A young lady must settle a business matter at Beaumont Hall, a once beautiful, illustrious manor now on the verge of financial ruin. The Beaumont family--or what's left of them--are more than meets the eye, and possibly more dangerous than they first appear. And the house itself is more than a building: it's a living thing that guards its secrets--and seeks the young lady's own.
Far from home and haunted by a place that wants her dead, this heroine must navigate deception, love, and ghosts both past and present if she wants to get out alive.

Name: Augustine Beaumont
Age: 26
Looks: Auburn hair, green-brown eyes; tall, lean build. Loose body language and an easy smile. Conscious of his appearance but not quite vain--takes care to look tidy and well-kempt, though most of his clothing is old and passed down. Wears a brass ring on one hand.
Personality: Charismatic and polite, Augustine is the embodiment of southern charm. Though often quiet and sometimes reserved, he is articulate and has no problem speaking with others. He is organized, determined, quick-witted, and pragmatic.
Background: When his father took ill, the Beaumonts returned to his old family home in Louisiana to nurse him back to health. However, he was taken by the illness, and their mother passed away not long after. He and his sister soon learned the family money was running out, and tried and failed at several business ventures. He spends most of his time trying to grow their fortune--or at least maintain it.

Name: Odessa Beaumont
Age: 29
Looks: Long, dark brown hair slightly greying and worn tied up; dark brown eyes. Has a bit of a serious, wide-eyed expression and stiff posture. Much simpler than her brother--takes care to look decent, but is much more self-denying and less inclined to be noticed. Wears glasses sometimes and often looks somewhat older than he really is.
Personality: Quiet-natured, she seems to have an almost timid, nervous disposition at times, or overly uptight and high-strung. Somewhat severe, she’s not as sociable or people-pleasing as Augustine, and is often cordial at best. She’s sharp-minded and headstrong but much softer when her guard is let down.
Other: Unlike August, Odessa held onto her family’s Catholic beliefs, though she often struggles to reconcile them with what she feels and knows to be true. Her religious doctrines are also complicated by her experiences and interest in the occult, though this is unknown to most.​
