This is a WIP... 4 players needed for a test run of a game. It is heavily influenced by boardgames I've played, (TI4, Axis and Allies, Risk etc.)
An uncertain future...
Ascaria is in chaos since the death of King Garion. With no heir to the throne the King's Advisors struggle to prevent civil war, while hostile neighbors look to take advantage. The Golden City is ripe for the taking, either through conquest, diplomacy or trade.
(I will act as the GM. Players will control a randomly assigned faction. You will need to also write more detailed descriptions of your faction and background etc.)
The Men of Iron
You are a powerful Lord who once swore an oath to King Garion, but since his demise you feel you have the best claim to the throne. You gear up for war against those will appose you.
The Barbarian Horde
With a rich seafaring history, the Northman are a hardy people who seek new lands in a warmer climate. You and your Warband start to migrate deeper inland and have given up Raiding for farming.
The Old Republic
Ascaria was once part of an ancient Empire long ago, before they achieved independence. The Empire still persists as a much smaller state, but with recent events, grumpy Senators speak of reclaiming lost territory.
The United Tribes
Your people love the old ways. After generations of being driven from your homes because of expanding civilization, multiple tribes have united under one banner. With a formidable military at your back, you seek to take back what was stolen.

Aggressive - Excellent Combat bonus but no unit upgrades
Balanced- extra order token and fast recruitment
Resourceful- can have extra elite units in a zone, use an order token for a combat re-roll
Wealthy- excellent economic bonuses but weaker troops
