NAME:
Claudia Arkwright
AGE:
25
GENDER:
Female
BIRTHPLACE:
Wyndon
GYM TYPE:
Electric
APPEARANCE:
Standing in at 5’1” with terrible posture to boot, Claudia’s general physical build is best compared to a twig. Often wears casual clothing, mostly simple t-shirts and shorts or hoodies when it gets cold. Claudia has fairly pale skin from not going outside, as well as overcast gray eyes and medium length blonde hair often kept straight down her back.
PERSONALITY:
Easily excited and a little absent-minded, Claudia enjoys social spaces and interactions. However, there is a point where there’s too many people to have a good time. She doesn’t enjoy being the center of direct attention, instead preferring to let someone or something else take the spotlight. What she does like is entertaining others. Teasing others is also a favorite activity of hers. While her slightly airheaded and lazy exterior may present otherwise, Claudia can dedicate herself to a project to get it done right if necessary, if becoming a bit more perfectionistic and quick to anger in the process. She is also surprisingly persuasive and headstrong under the right circumstances.

SHORT BIOGRAPHY:
Claudia was born as the only child of two highly successful Item inventors. She could have had practically anything she wanted, except for five minutes doing something with them. They weren’t necessarily bad parents, they were just busy with everything except taking care of their kid. While they tried, better opportunities arose time and time again, causing them to leave for β€œone last trip”. Eventually, they stopped adding the β€œlast trip” when telling her they were leaving again, not even allowing the tiniest sliver of hope.
As soon as she was deemed mature enough to face PokΓ©mon battles, she was pressed into testing out new Items in actual battles, with a Rotom and a five minute tutorial by her side. Though she initially treated it as a chore to get over with, she soon grew to enjoy it immensely.
Getting to said battles involved navigating the busy streets of Wyndon, a daunting task. On one such trip, having to find the way back to the apartment complex she lived with her parents in, she stumbled across a show in an abandoned lot and immediately became entranced with a new style of music.
Despite their infrequent interactions, the eccentricity, determination, and skill of her parents had rubbed off on her. Maybe it was inherited. In either case, Claudia had her heart set on replicating what she had heard that fateful night.
After much research online later, Claudia decided to take a trip, nay, a pilgrimage, to LUMUSE, a legendary music festival in Kalos. After spending 5 whole minutes convincing her mother and father to allow this (she’d often joke that this was the longest conversation they’d had in months, though it was pretty much true), she was given the OK. It would have gotten her out of the way for a few precious days, why wouldn’t they accept?
If there was one thing that could be said about the assistants taking care of everything, it was that they were far more efficient, even going as far as giving her lessons in Kalosian.
The months leading up to the festival flew by, and soon the day to fly into Kalos arrived. The trademark efficiency of the assistants was on display, and she was on the flight and in Lumiose City before she even knew it. The days leading up to the festival were a haze. But soon enough, the day finally arrived.
As night fell, the disciples gathered. They milled about, eating and drinking, till finally, the hour struck. Surrounded by the illumination of the City of Light, the performers taking the stage shone brighter, seamlessly flowing from one act to the next and pumping up the crowd like their lives depended on it.
Upon coming home from that life-changing show, Claudia vowed to herself to bring this style of music back to Galar. The problem was that Galar was so obsessed over its precious Galar League. Solution: Become part of the Galar League.

β€œWhy would I waste my time talking myself up when I could be getting shit done?”

NAME:
Felicia De Valois
---
AGE:
16
---
GENDER:
Female
---
BIRTHPLACE:
Spikemuth
---
GYM TYPE:
DARK
---
APPEARANCE:
Felicia is exceptionally short, even for her age standing at an unimpressive 4'9". What she lacks in size she makes up for in spirit. Felicia adorns functional clothing with loud colors and scattered trinkets that come from the heists and hijinks of her past. No matter what color Felicia chooses to adorn on a chosen day she always makes sure to incorporate a healthy amount of black into the outfit. She uses the excuse that it helps people to know she's the dark type gym leader, but in reality she thinks the black mixing with the lighter bold colors is really cute. Even her hair follows this style, having been dyed a playful pink and draped in twin tails tied off by black ribbons.

Another style Felicia enforces about herself is to always be wearing a face covering. Few people have seen her full face since she is always seen with some sort of face covering. Colorful bandanas, stylish punk face masks, or full on masks that obscure her face entirely while still looking spunky and stylish. The only part of her face that most see is the mischievous glint of her hazel eyes.

As stated before, Felicia prefers to keep her choice in clothing functional. Comfortable running shoes, gloves, small hip bags, puffy jackets with pockets and shorts are a selection of her favorite styles. She wouldn't be caught dead in a skirt or a dress, and just the idea of wearing formal clothing makes her shiver. The functional clothing choice and bold color contrasts helps to form the lithe girls spunky, mischievous and cute style.
---
PERSONALITY:
A life of law breaking thievery plus professional level swindling and scamming has led Felicia to have an eye for causing trouble as well as the smarts to not get caught for it. She is a mastermind when it comes to crime, though isn't the most intelligent when it comes to anything else. She’s mastered the ins and outs of manipulating the legal system, but she still counts on her fingers when doing basic math. She may be working for the law now, but she still loves to play a good prank on whomever she deems fit though. The classic "steal someone’s wallet wallet then give it back while insulting how poor they are smugly" prank is by far one of her favorites.

Felicia tries her best to play the suave, independent, and mysterious thief character. Even though she does play it well whenever in her element she is prone to being quite pouty and, for the lack of a better word, "Angy" whenever she is teased or put in an unfamiliar situation.

A life of hiding away from authority and years of notoriety has left Felicia with an abrasive outer shell. She is slow to trust people and quick to accuse. Due to her past of being a thief she never really got the whole "making friends" and "being polite" ideas down correctly. While she is trying to be more polite now that she lives a less dubious life, she is astoundingly awkward. Just the prospect of small talk with a stranger gives her the jitters. Occasionally when prodded or teased she will fall back into old habits. Childish glares, vulgar insults, and rosy cheeked pouting. She hates herself for her past tendencies, but she is too stubborn to try and change herself, instead staying in the cycle of awkward fits of anger and burying her emotions deep inside.
---
SHORT BIOGRAPHY:
Born and raised in the dingy streets of Spikemuth, Felicia has next to no memories of her parents or her real family. Her mother is a registered schizophrenic that was deemed unfit to raise a child and her father wasn't even present for her own birth. With an unfit mother and an absent father, Felicia was placed into the orphanage system. The orphanage certainly wasn't a bad place. Nothing like the movies make them out to be at all. It was actually quite nice! Though, it didn't sit quite right with Felicia. The pitiful gazes of the staff, the emotionally unstable orphans. Felicia was treated less as a child and more as a precious piece of damaged art. She hated it. Thus she started her streak of rebellion against the image of a poor pitiable orphan she had made of herself through the medium of petty theft. Soon her simple crimes evolved slowly into something more sophisticated. Felicia realized that she didn't just have to survive in the orphanage, she could THRIVE out on her own. Thus Felicia ran away from the orphanage and carved her life out on her own.

Of course it was difficult at the start. The threat of authority or hunger didn't deter her, though. Through constant work and fiery determination, Felicia began to become something more. She worked with like-minded PokΓ©mon that took a liking to her lifestyle and she graduated from a state of struggling to survive through simple-minded crime. Felicia wasn't just a lost child that needed to be wrangled and placed back into a safe environment anymore, she was a potential threat to Galar. Whether it be striking down supply trucks to swindle the product and sell it to underground sources or full on heists of big PokΓ©mon gyms and other big establishments. She was a genuine big threat as a thief and a criminal and as she worked her team grew with her until she was a threat as a PokΓ©mon trainer as well.

Of course, Felicia was eventually brought down by none other than the champion of Galar. She was brought in as a criminal, and while she was first sentenced to be shipped off to serve time for all the trouble she had caused, The Champ saw potential in her, and advocated for her. It took a lot of convincing, and while she was not anywhere near free of her charges, she had scored a far better deal. It was agreed upon by the Island State of Galar that she was to work under the Galar Police Division as a loosely employed Private Investigator so that she may pay off her crimes in a way that served to better Galar while not destroying Felicia's future.

The deal was a great success, and Felicia proved to be a powerful ally to the law. With her vast knowledge of the criminal underworld in combination with her opportunistic nature, she proved to be a most successful sleuth. She gained plenty of respect in the force despite her young age and spotty background though even after graduating out of her Junior investigator trial period, people still referred to her as "Junior" by most of the force, a name which she grew to HATE. Even though she was a successful member of the force and a valuable asset to the Galar investigative force, she still couldn’t break the habit of seeking out trouble and mischief.

Her greatest legal heist, which she has labeled "The Shady Oaks Gym Heist," is actually the entire reason she is a gym leader at all today. It was a little after she graduated out of junior status and the plan for the heist was simple. She filed all the paperwork needed under her missing fathers name, had her Zoroark pose as a machoke, dress him up to look as human as possible, and push her way through the gym establishment process. It wasn't hard, there was no dark gym leader at the time and competition for it was non-existent. After she got the deed to her gym, her "Father" suddenly up and disappeared! How terrible! Obviously somebody needed to run the gym! Thankfully, there was a contingency for this exact situation! Mr. Valois had put in a person to run the gym in his absence, and it seemed he had filled it out with the name of his daughter, Felicia De Valois. By that point people knew what she was up to, but it was already too late. While she was too young to OPEN a gym, she wasn't too young to RUN one. All that the authorities could do was stand and watch as she inherited the title of Dark Gym Leader.

Untitled223.jpg

Let's bring it back to basics.

NAME: Tabitha Roberts
AGE: 26
GENDER: Female
BIRTHPLACE: Turffield
GYM TYPE: Normal

APPEARANCE: She is on the shorter side, with a light purplish-grey hair color, gray eyes and a slight tan from the sun. In her casual attire, she wears a comfortable greyish blue flannel, grey overalls and black work boots. She ties her hair up under a light grey bandanna with a white pokeball decal and wears large, round wire frame glasses. As a gym leader, her uniform is light grey with white and darker grey pokeball designs with a large pokeball logo representing her gym. She wears black tights and white and black shoes with her uniform, and keeps her hair down in a long braid.

PERSONALITY: Typically a soft spoken and gentle sort of person, she loves to nurture PokΓ©mon and encourage new trainers. Most of the time she gives off a reassuring vibe, and she is able to approach even the most skittish PokΓ©mon. Her passion is watching those around her grow stronger, with her own special approach to bringing out the best in the PokΓ©mon she raises.

Those who know her outside the Gym setting are able to see a more competitive and adventurous side to her. Despite her fairly unassuming appearance, she loves a good challenge. Although she doesn't leave a strong impression outwardly, her obsession with PokΓ©mon can get a bit over the top. From diets to training regimines, she has raising PokΓ©mon down to a science. She's deeply attached to her PokΓ©mon and is rarely seen without her newest "Babymon" that she will dote on as her PokΓ©mon team shows off their strength.

SHORT BIOGRAPHY:
Growing up, she worked in the local Turffield farms alongside many pokemon. Desiring to set out on her own PokΓ©mon journey, once she was old enough she ventured into the nearby fields and caught the eevee who became her trusted partner. After travelling around the region with her eevee, Dusk, she settled down for a few years to work in a PokΓ©mon Daycare Center. Occasionally, she would venture into the wilds to discover new PokΓ©mon. Eventually, she built up a team of her own, studying various ways to raise and strengthen Pokemon.

After becoming a certified breeder in her late teens, she began to look for new ways to learn more about PokΓ©mon. She began to participate in battles initially to learn about developing and evolving PokΓ©mon further. Eventually, she took on the Championship, which inspired her to found the normal type gym at age 22.

She is known throughout the region for giving many trainers their first PokΓ©mon, though she is very picky about making sure the PokΓ©mon and trainer are a good match. Her experiences in life and her career have led her to understand that teamwork between people and PokΓ©mon is needed to bringing out the full potential of both.

NAME:
Paul Bunyan

AGE:
22 years old

GENDER:
Male

BIRTHPLACE:
Somewhere in Galar

(Turfield, Galar)

[Has to be somewhere in Galar. If they're not, please provide a good reason.]

GYM TYPE:
Grass

APPEARANCE:
Ever seen somebody who has the pokemon ability intimidate? Hes large, scar covered, and looks like he wrestled two Ursaring while a Murkrow pecked at his face. He dresses like hes going to war and generally has a serious and terminal case of R.B.F.

His voice is also very loud, his indoor voice rings eardrums and his yelling can be heard over a roaring stadium, to put it nicely. He is, without a doubt, a generally intimidating fellow.

Now why in hell does every single pokemon he meets act like hes a gigantic pokedoll comeplete with cuddles, chomping and shaking him like a chewtoy? The world may not know.

PERSONALITY:
He is large, in charge, and always ready the throw down! This man is a rocker to the highest degree and more than willing to fork up all his money to buy his darling little sweet pokemon whatever their hearts desire! All whilst looking like he is goig to rob the place.

Yes, a comepletely hardened and terrifying individual! His loud voice and brutish demeanor cannot simply be a way to actually hide the fact he is softer than a poffin and more loving to his pokemon than a grandma to her favorite grandchild(Which is generally all of them). Truely, there are many in this world who wouldn't mind seeing him drop the act, but... Old habits die hard, and this habit has always been there. Acting tough, pulling a 180 with a pokemon, pulling the tough act once again...

It must be tiring, but the pokemon seem to love it, and some fans seem to like it enough to. Enough to start a club around him called "The Tough Bleedin' Hearts" club.

Which speacialize in motorcycles, pokemon, and occasionally bake sales for charity.

SHORT BIOGRAPHY:

Paul was always abit of a hard case to crack, from even a young age he had this... Unfriendly look about him. Even when he smiled his furrowed brow and thick brow gave kids his age either a reason to laugh at him, which generally ended quickly when he looked their way to find out whats so funny( He wants to know the joke to), or just generally give him a wide burth. He made many attempts to seem nicer, but after he made that young girl in class cry he stopped and clammed up entirely...

Until they were old enough to learn about pokemon. The first time he met a new one outside of his father's Mightyena (brought in from his brief time in Hoenn) was during that little class, he met the pokemon that would soon become the seed of his love for grass types.

A Seedott.

Now, many would leave a Seedott be, but not this grumppy little child, he went straight up to it, and... Gave it a hug, which it obliedged by... Doing nothing, as Seedott do. This brief exchange of affection and inability to show it gave fruit to a long standing love of pokemon! This seedott being so unexpressive reminded him of... Himself!

So, after years of work... He finally did it so long... Now nothing can stop him! All shall know the greatness of the GRASS TYPE!!!

Gender: Female
Ability: Own tempo
Moves: Petal dance, leech seed, quiver dance, Teeter dance
Out the gate a terrifying pokemon, utilizing teeter dance and leech seed to stall the fight out whilst able to increase it's own abilities with quiver dance. It's only attacking move, and only one needed is petal dance. Normally, one would find such a powerful move with a heavy drawback. But not with this pokemon, her onw tempo prevents any form of confusion! Though, she is a stand out star, she isn't very supportive to the others.

Shiftry
Nickname: Gale

Appletun
Nickname: Pie
Gender: Female
Ability Ripen
Moves: Dragon pulse, Energy ball, Recycle, Curse.
Held item: Sitrus berry!!!
An odd ball, this pokemon knows defence! Or rather, it can draw out battles like no one's business, it's dragon typing helps protect against some common type weaknesses and allows it to hit hard back!

But where it shines, is it's ability, and the move recycle, many trainers have lost simply due to being unable to finish off this old girl, able to poof back a berry and eat away if she needs to heal. Truely, this one requires overwhelming power to take down!

Ferrothorn
Nickname: Crushinator
Gender: Female
Ability: Iron barbs
Moves: Gyro ball, Curse, Ingrain, Power Whip
Held item: Rocky helmet
This is Paul's pride and join, his beautiful sweetheart, his lovely destroyer of dreams. Or physically oriented pokemon. She has her weaknesses, to be certain, but when she gets going, she can crush the best of them!

NAME:
Ripley Kammel

AGE:
26 years old

GENDER:
Nonbinary [Uses she/they pronouns]

BIRTHPLACE:
Castelia City, Unova [Reason: to escape family, she moved to Galar. More information will be provided in their biography]

GYM TYPE:
Bug-Type

APPEARANCE:
Ripley's color scheme is a mix of browns, greens, and red, plus hints of gold; the gym leader's build is toned from constant garden work, and their height is 5'03". Ripley's hair is a messy piece of work, and her eyes are green, with an assortment of freckles dotting across her face. Their outfit is a green button up with a red and gold-edged vest, and a gold necklace, with long green shorts that cuff at the knee and black socks. Their shoes are black and are designed to be dress shoes, with gold laces. She wears a brown belt around her waist, which carries Ripley's main team that she's traveled with her entire life, and the team that's used in advanced trainer fights. Her jersey number, which is located on the back of their vest and on the left side of their shorts, is #545-the Pokedex number for Scolipede.

PERSONALITY:
Upbeat and excitable, Ripley is an aloof gym leader who rambles more often than trying to make small talk. Their emotions are more in control of their logic, and what wouldn’t make sense for another trainer would make complete and perfect sense for Ripley. However, this excitable energy can run out, and it makes the poor girl rather tired in compensation-that doesn't stop them from being who they are, though. Especially when it concerns her or other people’s Pokemon-they’re very open and friendly towards all types of Pokemon, even to types that would burn through her team completely. Being a ball of energy does not excuse the fact that Ripley is almost too smart for her own good, and gives off the energy of being a fairy-type Pokemon, if humans could be pokemon types.

SHORT BIOGRAPHY:
Ripley grew up in Castelia City with a business father and an almost nonexistant mother, and who’s older sister (by roughly 5 or so years) basically filled the role of the parent since he was always at work. The two siblings would take each other on walks around neighbourhoods once Ripley was old enough, each keeping lookout for each other’s back in the big city. As Ripley grew to be about 10, their sister-Anna-grew more distant as her father enticed her into going into his business field. After all, if money isn’t coming in, what's the use for a family? Around this time, the younger sister had grown an interest in the gym in the city, and on a walk she had encountered Burgh on accident, just outside his gym! He was working on his latest art piece-brainstorming on what it would be about, and this particular interaction spurred Ripley into diving headfirst into learning about Pokemon, especially bug-types.
That is, until Anna found out a few years later. The sister’s father had a particular disdain for trainers, and it seemed to rub off onto Anna, so when the older sister found out about Ripley’s enthusiasm for Pokemon, she proceeded to run the younger one ragged around the home before grabbing them and throwing them into her room and locking the door. Ripley was locked in her room for roughly a day before the younger sister found a way out through altering the doorknob.
After that, the two were distant, as whenever Anna was in the room Ripley would, without hesitation, leave the room to be somewhere else. They didn’t want to be punished for something they couldn’t control. The connection between siblings was gone.
Bug-types, like Burgh’s own Pokemon gym, were the original reason that Ripley got into learning about Pokemon-so that same type gave them solace and comfort. Eventually, they got old enough to go off on their own and get her starter, and it all steamrolled from there...acquiring her team, finding a hobby she really likes, traveling across the region and settling into Galar…
And finally, Ripley became a gym leader in Galar.

A collection of Cutieflies and Ribombees have decided to set up shop in the bug gardens that are everywhere inside Ripley's Gym (save for the stadium field), along with a "family" of many bug-type Pokemon, from Garden Pattern Vivillon, to Parasect, Beautifly, Vespiqueen, Leavanny, and beyond. Ripley has names for each and every bug type that's decided to nestle here in their gardens, though the list is getting long and hard to keep track of nowadays-the wild Pokemon inhabiting their gym are neutral towards trainers, but tend to crowd around Ripley and/or new arrivals who wear flowers or smell like flowers. And plus, it isn't like she's trapping them here-the Pokemon are free to leave through open and cracked windows on the ceiling.

NAME:
Mari Aurum

AGE:
22

GENDER:
Female

BIRTHPLACE:
Wyndon; Raised in Circhester

GYM TYPE:
Fighting

Hair Color:
Black

Eye Color:
Light Amber

Height:
5'6"

Weight:
137 lbs.

Complexion:
Slightly Pale

Body Composition:
Ripped

PERSONALITY:
Unlike what her preferred PokΓ©mon type would suggest, Mari is a very passive and reserved person. More like a stoic warrior than a martial artist obsessed with fighting. She takes more after the quiet, calm, and collected fighters who think before any attack. She has a lot of walls and closed doors to her psyche, but, if one were persistent enough, she can be a great friend like no other. She will readily offer an ear to anyone she is close to as well as to any trainer younger than her.

Despite her willingness to help others with their problems, the young woman has a bad tendency to hold her own issues deep inside. She gets scared to mention them and the really problematic things act like waking nightmares in her mind and she sometimes acts like a child. Her own source of counsel has been gone for a little over two years and she has bottled up all of that grief in an unhealthy way but continues acting as if nothing is wrong in front of others.

SHORT BIOGRAPHY:
Mari comes from a long family line of Gym Leaders. They didn't start in Galar though with her grandfather being the first of their family to move to the region taking the mantle of Gym Leader. Her mother then continued the family tradition. Mari's father was also a Gym leader but he never broke into the Major Leagues. As none of them had acquired the title of champion, they looked to the next generation to fight for that role. This wasn't initially falling on the head of Mari though.

Originally, her older brother was being set up to take the mantle of a gym leader for the next generation of their family. But whether through a mix of the pressure, lack of desire, or his rebellious tendencies the boy eventually abandoned the family. He hasn't shown his face to them in the years since. But either way, their parents and grandparents then turned to Mari and her younger sister, Lili, to prepare them to be potential gym leaders.

Neither were near as rebellious as their brother to buck against their elder's desires. Besides normal studies and PokΓ©mon training, the two also had to develop a skill involved with their chosen PokΓ©mon type. Mari enjoyed watching the Fighting types most, but inside that branch, she had an exceedingly bountiful love for the ones who used weapons. Specifically blade like ones. So, she ended up taking up Kendo, a style of fighting from her grandfather's homeland.

They did grow up seemingly in the lap of luxury and they took to the training well, but they never had much interaction with anyone outside of their family or instructors. That's where their PokΓ©mon and each other come in. Even though they were forced to practice a lot of the time throughout the day, their free time consisted of them playing together with their PokΓ©mon and even battling each other. They both became exceptional trainers and when they were both old enough to participate in the gym challenge(Mari waited for Lili to be old enough) they journeyed together and continued battling together but against others. They loved double battles and being able to work as a team.

As a final trial of their education as trainers, when they came to their mother's gym, instead of two separate single bouts, she challenged them to a double battle to test their worth. They passed with flying colors but of course, they didn't make it past the eighth gym leader. Skip a few years later, they continued their normal education and trained on their own time but with an ever-watchful eye. When Mari turned 20 eight years later, it was time to take over the gym, but she felt she couldn't do it without Lili. They received permission to function as a single gym leader for gym battles like Tate and Liza from the Hoenn region but only one could compete in the league matches each year. Things were looking up for the duo when the unfortunate happened. A few months before the Gym Challenge that year Lili contracted a deadly illness. They sought help from the best doctors they could find but no one could help, and unfortunately Lili passed away.

This was a few weeks before their first go as gym leaders were supposed to occur. Mari was obviously out of it leading to the days before the Gym Challenge started. She took in Lili's PokΓ©mon but she was an emotional wreck. However, she forced herself to participate and refused to let anyone stop her from running her gym. When in her own gym, they only do double battles, and even if it's not the most strategic choice, she tends to try and have at least one of her PokΓ©mon and one of Lili's in the battle at all times. She's a fierce trainer. But when it comes to League matches she tends to falter as those are single battles. Its sort of like seeing the PokΓ©mon work directly together gives her a bit of a boost and helps her focus. It's been two years since Lili died but Mari still can't really bring herself to talk about her at all.

To interpolate facts from facts. To know without being told. I mean. What is that if not psychic?
Helena Latia

NAME:
Helena Latia

AGE:
25

GENDER:
Female

BIRTHPLACE:
Hammerlocke

GYM TYPE:
Psychic

APPEARANCE:
Short black hair, eyes a tinge of red, Helena can raises some chill if one meets her in the dark of the night. She likes dressing like an office worker despite not working in one, with a black tie and skirt that does not impede movement. As a gym leader, her uniform is a black coat with the pokeball logo design weaved on the front. Her hair pin is the shape of her gym badge, a butterfly. No, she will not take off her heels. No, she doesn't have a complex about her height- 5'4" IS THE NATIONAL AVERAGE!

PERSONALITY:
Cool and chill describes her sufficiently to strangers. Helena takes things at her own pace and will rarely budge to do inconvenience matters by herself. This attitude makes it a bit difficult for her to warm up to other people, but she doesn't mind it. She goes with her own flow and does things she finds cool as she likes.

She has a neutral stance toward many things, rarely disliking or liking anyone during the first and consecutive meetings. Despite so, she has an intense curiosity toward any new phenomenon. It is important to note that her curiosity reaches a level that many may find uncomfortable. The combination of her sharp wit and curiosity has often been described as uncanny.

SHORT BIOGRAPHY:
Natu was an unusual first pokemon, but the unusual pokemon captivated Helena since it hatched from her father's Xatu. The Hammerlocke Stadium always brought festivity to the ancient city. The same energy and glory she watched there inspired Helena to start her pokemon journey and to compete in the stadium one day, too. Of course, Helena didn't go far.

She caught an Abra on her journey and got distracted by its strange behavior. Asleep yet conscious, and even more so than other pokemon. Curious. She brought it around the region with her Xatu until it evolved into a Kadabra who, much to her delight, could communicate with her. The psychic, the power she couldn't sense, attract her like no other. Since then, she continues her travel with a new goal in mind: find more of these psychic pokemon.

As her team grew, Helena turned her attention to the utility of psychic power, combative utility included. And where else could she find the strongest trainers but in the Championship? Helena fulfilled her childhood dream to compete in the league, though her focus on testing new moves halted her journey halfway. Eventually, she settled and accepted the role of psychic type gym leader.

Outside of gym battles, Helena often goes around the region to explain the dimensions in pokemon moves and how to use them to interact with the environment. Of course, she makes use of the chance to have a 'demonstration' and tests one of her new psychic power application.

"With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts."

NAME:
Saphira Torres

AGE:
24

GENDER:
Female

BIRTHPLACE:
Motostoke

GYM TYPE:
Fairy

APPEARANCE:

Break the mould and reshape it. A given truth to her appearance and personal aesthetics. There's something about darker purples that draws this young leader in, adopting a style that fringes on both gothic and punk, with dashes of pinks. This almost overshadows any assumptions she could ever be the "Fairy Gym Leader," contrasting to the harsher image of the precious pastels that people have come to associate with her type. However, there is a fire in Saphira's eyes, a fire to thrive, framing her dark purple hues into an intensity to burn and conquer.

Her choice of outfit and its design is somewhat whimsically inspired - a dress, with a plain bodice and sleeveless, with longer gloves acting as the focal point in which the design comes together. Black tights and big black platform boots give her that desirable edge, buckled up a few times and fit for the harsher climates in case she travels. A massive belt is tied around her waist, slimming slightly and where the fairy gym leader keeps all her pokeballs, in velvet pouches to keep them snug. Jewellery isn't a necessity, but a black collar over her neck is a uniform staple for Saphira, with tiny little indents and spikes, fading in to complete her look.

Standing at a sheer height of 5ft 11, Saphira and her platforms are giants.

She's a giant in a sea of people and her boots push her almost up to six-foot, something she is gleeful about.

An active lifestyle gives Saphira a somewhat muscular build, verging on some slender proportions and defined shoulders. She's much more active in endurance and climbing, thus, developing her profile with some linear muscle, mostly around her arms and legs, midriff that hasn't yet seen the full extent of any training.

PERSONALITY:

Stereotypes are a cliche. Saphira is a tough-loving, strength-enduring and cute-adoring trainer. She doesn't care for the assumptions and nor for the avid "opinions," of what she should be. She's much more fiercely independent with her sense of style and her of conduct over her gym. Breaking the ceiling is something that Saphira wants to do the most β€” advocating for individualism and your agency. Thus, her toughened exterior is very gushy and mellow in the centre. She's sociable, friendly and with a dash of humour (dry humour) that reveals a softer trainer beneath.

She isn't all sharp glares and sharp words.

During her earlier years, Saphira did feel like she was out of touch with reality and her wants. That she couldn't love being cute and love being tough, the two couldn't exist in this harmonious bubble β€” meaning she had to pick. Kids are cruel, indeed, the chip on her shoulder is something that Saphira is learning to get over and through. "Fairy types are just weak," another piece of wisdom to which the gym leader wants to smash to pieces. All of which combines to create the strength in which she seeks and aims to obtain herself. Illuminating the obvious fire in her eyes and the stubbornness that makes her stance oh-so-clear. Stripping her a little further back, Saphira's relationship with her pokemon does demonstrate her kindness in buckets and her unfortunate disposition to spoil them relentlessly, contributing to stronger characters and personas than herself. A unique roster of characters makes her daily life a comedy show.

Aside from her interest in Pokemon. Saphira is very interested in fashion, particularly accessories for Pokemon and functional design. A calming process, taking pencil to paper and she's currently adapting her fashion line, nicknamed "Saph's Jewels," but she is looking into alternative and environmentally safe jewels.

Another smaller interest from her father, stability for her community and prospering with her gym.

SHORT BIOGRAPHY: Growing up in a single household with lots of siblings, Saphira was the oldest to the cunning brood that belonged to her mother, Guinevere Torres. A former fighting/fire specialist who was renowned for her strength and strategy, coming close to the title of "Champion," a few times before settling for an environmental scientist who is no longer interested in playing family. Saphira took on a prominent role in her family, to a large family of five brothers and she was the only female. Suffice to say, she loves her family dearly, but this marked an onset of differences that followed her into adulthood. A tougher mentality was born and bred amongst a house that was filled with rambunctious teens and fighting to get their way, competition was the norm and quiet was a myth. She was the first to take up her pokemon journey, specializing in a type that had gotten her relentlessly mocked by her friends and peers.

But Saphira defied the mould, picking up Pokemon and battles, she didn't care to adhere to anyone's opinions and rocking on through her tribulations of life.

Becoming a gym leader was never in her cards.

All of that changed upon witnessing the fairy gym leader battle. Saphira never felt a surge of hate and want in her life β€” blossomed at the tip of her knuckles and her wrist. She wanted to be the one in the ring. Defending the badge and defending the type she's adored since early childhood. She detested the mere mention of this "old fart," remaining in charge at Ballonlea and her farce of finding a gym replacement. Saphira stepped up, volunteering herself, she would be the one to take over. Unfortunately, her "transition" over to leadership was thwarted in the first battle.

Again & again through the mornings and evenings, in which Saphira battled for her claim. Reflecting back, Saphira didn't quite catch on to the old hag using the battles as measures of tests and making sure she was fit for the mantle. On the day of her 21st birthday, she was gifted with an Alcremie from her gym leader and one last battle to "decide the course of the gym," and if "Saphira was ready to accept herself?" Saphira understood why she had been losing all of this time and where her defeat had come from. She was playing to the physical furiosity of her Pokemon and never thinking to accept the less underhanded methods and perhaps in fear of being "cute," but one that day. She had won. She one in a clean sweep where she had shifted her approach.

She didn't need to be a picture of strength to her family, and nor did she have to be strong for the fact she missed having a relationship with her father. All of this was skimming underneath Saphira's eyes and what she had been carrying with - only now learning to heal wounds.

But she is currently on the right path, doing her best to carry those ideals forward & emulate what her old teacher, mentor, had been saying.

β€œOne of the most healing things you can do is recognize where in your life you are your own poison.”

NAME:
Achille Venin || "Brant"

AGE:
32

GENDER:
Male

BIRTHPLACE:
Celadon City, Kanto || Later moved to Galar on his journey of self improvement.

GYM TYPE:
Poison

APPEARANCE:
A tall man with a fair vanilla complexion and piercing red eyes. His long jet black hair is straight and stops just below his lower back. He's surprisingly muscular, keeping fit by following regimens he'd learned from his past along with training on the Isle of Armor.
Achille dressed semi-formally, mostly in black undershirts and dark violet suits or vests. He wears gloves for cleanliness purposes, as a courtesy to his customers and due to the fact he handles poison-types regularly.

PERSONALITY:
A reserved and personable man, Achille gives off the feeling of a refined gentleman but also a slightly intimidating aura with the way he dresses and carries himself. This is completely intentional, as he does his best to keep strangers at arm's length but wants to be approachable to gym challengers and regulars at the Nido's Burrow. He gives the impression that he's intelligent, mainly from his manner of explaining things and choosing to be an understanding party when it comes to issues that require multiple perspectives, along with the travel souvenirs and books he displays at the bar showing he is a well-traveled person. Achille feels as if he lacks the ability to judge most people, as his own moral compass isn't exactly straight in the first place, so he is the type you could vent your woes to or ask to play devil's advocate. He's not one to go out of his way to make friends with people of Pokemon, rather be the one to lie in wait and see if they'll approach him. This isn't to say he's unfriendly just...waiting and assessing who is attempting to enter his life. It's a habit he still hasn't shook from his Rocket days.

SHORT BIOGRAPHY:
Achille Venin hails from Celadon City, all the way in the Kanto region. His family lived in a small apartment within the city and while they weren't the wealthiest, they were happy. As a boy he'd keep himself occupied by roaming the streets of the city without much supervision, with nothing more than a wild-yet-friendly Nidoran♀ he'd come to call his own. He'd attempt to fit in with the other boys his age by causing mischief and trying to participate in friendly Pokemon battles with the amenable Nidoran♀ by his side. He was by no means a stellar foe, but he won his fair share of battles between his peers. He didn't have the means of training any other Pokemon other than the small Poison Pin Pokemon that accompanied him everywhere due to his family's less than fortunate financial position, he wasn't even able to properly call her his own until one of the boys he lingered around left behind an unused Pokeball. As he grew older his family's monetary inconveniences only served to further irritate Achille and influence his decisions.
In his late teens, Achille and his family hadn't been able to do much better for themselves. His father wasn't able to receive any sort of promotion at the Celadon Department Store and his mother was trying to scrape up more money by working in a flower shop run by Celadon's very own gym. Achille himself took to gambling, both in Pokemon battles and by sneaking into Celedon's Game Corner. He never won big, but at times he'd be able to bring home enough to contribute to the family's monthly funds. Other times his luck would be so bad that he'd resort to shoplifting, not taking into account how badly it may reflect on the staff of the Celadon Department Store and his face being recognized, just to get some things to eat for himself and his now Nidorina. This all culminated into his fateful encounter in Celedon's Game Corner one evening, changing Achille's life for years to come.
He'd just finished wasting the last of his coins and was ready to leave the Game Corner, when a man dressed in black bumped into him, with too much force to be an accident. Achille attempted to give the man a few choice words but found that someone had grabbed hold of him and covered his mouth. Not just that, but the man who ran into him must have taken Nidorina's Pokeball in passing, as it was no longer on his belt. What happened next was a blur, but key moments still show clearly in Achille's memory. He was dragged out back, told that those running the Game Corner knew he wasn't supposed to be there and that they'd be taking his Pokemon as a fee and that he wouldn't be allowed back in the Game Corner. Nidorina was released from her Pokeball and Achille tried to bargain for her return, saying without her he had no other way to help get money for his family. After some consideration the duo dressed in blacked offered him a choice, leave without his precious Pokemon or keep the Nidorina and join a group that went by the name of Team Rocket. He was told that the organization's line of work wasn't too different from the thievery and sneaking around he was already doing, so Achille would fit right in. Being given such limited options, Achille resigned himself to joining whatever gang these two appeared to be a part of to keep his Nidorina and potentially find some semblance of income.
Following that night Achille explained to his parents that he'd be off training with his Pokemon and wouldn't return for some time, so they wouldn't worry or try to find him. This wasn't a complete lie, as he had to undergo Rocket training with is Nidorina somewhere even he didn't know about. After packing his things and discreetly returning to the Game Corner, which was revealed to be one of Team Rocket's bases to Achille, he was promptly given his new grunt uniform and sent off to be trained with a handful of other new recruits. The young man had expected his time there to be awful but, as the two Rocket grunts who had confronted him predicted, he seemed to fit right in. He actually made friends, a majority in a position similar to his own. People down on their luck looking to make money and maybe find somewhere to belong. Maybe even find themselves being feared and respected along the way. In the end he passed training with flying colors with new allies by his side and he was given the codename "Brant" to keep his identity secret. Months turned to a year, and then another, and "Brant" was cementing his place as a member of Team Rocket. He had a Golbat he'd managed to steal from a trainer in battle that'd be the main competitor in less...let's just say Pokemon League approved battles back at base. The team's view on Pokemon had infected Achille and he began seeing Pokemon as nothing more than tools for battle or a profit to be made. The times he enjoyed among his peers in Team Rocket weren't meant to last, however, as it seemed someone was keen on meddling with them and with time the leader, Giovanni, disbanded the group.
Now with no place left to go and once again at a loss for what he should do, Achille wandered bitterly. He took his anger and sadness out on others through trainer battles, making enough to justify his journeying. With time Achille began to realize the toxic environment and mindset he'd been keeping himself in, along with his mistreatment of the Pokemon that stood by his side. They were poison types, but he'd been the one being toxic to them in the end. His travels took him to Galar, specifically the Isle of Armor due to hearing word of those training there would return stronger in both mind and body. During his training, his skills with poison types were recognized and his compassion towards Pokemon began to show again. Word was put in that he'd be a good candidate for Galar's League, and the rest is history.

The Galar League's Poison-type specialist, Achille Venin established himself not too long after traveling to train on the Isle of Armor. Currently, his gym is in the league's standard stadium style but when he first made his home on Galar's mainland he had to settle for running it in tandem with his bar, Nido's Burrow. With time, the league realized that a gym ran out of such a place, even if Achille took proper precautions and has strict challenge time rules, would potentially reflect badly on them. He's content with the separation of his two jobs, even if it make come as an inconvenience for regulars coming to the Burrow early or challengers looking for a late night challenge. Nido's Burrow is decorated with souvenirs from his travels, but mainly has Kanto memorabilia. A keen eye may be able to even notice some hints of Team Rocket memorabilia along the walls, as Achille still looks on his past fondly in some aspects.

NAME:
Zefyr "Zed" Mergeier

AGE:
24

GENDER:
Male

BIRTHPLACE:
Mauville City, Hoenn. Has decided to leave his home region in an effort to experience new things and expand his horizons.

GYM TYPE: Flying

APPEARANCE:
A lithe, average-height male, his movements and mannerisms flow with elegance akin to a gentle breeze. Restrained locks of black hair fall past his shoulder-blades, bunched primarily into a lengthy ponytail that absorbs harsh rays of sunlight. The rest of his hair frames his face, wherein lies his supple features and muted, gray eyes. His skin is very fair, with little to no imperfections. This distinct effeminacy extends to his outfits as well: his casual attire consists of a belt-fastened white robe that completely covers his upper torso, draping over the front and back of his legs, leaving them visible and permitting movement. The rest of the outfit consists of wide-leg, ankle-tapered light blue trousers and a baggy shirt of matching color. This leads down to his navy slip-on shoes and white socks. The material of each fabric is incredibly soft to the touch, while the pastel blue and white are equally as easy on the eyes.

His true outfit consists of similar wide-leg trousers, though they are white in color rather than blue. His shoes are a slightly darker shade of navy, with white socks that blend in with the trouser's taper. He wears a dark, void-black robe, unfastened at the waist. Unlike his other robe, this one has sleeves that reach past his elbows, which he usually cuffs. The harsh black of the outfit is much more harsh than his previous one, forgoing the welcoming, subdued colors. Overall, Zefyr's style of outfit emanates an airy, weightless aura. As the gentle breeze clashes against his frame, allowing his hair and robe to flow with the gale, one may deceive themselves into thinking he's a spirit of the wind, come to walk upon the mortal plane.

Zefyr has very minimal bulk, lending to his slim appearance. However, this doesn't mean he's not fit. Due to both traveling and his personal training, Zefyr has become an adept acrobatic and is quick on his feet. However, as toned as his body may be, he's not brawny at all. Primarily working with bodyweight exercises, Zefyr has never had the intent to bulk up nor gain any sort of mass. He's deemed it unnecessary for his lifestyle.

PERSONALITY:
Both well-mannered and well-spoken, Zefyr emanates grace. He is compassionate and kind towards others, seeking to be a confidant to those who are in need. While his appearance may imply a more secluded, reserved way-of-life, Zefyr is actually quite sociable and seeks out others quite often. A of zealot of individuality and freedom, his ideals had manifested as early as his functioning memory. Expressing his emotions is an important characteristic of who is , though they're usually not conveyed through an over-the-top manner. His partnership with his Pokemon reflects this, as he advocates for a cooperative bond between both trainer and Pokemon. A Trainer and their Pokemon must be entirely willing to become companions, lest you strip either side of their freedom of choice. As a result, Zefyr has an incredibly strong bond with each and every Pokemon he has caught. When it comes to those who oppose these aforementioned ideals, Zefyr does not sit idly. Those who treat their Pokemon as tools can't be left to tear freedom away from the innocent. This change in demeanor contrasts heavily with the way he usually carries himself - it's probably the only time, other than battle, when he'll raise his voice.

As he is only one man, a great burden weighs oh-so heavily upon him - a burden granted by his own obsessive, idealistic nature. What can one individual do? What can be done about those who lie on the other side of the spectrum of morality? This stress upon his mind, curated solely by his own free will, can be incredibly distracting at times. Neither a pessimist nor an optimist, Zefyr attempts to take a self-aware, realistic approach towards things. As a consequence, he frequently doubts himself when faced with hurdles. However, perhaps due to his own stubborn nature, he continues to press on without fail. Through his position as a Gym Leader, he hopes to convey his ideals to each trainer who aims to succeed against him in battle.

Much like the Pokemon who he has been granted the privilege of calling his friends, Zefyr is passionate about battle - there's nothing that makes him feel more free. Battling with his Flying-types brings forth the same primal feelings as soaring through the sky. As he improves in battle, the more his heart is stricken with these feelings of awe. However, watching someone else battle can be just as thrilling. For when one with true bonds formed with their Pokemon engage, their energy fills the arena.

SHORT BIOGRAPHY:
The infinite, expansive sky is something that we take for granted. When Zefyr was young, he couldn't help but stare at the blue expanse. The soaring silhouettes of flying-types casting shadows overhead, the wings they'd been granted breaking the shackles that would have otherwise kept them grounded. How could you not be envious of them? One day, he wanted to be like them. He wanted to taste that kind of freedom. To go where you want, to do what you please. To soar through the sky. He would find a way.

With his parent's accumulated wealth, Zefyr lived in a manor with both his mother and father. He had made it very clear to the both of them how eager he was to leave. It's not that he didn't love them - he simply had aspirations. As soon as he was old enough, he set out on his own. At this point, he had already had his first Pokemon for quite some time now: a Taillow - nicknamed Nero - that he had befriended prior. He had not caught Nero, they had simply formed a deep bond with one another. A solid foundation of trust had been maintained and nurtured, blossoming into a bond between both Zefyr and Nero. Experiences like this are what fueled his mindset - what a proper relationship between Pokemon and Trainer should look like.

After a solemn goodbye to both of his parents, he went out to explore and grow as a trainer. He had no intentions of taking Hoenn's gym challenge - not just yet, at least. It simply just wasn't something he was interested in at the time. He was wholly capable of developing on his own. After trekking through and exploring his home region, he ended up leaving, heading across the sea in an effort to explore others. After Kanto and Sinnoh, he had finally arrived in the Galar region. In each region, he strived to train and form bonds with the Flying-types they he had met, expressing the amazement he held towards them. He truly admired the freedom they possessed, making it clear that he had no intention of restraining them - he wanted them to be free, and offered each Pokemon an opportunity to grow as individuals alongside him. Besides his home region, Galar is the longest that Zefyr has stayed in one place, eventually becoming the leader of a gym and using it to express his principles to others - alongside improving himself as a trainer. Becoming a gym leader was something he put a lot of thought into before eventually agreeing. After all, it was a commitment to the Galar Region and the people within it. A Gym Leader is a hurdle that all must face to participate in order to progress within the league. For each battle, his presence was required. Zefyr decided that he would be fine with this, as he could simply retire from his position when he was ready.

In between gym battles, he can usually be found exploring the Galar region - his title as a leader requires him to stay, after all. As much as he'd love to continue adventuring across each individual region, he has dedicated himself to spreading his ideals across Galar. After all, battling is entirely thrilling on it's own, there's no need to be hasty. Time is on Zefyr's side, and there's quite a bit of work to be done.

CHAMPION OF GALAR
4eb8fd86aa6215af4017f378608d0fdb.jpg
Name: Icarus Sissons
-
Icarus hails from the Johto Region, though he has been a well known name in Galar for decades as a benevolent person and the uncontested champion of the Galar Region. He is known for being a powerful trainer and a well tempered, humble champion. Even though he has been uncontested for quite some time, he is not one bit conceited. He sees every trainer and person as an equal, and treats them as such. All of this in combination with his strong sense of honor and his dedication to the art of PokΓ©mon handling and battling has made him quite the idol in the region. He is treated by a beloved celebrity by most of the population, and he is often seen in large island-wide events. Despite his wide-spread popularity, almost nothing is actually known about the champions past. He never talks about his time before coming to Galar, and when pushed to speak on the subject he is known to politely excuse himself from the topic or to try to divert the conversation.

Four days ago, Icarus has entirely disappeared. He is nowhere to be found, and there is no indication as to how he disappeared or why he has gone. The news is all people have been talking about for the past week, and many are deeply worried about what has happened to the champion of Galar.
