the stylus, "As one would suspect, Torgo is incapable of completing this transaction herself."
