Strives for perfection and discipline. General Malkovich is a very strict man who does not accept shortage of performance from his staff or his patients. Well respected and feared by all. He is in love with Feria but not in a sexual way. He kind of worships her and would not hesitate to follow her orders even if it meant sacrificing his own life.
The general is a firm believer in Blackwell's principles and he pushes his staff hard to keep the reputation of the facility clean, and it's security intact.
His emotions are not present in his work or his life. He has no regrets what so ever about the methods he uses at Blackwell and enjoys watching criminals suffer. His methods of non medical punishment are sever and can lead to serious harm both mentally and physically to patients.

Born into four generations of airforce military (male and female), Alexander was a very talented pilot who achieved greatness in his twenties. He was known by his crew members for his strict personality and twisted morality. Along with his brother they were invincible until his brother fell in love and married the woman Alexander was in love with. This incident made him more cruel and forced him to suppress his emotions so deep, he doesn't even know they exist any more.
Malkovich left the air force in his thirties when his plane was sabotaged and crashed damaging his left eye. Deciding to stay in the military, he changed positions becoming the warden of a maximum security prison where he started developing strict and cruel methods to control and break prisoners. His methods though cruel were deemed effective, and after about ten years he got a call from Feria whose father had passed away and who was going to take over her father's asylum.
Lured in by the ability to experiment with his methods even further and the possibility of creating the perfect soldier, General Malkovich accepted the offer, resigned and joined her at the new enhanced Blackwell asylum.
