THE SETTING

Despite being set over a decade in the past, the world this will be set in is very cyberpunk-esque as you may have taken note in the design and photos. Saturated bright lights, grimey streets infected with neon shops down every block, flying cars, nightclubs and arcades blasting music in the center of the city, holographic billboards run by sellout corporations running twenty-four seven, the world we now live in is a dark place. The skies have been polluted to the extent that the sun barely manages to shine through the thick dark grey clouds of disease and gasoline contaminating the atmosphere.

IOPZC

Stands for International Organization of Propogation Zone Crisis. This is the alliance between 12 countries (USA, England, Russia, Germany, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Japan, India, Israel, Sweden and Ukraine) that signed a contract in 1986 to agree to begin ranking their citizens in order to proceed with the cloning project.

PROEJCT NOVA

This is the name that was given to the IOPZC's mission. Their endgoal is to exterminate all citizens not granted immunity with a less than an average ranking of 75 in more than two categories.

THE CATEGORIES

Thought to be the most desirable and progressive of characteristics, the IOPZC sought out individuals with high scores in these six classes; intelligence, strength, talent, curiosity (the need to philosophize and seek out information), beauty and kindness.

THE RANKING SYSTEM

The ranking ranges from zero to one-hundred. The top 20 ranking each year, ages 5-18 in one individual category, unless they are lacking severely in all other five, have a piece of DNA extracted for cloning. An individual will not be cloned repeatedly and must wait a period of three years before being taken into consideration for cloning, despite their rank. The individuals are not aware of said clones and should under all circumstances never become aware of their other.

THE ROTATION

Every year the rotation changes between the twelve countries. The rotation for 2004 is as following;
United States - Brazil
Puerto Rico - India
Sweden - Israel
Germany - Ukraine
England - Russia
Japan - Singapore

THE "DEFECTS"

Every few years, it isn't uncommon for some of the high-rankers or clones to fall behind and drop significantly in their scores. When this happens, the IOPZC gathers the defects, as they call them, taking them from their homes and flying them out to their headquarters in the capital of Brazil. In their time there, they are presented with two options; to either allow themselves to be reprogrammed and have their memory wiped, as to keep humanitys advance at a steady, or be executed. Until now, no defects have ever escaped either fate.

THE CHARACTERS

The people we will be playing are all said defects, whether human or clone. Shortly after the RP has begun they will be extracted and taken to the IOPZC HQ in Brazil, and we'll take it from there.

THE CONTROVERSY

Although all non-government officials outside of the IOPZC contributing to Project Nova are the only ones aware that there are living clones in their countries, there's has always been certain backlash on the legitimacy of clones. Many in the IOPZC believe that the clones are only copies of live humans and serve no purpose other than their genetic code, and can be engineerd to do anything they want as they are not predominantly "human" and only feel and think as they have been made to do so, much like a robot. Whether this is true or not is yet to be investigated.

THE CLONES

All clones must have a minimum of five year age gap difference between the original they've been duplicated from. They develop identically in the physical sense and though they can develop different personality traits, it is extremely unlikely and may only happen in 1 out of 100 cases. Clones are believed to have a conscience and operate just like a human being.
